  1. When people want bigger arms, they generally focus on their biceps only. That's because biceps are the most shown off muscle on the planet! But this is exactly where you are wrong. To have huge guns, you need to concentrate more on your triceps than biceps. If you don't know this already, let me tell you that around 66% of your arm is made up of triceps and the rest is biceps. As the name itself suggests, there are three muscle heads in the tricep muscle group unlike two in biceps muscle group. Today, I am going to tell you exercises which will help you get bigger and thicker triceps. The Anatomy Of Triceps Since there are three heads of the tricep muscle group, it is important that we include an exercise for every head. The three heads in the triceps are the lateral head (that makes the horseshoe shape), the medial head and the long head. While extending the elbow and straightening the arm is done primarily by the lateral and medial head, the long head is responsible for adduction along with the lats (back muscles). Now, there are various exercises that can be done to isolate the triceps but I'll tell you the 5 most effective in this article. 1) Close Grip Bench Press © YouTube This exercise is performed on a normal bench press. The movement is identical to a bench press with the only difference being the grip with which the barbell is grabbed. While in a bench press, the grip is more than shoulder width apart and the grip of arm is very close. The distance between the hands will be the distance that equals a little more than both thumbs placed together on the bar. 2) Skull Crusher © YouTube This exercise is done on an isolated flat bench. Though you can use the normal barbell, ideally, the EZ Bar is recommended because of better impact on the lateral head of the triceps. The starting position of the exercise is when your arms are perpendicular to the floor. Slowly lower the barbell towards your head till it reaches just above your face and then push it back to where you started. You can perform heavy sets as well as drop sets in this exercise. 3) Pulley Pushdown © YouTube I am sure that this exercise must already be a part of your exercise regime, if not; you've missed the Universal Exercise of triceps. Drop sets, heavy sets, partial sets, eccentric sets you name it, every form of workout can be done on the pulley machine to work your triceps. The best part is that you don't even need a spotter for it. Since the pulley and knob is in front of you, you can adjust the weights by yourself accordingly. The variation for this exercise includes various other grips like the V-Bar, reverse grip, Rope Grip etc. 4) Overhead Extension © YouTube This exercise can be performed either with help of a dumbbell or using a rope in a high pulley. This exercise concentrates more on the long head, which I've seen is generally weak in a lot of people. Since folks only concentrate on pulley down, the long head of the triceps is hardly trained. A variation of this exercise includes using both hands and single hand to lift the rope or dumbbell. 5) Bench Dips © YouTube This is one of my favorite exercises as you don't even need gym equipment to perform this exercise. All you need is two benches which are almost of the same height. Place your hands on one bench and legs on the other. Now slowly lower yourself till your arms make a 90 degree angle. This is also one of the most effective exercises for triceps. You can also add weights to your lap to increase the difficulty level. 2. There is no denying that 2017 was primarily owned by superheroes, Jedis, mystical creatures and clowns who love to feast on kids. But, no matter how successful they were; it was 'action' that turned out to the ultimate winner, ruling our hearts like no one else. At least, the recently released Forbes list of top grossing actors proves the same, after actor Vin Diesel grabbed the top spot. © universal ppictures Vin Diesel defeated his 'Fast and Furious' co-star Dwayne Johnson aka 'The Rock', and 'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot to become this year's top grossing actor. According to Forbes, Diesel's 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' and 'The Fate of the Furious' collectively raked in $1.6 billion, thanks to the gigantic success of the eighth installment of 'Fast and Furious'. © paramount pictures Johnson's movies 'Baywatch', 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' and 'The Fate of the Furious', on the other hand made $1.5 billion so far. It seems, even a good star cast couldn't help save 'Baywatch' or make Johnson inch closer to beating Diesel. As 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' has hit the theatres recently, it will continue adding to his total, but for this year he has lost the crown to Diesel. Honestly, had his voiceovers from 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' as the adorable Groot been included in the