  1. For the last one week or so, we have just been hearing about all the outrageous yet adorable things that Justin Trudeau has been up to while in India. He's having the time of his life here and we're all honestly living vicariously through him. While all of the things he's doing is kind of part of the big Indian dream, I couldn't help but think if there is an ulterior motive behind his antics. So please, bear with me and my conspiracy theory, because what is life without a little overthinking. I am personally loving all of his sherwanis and his bhangra, even though some Canadians think he's embarrassing them – and himself, but what I would like to discuss is that all of the things he has done while in India is just an audition for Bollywood on a grand scale. Let's begin the theory and examine all the evidence we have, shall we? Reuters First of all, he's already famous, obviously, he's the freaking Prime Minister of Canada. So, everyone already knows him, but that doesn't get you that lead role in a movie, does it? So, that is why he's hellbent on proving his talent and the fact that he does look like a future superstar. Let's start with his clothes. Almost every tourist in India would dress the part and enjoy their time here in some desi attire. While a lot of them would just opt for simple kurtas and all, Justin went to the next level, of course, and tried to fit in as many sherwanis as he could in this trip. Reuters While dressed like a proper dulha who looks like he's early for his own wedding (because just look at his face, that's the face of sincerity), he hung out with all the big names in Bollywood. Here, he is with King Khan himself. Tonight, we celebrated stronger ties & new co-production opportunities between Bollywood and the Canadian Film Industry. And who better to help than @iamsrk himself... Great to meet you! ð®ð³ð¨ð¦ pic.twitter.com/1OcwsA9lMS — Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) February 20, 2018 And then, he also met Farhan Akhtar. Was an honour and a pleasure to meet the Hon. Prime Minister of Canada, @justinpjtrudeau & his lovely wife, Sophie. His leadership in the discourse for ending gender discrimination serves as constant inspiration to us all. Thank you to the Respected High Commissioner for Canada to India, for the invite. A post shared by Farhan Akhtar (@faroutakhtar) on Feb 20, 2018 at 10:14am PST And R Madhavan. @JustinTrudeau such a pleasure and honour meeting you sir. Your relatability, grace and charm was most endearing and its easy to see why you are the Pride and toast of Canada.Have a lovely rest of the tour.ðð pic.twitter.com/yNpZV6l4Vo — Ranganathan Madhavan (@ActorMadhavan) February 21, 2018 And, Anupam Kher as well. It was such a pleasure to meet the Canadian Prime Minister @justinpjtrudeau and his family. What a charming and great conversationalist he is. Talked about people, culture and of course cinema.:) #Canada #India #lndianCinema #BendItLikeBeckham #SilverLiningsPlaybook A post shared by Anupam Kher (@anupampkher) on Feb 20, 2018 at 8:38am PST Chilling with so many Bollywood A-listers, it's almost as if he's making personal connections with them that would come in handy in the future. So smart, Justin, I'm impressed. Then, let's take a look at the next piece of evidence. When he visited Taj Mahal, we were blessed with this picture. Twitter 10 points to whoever guesses who he's posing as! Well, it's almost the same, isn't it? Extra points for the effort to Justin! He's basically telling the world that he has what it takes to replace Shah Rukh Khan, so he better watch out. He's coming for you, SRK. After showing his star potential with just one pose, he also showed off his incredible dance moves, because what kind of Bollywood actor can't dance, right? Making a grand entrance fit for a star, he decided to flaunt his Bhangra moves while at an event at Canada house in Delhi. Canadian PM @JustinTrudeau makes an entrance at the Canada house in New Delhi. Truly in the spirit of India. @DemocracyNewsL pic.twitter.com/ph19O7ysB4 — Rohit Gandhi (@rohitgandhi_) February 22, 2018 He's just gearing up for that pending Bollywood debut and we're so here for it. With a little more practice, his dance skills could put any current actor to shame. Now that we've talked about the technicalities of becoming a Bollywood actor, let's focus on the social aspect. An actor obviously needs to have fans and for that you need a lot of goodwill in the society. And since Justin is already a great guy, he just needed to be himself to impress everyone. We've all seen pictures of him and his family at the Golden Temple but there also he took it up a notch by showing everyone how humble he is. One of the highlights of his visit was his entire family doing 'seva' at the Golden Temple and he even left a heartfelt note in the visitor book. Instagram He's so down to earth and humble, it's so refreshing. He would be a fan favourite if (read: when) he becomes an actor. Why? Because the fame will never go to his head. He's just like all of us, living his life, doing his best. And now, we've arrived at the last bit – Justin Trudeau and his family meeting our PM Modi. If you're in the country's Prime Minister's good books, everything else should obviously be easy. Reuters See, he's already become such good pals with PM Modi, that whenever he tries to make that transition from the Prime Minister of Canada to a Bollywood superstar, it should be an easy ride for him. As for now, I'm just waiting for his debut, because if my calculations are right, it should come soon enough. These upcoming star kids have some competition. Wait, will Justin be that blessing for our country who will rid us of nepotism? Let's wait and watch.
  2. If there's anything Kartik Aaryan gets right all the damn time, it's his knack for terrific footwear. Talk of white sneakers, high-tops, slip-ons, dress shoes or loafers/moccasins — he's worn them all. Plus, he keeps his shoes close, and their appeal to the masses closer. Come a latest sneaker drop and you may not find the actor wearing it, but that's what makes him special. He sticks to his gut, is least bothered about MRPs and styles each pair supremely well. All while coming across as a menswear god. To begin with, here's his shoe game in a few high-res images: © viral bhayani © viral bhayani © viral bhayani © viral bhayani © viral bhayani To sum it up, he's the man to follow for easy, affordable celeb-fashion cops. Plus, he's always had a signature look: supremely manly, occasion-appropriate, but reeking of the ideology of standing out from the crowd. He's aced what most famous men couldn't, you see. So, to carry his streak of impeccable footwear forward, Aaryan turned to another stellar pair for the screening of 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety': © viral bhayani Here's what we think: while his textured moccasins aren't bringing along a lot of polish to the outfit, that's what's making them very important. Primarily, because, that's not the vibe Aaryan was going for here. While on another day for a movie screening, the actor could have gone a little too formal, Kartik's turned to chilled-out wear for the event. To keep the chills at bay, he's opted for a knit instead of a white T-shirt below his checked bomber (quite a style hack) and decided to wear a suggested-against hue for the evening: white. Having said that, that's exactly what we mean; his moccasins are exactly what this outfit needed. © viral bhayani But that's not what's making them the ultimate loafers. Replace Kartik's white trousers with black formal ones, the knit with a shirt and the bomber with a formal blazer and you'd realise: how the loafers will yet shine very bright. And with no external help, will drive your ensemble to occasion-specific dressing brilliance. Isn't that groundbreaking?
