  1. When people want bigger arms, they generally focus on their biceps only. That's because biceps are the most shown off muscle on the planet! But this is exactly where you are wrong. To have huge guns, you need to concentrate more on your triceps than biceps. If you don't know this already, let me tell you that around 66% of your arm is made up of triceps and the rest is biceps. As the name itself suggests, there are three muscle heads in the tricep muscle group unlike two in biceps muscle group. Today, I am going to tell you exercises which will help you get bigger and thicker triceps. The Anatomy Of Triceps Since there are three heads of the tricep muscle group, it is important that we include an exercise for every head. The three heads in the triceps are the lateral head (that makes the horseshoe shape), the medial head and the long head. While extending the elbow and straightening the arm is done primarily by the lateral and medial head, the long head is responsible for adduction along with the lats (back muscles). Now, there are various exercises that can be done to isolate the triceps but I'll tell you the 5 most effective in this article. 1) Close Grip Bench Press © YouTube This exercise is performed on a normal bench press. The movement is identical to a bench press with the only difference being the grip with which the barbell is grabbed. While in a bench press, the grip is more than shoulder width apart and the grip of arm is very close. The distance between the hands will be the distance that equals a little more than both thumbs placed together on the bar. 2) Skull Crusher © YouTube This exercise is done on an isolated flat bench. Though you can use the normal barbell, ideally, the EZ Bar is recommended because of better impact on the lateral head of the triceps. The starting position of the exercise is when your arms are perpendicular to the floor. Slowly lower the barbell towards your head till it reaches just above your face and then push it back to where you started. You can perform heavy sets as well as drop sets in this exercise. 3) Pulley Pushdown © YouTube I am sure that this exercise must already be a part of your exercise regime, if not; you've missed the Universal Exercise of triceps. Drop sets, heavy sets, partial sets, eccentric sets you name it, every form of workout can be done on the pulley machine to work your triceps. The best part is that you don't even need a spotter for it. Since the pulley and knob is in front of you, you can adjust the weights by yourself accordingly. The variation for this exercise includes various other grips like the V-Bar, reverse grip, Rope Grip etc. 4) Overhead Extension © YouTube This exercise can be performed either with help of a dumbbell or using a rope in a high pulley. This exercise concentrates more on the long head, which I've seen is generally weak in a lot of people. Since folks only concentrate on pulley down, the long head of the triceps is hardly trained. A variation of this exercise includes using both hands and single hand to lift the rope or dumbbell. 5) Bench Dips © YouTube This is one of my favorite exercises as you don't even need gym equipment to perform this exercise. All you need is two benches which are almost of the same height. Place your hands on one bench and legs on the other. Now slowly lower yourself till your arms make a 90 degree angle. This is also one of the most effective exercises for triceps. You can also add weights to your lap to increase the difficulty level. 2. There is no denying that 2017 was primarily owned by superheroes, Jedis, mystical creatures and clowns who love to feast on kids. But, no matter how successful they were; it was 'action' that turned out to the ultimate winner, ruling our hearts like no one else. At least, the recently released Forbes list of top grossing actors proves the same, after actor Vin Diesel grabbed the top spot. © universal ppictures Vin Diesel defeated his 'Fast and Furious' co-star Dwayne Johnson aka 'The Rock', and 'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot to become this year's top grossing actor. According to Forbes, Diesel's 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' and 'The Fate of the Furious' collectively raked in $1.6 billion, thanks to the gigantic success of the eighth installment of 'Fast and Furious'. © paramount pictures Johnson's movies 'Baywatch', 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' and 'The Fate of the Furious', on the other hand made $1.5 billion so far. It seems, even a good star cast couldn't help save 'Baywatch' or make Johnson inch closer to beating Diesel. As 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' has hit the theatres recently, it will continue adding to his total, but for this year he has lost the crown to Diesel. Honestly, had his voiceovers from 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' as the adorable Groot been included in the picture, Diesel would have easily crossed $2 billion. © warner bros. Surprisingly (or maybe not), the third spot was taken by none other than 'Wonder Woman' actress Gal Gadot whose films, which also includes 'Justice League', made $1.4 billion globally. Her debut as Diana, the Amazonian princess and an unconquerable warrior, was undoubtedly the biggest blockbuster of summer. In fact, 'Wonder Woman' also became the highest grossing live-action movie ever directed by a woman (take a bow Patty Jenkins). Furthermore, her performance in 'Justice League' too added millions to the already huge figure that Gadot was already taking home. © walt disney Apart from Diesel, Johnson and Gadot, the list also includes Emma Watson, who shed her Hermione avatar to become Belle in this year's smashing hit 'Beauty And The Beast' and grabbed the fourth spot with $1.3 billion. The list also includes, Johnny Depp ($1.1 billion), Daisy Ridley ($1.08 billion), Tom Holland ($888 million), Chris Pratt ($864 million), Chris Hemsworth ($845 million) and John Boyega ($815 million).