picture, Diesel would have easily crossed $2 billion. © warner bros. Surprisingly (or maybe not), the third spot was taken by none other than 'Wonder Woman' actress Gal Gadot whose films, which also includes 'Justice League', made $1.4 billion globally. Her debut as Diana, the Amazonian princess and an unconquerable warrior, was undoubtedly the biggest blockbuster of summer. In fact, 'Wonder Woman' also became the highest grossing live-action movie ever directed by a woman (take a bow Patty Jenkins). Furthermore, her performance in 'Justice League' too added millions to the already huge figure that Gadot was already taking home. © walt disney Apart from Diesel, Johnson and Gadot, the list also includes Emma Watson, who shed her Hermione avatar to become Belle in this year's smashing hit 'Beauty And The Beast' and grabbed the fourth spot with $1.3 billion. The list also includes, Johnny Depp ($1.1 billion), Daisy Ridley ($1.08 billion), Tom Holland ($888 million), Chris Pratt ($864 million), Chris Hemsworth ($845 million) and John Boyega ($815 million).
  3. Back in the day when the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was still World Wrestling Federation (WWF), the popular sporting event had kids glued to the television sets to catch their favourite wrestlers in action. While some flaunted their trump card collections, others couldn't resist pulling off the popular manoeuvres of wrestlers on their friends and even on a few family members. Amongst many iconic wrestling stars including Shawn Michaels, Triple H and The Undertaker, one man reigned supreme - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Such was his aura in and out of the ring that it helped the star develop a fanbase in every corner of the globe. And, as it turns out, India is no different. © BCCL While a lot has changed over the years and he may no longer feature in the WWE, there has been no shortage to Johnson's fan following - thanks to his success in Hollywood. The 45-year-old was recently in India to promote his upcoming flick 'Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle' which is slated for release on 29 December. In a video, aimed at rekindling his love with the Indian fans, Johnson surprised everyone by talking about the country's "natural obsession" - cricket. While many would have doubted his understanding of the sport, Johnson shocked everyone by successfully identifying MS Dhoni's signature shot - The Helicopter hit. .@TheRock's in a never-seen-before avatar for the millions of ? fans! Check out what he's cooking & catch Jumanji in cinemas. @SonyPicsIndia pic.twitter.com/rZRG61XWgM — Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) December 24, 2017 Not only did he know Dhoni's iconic shot, Johnson went on to correctly identify Tillakeratne Dilshan's ramp shot and the slow bouncer. In the Q&A round that was labelled as 'What's it called with Dwayne Johnson?', the American got all the answers right. But, not before stuttering in the first set of questions. Early in the video, Johnson was seen trying hard to guess the signals of cricket umpires on the field. When he was shown an umpire signalling 'out' for the batsman, the actor answered, “You are number one”. After being told the right answer, he asked his fans to bear with him. © BCCL When shown a 'third umpire' signal, he said, it means, “It is impossible to fit your handsomeness and sexiness into one box.” For the 'no-ball', he replied, “Hey Rock, your millions and millions of your India fans are that way (while giving the signal).” When shown the signal for a 'six', according to Johnson, it meant, “Who loves The Rock? We do!” which he likened to the home run in baseball terminology, which is the national game of the US.
  4. Dwayne Johnson has been accepted into the Hollywood establishment with a Walk of Fame star LOS ANGELES: He´s been named "sexiest man alive" and "world´s highest paid film star" -- now Dwayne Johnson can celebrate being accepted into the Hollywood establishment with a Walk of Fame star. The 45-year-old football player turned wrestling pro and then actor sported a sharp black suit and was joined by longtime partner Lauren Hashian and their almost two-year-old daughter Jasmine at the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard. "I didn´t want to write anything down. I figured this is such a monumental moment and significant time for me it´s probably best I just speak from the heart and from my gut," the Herculean father-of-two said. He told cheering fans the 2,624th star on the Walk was the result of years of hard work, voicing gratitude for the opportunities he´d been afforded and the friends and family who´d helped him along the way. "This moment is so significant because it´s full circle. 2018 will mark 18 years in Hollywood and that is a very long time of blood, sweat and earning respect," he added. Johnson announced Monday on Instagram that he and Hashian were expecting a second child, hours before they stepped out for the premiere of his latest movie "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." 