  1. Much has been speculated about the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. The aviation pioneer who has set one a journey to fly across the globe had disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in 1937. Her or her plane's remains had not been found and a number of urban myths have taken birth ever since. © Twitter_ Chris Moore Besides the obvious crash and sink theory, it was proposed that she could have landed on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific, and ended up as a castaway. The more outrageous theories suggested that she, along with her navigator Fred Noonan, was captured and killed by Japanese forces after her aircraft crashed in an area under the Japanese South Pacific Mandate. There have been various claims supporting the truth of this theory, but none have been proven to be authentic. A TV series titled 'Unsolved Mysteries' aired a clipping of a Saipanese woman who claimed she had witnessed Amelia Earhart being executed by the Japanese. © Wikimedia Commons Earhart was flying from Lae Airfield in Papua New Guinea to a small island called Howland Island, where her aircraft was supposed to be re-fuelled, a trip that covered over 4,100 kms. They had only enough fuel for the plane to reach Howland Island, but the plane never reached Howland. It is believed they ran out of fuel and crashed either into the sea or onto another island nearby, probably Gardner Island, also called Nikumaroro. © Wikipedia The story of her disappearance and the theories surrounding it have almost become an urban legend today. Turns out there is finally a conclusive explanation to her disappearance now. A recent study has claimed that the bones found on Nikumaroro Island indeed belonged to Earhart. The bones, along with a human skull, had been found by a British expedition while exploring the island. The group also found a bottle of Benedictine, a herbal liqueur, and a box used to carry a Brandis Navy Surveying Sextant. The bones were carried to Fiji where they were analysed upon by Dr. D. W. Hoodless of the Central Medical School, and it was concluded that they probably belonged to a male. The enigma of Earhart's disappearance continued to stay alive after that. Debunking the earlier theory, the latest study on the Nikumaroro bones by University of Tennessee professor Richard Jantz now claims that the bones could in all probability be that of Amelia Earhart. Talking about the earlier study, Jantz explains how forensic science has advanced since then and has better tools and techniques today. In his study, Jantz analysed her bones taking measurements from her height, weight, body build and other statistics derived from her pilot's and driver's license. After almost 80 years since she disappeared, the mystery behind the crash is finally coming to a conclusive end.
  2. The ancient world has left many mysterious traces of its existence in our contemporary world. One such unexplained mystery so far has been the Gate To Hell. Also called the 'Gate of Death', it is located in Western Turkey, in the Denizli site that is home to ruins of the ancient Phrygian city of Hierapolis. For centuries, the Gate to Hell killed people and animals who ventured near it. There have been records from ancient times about humans, birds, and animals dropping dead upon coming close to the gate. For long, people have believed the Gate emits poisonous gases, which is essentially the breath of Hades, the god of the underworld. It is also believed that gate was a passage to the underworld. © The Sun Greek historians and geographers have documented the deaths around the Gate. In the old times, bulls were driven into the gate for sacrificial purposes and met with instant death. Now, scientists have backed the claim about the Gate of Death and discovered the truth behind the mysterious deaths. Led by Professor Hardy Pfanz, from the University of Duisburg-Essen, a team of researchers found out that the 'portal of hell' has been emitting concentrated levels of carbon dioxide. Since the cave is situated on the Badadag fault line, it is estimated that toxic gases have been leaking from the fissure in the ground and into the enclosure, thereby causing its air to become lethal. © Seeker According to the journal 'Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences', “They [carbon dioxide] reach concentrations during the night that would easily kill even a human being within a minute. These emissions are thought to reflect the Hadean breath and/or the breath of the hellhound Kerberos guarding the entrance to hell. Our measurements confirm the presence of geogenic CO2 in concentrations that explain ancient stories of killed bulls, rams, and songbirds during religious ceremonies. They also strongly corroborate that at least in the case of Hierapolis, ancient writers like Strabo or Plinius described a mystic phenomenon very exactly without much exaggeration. Two thousand years ago, only supernatural forces could explain these phenomena from Hadean depths.” More often than not, there is a scientific explanation behind the eerie supernatural phenomena in our world. The Gate to Death might have been the entry of Hades' underworld, but today, it's the toxic gas killing any life around it. What is the most eerie phenomena you've heard of? 3. KARACHI: A man was killed in Khyaban-e-Ittehad area in the wee hours of Sunday. The police earlier maintained that the man, Intezar Ahmed son of Ishtiaq Ahmed, was killed in firing by unknown assailants, later it was disclosed that the law enforcement authorities also opened fire at his car as he failed to stop his car despite their instructions. Four policemen were taken into custody due to their alleged involvement in the case. The deceased?s father informed media that Intezar, who recently came back from Malaysia, had a fight with two men two days back, Fahad and Haider, sons of a lawyer and policeman respectively. SSP South Javed Akbar informed press that 15 bullet cases of 9MM were recovered from the crime site, adding that a girl was also with the deceased, who fled after the incident.