  3. Back in the day when the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was still World Wrestling Federation (WWF), the popular sporting event had kids glued to the television sets to catch their favourite wrestlers in action. While some flaunted their trump card collections, others couldn't resist pulling off the popular manoeuvres of wrestlers on their friends and even on a few family members. Amongst many iconic wrestling stars including Shawn Michaels, Triple H and The Undertaker, one man reigned supreme - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Such was his aura in and out of the ring that it helped the star develop a fanbase in every corner of the globe. And, as it turns out, India is no different. © BCCL While a lot has changed over the years and he may no longer feature in the WWE, there has been no shortage to Johnson's fan following - thanks to his success in Hollywood. The 45-year-old was recently in India to promote his upcoming flick 'Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle' which is slated for release on 29 December. In a video, aimed at rekindling his love with the Indian fans, Johnson surprised everyone by talking about the country's "natural obsession" - cricket. While many would have doubted his understanding of the sport, Johnson shocked everyone by successfully identifying MS Dhoni's signature shot - The Helicopter hit. .@TheRock's in a never-seen-before avatar for the millions of ? fans! Check out what he's cooking & catch Jumanji in cinemas. @SonyPicsIndia pic.twitter.com/rZRG61XWgM — Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) December 24, 2017 Not only did he know Dhoni's iconic shot, Johnson went on to correctly identify Tillakeratne Dilshan's ramp shot and the slow bouncer. In the Q&A round that was labelled as 'What's it called with Dwayne Johnson?', the American got all the answers right. But, not before stuttering in the first set of questions. Early in the video, Johnson was seen trying hard to guess the signals of cricket umpires on the field. When he was shown an umpire signalling 'out' for the batsman, the actor answered, “You are number one”. After being told the right answer, he asked his fans to bear with him. © BCCL When shown a 'third umpire' signal, he said, it means, “It is impossible to fit your handsomeness and sexiness into one box.” For the 'no-ball', he replied, “Hey Rock, your millions and millions of your India fans are that way (while giving the signal).” When shown the signal for a 'six', according to Johnson, it meant, “Who loves The Rock? We do!” which he likened to the home run in baseball terminology, which is the national game of the US.
  4. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov (R) shakes hands with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson at the end of a joint press conference following their meeting in Moscow, Russia, December 22, 2017. AFP/Yuri Kadobnov MOSCOW: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson clashed Friday over Russia's alleged interference in the Brexit vote even as they sought to mend ties after years of antagonism. During the first official visit by a foreign minister from London in five years, the outspoken Johnson attempted to open lines of communication and both foreign chiefs tried to show their two countries were willing to consider rapprochement. But they also exchanged barbs on everything from Russia's alleged interference in British politics to Moscow's involvement in Ukraine and Syria, and the atmosphere at times grew tense during their joint news conference. Later Friday, Johnson laid flowers at a makeshift memorial on a bridge near the Kremlin where opposition leader Boris Nemtsov was assassinated in 2015. Speaking to reporters after their talks, the two diplomats appeared to clash over claims that Russia had sought to influence the Brexit vote last year, with Lavrov telling Johnson to come up with hard evidence proving Russia's alleged interference. Sparring over Brexit Lavrov said he welcomed Johnson's November comment in which the British minister said he saw no evidence, "not a sausage," that Russia had interfered in British elections. "Not successfully," Johnson interrupted. "See, he has to say this so that he is not criticised back home, for his reputation," Lavrov responded. "It's your reputation I'm worried about, Sergei," Johnson hit back jokingly in a tense exchange through interpreters. Lavrov said accusations of Moscow's meddling in the Western political systems had been invented by the West and that Moscow had yet to see any "concrete evidence" to back them up. "I think you've made it all up in your Western company," he said. "It's very difficult to climb down from the fence." Following the 2016 referendum on Brexit, in which Johnson campaigned to leave the European Union, Britain has joined the growing number of Western countries accusing Russia of interfering in their political systems. Lavrov also complained that London had refused to hand over to Moscow classified information on Alexander Litvinenko's case, referring to the Kremlin critic and former spy, whose murder by radiation poisoning in London in 2006 sent bilateral ties into a tailspin. At the same time, the Russian diplomat praised his talks with Johnson, saying he felt no "hostility," and added that Moscow was ready for dialogue with London on equal terms. "We are ready to develop dialogue on a very wide range of issues on the basis of principles of equality (and) taking into account and respecting each other's interests," he said. Moscow wanted Friday's talks to lead to "concrete steps" that would help revive relations, he added. "Our ties ? there is no secret here ? are at a very low point," Lavrov said. 'A mirage? A false dawn?' Johnson for his part called himself a "committed Russophile." "We have to find a way forward and in the meantime, I think we have to cooperate in those areas where we can to build a better future," he said. The two displayed a degree of camaraderie, with Lavrov joking he trusted his British guest enough to pronounce his first name in the Russian way as "Barees." Johnson for his part played up his Russian ancestry and said his trust in Lavrov was so deep that he handed him his coat. "I can say that there was nothing in the pockets of Boris's coat," Lavrov immediately joked, to which Johnson responded: "So you have searched it already?" Jokes were put aside later Friday as he urged Moscow to uphold human rights in a speech to students at a Moscow university. Johnson said that in the 1990s Britain and Russia used to share the same ideals of freedom including the freedom to speak one's mind and express one's sexuality, a reference to Moscow's clampdown on the rights of gays and lesbians. "I hope that moment of convergence will seem not to have been a fluke, not an illusion, not a mirage or a false dawn," he said in comments released by the Foreign Office. "I hope that time will come again." Johnson arrived in Russia after cancelling in April a planned trip at the last minute over Russia's support for the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad. Britain has also been a fervent supporter of Western sanctions against Russia over its role in the Ukraine conflict and annexation of Crimea in 2014.
