  1. Humankind is capable of so much worse than murder and treason, and these stories of cruelty endured by gang members as part of their initiation rituals are the only proof you need. Not only are these some of the most insane and dangerous gangs the world over, their gang rituals will make you tremble with fear too. 1. MS-13 © daily star When it comes to MS-13 nothing is too brutal. They have a series of disturbing rituals. MS-13 makes the new members withstand 13 seconds of a bestial beat down by elders of the gang. The members who aren't involved in the beating enjoy the countdown of 13 seconds which is almost always slower than the clock. The dedication of MS-13 group members is often calculated with the face tattoos they fashion. Certain members even have the letters 'MS' tattooed across their face. MS-13 is one of the only gangs in the world which accepts female recruits. But it is definitely a disgusting trade. Those who wish to join are expected to have *** with multiple gang members. In a particular case in New York, the members were also found guilty of sacrificing teenagers in a satanic ritual. They raped three girls all in the age range of 15-16 and pounded them with baseball and machetes. 2. Knights Templar Cartel © guradianlibertyvoice The Knights Templar's initiation ritual involves the consumption of the heart of a human child. That is considered as a proof of their loyalty. A similar ritual is performed by Latin Kings. They pressurize the new members to perform cannibalism. 3. Junky Funky Kids © warpedspeed The Junky Funky Kids are one of many gangs in the Cape Flats region of Cape Town, South Africa. They are amongst the man gangs who recruit children with difficult living situations. Any child who wishes to join the gang is expected to walk a certain distance with elder members occupying both sides of the path. They are not standing to welcome the child, anything but that. This tradition is called as the 'jumped in' or 'beat in' where new recruits are expected to survive the beating and make it to the end. Those members aren't standing unarmed; they carry planks, clubs and other weapons to give the child a real beating. 4. Roto Rituals © gigazine Roto gang members created a ritual where they made the new recruits watch the cruel massacre of another guilty member to cause fear. It was this very ritual that destroyed the gang when a new recruit couldn't stand the slaughter of another member and informed the police. 5. Baptized With Human Waste © Pinterest Hunter S. Thompson is an acclaimed writer of a nonfiction novel Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. During the time he spent with The Hell's Angel gang to research for his book he came across a disturbing ritual. He stated that every new member has to get dumped by a mixture of urine and faeces (collected from more senior members of the gang). 6. Yubitsume © scmp Yakuza is known for its traditional practices. However, their punishments rituals are the most infamous ones. If a member is found guilty he will be asked to follow Yubitsume ritual which involves self-amputation of their left little finger. 7. Umbrella Test © chaostrophic Numbers gang is a South African prison gang with the members identified by their inmate number. They have a hierarchy of membership. The type of member you will become is decided based on a question; what would you do if it were raining and you had just one umbrella with another gang member? If your answer is that you will share. You are made the male prostitute of the gang and if you dared to answer that you will stand in the rain with another member then you have to attack a white prison guard. 8. Fireworks At Work © riodoce This ritual isn't practiced by one particular gang instead by most gangs of Taiwanese background. A ritual dating back to 1970s, it is generally practiced to determine a new gang leader. The rules are simple; the last man capable of withstanding the onslaught of fireworks becomes the leader. 9. Kill A Man © dailybeast It's news to none that Aryan Brotherhood dominates prisons of the United States of America. Reports of the Federal Bureau of Investigation suggests that the population of The Aryan Brotherhood accounts for less than 0.1% and still are held responsible for 25% of federal prison murders. A former member admitted that the initiation process of the gang involves killing another man. He recalled his experience saying that he stabbed a fellow inmate 37 times in the presence of guards and other inmates. 10. Chinese Triads: Strawberry Smoothie © Viva-LatiNUS The Chinese branch of the infamous Triads gang proves the stereotype of Asian gang brutality true with this particular ritual. Those who wish to be a part of the Chinese Triads are served a welcome drink of "strawberry smoothie". Not the kind your mother makes, one made with the blood of their senior members.