'The Rock' Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, paid tribute to the actor, who has entertained the possibility that he might run for president in 2020. "Dwayne said he would use me as a bar bell if I didn´t show up," Rothman joked, before describing his friend as a "global superstar with hundreds of millions of fans and billions of dollars in box office." Johnson´s recent work includes "Baywatch," "The Fate of The Furious," "Central Intelligence" and "San Andreas," as well as the HBO comedy "Ballers." Reputed to be one of the hardest-working stars in Hollywood, he has been in 14 movies in just four years, including previous installments of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, "Hercules," "Snitch," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Empire State," "Pain and Gain," and "Moana." Born on May 2, 1972, in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised in Hawaii and Pennsylvania, Johnson grew to six foot five inches (196 centimeters) and weighs 245 pounds (111 kilograms). He played defensive tackle at the University of Miami and went on to a stint on the practice roster of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 1995. Johnson became a professional wrestler in 1996, following his father, Rocky Johnson, and grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. He would become an eight-time World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment champion. Nicknamed "The Rock" due to his strength in the ring and roughhewn features, he was declared "sexiest man alive" by People magazine in November 2016. It was a good year for the actor, who was also named the world´s highest paid film star by Forbes magazine.
  5. Dwayne Johnson's life is no less than a dream. He is at the zenith of nonpareil stardom, being one of the highest grossing stars in Hollywood. A popular wrestler, someone who gets his fans on their feet when it comes to movies, Dwayne Johnson's euphoric rise has been incredibly motivational. 'The Rock' of Tinsel town is a self-made man and viewing his life entirely in an au courant frame of reference is incredibly difficult, for in a film career spanning over 16 years, Dwayne has done what many others only dream about. As per Forbes, Johnson's current net worth is $190 million. No doubt then that his appearances in “Jumanji” and “Baywatch” took his earnings to an all new level. Dwayne Johnson, the star, is one of the most handsome hunks on the planet and his life story is a perfect example of all things possible through pure hard-work. Childhood & Early Life © Pinterest Born in 1972 in California, in a family of wrestlers, Dwayne got the right environment he needed to become a professional wrestler. His father Rocky Johnson (now a retired professional wrestler) played an important role in his upbringing and professional training. Belonging to a family of wrestlers, Dwayne inherited the correct genes and had the right motivation to go for WWF (now WWE). Dwayne spent the early years of his childhood in California, after which he moved to New Zealand and back to the United States. While he was in 11th grade, he started playing football and was incredibly good at it too. However, soon his interest majorly shifted towards wrestling, and despite the fact that he could have made a good career in football; he gave it up to pursue his dreams as a fighter. Wrestling Career © Pinterest Dwayne made his WWE debut in 1996. It was the time when people started recognizing him as Rocky Malvia. Rocky's fandom was growing when his followers realized that their favorite star had a clean image which was nothing but too boring for them. His nerdy charm soon became a hurdle in his wrestling career and his own fans started rebuffing him. Soon, the audience had enough of their nerdy role model and would chant "Die, Rocky, die!" and "Rocky sucks!" during his matches. It was a change of persona that people were expecting from him. Dwayne was aware of the fact that people wanted something different and started working on his new avatar which ultimately became his lifelong identity. "The Rock" became his trademark; Dwayne Johnson metamorphosed himself into Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It was also about his unusual associations with different groups and organizations which revamped his image in every respect. He linked himself with the 'Nation of Domination', a wrestling stable whose concept was based on the Nation of Islam and the Black Panther party. People started following him as the “bad man” of the ring. It was his charisma which soon made him no less than a phenomenon. His catchphrases “If you smell what the Rock is cooking”, “It doesn't matter...” and “Jabroni” became immensely popular among the wrestling audience in the US and beyond. The