  1. Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid were the poster couple that the millennial world needed desperately. They looked simply perfect. © Instagram Well, it is 2018 and people break up sooner than we think. Our gorgeous couple here also unfortunately ended things and we did not see it coming. While many go for rebounds, some lie low-key, some take a vacation, but Zayn decided to get more tattoos as a coping mechanism! He got inked again and honestly, I couldn't help myself but compare him to our 'pandi ji's '. Why? Because he got a rose inked on him, which looks like a rat-tail tattoo actually. A post shared by Zayn Malik (@zayn) on Mar 16, 2018 at 1:42pm PDT You know how the rat tail hairstyle resembles slightly to the little string of hair that most Hindu priests have? Turns out it is also a fashion statement now. © Twitter Zayn is famous for his love for tattoos and recently got Gigi's eyes inked on his chest. A post shared by Zayn Malik (@zayn) on Mar 13, 2018 at 6:12pm PDT A post shared by Zayn Malik (@zayn) on Mar 13, 2018 at 6:12pm PDT Well, I guess tattoos last longer than love these days.
  2. Trump and McMaster shake hands after the latter was announced as NSA in Feb last year. Photo: Reuters WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has decided to replace his national security adviser, HR McMaster, but the move is not expected to be made immediately, the Washington Post reported on Thursday. Citing five people with knowledge of the plans, the Post said Trump was considering several possible replacements, including former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton and Keith Kellogg, the chief of staff of the National Security Council. The White House did not immediately respond to a request from Reuters for comment. Trump fires Tillerson, replaces him with hawkish spy chief Pompeo Gina Haspel will become the CIA director On Tuesday, Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the president has signaled in recent days that a shake-up at the top levels of his administration was not over. ?I?m really at a point where we?re getting very close to having the cabinet and other things that I want,? Trump told reporters after Tillerson was fired. McMaster is not expected to be ousted immediately, the Post reported. Trump is willing to take his time making the change to avoid humiliating McMaster and carefully choose a strong replacement, the Post said. Trump Chooses HR McMaster as National Security Adviser General known for sharp questions will be Trump's new top security adviser Trump never personally gelled with McMaster and the president recently told White House Chief of Staff John Kelly that he wanted McMaster replaced, according to the Post. Trump has complained that McMaster, a three-star army general, is too rigid and that his briefings go on too long and seem irrelevant, the Post reported. McMaster is Trump?s second national security adviser, succeeding Michael Flynn who was dismissed a year ago for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about his contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States.
  3. Being a celebrity means that you and your life is always in the limelight and everything is up for speculation, and most of the time, it is still bearable and okay, but sometimes people cross a line. Yes, they chose this life but people also need to respect their privacy, after all they are also human, and not everything is supposed to be shared with the public. Twitter/Irrfan Khan Recently, Irrfan Khan revealed that he's suffering from a rare disease, probably because he appreciates his fans so much that he wanted to share everything with them, the good and the bad. But, the problem is that this was all he shared, but rumours started flying and there were way too many different theories since he posted his news on Twitter. ðð» pic.twitter.com/JXD8NKwH3D — Irrfan (@irrfank) March 5, 2018 Yes, everyone is curious and everyone wants to support him, but this is a private matter and he will share more when he feels the time is right. Making up random stories and starting rumours about different diseases he is suffering from just seems very insensitive right now. Youtube Soon after his tweet, rumours of him having a brain tumour went viral. Even after clarifications from his friend, the speculation continued and everyone was just focussing all their energy on the wrong thing. It seems like the rumours got so bad that Irrfan's wife, Sutapa Sikdar has finally spoken about the issue. She wrote a heartfelt message for everyone on Facebook, addressing everyone's concerns, thanking them for all the prayers and apologising for all the secrecy (which she doesn't need to, tbh). Here's the post: This is so well put, hopefully everyone will give the family time and privacy to deal with it. This is a time to just pray for him and he has doctors to figure out his condition, so no doesn't need media and random people on Twitter to diagnose him.