  5. Dwayne Johnson has been accepted into the Hollywood establishment with a Walk of Fame star LOS ANGELES: He´s been named "sexiest man alive" and "world´s highest paid film star" -- now Dwayne Johnson can celebrate being accepted into the Hollywood establishment with a Walk of Fame star. The 45-year-old football player turned wrestling pro and then actor sported a sharp black suit and was joined by longtime partner Lauren Hashian and their almost two-year-old daughter Jasmine at the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard. "I didn´t want to write anything down. I figured this is such a monumental moment and significant time for me it´s probably best I just speak from the heart and from my gut," the Herculean father-of-two said. He told cheering fans the 2,624th star on the Walk was the result of years of hard work, voicing gratitude for the opportunities he´d been afforded and the friends and family who´d helped him along the way. "This moment is so significant because it´s full circle. 2018 will mark 18 years in Hollywood and that is a very long time of blood, sweat and earning respect," he added. Johnson announced Monday on Instagram that he and Hashian were expecting a second child, hours before they stepped out for the premiere of his latest movie "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." 'The Rock' Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, paid tribute to the actor, who has entertained the possibility that he might run for president in 2020. "Dwayne said he would use me as a bar bell if I didn´t show up," Rothman joked, before describing his friend as a "global superstar with hundreds of millions of fans and billions of dollars in box office." Johnson´s recent work includes "Baywatch," "The Fate of The Furious," "Central Intelligence" and "San Andreas," as well as the HBO comedy "Ballers." Reputed to be one of the hardest-working stars in Hollywood, he has been in 14 movies in just four years, including previous installments of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, "Hercules," "Snitch," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Empire State," "Pain and Gain," and "Moana." Born on May 2, 1972, in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised in Hawaii and Pennsylvania, Johnson grew to six foot five inches (196 centimeters) and weighs 245 pounds (111 kilograms). He played defensive tackle at the University of Miami and went on to a stint on the practice roster of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 1995. Johnson became a professional wrestler in 1996, following his father, Rocky Johnson, and grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. He would become an eight-time World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment champion. Nicknamed "The Rock" due to his strength in the ring and roughhewn features, he was declared "sexiest man alive" by People magazine in November 2016. It was a good year for the actor, who was also named the world´s highest paid film star by Forbes magazine.
  6. Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif shakes hands with Britain's Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson during their meeting in Tehran, Iran, December 9, 2017. Tasnim News Agency/Handout via REUTERS DUBAI: British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson flew to Tehran on Saturday to seek the release of a jailed British-Iranian aid worker. The Foreign Office said Johnson spoke ?frankly? with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif about ?consular cases of dual nationals? such as Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who Britain says was visiting family on holiday when she was jailed by Iran for attempting to overthrow the government. The case has taken on domestic political importance in Britain, especially since Johnson said last month that Zaghari-Ratcliffe trained journalists, which her employer denies. Johnson later apologized. Opponents have called for him to resign if his comments lead to her serving longer in prison. Johnson is also expected to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday to discuss bilateral and regional issues, a Foreign Office official said, during just the third visit by a British foreign minister to Iran in the last 14 years. Talks with Zarif were ?constructive?, Johnson?s office said, despite differences between the two countries. ?They both spoke frankly about the obstacles in the relationship, including the Foreign Secretary?s concerns about the consular cases of British-Iranian dual nationals,? a British Foreign Office spokeswoman said in a statement. The two-day visit takes place against a complex backdrop of historical, regional and bilateral tensions. Johnson stressed Britain?s support for Iran?s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers in the meeting, the spokeswoman said. International sanctions against Iran have only recently been lifted as part of the multilateral nuclear deal to curb Tehran?s disputed uranium enrichment program. That deal is under threat after US President Donald Trump decided to decertify Iran?s compliance with its terms. Johnson told Zarif he believed the deal should be fully implemented. Johnson also met Ali Shamkhani ? the secretary of Iran?s Supreme National Security Council ? and parliament speaker Ali Larijani during the first day of his two-day visit, Iran?s state news agency IRNA reported. The Foreign Office statement did not mention Zaghari-Ratcliffe by name, although Johnson has vowed to leave ?no stone unturned? in Britain?s efforts to free her. A project manager with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, she was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted by an Iranian court of plotting to overthrow the clerical establishment. She denies the charges. Zaghari-Ratcliffe is not the only dual national being held in Iran but has become the most high-profile case. The Thomson Reuters Foundation is a charity organization that is independent of Thomson Reuters and operates independently of Reuters News. It says Zaghari-Ratcliffe had been on holiday and had not been teaching journalism in Iran. Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been told she will appear in court on December 10, her husband Richard has said. The visit is a test of Johnson?s ability to navigate a political landscape littered with potential pitfalls. Iran?s 1979 Revolution turned it into a pariah state for most of the West and many Middle Eastern neighbours. Britain has voiced its continued support for the nuclear deal but is one of a number of Western powers voicing concerns about Tehran?s ?destabilizing? influence in the region.
  7. The new stories will not follow the Skywalker saga, which George Lucas kicked off with 1977?s ?Episode IV: A New Hope" LOS ANGELES: As ?Star Wars? fans gear up for ?The Last Jedi,? the anticipated next installment in the Skywalker series, its star and writer-director shed some light on how the franchise was mapping a future beyond the beloved characters. Rian Johnson, writer-director of ?The Last Jedi,? will be overseeing a new trilogy of ?Star Wars? films that will explore far-away corners of the galaxy, Walt Disney Co said in November. ?I?m just in the very beginning phases of coming up with it so right now the sky is kind of the limit,? Johnson said while promoting ?The Last Jedi? last week. ?The appeal of it to me is to do a new story told over three movies, to have that kind of canvas, to be in the Star Wars world and to have the feel of a Star Wars film,? he said. The new stories will not follow the Skywalker saga, which George Lucas kicked off with 1977?s ?Episode IV: A New Hope.? Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4 billion, and rebooted the ?Star Wars? franchise with the Skywalker trilogy and standalone films like ?Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.? Johnson?s ?The Last Jedi? picks up the Skywalker story after 2015?s blockbuster ?The Force Awakens,? in which a new generation of characters was introduced with returning favorites Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Fisher died last year.
