This Woman Married The Love Of Her Life Just A Few Hours Before Succumbing To Cancer

You probably have seen the viral picture of a bride celebrating as she is getting married in her hospital bed, a picture that has touched the hearts of everyone world over. Heather Mosher sadly passed away after a few hours of getting married.

She was battling an aggressive type of breast cancer that she had been diagnosed with in December 2016 and lost her battle a year later. But a silver lining to the day she was diagnosed came in the form of her boyfriend, Dave Mosher, who proposed to her as they rode a horse-drawn carriage.

I am in awe of the strength Dave's love inspired in Heather even in her last hours. She was his great love and he was hers. I pray these moments give Dave the same strength now to carry on the legacy of their love. Heather, you are greatly missed. The earth froze yesterday as the warmth of your light ascended to be with God for eternity. Until we meet again my dear friend. Watch over us. Original post from 12/24/17.

While talking to ABC News, Dave said, “I had planned to ask her on Dec. 23, 2016. That morning we had gone to the doctor after she had found a lump on her breast.”

After getting a confirmation through a biopsy that Heather indeed had breast cancer, Dave wanted to propose even more. Recalling the day, he said, “Now more than ever, I needed for her to know that she's not going to do this alone. When you're with your great love ... it's like trying to separate your arm from your body, you can't do it. You're connected. She was my girl.”

And people say that true love doesn't exist.

If these arms could hold you until the end of time, I would never let you go.

Even after undergoing surgeries and chemotherapy, the aggressive form of cancer spread to her brain, and by October she had to be put on a ventilator.

Originally, they were set to wed on 30th December, but Heather's doctor suggested the couple wed “sooner rather than later,” the groom said. Preponing their nuptials, the couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends inside St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, on 22nd December. Even though she was on life support, Heather had a wedding gown on, along with a wig.

Standing in front of everyone in the chapel, I was hesitant to pull out my camera. As someone who wanted nothing more than to see my friend truly happy, I felt I had to capture these images, which by this point I knew were her final moments with us. What you clearly see here is two people who were destined to be joined as one. A love like no other captured for all to see. My gift to her.

The couple exchanged their wows in the hospital's chapel, and Dave added that some of his wife's final words were her vows. He said, “It was just like surreal because I'm supposed to be exchanging vows to her and here I am saying goodbye.”

Of all the photos this one breaks my heart the most. He was longing to have a chance to build a life with his bride, but knew she had to say goodbye. He wished more than anything to take her pain away. But knew the only way her pain would end, was if her body finally gave up the precious life within. I cry as I write these words.

Her funeral was then held on Saturday, the original date of the wedding. No, I'm not crying, you're crying.