  4. The death of India's legendary superstar Sridevi left a vacuum that can never be filled in the time to come. While fans around the world are still trying to cope with this tragic reality, it is a heartbreaking moment for Sri's husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor. What's even more heart-rending is the fact that it's Jhanvi's first birthday without her mother. The beautiful lady turns 21 today and is on the cusp of making her debut in B-town. A post shared by Sridevi Kapoor (@sridevi.kapoor) on Jan 28, 2017 at 10:00pm PST Today is Jhanvi's birthday and she finally broke her silence on her mother's death, by sharing a post that will touch your soul and leave you shaking. Taking to her Instagram she expressed her emotions and wrote, “On my birthday, the only thing I ask of all of you is that you love your parents. Cherish them and devote yourself to making them feel that love. They have made you. And I ask that you remember my mother fondly, pray for her soul to rest in peace. Let the love and adulation you'll showered on her continue and please know that the biggest part of my mother was the love she shared with papa. And their love is immortal because there was nothing like it in the whole world. Nothing as joyful and pure and no two people as devoted to one another as they were. Please respect that, because it hurts to think anyone would ever try to tarnish it. Preserving the sanctity of what they had would mean the world not only to my mother but also to a man who's entire being revolved around her, and her two children who are all that remains of their love. Me and Khushi have lost our mother but papa has lost his “Jaan”. She was so much more than just an actor or a mother or a wife. She was the ultimate and the best in all these roles. It mattered a great deal to her to give love and to get love. For people to be good and gracious and kind. She didn't understand frustration or malice or jealousy. So let's be that. Let's be full of only good and give only love. That would make her happy, to know that even in death, she gave you all something. The courage and inspiration to fill yourselves with nothing but love and rid yourselves of bitterness in any way and form. That's what she stood for. Dignity, strength, and innocence." â¤ï¸ A post shared by Sridevi Kapoor (@sridevi.kapoor) on Jan 12, 2017 at 1:20am PST "Thank you for the love and support everyone has shown us in the past couple of days. A post shared by Jhanvi Kapoor (@Jhanvikapoor) on Mar 2, 2018 at 10:09pm PST Jhanvi's post has moved tons of her fans and we truly respect her thoughts. One can see how she is concerned about her dad who has lost the love of his life and a friend. As she says, respect your parents and make them feel special, it's needed. For we don't know how long they will be with us. We have lost our 'Chandni' and the screen will never light up again the way it did when she smiled. Sriji you will be missed forever!

  7. Afghan security forces keep watch at a checkpoint near the site of a suicide attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, February 24, 2018. REUTERS/Mohammad Ismail LASHKAR GAH: Taliban militants have attacked an Afghan army post and killed 18 government soldiers, the defence ministry said on Saturday, while a suicide bomber in the capital killed one person and wounded six. Violence has intensified in Afghanistan since US President Donald Trump unveiled a more aggressive strategy in August with US-led forces carrying out more air strikes and the Taliban responding with bombs, ambushes and raids. Militants attacked a government army post overnight on Friday in the western province of Farah, a Ministry of Defence spokesman said. ?A large number of Taliban attacked an army outpost and we lost 18 soldiers and two were wounded,? said the spokesman, Dawlat Waziri. Waziri said he had no more details of the attack. The Taliban claimed responsibility and said two of their fighters were killed. The bomb in Kabul on Saturday was the latest in a spate of attacks in the city in which hundreds of people have been killed and wounded. The capital has been on high alert since a Taliban suicide bomber blew up an explosive-packed ambulance on a busy street on Jan. 27, killing more than 100 people and wounding at least 235. A week earlier, militants killed more than 20 people, including four Americans, in an attack on one of the city?s top hotels. The Taliban claimed that attack too. On Saturday, a bomber blew himself up on a road near the headquarters of Afghanistan?s NATO-led mission. The identity of the casualties was not known, said Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish. Daesh claimed responsibility in a message on their Amaq news agency. Daesh?s Afghan affiliate, which first appeared near the border with Pakistan in 2015, has become increasingly active and has claimed several recent attacks. The Western-backed government is under growing public pressure to set aside rivalries and improve security. President Ashaf Ghani has approved a new security plan for Kabul but it was not clear what steps could be taken in the city of 5 million people, which already has numerous checkpoints and vehicle restrictions. Also on Saturday, at least one civilian was killed and eight were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated a car-bomb in Lashkar Gah, the capital of the southern province of Helmand, said Omar Zwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor. The Taliban, fighting to drive out foreign troops and re-establish their regime, claimed responsibility. In another attack in the province, a suicide bomber targeted an Afghan army post killing two soldiers and wounding one, Zwak said.