  2. A trilogy like the 'Ocean's' films is hard to match up to. So obviously, when we heard that there is a new Ocean's movie coming, and with an all-new cast, expectations were exceedingly high. Now, if you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you'd know that Ocean's 8 is coming and it'll feature an all-female cast. Yes, you read that right. In case you are disappointed, let us stop you right there. The all-female cast is no like other- Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. Impressed now? We definitely are. Just a few days back, we got our first look at the poster of the movie and that was enough to set the internet on fire. (c) Warner Bros Although the poster got mixed reactions from the audience, there is no denying that everyone was awaiting the trailer. The filmmakers went ahead and released a small teaser yesterday to give us a hint as to what one can expect. We see the absolutely stunning cast pulling off what one might call the greatest heist of all time. The teaser is short and gives us a taste of what's to come but, finally, we have the full trailer for us to feast our eyes on! Check it out. Sandra Bullock plays Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney's character Danny. After getting out of jail, she recruits the other seven women to help her pull off a jewellery heist at the annual Met Gala in New York. The film looks like a ton of fun and will showcase what these 8 women have to offer!
  3. It is highly unlikely that you haven't seen at least one of the movies from the 'Ocean's' trilogy and it is also highly unlikely that they didn't make it to your favorites list. Warner Bros Seventeen years ago, George Clooney along with ten of his very handsome friends took down three Vegas casinos in 'Ocean's 11' and we were all blown over. Now, we have an all-female cast all set to do something similar. And that all-female cast has got some of the most talented and beautiful actresses- Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. If this doesn't equal sheer epicness, we don't know what does. Sandra Bullock would play Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney's Danny. After getting out of jail, she recruits the other seven women to help her pull off a jewellery heist at the annual Met Gala in New York. To give us a little sneak-peek, Warner Bros. released the first poster of the upcoming 'Ocean's 8' with the star-studded cast and it is slick AF. Clad in coats and stunning sunglasses, this poster has made us pretty sure about the fact that a gang of thieves has never looked this good. Have a look: Warner Bros The poster comes up with what might be the best tagline of the year- “Every con has its pros”. Simple and genius! If this still doesn't excite you, then here's more news. Reportedly, apart from the already brilliant line-up, the cast is also set to include Olivia Munn, Dakota Fanning, Richard Armitage, Katie Holmes, James Corden, Adriana Lima, Kim Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Anna Wintour. Phew! So what's better than seeing 8 gorgeous women pulling off a top-secret heist? Seeing so many gorgeous women coming together on screen. Also, the movie would feature Matt Damon, reprising his role as Linus Caldwell, with Carl Reiner also said to have a cameo as his Ocean's Eleven character. Twitter And quite expectedly, as soon as the poster came out, Twitter users went crazy. Seeing the Ocean's 8 poster got me excited and makes me believe that 2018 will be better than 2017 but then there's #NetNeutrality so.... ð¤·ð½ https://t.co/Lu2edrVpEY — Kluh â¡ð¥ (@bluesKLUH) December 15, 2017 THE OCEAN'S 8 CAST IS BEYOND INCREDIBLE !!! 4. SOFIA: Bulgarian authorities have smashed a gang suspected of smuggling migrants into Western Europe, prosecutors said in a statement on Wednesday. Eight people were charged with smuggling offences after they transported migrants from Turkey into Romania, and then to Hungary and Austria, the statement said. Six members of the gang were detained following a coordinated operation in Sofia and the Danube towns of Vidin and Lom on Tuesday. The migrants had paid between 4,000 euros ($4,700) and 6,000 euros each, the prosecutors said. Bulgaria has built a fence on its border with Turkey and has bolstered its border controls to prevent inflows of illegal migrants.
