Arguably one of the most popular stars in combat sports, Conor 'Notorious' McGregor has made a name for absolutely annihilating his opponents with his ruthless MMA skills in the UFC. Ever since starting his career in 2008, the Irish fighter has established himself as the biggest pay-per-view (PPV) draws in MMA history.

But, while everyone - including his die-hard fans - are fuming for his lack of interest in defending his lightweight and featherweight title anytime soon, the 29-year-old has courted controversy after rumours of his involvement in a bar brawl thronged social media.

McGregor, who received the payday of his lifetime after losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing ring earlier this year, was reportedly heavily drunk at the Black Forge Bar in Crumlin, Dublin in Ireland before having an altercation with a fellow customer.

According to reports, McGregor was seen by punters on Sunday night entering the bar before the melee erupted which involved the UFC posterboy, a young man, a man in his 50s and a fourth man. The reports further suggest that the young man was punched in the head, while the man in his 50s - claimed to be a close associate of drug dealer Graham 'The Wig' Whelan was punched twice in the face.

While the details of the incident including the claims are yet to be validated, a lot of self-proclaimed witnesses have taken to the social media and shared the notorious episode.

"What a wanker. Always honoured his loyalty...until tonight...he came into his 'local' and he started on some poor innocent kid.punching him.I really hope it turns out that we got the wrong end of the stick. But I doubt it," read a Facebook post from a certain fan Lisa Leonard who had also clicked a selfie with McGregor before the incident.

Another fan Karl Nicholson claimed that he was drinking in the bar when McGregor walked in. "Was drinking in the Blackfordge in Crumlin and McGregor came in and boxed the head of some poor chap out of his box," he wrote on Facebook.

The MMA Bible also tweeted about the incidents claiming that many witnesses had written to them authenticating the entire episode.

These are still only rumours at the minute but just a little update; lots of people keep tweeting us saying he hit some known drug dealers brother and that he's in some trouble..
Again we are just passing on what we are hearing and it has been a fair few people to say it!

In fact, McGregor also ended up liking the tweet before deciding to unlike it moments later.

We're still getting dozens of messages from people talking about this gangster thing! From McGregor liking our original tweet then unliking it to just the whole story in general; this has  been very weird...
Hopefully more comes out soon...#WhatTheFookHappened in Crumlin.. ð®ðª

On the other hand, there is no word from McGregor or his team management on the reports. But, a cryptic video was shared earlier in the day by the Irish champion who had his coat pulled over his face and his hood up with the entire focus on his eyes.

This isn't the first time when McGregor has made headlines for wrong reasons. Few weeks back, his escapade at the Bellator 187 event where he was cheering for his teammate Charlie Ward ringside attracted a lot of criticism.

In a turn of shocking events, McGregor rushed into the cage and shoved referee Marc Goddard before slapping a commissioner in the face.

It's needless to say that McGregor should restrict his aggression and MMA skills for the ring, but his recent act has undoubtedly got everyone asking: What The Fook Is Wrong With Conor?
