  1. The gym is one place where if you apply your brains appropriately along with the brawn, you can come up looking athletic and getting stronger with every passing month. More often than not, it is the place where most lifters, recreational or bodybuilders, struggle the most trying to make progress. Dieting comparatively is the easier part. Even if you go full bro, swear by broccoli and chicken, you still get it done. But the training part is a different ball game altogether. A very simple way to figure out if you have made any progress in the gym is to compare your lifts on the big three time to time. Are your weights on the squat, the bench, and the deadlift going up with time? © Thinkstock/Getty Images And yes, not just the load but your exercise form matters as well. Many lifters pump their ego half repping the weight and inflate their pride by posting those videos no social media. Trust me you are just fooling yourself there. Have you wondered why are you struggling to progress even when you are taking every supplement your trainer suggests or eating clean all the time? Here Are The Top Five Reasons I Could Put Down: 1. Too Much Volume If you are someone who splits your routine into chest day, back day, arms day, leg day, and cardio and abs; once every week, there are high chances that you are doing too much volume. If your chest day revolves around doing 10 different exercises for the chest, you are hurting your progress. For a majority of the natural lifters, growth is much better if you hit your muscle group at least twice every week with your reps per muscle group between 40- 70 reps. That means, even if you hit the upper end and do sets of 12 reps, it is 5 to 6 sets. Too much volume will give you a good pump but in terms of making progress, it is going one step forward and then taking three steps back. 2. Muscle Confusion, Bro! If you keep changing your exercises every 2 to 4 weeks, or in some surprisingly weird cases, every week, you have started digging the grave to bury your progress. The reason is that you do not have any standard set for making progress as you are changing your exercises way too often. You will increase your chances of injury as you are constantly unlearning and relearning exercises with a probable mindset that you have to become stronger. This mindset will make you begin a new exercise with an injury prone load. 3. Tracking, Wtf Is That? A simple and a silly mistake most lifters, including me, have done at one point or the other is not tracking lifts. Though I have corrected the same long back, I still see very little to no people tracking their workout. How would you know that you have gotten richer if you don't check your balance? Same way, check and track your lifts. © Thinkstock/Getty Images 4. Nutrition Is Messed Up A simple one here, isn't it? Now dieting is tough, I get it but you make it tougher for yourself due to the notion of dieting equals broccoli, boiled chicken, boiled fish, oats, and potato. Your diet can be something you enjoy if you are smart enough. Just hit your protein and eat the way you like to hit your calorie targets. There is no BEST way to diet. 5. Sleep The most important part of the entire thing is recovery. It's just as important as your nutrition and training. Target at least 7-8 hours of sleep on regular basis. If you cannot hit that due to your work life or other commitments, bank it up. Try hitting 50 hours of sleep per week and sleep more on the weekends if you cannot hit the daily 7-hour target. Incorporate these things right away and in a few weeks time, you will feel refreshed and start gaining more strength inside the gym. 2. One look at Vishal Singh's Instagram, and you'd know that the TV actor resides in the lab: carrying out one sartorial experiment after another and excelling as often as Albert Einstein. In case you think his mash-ups are as eccentric as his blonde highlights, let's inform you, you're wrong. He may be a little too maximal sometimes, but he brings it all together, very minimally. His style is quite relatable for the masses, but in a different way. Here are seven outfits as evidence: 1. Vishal's utilitarian suit from designer, Rohit Verma is quite the hybrid we've never seen. Bonus points on the gold trim on the trousers and Telly-approved sunnies to take one sun ray after another. Shot by : @sachin113photographer Wearing : @rohitkverma A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Feb 18, 2018 at 5:38am PST 2. Honestly, going monotone can be hard sometimes. But as Singh proves here, even with the addition of a checked shirt, it can all seem like a breeze. Just splendid for a Saturday night. This is how I spent my Saturday night at the bar in the gym ðð with @bodyholics and @varunmalik08 #Bodyhorlic A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Feb 17, 2018 at 9:33pm PST 3. While this outfit may be a great example of celebrity airport fashion, practically, it might not appeal to most of us. It's a little too put together for an air journey (you'd rather be at ease). Just swipe the location and take this ensemble straight to semi-formal settings. See you soon..... A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Feb 8, 2018 at 11:03pm PST 4. Wearing pop colours is easy, only if you pair them right. And come summer/winter/the rains, don't shy away from palette experiments; there's never a bad time to stand out. Just keep the rest of the outfit minimal, much like Vishal who's gone in for just plain, classic wash jeans. It is never too late to make things right. A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Feb 11, 2018 at 8:54am PST 5. Of course, Vishal owns a pair of knee-ripped jeans (and knows the art of wearing them right). Stick to classic pairings like a biker jacket and white sneakers — stylish, harmonious and equally comfortable. Miss you guys :( @ayutingting92 @zaskia_gotix A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Feb 5, 2018 at 8:54pm PST 6. Wool coats are great investment pieces. Especially, if you're not as tall (like Vishal), they really help in stretching your body length. If you're not down for a hipster vibe with ripped jeans, stick to just a pair of trousers and a formal shirt. Easy and dapper. You may only be someone in the world, but to someone else, you may be the world. A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Jan 26, 2018 at 10:17pm PST 7. This one's a great medley of colours, prints and ethnic wear excellence. Don't know how Singh's brought the entire ensemble together, but all we know is: this one's surely worth a cop. Wish you a very very Happy Birthday my Pouta @pryanca_t â¤ï¸have a great one and have an amazing year ahead. I don't have words to tell you that how much I love you. You better come to LA to see me this year. Miss you ððð stay blessed and stay crazy ð A post shared by Vishal Singh (विशाल सिà¤à¤¹) (@vishal.singh786) on Jan 16, 2018 at 10:31am PST
