  1. Stormzy performs at the Brit Awards at the O2 Arena in London, Britain, February 21, 2018. REUTERS/Hannah McKay LONDON: Singers Dua Lipa and Stormzy were the biggest winners at this year?s BRIT awards, Britain?s most high-profile pop music awards, taking two trophies each at an event that saw performances from some of music?s biggest acts. Lipa was named the best female solo artist and breakthrough act at the British Record Industry Trust (BRIT) awards, held in London on Wednesday, while rapper Stormzy won the British male solo artist prize and British album of the year for ?Gang Signs & Prayer.? Ed Sheeran took the global success award but lost in the three other categories in which he was nominated, while One Direction star Harry Styles won for video of the year by a British artist. Foo Fighters took the prize for the international group. US rapper Kendrick Lamar was named best international male artist, with New Zealand singer Lorde taking the female solo artist honours. The event featured performances from the likes of Sheeran, Lipa and Lamar, who rapped on top of a glass cube containing a luxury car that was smashed up by a man wielding a bat. Lamar?s act appeared to suffer from technical difficulties that muted periods of his performance, leading fans on social media to express their frustration. Other artists went for grand scale. Justin Timberlake opened the show with a rendition of ?Say Something? accompanied by a scores-strong choir dotted throughout the audience, while Dua Lipa was accompanied by dozens of dancers, also scattered throughout the arena. Many of the stars in attendance wore white roses on the red carpet and during the show as a gesture of support for the Time?s Up and #Metoo movements against sexual harassment and abuse and supporting women?s rights. ?It does make a difference,? Lipa told Reuters on the red carpet of the protest. ?We are protesting in our own way and this how we?re going to make a difference.? The show also saw Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher perform ?Live Forever? in a tribute to the victims of a suicide bombing attack on a venue hosting a concert by U.S. pop star Ariana Grande in Manchester in May 2017, which killed 22 people. British media outlets reported that Gallagher had been added to the line-up at the last minute, to replace a planned tribute performance by Grande, who dropped out due to illness.
  2. Sheeran is in the running in four categories while singer Dua Lipa received the most nominations LONDON: Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Liam Payne and Stormzy are among the nominees for this year?s Brit Awards, Britain?s most prestigious pop music prizes. Sheeran is in the running in four categories - British male solo artist, best video and single for ?Shape of You?, and best album. Singer Dua Lipa received the most nominations. Her single ?New Rules? was a break out hit last year and she is nominated in five categories including best album, best female artist and best single. And former One Direction star Payne was nominated for best single and video for ?Strip That Down?, which has now been a hit in Britain, Australia and United States. ?The song?s done extremely well, I am extremely happy with the success so far... We just reached a billion streams. I have never written down that number, I have never had the need,? Payne said backstage at an event to announce the nominees in London. ?It?s amazing. You look at it and you?re like, wow, it?s one-sixth of the world?s population, incredible.? Dua Lipa will compete for best female artist against the likes of Jessie Ware and 2015 winner Paloma Faith. East London rapper J Hus and platinum-selling songwriter Rag?n?Bone Man have three nominations apiece, including for best album, while Stormzy?s ?Gang Signs and Prayer? is also nominated.
  3. Mallika Dua needs no introduction. The woman has taken the internet by storm for all the right (and comic) reasons. From a regular copywriter to an internet “sensashiyun”, she rose to fame after her video ‘Shit People Say: Sarojini Nagar Edition' went viral. Even if you don't like her insanely hilarious videos (How can you not though?), chances are that you must have come across at least one of her videos with crazy Snapchat video filters where she enjoys playing the role of her very original characters. And when we talk about funny videos, how can we not mention All India Bakchod (AIB)? Fortunately for Mallika's fans, the comedian has been collaborating with the equally popular AIB for quite a few projects and the results are obviously hysterical. Earlier this year, AIB came up with a highly imaginative video ‘If Apps Were People', featuring stand-up comedians including Mallika Dua as ‘sleazy' Tinder, Kaneez Surka as ‘artist' Instagram, Sumukhi Suresh as Facebook, Tanmay Bhatt as Battery Saver and others as Whatsapp, Snapchat, Alarm Maa, Message (SMS) Bapu. The unique concept was bound to garner attention worldwide and it did just that. The video received so much love and appreciation that they decided to come up with a second part. And trust us when we say this, it couldn't have been better. The storyline is a little different this time. While the first part talked about the obsession we all have with mobile apps, the latest version shows the apps struggling to keep up with Supriya's (Sainee Raj) mother and her mobile usage