  4. Britain's Prince Harry poses with Meghan Markle in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace, London, Britain, November 27, 2017/REUTERS LONDON: Britain?s newspapers were rife with speculation on Wednesday about the mystery matchmaker of Queen Elizabeth?s grandson Prince Harry and his fiancee American actress Meghan Markle who met on a blind date in London last year. In a televised interview on Monday when they announced their engagement, the couple were coy about the identity of the ?mutual friend? who had brought them together. ?We should protect her privacy and not reveal too much of that,? said Markle, with Harry adding: ?We?ll protect her privacy yeah. But it was - it was literally - it was through her.? On its front page, the Times newspaper declared that it was the fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who was born in Bahrain and raised in London. The paper said her estranged husband is Alexander Gilkes, who went to the same exclusive school, Eton College, that Harry, 33, attended, while she is also a close friend of Markle and went on holiday with her in the summer of 2016. However, the Daily Telegraph had a different solution. It said Violet Von Westenholz, who had been friends with Harry since he was a teenager, was behind the romance. Westenholz, a PR director for fashion label Ralph Lauren, had helped organise a publicity day for ?Suits? in London in June last year, the U.S. TV legal drama in which Markle was one of the cast?s stars. Harry and Markle, 36, began dating the following month. ?I might leave that for other people to say (who the matchmaker was),? she told the Telegraph. ?It?s a great love story and I am sure they are going to be very happy together.? News of the engagement has drawn huge global interest thanks to Harry?s royal status and the Hollywood sparkle added by his wife-to-be. Britain's Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip pose with Yeomen of the Guard and schoolchildren, after attending a Maundy Thursday service at St George's Chapel in Windsor, Britain March 24, 2016/REUTERS The couple announced on Tuesday they would wed in March next year at St George?s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. On Friday, the couple will take part in their first official royal engagement as a couple in the central English city of Nottingham, visiting charities working to prevent HIV/AIDS and youth crime. While the couple?s nuptials have dominated the news in Britain, a poll suggested more than a half of Britons were fairly non-plussed. A YouGov survey for the Times found 39 percent were pleased by the engagement, four percent disappointed and 52 percent indifferent. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail newspaper?s front page was dedicated to a 21-year-old picture of Markle sitting on railings with friend Ninaki Priddy outside Buckingham Palace, one of her future in-laws? London homes. ?I?m not shocked at all. She was always fascinated by the royal family,? Priddy was quoted by the paper as saying. ?It?s like she has been planning this all her life. She gets exactly what she wants and Harry has fallen for her play.?
  5. Virat Kohli is arguably one of the most popular sportsperson in the country. From chasing mammoth totals with his majestic batting to deploying shrewd tactics on the field, the 29-year-old has undoubtedly become one of the most influential cricketers on the international circuit. His ability to overcome pressure situations and bail his team out in dire circumstances has helped him earn accolades across the globe. The fact that he is currently ranked no. 1 in both ODIs and T20Is goes on to show how consistent this Delhi lad has been with the willow. Often labelled as the run-machine for Team India, the presence of the batting sensation in the playing XI is often directly related to the chances of his team coming out on top. But, at the end of the day, despite all his ripped physique and astronomical fitness levels, Kohli is only human. But, he's definitely not a quitter. © Reuters Ahead of the three-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka, some media reports claimed that the Indian captain might have requested to rest after the second game. There were also some who suggested that Kohli was opting out of the series to tie nuptial knot with his long-time girlfriend Anushka Sharma. Thus, when he asked about the same during a pre-match press conference, Kohli didn't just clear the air, but he did so in his typical style. "Definitely I do need rest, why don't I need rest? When I think of the time my body should be rested, I'll ask for it. I am not a robot you can slice my skin and check if I bleed," Kohli told reporters on the eve of India's first Test against Sri Lanka. He further explained Team India's rest policy in detail. "This is one thing which I don't think people explain properly. There is a lot of talk from the outside in terms of workload - whether a player should be rested or should not be rested. All cricketers play 40 games in a year. Three guys who should get rest, their workloads are to be managed. 