  3. For today, let's turn the tables a bit. Instead of devising a list of the best-dressed men this week, let's look at how the fairer-***, fared. Because really, while gender distinctions are key players in human dressing abilities, there's a lot to learn from each other nevertheless. Following the exact theory, while a few hot lasses on the red-carpet this week wore nothing close to menswear, here's what to learn from them anyway: 1. Aditi Rao Hydari © Viral Bhayani Aditi Rao Hydari's idea is simple: don't succumb to palette-conventions. Red-carpets events could be calling for darker shades/tones, but the actress has never been in a mood to relent. As seen here, she's gone lighter, opted for Ostrich feathers as details, and turned up in a one-of-a-kind Swarovski-studded, lilac Shriya Som ensemble for the event. Takeaway For Men: Black, blues, greys are great. But not at the cost of looking like a safe, conventional dresser. If you haven't yet, go lighter on the palette while venturing out in the evening. And much like Aditi's play with ostrich feathers here, turn to soft, feathery lapels/hats for those added stakes. Be rebellious. 2. Malaika Arora Khan © Viral Bhayani The men-approved red beacon of Bollywood, Malaika Arora Khan knows how to strike the right sartorial balance. While her fits are always on point, in this outfit here, she's opted for an equipoise of sight with fluidity around her bust. It's a well-fitted outfit, sure, but thanks to the soft knot on the top-half, she isn't appearing like she's choking in it. Takeaway For Men: While the suit could be your holy grail for most formal occasions, second-skin (skinny) fits aren't always the best bets. Slip some ease into your ensembles, and relax your pieces around the right corners, striking an equilibrium of being appropriately-dressed, all while being at ease. Or, if you're wearing skinny-fitted trousers, try a robe-coat-hybrid on top. Just balance it out. 3. Disha Patani © Viral Bhayani Needless to say, Disha has worn the red-carpet uniform: glam, shiny, much like your party disco ball (of course, Manish Malhotra). But while she's looking like she's woken up to bring the others to shame (with her terrific outfit), don't think the outfit is what's making her look like a stunner. She's hot anyway. Takeaway For Men: Talking of suits on the red-carpet, if the runway is any indication, there's immense use of sequins and glitter in evening wear for men. Take Falguni and Shane Peacock's recently-concluded show, for instance, that was a glorious personification of this theory. So, the idea is simple: bring in some change in your tailoring antics — try some shine and textures on your ensembles. They won't bring you harm. 4. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan © Viral Bhayani The only meaning of the word 'Beauty', Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's ombre-like crystal-studded gown (from Kuwait-based brand 'LaBourjoisie') made a few headlines this week. Signifying our growing affinity towards ombre effect-led menswear pieces, that are available at any small/big-box store. Takeaway For Men: Let's be frank, most men don't own an ombre piece of apparel (nothing to be proud of). However, today, do us a favour and invest in an at least one piece. Whether in the form of these dope joggers, or a must-have henley T-shirt. Believe us: you need these. 5. Rekha © Viral Bhayani As usual, the eternal Rekha turned up in a drop-dead gold number on the red-carpet this week. And as a shout-out for men who're always extra, her gold potli too walked with her in tow. Let's admit that's Rekha for the world, and that's what made her special for Mr. Bachchan. Takeaway For Men: You need to wear gold at least once in your life. While it may be a big no-no for most men across the globe (including me), let's tell you: there's a way of wearing it, without looking like your grandmother's bangle. If not all-over, just try adding a bit of it in your outfit? Take a cue from Ranveer Singh here: © YouTube

But before we proceed, have a look at the video to see what exactly has made her the country's latest crush: That wink though! 5. Since the beginning of time, the bomber jacket has only consistently (and aggressively) trickled down to the masses. And the reason's obvious: it's supremely convenient, yet polished. That's why we've always glorified the piece whenever a celebrity's worn it. Plus, there are endless variants in the market, you see: embroidered, solid-colored, color-blocked or up-cycled. So much so, that if you're headed out for Valentine's Day in 2018, you gotta sport one. Or if you don't have a date, this is what will score you one. So, for our #HelpABrotherOut campaign this Valentine's, here are 7 bomber jackets that'll bring the girls to your yard: 1. Tommy Hilfiger's Tailored Blackwatch Reversible Bomber © Tommy Hilfiger Because bombers are so easy (and hassle-free) to pull off, don't get too lazy. A slight twist with a pinstriped print will go down well with the girls. Plus, men with beer bellies — this is the piece to own. Price: Rs. 9,099 Buy It Here! 2. ZARA's Floral Printed Bomber Jacket © ZARA India Fortunately for bomber jackets, the lighter the better. And much like a bouquet of red roses, the sight of a floral bomber too would tickle your lass' bones. Please her bones — wear a floral bomber jacket this Valentine's. Price: Rs. 4,990 Buy It Here! 3. H&M's Solid Black Reversible Bomber Jacket © H&M India However hard it may be to find a striking print/color/style, nothing can beat the good ol' classics. Much like a solid black bomber, that's perfect for Tinder dates or a midnight snack run. Or Valentine's 2018? Price: Rs. 2,999 Buy It Here! 4. Diesel's Dual-Coloured Bomber Jacket © Diesel We're not asking for disco ball-shine. All we're saying is: every girl has a type and that, for some, a crisp cotton/linen bomber won't do the trick. So, turn to some slight sheen — you might make the cut. Price: Rs. 24,990 Available at Diesel stores across India. 5. Scotch And Soda's Motif-Led Bomber Hybrid © Scotch and Soda One look and you'd notice something unusual here: it's neither a bomber jacket reserved for the day nor anything light. It's velvet, glam and just perfect for Valentine's. Now that's a win-win! Price: Rs. 39,459 Buy It Here! 6. GAS Man Olive Green Padded Bomber Jacket © GAS India If you're into bomber-sightings on famous men of the world, you've spotted the olive green bomber on a few (albeit with the padding). It adds ounces of volume, stakes to your style and helps score that Valentine. Woop. Price: Rs. 11,990 Buy It Here! 7. Koovs' Bomber Jacket With Strap Detail ©Koovs For our hypebeast homies, here's a deal-breaker. Stick to your gut and pay attention to detail — don't go too mundane to score a date. These straps on the back look terrific. Price: Rs. 2,199 Buy It Here!