  8. Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York, US, February 7, 2018. REUTERS/Brendan McDermid/Files NEW YORK: The dollar rose and stocks around the globe rallied for a sixth straight session on Friday to post their best week in more than two years, but a US indictment over alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election cooled gains on Wall Street. The 37-page indictment of a Russian internet agency filed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller described a conspiracy with the aim of supporting Donald Trump and sowing discord in the US political system. Wall Street turned south on news of the indictment but soon rebounded as the fundamental story has not changed, Ben Phillips ? the chief investment officer at EventShares ? said, referring to a strong corporate earnings outlook and robust economy. Analysts continue to underestimate the pace of global growth, which has led more companies to meet or beat analysts? earnings expectations than in any quarter in 20 years, according to calculations earlier this week by Credit Suisse. Fourth-quarter results for European companies in the STOXX 600 index are expected to increase 14.6 percent from a year ago, while the blended earnings growth estimate for the S&P 500 is 15 percent, Thomson Reuters data shows. Since a market rout was sparked two weeks ago on fears of rising inflation and its impact on interest rates, a tug of war has ensued between investors seeking safety in bonds or betting a nine-year bull market in stocks is still alive. Investors also are concerned about how the Federal Reserve will deal with still-low inflation without killing an economy and inflate asset bubbles, Michael Arone ? the chief investment strategist at Boston-based State Street Global Advisors ? said. ?That?s a very difficult spot. The market recognizes that challenge and is wondering how the Fed will address it,? he said. But investors are getting comfortable with the idea that growth is sufficient enough to withstand the expected rate increases the Fed has projected this year as well as signs of rising inflation, Arone said. MSCI?s index of stock markets across the globe rose 0.26 percent to gain 4.3 percent for the week, the best weekly performance since December 2011. Stocks were poised for their best week in six years until news of the special counsel indictment pared some gains. The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index of leading regional shares rose 1.11 percent to 1,491.71. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 19.01 points (0.08 percent) to 25,219.38. The S&P 500 gained 1.02 points (0.04 percent) to 2,732.22 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 16.97 points (0.23 percent) to 7,239.47. Investors are trying to determine whether the market is in an overdue correction or the beginning of something worse, Arone said. ?It looks like this week they?re comfortable about uncertainty and the risks that are associated with it, and stocks are moving higher based on fundamentals,? he said. US Treasury prices rose as investors bought back bonds after a sell-off earlier in the week as investor jitters over rising inflation raised the possibility the Federal Reserve may hike interest rates at a faster pace than expected this year. Borrowing costs across the euro area fell, though the prospect of higher inflation and a move toward tighter monetary policy from major central banks weighed on sentiment across world bond markets. Short-dated bond yields in Germany ? the euro zone?s benchmark bond issuer ? have risen by about 7 basis points this week and are set for their biggest weekly rise in eight weeks. Benchmark 10-year US Treasury notes rose 6/32 in price to push their yield down to 2.8713 percent. The dollar rose on the day but remained on track to post its biggest weekly loss in nine months as negative sentiment offset any support the greenback had from higher Treasury yields. The dollar index ? tracking a basket of major currencies ? rose 0.58 percent, with the euro down 0.81 percent to $1.2404. The Japanese yen weakened 0.18 percent versus the greenback at 106.33 per dollar. Oil prices rose, as the rebound in the global equities market and the dollar?s recent weakness supported their recovery from last week?s slide. US West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery rose 34 cents to settle at $61.68 a barrel. Brent settled up 51 cents at $64.84. US April gold futures settled up $0.9, or 0.1 percent, at $1,356.20 per ounce.
  9. Kim Kardashian doesn't need any introductions. She's 37 and a mother of three kids, but she still manages to look hotter than all of us combined. Everyone says she 'doesn't have any talent' and is 'famous for just being famous' but she sure knows how to work around the whole nudity policy on Instagram, and in my eyes that is just pure talent. Case in point – the latest picture she's posted on her Instagram account. Just a simple caption, because the picture speaks for itself. Also, please notice the creative way of dodging the nudity guidelines. 10. KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal has said that a three-member committee has been formed to probe the suspected extrajudicial killing of Naseemullah alias Naqeebullah, a 27-year-old from South Waziristan. "The committee will present its report within three days," the home minister said, during his appearance on Geo News' show 'Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath'. He said the inquiry committee has the concerned station house officer (SHO) removed from his post. Siyal urged that anyone having any information on the case should appear before the committee. "I assure that if Naqeebullah is found innocent, then action will be taken against responsible individuals." He maintained that his party does not support a person who is proven guilty in an inquiry. The home minister said that the three officers inducted in the committee bear good repute, adding that he will try to meet father of Naseemullah. If Rao Anwar fails to satisfy the committee, then he too will not remain on his post, he said. Commenting on Intezar murder case, Siyal said a judicial commission has been formed for investigations into the case. "An inquiry is being conducted as to why were plain-clothed personnel present on the spot where the murder took place," he said.