11 players play the game but not everyone would have batted 45 overs in an ODI game or not everyone would have bowled 30 overs in a Test match," Kohli assessed. © Reuters "But the ones who are doing it regularly need to be assessed because the body takes that much time to recover. People only look at 'oh everyone has played 40 games'. They don't look at time spent on the crease. The number of runs that have been run between the wicket, the number of overs bowled in difficult conditions, what were the conditions, what were the temperatures like, have the bodies recovered or not -- I don't think people go into that analysis. So from the outside it looks like 'why are people asking for rest, everyone has played same number of games', he added. "But not everyone has the same kind of workload in every game. Only those who have major workload, for example Pujara during a Test season he will have maximum workload because he spends so much time at the crease. His game is built that way. So you can't compare that to a counter-attacking batsman, because the workload would have been lesser. © Reuters So I think all these things have to be taken into consideration. Purely because of the fact that we have built such a strong core team now of 20-25 players, you don't want important players breaking down at important times for the team," Kohli concluded. On Day 1 of the first Test at the Eden Gardens, persistent rains kept play at bay for quite some time. However, the rain gods did show some mercy with almost 12 overs being bowled before the umpires called-off play due to bad light. Unlike the rain gods, Sri Lanka and especially Suranga Lakmal showed no mercy to their Indian counterparts before putting them in a spot of bother at 17/3 by the end of first day's play. The likes of KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and even Virat Kohli proved no match to the skills of speeding Lakmal who didn't concede a single run in his spell of six overs. Though the overcast conditions did play a part in India's troubled start, it was the performance of Sri Lanka's frontline seamers - Lakmal and PLS Gamage - that clearly delivered a wake-up call to high-on-confidence Kohli brigade.
  6. If you thought that Indian makers can't come up with a good web series, then the second trailer of 'Bose: Dead/Alive' starring national award winner Rajkummar Rao will make you think again. Directed by Pulkit, this web series is one of the most anticipated ones. Rajkummar Rao, who is known for his amazing portrayal of any character, is all set to stun with the legendary character of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose—the man who not just started a revolution, but also questioned the intentions of Congress during Independence fight when no one else could dare to. The web-series will trace the journey of Netaji from being an introverted 14-year-old to a 48-year-old brave nationalist. From bringing in light the story of India's biggest cover-up to showing how it all began for Bose, this series is all set to give us one hell of a ride. The second trailer of the show was just released by the makers and Rajkummar Rao totally steals the show, making us very curious about his latest avatar. We can't wait to discover the myths and theories surrounding the mysterious disappearance of Subhas Chandra Bose in 1945. (c) ALT Balaji The clip begins with Bose meeting Hitler, and you also hear Bose's famous slogan, “Tum mujhe khoon do main tumhe azaadi dunga.” The fact that he actually had a German wife is also introduced in the trailer. The period setting of the series gives it an extravagant factor. Rao with his expression and one-liners simply hogs the entire spotlight, giving us goosebumps with his performance. You just can't take your eyes off him. You also get a glimpse of Patralekha, who looks stunning as ever. (c) ALT Balaji The fact that the trailer drops a hint about Netaji's life proves that this series will reveal facts that none of us are aware of. From personal vendetta, political reasonings to the mystery of Netaji's death, a lot will be out soon. Just can't wait to watch this one. Check out the second trailer here:
  7. When it comes to the game of cricket, the glorious history of the sport has been witness to interruptions of all kinds. Whether it's incessant rain, butt-naked streakers or stray animals, the proceedings during cricket matches have often been disrupted due to one of those reasons. But, during the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh at the Palam Air Force Ground, the play came to an abrupt halt for a more bizarre reason. Twitter The third day's play between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh was disrupted after a mystery man drove his WagonR onto the playing field and subsequently, on the pitch. The perpetrator, identified as Girish Sharma, is alleged to have been suffering from depression and is currently under treatment. Sharma entered the complex and instead moving towards the designated parking lot, which is behind the main pavilion, he took a detour entering from the Palam B complex into the field of play and took couple of rounds of the pitch before trying to leave the ground. Twitter A senior Indian Air Force official revealed that at around 4.30 pm, a security guard of the IAF was checking a BCCI vehicle when he spotted the Wagon R enter the ground. “The entry gate is adjacent to the Air Force station and can be accessed from main road. When the driver entered the ground, our staff closed the gate to prevent him from escaping. He was caught and handed over to police,” the official told the HT. The major security breach did leave the officials dumbfounded, but the cricketers, especially Ishant Sharma saw the lighter side of it before taking to Twitter to share the photos of the bizarre incident. 