  3. Arguably one of the most popular and exciting sport across the globe, football is not just a game, but a way of bringing people together irrespective of their race, culture, and country. It is a symbol that allows everyone including the fans and players to compete and share the exploits together. While it enables the fans to share their passion with others, football as a sport has often transformed the lives of people. Providing a sense of real purpose, football changed the lives of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Diego Maradona and Pele amongst others. Apart from being the legends of the game, these footballers have another thing in common - their rough childhood. A life spent growing up in the streets, without food, money or luxuries, working for their livelihood from a tender age, knowing it's a tough place out there, with the only thing that gave them comfort and solace being football. It was probably their tough upbringing that made them fight hard for success. © Reuters A similar story has come to the fore in India where a young boy, just like the legends, has taken huge strides to realise his dream of playing football. R Manikandan is a name that doesn't ring a bell, but once you get to know his story, he will be hard to forget. The 14-year-old has become the talk of the town after securing a month-long training with none other than Real Madrid - one of the world's most prestigious and iconic football clubs. The 14-year-old will be seen sweating it out with the prominent stars of the Spanish club during his one-month stay. © Hindustan Times While training with Los Blancos is undoubtedly a life-changing opportunity, it's Manikandan's journey to this very point that has struck a chord with the Indian football fans. Just like the football greats, life was not handed to him on a silver platter, he had to work hard to reach this level. The talented youngster, who's all set to travel to Spain, was sadly begging for alms with his sister on the streets of Kerala in 2011. It was a dark phase where, rather than fretting over his ball control, Manikandan's greatest struggle was to put food in his belly and find shelter for the night. © Photo For Representation, Reuters Hailing from Tamil Nadu, wearing only rags, Manikandan and his sister were wandering with an aged woman carrying begging bowls. When questioned by the officials of the Childline - a helpline for children - and the police officials, the woman disappeared leaving behind the two kids. But, life took an unimaginable turn for the young boy after R Sreekumar, supervisor of a children's home, rescued him from the streets. While Manikandan finally had some respite, the dilapidated orphanage soon ran out of space. In order to accommodate the kids, Sreekumar started taking the inmates to the nearby Fathima Mata College grounds in Kollam, a move that eventually changed the life of Manikandan. Initially, nobody cared about the bunch that was only restricted to collecting oddballs that went across the field. However, coach MP Abhilash, who used to train senior players at the same ground discovered Manikandan's potential and presented him an opportunity to play with the seniors. And, the rest is history. © Photo For Representation, Thinkstock/Getty Images Ever since his accidental discovery, there has been no looking back for this dextrous footballer. The six-foot lanky teenager is not much of a speaker, but his game now speaks volumes for him. An under-15 player of the I-League, Manikandan now represents the district and Football Plus Professional Soccer Academy in Chennai. It was his ever-growing talent while playing in Chennai that earned him praise from some foreign coaches. Such was the impact of his game that the foreign coaches told the academy about Manikandan's hidden talent and recommended his name for the special training. “I spotted him in last February. In just one year, he has improved brilliantly and I feel if he's groomed well he will be an asset to the country,” said coach MP Abhilash, who will be accompanying Manikandan to Madrid. “His technique and agility are superb and his height adds to his prowess,” he told HT. © Photo For Representation, Thinkstock/Getty Images “Football is a passion for me. I owe everything to my coach and supervisor of the children's home. They encouraged me well and stood by my side,” Manikandan, an ardent Lionel Messi fan, said. While Manikandan is still far from achieving the success of Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic, his humble beginnings on the back of hardwork and perseverance have already placed him in the category of the football legends, who fought against all odds to realise their dream. For these individuals including Manikandan, life is like a game of football where you need goals. If there are no goals in your life, then you can't win.
  4. Cricket is a sport that thrives on the contest between the bat and the ball. Apart from the occasional byes and leg-byes, the contact with the body parts is neither ideal nor intentional. When you compare it with football, where legs and head usually do the job, cricket is all about making contact with the willow. And, given the restrictions in gentleman's game, it's quite bizarre if anyone scores runs with their head, right? Wrong. In a crazy turn of events, a batsman ended up scoring a six after the noticeable help of an opposition bowler. During the Ford Trophy - a domestic 50-over competition in New Zealand, a batsman smashed a six after the ball ricocheted off the head of the bowler and sailed over the ropes. Ol' Jeets used Andy's head as a ramp today. Don't worry, nobody died. #FordTrophy https://t.co/g2EsYaYifJ — The Niche Cache (@thenichecache) February 21, 2018 The incident occurred in the third preliminary final of the tournament between Auckland and Canterbury when Jeet Raval struck a delivery straight back at the bowler Andrew Ellis. Such was the power of the shot that even before Ellis could get out of the way, the ball hit his head and then soared over the boundary for a six. Despite the massive impact of the ball on his head, Ellis seemed okay as players from both sides checked up on his well being. He was taken off the field for a concussion test and was declared fit enough to resume the match. He went on to bowl seven overs for figures of 2-52. Canterbury Captain Andrew Ellis was Struck on Head by a straight Shot from Jeet Raval who scored 149 The ball hit him so hard on head that it struck on his head and then sailed for a six, he left the field for concussion test but was able to return for the Match #FordTrophy pic.twitter.com/rS0hDnzlU5 — Abhijeet (@TheYorkerBall) February 21, 2018 Raval, who has represented New Zealand in nine Tests, said he was concerned about the Ellis' well-being and was relieved when he returned to the field. "Whenever anybody gets hit in the head, your immediate concern is for the person, and I was worried Andrew had hurt himself," Raval was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. "But, thankfully, it soon looked like he hadn't been injured by what had seemed a nasty blow. He's a true Cantab, a very tough nut, and it was a relief for me to see him carry on and complete the game without any visible effects. My hope for him is that he won't experience any delayed concussion. It's certainly not pleasant for anyone to experience that in a game," he added. Despite being shaken by the incident, Raval didn't let it affect his batting as he went on to score a match-winning 149 off 153 balls with 10 fours and four sixes, powering Auckland to 304/6 in 50 overs. In reply, Canterbury were bowled out for 197 in 37.2 overs with spinner Tarun Nethula recording figures of 4-43.