  5. File Photo LAHORE: Two suspects ? alleged to be members of a motorcycle robbers' gang ? were taken into custody for questioning from Batapur, Wagah, late Thursday night, police officers at the area's check-post said. The arrestees were detained during a search operation law enforcement agencies carried out Thursday in the Batapur area, security officials disclosed, adding that the two were identified as Shehzad and Asif. 6. Mexican soldiers stand guard during a clash between members of drug gangs and the military in Acapulco, Mexico, June 6, 2009. AFP/Claudio Vargas/Files MEXICO CITY: The Mexican military fought back against an armed attack in the violent southwestern state of Guerrero on Saturday night, leaving eight suspected gang members and one soldier dead, authorities said on Sunday. At around 11 PM, troops were making their rounds in the city of Teloloapan, about 250 kilometres (155 miles) from Mexico City when they came under gunfire from suspected gang members dressed in fake military uniforms, Roberto Álvarez Heredia ? a spokesman for the Guerrero Coordinating Group ? said in a statement. The military secured two vans painted in camouflage, weapons, and uniforms, authorities said. A soldier was wounded in the confrontation and died afterwards from his injuries. The public prosecutor?s office in Guerrero ? home to the resort city of Acapulco on Mexico?s Pacific coast ? has begun an investigation into the attack, authorities said. Violence has spiked in Guerrero over the past decade as a growing number of criminal gangs vie for control of crops of opium poppies and for drug-trafficking routes.
  7. Police officers stand guard after suspected gang members attacked Roosevelt Hospital in Guatemala City, Guatemala, August 16, 2017. REUTERS/Luis Echeverria GUATEMALA CITY: At least seven people were killed and 12 others injured on Wednesday after suspected gang members attacked a hospital in the capital in a bid to free a jailed associate who went there under police supervision for a checkup, officials said. "Anderson Daniel Cabrera, a gang member from the Mara Salvatrucha, was coming for a medical review," police spokesman Jorge Aguilar said, adding the suspected gang members "are suspected of wanting to rescue him." Police arrested five of seven suspected gang members who were armed with assault rifles when they attacked Guatemala City's Roosevelt Hospital, although Cabrera escaped, Aguilar told reporters. Cabrera had been jailed since late 2013. "The search for those responsible will continue and they will see the law enforced. These are terrorist acts," Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales told reporters. Among the seven people killed were three security guards and a hospital janitor, said Edwin Bravo, director of the San Juan de Dios hospital where the injured were transferred. Patients on crutches and in stretchers and wheelchairs were evacuated from the hospital as police officers searched for other attackers. Hallway floors were stained with blood and walls were pocked with bullet holes, according to a Reuters witness on the scene. Like El Salvador and Honduras, Guatemala struggles with endemic gang violence, especially from the powerful Mara Salvatrucha, also known as MS-13, and its rival Calle 18, who sow terror across Central America.

  9. "Anjali aur Rahul ka fir se jhagda ho gaya," this dialogue from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' is enough to remind us of the beautiful friendship the duo shared in the film. Ever since we remember watching Bollywood movies, friendship has always remained a vital theme. There are tons of movies which are dedicated to friendship. There are movies that have explored some complexities in friendship while some have presented the real life experience on-screen that each one of us can relate to. Indian films have given us friendship goals over the years. Be it Jai-Veeru in ‘Sholay' or our favourite trio in ‘Dil Chahta Hai', B-town movies are all about special friendship and here are 12 movies that literally redefine what friendship is supposed to be like. Don't be surprised if by the end of this list, you end up calling your BFF over and watching one of these movies: Dil Chahta Hai (2001) How can a list of best Bollywood films based on friendship ever start without ‘Dil Chahta Hai' on top? Look around and we bet your group definitely has one Akash, Sameer or Sidharth. Because these were not just characters but real people like us. This movie was the reason why