  11. ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that Sindh Inspector General of Police AD Khawaja will continue on his post. The directions were given during the hearing of the Sindh government's plea challenging an order of the Sindh High Court (SHC) which ruled in September last year that Khawaja would continue as the provincial police chief. During the hearing of the provincial government's appeal, the three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justices Umar Ata Bandiyal and Ijazul Ahsan, restrained the federal government from replacing Khawaja. Sindh government renews efforts to replace IGP AD Khawaja Provincial government suggests three names to replace incumbent police chief The court ruled that any move of the federal government to transfer the IG will have no effect. The IG will also have complete authority to order transfers and postings in the province, the court observed. Moreover, the bench ordered to uphold the SHC order. On September 7 last year, the SHC had dismissed the provincial government's order removing Khawaja and ordered that he complete his due term. Sindh IG AD Khawaja to continue on post, rules SHC IG AD Khawaja had been removed by the provincial govt earlier this year On April 3, the court had dismissed the provincial government?s decision to remove the Sindh police chief after a group of activists approached the SHC challenging his controversial removal. On October 30, Sindh government had challenged the SHC decision in the Supreme Court. On January 10, the federal cabinet approved the Sindh government's request to post Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as the new IG, according to sources. Since last year, the Sindh government has been attempting to replace Khawaja with an officer of 'its choice'.
  12. BEIJING: Carrie Gracie, the China editor for Britain?s public broadcaster, the BBC, has resigned from her post in Beijing due to pay disparities with her male colleagues, according to an open letter she wrote. The BBC has come under fire recently for paying male employees more and has pledged to close the gender gap by 2020. In July, it revealed as part of a funding settlement with the government that it paid its then top male star five times more than its best-paid female presenter, and that two-thirds of on-air employees earning at least 150,000 pounds ($203,500) were men. Gracie said there was a 'crisis of trust' at BBC, where she has worked for 30 years. Photo: Guardian In a letter published on her personal blog on Sunday, Gracie said there was a ?crisis of trust? at the broadcaster, where she has worked for 30 years, and that it was ?breaking equality law and resisting pressure for a fair and transparent pay structure?. The BBC had four international editors, two men and two women, of which she was one, she said. When the BBC revealed top salaries as part of last year?s settlement, Gracie said she learned that the two men made at least 50 per cent more money than the women in those roles. She said she had since been offered a pay increase that remained ?far short of equality? and left her post in Beijing last week, returning to her former job in the BBC TV newsroom. ?The BBC must admit the problem, apologise and set in place an equal, fair and transparent pay structure,? she said, calling for an independent arbitration to settle individual cases at the broadcaster. The BBC cited a BBC spokeswoman as saying that ?fairness in pay? at the corporation is ?vital?, and that an audit of pay for rank and file staff led by an independent judge found there was ?no systemic discrimination against women?.

  14. RAWALPINDI: The Indian Army violated the ceasefire along the working boundary on Thursday targeting innocent civilians, according to the ISPR. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) branch of the Pakistan Army claimed three civilians were injured due to the unprovoked Indian firing in the Zafarwal sector. 15. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Mamnoon Hussain. Photo: AFP/File Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed solidarity with Pakistan in light of the recent threats by US President Donald Trump. In a telephone call to President Mamnoon Hussain Wednesday night, Erdogan expressed concern over Trump's statement against Pakistan. The Pak-US row stems from Trump?s New Year Eve tweet in which he said the US had foolishly given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years. ?They have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking our leaders as fools,? Trump had stated. Erdogan assured Hussain that Turkey will stand by Pakistan in any situation. The Turkish president said Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Thanking his Turkish counterpart, Hussain expressed his gratitude and said that Pakistan is a responsible country and will respond to the US administration appropriately. China also expressed solidarity with Pakistan following Trump's tweet and the US move to hold back $225 million in aid.