  5. Listen up, all you Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and 'Virushka' fans out there; it's time to put a big 'pathar' on your heart and listen to what we have to say. The throne of being 'the life of a party', which once belonged to this power-couple has now been stolen by none other than Anil Kapoor. My one and only! ♥ï¸ð♥ï¸ A post shared by Virat Kohli (@virat.kohli) on Feb 20, 2018 at 12:14am PST Be it Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge's wedding, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech's wedding; Virat and Anushka came to be known as the ultimate party animals, who can turn any party into a happening one with their crazy dance moves. Their own wedding wasn't any different, where the couple set the dance floor on fire with their sass and desi swag. But folks, it's time to leave the past in the past and welcome the new king of Dance, *drumroll* Anil Kapoor. Instagram At 61, Anil Kapoor is shaking a leg better than any excited 20-year-old. Probably, that answers all our questions as to why women still go crazy and fall for his charm. And people got a glimpse of his infectious charm yet again at his nephew Mohit Marwah's big fat Indian wedding. Yes, the same wedding where the whole Kapoor clan in partying like there's no tomorrow. And this video is proof. This man gives too many goals at one time! @anilskapoor @glamouralertofficial ðð * * * #AnilKapoor #Bollywood #BTown #AntuMoh #Wedding #IndianWedding #Marriage #Dance #Fashion #GlamourAlert A post shared by Glamour Alert (@glamouralertofficial) on Feb 20, 2018 at 5:16am PST After this video, we are sure that Anil Kapoor is secretly sipping from a fountain of youth. Otherwise, how else do you explain him being so full of life and charming like he was when he joined Bollywood.
  6. Ideologically, sunglasses need to solve just one purpose: of keeping the stark rays of the sun at bay. Unless of course, you're designer Kunal Rawal, who wears sunnies to bring a herd of eyeballs towards him (without even looking like a try-hard) and brings us to notice. That's exactly what the design maverick did recently. At Mohit Marwah and Antara Motiwala's wedding at the Al Ras Khaimah in Dubai, Rawal chose to sport a pair that brought the full-Bollywood wedding to a halt. Almost every single attendee of this highly-reported (+ expensive) celebration featured Rawal on their Instagram stories, meaning: the sunnies clearly had a moment at the prolific festivity. Featuring the biggest A-listers of the movie business, here are some images from the wedding to begin with: © Times of India © Times of India © Times of India © Times of India © Times of India © Instagram And coming to the style-god move of the wedding, here's Kunal Rawal's modern-age (and futuristic) take on the concept of sunglasses: © Instagram/Arjun Kapoor © Instagram/Kunal Rawal For men who're struggling to ID the sunglasses, let's inform you: they happen to be a one-off runway pair from Gentle Monster x Hood By Air. A collaboration, that first featured during Spring/Summer'16 and glorified an avant-garde spin to every man's must-have, the sunglasses. Coming to the retail price of the pair, however, it's priced at $403 on eBay.com, approximately 26,000 in Indian rupees. © eBay As a matter of fact, the pair has been constructed with the use of stainless steel and acetate components, and quite evidently, a complete derivation of two concentric circles. Having said that, the style of the sunglasses hardly mattered to Kunal, when he got down to selecting his outfit for the celebration. © Instagram/Arjun Kapoor And as seen here, throughout his outfit changes in Dubai, Kunal decided to keep his sunnies intact (of course it was sunny). For occasion #1, he opted for a single-toned ensemble, and for #2, turned to blocking two safe (but wedding-approved) colours together, while seamlessly bringing athletic trims onto his kurta (a Rawal signature). Let's not forget his mop, that added a lot of polish and refinement to both the outfits. Attaboy!
  7. It's all over the news, and you'd have to be living under a rock to be unaware of how momentous SpaceX's recent Falcon Heavy flight was. We've always assumed space (still the final frontier) to be the sole preserve of super-high-tech government institutions. For many of us, NASA (which has probably starred in as many blockbuster movies as it's had successful launches) remains the automatic answer to the question “What's the big news from the world of space exploration”, the Soviet Union had its own massive space program (now inherited by Russia), and closer home, there's ISRO which has managed significant feats on a shoestring budget - the Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan programmes were absolutely remarkable. But as the SpaceX launch showed (it was even live streamed online!), the private sector's not really sitting this one out. Loads of ventures from across the world are plunging into this business. Why? First, governments the world over are always short of cash, and second, startups that are defined by out-of-the-box thinking just seem perfect for something that's as 'it's true but it still seems like magic' as space exploration. © tesla Of course, it's not all good news - it's been a long, hard journey for SpaceX, its competitors - Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites' have even suffered a fatality (a test pilot was killed in 2014), while the Google Lunar XPRIZE, a competition for small teams to see who could successfully carry out a 'moonshot' has been cancelled. (You'll be pleased to know Indian X Prize hopeful Team Indus says it won't be abandoning its plans and will look elsewhere for the moolah). SpaceX Leads The Race If there's a poster child for the private space race, it's SpaceX. The brainchild of Elon 'are you sure he's human?' Musk, SpaceX aims at colonising Mars to prepare for a future where humans may have to look beyond the earth. In just over a decade and a half, SpaceX has come a long way, with its Falcon Heavy demonstration showing it was close to perfecting reusable launch vehicles - which could revolutionise space exploration thanks to lower costs. But SpaceX has a lot more going on than just shooting Tesla Roadsters into space - it's partnered with NASA to build a cargo delivery ship for the International Space Station, is working on a manned space module, and will also be launching top-secret payloads for the US government and military. Don't forget Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin © thedrive But SpaceX is not the only game in town. Okay, it's been grabbing more eyeballs than anyone else, but don't discount Blue Origin, which is the baby of yet another tech titan - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Blue Origin has been hard at work developing the New Shepard, a manned space module, and, in fact, beat SpaceX in the race to demonstrate a reusable launch vehicle. Currently, Blue Origin is working on a bigger rocket, New Glenn, which will reach low earth and geostationary orbits and have a reusable first stage. Fancy A Space Holiday? Virgin Galactic Could Make It Happen Part of the Virgin Group (headed by another eccentric genius, Sir Richard Branson - do you spot some sort of pattern here?), Virgin Galactic works in partnership with another private space company - Scaled Composites - and has built suborbital spacecraft (SpaceShipOne and SpaceShipTwo). While a large part of Virgin