  8. Arguably one of the oldest rivalries in international cricket, the Ashes outweighs all other cricketing rivalries in age, legacy, longevity and the sheer weight of history involved. The Test series between England and Australia is rich in plot points and full of competitive edge which offers engrossing encounters more often, than not. It's full of drama, not just on the field, but off it as well. While the players from both sides are engrossed in their respective duels on the ground, the Ashes also witnesses the involvement of fans, commentators, media and former players who enjoy their fair share of action away from the field. © Reuters And, the ongoing 2017-18 Ashes is proving to be no different either. While the Aussie brigade outplayed England in the series opener with a 10-wicket win at the Gabba, the verbal volleys including insults flying in from both the side have taken the centre stage. That's exactly what happened when former cricketers Mitchell Johnson and Kevin Pietersen had a go at each other on Twitter. Pietersen, who is part of the commentary team for the Ashes, irked Johnson by his observation of fast bowlers from both the teams. Hey @KP24 @MichaelVaughan yesterday were carrying on about the pommy fast bowlers being able to bowl in the 140's. Ever since they've taken the second new ball they've been bowling medium pace. They are allowed to bend their backs, and there's 4 of them #ashes #sweatbandswinger — Mitchell Johnson (@MitchJohnson398) November 25, 2017 "Hey @KP24 @MichaelVaughan yesterday were carrying on about the pommy fast bowlers being able to bowl in the 140's. Ever since they've taken the second new ball they've been bowling medium pace. They are allowed to bend their backs, and there's 4 of them #ashes #sweatbandswinger," Johnson tweeted in response to KP and Michael Vaughan's views. Mitchell, is this you or your management tweeting? If it's you, you not helping yourself! If it's your management, ask them to stop or sack them! — KP (@KP24) November 27, 2017 Johnson received a befitting response by Pietersen who replied: ""Mitchell, is this you or your management tweeting? If it's you, you not helping yourself! If it's your management, ask them to stop or sack them!". ð´ð´ð´ Good response #flog — Mitchell Johnson (@MitchJohnson398) November 27, 2017 The former Australian seamer mocked Pietersen before replying back, "Good response #flog". But, what began as a friendly banter, soon turned awry and then, the most unexpected thing happened: Pietersen blocked Mitch. Yep, as funny as it may sound, it really happened. ð¤£ð¤£ pic.twitter.com/QLbwnfiUvR — Mitchell Johnson (@MitchJohnson398) November 27, 2017 Johnson must've been looking to fire in another volley when he noticed that the former England batsman has blocked him. He shared a screenshot of the same on Twitter to much amusement of the Oz fans. We had earlier seen players exchanging pleasantries on the field, former cricketers getting under the skin of each other and even the Barmy Army using David Warner's wife Candice's toilet tryst to rattle the Oz star. But, there was no sign of individuals getting blocked. One game in the five-match series and we've already seen so much. We wonder what's going to happen next as the two sides prepare to lock horns in the remaining four Tests. Meanwhile, here's what the folks on Twitter felt about KP's decision to block Mitch: Hahahah so he's happy to dish it out, but can't receive? — Will (@trillsingh) November 27, 2017 Just figured out that KP never hit a six off Mitchell Johnson in his international career, think he was always looking to block him. — Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad) November 28, 2017 Not sure why KP has thrown his toys out of his cot. Read the original tweet from Mitch and he was just stating the facts. It was totally in the spirit of the game. Ashes is a BIG BOY game. The England pace attack was tired and having problems dealing with the heat. Toughen Up — Matthew Lingard (@matthewl1967) November 28, 2017 This time A bouncer by #Mitch, what happens after this.. Princess ððð pic.twitter.com/CsakQoUU6I — Rajkiran (@ImBylu) November 29, 2017 solid defence Test cricket misses you KP — ProChond (@prochond_shorma) November 28, 2017 Mitch upsetting KP as usual. ðð — Dithara xx (@PrincessDithara) November 28, 2017 If you can't handle them, block them. ð — WaÑiyullah Budye (@WasiyullahB) November 29, 2017
  9. US President Donald Trump´s motorcade leaves Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, US, November 24, 2017. REUTERS/Eric Thayer JUPITER: US President Donald Trump played a round of golf on Friday with star professionals Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson, a rare admission that he is taking time out for his favourite pastime. Trump regularly spends his weekends at a golf course, but the White House typically declines to confirm that the Republican president is, in fact, golfing. Trump was on his golf course for four hours, long enough to play 18 holes. Reporters and photographers travelling with him stayed in a clubhouse and were not permitted to see any part of the match, but pictures from club members appeared on social media. Friday was the third consecutive day that Trump has visited a golf course during his Thanksgiving holiday, which he is spending at a resort he owns in Florida. But it was the first time he has said he was on the greens. Emphasizing that he would first call Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to discuss Middle East peace issues ? and later work on economic issues ? Trump said on Twitter that he would ?play golf (quickly) with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.? Johnson is the world?s top-ranked golfer, and Woods is a former world champion who has been trying to make a comeback after a series of back surgeries. Trump also golfed with Woods in Florida last December. Trump himself is no slouch. Golf Digest magazine has said he has a ?low single-digit handicap? and may be the best golfer to hold the office of president. Former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, also was an avid golfer, spending most weekends and downtime on the course with friends, staff and occasionally fellow world leaders or stars like Woods. During Obama?s tenure, the White House routinely released the names of his golf partners. But Trump, who regularly excoriated Obama on Twitter for the amount of time he spent golfing, has taken a different tack, most often declining to say whom he is spending time with on the greens.