  16. Ever since making his international debut in 2013, Mohammed Shami has arguably become Team India's bowling spearhead across all formats. Shami's success can be attributed to his pace, accuracy and primarily his skills in moving the ball - both old and new. He was also India's leading fast bowler in the 2015 World Cup when the Indian team marched into the semi-finals picking up 77 out of 80 wickets on offer. And, the fact that the 27-year-old played through that tournament and the preceding series against Australia - essentially four months - through a knee injury, highlights his commitment to the team. But, despite his contributions to the game, Shami continues to cut a sorry figure for the Islamic hardliners - the self-appointed gatekeepers of morality and religion. His innocent and secular New Year wish for his followers has ridiculously sparked a controversy which has attracted a lot of hate comments both on Twitter and Facebook. The right-handed bowler took to Facebook and wished his fans a Happy New Year through the picture of a beautifully decorated 'Shiva Ling' (an iconic representation of the Hindu deity Shiva) before deleting it on Twitter. He shared the photo with a caption that read: "As the new year renews all the happiness and good tidings, hope the joyful spirit keeps glowing in your heart forever! Happy New Year 2018 to you and your family". While many appreciated Shami for proving no religion was bigger than humanity, others (mainly Muslim zealots) wasted no time in hurling abuses at the Indian speedster before questioning his religious values. In 2016, Shami was slammed in similar fashion after he shared a photo of his wife Haseen Jahan who was seen wearing a sleeveless outfit. His Facebook post garnered over 1,500 comments saw some fans preaching moral values and reminding Shami of his religious beliefs. One comment in particular stood out, "sharam karo sar ap ek muslim ho bibi ko parde me rakho aur kuch sikho amla ali aur bhi bahut saro sr", which roughly translates to – “Have some shame sir, you are a Muslim, keep your wife covered and try to learn from (Hashim) Amla, (Moeen) Ali and others”. Even when he shared pictures of his daughter's birthday party in July this year, the traditionalists didn't shy away from posting regressive comments before embarking on moral policing regarding his wife's decision of not to wear a hijab in the picture. “Sad to see your wife without hijab. my dear shami sir do not look at the smallness of the sin, rather look at the one whom you are disobeying,” a comment read with the hashtag #GoToHell.

  18. Members of a police special operations unit gather outside a post office, where a man took people hostage, in Kharkiv, Ukraine December 30, 2017. REUTERS KHARKIV: Ukrainian police on Saturday freed the remaining hostages being held in a post office by an man believed to be strapped with explosives, and arrested the hostage taker after an hours-long standoff in the city of Kharkiv. ?All hostages freed in Kharkiv. The assailant was arrested,? President Petro Poroshenko wrote on Twitter, while Interior Minister Arsen Avakov published a picture of the man, with blood streaming down his face, being held by a policeman. None of the hostages were harmed. A Reuters witness saw special force police in green camouflage rushing to the entrance of the post office, a yellow-and-white building at a road junction in the northeastern city near the Russian border. In earlier statements, police said the man had entered the post office wearing a mask and taken 11 people hostage with the intention of robbing the place. Five of the hostages -- three women and two children -- were released early. Regional police chief Oleg Bekh told reporters the man had a history of antisocial behavior and drug-related offences. ?He probably needs the help of a psychiatrist,? Bekh said. ?During the detention, he received minor injuries. He was not in a normal state ... the hostages said he was drinking alcohol.? Police were able to enter the building after one of the hostages opened the door for them, Kharkiv regional prosecutor Yuriy Danylchenko told reporters. Police earlier said they had been in contact with the man via the telephones of the hostages, describing his manner as calm and not making any demands. Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Avakov, said employees at the post office and customers had been among the hostages. One of them had managed to call the police from inside the building. ?The patrolmen came to the place of the robbery in a few minutes,? Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook. ?The robber realized that he could not now safely leave the crime scene with the loot and he decided to declare that he was taking everyone hostage.? One of the children released by the hostage taker told local media that the man had put explosives into two bottles and threatened to blow himself up if police did not listen to him. The man also said he had brain cancer, according to the child. The man at one point voiced concern about the recent prisoner exchange between the Ukrainian authorities and pro-Russian separatists and thought more prisoners should have been released, police said. Ukraine and the separatists swapped hundreds of prisoners on Wednesday in the biggest such exchange since the outbreak of a conflict in the eastern Donbass region that has killed more than 10,000 people.
