ISLAMABAD: An Indian army official was arrested in occupied Kashmir for possessing heroin worth Rs400 million, confirmed a top police official.
The Kashmir Media Service quoted IG police as saying that the Indian army official was arrested on Sunday and the heroin recovered from his possession had Afghan markings.
Around eight kilograms of pure heroin was recovered.
?The consignment, which was headed for Delhi, was the second major haul recovered in the past three days,? said IGP of occupied Kashmir S D Singh Jamwal.
Arrested soldier belongs to a light infantry regiment and is attached to army headquarters in New Delhi.
Police has booked the Indian army official under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