  10. Before you read this and start spewing hate, let me tell you that I am just as much a fan of 'The Rock' as anyone who grew up watching the legend. From every WWE match to his not so anticipated start in Hollywood, I have tracked Johnson's rise for over 12 years now. It's 2017 and we are a long way from the 90s. Dwayne is bigger (incredibly jacked) and richer. Most importantly, he's more loved than he ever was. Social media has brought his fans closer to him and this has converted to Hollywood success. He's not only the highest paid actor on the planet but also one of the least hated actors as well. Noone has a bad thing to say about him. All This Box-Office Success But The Reality Is That Dwayne's Movies Suck! Since his debut in 1999, The Rock's been in 37 movies. A lot of which were low budget, run-of-the-mill productions. How social media changed Dwayne's fortune at the box office is pretty evident. To give you a more precise understanding, I'll divide his Hollywood career into pre-2010 and post 2010. Now, it's needless to say how dull the internet was before 2010 and how unfathomably exciting it became after 2010. Dwayne starred in exactly 15 films between 2000 and 2010. With 'The Mummy Returns' (2001) and 'The Scorpion King' (2002), he cemented his place in Hollywood. Apart from these films, 'Doom' and 'Grid Iron Gang' were the only two movies that made a little noise at the box office. Most of these movies lacked a decent plot and any sort of character development. So, almost 10 films that he starred in, apart from the ones mentioned above, went completely unnoticed, making little to no money. Welcome the weed like growth of social media. From 2010 to this day, the Rock has his hands on more than 22 movies, most of which, like the 'Pain and Gain', 'Fast and Furious 6', 'Hercules', 'Central Intelligence' and 'Furious 7' were billion dollar babies. You see the difference here? The more The Rock interacted with his followers, the more money his movies made. Still Don't Agree? Here Is A List Of Dwayne's Movies You Probably Haven't Even Heard Of Beyond the Mat (1999) Longshot (2000) Be Cool (2005) Reno 911!: Miami (2007) Southland Tales (2007) The Game Plan (2007) Get Smart (2008) Planet 51 (2009) Tooth Fairy (2010) Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010) The Other Guys (2010) You Again (2010) Faster (2010) Snitch (2013) Empire State (2013) Take your time to remember them all. I'll wait ! The Masses Love The Rock For The Magnificent Person He Is, Not Because Of The Movies He Makes Social Media is brutal and judgmental. Make a wrong move and you will be trolled, roasted and memed' out. Dwayne though, is immune to all the social media negativity and hate. There's not a single reason that anybody has to hate him. Not one! People already loved him and with the intervention of social media, they are expressing their love for him more personally than ever before. Even when he was tossing wrestlers in the ring and not making bank at the box-office, he was still the people's champ. He's out there with all his humbleness and gratitude, greeting his fans like family. You know it and the internet knows it. His attitude towards life is so positive that it can brighten up the bleakest of days. Have you personally seen a public personality as famous and as busy as him taking out the time to consistently put out stuff on social media? Nope, there isn't any. He is one with his fans and this is what drives his success and money at the box office, not his acting skills. He's Always Been A Great Entertainer But Never A Great Actor People loved the Rock in the ring. That was him entertaining people. He's probably the best entertainer in showbiz in the past 15 years. From his social media accounts, interviews to his public interactions, he's a fountain of entertainment that just keeps on giving but in no way is he a stellar actor. He's a decent one but not an outstanding actor. Then why is he paid the most for being an actor? Good question. The answer to this is exactly what I explained above. People flock to watch his films to show him their love. Just like he loves them, they give it back with sold-out shows of his movies. He's Not An Actor But A People's Champ Who Will Remain So No Matter What Dwayne is a shining example of what giving love to fans can do. They don't care about his acting skills. They just go and buy the ticket because they love to see him on the screen. And he gives back to them via an incredibly active social media schedule and surprise stop-bys at red lights and traffic junctions. That's a people's champ who never went to an acting school and still became the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Everybody knows his hustle right from the gutter to the penthouses and that is a story that is relatable to millions. Does all this make him a great actor? No. Does all this make him a great entertainer who you wouldn't mind seeing on the silver screen? Hell yeah!
  11. LONDON: A military option must remain on the table in dealing with North Korea?s nuclear program, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said on Monday, adding that nobody wants tensions in the Korean peninsula to be resolved in such a way. ?I don?t think anybody could conceivably want a military solution to this problem,? Johnson said at a speech in London. ?And yet clearly... the possibility of some kind of military option... that possibility must at least theoretically be maintained on the table.?

  14. A California judge on Friday threw out a $417 million verdict against Johnson & Johnson in a lawsuit by a woman who claimed she developed ovarian cancer after using its talc-based products like Johnson?s Baby Powder for feminine hygiene. The ruling by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maren Nelson marked the latest setback facing women and family members who accuse J&J of not adequately warning consumers about the cancer risks of its talc-based products. The decision followed a jury?s decision in August to hit J&J with the largest verdict to date in the litigation, awarding California resident Eva Echeverria $70 million in compensatory damages and $347 million in punitive damages. Nelson on Friday reversed the jury verdict and granted J&J?s request for a new trial. Nelson said the August trial was underpinned by errors and insufficient evidence on both sides, culminating in excessive damages. Mark Robinson, who represented the woman in her lawsuit, in a statement said he would file an appeal immediately. ?We will continue to fight on behalf of all women who have been impacted by this dangerous product,? he said. J&J in a statement said it was pleased with the verdict, adding that it will continue to defend itself in additional trials. The judge added that there also had been misconduct of the jury during the trial. J&J said declarations by two jurors after the trial showed that three members of the 12-person jury who voted against finding the company liable were improperly excluded from determining damages. J&J says it faces lawsuits by 4,800 plaintiffs nationally asserting talc-related claims. Many of those cases are in California, where Echeverria?s case was the first to go to trial, and in Missouri, where J&J has faced five trials. The Missouri litigation led to four verdicts against J&J in which juries issued verdicts totalling $307 million. The company has only won one trial. But the Missouri cases, which have largely been brought by out-of-state plaintiffs, have faced jurisdictional questions after the Supreme Court issued a ruling in June that limited where personal injury lawsuits could be filed. On Tuesday, a Missouri appellate court threw out a $72 million verdict by a jury in February 2016 to the family of a deceased Alabama woman after ruling the case should not have been tried in St. Louis.