8. BRUSSELS: A mystery that has troubled Belgium for over 30 years may be solved after a deathbed confession by a former policeman that he was one of the ?Crazy Brabant Killers?, who left 28 people dead in a bizarre string of robberies in the early 1980s. Officials on Monday confirmed reports that detectives have been working on the new lead for months and were optimistic about finally identifying the group, also called the ?Nivelles Gang?. Its bloody, three-year spree has long fuelled conspiracy theories involving right-wing plots and official cover-ups during the era of the Cold War. With members dubbed ?The Giant? and ?The Killer?, a getaway driver known as ?The Old Man?, and possibly other accomplices, the gang terrorised towns in Brabant province around Brussels. They staged over a dozen raids, often on supermarkets, sometimes taking barely petty cash but gratuitously gunning down customers, staff, and even children. In 1985, after killing eight people at a store they burst into wearing grotesque face paint and disguises, they vanished as abruptly as they had appeared three years earlier. At the weekend, a man told broadcaster VTM that his brother, a retired policeman in Aalst near Brussels, confessed to him as he lay dying two years ago that he was the tall suspected ringleader of the gang who came to be known as ?The Giant?. ?In the beginning I was in denial because I really struggled with it,? the unnamed man sobbed on camera.beginning I was in denial because I really struggled with it,? the unnamed man sobbed on camera. ?But today I can say formally that this is my brother.? Newspapers published archive photo-fits from 1980s ?wanted? posters that once papered the country along with off-duty snaps of the towering, bespectacled former special forces gendarme.1980s ?wanted? posters that once papered the country along with off-duty snaps of the towering, bespectacled former special forces gendarme. ?I hope for the relatives of the victims that we can close this chapter soon,? Interior Minister Jan Jambon said on Monday. Ministers have convened investigators to review the new evidence. ?YEARS OF LEAD? A former Belgian lawmaker who took part in a parliamentary inquiry into the killing spree said suggestions of involvement by police officers were previously ignored by investigators. At the time, the proficiency of the killers in handling weapons and evading capture raised such suspicions. Despite the possible identification, the motives of the gang remain unclear. Local media said the suspect was dismissed in 1981 from the Diana Group, an elite police commando unit. The confession may revive suspicions about shadowy establishment support for the ?Killers? during Europe?s ?Years of Lead?, when left- and right-wing urban guerrillas also troubled Italy, Germany and France. Errors in the Brabant Killers case and in the 1990s hunt for child killer Marc Dutroux drove Belgium to replace a patchwork of forces with the federal police, which ministers credit with tracing the Islamic State cell that struck Paris and Brussels. But memories of past failures, including the oft-cited Brabant mystery, still provide fuel for critics of the police. Among their crimes, the gang robbed a grocery at Nivelles in 1983, killing a couple who stopped at an all-night fuel station next door and then shooting police who arrived at the scene. In November 1985, they stormed into a supermarket in Aalst brandishing pump-action shotguns. The frenzied shooting of people cowering on the floor and a nine-year-old girl waiting in a car outside helped fix the gang?s ?crazy? image in the public imagination. But it was also their last. Investigators believe the most murderous of the trio -- The Killer -- was hit by police and either died or was killed by the others, who then disposed of the body where it was never found.
  9. Looks like Bollywood will finally show us a good crime thriller after a long hiatus. The trailer of ‘Ittefaq' was released a while ago and yes, it totally looks the kind that we want to watch. Remember the good old crime stories like ‘Talash', ‘Ajnabee' and even ‘Kahaani'? Now that's the kind of genre we are talking about. The trailer begins with the classic interrogatory line, ‘Toh hua kya kal raat ko'? He was accused of a crime he did not commit! The latter is also a prime suspect and the trailer shows two sides of the same story. She is accused of killing her husband...but did she? The movie marks the debut of Abhay Chopra as a director and the interesting part is that it is apparently an adaptation of the Yash Chopra film that goes by the same name. My fav films by Yashji #Ittefaq is being recreated by Abhay. Thx @S1dharthM @sonakshisinha Akshaye. Also BR & Dharma Films tie up with RCE — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) February 20, 2017 Will the movie live up to its hype of being a modern day remake? Only time will tell. The movie is all set to hit screens on November 3rd.