Galactic's efforts has to do with space tourism, they're not ignoring commercial satellite launches and the potential of using suborbital craft for insanely quick flights across the planet. Unified Launch Alliance - The Aerospace Industry Hits Back © newssweek Consider the Unified Launch Alliance as the Goliath of the space world. These chaps aren't mad-scientist geniuses or startup titans with an insane vision. No, these are the people who've already been to the stars and have been a part of the US space programme since its inception. Who are we talking about? Well, the ULA is a collaboration between Lockheed Martin and Boeing. Can't get any bigger than that, can it? As of now, the ULA is participating in NASA's Space Launch System programme and is working on developing the United States' Atlas and Delta series launchers for future use. What Else Is Happening? Plenty, for starters. There's Rocket Lab, which is focusing on launching small, low-cost satellites and Axiom Space, which was founded by a team of space veterans and is trying to build a new space station to replace the ISS (scheduled to be decommissioned on 2024. Meanwhile, NASA has also partnered with Lockheed Martin and Airbus to work on Orion spacecraft to deliver supplies to the ISS, while Orbital ATK builds and launches the Cygnus, an unmanned, automated supply ship for the ISS. All pretty cool, isn't it? We might be a million light years away from the kind of future you'll see in the movies, but come on, you have got to admit that with some of today's brightest, coolest companies working hard to make space exploration even more accessible, we're guaranteed headlines that make us marvel at human ingenuity!
  8. Virat and Anushka, or 'Virushka' as we lovingly call them, are goals of all kinds. Basically how to stick by each other in the millennial world, how to break up and patch up for life with the glue of love and then fly away to a gorgeous land and get married while no is watching. That's perfection right there. #nikhilthampi #anushkasharma A post shared by Nikhil Thampi (@nikhilthampi) on Nov 11, 2017 at 6:38am PST #Virushka #Viratkohli #VirushkaWEDDING #Anushkasharma A post shared by virushka loversð (@virushka_lovers) on Dec 11, 2017 at 10:09am PST Also, it's not a surprise that both of them broke a million hearts and left many with a bittersweet feeling after they tied the knot last December. The couple never misses a single chance of showing how much love they share and recently, post a match, Virat very sweetly credited his 'wife' for his performance. “People who contribute off the field they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She's been criticised a lot in the past. But she's one person who's kept me going throughout the tour." 9. Much like every dressing rule in the world, socks too, come with a few dos and don'ts. For one, you've got to pull them up every single time (never have a crease). Two, ensure they don't flaunt your skin unintentionally (unless that's the look you're going for). And three, know what pair to wear when. If you're wearing a two-piece or a three-piece suit, you better be forced to succumb to mid-calf socks, or loafer-lining lengths if you're going in for moccasins/formal loafers. Just a few generic rules to abide by, that's all. 1. Knee-Length Socks © Amazon India Since the length is quite long anyway, this is the perfect pair for formal dressing —your suits will love them. The #1 reason being, if you're fearful of exposing your calves while being seated (considering your trousers are going to ride up), this sock length will always have your back. Bravo. 2. Mid-Calf Length Socks © Amazon India Only slightly shorter than knee-length socks, mid-calf pairs are great bets too. Plus, this is the sock-length that is owned by most men in the world. Only difference? Since they're a tad bit inferior in length, keep the crop of your trousers in check. You don't want to end up with a skin peek-a-boo, without a valid reason. 3. Loafer-Lining/Invisible/Low-Cut Sports Socks © Hanes Thanks to their permanent hibernation skills, you'll never find this pair flashing itself in public. Because really, that's what's it meant for: a neat tuck into your innumerable footwear styles, when you're avoiding the visibility of socks. Plus, most low-cut socks are made of a wool/nylon blend, making them absorb perspiration at a faster rate. Even though, besides these lengths, there are a lot more hybrids available in the market (to satisfy every man's comfort), the baseline remains: know what length to wear, when. Take for example, John Abraham. While #3 was the ideal sock-length for John Abraham's recent out-and-about in Mumbai, he chose to head into a completely wrong direction: © Viral Bhayani Beg to differ: this one was an easy call for the multi-gunned actor. Since he was going for a very athletic vibe here, agreed, he's chosen the right sock style: low-cut sports socks. But while we're applauding this move of the actor, let's admit that the length of it is quite odd. An invisible length could have served him better here, considering his joggers were cropped too. Also joggers, that are cuffing at a point of awkward skin show. © Viral Bhayani Was he at comfort and ease? Yes. Was his outfit meant for a brunch? Maybe not (but come on, he could have stepped into the cafe post a workout). But nevertheless, should we forgive him for this sock-faux pas? Absolutely not.
  10. As a fact, anything baggy/lousy/wide has been long regarded as sartorially wrong (especially, if you take the psyche of the masses into account). Unfortunately, while relaxed, eased-out clothing is a big global trend, for 90% of the male Indian population, life is full of discussions around the right fit, formally known as a 'slim-fit'. Agreed, on most days, that's great; but over-sized gear is visually very appealing too. It's a welcome change, if we may. But of course, not something meant for every body type, so, proceed with caution. But, while we may continue having this conversation around fits, let's admit: there's a fine line between ill-fits and relaxed apparel. The former is wrong and the latter, somewhat right. But sometimes, you just can't decide. Take for example, cargo pants, which we just don't seem to understand: © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Over time, we've come to the conclusion, that cargo pants are just not our thing. Plus, they neither have to be baggy, or well-fitted. And since we're not the biggest fans of them anyway, we couldn't really care. Coming to the discussion of the day, however, here's a news flash: Tiger Shroff just wore the biggest and widest cargo pants ever worn by an Indian celebrity (even bigger than Shah Rukh Khan). See for yourself: © Viral Bhayani Honestly, we're 100% down for the palette here: it's quite earthy and supremely light on the eyes. Maybe now sweat patch-proof, but the T-shirt's quite a breeze to sport. Though, coming to the cargo pants, we're a little confused. Are they, in any way, a cape to hide his footwear with? While his black sneakers aren't anything to flaunt anyway (they're really safe), it doesn't mean they lose visibility in the frame. In textbook terms, "your trousers should end at/right above the ankle", which obviously isn't the case here. Plus, you can spot a pesky thread hanging, in line with the cargo's frayed-edged aesthetic. © Viral Bhayani Are we down for this outfit, or are we not? To be frank, we're actually not quite sure.