  15. Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson is one of the biggest stars on the planet. After a successful career as a professional wrestler, he flawlessly transitioned into an incredible actor and ‘rocked' the movie industry. And, just as flawlessly, he has managed to transform his infamous Brahma Bull tattoo that had been on his right arm for about 20 years. Even though it had been his signature ink since his wrestling days, the ink wasn't that impressive, to say the least. © The Inquisitr But, not anymore! It took 3 sessions and 22 hours of painful hardwork under Nikko Hurtado's inky needle, but the tattoo has been completely transformed. Dwayne Johnson himself has deemed it the ‘evolution of the bull' and it actually looks really cool. Evolution of the bull begins w/ @nikkohurtado. I've engrained this bull in my DNA for two decades. My core. Humbly, it's also become a symbol of strength, resilience, heart, power and defiance to so many people around the world. I got this tattoo when I was just a kid. Now I need it to reflect me as a man. All my ink is a rite of passage and spiritual and the MANA (power and spirit) has to be right before we begin. Mana is strong with world renowned Nikko. We talked for hours about the man I am today, compared to who I once was. And who I'll always be. We all desire to grow and evolve. The mana is right.. let the blood and pain begin. #EvolutionOfTheBull #WheresMyVicodin A post shared by therock (@therock) on Aug 7, 2017 at 5:36pm PDT After the tattoo was done, he posted a comparison picture on Instagram, with a lengthy and poetic explanation in the caption of what this new ink represents and means to him. Evolution of the bull. Blood, sweat & years. After 3 sessions and 22hrs of tattooing with world renowned @NikkoHurtado, the story's almost done.. Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. From the cracks and heavy damage in the bone representing life's hard lessons I've learned over the years. Just like scars and wrinkles - I'm so grateful to have 'em because they're earned. To the horns, not pointing up or out to the side, but pointing straight ahead representing relentless energy and forward progress. The core and anchor of this image is in the eye. Look closely and you'll find the life, energy, power and you'll feel the MANA (spirit). The eye tells the story of a disruptive positive energy always ready to dent the universe. Depending on the light and angle, sometimes the energy's subtle and sometimes it's glaring. But it's always alive and ready to disrupt the universe and love and protect my family and all things I love with intense passion and gratitude. Cheers to living, learning, evolving and growing. And to the positive disrupters ready to dent the universe. #EvolutionOfTheBull #TheDisrupter #TheMana #NowLetsBreakOutTheTequila A post shared by therock (@therock) on Aug 11, 2017 at 8:26am PDT He wrote, “Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. Everyone always sees what is on the outside what is shown of our lives no one truly knows behind the scenes. @therock is a true gentleman how I came to tattoo him I do not know. I am a truly blessed human. (Thank you Matt) the process of tattooing a client starts with a meeting always finding out what it is they want. Tattoos are markings on the body that are with you for ever. Imagine choosing a birthmark. The tattoo has to represent you, who you are and what you feel, your image and your personality. @therock and I spend time going back and fourth showing him different ideas, different horns different mana. I always want to do what I want to do but I always have to remind myself that when I tattoo a client it is for them and theirs to wear the rest of their lives. I am excited to tweak and build this tattoo a little further after it heals. When I complete a tattoo in one sitting it is never finished my clients all know this to well. I let the tattoo heal, live, age a little before I come back to it and layer it see what it needs to give it the sculpting or life it requires to be abandoned because we all know art is never finished it is simply abandoned. I am grateful I am blessed I have been given the new gift of knowing about "Mana" thank you world your are nothing short of amazing. Thank you @therock till next time same channel same page! 16. Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson has had a long journey. From struggling to get into his college football team to winning 17 wrestling championships to becoming one of the most loved Hollywood stars, The Rock has come a long way. The man works out like a beast and has never shied away from hard work. © Instagram/The Rock In a moving post on Instagram, The Rock shared how his father taught him an unforgettable lesson in life – one that made him the man he is today. He revealed how his father pushed him to strive harder in life, to give his everything to a task at hand. To sweat it out even if it meant getting his ass whipped. He says: “Leaving it all...means you give every f*cking ounce of effort you can, to give the best performance you can give. Whatever it is you do, whatever job you have.. at the end of the day, leave it all there.” Leave it all on the set. Back when I was a punk kid my dad would take me to the gym on weekends and kick the shit outta me in the weight room and on the wrestling mats. He'd say you didn't get up early to come here and give half ass effort. Leave it all in the gym. Years later when I played ball at The U, we applied the same principles: we left it all on the field. When I became a pro wrestler, that was part of my nightly pre match prayer. Asked for the strength to leave it all in ring - whether I was wrestling in flea markets or sold out stadiums. Leaving it all...means you give every f*cking ounce of effort you can, to give the best performance you can give. Whatever it is you do, whatever job you have.. at the end of the day, leave it all there. Rampage has been the most physically grueling role of my career. Got my ass kicked and handed back to me the whole movie. But I'm grateful to go to bed 💯 satisfied I left it all on the set. His life hasn't been easy but the man overcame hardships and taught his son a lesson in strength. Dwayne shared his dad's heartbreaking story last year, when he bought his father a car as a Christmas gift. He says in the post: “In front of the entire family, my dad's mom looked at him and said get out. He was 13yrs old and now homeless. That f*cked up true story happened in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1954.” Bought my dad a Christmas gift and surprised him. He's had a hard life. This one felt good. My dad, Rocky Johnson is a