  10. When it comes to cricket, the northern Indian city of Meerut is well known for the industrial production of sports goods - most famously those under the brand SG (a household name for cricket enthusiasts in the country). But, apart from that, the city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has also produced seam-bowling sensations in Praveen Kumar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While Praveen's stint with the Indian team has been brief, Bhuvneshwar's is the one that continues to fuel the ambitions of Men in Blue across all formats. The 27-year-old is capable of making the ball hoop around corners, mostly back into right-handed batsmen. But, his ability to ensure the ball hold its line often enough has proved to be a genuine threat, even to some of the best batsmen in the game. © BCCL For a 19-year-old who took domestic cricket by storm after dismissing Sachin Tendulkar for his first first-class duck, Bhuvneshwar has surely come a long way to claim 142 scalps in 111 international games across all formats for India. But, unlike the fiery and short-tempered bowlers in the modern-era, Bhuvneshwar is known for his calm and composed demeanour. He is rarely seen sledging, there has rarely been a verbal exchange involving him and his body language is always positive. No matter the situation, pressure or on-field altercation, Bhuvneshwar has always let his skills do the talking. And, that's probably the reason why he has been such a hit with the females and considered one of the most eligible bachelors in the Indian cricket team. Dinner date ð full pic soon ð A post shared by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (@imbhuvi) on May 10, 2017 at 10:32pm PDT But, the Indian cricketer surprised his fans when he posted a cropped photo of himself from a dinner date five months ago. With everyone left wondering who his dinner date was, Bhuvneshwar had promised to share the 'full picture' soon. Here's the better half of the picture @nupurnagar ðð A post shared by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (@imbhuvi) on Oct 3, 2017 at 5:13am PDT And, after teasing his fans for almost five months, Bhuvi has finally shared the complete photograph and also revealed the identity of the woman alongside him in the picture. Taking to Instagram, Bhuvi wrote: "Here's the better half of the picture @nupurnagar”. My little bit of Sunday glimpse...! #happyfriendshipday #sunday #selfie #smile A post shared by Anusmriti Sarkar (@anusmritisarkarofficial) on Aug 6, 2017 at 3:54am PDT The Indian bowling spearhead might have revealed the name of his better-half, but she still continues to remain a mystery for the fans. But, Bhuvneshwar's recent post has surely put an end to the rumours of his alleged link-up with model-turned-actress Anusmriti Sarkar who was initially believed to the Indian bowler's dinner date.
  11. Hardik Pandya is arguably one of the highly-sought after cricketers in the current breed of Indian youngsters donning the national colours. Rising through the ranks, Hardik has proved his worth - both with the bat and ball - to become a vital cog in the destructive Indian team.` Recently, he was key to India's triumphant 4-1 campaign against Australia in the five-match ODI series. The right-hander smashed 222 runs including two fifties and took six wickets at an economy of 6.06 in the home series. Thanks to his exploits, Hardik was rightly adjudged the Man of the Series. For someone who is effective on the field and then backs it up with an impressive off-field demeanour, it's no surprise that Hardik has become one of the most eligible bachelors in the Indian team with his female fanbase ever-increasing. Being one of the hot topics among cricket fans, Hardik was in the news for his alleged link-up with Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra. Though both denied the reports, the rumour mills continue to speculate. ððð @hardikpandya_official @hardikpandya_official A post shared by Hardik Pandya (@hardikpandya_official) on Sep 29, 2017 at 8:55am PDT And, recently, the Indian cricketer once again hogged the limelight after his photograph with a 'mystery girl' went viral on the social media. The image, posted by one of his fan accounts on Instagram, got the social media buzzing with everyone seeking the identity of the girl alongside Hardik. Mystery solved! That's my sister ð — hardik pandya (@hardikpandya7) October 2, 2017 With fans coming up with all sorts of theories, the speculations were laid to rest once and for all by Hardik who eventually revealed the true identity of the girl. Taking to Twitter, the 23-year-old revealed that the girl alongside him in the photo was none other than his sister. Well, that was surely not the kind of response anyone (especially the gossip groups) was hoping for, however, it ended up garnering more likes than the 'mystery photo' itself. The fans couldn't help but laud the Indian cricketer for dealing with the entire episode in the best way possible. And, in the end, it was the media that ended up receiving the short end of the stick. ððð reporters ki 2-4 din ki masala news ki waat lag gai... — Akash Kasote (@iAkash_kasote) October 2, 2017 Moral of the story, give up this kind of chomu journalism. 