  1. Iran's President Hassan Rouhani delivers remarks at a news conference during the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, U.S. September 20, 2017. Photo: Reuters LONDON: Protests that shook Iran were not just aimed at the economy, President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday, remarks suggesting the real targets were powerful conservatives opposed to his plans to expand individual freedoms at home and promote detente abroad. The pragmatic cleric, who defeated anti-Western hardliners to win re-election last year, also called for the lifting of curbs on social media used by anti-government protesters in the most sustained challenge to hardline authorities since 2009. ?It would be a misrepresentation (of events) and also an insult to Iranian people to say they only had economic demands,? Rouhani was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency. ?People had economic, political and social demands.? Iran?s influential Revolutionary Guards said on Sunday the security forces had put an end to a week of unrest fomented by what it called foreign enemies. The protests, which began over economic hardships suffered by the young and working class, spread to more than 80 cities and towns and has resulted in 22 deaths and more than 1,000 arrests, according to Iranian officials. Hamid Shahriari, the deputy head of the Judiciary said that all ringleaders of the protests had been identified and arrested, and they would be firmly punished and might face capital punishment. An Iranian lawmaker confirmed on Monday the death of one detainee in prison. ?This 22 year old young man was arrested by the police. I was informed that he has committed suicide in jail,? Tayebeh Siavashi was quoted as saying by ILNA news agency. Many of the protesters questioned Iran?s foreign policy in the Middle East, where it has intervened in Syria and Iraq in a battle for influence with rival Saudi Arabia. Iranians can criticise 'everyone' The country?s financial support for Palestinians and the Lebanese Shia group Hezbollah also angered Iranians, who want their government to focus on domestic economic problems instead. Rouhani won re-election last year by promising more jobs for Iran?s youth through more foreign investment, as well as more social justice, individual freedom and political tolerance ? aims questioned by his main challenger in the contest. Echoing some of his campaign rhetoric, Rouhani said on Monday people should be allowed to criticise all Iranian officials, with no exception. Demonstrators initially vented their anger over high prices and alleged corruption, but the protests took on a rare political dimension, with a growing number of people calling on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to step down. The Supreme Leader is commander-in-chief of the armed forces and appoints the heads of the judiciary. Key ministers are selected with his agreement and he has the ultimate say on Iran?s foreign policy. By comparison, the president has little power. ?No one is innocent and people are allowed to criticise everyone,? said Rouhani. Rouhani also dismissed calls from hardline clerics who had asked the government to permanently block access social media and messaging apps. As protests have ebbed, the government has lifted restrictions it imposed on Instagram, one of the social media tools used to mobilise protesters. But access to a more widely used messaging app, Telegram, was still blocked. The government has said the restrictions would be temporary. ?People?s access to social media should not permanently be restricted. We cannot be indifferent to people?s life and business,? Rouhani said. State television showed live pictures of more pro-government rallies in several cities, including Sanandaj in western Iran, as marchers carried posters of Ayatollah Khamenei and chanted slogans in his support. Iranian Vice-President Masoumeh Ebtekar tweeted on Monday that Rouhani has insisted that all detained students should be released. Mohammad Bathaei, the education minister said on Monday there were many school children among the detainees and he was asking for their release before exam season. Amnesty International said last week that more than 1,000 Iranians had been arrested and detained in jails ?notorious for torture and other ill-treatment over the past seven days?, with many being denied access to families and lawyers.
  2. Ivanka Trump's 'swag se swagat' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in the news all over the place. 3. The trailer of Imtiaz Ali's ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal' is out and we guarantee you that it won't leave you disappointed. After giving us a sneak peak with five mini trailers and four songs that are already on our playlist, the trailer was released just a few minutes ago. The three minute clip displays some spectacular chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. And when they are together, it goes without saying that they will entertain you to the core. Shah Rukh Khan plays a Punjabi ‘munda', Harry, who is a tour guide, while Anushka plays Sejal, who is one of the tourists he meets. The mini trailer left everyone impressed as Imtiaz brought an unseen version of both these amazing actors onscreen. The quirky equation of both the actors has left us truly entertained and we totally feel like taking a European vacation and find a guide who is as phenomenal as Harry. But that's really unrealistic, isn't it? © Red Chillies The clip is super-cool, making you laugh and smile with small moments. We can't wait to see Harry's ‘cheap and ganda' character and Anushka's Gujju avatar. And of course, 'beech beech mein' we want to hit the dance floor and groove our bodies too. Plus, these two are our favourites, man! Check out the trailer yourself and get ready for this incredible love story.