Rock finally roared in WWE. Hollywood Dreams © Twitter But WWE was just a vehicle of his ongoing journey towards international fame. He soon forayed into Hollywood and his inclination towards the big screen was evident when he first starred in “The Mummy Returns” in 2001, and did justice to his role. And once he got into the game, there was no looking back. Films like “The Scorpion King” (2002), “The Rundown” (2003) and “Walking Tall” (2004) made him a renowned face in Hollywood. These films did moderately at the box office. However, at the time no one had a hint that Dwayne would become a megastar with massive earnings in the coming years. For a long time, his image in Hollywood remained that of an action hero, someone who could do high-end action-packed sequences. However, he then started focusing on roles which transformed his image to that of a family guy. To strengthen this image of a family-friendly star, Dwayne signed a film titled “The Game Plan”. For this film, he also received a nomination for 'Favourite Movie Actor' at the 2008 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Other than this he did more movies that appealed to a mass audience including “Race to Witch Mountain” (2009), “Planet 51” (2009) and “Tooth Fairy” (2010), films that did a good business and gave him an edge over others. A major turning point in Dwayne's career happened to be his association with the 2011 film “Fast Five”. Joining “The Fast and the Furious” franchise was a life-changing decision for Dwayne. After the 2011 film, he went on to star in every single film of the franchise since then. With each movie he did thereafter, only helped him grow both financially and globally, turning him into a superstar. Apart from that, his short appearances in commercially successful films like “Pain & Gain” (2013), “Hercules” (2014) and “Central Intelligence” (2016) turned out to be an add-on to his huge following he gained through these films. Dwayne is now set to star in a bunch of big films this year and the one after. He already started the year on a high note with “Fast and Furious 8” and “Baywatch”, while “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Rampage” are already the talk of the internet. Fitness Regime © Instagram Amidst his busy schedule, traveling and film promotions, Dwayne always makes sure that he follows a strict fitness regime. The Rock's workouts are awe-inspiring and incredibly tough even for a normal athlete. For “The Fate of the Furious”, Dwayne bulked up for his character Hobbs, after spending almost 2-3 hours each day in heated workouts. To gain weight for Hobbs's character, he ate seven times a day and his diet majorly consisted of meat, vegetables, and eggs. He keeps shifting his weight depending on his role in each film. “I'm stepping on set 260 lbs of the meanest, strongest and most highly funny & entertaining --- talkin' version of Hobbs the franchise has ever seen," Johnson said in one of his Instagram posts. His classic bodybuilding routine is not meant for beginners and needs to be followed by a proper dietary consultation. On days when he is shooting, he begins usually by stepping inside the gym at around 5 a.m. and indulges himself in heavy duty exercising for a fit mind and body. Johnson usually trains himself for six days a week and twice on a daily basis. The Inspiration © Instagram Time and again Dwayne has spoken about how much he loves his fans. He has been vocal about the fact that apart from whatever hard work he has done to make a mark in the industry, it is his fans and the followers from where he takes his inspiration. He never fails to surprise them by getting into different roles, eventually making them love him more. He once wrote, “Every character I play, regardless of the genre is an extension of my DNA. Even with all this character's cussing, pills, ambition, heart, flaws, integrity, struggle, success... good to see so many relate and share this same DNA. This one means a lot.” For us, he is a star who has proved his mettle and generosity, deserving every bit of fame and success he has achieved so far, inspiring millions of people throughout the world. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is truly a common man's star and a true hero who's loved and respected.
