Anang Tadar,a class XI student came up with a brilliant innovation in an attempt to make the life of visually impaired people easy. His invention, a gadget called ‘Goggle For Blind’ (G4B), aims to help blind people detect objects around them without any physical contact. G4B will use the principle of ‘echolocation’ to achieve this.

Echolocation is the use of sound waves and echoes to determine where objects are in space. It is primarily used by bats to navigate and find food in the dark.

G4B even won the most innovative award in recently concluded Regional Level Science Festival at Regional Science centre at Guwahati and was awarded the Dinanath Pandey Smart Idea Innovation Award.

In the beginning of this month, he participated in the National Level Science Exhibition held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, where he was able to impress Honey Bee Network, which is in collaboration with the National Ignition Facility (NIF), Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions (SRISTI), Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) with his innovation.

Anang is currently working on creating a few prototypes to test on blind people as NIF and UNICEF want to launch G4B in the market. The newer model will be refined with the help of other builders as the original one is quite bulky.