  4. What could go wrong with a song when you have best things that Bollywood can offer? Irshad Kamil's lyrics and Pritam's striking music is enough to make you lost in the music beat. But, things just get a lot better as soon as Arijit Singh's melodious voice weaves its magic. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal's' latest song ‘Safar' is every bit refreshing and soothing that we won't be surprised if you end up listening to it on loop. The team has unveiled the film's latest song where we can see Shah Rukh Khan, playing a lyricist, director and composer and is all set to pen down a song. The lyrics are so relatable that you can't help but hum the tune of the song. Kamil's lyrics talk about the life of a person and his equation with travelling (safar). The lyrics brilliantly shine a much needed light on loneliness. It wouldn't be wrong to say that after a very long time, we have got a song that strikes all the right chords. © Red Chillies Entertainment In the video, Shah Rukh Khan who essays the role of Harinder Singh Nehra aka Harry is seen lip-syncing to Arijit's voice and Imtiaz Ali recording his actions. This video isn't just about a song; it's about the joy that you experience in life. Unlike the previous song ‘Beech Beech Mein', ‘Safar' is very comforting and evocative. Once again Arijit and Pritam prove that when they come together, you are undoubtedly going to fall in love with their work. © Red Chillies Entertainment Well, there is a high chance that this song might make want you to want to pack your bag and hit the road. The film also stars Anushka Sharma who will be seen as Sejal and is set to hit the theatres on 4th August.
  5. Imtiaz Ali continues teasing us with mini trailers every week for the upcoming movie ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal'. The new mini trailer is like another piece in the block of puzzle for the viewers to decode the storyline. The search for the ring continues in this one as well. © YouTube Honestly, we are now awaiting a full fledged trailer that gives a peek into the excellence of Imtiaz's direction and the versatility of Anushka and SRK as actors. The last 4 trailers also looked kinda fun but couldn't freeze the excitement for the fans. The only reason we are holding on is because we have full faith in this powerful trio. The movie is already under the radar for having a similar title to a famous Hollywood movie and is also facing the unwanted wrath of Pahlaj Nihalani over the usage of the word ‘intercourse' . The movie is scheduled to release on August 4th.
  6. The new trailer of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal' is out and it is filled with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma's nok-jhok. This 36-second video is all about Anushka's cuteness and you can't help but smile looking at the duo on-screen. “Mera naam hai Sejal! Sejal ka matlab pata hai?” In the entire trailer, Sejal is trying to explain the meaning of her name time and again to Harry using hand gestures. © Red Chillies Entertainment Harry imitates her at times but is disinterested in making small talk. He stops her by saying, “Matlab bilkul zaruri nahi hain. Sachi. Main Sejal se chala lunga," The clip also shows us the two trying to find something, linking it to the previous clip; we suspect they are looking for Sejal's ring. © Red Chillies Entertainment Every mini trailer released till now has left us in splits and it's obvious that the fourth one had to be good too. Anushka is utterly endearing to watch. But somewhere this latest mini trailer she does not seem as engaging as the previous ones. Since the start the filmmakers have introduced us to these two characters by giving us a sneak peek into their lives. We were introduced to the cheap Harry who addresses his character as ‘kharaab', while Sejal is innocent, smart and charming. © Red Chillies Entertainment This is the third time SRK and Anushka have been paired together after ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. It feels refreshing to watch them on-screen again and it goes without saying that their chemistry is spot on. Their previous movies have done wonders at the box office, giving high hopes to the makers of this film as well. It's no doubt many are looking forward to watching this film. Get ready to watch their cute banter on August 4th.
  7. The censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani is famous for coming up with bizarre problems when it comes to clearing a film. Nihalani who himself has made some good numbers of raunchy films recently objected to the usage of word ‘intercourse' in the mini trailers of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal'. In the Trailer Sejal (Anushka) clearly tells Harry (SRK) that he is absolved of all legal charges in the case of sexual intercourse between them. And the CBFC being its extreme sanskari self is bound to have a problem with this word. As per Nihalani's standards, man you can do it but dare not say it! Importantly, he is ready to clear it if he gets 1 lakh people voting in favour of the usage of the word. But conditions apply: Millennials can't really vote. The minimum age to vote is 36-year-old and you should be married, as the boss man won't settle for votes from unmarried people. FYI: Mr. Nihalani we are the land of Kamasutra, how about just broadening your horizons a little bit...just a bit? With this controversy going around finally, Shah Rukh Khan finally shared his views. During a media interaction he gave an epic reply being his witty self and said, “I think I am below 18, so I cannot vote.” He also added that the film has nothing derogatory in it and will be a fun to watch. © Facebook "On a serious note, neither I nor anyone in the film - Imtiaz, Irshad sahab, Pritam or anyone would use any disrespectful word, that hurts a family or anyone's sentiment. We are yet to send the film to the censors and they should watch the whole film to decide," King Khan said. “The film has still not gone to the censors. Maybe out of context things they didn't like. But when they see the whole film, they will understand the context and hopefully everything will be okay,” added SRK and said if still, censor has issues they are open to changing it. Other than this, SRK and Anushka are also working together for Aanand L Rai's film. Well, it's no doubt that this Jodi does wonders on box office and we can't wait to watch them again. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal' is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 4.