  11. Benjamin Netanyahu holding what he said was a piece of the Iranian drone shot down by Israel. Photo: MSC MUNICH: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel would act against Iran, not just its allies in the Middle East, if needed, reiterating that Tehran was the world?s greatest threat. Holding a piece of what he said was an Iranian drone after its incursion into Israeli airspace earlier this month, Netanyahu told the Munich Security Conference: ?Israel will not allow the regime to put a noose of terror around our neck. We will act if necessary not just against Iran?s proxies but against Iran itself?. Addressing the Munich event for the first time, Netanyahu urged gathered US and European officials and diplomats to counter Iran immediately, displaying a map showing what he said was Iran?s growing presence in the Middle East. He said Iran was increasing its power as the US-led coalition against Daesh in Iraq and Syria regains territory from militants. ?The unfortunate thing is that as ISIS compresses and Iran moves in, it is trying to establish this continuous empire surrounding the Middle East from the south in Yemen but also trying to create a land bridge from Iran to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza,? Netanyahu said. ?This is a very dangerous development for our region.? Tensions surged on February 10 when anti-aircraft fire downed an Israeli warplane returning from a bombing raid on Iran-backed positions in Syria. That was the most serious confrontation yet between Israel and Iranian-backed forces based across the border.
  12. Roger Federer is a great player & no one can ever deny that. The Swiss champion has cemented his legacy as the greatest tennis player of all time by reclaiming his number one title after six whole years. And, that's not it! With this, he also became the oldest player to reach world number one at age 36. See, he's so incredible, he's making me stick to the clichés and making me claim that age is just a number. But, in his case it truly is, and no one can deny it. He topped the ranking for the fourth time, and it's still as exciting as the first time. 2004, 2009, 2012 and now 2018.@rogerfederer tops the world rankings for the fourth time in his career, and becomes the oldest singles No.1 ever ð #Wimbledon pic.twitter.com/HawyVGHIoA — Wimbledon (@Wimbledon) February 16, 2018 He even acknowledged his 'old age' with one of the most hilarious tweets I've seen in a long time. 13. Elon Musk is yet not the richest man on the planet still everybody's always talking about his remarkable achievements and his crazy ambitions. Do you ask why? Maybe because he is not into entrepreneurship just for the sake of making loads of money. Maybe he is afraid of the mundane and for that, he has seen it all. Saving Tesla from going bankrupt he almost went broke and lived on friends aid, have gone through failed relationships and what not. © Reuters He says, “My proceeds from the PayPal acquisition were $180 million. I put $100 million in SpaceX, $70m in Tesla, and $10m in Solar City. I had to borrow money for rent.” What makes him achieve things which we only can dream of? Whether it is about building better transport system like Hyperloop, eco-friendly electric cars or showing that a private space company can exist and flourish even if a decade ago no one believed so. His achievements are truly entrepreneurial in nature. Everybody talked about electric cars but he did it, every investor was against the idea of investing in a space travel company yet he made it possible, everyone dreamt of faster travel but only he is making tunnel transportation possible. It seems like if he thinks something is worth doing then he makes it work however big the odds may be. Elon Musk with his then-wife, British actress Talulah Riley © Reuters According to a Tesla report, Elon Musk earned $49,920 (Rs 32.13 lakh) last year. That's exactly the equivalent of an 80-hour work week at US' minimum wage ($10.50 an hour) whereas Infosys CEO Salil Parikh draws about Rs 18.6 crore annually. That's a huge margin for sure which clearly shows that he is not into entrepreneurship just for making money but he has some major goals to achieve. What can entrepreneurs learn from this? Though he has a pretty good stake in SpaceX and Tesla they are yet not highly profitable companies yet. The lesson for entrepreneurs is that do not jump into entrepreneurship if your drive is only money. He sums it up like this: "I think it's very difficult to start companies, it's quite painful. A friend of mine has a good phrase for doing a startup: it's like eating glass and staring into the abyss. If you are wired to do it, then only do it, not otherwise. So think of it this way - if you need inspiring words, DON'T DO IT!", said Elon in a conversation with Draper University students.
  14. Let's begin with an extremely important question: How many times have you decided to work out from the beginning of a particular month? Every January, as a New Year resolution, maybe? For most of us, that 'beginning of the month' never comes and we are stuck in a vicious cycle. But what if we tell you that working out and losing those extra pounds MIGHT just land you a modelling contract? Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, at least that's what happened with Gwilym C Pugh. Coat season has well and truly kicked in! A classic Pea Coat is always a good staple to have on hand! At least in terms of his lifestyle, that included massive amounts of junk food. Back in 2006 when Gwilym was just 21 years old, he set up his own business. Obviously, it wasn't an easy task and required him working his ass off for 12 hours a day while sitting on a desk, err, his bedroom. He played basketball for Wales at the under-16 level following which he injured his knee. That resulted in him working from home and operating his life insurance company from his room and of course, putting on weight. © Wales Online Although his business was doing okay, soon, he decided that he needs to get back to a healthy lifestyle. He cut off takeaways and cleaned up his diet and eventually, started a folk-country band with one of his friends. Now you know where that 'singer' beard came from. © Facebook But that wasn't what made him gain a modelling contract immediately; it was actually Instagram that helped him. He joined Instagram as a way to build his and the band's profile. By then he left his desk job, started hitting the gym and lost a massive amount of weight over a period of 4-5 years. So here's my shot for the new @RedHot100 #RedHot2 project. Some of you may or may not know that this was waaaaaay out of my comfort zone to shoot. Around 5/6 years ago I was very very overweight at around 280lbs (130kg) with ginger hair, pale skin and to put it lightly not a particularly happy chap, so this is something I genuinely never thought I'd see. 15. We are not getting the final season of our beloved 'Game Of Thrones' but that doesn't mean that spoilers and theories will not fall on our heads like painful rain drops . So, before we begin, let me clarify that it could or could not be a spoiler, as these are some theories spilled over Reddit and sound completely legit if you do some math. So, are you ready to decrypt Jon Snow's fate, the survival chances of Khaleesi and his romance and above all, the Night King's plans? Read on then! Spoiler Alert So apparently, The Night King will use his power to burn down Winterfell, a rumour that has already been confirmed. He will be defeated there when Jamie and Jon join forces and that will lead the Night King to take his evil plans and divert them towards the south where he will unleash hell on Cersei's land. If you recall, Bran had a vision where he saw the throne room in the Red Keep covered in snow. © HBO Amidst this chaos, Dany finds out that she is pregnant and it is believed that she will die in child birth or maybe after that. So, while all this is revealed, Sam and Bran might hide the truth about Dany's true relationship with Jon. Hint: She's his aunt! © HBO Jamie will kill the white walker version of Cersei and thus fulfil the prophecy. The Hound and Tyrion will retire and lead a good life while they return to Casterly Rock and the Lannister source of income changes from gold to wine. We all knew that Tyrion would have a happy ending and his wine drinking will join his course of life one day. © HBO Also, the dragons will die according to the theory and it will be revealed that they laid eggs so that they can continue being playmates to Khaleesi's child. If these theories have any truth in them, god save us all!