  6. Who knew going green meant going straight to jail? Well, two men from Chennai definitely did not know that. And tbh, they had it coming for basically being so freaking stupid. If you were doing something illegal, would you like to advertise it to the whole world? Maybe, someone would, because people like to think that they won't get caught. But, no one is safe and these two learned it the hard way. BCCL I can't even comprehend how stupid you would have to be to pose with your marijuana plant and then post it on social media. But, maybe they didn't realize that their picture would go viral. So, basically what happened was that since the picture went viral, Chennai police arrested the man who was posing, along with his friend who clicked the picture. According to the police, the first guy – Kamal – was growing the plant, which is illegal in India, and then his picture was clicked by his friend, Sasikumar, who ended up sharing it online, despite Kamal warning him against it. After the police came, Kamal was probably like – Without the dancing, of course, because well they were going to jail (for the stupidest reason). The picture went viral because when it was shared, people started asking questions and wanted to know where the 'ganja garden' was in the city. Are all of them going to be arrested as well? They did ask about illegal stuff. You know the old saying 'Think before you speak'? Everyone just forget about that and just f*cking think before you post. Stop thinking that you're the exception and risk becoming the rule.
  7. The bathroom is perhaps the one place in office where we get a little time to ourselves. Unfortunately, this is India and getting time to ourselves is a dream. Here's what Indian men and women do in the bathroom.
  8. Both men and women behave very differently when they go to a salon. Here are some of the most relatable things they do.
  9. Much like humans who love chilli-garlic fries, there are some that don't. Or, even if they do — they put their metabolism to use. Ensuring, they don't end up getting fat or faced with statements like "you've gained weight". But however skinny/fat a guy may be, it's crucial for one to dress for their body type. What 'proportion play' is to overweight men, is 'layering' to the skinny. It's all about creating illusions, after all. For today, however: here's how skinny men can fool the world, in style: 1. First Off, Wear What Fits. Unless you want to be king of 'borrowed clothing', there's a hardly a chance you should be wearing baggy clothing. Or pieces that are a size too small. If you're skinny, your apparel needs to be the best-fitted and remember, not skinny-fitted. Slim-fit is the best fit for you. Else, styles that are just hanging off your body, will only make you look smaller and lankier. 2. Just Make Slim-Fits Your Holy Grail. As we said, hold slim-fitting silhouettes the closest to your heart. As general, however, for men of every body type, wearing slim-fits is crucial. The point is to let the apparel fall freely on your body, yet, ensuring they don't stretch/compress any body area. Provide a linear sight for the viewer. © Just Jared 3. Check Your Shoulder Seam. Rule #1 of knowing if the shirt's perfect fit for you, is by noticing its shoulder seam on your shoulder. If you're skinny, checking that becomes even more important. Ensure the seam sits right on your shoulder's edge. If it doesn't, you might appear like you're slouching. Likewise, loose/roomy sleeves will wreck you too. 4. Wear A 'Focus' Piece. Take, for example, a blazer or a sports coat. By happily accentuating your shoulders, they'd turn your shoulders into your strongest focal points. Making them appear bigger and bulkier than usual (owing to the padding). Result? A surprising illusion of added volume. © Viral Bhayani 5. Layer. And layer. But Not Like It's Snowing. Yeah, don't drown yourself in clothing. Wear a cardigan over a T-shirt/shirt and hop on a jacket next. That's all. It's your call to decide how thin or thick the layering pieces have to be. Start with lighter fabrics and hop heavier ones over (but keep things color-coordinated). Team this well-flattering top-half with slim-fitted apparel and some dope sneakers now. 6. A Few Fabrics Will Come Handy. Fabrics like corduroy, denim, tweed, knits will add a lot of bulk to your frame. And since it's a little chilly right now, it's literally the best excuse to throw on some volume anyway. In addition, if the fabric is textured, it's a double whammy. © Zara 7. Play With Your Neck. Think turtlenecks, zip necks, shawl collars — there's a lot to for you to consider. The point is to make your neck look shorter and sturdier. On the other hand, crew necks are great options too. They'd create the illusion of squared shoulders, and compliment your body type better (more than a scooped neckline for sure).
  10. We all have different ways of preparing for interviews. Here are a few of the different types of guys you meet in the waiting room of an interview.

  13. While a majority of us are always concerned about losing weight, there are people who are looking to put on a few kilos. People who are genetically ectomorphs usually have a tough time gaining weight and putting on muscle mass. After spending some time in the gym, they fall prey to 'desi' gym trainers who drive them into using mass gainers and eventually steroids. To gain weight, all you need is a well-structured diet with a few high-calorie foods. Below are 4 such foods. 1) Rice (c) Thinkstock The most easily accessible food on the list and can be prepared without any hassles at home. Also, it's not necessary to consume only brown rice, even white is fine. The only major difference between the two is the fibre content, which is high in brown rice. Rice takes only around 15 minutes to be cooked. One cup of cooked rice is around 150 grams and provides around 40 grams of carbs yielding around 180 calories. Such a high percentage of carbs and high calories make rice a perfect food for anyone who wants to gain weight. 2) Nuts (Nut Butter) (c) Thinkstock Nuts are dense in calories and come in handy as an 'anytime snack'. You can carry them easily with you in a small container and they have a very long shelf life. The best part about nuts is that they provide you all the three macros- Fats, Carbs and protein. Fats in nuts are the essential fats that your body needs to obtain from outside sources. Nut Butter like peanut butter and almond butter are also a good choice to include in your diet but don't overdo them. The only thing to keep in mind is that nut butter should be preferably free from artificial flavours and sugars. 3) Starchy Vegetables and Carbs (c) Thinkstock The quality of starchy vegetables is that they are calorie dense. The primary motive for anyone who is looking to gain weight is to increase the daily calorie intake. For this, you need to include as much calorie dense food as possible. Starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, legumes, oats, corn etc are high in calories. You should include a combination of these items in your everyday meal plan. 4) Cheese (c) Thinkstock Since seventy percent of all the cheese is fat, this makes it a high-calorie food. Another advantage of cheese is that it has good taste and can be added to a variety of dishes. Fat has 9 calories per gram which is more than one gram of carb and one gram of protein taken together. Therefore, including a small amount of cheese in your diet is a smart move if you want to increase your caloric intake. You don't need to spend a fortune to gain weight. Your primary target should be to increase your daily caloric intake and enter a surplus zone. Neither should you have a high protein diet. Concentrate on a moderate protein, moderate fat and high carb diet. Effort should be made to avoid carbs that are artificially flavored and processed.