  8. © Red Chillies Entertainment Oh God! KRK is starting one of his rants again, this time targeting Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, which has been creating a huge buzz over social media as SRK and Anushka took over Instagram and Twitter to promote their trailers. KRK, the self proclaimed critic went on Twitter to rant against SRK, and released a video on Youtube revealing the plot of the movie that he claims to have gotten from a staff member at Red Chillies Entertainment. Here is the video in question He goes on to say in the video, “The plot of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is the same as ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and the only twist is the ring. If I (KRK) have seen you (Shah Rukh) in the same role 25 years ago, why would I (KRK) see you again repeating the same act.” That’s not just it! KRK calls Shah Rukh Khan a 52-year-old ‘budha’ on Twitter who wants to play the roles of a 25-year-old boy and goes on about insulting him and the movie. SRK has to accept his age instead of Running away from the reality. He was king of romance but now he is king of Buddha stars so accept it. — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) June 19, 2017 I think SRK is scared of Budhapa at the age of 52Yrs also, so he wants to play role of 25 Yrs boy. But M sure it's not going to work. #JHMS — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) June 19, 2017 If Varun, Ranbir, Ranveer talk about first *** n all then fine. But I can't understand how can SRK do such a role at the age of 52Yrs #JHMS — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) June 19, 2017 He further states that the movie is definitely going to flop since families cannot go with their children to watch a movie that has obscene sexual dialogues. Aftr listning dirty dialogus of #JabHarryMetSejal I can say with guarantee dat familis can't go 2watch it means flop https://t.co/gtEdlRiREH — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) June 19, 2017 What’s funniest is - after he was done age-shaming SRK, KRK goes on to call him a big brother. What the…? I object. @iamsrk is like a big brother so I can never use such words 4him. I was talking about his film character. https://t.co/RnOynvZ9LX — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) June 10, 2017 Well, it sure does look like KRK has stretched out his long-ass 15 minutes of fame, huh?
  9. After the two trailers created a huge buzz, the makers have released the third mini trailer for ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. This one finally gives us an idea about why Imtiaz wanted to name the movie ‘The Ring’. © YouTube This trailer has SRK blabbering in Punjabi, and to be honest, he is funny AF. © YouTube Anushka aka Sejal is in search for some ring and Harry is a part of the process. We are still waiting for more clues to form a concrete context of what the storyline is all about. Imtiaz never disappoints and therefore, we have a lot of hope from the final trailer of the movie.
  10. Unlike the last mini trailer, Anushka is shown as a strong and confident girl, which she is, off-screen. She plays a Gujarati lawyer who knows how to keep trouble at bay. She issues an indemnity bond of “no ***” to King Khan who plays Harry in the romantic comedy. The mini trailer gives mixed signals. There is a hint of intimacy but hilarity ensues when Sejal hands over the “no ***” indemnity to Harry. The confusion here makes all the fans extremely curious. © Red Chillies Entertainment But the mystery remains, will the Gujju LLB, Sejal, fall in love with Harry to break the legal bond? © YouTube Imtiaz Ali’s film brings the hit couple together for the third time after ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is now one of the most awaited movies of the year and we absolutely cannot wait to see them light the screen on fire with their chemistry. © YouTube
  11. The ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is back and we have too many hopes from Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. The mini trailer of the film is out and it has Shah Rukh playing a ‘cheap’ guy with a lose character, in his own words. SRK seems to be his usual witty brutally honest self that we so love. Anushka plays the role of a Gujarati girl Sejal Parikh while SRK is Harinder Singh Nehra, a tourist guide, known as Harry, of course. (C) Red Chillies Entertainment This Harry is nothing like the coy simple-minded Surinder Sahni madly in love with his young wife Tani from ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. Probably Raj, the character he dons to impress his wife is more like Harry, but Raj is still a simple small-town boy as compared to the self-acclaimed rake Harry. With SRK and Anushka playing the lead pair and Imtiaz Ali’s direction, we have no doubt this one’s going to be worth our money. The movie releases on August 4 and we’re glad there’s something to look forward to at the end of this seething summer.