we decided to reconnect with all our bygone friends. Anand (1971) While the above-mentioned movie is B-town's favourite, this film is my personal favourite. ‘Anand' isn't just a story about random friendship but it is much beyond that. The titular role is played by Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna who plays the role of a terminally-ill patient. Anand teaches his teacher who eventually become his friend, the true meaning of life and how one should live it to the fullest. Here's one lesson for all of us as Anand would have said, “Babu Moshai Zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi.. Maut ke darr se agar Zinda rehna chodhu, to maut kisse kehte hain? Babu Moshai jab tak zinda hoon, tab tak mara nahi hoon. Jab marr gaya, saala mein hi nahi. Toh phir darr kiss baat ka.” This is one of those stories that will stay with you forever and ever. Don't know about anyone else, but I am cent percent going to watch this movie tonight. Dosti (1964) This is one of the oldest Bollywood films that I can recall on friendship. This movie defines the saying ‘a friend in need, is a friend indeed.' Must watch for all those who aim to understand what friendship should be all about. 3 Idiots (2009) Is there anyone who hasn't seen this movie? If yes, then bro you aren't supposed to live in this world! This story of Rancho, Raju, and Farhan is all about what true friendship is supposed to be like. It's funny, emotional, touching and a film that you can watch a zillion times. The USP of the film is the bond they share that reminds you of your gang that was exactly this way. Sholay (1975) “Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge. Todenge dam magar tera saath na chhodenge.....” this Bollywood classic is one of the most watched and talked films of the century. You might not have watched it but you have obviously heard about it. This tale of Jai and Veeru (played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra) is too amazing and memorable. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) This is the film that gave many of us friendship goals. Three friends who go out for a bachelor trip and how the journey changes the lives of Arjun, Imran and Kabir. It's a story that touched all the right cords of our heart. This trio makes us want to take that trip and experience the change as well! Andaz Apna Apna (1994) It was Amar Prem's banter that won millions of hearts. A film that we will always remember, because this is how friends are in real life! Rock On! (2008) This story about four friends and things that each one of them goes through is so relatable that you feel like you're looking at your own life on the 70mm screen. How many of your friends stand by you at the time of difficulties and despite all the misunderstanding, your friendship wins? Yes, that's what ‘Rock On' is all about. Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) Have you ever seen a story of friendship between a goon and his loyal mate? Well, this is one of those stories—the chemistry between Circuit and Munna is so magnificent that you will just fall in love with these two. Wake up Sid (2009) This film isn't dramatic or over the board. It's so natural that every millennial can relate to it. It's about Sid and Ayesha and how she makes Sid responsible, sensible and independent about things in his life. She isn't someone who is all into him, but she is someone who stands beside him and helps him find his way. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013) Kabir, Naina, Aditi and Avi, this is that perfect gang that lives together and build up memories together. This film tells you how despite having everything in life if your friends are missing, your happiness is incomplete and you should value them before you regret it. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) "Pyar dosti hai ... agar woh meri sab se achchi dost nahin ban sakti, to main usse kabhi pyar kar hi nahi sakta ... kyun ki dosti bina toh pyar hota hi nahin ... simple, pyar dosti hai." From making Friendship's Day famous to getting those bands in trend, this film talked about friendship in a beautiful manner. Well, yes there are some things that ruined the plot. However, we love the bromance between Anjali and Rahul. We have listed out just a few of our favourites, but there are tons of movies that celebrate friendship and its meaning. There are many more beautiful stories. Let us know which one is your favourite and which you plan to watch to go down the memory lane.