  6. Unless you live in a cave, you definitely know who Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is. The former WWE Superstar and the highest paid actor in the world travels extensively across the globe for his movies. If you follow him on social media, you'd find him uploading pictures from every continent he travels to. You can find him in Europe promoting a movie and then a few days after he's in the forests of Asia shooting another movie. This man actually does more in a day than we do in a month. He's always working! The secret behind his undying energy is nothing but his workout ethic. He never ever misses a workout. Never! While most actors build a physique for a specific movie, a character or even a movie is made keeping the Rock's physique in mind. He stays big, beefy and muscular 365 days a year. The biggest thing here that travels with him is his gym, which he calls the Iron Paradise. © Instagram The Rock performs an intense 2 hour workout session with heavy weights every morning at 5 am, no matter where he is. And to ensure he can perform heavy lifts every morning, he has an entire crew behind him that's responsible for setting up The Iron Paradise at every location he goes to. In a recent Instagram video from Vancouver, Dwayne thanked his Iron Paradise crew for putting it together, without fail, every time. He also mentioned that the Iron Paradise has over 40,000 lb (18000 Kilos) of equipment and how hard it is to move such bulk of workout equipment from place to place. Here's the post: My final day in Vancouver... sending a huge thank you to the hundreds of hard working crew responsible for always setting up my #IronParadise aka my traveling carnival in every location I film at. 40,000lbs of steal and iron. I can maintain and build upon an insane work schedule, but only due to having my anchor ready to go every morning at 5am. Grateful to the bone. Thank you guys. #MyAnchor #TravelingIronCarnival #HouseOfFreaks â ï¸ðð¾ A post shared by therock (@therock) on Nov 15, 2017 at 1:58pm PST The Rock's always been very vocal about his love for the iron and it's been over 30 years that this man has been loyal to lifting. His physique and his commitment to the hustle of pushing himself to the limit speaks volume about his astronomical fan following and fame. If there's one man whose Instagram can lift your mood up from the ruins, it's got to be his! We love you, Rock! 7. Before you read this and start spewing hate, let me tell you that I am just as much a fan of 'The Rock' as anyone who grew up watching the legend. From every WWE match to his not so anticipated start in Hollywood, I have tracked Johnson's rise for over 12 years now. It's 2017 and we are a long way from the 90s. Dwayne is bigger (incredibly jacked) and richer. Most importantly, he's more loved than he ever was. Social media has brought his fans closer to him and this has converted to Hollywood success. He's not only the highest paid actor on the planet but also one of the least hated actors as well. Noone has a bad thing to say about him. All This Box-Office Success But The Reality Is That Dwayne's Movies Suck! Since his debut in 1999, The Rock's been in 37 movies. A lot of which were low budget, run-of-the-mill productions. How social media changed Dwayne's fortune at the box office is pretty evident. To give you a more precise understanding, I'll divide his Hollywood career into pre-2010 and post 2010. Now, it's needless to say how dull the internet was before 2010 and how unfathomably exciting it became after 2010. Dwayne starred in exactly 15 films between 2000 and 2010. With 'The Mummy Returns' (2001) and 'The Scorpion King' (2002), he cemented his place in Hollywood. Apart from these films, 'Doom' and 'Grid Iron Gang' were the only two movies that made a little noise at the box office. Most of these movies lacked a decent plot and any sort of character development. So, almost 10 films that he starred in, apart from the ones mentioned above, went completely unnoticed, making little to no money. Welcome the weed like growth of social media. From 2010 to this day, the Rock has his hands on more than 22 movies, most of which, like the 'Pain and Gain', 'Fast and Furious 6', 'Hercules', 'Central Intelligence' and 'Furious 7' were billion dollar babies. You see the difference here? The more The Rock interacted with his followers, the more money his movies made. Still Don't Agree? Here Is A List Of Dwayne's Movies You Probably Haven't Even Heard Of Beyond the Mat (1999) Longshot (2000) Be Cool (2005) Reno 911!: Miami (2007) Southland Tales (2007) The Game Plan (2007) Get Smart (2008) Planet 51 (2009) Tooth Fairy (2010) Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010) The Other Guys (2010) You Again (2010) Faster (2010) Snitch (2013) Empire State (2013) Take your time to remember them all. I'll wait ! The Masses Love The Rock For The Magnificent Person He Is, Not Because Of The Movies He Makes Social Media is brutal and judgmental. Make a wrong move and you will be trolled, roasted and memed' out. Dwayne though, is immune to all the social media negativity and hate. There's not a single reason that anybody has to hate him. Not one! People already loved him and with the intervention of social media, they are expressing their love for him more personally than ever before. Even when he was tossing wrestlers in the ring and not making bank at the box-office, he was still the people's champ. He's out there with all his humbleness and gratitude, greeting his fans like family. You know it and the internet knows it. His attitude