  1. A wild wolf has been found in the northern Belgian region of Flanders for the first time in more than a century, an environmental group said Saturday. Photo: AFP file BRUSSELS: A wild wolf has been found in the northern Belgian region of Flanders for the first time in more than a century, an environmental group said Saturday. "Our country was the only one in continental Europe to have not been visited by a wolf," since the animal began recolonising the continent, Landschap said. Overhunting, industrialisation and urban sprawl progressively led to the disappearance of the wolf from most of Western Europe since the beginning of the 20th century. Since the Bern Convention of 1979, the wolf has gone from public enemy to a protected species as "a fundamental element of our natural European heritage". In some countries, like Romania and Poland where there have always been wolves, people adapt to treat an attack on sheep "like an accident, like a flock that falls into a ravine", says Farid Benhammou, a specialist on predators. But in the new zones of wolf colonisation ? in France and in some regions of Italy and Spain ? there are major tensions, with farmers particularly unhappy at their re-emergence. The wolf detected in Flanders in early January had an electronic tracker collar around its neck which allowed it to be identified as coming from neighbouring Germany. The same animal had been spotted around Christmas in the Netherlands, according to Landschap. "In recent days the wolf has stayed near the Flemish town of Beringen and the military base at Leopoldsburg. The animal has covered 500 kilometres (300 miles) in ten days," the group said. In 2011 hidden cameras picked up images at night of what was very likely a wolf in the Ardennes region of southern Belgium. But without any DNA traces, or any further appearances, the sighting could not be confirmed. Groups in support of biodiversity welcomed the latest news of a wolf detected in Belgium, calling on the government to adopt a strategy to encourage the return of the species to the country on a more permanent basis, including compensation to farmers whose livestock are attacked.
  2. 'The Wolf of Wall Street' is one of the best movies ever made for many reasons. Of course, anything that is directed by Martin Scorsese HAS to be iconic, but it was also the stellar cast and their insane dedication to the script that made this movie a true class act. © Reuters Margot Robbie had been in the Hollywood scene for quite some time, doing independent movies and even a soap opera between 2008 and 2011, but what followed next shot her fame to the stars and her true career really began. © Reuters She was then presented with an opportunity that most actors would gladly sell a limb for—starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the Scorsese directed 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. After nailing her audition like a boss, she was cast as the sexy AF Naomi Lapaglia in the 2013 film, after which the 27-year-old's career soared. © Twitter However, you will be surprised to know that Margot, who oozed sheer confidence every time she came on screen, was actually not sure if she was good enough for the heavy role. © Pinterest “"I was just terrified that people would see the movie and think 'eugh! She's not that great'. When I was playing Naomi in The Wolf of Wall Street it was so high-tempo sexy. I was acutely aware that the line in the screenplay was 'the hottest blonde ever' – I'm clearly not the hottest blonde ever," she said in an interview last October. © screenmusings Now I am sure many of you just want to run to her and tell her how wrong she is, Margot also revealed the mind-blowing fact that she actually changed a small detail in one of the scenes. A small chance that made the scene iconic. Remember when she appeared in the doorway, completely naked in nothing but thigh-high stockings and heels in an attempt to further seduce the already weakening DiCaprio? (If you don't, you deserve the most painful death). That was HER idea! © Paramount Apparently, Scorsese told Margot that she can wear a bath robe, but she flatly refused to do that. Speaking to the Telegraph, she explains why she went fully nude. "The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn't. She has to be naked. She's laying her cards on the table." © Paramount She sure looked confident as hell, and she sure knocked the wind out of both Leonardo and everyone on the planet. But she had her own fears as well. "I just flat out lied to my family for a really long time. I said, 'I don't care what you hear, there is no nudity, I'm not doing any nudity. Ignore anything anyone's saying, there is no nudity'. And then I thought, 'Well, the movie's going to come out and they'll see there's nudity', so I changed that. The lie evolved to, 'Well actually it's a body double, and they just CGI-ed my head onto someone else'. "My family don't have anything to do with the entertainment industry so they totally bought it. They were like, 'They can do that?' And I was like, 'Oh, technology these days, you wouldn't believe what they do in Hollywood'," she said in an interview to Jimmy Kimmel. via GIPHY Well, if you need to keep lying to your family to scorch our eyeballs, then by all means continue doing so Margot Robbie!