habits. Or should we say every other parent's mobile habits? Broadcasting 'Good Morning' messages to everyone in the contact list along with forwarding every piece of “news” that goes viral- sounds familiar doesn't it? This extremely common habit of parents makes Whatsapp (Kumar Varun) go crazy with overload of information. He returns as ‘SMS bapu' in the later part of the video and without a doubt his performance is exceptional. © AIB © AIB But on the other hand, Tinder and Instagram have had to take a back seat. Chances are that most parents don't even know what ‘Tinder' is and those who do, would probably discourage its use. This leaves the very sleazy Tinder aka Mallika Dua desperate for some action. Her gaudy accent combined with the endless sexual references will make you laugh your ass off and will definitely stay with you for years to come. © AIB If her Instagram role isn't enough for you then here's some good news. She plays a double role as she comes back in the video as ‘Matrimonial' so you get to see a little more of her! © AIB There's also the character of ‘Amazon' who is tired of the unhealthy habit of Supriya's mother as she keeps adding items to her cart but never goes ahead with the purchase. © AIB Kaneez Surka is at her best too as she retains her semi- Italian accent for her Instagram impression from the first part. © AIB The mother played by Sheeba Chadda is the cherry on top of the cake as we see a different side to this otherwise adorable mother. © AIB Prepare yourself for a treat and watch the video here:
  4. <p>Priyanka Chopra is literally taking over Hollywood. There is not a single day when we don't hear about what she's up to.</p> <p>And now she is in news in both parts of the world after she announced her collaboration with Madhuri Dixit for a comedy series based on dhak dhak girl's life in the US.</p> <p style=" margin:8px 0 0 0; padding:0 4px;"><a style=" color:#000; font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:14px; font-style:normal; font-weight:normal; line-height:17px; text-decoration:none; word-wrap:break-word;" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BXIuTRMAKK9/" target="_blank">One of the favorite parts of my job, is to be able to tell stories across genres, languages and to a varied audience. Today I'm happy to share with you another step I've taken on that creative journey, in my role as a producer. This particular story is one of a few Hollywood projects that I am currently developing. The incredible Madhuri Dixit's real life has been the inspiration behind Sri Rao's amazing story, and I can't wait to work with the both of them to see how this will pan out. Again, it's unchartered territory for me, producing a show for American television but I'm blessed to have a great set of partners in Mark Gordon Company's Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper, along with ABC Studios to develop and produce this very fun idea. After having an incredible experience with them on Quantico, this seemed like a perfect extension of our partnership. I've only just begun and there is little I can share at this point about any of the projects but I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work. Stay tuned. @abcnetwork #NickPepper #MarkGordon @madhuridixitnene @newyorksri @purplepebblepictures</a></p> <p style=" color:#c9c8cd; font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:17px; margin-bottom:0; margin-top:8px; overflow:hidden; padding:8px 0 7px; text-align:center; text-overflow:ellipsis; white-space:nowrap;">A post shared by Priyanka Chopra (@priyankachopra) on Jul 29, 2017 at 8:56am PDT</p> <p>PeeCee is literally doing everything possible. She is a brilliant actor, she can sing and now she is all geared up to produce her first American TV show as well. Looking at her we just wonder, if there is anything in this world that she can't do?</p> <p>Well, we ain't the only one who feels smitten by her achievements. While many are obsessing over Priyanka's achievements, YouTube sensation Mallika Dua is disappointed over the fact that no matter how much work you do, it is still nothing when compared to what our desi girl does.</p> <p>When everyone was congratulating the 'Baywatch' actress for her upcoming venture, Mallika tweeted and wrote, "I feel exhausted, demotivated and overworked all the time. Then I see @priyankachopra and I feel like a chappal dipped in keechad."</p> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">I feel exhausted, demotivated and overworked all the time. Well, Mallika we feel the same. When Priyanka read this, she gave a interesting reply to her giving us more inspiration!</p> <p>She tweeted, “@MallikaDua I dunno what Chappal dubaoed in keechad feels like in your heart, but just Wear blinders and keep running then wash it off"</p> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">.<a href="https://twitter.com/MallikaDua">@MallikaDua</a> I dunno what Chappal dubaoed in keechad feels like in your heart, but just Wear blinders and keep running ðð½âï¸then wash it off <a href="https://t.co/tL4pQrY3E1">https://t.co/tL4pQrY3E1</a></p> — PRIYANKA (@priyankachopra) <a href="https://twitter.com/priyankachopra/status/892040612513550340">July 31, 2017</a> <p>To which Mallika gave a brilliant reply saying, "Such. And we totally enjoyed this banter between two of the most entertaining peoples.</p> <p></p> <p></p>