  16. Gurmeet Choudhary is the embodiment of #ChillGuyGoals. On most days, you'd spot him in T-shirts+jeans, shirts over tees and if it gets chilly, he'd turn to a leather biker jacket. He's like most of us humans, only with a (much) higher bank balance. But there you have it, while he's got the bucks to spend like a wreck, he's always opted for regular-guy gear. © Viral Bhayani Having said that, he has his days; where he flaunts his big, fat wallet on his sleeve. By wearing expensive labels in the most ordinary ways, and styled just like how your neighbourhood homie would (when he's grabbing a few beers down a block). Like for example, recently for a quick paparazzi-moment, we snapped him in a pair of expensive leather brogue boots © Viral Bhayani To be frank, he almost had us at safe-but-dope sartorial pairing, to begin with. While going all over black, the actor's gone for a keen eye on the fit of his pieces. The T-shirt's shoulder seam is perfectly in-sync with his shoulder line, meaning: that's a great fit there, man. Plus, though they're following the same damn palette, his bottoms too, are fitted to the gods. Exemplifying Gurmeet's expertise in 'how to wear' and the best-fitted apparel. Go further down, and you'd now agree, that his leather boots are the focal point of this outfit; formally known as the 'Queercore Embroidered Brogue Boots' from Gucci. Embroidered with gold bees and stars, the pair features an out-of-the-blue studded tiger-head buckle across the front. And while epitomizing the punk culture of the 80s, the boots can also be called as insanity, done absolutely right. © Gucci Now coming to the core of the story, the pair's MRP, that'd make you tag all your (horribly) rich friends here. Since these boots retail at a price of INR 1,27,120. God save our souls.
  17. Valentine's Day is a day of love, but it's also a day of single people being salty, and it turns out we're not the only ones putting people on blast on Twitter. Congress had a special message for our dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they did not hold back in spreading the 'love'. We're all guilty of sub-tweeting people on Twitter, but the Congress took it a step further and made a direct dig at PM Modi. Behaving like a proper salty ex, the loving Valentine's Day video is full of suggestions for PM Modi on what he should do, completely filled with clever references on him. I never thought I would relate to a political party, but life is full of surprises. Dear Mr. Modi: A very happy #ValentinesDay from us to you ð pic.twitter.com/WrYKnN7iBc — Congress (@INCIndia) February 14, 2018 Since Valentine's Day is all about love, the 'heartfelt' video, which is full of hearts, starts with Congress asking Modi to spread love, and not Jumlas. © Twitter/Congress Well, that was just the first dig, it keeps on getting funnier. The next line asks him to spend less time hugging people, and more time working, because we all know PM Modi is a hugger, and has pictures hugging everyone. © Twitter/Congress Then, the Congress wants PM Modi to 'break up with hatred' and to 'love all Indians equally'. Next we have some brilliant wordplay on our PM's show 'Mann ki Baat', saying that sometimes he should also listen to the 'Mann ki Baat' of the people. © Twitter/Congress Remember when all the poor people in the country were supposed to get â¹15-20 lakh in each of their bank accounts? Taking a dig at that, the Congress asked him to only 'make promises that he can keep', just 'like every relationship'. Ending it perfectly with the phrase 'Ab ki baar, dher saara pyaara'. After all, it's a Valentine's Day message. The best way to spread the love, right? © Twitter/Congress Even though there were so many references and clever digs, the best part of the whole video was still the background music. The best Valentine's Day message was appropriately set to the eternal love song 'Pehla Nasha' from 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', obviously. Remember last week when PM Modi had a typo in his tweet and someone probably lost their job because of that mistake? I am 70% sure that it's the same person and they joined Congress to take their revenge. Just kidding!! Now, we're just eagerly waiting for PM Modi and the BJP's retaliation.
