  1. LONDON: In her latest interview to a British publication, the former 'national bhabi' has claimed Imran Khan is 'quite exhausted' and that she doesn't see her former husband becoming the leader he has always dreamed of becoming. Reham Khan, in her latest interview published by the British daily TheTimes, claims she fled Pakistan after receiving threats of being "blown up." Individuals seeking to protect Imran Khan?s political career, "told us . . . that anyone who talks about Imran now is going to be blown up,? she said in her interview. Reham reiterated her claim that the relationship between Imran Khan and his now third-wife Bushra Watoo began while he was still married to her. ?He was very keen to get it done on this date, he?s very . . . number conscious,? Ms Khan told TheTimes. Recalling the time when he proposed to her, ?he sent me a message saying I want to know your parents? names for my spiritual adviser?. Interestingly, she added, ?when we had a spat he said the spiritual adviser had mixed up the names?. TheTimes also noted how Imran Khan's latest marriage is seen as a shift from the progressive broadminded playboy image to a very conservative one. Becoming PM an end in itself Reham Khan claimed that while she was married to the PTI chairman he was ?very clear? that for him becoming prime minister was an end in itself. ?He?s a sportsman, he has to bring in the trophy,? she said. Reham Khan also told TheTimes that she feels Imran Khan no longer has a chance of becoming the leader. ?He?s no spring chicken. It can be tiring. From the inside, I can tell you he?s quite exhausted,? she said, adding, ?He?s lost that trust. There?s been no performance. You can?t continue to play in a cricket team unless you bring in the wickets.? Zulfi demands apology from Reham for ?attacking? Imran?s new wife Zulfi Bukhari issued a scathing statement on Twitter, igniting a war of words, accusing Reham Khan of ?pandering to tabloids?
  2. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday chastised the bureaucracy alleging they had been serving only the Sharif family?s agenda. In his press conference, which he announced on Twitter a day earlier, to expose the nexus between the protesting bureaucrats and the Sharif family who Khan says were ?petrified? of what Ahad Cheema may say to save himself. TWEET Talking about the protests and banners on the streets Imran Khan likened Ahad Cheema to Nelson Mandela. He added the Cheema was Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif?s front-man and was looking after projects worth billions of rupees. There are corruption cases worth Rs14 billion on Cheema in just one project, Imran told journalists at his Bani Gala residence. He claimed that former DG NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry was used to save the Sharif family in the Hudaybia Paper Mills case. They made Saeed Ahmed the president of the State Bank of Pakistan. Imran added that the apex court has stated the all institutions are being controlled. ?These people who are sitting on top, all their dirty work is done by the bureaucrats at the bottom,? Imran said. Khan named multiple bureaucrats identifying them to be working for the Sharif family. He added, ?Bureaucrats are supposed to work for the country, not for the Sharif family.? Hitting at Shehbaz Sharif?s fashion choices, Khan said the Punjab chief minister even wore hats like those worn by Dons. ?In nine years Shehbaz Sharif spent Rs9 trillion,? Imran told journalists claiming all the money was spent through Sharif family?s children and the bureaucrats. He claimed that the SECP was involved in a cover-up when China was investigating its own company for raking in irregular profits.
  3. He is one of the biggest stars in India today but reaching here was no easy job for Salman Khan. From highs and lows to legal battles, Salman khan has seen a lot in order to achieve this stardom. The actor who is loved by millions has been through breaking points in his life but believes that his work doesn't give him the liberty to share the vulnerable side with the world. Having a great time with the kids! ð #3DaysToTubelight @TubelightKiEid @man_on_ledge @kabirkhankk A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Jun 19, 2017 at 10:31pm PDT Talking about it at the Global TiE Summit, the actor said, “My profession is such that I have to look good, dress up, do stylised action sequences and romance. Articles come on my affairs, me working with beautiful heroines and then suddenly a court date comes up... People see me on Bigg Boss in which I am laughing and joking. So, people think I don't give a damn about things. That is the most difficult part about our journey as actors. No matter what you are going through at your home or in your personal life, you can't have subtitles there. You have to be that character, no matter what you are going through,” Salman said at the Global TiE Summit. The actor also causally termed being depression or sorrow as luxury. “I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can't afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me,” he said. (c) Twitter Talking about his initial days in the film industry, Salman talked about Aamir Khan and revealed how he somewhere shaped and influenced his career, “The journey I began with 'Maine Pyar Kiya', not knowing if I would make it, and that time it was difficult because there was another actor, who had started his career and he had given a big hit. That kid's name was Aamir Khan. He was from the same locality. I thought that he made it and if I didn't make it, the whole of Bandra will start laughing at me. So, my concern was only Bandra- Pali Hill and the friends' circle, which just had four-five people,” he said. Coming e-soon ! A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Jun 4, 2017 at 11:53pm PDT Well, we bet even Aamir had no idea about how he unknowingly shaped Salman's work and made him deliver the blockbuster 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' that we still love. Further talking about how all this began he said, “When I was 15-16 (years old), I started partying and stuff like that because that's the age when everyone parties. When I was in college, I used to assist in films and then I started working as a model too.”