12. Well, the revised version of 90's favourite song ‘Oonchi Hai Building' from ‘Judwaa 2' is finally out and people seem to love it. It's just been three days and the song has garnered over 10 million views on Youtube and is still trending. © Fox Star India Just like the original tune, the song is sung and composed by Anu Malik with Neha Kakkar joining the team, making us all nostalgic about Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. Man, that was one hell of a song and it still makes us groove. Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu star in the latest version and are damn entertaining. Everything in the song is almost the same; however, there is a slight change in the lyrics and that has created a ton of confusion. We bet many you might have heard a line in the song, ‘Mere Sagar wale raja' that might have left you bewildered. You may have repeated the lyrics and just wondered who is ‘Sagar wale raja'? Still scratching your head? Well, you ain't alone! I still didn't understand why does this line exist - "Aaja mere sagar wale raja" :/ #OonchiHaiBuilding @Varun_dvn @Asli_Jacqueline — Shraddha Mehta (@ShraddzM) September 7, 2017 #OonchiHaiBuilding is good but "mere sagar wale Raja" ye line kuch jami nahi @Varun_dvn — GHALIB DANGER (@ghaalibdanger) September 8, 2017 Can anyone explain why the new #OonchiHaiBuilding has @iAmNehaKakkar singing "mere sagar wale raja" instead of "band baja leke aaja"? — Savar (@SavarSuri) September 7, 2017 I first heard it as Aaja Aaja Aaja, mere Sagar wale Raja! And was like Wut!? Who Sagar!? ð — RAJA ki ALISHKA (@mainteriheroine) September 7, 2017 But finally the mystery was solved when people on Twitter spotted the mistake and clarified that it wasn't ‘Sagar wale raja' but ‘Swagger wale raja'! Makes a lot of sense now, doesn't it? Aaja aaja aaja mere swagger wale raja... ðð#OonchiHaiBuilding — Mimansa Shekhar (@mimansashekhar) September 7, 2017 When it is "Mere swagger wale raja" instead if "mere sagar wale raja"...hindi songs these days... kaffi annoying #Judwaa2 — Gunjan Vaswani (@gtv58) September 8, 2017 Soon, Tapsee Pannu tweeted, putting a stamp down on the all confusion once and for all. Aaja aaaaaaaja aaja mere "Swagger" wale Raja ð — taapsee pannu (@taapsee) September 6, 2017 © Fox Star India Wee, looks like they've finally solved the mystery, huh? What do you guys think?
  13. Pictures of ‘Game Of Thrones' author George RR Martin from his younger days have surfaced and are making fans go crazy. The reason - he looks uncannily similar to Jon Snow, the brooding stylish hero of ‘Game Of Thrones' the show. The same soft locks, shy smile and deep eyes. George RR Martin is Jon Snow! © Imgur It won't be wrong to assume then that Jon Snow is here to stay and do greater things. It's been widely assumed that Samwell Tarly was the author's voice. But these pictures of Martin tell a different story for sure. #TBT circa 1976 pic.twitter.com/d51nuFTf7c — George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) May 25, 2017 Hell yeah Like an aged Jon Snow — Bran Long (@A_Long_Bear) May 25, 2017 Turns out Jon Snow does know something! King of The North who's name is Martin — Gia (@xoprincess19) May 25, 2017 Now fans are using this resemblance to predict Jon Snow's future on the show. Rest assured Snow is not gonna die anytime soon. While of course the resemblance is a coincidence – the books were written way before the show and way before Kit Harrington was signed on for the role of Jon Snow. But perhaps some casting director or produce had a clever sense of humour? We can only guess!

Soon, the smell became the main topic of discussion among residents on social media. The obvious trolls were of course there to give their two cents too. A Facebook page, titled Weather Updates PK, stated that the smell stemmed from a change in wind direction, but still did not get to the root cause of the foul odour. However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has yet to reveal any detail regarding the strange smell.
  15. A Handbag is a priority for a woman and a horror for a man! Well there are a whole lot of conceptions that a man has about a lady’s purse. The comedian Kenny Sebastian is back with his latest ‘Chai Time video’ on mysteries of the female purse and there he jokes about the life inside a female purse, and what its horrors are for men. Kenny gave us all about the mini civilization she carries on her shoulder everyday and how men and women respond to the items residing in the magical island – THE PURSE! The wallet inside the purse, like the handbag itself, is only so big to contain all these mini wallets. © YouTube Can you recall all those half eaten chocolates that women ramble up in their purses so they can sneak in some in the middle of a conversation without you realizing it? Ever noticed how suddenly your girlfriend stops talking and her mouth seem to be filled with air? Well, that isn’t air; it’s the chocolate she doesn’t want to share! © YouTube He also made a valid point when he exclaimed, “Why wear sunscreen, when you can impress even the sun from your make up?” Like always, he never fails to impress us with his comic timing.