  14. Four climbers in England had to be rescued from the highest mountain peak in the country after they smoked a little too much of cannabis while celebrating their achievement. The stoned mountaineers were brought down from atop Scafell Pike, in northwest England after a three-hour rescue operation. The Cumbria police, in charge of the local area, dispatched air support and ambulance rescue to the 3,208-foot peak after they received an emergency call in the evening from the incapacitated group. According to the police, the climbers were so high that none of them could even walk properly. The police put up a Facebook post confirming the news, which has since gone viral. “Now having to deploy mountain rescue, air support and ambulance to rescue them,” Cumbria Police said on social media. “Persons rescued after becoming incapable of walking due to cannabis use. MRT volunteers putting themselves at risk to prevent harm,” they added. The climbers are facing severe criticism for their actions as many called for a hefty fine so as to discourage such boorish behaviour in future. “Really? What bloody idiots. They should pay you for rescuing them in these circumstances,” wrote a disgruntled climber on Facebook. Justin Bibby, the North Cumbria Superintendent, was harsh considering how the situation could have easily taken a turn for the worse. © merryjane “Mountain safety is your responsibility, bring the right equipment and food and know how to use it. Our priority is your safety,” Mr Bibby said, according to The Telegraph. “The mountain rescue team had a particularly busy day yesterday dealing with this incident. “Taking alcohol or any other substance that could impair your judgment significantly increases your risk of getting into trouble. It has no place on a mountain.” While the climbers were safely rescued by the volunteers, the only important question that remains unanswered is, what kind of weed were they actually smoking and where not to get it from!
  15. Note: The article doesn't support nor condemn the use of performance enhancing drugs. It's completely a personal choice. The world of fitness is a jungle. A dense, misleading jungle where lies sell and the truth remains underrated. It's a place where natural lifters get lost, more often than not. Building muscle naturally is an excruciatingly slow process and the pain is worsened by the consistent exposure to chemically enhanced lifters. A drugged up average gym-bro is not uncommon nor is a drugged up fitness celebrity who claims to be ‘natty'. What this exposure breeds is a sort of impatience in the mind of a natural lifter. He is always thinking in a spiral. Questions such as- why I am I not getting big, I am not eating right, and maybe I lack training intensity? - will often plague them. I am not going to rant about who is a ‘fake natty' and who isn't. Being a natural lifter, what I'll tell you will change your perception about getting big, naturally. 1) No Matter How Solid Your Training And Nutrition Is, You Will Never Build Muscle As Fast A Lifter On Roids © Thinkstock/Getty Images Drugs are magic pills. If somebody tells you otherwise, they are lying. Drugs can completely change how your body reacts to food and muscle recovery. Right from your metabolism, nutrition partitioning, right to your body's hormonal activities, everything is impacted. While a drugged lifter can build over 10 pounds of muscle in 4-6 weeks, a natural lifter can't. It's just impossible, even if you are on point with you training and diet. Why? I'll explain that in the next point. 2) You Need More Time Resting And Recovering Than Lifting © Musculardevelopment Resting makes your muscles grow. Micro-tears inflicted while training need rest to repair (and get bigger). For natural lifters, recovery is of prime importance. For enhanced lifters, it isn't an issue. The reason why a lot of natural lifters fail to grow is that they spend too much time lifting and don't prioritize rest. Pounding heavy weights without resting adequately will not take you far in the race of building muscle. 3) You Can Never Get Away With Bad Nutrition, While A Drugged Lifter Can © YouTube As I said, one of the biggest advantages of drug use is that your body partitions nutrition way much better. Since protein synthesis is always elevated, drugged lifters can build muscle on even insufficient consumption of protein. Whatever protein they consume is simply targeted by the body to build muscle. They can still build muscle on a poor diet. Being a natural, you have to be on point with your diet, not only for months but for years in a row, with high protein intake being priority. You have very little room for nutritional error. While wrong bulking will get you fat, under eating will get you smaller. 4) You Will Fail For Years Before Learning What Works Best For Your Body © YouTube Putting on muscle naturally requires intelligent work with training and nutrition. And that, my friend, doesn't come in just weeks or months. Trial and error takes time, a lot of time. While a drugged lifter can pop a pill or stick a needle in his butt and get away with bad nutrition and poor training, you will have to learn from your errors. All of this takes time. 5) Your Mental Peace Will Be Ruined If You Keep Comparing Yourself With Fitness Models, Most Of Whom Claim To Be Natural But Aren't © Thinkstock/Getty Images Fitness is subjective and so is building muscle. Fake natty celebrities are not uncommon and are bad examples of natural fitness. They are very influential in the industry and since they will not shut shop, it's you who has to be intelligent and stop comparing yourself to them. On social media, filters do the talking, not lifting. Your favorite IG model will claim to be natural when it's painfully obvious that he isn't. But that's how the world is. Be answerable to yourself and chase a better version of YOU instead of chasing a body that is unachievable without roids.
