15 arrested in India for celebrating Pakistan?s Champions Trophy victory
Police in India have arrested 15 Muslims for allegedly celebrating Pakistan?s stunning victory against India in the Champions Trophy finale.
The 15 people were arrested in the Madhya Pradesh state on Monday over charges of sedition. They were shouting slogans in favour of Pakistan and bursting crackers, police claimed.
The accused would be presented before the court on Tuesday.
Pakistan thrashed India by 180 runs to clinch their maiden Champions Trophy title, in a historic victory featuring a quickfire hundred by batting sensation Fakhar Zaman and a magical spell by Mohammad Amir which removed both the Indian openers and skipper Virat Kohli.