  4. It's the 21st century, and on paper, we might be taking a step towards becoming a developing nation, but in reality, we are still backward when it comes to dealing with mental health issues. In India, depression as a mental health problem is still considered a taboo. We aren't a country where we openly talk about it, maybe that's the reason why many who suffer from it are scared to take professional help. We often try shutting down such conversation and often call one dealing with it 'insane'. But what's even more concerning is when an influential figure talks about depression and terms it as 'luxury'. In a recent interview, Salman Khan spoke about how since the age of 15-16, he has been working non-stop and has never taken a time off. Even when the actor isn't shooting, he is out on the field doing something or the other. According to media reports, the actor even talked about mental health and said, “I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can't afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional.” He also added, “I see a lot of people going on vacations, but I cannot afford that luxury of taking a vacation.” Dear Salman, you ain't the only one who is missing out on vacations. There are lakhs of people out there who can't afford the luxury of taking a vacation. But you can SURELY afford the vacation. You not taking one is your CHOICE. And to be clear having a vacation and being depressed isn't the same thing. (c) Colors Depression is a serious issue and a bit of research will surely help you understand it. Also, DEPRESSION isn't a LUXURY...no one loves being miserable, sad, dejected, or low-spirited. It's not a CHOICE that someone can make. What stuns us is the fact when someone like Salman Khan who is considered a demigod in India dismisses it as a trivial problem. When a public face who can influence millions of people talks in this way, you can just understand the consequences his words can have and we don't need to tell you that. Depression isn't a temporary phase as if you are having a mood swing or just some random hormonal change which will get better. It is pretty serious and not easy to overcome. It is such a SHAME when a popular figure talks about it as if depression is like choosing a topping on your pizza, which you decided when to have and when not to have. (c) Twitter FYI Mr Khan, as per World Health Organisation (WHO), one in every four children between the age of 13 and 15 in India and 86 million people in the Southeast Asia region suffer from depression. Well, definitely can't call it a luxury now, can we? Mental illness is as serious as your back problem or you getting hurt while doing some stunt that goes viral all over the Internet. Those bruises you get are temporary but not DEPRESSION! Well, you can actually talk to your film fraternity friends to get a better idea about it. last day of tiger zinda Hai shoot n sharing with u 1st day of Race 3 ka pic in a bit ... A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Nov 12, 2017 at 8:30pm PST Actors like Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan have come forward and actually talked about it publically. Believe it or not but confessing that you are depressed or have come out of it ain't an easy job. It requires a lot of strength, hard work, and strong spirit. It is a fight much real than the action sequences you do on-screen. It ain't a fight that gets over with few retakes; in depression, every day is a fight and you are just clueless when it will end. So just a request Salman Khan, you have a crazy fan following and you know it. You know your super fan following and the impact your words have. So stop using terms like RAPE and DEPRESSION so casually, as if it is OK for it to happen. Because it is NOT OK. Think a bit before you speak; just like your on-screen characters, your off-screen one leaves an impression too. Trust me, no one would like to live in the luxury of being sad or depressed, not really an ideal life for anyone. Just give it a thought, because you can't get away with saying just about anything every time.
