Movies have been an integral part of most of our lives.
If you've spent your lifetime cribbing about never getting to watch good movies, it is the right time to visit the nearest DVD store because you won't be around for too long. 2012 is close on your heels which is why you should grab the below listed moves and be a part of the history of international cinema.
Here are 10 Hollywood movies you must watch before you die.
The Godfather Trilogy
'The Godfather' trilogy takes you into the world of gangsters through the combined brilliance of Francis Ford Coppola, Al Pacino and Mario Puzo.
Star Quote: "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
The Shawshank Redemption
The highlight of this movie is the simplistic yet endearing take on human relationships. It might not entirely influence you to alter the way you live your life but will definitely help you realize the importance of building healthy relationships.
Star Quote: "I guess it comes down to a simple choice. Get busy living or get busy dying."
This is the ultimate guy movie which shows how two men build an almost global 'organisation' of sorts for people to vent out their anger and frustration. The pulsating movement of the plot will keep you glued till the 'end of time'.
Star Quote: "This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time"
Another story of an angry young man played by the insanely talented Robert De Niro. It deals with the rise and fall of a temperamental boxer whose personal life becomes a wreck because of the same temper.
Star Quote: "If you win, you win. If you lose, you still win"
Believe us when we say this movie will take you on a roller-coaster ride. It revels in violence, profanity and generous use of drugs, while the speed, that is crucial to the movie, will definitely make your head spin. Watch Quentin Tarantino prove why he is the boss in making movies that almost always have a cult following.
Star Quote: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.."
Saving Private Ryan
Watching this movie is bound to be a heart-breaking experience as it explores the uncharted perils of war. Also, you don't actually need a reason to watch a Steven Speilberg film starring Tom Hanks, do you?
Star Quote: "I'll need a wheelchair before this war is over."
Yet another movie by Francis Ford Coppola, 'Apocalypse Now' is considered by many to be the best war movie ever made. An adaptation of Joseph Conrad's novel, this movie is truly 'a vision of hell' owing to the darkness of theme and action. It is also counted amongst the best movies ever made.
Star Quote: "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn’t find one of ‘em, not one stinkin’ dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like… victory. Someday this war’s gonna end…"
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
We're really hoping you've read the book. If you haven't, you probably don't know the significance of this in the list. Just like the book, the movie leaves quite an impact on the viewer. Be a art of the experience that so many people treasure, before you die.
Star Quote: "Why don't ya shut your goddamn mouth and play some music?"
Another Martin Scorsese film makes the cut. Dealing with the life of a gangster, this movie was a classic in this genre. In fact, it was considered a benchmark in the '90s and was hugely lauded in various award ceremonies.
Star Quote: "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster"
The Gold Rush
You cannot possibly go to your grave without watching a Charlie Chaplin movie, can you? 'The Gold Rush' is a quintessential Charlie Chaplin film, complete with some great comic and emotional moments. An added advantage of watching this movie would be that you could surely have something to discuss about in case you meet him in heaven.
Star Quote: You do know Charlie Chaplin's movies were made in the silent era, right?
P.S. The author has deliberately avoided the inclusion of movies like 'Star Wars', 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, The 'Rocky' series, etc because she assumes that you've already seen this movies. (Special Features, MensXP.com)

There’s good news for those sitting on the edge of their seats for the most awaited tech announcement of the year - the Nokia 3310 is back and you’re going to love it! The new Nokia parent, HMD Global announced the device at MWC 2017, held in Barcelona, earlier this evening along with their new smartphones Nokia 6, 5 and 3.
The contemporary 3310 is going to be powered by the brand’s home grown Nokia Series 30 OS and is going to let you talk for up to 22 hours straight. The basic phone comes with a 2-mega pixel camera and is available in four peppy colour variants— dark blue, yellow, grey and red.
But wait, there’s more - if playing Snake was your pastime of choice, you’re going to have to get your hands on this handset because it also features a modern version of the very addictive game.
Here's a video introduction to the new 3310:

Whether the considerably thinner phone will live up to the sturdiness of its predecessor is yet to be ascertained, but the classic design is bound to be a hit with many.
Enthusiasts won’t have to wait long as the 3310 is expected to hit global markets in the second quarter of 2017. Fingers crossed!
Just like India and Pakistan, Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi share a rivalry like no other in international cricket. No one can possibly forget their explosive on-field exchange which had set the tempers soaring during the 3rd ODI between India and Pakistan at Kanpur in 2007.
While Gambhir is potentially out of contention of making the Team India cut, Afridi has already called time on his career. But, despite being away from international cricket, their rivalry transcended off the field after the former Pakistani cricketer publicly claimed that he will never be seen hanging out with the Delhi opener.
The present-day scenario is no different and there is no love lost between the two cricketers. On 3 April, when Afridi was battling serious backlash from the Indians following his insensitive comments on the ongoing dispute in Kashmir, the Delhi Daredevils (DD) captain wasted no time in taking a pot shot at his old nemesis.
Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What's there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!
— Gautam Gambhir (@GautamGambhir) April 3, 2018
Taking to Twitter, Gambhir wrote: "Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What's there to say? Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?
— Shahid Afridi (@SAfridiOfficial) April 3, 2018
Earlier in the day, Afridi became the subject of immense criticism for his insensitive tweet about Kashmir where he labelled Indian army as an "oppressive regime". "Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?," he tweeted.
Afridi's tweet was in reference to the series of counter-insurgency operations in three different areas of South Kashmir on Sunday. Indian armed forces handed a major setback to the terror groups in the Valley. A total of 12 terrorists were gunned down in what turned out to be one of the biggest counter-offensives against terrorist outfits in recent times in Kashmir.
The operations rendered a severe blow to terror groups such as Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, but it sadly came at a cost of five lives. Two civilians and three Army jawans lost their lives during the gruelling operations. While the details on how or why the two civilians were killed isn't revealed, the demise of the three Army soldiers once again highlighted the never-ending sacrifices they make to keep us safe.
It kickstarts tomorrow-the suitcases are packed; some of us are already in Guwahati and the rest are on their way there. The excitement is brimming. We simply cannot wait for NH7 Weekender Shillong 2016. And what a lineup they have in store, too.
Yes, it's humanly quite impossible for you to check out each and every act that's going to be happening during the two-day festival amid the quaintness of the hills. But, you can be prepared and shortlist a bunch of artists to take out time for specially. And that's where we come in. Shillong is a city that has long been due on the NH7 Weekender map and it's finally here. So, while you do get to check out the more mainstream artists at regular gigs in the metropolitan cities back home, you don't usually get to check out the lesser known ones that are equally good. That's what Weekender Shillong 2016 is for; so you get the best of the lesser-known lot.
Wondering which artists are definitely worth a shot? These are on our list.
Ever heard of Porcupine Tree? The US Band? The song 'Lazarus'? Yeah, that's why you think Steven Wilson "looks familiar". He's actually quite the big deal. Only, this is his first in India. He's performing as part of his Hand. Cannot. Erase tour that kickstarted this month and that's how he's on the NH7 Weekender bandwagon and we (fans, that is) could not be happier. You can expect a lot of quality rock music from this guy and we would like to see him give us some Porcupine Tree throwbacks while at it. Hashtag "Can't Wait".
If you haven't heard 'Everything You Want', go listen to it right now and then come back to this. The American alternative rock band owes a lot of their following to this one song from '99, the album of the same name. Plus, they've given us hit songs like 'Best I Ever Had' and 'You're A God'. You need to listen to this the way you listen to Indie legendary musicians for feels.
The London-based alternative band is better known by their former name, Ex-Lion Tamers. Post the name-change in 2009, they've given us two significant albums to rock out to-Over Time and Deep Dive. Wild Palms have been on a touring spree ever since their latest albums, Live Together and Eat Each Other and it's going to be one heck of an experience to hear them live and loud at the Shillong leg of Weekender; least to say, you're going to return with a refreshing playlist that I'm going to want to peek into.
Parekh & Singh
Closer home, we have Nishchay Parekh and Jivraj Singh who have been making waves with their latest and debut album Oceans. Precisely, one track, 'I Love You Baby, I Love You Doll' has taken the duo from Kolkata to New York and beyond. It's been a while since Nishchay gave us some sound melodies to tune into and, as an enthusiastic follower of the musician, I'm actually relieved and pleasantly impressed by the latest single that's got everyone humming in the circuit. You couldn't have not heard it, you know.
Not everyone knows about Kumail Hamid, one of the most talented electronic musicians India has seen rise in recent times. It's probably because he seems to keep things pretty low key, even for an electronic artist in a country that has a relatively small circuit of such musicians. But that's exactly what intrigues you about Hamid, first off. All of 22, the Mumbai-based music producer has already released two EPs and an album, during his 6-year journey in the industry. He's one of the newer and more interesting electronic artists to look out for at Shillong this time.
The three-member band came under the spotlight when earlier this year they won the Road To Converse Rubber Tracks contest. The members are three brothers whose musical sensibilities are in perfect synchronization-be it punk rock, soft rock, blues or pop. If they feel the music, they create it. They're young, they have energy about their music and live performances and they're worth a watch if you want to check out the newer artists on the Weekender radar this year.
The Shilllong-based boy band is a favourite in the town and with Weekender as their "Other Stage", you can rest assured that their blues tracks will give you the right kind of mountain feels. A young boy band, founded in early 2010, by El Nathan Ford Nongrum, Gregory Ford Nongrum, Shepherd and Daryl Diengdoh, takes its inspirations from legends like Frank Zappa, Ray Charles, B. B King, Simon and Garfunkel and David Gilmour, amongst others.
When The Supersonics split, they gave rise to The Ritornellos-a Kolkata-based band that derive their musical genius from their ardent love for rock 'n' roll. The six-member band comprises of ex-The Supersonics' lead, Ananda Sen who remains the vocalist as well as Avinash Chordia who is the band's drummer. They'll be bringing down the Bacardi House Party in Shillong on Day 1 and it's absolutely not worth missing.
Drawing massive influences from his grandfather, singer-songwriter, Bipul Chettri made the crowds listen up with his debut album Sketches of Darjeeling, in 2014. Ever since, he has been a voice worth keeping an ear open for. This year, he gave us his follow-up album, titled Maya and he's going to be performing at the Shillong leg of Weekender. Why you shouldn't miss him? It's pretty simple. Chettri's performances, especially international ones have been major frontliners and if there's one thing we look forward to at Weekender, it's good refreshing music for the soul.
Elephant In The Elevator
Amid all the sprouting talent in the Indie music scene is one other band, Elephant In The Elevator. These guys came to be in 2015 and so are fairly new on the block. However, when you listen to their music, you'll know why and how they've realized their journey thus far at such short time span.