  18. It is not every day you come across such stories of strong will and unbreakable commitment that people make to themselves. This guy did exactly what all millennials dream of. Actually, he took it to another level altogether. With the increasing inflation rate, buying a house for oneself is one of the biggest milestones we face today, and this Australian guy has been able to buy 12 properties at the age of 26! Eddie Dilleen owns $2 million worth of investment properties - and he did it without any additional support. He did it while working at a fast food restaurant and growing up in a hard-up household. Now, the question is what led him to become so determined and accomplish such big goals at such an early stage. Eddie's parents split up when he was a child and he grew up with his single mum in the Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt, thus relying solely on her single pension after. Growing up in such circumstances, Eddie made up his mind for success and started wiring his brain for the same. He became so obsessed with owning a home at a young age, as he promised himself to never be in the same situation when he became an adult. © Eddie Dilleen Eddie says, "I remember it was very hard. We didn't have any money at all growing up and I just remember it would always be a struggle every single day to put food on the table. I said to myself when I'm older, and I have a job or whatever, I don't ever want that to happen again." After leaving McDonald's, until recently he was working as an industrial tools salesman, saving his income by working two bartender jobs on the side while pushing his limits and working for almost 80 or 90-hours a week. Do you want to know his secret weapon? Well, he always kept an eye on the ordinary properties that could make him money. He tried to learn as much he could from potential investors about buying and selling homes and by buying books and reading up. Eddie says, "Obviously you've got to educate yourself - you can't do it without the knowledge. You'll get in trouble that way for sure." The good news for us is that he is already working on a book explaining his experiences and learning, allowing him to share the knowledge with everyone else. © Eddie Dilleen If we look at his stepping stone, then we see that he bought his first property on the Central Coast of New South Wales when he was just 19 years old. For that, he had saved $20,000 deposit about two years after he started working. Today he has several properties across South Australia, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and New South Wales. Eddie says, "I had a plan in place from day one. I only purchase the properties that put money into my pocket. I knew it was a mathematical equation. From all the property I was buying, it allowed me to quit my job. I only work when I want to now." That's his story. Are you ready to make yours? One advice Eddie has for millennials is that being positive and staying focused on saving enough money for a deposit remains the single major factor.
  19. Hrithik Roshan might have struggled with his 'public persona' for a little while post the Kangana debacle, but one thing that he definitely is not struggling with is his style quotient. In a brazen display of guts, his latest airport look consisted of the most unusual combination of prints we have seen this year. © Viral Bhayani Anyone who is interested in fashion knows that there are a few unwritten rules that one must follow. One of those rules is to never mix camouflage with floral prints. But, this is the thing about fashion: there are no rules. And even if there are, it's just a matter of guts and good taste to break those rules and create new ones for yourself. Hrithik Roshan just proved that by wearing a floral printed shirt with a hardcore camo ensemble. © Viral Bhayani Anyone with a straightforward sense of style would have just paired this cool camo ensemble with a black or white t-shirt. But Hrithik's sense of style is clearly not 'basic'. He went ahead and wore a statement white floral shirt with a bold blue print. The result? A dapper AF look. © Viral Bhayani We love the cut and fit of the outfit. Not everyone can pull off a silhouette that is so authentically, unabashedly 'military' in nature. Hrithik just needed a hat and some stars to look like he belongs in the army. © Viral Bhayani His attention to detail when it comes to making the whole look work is commendable. He is wearing the perfect leather boots and sporting a pair of perfect dark aviators. Plus, did you notice the half tuck of his shirt? Also, the sleeve folds over the jacket? These seemingly trivial details string the entire look together impeccably. © Viral Bhayani All we can say is that we can't wait to see more of such gutsy experiments. Well done, Hrithik!
  20. The Samsung Galaxy S9 could take yet another cue from Apple's iPhone X if rumours are to be trusted. While earlier rumours claimed that Samsung has been working on an enhanced iris scanner to take on the iPhone X's Face ID feature, a new report has said that the Galaxy S9 may also come with 3D emojis as reported by Korean news outlet, ETNews . The feature works by scanning your face and creating a 3D character that mimics your fine-tuned facial movements and expressions, says the report. You can also send these 3D emojis in place of normal ones in messages. The feature leverages the front camera's mapping technique to replicate your facial movements onto an animated emoji of your choice. © Apple Similar to the Animoji feature on the iPhone X, you'll be able to choose from a variety of characters, including animals, that can be sent with your message to others. Apple's Animojis were one of the most highly anticipated features of the iPhone X, and the S9's corresponding technology could mean that it's gearing up to be a serious competitor. We're not sure if that refers to hardware, software or the number of emojis you can animate, but we're looking forward to testing out the feature if it actually comes to the Galaxy S9. © VentureBeat Samsung debuting a feature like this makes sense, given that earlier this year the company also revealed its new Exynos chip, which they claim has “realistic face-tracking filters” and stronger security for unlocking devices through facial recognition. The Galaxy S9 could be getting top and bottom stereo speakers, which will be a change from the Galaxy S8, which had speakers under the screen. The new setup may mean that users will have to worry less about covering up a speaker while watching movies or playing games. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S9 at on Feb. 25. 21. This year's Android update is reportedly codenamed Pistachio Ice Cream internally, though Google may choose to go with another moniker when it launches. Making Android work with phones that look like the iPhone X is one way to woo iPhone users into switching to Android, according to a report by Bloomberg. Google is also said to be designing the updated operating system to better integrate camera notches, such as the ones found on the Essential Phone and iPhone X, as more and more hardware manufacturers embrace reduced-bezel designs. © Essential Phone PH-1 The feature allows those companies to offer bigger screens with slimmer bezels but still keep key features like the earpiece and front-facing camera in place. By developing an improved Android OS that will offer software features that utilize the notch instead of moving away from it. When the iPhone X was first unveiled, it was mocked for its front-facing camera cutout. However, the Android-based Essential Phone's has one too, and several other phone makers have mimicked the notch. © BCCL To further enhance Android's appeal, Google is also working on features that would improve the software's effects on smartphone battery life, according to the report. Google also wants to ensure the operating system will work with new smartphone designs, including those that come with foldable screens. Report sources claim there will be a "dramatic redesign" of the OS with Android P. Android hasn't seen any major changes since Material Design was introduced in Android 5.0 Lollipop, so a new look for the home screen is arguably overdue. It also says Google Assistant will assume a greater role in Android P, integrating more tightly with apps and the OS to help it stay ahead of rivals Alexa and Siri. Android P is expected to be more closed than Android 8.0 Oreo, according to previous reports, with Google supposedly working on limiting third-party access to some APIs in order to reduce the overall fragmentation of the OS.