  3. What if I told you I met a mind reader? Would you believe me? I would never have believed if someone had told me that. But, that was until about a week ago. Then, I met Mohit Rao, a mind reader, mentalist and a corporate entertainer who runs a show called Se7en. He can read your mind, control your thoughts and even influence your decisions. Clearly, Mohit Rao is a force to reckon with and someone you should never mess with, ever. © Facebook After finishing his MBA, Mohit worked in the marketing team of one of India’s largest IT Companies and had a regular 9 to 5 job. Then, one day, an interesting conversation changed everything. "At a party, I met this psychiatrist who said to me, ‘Don't think of an elephant!’ Then said ‘Don't think of two elephants’, and then he said ‘Don't think of two elephants which are pink in colour!’ And that’s exactly what I was thinking of!” Mohit says. “It made me wonder how somebody else can tell me what to think of and that’s when and how I began my journey into the subconscious mind.” Mohit read books, scoured the internet and reached out to people across the globe to try and better understand how the mind works. He even decided to quit his full time job and there was no looking back, henceforth. Almost 5 years down the line, Mohit says it’s been a very rewarding journey for him—emotionally, financially and professionally. “To be able to motivate people from all walks of life is truly, exhilarating,” he says. Mohit is often seen performing at various high profile events that are organized by Reliance, the Royal Challengers’ IPL team and so on. While it is an entertainment show at its core, Mohit’s tricks inspire people by helping them to believe in the power of their mind. And interestingly enough, in his line of work, Mohit strikes a fine balance between entertainment and mindfulness. “Initially, the show began as pure entertainment,” he tells me. “But it is more about my understanding of how to use our mind to its fullest potential.” Over time, Mohit realized that the through his entertainment, he could also motivate the audience he drew. “I could help them aspire to greater heights in their lives.” © Facebook So What Goes Into The Art Of Mindreading? “There are many sciences that go into mindreading and the likes,” informs Mohit. Psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnosis, Body Language reading, Dream analysis and a significant amount of showmanship is required to pull off the act with enough confidence as authenticity. But the biggest secret, Mohit reveals, is to string it all together and present it in a way that hooks the audience's attention for a good 45 minutes. Mohit’s audience is always left with a feeling of amazement and wonder, laced with the reminder that we all have the ability to achieve our wildest dreams, if we put our mind to it. “Mindreading requires tremendous practice and skill, but what works for me more than anything is a certain God-given skill that helps me do what I do.” He sounds like a character straight out of the classic Christian Bale-Hugh Jackman starrer, 'The Prestige'. Only, he isn’t a magician, at all. He just knows the art of unlocking areas of the mind that we, as normal human beings, did not know existed. Getting a person into the right frame of mind is the key, adds Mohit. “Music makes it easier for me to read what someone is thinking”, he reveals. “However, during the show, while I have used music in parts, I prefer to use silence, instead.” Pin-drop silence he says, is sometimes far more powerful as a tool to create mystery and drama, than music. “I also tell a lot of personal stories because people always want to know the genesis of these skills in my life,” Mohit adds. He shares one such personal story with us. “About a year ago, I decided that I wanted to drive a car blindfolded, reading the mind of the person next to me,” he starts. And to add some level of excitement to the experience, Mohit and his team invited two taxi drivers to sit in the passengers’ seats. “Their reactions were priceless,” he reveals. Mohit even uploaded the video footage from the stunt on his website for all to see. But, that’s not even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Mohit’s bravery, or as some might call it, daredevilry. Mohit is known to have been the one to predict exact closing of the BSE Sensex on live national television, to the point where he has now been debarred from participating in the stock market. The incident led to him being called the Wolf Of Dalal Street. “A conversation with my father put me on a path to try and predict that,” he tells me. The evening before the prediction, Mohit went to a lawyer to check on the precautions to be taken. “His advice to me was to add it to the show, but not invest in equities myself and not give any tips or guidance, ever,” Mohit says. While predicting the BSE Sensex was a phenomenal feat and put Mohit on the radar for a lot of reasons, according to him, it was all about achieving the impossible. “Anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” he quips confidently. What Mohit wants above all is that India develop to its full potential and if mindreading, hypnotism and telepathy help his audiences realize their visions, then his job is half done. “Last year, Prime Minister Modi spoke about trying to make India a developed nation in one generation,” he remembers. “For me, as a patriotic, this is a really worthy vision to strive for.”
  4. Yesterday was a heavy day for any GOT fan. First the news about the beloved ‘Ghost’ being dead in real life floated around and left all of us devastated. We love Jon Snow and everything related to thing so this was kind of a big deal. In loving memory of the real life Ghost from the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. He passed this week & he will be missed. R.I.P pic.twitter.com/FHGRpagEiC — George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) May 23, 2017 However, today George R.R Martin clarified and healed our wounded hearts because apparently the beloved wolf is alive. Clarification, this was the wolf rescued by Wild Spirt and dubbed Ghost. NOT the wolf who plays Ghost on the show. https://t.co/SesDFCWBjc — George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) May 23, 2017 All is well in the world now. On the other hand, the makers added colour to our lives when the trailer for the next season dropped. Life is on hold and please wake me up on July 16 now.