So, Anurag Kashyap has been in the headlines a lot recently and it’s not all straight forward because there have been twists and turns daily and the controversy is just going on and on. So, here is everything you need to know about it.
It all started with a tweet by Anurag Kashyap addressed to PM Modi asking him to apologise for his 2015 Pak visit.
@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
@narendramodi why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
His intention was to support Karan Johar on the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and indirectly react on the ban on Pakistani artists. His stance backfired and twiterrati was furious.
Anurag being the chilled out guy that he is, he didn’t react to any of the hate but when a media personnel tried to approach him to get a word on the issue, he leaked the screenshot of the WhatsApp chat with the media person and the screenshot even included the person’s number. He gave this vague caption to the image ‘There is the media outside my house when I am not there ….looking for headline’.
Later on, he deleted the post and clarified his initial tweet with this Facebook post:

Seems like Virender Sehwag is improving the Twitter game of his peers too! He’s been wishing everyone on birthdays since he made his debut on social media and on his birthday today, Harsha Bhogle returned the favor with this hilarious tweet.
Alag soch, alag lay, na jaana kabhi tumne bhay. Tarika aapka paisa vasool, saalgirah ki duaen kijiye kubool. @virendersehwag
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) October 19, 2016
Sehwag, being a master twitterati himself, tweeted back to Harsha with this.
Kubool hai, Kubool hai Bhogle ji. Dhanyawaad aapki shubhkamnaon ke liye. Ek Harsha hai ,jiski Awaaz K liye janta tarsa hai. https://t.co/mzx1nA2Z7W

Of all the tweets on his birthday, this one stands out and it shows that he has some tough competition on twitter from a lot of his followers now!
When you board a plane, you have no idea about the passengers in there. A flight hoards a bunch of loud people, some wailing kids, the quiet lot which is seen snuggled with a book and a few other random varieties. But how many times have you witnessed a cute, two webbed feet quacking duck, wearing red shoes, strolling in the aisle?
Mark Essig, an American author who was flying from Charlotte to Asheville, took to Twitter to share his encounter with possibly one of the most adorable co-passengers—an emotional support duck.
My seatmate, CLT➡️AVL, is this handsome duck named Daniel. His gentle quacking eases the sadness of leaving #SFA16. pic.twitter.com/iDKWCceAFi

Daniel the duck is an Indian runner and a certified emotional support duck, and even wears a Captain America diaper!

Daniel kept going back to its owner to get his quick dose of love.

It’s not everyday that you get to see an affable duck checking into a flight after all.