  12. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrest a man in San Clemente, California, US, May 11, 2017. REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson/File Photo WASHINGTON: US immigration agents are planning nationwide raids next week to arrest, among others, teenagers who entered the country without guardians and are suspected gang members, in a widening of President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigrants. The raids are set to begin on Sunday and continue through Wednesday, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters. The teenagers targeted will be 16- and 17-years-old. The raids represent a sharp departure from practices during the presidency of Barack Obama. Under Obama, minors could be targeted for deportation if they had been convicted of crimes but were not arrested simply for suspected gang activity or membership. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement that a person can be identified as a gang member if they meet two or more criteria, including having gang tattoos, frequenting an area notorious for gangs and wearing gang apparel. The agency said it does not comment on plans for future law enforcement operations, but that it focuses on individuals who pose a threat to national security and public safety. The memo instructing field offices to prepare for the raids was dated June 30. A Department of Homeland Security official speaking on background confirmed on Friday the raids were still scheduled to take place, though ICE could still change its plans. Trump, who campaigned on the promise of tough immigration enforcement, has made deporting gang members, especially those belonging to the El Salvador-based Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, a top priority. "You have a gang called MS-13. They don't like to shoot people. They like to cut people. They do things that nobody can believe," Trump said at a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last month. In a May speech, the president promised the gang would be "gone from our streets very soon, believe me." 'This is troubling' Although children can be deported like adults, US immigration law considers minors arriving at the border without a parent or guardian particularly vulnerable and gives them additional protections. Minors apprehended entering the country without a guardian are placed in custody arrangements by US Health and Human Services, often with a family member living in the United States. Law enforcement agencies maintain databases of individuals suspected of having gang affiliations, but the lists have come under fire from civil rights groups. Marielena Hincapie, executive director of the National Immigration Law Center in Los Angeles, said the databases often contain inaccurate information. "This is troubling on several levels," Hincapie said. "For one, the gang databases in places like California are rife with errors. We have seen babies labelled as potential gang members." Immigration lawyer David Leopold of Ulmer & Berne said innocent children could be swept up in the raids. "In many cases, children don?t freely decide to join a gang. They are threatened by older gang members and forced to get a gang tattoo if they live in a certain neighbourhood," he said. The raids planned for next week will also target parents who crossed the border illegally with their children and have been ordered deported by a judge, and immigrants who entered the country as children without guardians and have since turned 18, according to the memo. The document directs field offices to identify people in their areas that meet the criteria. The Obama administration targeted those two groups in 2016 raids that sought to deter a surge of illegal border crossings by families and minors that began in 2014. Obama, however, directed immigration agents to prioritise for deportation only those who had committed serious crimes or had recently entered the country.

  17. NEW DELHI: India's top court on Friday upheld the death sentences of four men convicted for the fatal 2012 gang rape of a Delhi student, an attack that triggered global outrage and national soul-searching about the treatment of women. The Supreme Court said the 23-year-old woman had suffered a "devastating hour of darkness" as it rejected an appeal against the death penalty, which was handed down in 2013. "If at all a case warrants the death sentence it is this case," said Judge R Bhanumati. Jyoti Singh, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student, was raped and left for dead by a gang of five men and a teenager after she boarded a private bus while going home from the cinema with a male friend. She died of grievous internal injuries 13 days later. The brutality of the attack, and her determination to survive long enough to identify her attackers to police, triggered large-scale street protests in Delhi. Four men were convicted in September 2013 for murder, gang rape, theft, conspiracy and "unnatural acts" after a seven-month trial in a fast-track court. A fifth man, the suspected ringleader, was found dead in jail in a suspected suicide, while the 17-year-old was sentenced to three years in a detention centre and has since been released. Sentencing the four in 2013, Judge Yogesh Khanna said the case fell into the "rarest of rare category" which justifies capital punishment in India. But defence lawyer A P Singh called the sentence "unjust" and said he would file a review petition – the next stage in the appeals process – after examining the ruling. "We are sure the court will change its decision once we appeal and justice will be delivered to the poor," he said outside the court. Round of applause Media reports said a round of applause went up in court as the judgement was read out on Friday at the end of an appeal hearing that began last year. Women's rights activist Ranjana Kumari called it a "historic judgement". "This is a historic message to all the people, the criminal mindset who wrong women, who inflict violence on women, to know that if you do something like this you will be also paying for it by the severest punishment that exists in our laws of the land," she said on Indian news channel NDTV. The accused, low-paid migrants to New Delhi, brutally assaulted Singh behind tinted windows for 45 minutes, penetrating her with an iron bar. Her injuries were so severe that she died nearly a fortnight later in a Singapore hospital. She had only briefly regained consciousness, telling family and friends of her desire to see her attackers burn to death. The case led to mass protests in Delhi and prompted the government to amend the law to introduce tougher punishments for rapists, including the death penalty for repeat offenders. Nonetheless, levels of sexual assault remain extremely high in the Indian capital, which registered 2,199 rape cases in 2015 – an average of six a day. Activists say the true number is likely much higher, with many attacks going unreported because of the social stigma attached to sexual crimes.