  16. So you think you're the biggest 'Game Of Thrones' fan alive? Think again because you're yet to meet the folks who weaken the threshold of fandom altogether! Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson are hardcore 'Game of Thrones' devotees and they know enough and more for even Mr. Martin to consult them regarding ‘A Song of Ice and Fire' from time to time. They have a dedicated website for the series called westeros.org which is the largest online database for anything factual related to 'A Song of Ice and Fire'. The couple is a great mix of American and Swede and they met online, on a role-playing game based on Tolkein's Middle Earth. There was no looking back after that. Their love for everything fictional and epic grew from there and soon after discovering Martin's 'Game of Thrones'; they decided to create their own role-playing game out of that. Soon, their knowledge on the literature grew enough and more to create westeros.org, with Martin's permission obviously, and now the website itself has an ardent fan following. After meeting Martin in 2004, they started assisting him in finishing his book and being consultants for the TV show as well. How's that for some on point knowledge on one of the most intelligent shows to have ever hit our screens! © vulture Garcia and Antonsson aren't your regular stereotypical fans, really. You won't find them in costumes or props parading around, showing off their love for the series but they have incorporated the literature into their lives beautifully for the past 15 years. Their love for role-playing and including little things from the book, into their lives is very endearing and evident. Even their boxer puppy plays the role of a direwolf! After the overwhelming response by the public, George thought he could use a few helping hands that could help him maintain the popularity of his work. That's when Garcia and Linda came on board to help him with the writing of ‘The World of Ice and Fire'. © Twitter Westeros is a mind-blowing rendition of George Martins works and it helps every 'Game of Thrones' fan connect with the character fervently. The site includes a detailed analysis of each character and it gives fans a forum to predict and speculate the future of the seven kingdoms. The show creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss actually consulted westeros.org (westeros.org) before casting Jason Mamoa and Charles Dance as Khal Drogo and Tywin Lannister, respectively. We would love to meet this extraordinary fan couple who have dedicated their life to form a tangible thread for all GoT fans out there.
  17. The onus of this week's ‘Game Of Thrones' has suddenly shifted to the white walkers and more importantly, the Night King. © HBO The dead, but no so dead man has an ice dragon, is responsible for the current catharsis in Khaleesi's life and has a plethora of zombies who only serve him. © HBO But what or who is this Night King? Probably one of the most bad ass negative characters in the history of TV, the Night King is being essayed by Slovenian actor, Vladimir Furdik. © Imdb You might recognise him from that time in Bran's vision when he gets a peek into how the Children of the forest changed him into this ice villain. © HBO However, Vladimir is not the first man to play this ice foe. Initially Richard Brake essayed the face of the Night King. If you are all about precision and detailing, their bone structure and face shape is different so that's how GOT geeks pointed it out. © Imdb The finale is almost here and while we cannot wait to see what happens, the Night King certainly stole the thunder from every GOT character after he threw that dagger and caught the dragon. It was spine chilling, literally! Out of multiple theories doing the round about who is he in the series, one major theory revolves around the fact that Bran is the Night King. © HBO It is believed that his time travelling sojourn took him too far and while he wanted to undo some events involving the creation of the Night King, Bran got stuck in the body and became the ice villain himself. Whatever it is, the Night King is the ice man to watch out for.
  18. I'll say this once: I scare easily. Like, Paranormal Activity easily. Like Zee Horror (remember that show?) easily. Just the starting track before each episode began would scare the bejesus out of me; not even joking about this one. But, I'm also one curious bloody cat who just can't sit still without knowing what the hell is about to happen to that dumb blonde chick who went out right into the arms of Freddie Kruger and, well, right into his iron claws… Damnit! I even played Bloody Mary once when I was alone in the house… I mean I know that doesn't count because it's so juvenile the word ‘juvenile' sounds more grown up. And believe it or not; nothing happened. Yet, I shivered and shook for a whole week after. Imagine having to have played any one of the following games, then! I would have died half way through the steps, let alone getting through at all! 1. Elevator To Another Dimension No. Of Players: 1 What You Need: A building with at least 10 floors; an elevator; zero interruption © Pexels You enter the lift and press these buttons in the exact order mentioned—4, 2, 6, 2, 10, 5. Don't get off at any of the floors, though. Now, if you do it right, when you reach the fifth floor, a woman is supposed to enter the lift with you. She will ask you where are you going; to which you have NOT to respond, whatsoever. Stay silent and ignore her. Then, without having pressed any other button, the lift will automatically rise to the 10th floor. This time, you get off. It is said that when you get off, you're in a whole new dimension, automatically. When you're done, and want to return, get back to the lift and press the same buttons in the exact same order. Warning: Do not talk to the woman, no matter what. It is believed that those who did have never returned. 2. Three Kings Ritual No. of Players: 1 What You Need: An exceptionally, large room—a huge basement, maybe—with no natural light whatsoever, one candle, two mirrors, three chairs and an object from your childhood. © Pexels You place all of the above mentioned items in this large room, switch off all the lights and ensure that no natural light comes in from anywhere at all. Then, as you exit the room, leave the door open. Go to your own room and go to sleep. At exactly 3:30 am, wake up and go back into the room where you've left the items. You sit down on one of the chairs with the candle lit in your hand and wait till it's 3:33am. Now, keep your eyes locked on the darkest part of the room, nowhere else. If done right, at exactly 3:33am, you will feel a presence with you in the room. It is said that the presence will talk to you about your past. Some people even reported lucid dreaming. Warning: Do not leave any windows open, or any inlet for natural light. While doing the ritual, do not—during any moment of the game—let the candle go out. Do not look into the mirror you left there, either; no matter what you do. 3. Ouija Board No. of Players: No limit, starting from 1 What You Need: An Ouija board, a planchette and some candles © YouTube You sit down in a dark room with no disturbance and start the ritual. An Ouija board is one of the oldest known mediums to contact the spirit world. The board has the English alphabet, numerics 0 to 9 and the words ‘Yes' and ‘No' etched on to it. With the help of a planchette, you summon a spirit by placing it on the board. Once the spirit has made contact you ask them questions that pertain to single answers, varying from ‘Yes' or ‘No' and with the help of the alphabet and numbers, they can answer questions you may have for them. Warning: Never ask the spirit for any kind of proof of being real. When you do that, it is said that you are indirectly, giving it permission to enter into your world. Do not blow out the candles during the ritual, or leave the board midway. 