  16. Two days ago, on May 24th, the Indian Air Force’s fighter jet, the Sukhoi-30 went missing. The jet was being piloted by Squadron Leader Devesh Pankaj and Flight Lieutenant Achuth Dev. It had taken off from the IAF base in Assam and went off radar in under an hour, near the dense jungles of the Assam-China border. It was on a usual routine sortie when they lost contact. Search and rescue teams were pressed into action and only after two days of relentless pursuit, the debris of the jet has been found. The pilots though, are still missing, adding to the problems of the IAF. 72 hours on, wreckage of missing #Sukhoi30 found Read @ANI_news story -> https://t.co/D2yQSvQaSC pic.twitter.com/kbd1AXSFjl — ANI Digital (@ani_digital) May 26, 2017 The media and the internet had to take notice and the pressure on the IAF and defense ministry is starting to build up. Sqn Ldr Devesh was married & had a kid , while Flt Lt Acchu was a bachelor — Sumann Sharrma (@SumannSharrma) May 23, 2017 This isn’t the first instance when the IAF has lost a Sukhoi. Ever since it’s induction in the force, 7 Sukhois have crashed because of technological glitches. There’s still no word from the Air Force on whether the jet was shot down or it simply crashed. As the investigation continues, China’s involvement can neither be denied, nor be confirmed at the moment. As of now, we’re still in the dark but sooner or later, everything will be revealed.
  17. Over the years, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has served as a great platform for the young domestic cricketers to break into the big league. Several budding talents who have not played limited-overs cricket for India have also caught the eye of the people during the ongoing tenth edition of the tournament. Some have been consistent throughout, while others have produced moments of brilliance. Some are new names, while others have proved their mettle in the IPL for a few seasons now. But, no one amongst them has been as impactful as young Washington Sundar was last night at the Wankhede stadium. After representing India at the Under-19 World Cup in 2016, Sundar was roped in by Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) as a replacement for injured Ravichandran Ashwin this season. The young off-spinner had played just nine games for Pune, taking a mere six wickets in what looked like an ordinary performance before the play-off stage. © Twitter/IPL But, during the crucial match between Pune and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 1, Sundar didn't just make a mark, but literally emerged as one of the biggest contributors to his team's ascension to the final. On a stage where even the most seasoned campaigners in the sport succumb to the pressure, the 17-year-old showed great temperament in arguably the biggest night of his budding cricket career. At the forefront of another sublime bowling performance, Sundar bowled tidy and accurate lines with his offspin to finish the game with impressive figures of 3-16 - making him the youngest Man of the Match award winner in IPL history. Thanks to his brilliant performance with the ball, Pune romped to a 20-run win over the hosts to enter the tournament's final. Washington Sundar is a top order batsman. Making the side for his off-spin. Lesson? Always good to know a second language!! — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) May 16, 2017 Sharing the new ball with Jaydev Unadkat, the Tamil Nadu cricketer bowled the second over and conceded nine runs including a six by Parthiv Patel. Chasing a below-par total of 162 runs, Mumbai were comfortably placed at 41/1 when Sundar was brought back into the attack by Steve Smith. © Twitter/IPL And, the Pune offie turned the game on its head by dismissing Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu in the same over. Bowling the sixth over, Sundar trapped Rohit in front of the stumps - even though the Mumbai captain didn't look too pleased and seemed to indicate that there was an inside edge - on the very first ball. Two deliveries later, the Pune spinner struck again, this time, sending in-form Rayudu back in the hunt for a golden duck. Ati Sundar, Washington ! — Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) May 16, 2017 The wickets of Rohit and Rayudu were already a big loss for Mumbai, but the Tamil Nadu teenager wasn't done yet. He soon returned to grab the big wicket of Kieron Pollard, the last big gun of the Mumbai batting line-up. It wasn't really a cracker of a delivery, rather the pressure of dot balls created by him earlier led to a faulty shot from Pollard. © Twitter/IPL On a Wankhede pitch that was comparatively slower than the previous games, Sundar bowled a fuller-than-good-length and a straight line meant that the batsmen weren't able to attack either side. His quick speed, combined with that length, cut down Mumbai's run-scoring options as the hosts failed to steer their chase. Washington bowled consistently fast (speed range: 99.0kph-102.9kph) and stump-to-stump. Simple but very effective. #IPL pic.twitter.com/waymes9lAY — Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) May 16, 2017 In a game where batting eventually proved to be a real task with the ball gripping the surface, the right-arm spinner stuck to his basics and made full use of the conditions to spin a web around the Mumbai batsmen. For a cricketer who - just like Ashwin - went from being a batsman, as a youngster, to making his name as an off-spinner, Sundar has clearly come a long way with the promise of even bigger and greater things in future. Washington Sundar (17 years, 223 days) is the youngest to take a 3-wkt haul in IPL history, beating Kamran Khan (18y, 44d) #MIvRPS — Bharath Seervi (@SeerviBharath) May 16, 2017 Washington Sundar is just 17, and he's delivering it on a big day in front of Dhoni & Sachin. And here, I'm.. 