Virat Kohli's Reaction To Pandya-Rahul Controversy Is What Makes Him A Great Team Leader

At a time when the comments made by Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul at film director and actor Karan Johar's talk show, 'Koffee With Karan' have made for one of the most trending issues buzzing all around, a lot of people were wondering what the Indian skipper, VIrat Kohli, had to say about the whole matter.

After the 24-hour show cause notice levied by BCCI during which Pandya and Rahul were ordered to present their justification towards the indecent remarks made by the duo at the chat show, both the cricketers have been banned for two ODI matches upon the recommendations made by the Committee of Administrations Chairman, Vinod Rai.

In the latest occurrence, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, who had kept himself completely aloof of the whole issue, finally spoke on behalf of the entire squad.

“We, definitely, as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and that has been communicated,” Kohli said in a media coverage at the Sydney Cricket Ground ahead of the three-game ODI series against Australia. “I can definitely say that as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers we definitely don't align with those views and those are purely individual views.”

But the additional comments made by Kohli is what makes him a great team leader. In an atmosphere of high tension where everyone is shaming Pandya and Rahul, Virat while showing his disagreement to their comments, didn't abandon them.

“... the two concerned players felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what's happened,” Kohli didn't forget to mention. “Definitely, it has to hit anyone hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right.”

Kohli's take on the entire issue speaks volumes about his evolution as an aware captain. He feels responsible for his team both on and off the field and has been with them during the harshest of times.

Consecutively, the absence of the two extremely talented cricketers, especially the all-rounder in Hardik Pandya will leave a deep void in the roster, filling which will be a real task for the team.

Meanwhile, Hotstar, the mobile app broadcasting Karan Johar's show has taken down the episode featuring the vexed cricketing duo.