4. Hitori Kakurenbo No. Of Players: 1 What You Need: A stuffed doll, rice, something that is part of you (like, a fingernail or a strand of hair), some red thread, a tub of water, salt water, some source of fire. © YouTube The game, finds its roots in ancient Japan and is called one-man hide and seek, in English. The game is about playing hide-and-seek with a spirit-possessed doll. You get yourself a stuffed doll and take out the stuffing from inside and fill it with rice, instead. Add a strand of your hair, or your finger nail to the rise and then, with the red thread, sew up the doll and wrap it up entirely in red thread. Give your doll a name and then, place it in the tub filled with water. Now, turn off all the lights in your house and fill your mouth with salt water. Go and look for the doll where you left it last—in the tub of water. Don't freak out if you don't find it in the tub. That's the point of the game, remember? You need to continue looking for the doll, though till you find it. When you do, pour the salt water from your mouth on it and then, burn the doll. Now, you hide and wait. You will soon feel a presence in the house. Warning: During the game, never once empty your mouth of the salt water; don't forget to burn the doll, completely. And don't forget to hide. 5. The Midnight Game No. Of. Players: 1 or more What You Need: A candle, a piece of paper, a writing implement, matches or a lighter, salt, a wooden door, and at least one drop of your own blood. © Pexels You start by writing your full name—first, middle and last—on the piece of paper. Put a drop of your blood on the paper and let it soak it in completely. Turn off the lights, go to the wooden door and place the paper with your name, in front of it. Light your candle and place it on top of the paper. Knock on the door 22 times and then, close it. The Midnight Man has entered your house. Pick up the candle again, and start wandering around your house. All you need to do is keep running from him, right till it's 3:33am. If the candle goes out, the Midnight Man is near you. Relight it within the next ten seconds. If you fail to do so, immediately enclose yourself within a circle of salt and remain inside it till 3:33am. The idea is not to get caught. Warning: During the game, never turn on the lights, do not use a flashlight, or a torch or any other form of light and whatever you do, do not go to sleep. If you do get caught, it is said that you hallucinate your greatest fears and your organs are ripped out one at a time. 6. Bath Game No. Of Player: 1 What You Need: Bathtub and shampoo © Pexels Another Japanese origin game, called Daruma-San. You turn off all the lights in your house and go to your bathtub, fill it with water and get in, completely naked. Your head should be on the side that is facing the tap. Now, start washing your hair. And as you start washing your hair, you have to keep repeating these exact words: “Daruma-san fell down.” You have to keep repeating these words throughout the hair wash. You'll start to notice a silhouette of a woman take shape in front of the bathtub. She falls on the tap and injures her eye. You don't stop washing your hair, or repeating the words. When you're done washing your hair, just say this, “Why did you fall in the bathtub?” once. Then, you leave and go to sleep and wait for the next morning. You will start to feel a constant presence around you. Remember to stay away from the presence and maintain a distance. It's about being on the run without letting the presence know that you are. When you feel it getting too close to you, turn around suddenly, pretend to slap with your hand say ‘Kitta'! Warning: Do not stop midway, while washing your hair and never stop repeating the words till you're absolutely done washing your hair. Don not leave the bathtub halfway through and don't forget to implement the actions to keep away from the spirit. 7. The Hooded Man No. Of Players: 1 What You Need: Some sage, salt, a source of fire, a cleansing ritual and a phone line for later. © Pexels Before you start playing the game, you cleanse yourself entirely. Then, burn the sage and spread some salt on your front door. When it's night time, you go and call yourself a cab. Once you're in the cab, shut the door and go to sleep. It is said that you will wake up at exactly 3:30am; you look at the time and then, you g back to sleep. When you wake up again, you will see a hooded man at the steering wheel. The road you're on will seem unfamiliar to you, because you're in another dimension. Other passengers may enter the cab and you ignore them. You keep driving around in the unknown world. And when you want to go back, you simply lean over and whisper to the Hooded Man that you have reached your destination. Then, you fall asleep again. When you wake up, you will find yourself in your house. Warning: Do not talk to the passengers who board the cab in the new world. Do not ask where you are, or where you are going. Once you begin the ritual, you have to follow through. Whatever you do, do not panic, or call anyone while you're on your way. 8. Closet Game No. Of Players: 1 What You Need: A closet, A matchbox, one unlit match and a lighter for later. © YouTube Turn off the lights in your house and enter your closet; make sure it's dark. Once you're standing inside the closet, hold up the unlit match and say the following words out loud: “Show me the light or leave in darkness.” The moment you hear someone whispering near you, light the match. Once you light the match, step out of your closet while making sure that the match doesn't go out. Warning: Do not fail to light the match, do not look around for the voices and whisperings. Just light the match at that very instant and step out of the closet. And afterwards, be careful about opening and taking things out of your closet as it is said that the demon you summon haunts the closet, ever since. While these are games, we do not personally know how many of these consequences are actually true. However, you would do well to just pay heed because prevention is always better than cure. Also, if you have a feeling you cannot follow through, never begin these games. At the end, these games are not for the weakhearted and you should try at your own risk. If any of you have ever played any of these, or other such games, we would love to hear from you. Be careful and stay safe.