  19. KIEV: A man believed to be carrying explosives is holed up in a post office in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, police spokesman Yaroslav Trakalo told the news channel 112 on Saturday. ?His demands are unknown to us,? 20. Sania Mirza is one name in the world of Tennis that needs no introduction. Besides making India proud, she has also stamped her mark in the international arena as a badass woman. There is a certain air the former World No. 1 (in women's doubles) carries that every time she enters the court, our hearts skip a beat in excitement. But, not many know that Mirza can serve humour, sarcasm and wit off-the court; just as good as she serves inside the court and her lit Instagram account is proof. When you get to see two legends in a single frame, there is nothing else that can divert your attention, but in a post shared by Sania Mirza, it's actually her hilarious captions that steal the show and gives a whole new meaning to the picture. That's exactly what happened, when she recently shared a picture with ace Tennis player Roger Federer. Caption this ð Pssttt- Roger ,the Hyderbadi biryani is a lot better than the butter chicken ð¤·ð½âï¸ð @rogerfederer A post shared by Sania Mirza (@mirzasaniar) on Dec 22, 2017 at 3:04am PST While seeking her fans' advice to caption the picture, she gave her two cents on what she thinks of the picture, which took no time to break the internet. Well, when it's a choice between butter chicken and Hyderabadi biryani, who will have time to look at anything else. Soon enough, people started giving hilarious captions to the picture, however it was 'Haider' actress Tabu, who stole the show with her comment. She wrote, “Of course Sania! After all, it's the birthplace of you and Tabu!! Has to have better food!” This is not the first time that Sania has blown us away with her wit. 21. Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe testifies before a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, US, June 7, 2017. REUTERS/Aaron P. Bernstein/Files WASHINGTON: The FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe plans to retire next year, after months of criticism from Republicans in Congress and President Donald Trump, the Washington Post reported on Saturday. The newspaper said McCabe plans to retire in a few months after he becomes eligible for his full pension, citing ?people familiar with the matter.? The Post reported that McCabe will not become eligible for his full benefits until early March and that he plans to retire as soon as he does. A spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation declined to comment. Republicans in Congress have criticized McCabe and accused him of harbouring bias against Trump. Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, a Republican, told reporters this week that he would like McCabe out of the FBI. McCabe was interviewed behind closed doors on Tuesday by the House Intelligence Committee, which is conducting one of the main congressional investigations into Russia, the 2016 U.S. election and whether Trump?s election campaign colluded with Moscow. He also appeared for a closed-door interview on Thursday with the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees after Republicans asked him to discuss the bureau?s handling of a probe into Hillary Clinton?s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state. McCabe served as acting director of the FBI after Trump fired former FBI director James Comey in May. In a tweet in July, Trump asked why his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, did not replace McCabe, who Trump described as Comey?s friend. The FBI is part of the Justice Department. Trump tweeted this month that the FBI?s reputation ?is in Tatters.? ?FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is racing the clock to retire with full benefits. 90 days to go?!!!? Trump tweeted on Saturday. The Republican-led House Judiciary and Oversight committees announced in October they were launching new investigations into a number of long-standing political grievances, including concerns over the FBI?s handling of the Clinton email investigation. Republicans have said they want to get to the bottom of why Comey publicly discussed the Clinton investigation and announced that the bureau would not seek to bring charges. Critics say the Republicans? focus on Clinton is merely a tactic to distract from Special Counsel Robert Mueller?s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Moscow has denied any such activity, and Trump has dismissed talk of possible collusion as a ?witch hunt? led by Democrats disappointed about his election victory.

The Pakistan Post has issued a commemorative postage of Rs8 denomination to pay tribute to the celebrated German-Pakistani doctor, Dr Ruth Pfau, who dedicated her life to fighting leprosy in Pakistan. Last month, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had also authorised the issuance of a commemorative coin in honour of the late humanitarian. The State Bank of Pakistan was authorised to issue 50,000 commemorative coins of Rs50 each in recognition of Dr Pfau?s service. The German-Pakistani doctor breathed her last after a prolonged illness on August 10, 2017, at a private hospital in Karachi. She was 87. Dr Pfau is the second person to be accorded a state funeral in 29 years, with the last one offered for late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi in 2016. ?The entire nation is indebted to Ruth Pfau for her selfless and unmatched services for the eradication of leprosy. We are proud of her exemplary services and she will remain in our hearts as a shining symbol in times ahead," Prime Minister Abbasi had said. It was due to her endless struggle that Pakistan defeated the disease and became leprosy-free in 1996. She was granted Pakistani citizenship in 1988 and received numerous accolades for her services, including the country's top civilian awards Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Pakistan.

Whether it's his explosive batting or aggressive captaincy, the Indian captain continues to grow his fanbase in almost every corner of the world. Kohli was the only Indian included in the Forbes' list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes where he was placed at the 88th spot. He was also included among the most marketable athletes of 2017, leaving behind the likes of Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.