towards life is so positive that it can brighten up the bleakest of days. Have you personally seen a public personality as famous and as busy as him taking out the time to consistently put out stuff on social media? Nope, there isn't any. He is one with his fans and this is what drives his success and money at the box office, not his acting skills. He's Always Been A Great Entertainer But Never A Great Actor People loved the Rock in the ring. That was him entertaining people. He's probably the best entertainer in showbiz in the past 15 years. From his social media accounts, interviews to his public interactions, he's a fountain of entertainment that just keeps on giving but in no way is he a stellar actor. He's a decent one but not an outstanding actor. Then why is he paid the most for being an actor? Good question. The answer to this is exactly what I explained above. People flock to watch his films to show him their love. Just like he loves them, they give it back with sold-out shows of his movies. He's Not An Actor But A People's Champ Who Will Remain So No Matter What Dwayne is a shining example of what giving love to fans can do. They don't care about his acting skills. They just go and buy the ticket because they love to see him on the screen. And he gives back to them via an incredibly active social media schedule and surprise stop-bys at red lights and traffic junctions. That's a people's champ who never went to an acting school and still became the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Everybody knows his hustle right from the gutter to the penthouses and that is a story that is relatable to millions. Does all this make him a great actor? No. Does all this make him a great entertainer who you wouldn't mind seeing on the silver screen? Hell yeah!
  8. We have grown up watching 'The Rock' do a lot of things. From thrashing the life out of people both in the ring and in movies, he is more than a social figure. He is known to be a man with a wonderful heart who not only gives fitness goals a new name, but also lights up the lives he touches. There are a select few celebrities who use their image to make this world a positive place by motivating and influencing their fans, and Dwayne is definitely on that list. Unforgettable and inspiring day. #HoldOn ðºð¸ A post shared by therock (@therock) on Sep 11, 2017 at 9:45pm PDT One such amazing association that has stood out on Dwayne's social media has been his love and affection for Vancouver in Canada. He's often shared his tales of struggle and how the city helped him reach where he is today. Sometimes the goal we've worked our ass off for years is never achieved. Then years later we look back and realize, it's the best thing that NEVER happened. 9. 10. Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson is one of the biggest stars on the planet. After a successful career as a professional wrestler, he flawlessly transitioned into an incredible actor and ‘rocked' the movie industry. And, just as flawlessly, he has managed to transform his infamous Brahma Bull tattoo that had been on his right arm for about 20 years. Even though it had been his signature ink since his wrestling days, the ink wasn't that impressive, to say the least. © The Inquisitr But, not anymore! It took 3 sessions and 22 hours of painful hardwork under Nikko Hurtado's inky needle, but the tattoo has been completely transformed. Dwayne Johnson himself has deemed it the ‘evolution of the bull' and it actually looks really cool. Evolution of the bull begins w/ @nikkohurtado. I've engrained this bull in my DNA for two decades. My core. Humbly, it's also become a symbol of strength, resilience, heart, power and defiance to so many people around the world. I got this tattoo when I was just a kid. Now I need it to reflect me as a man. All my ink is a rite of passage and spiritual and the MANA (power and spirit) has to be right before we begin. Mana is strong with world renowned Nikko. We talked for hours about the man I am today, compared to who I once was. And who I'll always be. We all desire to grow and evolve. The mana is right.. let the blood and pain begin. #EvolutionOfTheBull #WheresMyVicodin A post shared by therock (@therock) on Aug 7, 2017 at 5:36pm PDT After the tattoo was done, he posted a comparison picture on Instagram, with a lengthy and poetic explanation in the caption of what this new ink represents and means to him. Evolution of the bull. Blood, sweat & years. After 3 sessions and 22hrs of tattooing with world renowned @NikkoHurtado, the story's almost done.. Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. From the cracks and heavy damage in the bone representing life's hard lessons I've learned over the years. Just like scars and wrinkles - I'm so grateful to have 'em because they're earned. To the horns, not pointing up or out to the side, but pointing straight ahead representing relentless energy and forward progress. The core and anchor of this image is in the eye. Look closely and you'll find the life, energy, power and you'll feel the MANA (spirit). The eye tells the story of a disruptive positive energy always ready to dent the universe. Depending on the light and angle, sometimes the energy's subtle and sometimes it's glaring. But it's always alive and ready to disrupt the universe and love and protect my family and all things I love with intense passion and gratitude. Cheers to living, learning, evolving and growing. And to the positive disrupters ready to dent the universe. #EvolutionOfTheBull #TheDisrupter #TheMana #NowLetsBreakOutTheTequila A post shared by therock (@therock) on Aug 11, 2017 at 8:26am PDT He wrote, “Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. Everyone always sees what is on the outside what is shown of our lives no one truly knows behind the scenes. @therock is a true gentleman how I came to tattoo him I do not know. I am a truly blessed human. (Thank you Matt) the process of tattooing a client starts with a meeting always finding out what it is they want. Tattoos are markings on the body that are with you for ever. Imagine choosing a birthmark. The tattoo has to represent you, who you are and what you feel, your image and your personality. @therock and I spend time going back and fourth showing him different ideas, different horns different mana. I always want to do what I want to do but I always have to remind myself that when I tattoo a client it is for them and theirs to wear the rest of their lives. I am excited to tweak and build this tattoo a little further after it heals. When I complete a tattoo in one sitting it is never finished my clients all know this to well. I let the tattoo heal, live, age a little before I come back to it and layer it see what it needs to give it the sculpting or life it requires to be abandoned because we all know art is never finished it is simply abandoned. I am grateful I am blessed I have been given the new gift of knowing about "Mana" thank you world your are nothing short of amazing. Thank you @therock till next time same channel same page! 11. Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson has had a long journey. From struggling to get into his college football team to winning 17 wrestling championships to becoming one of the most loved Hollywood stars, The Rock has come a long way. The man works out like a beast and has never shied away from hard work. © Instagram/The Rock In a moving post on Instagram, The Rock shared how his father taught him an unforgettable lesson in life – one that made him the man he is today. He revealed how his father pushed him to strive harder in life, to give his everything to a task at hand. To sweat it out even if it meant getting his ass whipped. He says: “Leaving it all...means you give every f*cking ounce of effort you can, to give the best performance you can give. Whatever it is you do, whatever job you have.. at the end of the day, leave it all there.” Leave it all on the set. Back when I was a punk kid my dad would take me to the gym on weekends and kick the shit outta me in the weight room and on the wrestling mats. He'd say you didn't get up early to come here and give half ass effort. Leave it all in the gym. Years later when I played ball at The U, we applied the same principles: we left it all on the field. When I became a pro wrestler, that was part of my nightly pre match prayer. Asked for the strength to leave it all in ring - whether I was wrestling in flea markets or sold out stadiums. Leaving it all...means you give every f*cking ounce of effort you can, to give the best performance you can give. Whatever it is you do, whatever job you have.. at the end of the day, leave it all there. Rampage has been the most physically grueling role of my career. Got my ass kicked and handed back to me the whole movie. But I'm grateful to go to bed 💯 satisfied I left it all on the set. His life hasn't been easy but the man overcame hardships and taught his son a lesson in strength. Dwayne shared his dad's heartbreaking story last year, when he bought his father a car as a Christmas gift. He says in the post: “In front of the entire family, my dad's mom looked at him and said get out. He was 13yrs old and now homeless. That f*cked up true story happened in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1954.” Bought my dad a Christmas gift and surprised him. He's had a hard life. This one felt good. My dad, Rocky Johnson is a minimalist. Always has been. Never asks me for much and over the years his needs are always the barest. Crazy story, my dad's dad died when he was 13yrs old. That Christmas, my dad's mom had her new boyfriend over for Christmas dinner. Her boyfriend got drunk and pissed on the turkey. My dad went outside, got a shovel, drew a line in the snow and said if you cross that line I'll kill you. The drunk crossed it and my dad