  12. From Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt to Ranbir Kapoor, everyone gave suggestions for Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film. Several reports stated that apparently the film was supposed to be titled The Ring and later the makers sealed the name Rehnumn. However, no one was happy with the titles. Finally, the makers chose Ranbir Kapoor’s suggested name and he just couldn’t contain his happiness when the title ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ made it to the posters. © Twitter When the name was officially announced, Ranbir said in an event that he was the one who suggested this title. “I suggested the title ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ to Shah Rukh Sir and Imtiaz Ali. But the sad part is that I had no idea about the reward, so Shah Rukh Sir, I am coming to Mannat (SRK’s residence), keep the Rs 5000 ready in cash!” he said. “To be honest I was shooting at Mehboob Studio, where Shah Rukh Sir, Imtiaz Ali and Anushka were also shooting. We all were sitting in a van together and discussing various options for the title of the film, and I suggested this title Jab Harry Met Sejal, everybody laughed at me for the ‘bakwas’ title I had suggested. Today they have used my title, and I am very happy that I could be a small part of this film. It is by far the most exciting actor-director duo, Shah Rukh Sir and Imtiaz Ali is my favourite duo as a fan and as an audience. Pritam is in this film, Anushka is in this film, and I am happy even I am a part of this film,” RK added. " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"> SRK had before already playfully tweeted: © Twitter However, now finally King Khan has finally settled his debt with Ranbir Kapoor. ‘Hisaab barabar’, as he called it and paid him Rs 5000 ‘in cash’ as RK demanded.SRK took to Twitter and shared a photo handing cash to Ranbir. He tweeted “Jagga Jasoos we are quits now!!! Hisaab barabar (It’s even now). Give @karanjohar his share for the ‘Jab’ part in JHMS please.” Jagga Jasoos we r quits now!!! Hisaab barabar. Give @karanjohar his share for the ‘Jab’ part in JHMS please. pic.twitter.com/gPtrUdwedD — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) June 17, 2017 Well, the fact that Karan Johar has his part in the share too comes as a complete surprise. Karan being his true self, jumped into the conversation and humoursly replied “Yes am waiting !! Ranbir owes me 1,250 rupees!” Yes am waiting !! Ranbir owes me 1,250 rupees! https://t.co/3GgwVWBWHC — Karan Johar (@karanjohar) June 17, 2017 We got to agree that this banter between the three was indeed cool. The film is set to release on August 4 and we look forward to watching it.
  13. King Khan's upcoming romantic film directed by Imtiaz Ali is one of the most awaited films of the year. The film was untitled for a long time. Various speculations regarding the name were being made and finally, the title is ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. Yeah, it does remind everyone of ‘When Harry Met Sally’. The posters of the film look vibrant and pleasing. Many are waiting to watch Anushka and SRK weave their magic on-screen once again. What you seek... @iamsrk @RedChilliesEnt pic.twitter.com/I48uQ102Su — Anushka Sharma (@AnushkaSharma) June 8, 2017 What you seek... @iamsrk @RedChilliesEnt pic.twitter.com/I48uQ102Su — Anushka Sharma (@AnushkaSharma) June 8, 2017 However, the title of this film has not gone down well with many fans. As soon as the name was announced, people started trolling it. Some even said that it was the ‘worst title of ever’. Many are unhappy and the Internet soon started flooding with various memes and jokes on it. However one girl named Sejal Badala had a very different complaint with SRK and tweeted out: @iamsrk thanks for turning me into a meme. — Sejal Badala (@badala_sejal) June 10, 2017 Well, the Badshah of Bollywood was not at all surprised and replied back to Sejal that left everyone in splits. I am so sorry Sejal Badala. Hope u like my next film title better..it’s called “Badala oops Badle ki Aag” https://t.co/7cX23EaSH8 — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) June 10, 2017 The conversation didn’t stop here. She tweeted back to him saying: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS CAN BE A BETTER ONE? pic.twitter.com/DmqFfKzVdb — Sejal Badala (@badala_sejal) June 10, 2017 Soon stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat also joined in. He's not going to reply Again seju — Tanmay Bhat (@thetanmay) June 10, 2017 Well, Sejal cannot do anything about the title but this lovely banter with SRK is sure to go down her memories. He is the king of Bollywood, and wit.
