  1. Much like Varun Dhawan's acting chops, there's a lot more acceptance towards his bomber jackets today. While the piece was hardly spotted on celebrities in the 2000s, in the 2010s — most of them are dropping their bucks on it. The idea is simple: there are tons out there, and you just need to throw them on. Simple. And right since their inception as an American military jacket (MA-1 flight jacket) in 1958, the bomber has only evolved. From being a nascent must-have to a red-carpet constant for Jaden Smith, to representing off-duty gear for men like Varun Dhawan. And talking of the latter, Varun's penchant for bomber jackets goes a long, long way — he had been holding the torch (all by himself) for a dragged-out course of time, until of course, Sidharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, and Sushant Singh Rajput joined the race and dethroned his existence as the Light-Layering God. ð¥R E D H O T B A D R Ið¥ @varundvn in custom @ekam_official by Manish and Armaan @lux_cozi_innerwear tank @levis_in jeans and @adidasoriginals high tops #varundhawan #stylefile #badrinathkidulhania #akshaytyagiforstylecell #red Assisted by @rajasidatar A post shared by A K S H A Y T Y A G I (@thetyagiakshay) on Mar 3, 2017 at 4:14am PST âï¸H A P P Y B A D R I âï¸ @varundvn in @diesel @reliancebrandsltd @jackjonesindia tee @louisvuitton sneakers for #freshface event for #badrinathkidulhania #stylefile #varundhawan #easyvibes #onedaytogo #akshaytyagiforstylecell Assisted by @vmelectricc @rajasidatar A post shared by A K S H A Y T Y A G I (@thetyagiakshay) on Mar 9, 2017 at 6:44am PST ð¯Double the Trouble ð¯@varundvn slicked out for interviews for #Judwaa2 in @zaraindiaofficial @zara jacket and @hm tee and sporty slacks @gucci sneakers Styled by @thetyagiakshay Assisted by @mayuri_1192 #varundhawan #VD #doubletrouble #toneontone #akshaytyagiforstylecell #stylefile #menswear #style A post shared by A K S H A Y T Y A G I (@thetyagiakshay) on Sep 15, 2017 at 8:05pm PDT © Viral Bhayani Let's establish why we love the bomber first. For one, it's banded bottom, cropped fit and an over-all tailored vibe (so to say), makes it an exemplary piece to begin with. Then, bring in the aspect of versatility and its ability to toggle across menswear categories, and you'd notice that it pairs well with well-cut trousers, just as well as your denim. Bravo. For three, even its hybrids such as the varsity jacket are icons in themselves — equally good and fairly distinct. However, to put things into perspective for today, here's what the actor wore for a recent event while promoting Lux Cozi ('Ye Andar Ki Baat Hai' fame): © Viral Bhayani For the blaring branding-amateur, here's some intel: this is a G-Star RAW bomber jacket. Featuring a ribbed collar/hem/cuff, double-welted pockets, slight padding and a print ready for 9 to 5-approved activities. The print, however, is an ode to Jan Asselijn's 1650 painting: The Threatened Swan. © G-Star Raw Retailing at a price of INR 20,000 (approx. at Saks Fifth Avenue), the jacket does come at quite a heavy MRP, you see. Without a doubt, this statement isn't applicable for the rich or wealthy, or in any way derogatory for other income groups. We're only trying to establish how much you need to save, starting today.