laid him out cold as a block of ice. Cops were called. They told my dad's mom that when her boyfriend regains consciousness, he's gonna kill your son so one of them has got to go. In front of the entire family, my dad's mom looked at him and said get out. He was 13yrs old and now homeless. That f*cked up true story happened in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1954. He needed the bare minimum then, just like does now. Over the years, I've moved him into a big home, got him trucks to drive - which he'll literally drive into the ground until I get him something else. Hell, I'll get him anything he wants, but the SOB just won't ask;). Every Christmas, I always think about that story and my dad having every odd stacked against him at 13, but he fought thru it and still made something of himself. Makes me appreciate his struggle and hard work. Also, makes me appreciate the fun times he would beat my ass in the gym so bad when I was 13 and say "If you're gonna throw up, go outside.. and if you're gonna cry, then go home to your mother". I hated it then, but I embrace it now. Made a man outta me. Without pissing on my turkey. 😂👍🏾. Just a small way of saying thank you dad and Merry Christmas! #DwantaClaus🎅🏾 A post shared by therock (@therock) on Dec 30, 2016 at 10:15am PST The Rock has often been vocal about his admiration and love for his father. The Insta-video is now going viral, for all the right reasons, obviously!
  17. This year (at least the first half) is going to be known for two reasons primarily. First, for answering the question the world had been desperately waiting for – Why Katappa killed Baahubali? Second, for ruining one of the most kickass action movies in the history of Hollywood, with the latest installment of the ‘Fate of the Furious’. No matter how much you criticize us, we can’t help but call this movie a substandard one as compared to previous flicks. Although we should praise the main cast who saved their dignity with some decent acting. Of the brilliant star cast, there is one specific actor who looks nothing short of a demigod. His muscle and might, at times, even makes men drool. He is Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. © Facebook But, this time we are going to talk about someone who deserves equal respect as The Rock and works equally hard to turn action scenes into a reality. Myles Humphus is the six-foot-three stunt double of Johnson and a former MMA fighter, who from time to time steps in to perform some athletic and dangerous tasks on his behalf. Inverse got in touch with Humphus for a special interaction. He was raised in rural Georgia, from where Hollywood only looks like a far-fetched dream, yet it came true for Myles. He has earlier worked as a stunt double for The Rock in movies like ‘Hercules’, ‘Furious 7’ and HBO’s ‘Ballers’. While most say looks matter for an actor, in Myles’ case, it was his 18-inch biceps that helped him bag roles. He will soon be seen in ‘Jumanji’ and ‘Rampage’. © Facebook Humphus was spotted by Hollywood stunt coordinator Doug Crosby during his MMA days. From there, his life took a turn for the better. Humphus’ first gig was with Saturday Night Live. Later, he got in touch with Dwayne Johnson’s cousin and official body double, Tanoai Reed and eventually got a role in ‘Hercules’. However, right before the project, he tore his kneecap while working on ‘Tracers’. In this situation, it was obvious that the role in ‘Hercules’ would be tough to hold on to, yet he flew to Budapest where the shoot took place, popped some antibiotics, bandaged himself and performed all the stunts. The life of a stunt double is filled with tons of painful hurdles, yet it’s amazing to see how they fight through each of them and teach us some lessons on hard work in the process. © IMDB For Humphus, this major source of inspiration is The Rock, although he did mention a couple more names in his ‘thank you’ list. “DJ is inspirational. He’s all about focus. You can’t slack when he’s around. He’s not like some actors who show up and give a half-assed (effort),” he said. Although we all know Reed as The Rock’s official stunt double, Humphus too, leaves no stone unturned in proving his mettle on screen while performing for him. Humphus trains extensively in boxing, gymnastics, and calisthenics but does not copy Johnson’s iconic weight-heavy routine. Surprisingly, he doesn’t lift too many weights and reportedly runs a 4.42 40-yard dash. Although Humphus is doing a great job as Johnson’s body double, his real interest lies in acting. However, because of his built and looks, he often gets roles of the Bodyguard, the Bouncer or the Military guy. In his words, ‘Big Scary Guy’ and he clearly doesn’t want to be stuck to such roles. © IMDB Currently, Humphus is writing two screenplays, one titled ‘Lucifer’ where he will play the main character. Talking about his stint in Hollywood, he said that people love sincerity.