😳😳 — CSK Gautham 💫 (@gauthaCm) May 16, 2017 Least runs conceded by bowlers having an age less than 20 in an IPL match: 15 Kamran Khan 16 Piyush Chawla, WASHINGTON SUNDAR*#MIvRPS — Umang Pabari (@UPStatsman) May 16, 2017 Well done Washington Sundar!! pic.twitter.com/y0joiqXyUH — Mithun Manhas (@MithunManhas) May 16, 2017 What a lovely spell by this man ! @icc and @BCCI should use his services to popularise the sport in America ! #washingtonsundar — vikram sathaye (@vikramsathaye) May 16, 2017 @bhogleharsha I watched him bat in U19 WC. 18. LAHORE: A 17-year old boy died mysteriously in Lahore’s Gulberg vicinity on Wednesday. Those attending the funeral alerted the police after they saw torture marks on the body. The deceased’s family – residents of Mecca Town – buried the teenager in a graveyard in Sherakot. 19. GENEVA: Eleven people have died and five are in the hospital, Liberian officials said on Friday, after contracting a mystery illness the World Health Organisation (WHO) said was linked to attendance at the funeral of a religious leader. "We are still investigating. The only thing we have ruled out is ... Ebola," said Liberia's Chief Medical Officer Francis Kateh, adding samples from the victims had been sent abroad for further testing. On Wednesday, the WHO said Liberian health authorities were taking rapid precautionary steps after eight people died of a mystery illness, 10 months after the end of a two-year Ebola virus outbreak. "It seems all of these people were attending the funeral of a religious leader," WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib told a briefing in Geneva. "They have taken samples from the dead bodies and all the samples came back negative for Ebola. They will be looking of course for other haemorrhagic fevers and for bacteria, if there was any common exposure to water contamination or food contamination," she said. Five people remain under observation in hospital in Sinoe county, a four-hour drive south-east of the capital Monrovia, and four have been discharged, Kateh said. The symptoms include fever, vomiting, and diarrhoea, said Chaib. Hospital staff are wearing protective equipment and contacts of the sick are being traced in the community to see if they have fallen ill, she added. "WHO, CDC (US Centers for Disease Control) and other partners are providing technical and logistical support to the rapid response team that has been activated at district and county levels," Chaib said. In June last year, the WHO declared Liberia free of active Ebola virus transmission, the last of three West African countries at the epicentre of the world's worst outbreak of the disease. The epidemic killed more than 11,300 people and infected some 28,600 from 2013 as it swept through Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, according to WHO data. A WHO advisory group of vaccine experts is due later on Friday to issue their findings after a three-day regular meeting on vaccines. The statement would include an update on "efficacy, safety and timelines for licensing Ebola vaccines", Chaib said.
  20. All you ‘Baahubali’ fans out there, here’s a great reason to rejoice as one of the most safeguarded mysteries of Bollywood is finally going to be unraveled. Yes, we are talking about the same question that the entire nation has been seeking an answer to – “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?” This query alone has turned so many heads that we wouldn’t be surprised if any minister includes this issue in his next election campaign – or it comes as a question in the board exams – before the release of the movie, of course. Recently, the internet lost its sh*t when Director SS Rajamouli shared this poster of ‘Baahubali 2’ on Twitter. However, while he appreciated his designer for coming up with this great idea, he did mention that it’s unscheduled. Our designer jegan came up with this idea. Couldnt help but tweet, though unscheduled. The boy he raised The man he killed... #Baahubali2 pic.twitter.com/hMV4YN5hVn — rajamouli ss (@ssrajamouli) 11 March 2017 After the phenomenal success of the first installment, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, people’s expectations have sky-rocketed to such an extent where it’s getting difficult to wait for even a day. Recalling the story plot from the first movie, Kattappa was the king’s royal slave and very faithful to Baahubali. So, the audience was left aghast and on the edge of their seats when they saw Kattappa stabbing him. While, the audience was looking for some sort of closure, the climax really made up for everything that people might have been disappointed with. © Arka Media Works The poster looks highly impressive and if you too are pumped about getting more ‘deets’ about the movie, then wait until March 16 when the trailer will be launched. Further, the movie is slated to release in April, so 2017 is definitely going to be one of the most action packed and entertaining years for Bollywood.