  14. The poster of director Imitiaz Ali?s upcoming movie, Jab Harry Met Sejal, was released recently and it seems all too familiar. The movie, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, has been named after the Meg Ryan and Billy Crytal classic movie, When Harry met Sally. But the twist to the name, immediately reminds us of director?s hit movie, Jab We Met. The movie actors' shared the poster on their social media account. While Anushka wrote "what you seek...." And Shah Rukh replying "..is seeking you". However, the poster is also reminiscent of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer Tamasha, which failed to make it mark at the box office. The romantic drama, which has been predominantly shot in Prague, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Budapest, marks the third time that the two actors have been paired after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The movie is expected to be released on August 8 to avert box office clash with Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
  15. After it was reported that the next SRK-Anushka starrer by Imtiaz is titled ‘The Ring’, fans were excited to watch the magical pair on screen. © Twitter However, the final title has been revealed and it’s going to be called ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. The first poster is now officially out , and is already trending on Twitter. What you seek.. @iamsrk @redchilliesent A post shared by AnushkaSharma1588 (@anushkasharma) on Jun 8, 2017 at 11:47am PDT ‪...is seeking you! @anushkasharma @redchilliesent A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on Jun 8, 2017 at 12:17pm PDT I know your first thought after seeing this. Is it similar to ‘When Harry Met Sally?’ or ‘Jab We Met’, I don’t know. The titles are similar but we do trust Imtiaz to weave something awesome. Everything that i am trying to say in this movie is "what you seek is seeking you" : Imtiaz Ali #JabHarryMetSejal pic.twitter.com/klMVME6Tw4 — Shah Rukh Khan (@DynamicSRK) June 8, 2017 The movie is scheduled to release in August and post these two posters, we are officially counting the days now!
  16. geo_embedgallery Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a clear jab at US President Donald Trump's move to quit a major climate change pact, said on Monday the world needed "the courage to confront hard truths" on global warming. Trudeau's remarks were the first he has made in public since Trump announced on Thursday that the United States would withdraw from the Paris accord. Trudeau issued a statement at the time saying he was deeply disappointed. "The future is still bright for those who have the courage to confront hard truths, and the confidence to stay the course," he said in public remarks after briefly paddling along the Niagara River to mark World Environment Day. After the event, he tweeted "Canada is all in. This morning, we paddled to celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay and our commitment to protect the planet for future generations." "Canada will not back down from its commitment to fight climate change - and we are not alone. Around the world, nearly every country is on our side. ... Inaction is not an option," he added. "We can't walk away from the reality of climate change." News of the planned US withdrawal ramped up tension ahead of talks on renegotiating the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Canada is already at odds with Washington over dairy subsidies, as well as exports of lumber and airliners.

  19. MALAGA, SPAIN: A life-size model of the corpse of Pablo Picasso lies on a plinth in his home city of Malaga, eyes closed, hands folded. The artist who transformed his subjects into Cubist abstractions is immortalised in an eerily realistic sculpture dressed in his trademark blue and white striped jersey and black rope-soled shoes. The work, made of silicon, resin, and fibreglass, with human hair and real clothes, was created by Spanish artist Eugenio Merino – best known for his hyper-realistic models of dictators, including Spain's Francisco Franco. Picasso lies in a small room in the city's branch of the Alliance Francaise cultural institute, the end point of a tour following the landmarks of his life. On the surface, it looks like another scheme to draw in tourists. But, say the organisers, the tour and sculpture are actually a critique of the way the city has used Picasso for commercial ends. "The project is meant to criticise mass tourism and the culture industry of the city as a brand, in which tourism goes against the needs of the residents and where reality is replaced by settings created for the visitors," said Los Interventores, a group of artists who commissioned the exhibit. Their Picasso tour passes by the church where he was baptised, his school and the bull-ring, before ending abruptly with his body, laid out near a marble gravestone that reads in gold lettering: 'Here lies our good friend Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)'.
  20. Superhits may come and go, superstars may come and go but there would always be those few filmmakers who shall always be remembered just for their sheer passion for storytelling. Imtiaz Ali, being the favourite. His films are beyond box office numbers, stars and ratings. They may be imperfect and flawed but they have what most films today don’t – soul. He may not be the one breaking records but he surely does touch hearts with his cinema. And here he is, reminiscing those days when he thought of making a film about a boy who wants to end his life and a girl who lives every day like it’s her last – the film that went on to be one of the best romantic comedies of our times, ‘Jab We Met’. © liillas In this video, Imtiaz Ali reveals that one moment that convinced him to make ‘Jab We Met’ and if you’re a fan of his work too, this is one precious insight!
