A whale shark was spotted about 10 nautical miles from Karachi harbour, according to World Wild Fund for Nature-Pakistan.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the organisation shared an image of the whale shark.

The post read: "An independent observer spotted a whale shark, 10 nautical miles from Karachi Harbour. Do you know that this incredible species has seen its numbers plummet by 50% over the last 75 years?"

Contrary to its name, the whale shark is not a whale. It is a fish. In fact, it is the largest fish in the world. It can grow up to a length of 60 feet. The fish is mostly found in open waters of the tropical oceans.