  22. First off, if you're expecting an eccentric, ballistic or Ranveer Singh-esque outfit; drop off right away. Because, while you may expect a senior, prolific TV actor to pair his white sneakers in a rather, twisted way (you know, to represent his celebrity brand) — Kelkar's done the contrary here. Only difference? His 'twist' means going supremely minimal and utility-driven. © Viral Bhayani Fact: Off-duty outings of any celebrity never feature groundbreaking outfits. But while the ensembles may not be out-of-the-box in any way, they are no droops either. If you look at them from the view of casual/easy-to-slip-into gear, each celebrity fairs quite well on the style front. After all, even the combo of a basic T-shirt with jeans requires some effort (like, making sure it fits right, coincides with the shoulder line and doesn't make you look shorter/broader). Here's some evidence: © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Hear us out: on most occasions, our celebrities are headed for media events/movie promotions. For which, they're usually worked upon by a celebrity stylist, who's sourced her way out of a last minute project. So evidently, the outfits that you see on them, are styled to make every head turn. However, when the same actors are on the move (as per their will), they prefer dressing like ordinary individuals. Much like 'Senior' TV actor, Sharad Kelkar here: © Viral Bhayani For one, in the realm of must-have pieces for men, Kelkar is scoring a hands-down victory here. Every man (short/tall/fair/dark), needs a classic solid-coloured T-shirt and slim-fit jeans in his wardrobe. On days when you're groggy or headed to just grab a packet of wafers, these staples will definitely come handy. Of course on other days too, but you'd be forced to up the stakes sometimes (with a layering piece or standout accessories, as per the occasion). But that's beside the point; Sharad wasn't going for a headliner here. Pairing his outfit with crisp white sneakers, here's him also giving us affirmation that he's trend-aware too: © Viral Bhayani The man's off-duty, so we're letting him be. Plus, the outfit's solving the damn purpose, you know?
  23. We are sure most of you must have seen movies like 'Dunkirk', 'Blade Runner 2049', 'Rampage', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales', 'The Hobbit', 'Spectre', or 'Spider-man: Homecoming'. While, we thoroughly loved watching them and their drop-dead striking aerial shots, I'm sure most of us barely gave a thought to the hard work and technology that went behind it. But, Oscars did. Hence, they decided to acknowledge and appreciate their efforts at the Scientific and Technical Awards that took place over the weekend in Beverly Hills. The 90th Academy Awards aka the coveted Oscars 2018 is still a few weeks away. © Twitter However, this is not the reason why we are jumping up and down in excitement and beaming with pride at the same time. It's the fact that India received a great reward for its contribution in movies. In case you are scratching your heads in confusion, here's what happened. Vikas Sathaye, a genius Indian engineer raised in Mumbai, proved his mettle in front of the whole world and made the nation proud with his achievements; after he won an Oscar for Shotover K1 Camera System. Sathaye was a part of the esteemed four-member team that was honoured with the scientific and engineering award “for the concept, design, engineering and implementation of the Shotover K1 Camera System.” Brad Hurndell, John Coyle and Shane Buckham were the other team members. © Reuters We realize most of you will be confused right now wondering what did they really do, but trust us, you're not alone. So here's how the Academy broke down the explanation. Apparently, this is a “six-axis stabilized aerial camera mount” that has an “enhanced ability to frame shots while looking straight down.” Reportedly, Sathaye joined Shotover Camera Systems, located in Queenstown, New Zealand in 2009. He worked on the aerial mount there. In fact, Sathaye said, “One of the reasons to start this company in Queenstown was the natural beauty and stunning scenery which attract a lot of film producers and directors.” He further explained, “The camera mount gets attached to the base of a helicopter, which carries the camera and lens. Its primary function is to eliminate any vibration from reaching the camera and thus getting steady footage. The other function for the camera mount is to move the camera head in the desired direction as required by the camera operator, who sits inside the helicopter and uses a joystick to control the camera head movement.” Isn't this so cool? Sathaye was born in 1967 in Pune and spent most part of his life in Mumbai. After school, he completed a diploma in instrumentation from VPM's polytechnic, Thane. Then, he studied BE in electronics from VIT Pune and MTech in instrumentation from IISc. Sathaye was earlier a teacher, who taught at Pune Cummins College of Engineering for Women for a couple of years, during which he was sent to Italy for a project and it was there that he got inspired to take up this field. © Shotover So what do we learn from this folks? First, Oscars 2018 is around the corner and it's becoming difficult to contain our excitement. Second, let's not judge or make memes and jokes on engineers anymore guys; if they can create such brilliant and Oscar-worthy concepts, we guess they can do anything in the world and outer space and any other dimension they might have accidently found.fww
  24. Dubai is often called the city of skyscrapers and rightly so, as it houses the world's tallest building- the Burj Khalifa. And now, adding to its already long list of skyscrapers, Dubai now proudly houses the world's tallest hotel as well, the 'Gevora' hotel. Gevora Hotel A post shared by Gevora Hotel (@gevorahotel) on Jan 18, 2018 at 4:05am PST Thought this isn't the first time that Dubai is boasting of the tallest hotel in the world. Gevora's predecessor - Dubai's JW Mariott Marquis is just a metre short. Gevora hotel has 75 storeys and is 356 metres tall, while the JW Mariott Marquis has 72 storeys and is 355 metres tall. Gevora Hotel A post shared by Gevora Hotel (@gevorahotel) on Jan 18, 2018 at 4:08am PST If it's still difficult for you to comprehend its height and want something familiar to compare it to, then we should tell you that Gevora is three times taller than London's Big Ben and over 100 feet taller than Paris's Eiffel Tower. However, its height is not the only good thing about it- it exudes luxury at its finest. The revolving doors at the entry are gold. Quite literally so. And guess what? Even the smallest room is roughly 43 square metres. Umm guys, that is not what we call small. Instagram/Gevora Hotel Honestly, we can stay in these rooms forever. Instagram/Gevora Hotel The interior designer sure did an amazing job at everything. But a major attraction is the rooftop pool. Yes, a pool that is hanging at 356 metres in the air. Anyone's vertigo kicking in? Instagram/Gevora Hotel And what's the point of making the tallest hotel in Dubai, when it won't have a view that includes the Burj Khalifa? Instagram/Gevora Hotel The Gevora Hotel has six elevators and a total of 3,859 stairs. Although it isn't exactly something to boast about but when the stairs look like this, they sure are worth a mention. Instagram/Gevora Hotel Other comforts include Jacuzzis, health club and a luxury spa which have become a necessity in hotels in today's time. Instagram/Gevora Hotel They opened their doors on 12th February. So the next time you visit Dubai, make sure you get yourself a room in the Gevora. Although it'll sure as hell burn a hole in your pocket, but at least you'd have an Instagram-worthy view and the satisfaction of being in the world's tallest hotel. So start saving up!