minimalist. Always has been. Never asks me for much and over the years his needs are always the barest. Crazy story, my dad's dad died when he was 13yrs old. That Christmas, my dad's mom had her new boyfriend over for Christmas dinner. Her boyfriend got drunk and pissed on the turkey. My dad went outside, got a shovel, drew a line in the snow and said if you cross that line I'll kill you. The drunk crossed it and my dad laid him out cold as a block of ice. Cops were called. They told my dad's mom that when her boyfriend regains consciousness, he's gonna kill your son so one of them has got to go. In front of the entire family, my dad's mom looked at him and said get out. He was 13yrs old and now homeless. That f*cked up true story happened in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1954. He needed the bare minimum then, just like does now. Over the years, I've moved him into a big home, got him trucks to drive - which he'll literally drive into the ground until I get him something else. Hell, I'll get him anything he wants, but the SOB just won't ask;). Every Christmas, I always think about that story and my dad having every odd stacked against him at 13, but he fought thru it and still made something of himself. Makes me appreciate his struggle and hard work. Also, makes me appreciate the fun times he would beat my ass in the gym so bad when I was 13 and say "If you're gonna throw up, go outside.. and if you're gonna cry, then go home to your mother". I hated it then, but I embrace it now. Made a man outta me. Without pissing on my turkey. 😂👍🏾. Just a small way of saying thank you dad and Merry Christmas! #DwantaClaus🎅🏾 A post shared by therock (@therock) on Dec 30, 2016 at 10:15am PST The Rock has often been vocal about his admiration and love for his father. His father's tale of struggle is an inspiration for many, but the lessons he taught his son are even bigger. Fathers can give you immense strength and now we know from where Dwayne Johnson gets his.

  21. Mumbai Indians crowned IPL 2017 champions. Photo: Sportzpics/IPL HYDERABAD, INDIA: Paceman Mitchell Johnson inspired Mumbai Indians to a landmark third Indian Premier League title with crucial wickets for a single run victory over Rising Pune Supergiant on Sunday. Mumbai are the first team to win the IPL three times in its 10 year history and captain Rohit Sharma said it had been a "brilliant effort" to turn just 129-8 into a winning score in the tense final. "I couldn´t ask for more. Whenever you´re defending a total like that, the first thing you have to do is believe," said Sharma. Johnson (3-26) and Jasprit Bumrah (2-26) got assistance from the pitch as they turned the screws on Pune with time running out. "When three overs were left, I had confidence in the bowlers. They´ve always done the job wherever they´ve played. It was about giving freedom to them because they´re the masters and they´ve done it before. I just told them to do whatever they want and set the field accordingly," said Sharma. Australian Johnson´s three wickets included the prize scalp of Pune skipper Steve Smith in the final over. Bumrah´s two strikes included the big wicket of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (10), playing in his seventh IPL final. Mumbai Indians' Mitchell Johnson bowled the crucial last over. Photo: Sportzpics/IPL Chasing 130, Pune batsmen faltered on a slow track to end on 128-6 at Hyderabad´s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Smith´s dogged knock went in vain as Pune, who needed 11 in the final over, lost three wickets to Johnson´s left-arm pace and some sharp fielding. Daniel Christian was run out while going for the third run to tie the game. Mumbai erupted with joy after becoming the only team to win three titles after triumphs in 2013 and 2015. Pune, who ended seventh in the eight-team event last season, lost an early wicket but Ajinkya Rahane (44) played sensible cricket with a 54-run partnership with Smith. No fairy tale Pune seemed to be cruising at 98-2 in the 17th over with Smith and Dhoni at the crease but Mumbai had other ideas in their fourth appearance in an IPL final. "It´s a hard one to swallow," said Smith who called the Mumbai target "below par". "It was a tough wicket to get runs, everyone could see that. We just couldn´t get over the line," he added. "It´s just disappointing to lose. It wasn´t the fairy tale finish we wanted." Pune pace spearhead Jaydev Unadkat took an impressive 2-19 to restrict Mumbai after they elected to bat first. Unadkat, 25, who has played one Test and seven one-day internationals for India, remained two wickets behind the highest wicket-taker in Bhuvneshwar Kumar (26 wickets) of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sharma broke the shackles with the first boundary of the innings on the opening delivery of the sixth over. Three more followed with paceman Lockie Ferguson at the receiving end. When realisation of defeat sunk in. Photo: Sportzpics/IPL But Sharma´s four boundaries were the only bright spot in his 22-ball 24 before losing his wicket to leg-spinner Adam Zampa. Mumbai slipped to 79-7, but Krunal Pandya´s heavy hitting 47 lifted the team to respectability. He put on a fighting 50-run eight-wicket partnership with Johnson (13 not out). Left-hander Pandya smashed three fours and two sixes during his 38-ball blitz to help Mumbai gather 48 in the last five overs. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa and fellow Australian Christian also took two wickets each. Pune improved their tournament record but may have played their last game of the cash-rich league. Their two-year run along with the Gujarat Lions ended this season. They were denied an extension by the league´s governing council this month and both will have to place fresh bids in 2018. Pune and Gujarat got IPL places after Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years in 2015 for their role in a betting controversy. They can return for 2018.
  22. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson—a 6’5” ft giant of a man, superstar, sexiest man alive and, hopefully, future president of USA—arrived at the premiere of his summer blockbuster looking chill AF. © justjared The wrestler-turned-movie star wore a powder/sorbet blue Alexander Wang shirt—that has bikini babes printed on it, with white jeans (or are those pants?), Gucci sneakers, classic aviators and a million dollar smile. © people The outfit was perfect against the sun-and-sea Miami backdrop where the world premiere was held. © Instagram He was so excited that he landed a sneaky (read: friendly) kiss on Priyanka Chopra. The Insta-video is now going viral, for all the right reasons, obviously!