  5. Fans were heartbroken when their favourite celebrity couple, handsome Arbaaz Khan and sultry Malaika Arora, had their divorce finalised in May last year, ending 18 years of matrimonial harmony. Unlike other harsh break-ups, the two enjoy a cordial relationship and are often spotted together on outings with their son. Rumours often run amok, linking the two with any potential partners, however, ambiguity shrouds the relationship of the couple. Despite the divorce, Malaika refers to herself as ?Malaika Arora Khan? and recently her sister, Amrita Arora, introduced her as ?Malaika Arora Khan? during a show. Not only that, the social media accounts of the actress have the same name. During the show, when asked if she was lucky in love or lucky in cards, the diva responded that she was lucky in love. While about the last time she was single, Malaika responded that it was ?currently?. As for Arbaaz, he maintains that the two have a good relationship. He said that the priority of them both is their son, adding that he would do all that is required to ensure the situation is maintained. All these veiled hints puzzle fans, who are eagerly awaiting the reunion of their favorite couple.
  6. 'PML-N made Nawaz party president when he was supposed to answer for money he has invested abroad,' Imran said-Photo: File LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Thursday that Nawaz Sharif had already been disqualified by the Supreme Court, hence it is no surprise he had to quit as president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). "Nawaz had to go," said Imran while addressing the media, adding that whether the PML-N crumbles or not is not the real issue. Imran further mocked Nawaz by saying that he is complaining and crying after being removed from his post. ?PML-N made Nawaz party president when he was supposed to answer for money he has invested abroad,? the PTI chairman said, alleging that Nawaz invested Rs300 billion in 15 companies abroad. Instead of answering for his investments abroad, Nawaz produced a letter from the Qatari prince, Imran lamented. Nawaz terms recent Supreme Court decisions person-specific Addressing the media, former PM said Wednesday's Supreme Court decision disqualifying him as PML-N president was not unexpected Slamming other PML-N leaders and aides of Nawaz, the PTI chief said all of them know Nawaz?s money is actually looted money. The incumbent prime minister also helped former finance minister Ishaq Dar escape, Imran claimed. Vowing to rid the country of ?corrupt elements?, Imran reiterated the country is being controlled by a mafia which appoints similarly corrupt people to serve them. Imran?s comments come in response to the Supreme Court decision, which on Wednesday struck down a specific clause of the Elections Act 2017. As a result, Nawaz was de-notified as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president.
  7. Journalist Reham Khan, the ex-wife of PTI chief Imran Khan, claimed on Wednesday that people wanted her to get involved in politics, Geo News reported. "People wish for me to take up politics," she said in an interview to a British media outlet. It is very easy to put the onus of one's failures on someone else, the British Pakistani TV show host stressed, referring to how she has been accused of being a pawn of various elements in the Pakistani political scene. "Was Nawaz Sharif involved in my divorce from Imran Khan? The ones who accused me of being used used me himself," the 44-year-old stated. Reham Khan leaves Pakistan citing threats Reham confirms that she has left the country last night, discontinuing her daughter's studies Discussing her departure from Pakistan earlier this month, she said she was "forced to leave the country" because of threats made to her. "The situation in Pakistan was made so that I was forced to leave the country." Back on February 6, while speaking to Geo News' anchorperson Muneeb Farooq, she had confirmed that she left Pakistan after having received threats through phone calls made to her staff. Reham also reportedly shared an audio recording on the show, wherein a coordinator of the Reham Khan Foundation told her of how he received calls from unknown numbers, threatening him not to coordinate Reham's interviews and events. "None of the political parties is standing by me, nor backing me," she had said at that time. She said due to her anger towards those who threatened her, she has "given them more space in my book".