  19. As the bulking season comes to an end, it's time to stop eating like a polar bear, shed some weight and reveal what's under all that lard. For many, shredding/cutting is all about avoiding carbs, doing high reps and a ton of cardio. This might (please note ‘might') help you get abs and a physique like Justin Beiber. We are pretty sure you don't want that. Let me make it clear- this isn't the best way to cut weight. In fact, it's actually dumb. Unfortunately, the internet is full of bullshit quick-shredding plans that get you nowhere. Get one thing straight- shredding is not all about losing fat. It's also very much about preserving muscle. If you are trying to cut, make sure you are not make these 4 major mistakes. 1) Drastically Dropping Calories © Thinkstock/Getty Images Plenty of research has shown that there is no significant advantage of a Keto diet or other fad diets. But one major disadvantage of keto or other such diets is that they create a huge caloric deficit. If you've been bulking on 2800-3000 calories/day, there is no way you can consume even 2400 calories on a keto diet (fats are heavily satiating). Thus, you will have to consume fewer calories than your body is used to (2000) and this leads to catastrophic results. The body senses ‘restricted caloric environment' as a threat situation and starts to hold fat instead of mobilizing it. Add excessive exercise to this and you will lose your gains. 2) Too Much Cardio © Thinkstock/Getty Images If you aim to come out as a shredded beast, not an anemic boy by the end of your cut, stop doing tons of cardio. Too much cardio creates endurance adaptations in the body which will hamper your muscle mass and strength gains. Nonetheless, too much cardio is catabolic as well. Cardio needs to be used in the later stages of your cut. Initially, you can lose a substantial amount of fat with a slight caloric deficit 200-400/day and no cardio. And if you're going to employ cardio, ensure it is low intensity walking or short HIIT sessions, ditch the moderate intensity jogging or at least minimize it. 3) Doing High Reps With Light Weights © Thinkstock/Getty Images This is perhaps the dumbest of all mistakes you can make. I guess people simply copied the training programs of the Golden Era Bodybuilders without understanding the reasons behind them. I'm sure you've seen Arnold and Franco doing high rep training, but what you don't realize is that they were experienced lifters with years spent under the bar. They had reached the pinnacle of their genetic ability and to train with the same intensity on a caloric deficit it was necessary to drop the weight and increase reps. And please their light load was also heavier than your heaviest load! For a natural lifter, lifting heavy during a cut is the only anabolic tool to preserve the muscle you've gained. It's going to signal your body that the muscle mass is important, hence maintain it. Forget lifting light you can increase your strength throughout your cut. All my clients are surprised at first when they are hitting PRs (personal records) while dropping weight. 4) Eating Too Many Meals Or Snacking Too Much © Thinkstock/Getty Images The clichéd advice for cutting coming out of any fitness model's mouth is ‘eat many meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism fired up'. Plenty of well-documented research has shown there is no effect of meal timing or meals frequency on body composition. However, one downside of consuming 6-8 small meals on a cut is that the portion of each meal will not be satiating and you will snack extra to curb your hunger. This will lead to overshooting your caloric intake and deviating from the goal. I'd advise you begin your cut with a moderate caloric deficit, keeping the number of meals according to your life schedule, ensuring each meal satisfies you well. Lift heavy, sleep well and you will bring out the best in you. 20. Ever wondered what Richa Chadha thinks of guys on a date?
  21. Just a handful of people have the balls to sing. Or if I may, the skills/voice. You're either born with it or work towards it. There's no other way around it. Himesh Reshammiya on the other hand, is a far cry from this discussion. He has a nasal voice, which we absolutely love and that's literally all he's famous for. He's a singer, all without being one. But he's entertaining as hell and that's all that matters. But all this while, we've missed one thing about him—he also happens to be an A-list sartorial maven. He's well-read in style and it absolutely shows. 'Cause no way someone else would wear the Indian ocean on top and pair it with a noble piece of nonsense at the bottom. You need skills to pair things...this bad. ©Viral Bhayani Let's begin with wasting our precious minutes. To be honest, there's nothing wrong in a pop colour on top and metallic silver shoes at the bottom. All you need is knee-ripped jeans and two-buttons-open shirt to complete (or rummage) the look. Just that little effort and be assured, you'd cross boundaries of sartorial sanity. But here's my favourite part of the outfit—the belt. After years of style experts suggesting against blaring logo buckles, Mr Reshammiya has stuck to his gut. Now that's a sweet stroke. ©Viral Bhayani And lastly, the black ear studs. His staples! Kudos to the man for great consistency through the years. And to never, ever doing what's normal. Example: the nasal voice.
  22. There are mashups and then there are mashups. Satvik B is a musician from Singapore whose latest cover of 3 songs – SoMo's 'Ride', 'Raabta', and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's beautiful classic 'Sannu Ek Pal' -- is sheer magic. Satvik transitions effortlessly between these three of our favourite songs and by the end of the video, you have teleported back to the teenage years of first love. While Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's original 'Sannu Ek Pal' still remains the best version of the song that can be, we like this version for its refreshing new voice. Also, while you're at it, here's a Bollywood medley by the singer that's worth listening to:
  23. Up until now in the Indian music industry, if there's one person who can mimic any and every singer out there, it's Sonu Nigam. The singer can even sing in a woman's voice so brilliantly that you won't be able to tell the difference. Every singer has his/her own style that sets them apart, but there are a few gifted singers who have all the versatility in the world. And singers have never shied away from trying to stretch their limits. A case in point is Aksh Baghla, who attempted to mimic the voice and singing style of 9 different singers. His impression of Mika, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Sanam Puri, and even Honey Singh is right on point and it's a no brainer that the guy is exceptionally talented. But even he can't replicate the magic of the legend that was Jagjit Singh. The ghazal maestro, with his soothing deep voice, really is irreplaceable. Nevertheless, Aksh’s impression of the singers is pretty impressive and we found ourselves checking out other videos by him. Watch this one that’s a longer version of his impression of other singers, 30 to be precise.