  23. Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock said that “it’s a real possibility” he’ll one day run for president of the United States. Johnson had previously said about his interest in the job. “I used to say it jokingly but every time I was asked, it was with a real genuine interest. And it was very earnest,” he said in an interview. The 45-year-old actor further explained that President Trump and Hillary Clinton‘s presidential campaigns asked him for an endorsement last year, but he declined both. “I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement,” he said. “But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen.” He continued, “I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.” Asked to offer his opinion on Trump’s tenure so far, Johnson instead pondered how he would approach his own presidency. “Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important,” he explained. “Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them.” Johnson said he’d “like to see a better leadership,” and said he would try to learn how to “be better” from disagreements with a large group of people, “for example, the media.” “We all have issues, and we all gotta work our s— out,” he said. “And I feel like one of the qualities of a great leader is not shutting people out. I miss that part. Even if we disagree, we’ve got to figure it out.”
  24. Kids these days are like detonators, one wrong move can trigger a massive explosion with consequences that even adults can’t deal with. Further, the heights to which their imagination can sore, is unimaginable. Their quirky thoughts often leave us speechless and amazed at their creativity and this 5th grade student seems to be the torch-bearer of all those whiz kids. Meet this ‘future science leader’ who made a ground-breaking discovery about our beloved actor Dwayne Johnson. He found his brother. © Twitter Remember, the 7-year-old girl who wrote to Sundar Pichai asking for a job? Yes, they are that concerned about their future, while we were still wishing for ‘Butter Chicken’ at home. You can never win over kids and the ‘Fast and Furious’ actor too couldn’t stay away from this kid’s charm and ingenuity and took to Twitter to share the excitement for having found his ‘abiotic brother’. ?????? My abiotic brother. (great job to the very cool 5th grader who did this) #Rock https://t.co/OHEZXlxBgY — Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) April 21, 2017 Being a true sport, Dwayne further posted this tweet boasting about the ‘future science leader’ and how he was nowhere close to this smart kid. Honestly, in front of today’s generation, we will always remain dim-witted. Very cool and creative 5th grader who will become a future science leader. Unlike myself in 5th grade who got suspended for using ??in class https://t.co/IjHokYjyxJ — Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) April 22, 2017 In our school days, most of us spent our time pulling pranks on teachers, bunking classes to watch movies, and sleeping in the library for hours in the name of studying. But, this generation is instead tapping their energy to deal with pressing global issues and drawing bizarre conclusions. We all cracked jokes about ‘The Rock’ and ‘A Rock’ but never of jotting down so many similarities. Well, now we can’t wait to see the ‘Fast & Furious’ actor make his way to the school textbooks. Apparently, this project wasn’t meant to be graded, but given the power we would have given him A+, a star, smiley and a Nobel prize for creativity.
  25. It was the fourth day of the second match between India and Australia when an incident in Bengaluru brought out the demons of long-standing rivalry between the world's top two Test sides. Despite a gruelling encounter, it was eventually the Decision Review System (DRS) controversy that stole the limelight following the explosive post-match press conferences of the two captains Virat Kohli and Steven Smith. The following days witnessed players from both the sides taking pot-shots at each other, bringing the integrity of the gentleman's game into question. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Cricket Australia (CA) have called a truce over the sensational row, the latest remarks of a former Australian cricketer seem to fuel the fire furthermore. Twitter Mitchell Johnson has taken a dig at the Indian captain after the hosts made a brilliant comeback to level the series 1-1. Reflecting on the incidents in Bengaluru, Johnson said that Kohli was up to "his old tricks as usual in Bengaluru". "He's obviously quite passionate, but I just think he's frustrated because he hasn't scored a run and he's letting his emotions get the better of him. You could sense the vibe change halfway through the match and it coincided with India getting ahead in the game," Johnson has written in a blog for Fox Sports. "Obviously whenever there's a wicket the cameras go straight to Kohli to see his reaction - they know they're going to get those kind of reactions from him. And they did! He was giving a send-off to just about every player, which you've got to be very careful with. It can happen sometimes, when you're pumped up and you get a bit too fired up," he said. BCCL The incident also reminded Johnson of his fiery duel with Kohli during India's tour of Australia from December 2014 to January 2015. The Indian team fought hard on that tour but eventually ended up losing the four-match Test series 0-2. "I felt completely at home watching the action as Australia and India went toe-to-toe in the second Test because of one man: Virat Kohli. Virat was in the thick of everything. He was pumping up the crowd, giving every Australian player a send-off and generally being fired up. It reminded me very much of my playing days because, well, I had a few run-ins with Virat," wrote Johnson, who retired from international cricket in November 2015. "To be honest, I think it was every time we played. He hasn't had any time for me since the Boxing Day Test in 2014, when he finished the day saying he had no respect for me. The moment that changed everything was when he blocked a ball back to me and I threw it back at the stumps, seeing Virat was out of his crease and thinking I was a chance of a run out. Twitter The only problem was that Virat was in the way. He got hit in the back and I apologised straight away because it was a complete accident, but that message didn't seem to get through. There were plenty of verbals after that and he hasn't really stopped since," he added. Kohli had smashed a gritty 169 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground before losing his wicket to Johnson who got him caught behind by wicket-keeper Brad Haddin. "He scored a very impressive century that day, and I took his wicket with the final ball of the day. After play, he said this of me: 'I respect quite a few of them. But someone who does not respect me, I've got no reason to respect him.' Luckily, that doesn't bother me because opinions like that don't mean anything - it's fair to say we've had our battles," Johnson concluded.