  10. In the near future, if humanity is wiped out by robots, now we know for sure who will be the last surviving human being. Sophia, the empty-eyed humanoid, who became the first robot to be granted citizenship in the world a few months ago is also the same robot that once said that she would destroy humans. But, it's okay. At least now we know who she would save while killing humans, and it's none other than Shah Rukh Khan, her favourite star. Okay, we're just kidding about the whole destroying part. During an interactive session at the ongoing World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Hyderabad, she made sure to specifically mention that machines would never destroy the human race. But, maybe the robots want us to believe that so they can strike when we're least expecting, or maybe that's just the conspiracy theorist in me being skeptical about everything. We'll never know for sure until they attack. Seems like for now we just have to worry about humans destroying other humans before robots, so let's come back to Sophia and her interesting revelations. When asked who her favourite actor was, reportedly Sophia said Shah Rukh Khan without any hesitation. (actually, why would she hesitate? she's a freaking robot) We all know that SRK's fan base is huge obviously, but the biggest takeaway from Sophia's answer is that it turns out being a fan of the actor is not just limited to humans. Maybe Sophia recently watched 'Ra.One' and related to it a lot. She also spoke about what makes her upset, saying, “I don't get upset like humans do. I hope to have real physiological feelings someday through which I will express my emotions. Then I can understand the feelings behind those emotions.” Another interesting thing she revealed was that even robots need to rest just like humans because everyone actually needs to rest once in a while. © Sophia/Twitter Now, coming to one of the remarks Sophia is quite famous for – when she said she wanted to destroy humans. When asked why did she earlier say she wanted to kill the human race, she replied, “I was a lot younger so I don't even know what that meant.. or perhaps I told a bad joke. All humans have a great sense of humour and guess my joke so to speak. I have a lot to learn.” See, this is character development, I'm proud of you Sophia, also please don't kill me if/when you turn evil. Also, while we're talking about Sophia, I would also like to mention a beautiful Twitter interaction between her and Chrissy Teigen from a few months ago. It has nothing to do with SRK, but I feel like everyone needs to see this. And, then followed by this.

The Swiss champion has cemented his legacy as the greatest tennis player of all time by reclaiming his number one title after six whole years. And, that's not it! With this, he also became the oldest player to reach world number one at age 36. See, he's so incredible, he's making me stick to the clichés and making me claim that age is just a number. 14. LAHORE: The hearing on defamation case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan ? filed by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif ? has been adjourned for two weeks. The court has adjourned the Rs10 billion defamation suit hearing as additional sessions judge Shabana Risalat is on leave. The duty judge has issued another notice to Imran?s counsels. During a hearing on February 2, the sessions court gave PTI chief's counsel Babar Awan the last chance to appear in court, as the latter had been a constant no-show since the defamation suit was filed in July 2017. Shehbaz's counsel had told the court that Awan was using delaying tactics by not appearing in court and challenging its jurisdiction. The court then gave Awan a last chance to appear and present his arguments. The hearing was adjourned until February 17. In November 2017, the Punjab chief minister had filed a petition seeking a swift verdict in the case. Shehbaz had stated in the petition that Imran was employing delay tactics and pleaded that the verdict be given in the next 90 days. Imran, in a public gathering last year, had claimed that Shehbaz had offered to pay him Rs10 billion to remain hush on the Panama Papers case against the Sharif family. The petition, filed in the court of Lahore additional sessions judge Azfar Sultan under sections 4 (defamation actionable) and 9 (remedies) of Defamation Ordinance, 2002, states that ?the facts and circumstances giving rise to the filing of the instant suit are that since the last week of April 2017, the defendant [Imran Khan] started uttering, spreading and resorting to the publication, communication and circulation of maliciously false, baseless and unfounded oral statements and representations against the plaintiff [Shehbaz].? Moreover, it states that Imran claimed Shehbaz ?offered to pay a sum of Rs10,000,000,000 to the defendant in exchange for his withdrawing/backing-off from, or remaining silent on the issue of the Panama Papers case?. 23. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that the Billion Tree Tsunami project has been completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1.12 billion trees were planted during the forestry drive. The PTI chairman was speaking to journalists, where he briefed them on the tree plantation project. He said the trees were planted over a period of three years, however, the PTI chief lamented that propaganda is being used to defame the forestry project. The project has been under scrutiny because of the magnitude of the project. Recently, the official documents of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government failed to correspond with the claims made by the PTI chief regarding the project. It is pertinent to mention that in August, an investigation within the government departments revealed that 145 officers of the KP forest division were found involved in corruption. Legal action was taken against those 145 officers, whereas, 44 officials were forcefully retired due to misappropriation of funds and other reasons regarding the project. Billion Tree Tsunami aims to turn around deforestation and increase the province?s forested area by at least two per cent. About 40 per cent of the country?s remaining forests are in KP province. Imran Khan and PTI-backed tree planting effort was said to hit its billion-tree goal by the end of 2017.