  24. Books have a beautiful way of teaching us about feelings, ideas and connections we could never have thought were possible. And with every book you read, you are at risk of evolving, as a person with a soul that has seen and known things in ways that the world never will. In his widely acclaimed novel, ‘Norwegian Wood’, author Haruki Murakami said, “If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.” So, this Pride month, I’ve come up with a list of 20 books written on and about LGBTQ—the community, the feelings, the hardships and the humanity. Each of these 20 works, by various different ingenious authors tell stories of thoughts, struggles, feelings and hurt that can only affect someone who does not conform to societal normalcy. And these 20 works will definitely influence—if not change—the way you see and think about members of the LGBTQ community. 1. Two Boys Kissing Author: David Levithan © Knopf Books A story based on true events, the book is about two seventeen year olds, Harry and Craig who are preparing to take part in a 32-hour kissing marathon, to set a new Guinness World Record. The plot follows the entire event of the two boys engaged in a kissing marathon while the episode is being narrated by a Greek Chorus. But, that’s not where it stops. In fact, the story has only just started; what with both boys trying to understand and come to terms with their feelings for each other, especially since they are a former couple. Through the narrative, the boys become an example for the case of other young boys struggling with relationships, a sense of identity, gender blurs and coming out. Out of it all, you just can’t wait for the ending; to know exactly what happens and what the fate of the two boys is… 2. Boy Erased: A Memoir Author: Garrard Conley © Penguin Random House This is one of the most beautiful narratives you’ll ever come across on a subject that approaches homosexuality. The story is that of the author who recounts a life filled with duality—that of gender, religion and family. When Garrard is forced to come out to his family, he is given a choice—either he attend a 12-step church-supported program that promises to turn him back to “normal” and “cure” his homosexuality, or risk losing his family, friends and God for good. Having made the compromise, Conley emerges from the program, rid of his “illness” and cleansed of his impure urges. However, with a faith that is stronger than ever before, Conley chooses to break out, in search of his true self and to learn the art of forgiveness. 3. The Gods Of Tango Author: Carolina De Robertis © Knopf Books In February 1913, Leda, then seventeen-years-old, leaves her Italian village home in search of a greater purpose and sense of identity, along with a new husband, in Argentina, who is killed before she arrives at Buenos Aires. But, that doesn’t stop Leda from surviving and being able to find her passion in Tango, a form of music that is the city’s energy. And through her willful desire to learn the form of music, Leda is brought face-to-face with a hidden, untapped desire; one that she never knew she had. And as she cuts off her hair and binds her breasts, the readers are introduced to a man named, Dante. The book follows Leda’s transformation—from a woman to a man—and the results of human desires that stem from such a transformation. 4. Beautiful Music For Ugly Children Author: Kirstin Cronn-Mills © Flux Elizabeth may be a girl; but, she really is a guy. A guy, named Gabe. And ‘Beautiful Music For Ugly Children’ is a first-person narrative told by Elizabeth, also known as Gabe, a youngster who runs a show on community radio channel, 90.3. The show, KZUK Gabe’s own journal where she, I mean, he, catalogs his story, just like a record. Side A is Elizabeth and Side B is Gabe. And on air, you always get to hear Gabe’s side. One of the most intriguing books you will read, irrelevant of whether or not you’re young, old, gay or straight. 5. How To Repair A Mechanical Heart Author: J.C. Lillis © Barnes & Nobles You don’t have to be of any particular gender-orientation to love this book that revolves around Brandon and Abel, two Castaway Planet fans who have a crush on Cadmus, the dashing space captain, one of the key characters of their favourite TV show. The plot follows the journey of Brandon and Abel as they set out on a journey through the Castaway Planet conventions to find out whether or not a Cadmus and Sim—the other lead character—romance is happening; all the while, hiding their own true feelings about themselves. As the story progresses and the boys get closer to the last convention, they are faced with emerging truths about each other which forces them to confront their own feelings about one another. It’s told in an innocent, yet, thought-provoking story that relates to every reader on their own hidden and often, untapped feelings. 6. And The Band Played On: Politics, People, And The AIDS Epidemic Author: Randy Shilts © St Martin's Press Rock Hudson’s death in 1985 brought the world, especially America to face the reality that the AIDS epidemic had become in the 20th century. The author outlines in fine detail the outbreak, the question that every American was thinking—how did the disease become an epidemic and how was it spreading. In addressing all these, and more, questions, the author sheds light on the reasons for the epidemic which included the federal government’s budget for warfare, the health authorities prioritizing their political allegiances over healthcare facilities and the realization that there existed a gay community whose healthcare needed to be just as prioritized as politics. 7. Outtakes Of A Walking Mistake Author: Anthony Paull © Feelmagik Productions This could very well be made into a modern-day high school drama and it would probably slay it. 25. The moment you feel that you have seen everything and now your faith in ‘the Internet being a crazy place’ is dwindling, Twitter enters the scene like a boss to prove that there’s much more to it than what has already met our eyes. It won’t be wrong to say that only Twitter has the power to savagely turn any prince into a pauper and vice versa. Even the guy sitting right next to you can become an internet sensation within a blink of an eye. This time around it is a certain Morgan Evick who has been hogging the limelight and our data pack for something that wasn’t exactly his personal achievement. Slidin' (literally) in the DM's like..... pic.twitter.com/1XGXS1PZ1C — Morgan Evick (@MorganEvick) June 4, 2017 The first one or two seconds will make anyone think that it’s one of those regular videos where people are having a great time sitting by the pool and riding a water slide. But, the moment this guy comes in the frame, things take a viral turn and we are sure that you too can’t stay calm after watching this video. Call it an impressive trick or something beyond our imagination, but he has left everyone stunned with his water slide stunt; and now the Internet is busy deciphering what exactly is going on. Either he's Black Jesus or Black David Hasselhoff.... pic.twitter.com/KxV0FOYqh3 — SneakyFootballer82 (@jvtfootball82) June 6, 2017 Watch this about 40 times now and still don't know how tf he did this but he's the 🐐 for it — Kelby Sigman (@Ziggy_56_) June 5, 2017 The video is from a resort in Jamaica, which some are saying is the Beaches Resort in Ochos Rios. This guy has to be one of the coolest teens to ever walk on this earth. He not only skimmed across the water smoothly but also, without any f**ks to give, he effortlessly walked out of the pool. This was totally insane and extremely hard for one’s eyes to believe. While, some called his ‘Black Jesus’, others compared him to David Hasselhoff and Dash from ‘The Incredibles’. pic.twitter.com/7T1MJlcdap — Cash GotJuice🎒 (@J_cash_123) June 5, 2017 pic.twitter.com/7T1MJlcdap — Cash GotJuice🎒 (@J_cash_123) June 5, 2017 pic.twitter.com/3hZ6TshmvI — thi(c)² (@BaddieLambily) June 5, 2017 After Evick’s video went viral, he said that he needed to find the guy and tell him how the world is going crazy over his water slide stunt.