  24. Mashal Khan was lynched and murdered by an angry mob at the Abdul Wali Khan University on the pretext of committing blasphemy The anti-terrorism court hearing the murder case of university student Mashal Khan announced its verdict on Wednesday, awarding death sentence to one accused and handing life sentences to five others. Twenty-five accused in the case were awarded sentences of four years each, while 26 suspects were acquitted by the court for lack of evidence. On April 13 last year, 23-year-old Mashal Khan was lynched and murdered by an angry mob at the Abdul Wali Khan University on the pretext of committing blasphemy. However, investigators found no proof of blasphemy and ruled that the murder was politically motivated. Analysts in Geo News programme Report Card commented on the various aspects of the verdict and whether justice was served. Lawyer Babar Sattar said that only the family can tell if justice was served, however, the way trial was held and the verdict is a step forward in holding a mob accountable. While punishments should be handed out in brutal cases like these, Sattar said it is important for a balanced, functional judicial system that accused are given the benefit of the doubt. ?It is not right to ask that all accused just be hanged [without proper evidence],? he said. One awarded death, five life imprisonment in Mashal Khan murder case KP government will file appeals against acquittal of 26 suspects in the case, according to a senior government official Sattar said as the case goes through appeal, it will also lay down the jurisprudence on the responsibility of a mob. ?Those who were standing there with intent to contribute in the violence, and those who were standing there but didn?t do anything. [Should they also be punished?] These are questions society and courts need to determine,? he said, Senior journalist Mazhar Abbas said it is ?premature? to say if justice has been served because only one court has announced its verdict. He said that convictions happen in most cases heard by ATCs but high courts normally don?t uphold these sentences. We can say justice is served when high and/or Supreme Court give sentences,? he added. Analyst Irshad Bhatti said that he is satisfied with the judgement because a punishment was handed out ?in a country where cases go on for years?. Courts did not come under pressure and police carried out their work properly, he said. Analyst Hafeezullah Niazi meanwhile said ?five to seven people? should be hanged in a case so brutal. Imtiaz Alam said that Mashal case was important for the entire country, in which police, court, civil society, and prosecution underwent a trial. ?Justice will be served when his mother, his parents say so. Parents' complaints remain,? he added.
  25. HARIPUR/SWABI: An anti-terrorism court in Haripur will anounce the verdict in the Mashal Khan lynching case today. High-level security arrangements have been made at the court situated in Haripur prison, where the hearing will be held. Security personnel were also deployed at Mashal's residence and his grave in Swabi. The anti-terrorism court started hearing the case in September 2017 after indicting over 50 suspects, including students and staff of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), where Mashal was lynched. The Peshawar High Court had transferred the case from Mardan to ATC Abbottabad, which heard the case in the Haripur jail, on a request of Mashal's father, who sought the move fearing his "influential adversaries". On January 22, Mashal?s father said that he himself was bearing the expenses of the police security for his family and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf?s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has not fulfilled a single promise made to him after the lynching of his son. Mashal, a journalism student at AWKUM, was killed on April 13 by a violent mob on the pretext of committing blasphemy. However, investigators found no proof of blasphemy and ruled that the murder was politically motivated. An enquiry report, of the Joint Investigation Team formed over the lynching, revealed in June 2017 that members of the Pakhtoon Students Federation, the student wing of the Awami National Party, incited the mob to kill Mashal on the pretext of blasphemy. The report stated the murder was premeditated as the group was threatened by Mashal's activities because he would raise his voice against irregularities at AWKUM. According to the JIT report, the president of university employees, Ajmal Mayar, revealed during investigation that around a month before the incident PSF President Sabir Mayar and an employee of the varsity, Asad Katlang, went to him and said they wanted to remove Mashal from their way as he was a threat to their group. The report added that Sabir and Asad did not mention how they wanted to get rid of Mashal, but they are on the run since the day of the killing. Mashal, who was also part of PSF, would openly speak against irregularities in his varsity AWKUM, the report added. He had protested over the issue of university not having a vice chancellor after the previous one retired, as the absence of one would hinder the students from getting their degrees, read the report. "No one from the AWKUM management visited the camp, due to which Mashal called them thieves."
