  1. Salman Khan doesn't follow the set patterns of Bollywood's rulebook and you might agree with us on this. He doesn't care if his movies are not given great ratings by the film critics because according to him, it's the box office numbers that validate any film. Salman Khan's latest release 'Bharat', which is an official remake of the South Korean film 'Ode to My Father', has turned out to be a lucky project for the actor. The movie is doing pretty well at the domestic market and is inching close to earning Rs 200 crores. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics as some called it 'bland' and some termed it the perfect Eid blockbuster. But, none of these ratings affect our superstar, Salman Khan, in fact, he feels “scared” when critics praise his movies. In one of the group interviews, while promoting the movie, Salman said, “My validation comes from the box office collections... that the people have liked or not liked a film. It doesn't make a difference if someone (a critic) has given it so many stars (ratings) or ridiculed the film. It's their bread and butter. God bless them, give them two more (slices of) bread,” Salman said in a group interview. Asked how he feels when the critics give glorious reviews to his films, the actor said he is unable to wrap his head around it. To all the journalists who have interviewed me during #Bharat ... a big thank u to all... — Salman Khan (@BeingSalmanKhan) June 12, 2019 He added that he wants the audience to go to the theatres and forget about their life in general when they are watching his movies. Apart from Salman, 'Bharat' also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Nora Fatehi, Sunil Grover and Tabu. The movie chronicles important events that have taken place in the country after Independence. Have you seen 'Bharat'? Let us know in the comments below.
  2. Huawei was cut access to do business with American companies like Google, Qualcomm, Intel and other companies that collaborate with the Chinese company. The ban comes as a part of U.S. President's executive order amidst trade battles between the two countries. Having said that, according to Huawei, the company already has contingency plans in place to deal with the ban and the company's founder Ren Zhengfei has downplayed the impact it will have on the Chinese company. Supporting #Huawei does not necessarily mean you should buy a #Huawei smartphone. My family members use #Apple for a very long long time: Ren Zhengfei, founder of China's Huawei Technologies (Photo: Chen Qingqing/GT) pic.twitter.com/5rcrHJx3KR — Global Times (@globaltimesnews) May 21, 2019 Speaking to Chinese newspaper, the Global Times, Ren said that “In such a critical moment, I'm grateful to US companies, as they've contributed a lot to Huawei's development and showed their conscientiousness on the matter,” Ren says. “As far as I know, US companies have been making efforts to persuade the US government to let them cooperate with Huawei ... We always need US-developed chipsets, and we can't exclude American products with a narrow mind.” © Reuters On Saturday, Huawei tweeted “Lose-lose, Washington's decision to force U.S. companies to stop doing business with tech giant Huawei creates losers on both sides.” Ren also went on to say that trade restriction would not affect Huawei's 5G rollout and in fact, it would be detrimental for the US as other companies would not be able to catch up with Huawei's technology. "The current practice of US politicians underestimates our strength," Ren Zhengfei said, according to the transcripts from the interview. It seems like Huawei will remain unaffected for the time being even though the ban has been lifted temporarily for three months. The US Commerce Department temporarily lifted the ban on American businesses collaborating with Huawei so that software updates can continue on Huawei phones. The three-month lifting of the ban should give Huawei time to at least fight the ban and put forward its case to be removed from the Entity List. The US government currently deems the brand to be a threat to national security due to the government's claim of spying and stealing valuable information from American companies. Google blocked Huawei's access to its Android license on Sunday in compliance with President Trump's Executive order. Other companies like Qualcomm and Intel have also temporarily stopped business with the Chinese company until the ban has been lifted. The loss to Google's Android License means that future Huawei phones will not be able to sell devices running Google's proprietary services such as the Play Store, Youtube and other Google apps. However, Huawei says that the company has already built an alternative OS and is stockpiling hardware to tackle the current issue at hand. Source: Global Times
  3. Any Marvel fan would agree that end-credit scenes are an integral part of Marvel Cinematic Universe. For over 10 years, we've all sat through really, really long credits, just to get a few seconds of something more. Yes, they have been very important ever since Nick Fury showed up at the end of 'Iron Man' to talk to Tony Stark about the Avengers initiative. Since then, end-credit scenes have been instrumental in connecting 21 movies with each other and building an entire cinematic universe, that even Bollywood is trying to copy now. While not a single true fan would mind sitting for 15 minutes extra, this time we might not have to since it's being reported that 'Avengers: Endgame' will not have any end-credit scene. But tbh, I'm still not getting up from my seat until and unless all the credits are over because I don't trust the internet and of course, Marvel. I was actually a little disappointed after hearing this news at first because well, there won't be an iconic scene like the Earth's mightiest superheroes eating shawarmas after a big fight, but if you think about it, it actually makes sense. We've been calling this movie the end of an era for the longest time and giving the audience a scene about what's next doesn't really fit in well with that. Obviously, as the name suggests, this is the end, the culmination of 21 movies and it is all about finality. This is probably the last time we'll see everyone together and with the end of phase 3 of MCU, an end-credit scene would not really add to the movie in any way. Moreover, 'Endgame' will not just conclude the 'Infinity saga' but will also tie up the loose ends of each and every MCU movie that came before. It's basically like one big story coming to an end and that's why end-credits were crucial as a way to connect it all so effortlessly, but 'Endgame' doesn't have any need for it. So, as much as I have enjoyed all the end-credit scenes, it is perfectly okay for the Russo Brothers to give it a pass this time, because we already know the movie will be incredible in itself and we won't really need to look forward to what's next for some time.
  4. 'Games of Thrones' is literally everywhere now. It's everywhere on social media, it's taken over our YouTube sub boxes and it's all over the news portals too. It's clearly a great time to be 'Game of Thrones' fan. But what about those people who don't really care about the show? What if you don't care who gets killed and who sits on the Iron Throne? Yes, it's totally cool to be someone who doesn't care about 'Game of Thrones'. So, what to do when it's the only show everyone seems to be talking about and you want to watch something different? Well, don't worry! We've got you covered. Here are five other shows you can watch if you don't care about 'Game of Thrones' - 1. Vikings © History Channel 'Vikings' is a great show to watch if you don't really like 'Game of Thrones', but want to watch something with conquests and sword fights. The plot of 'Vikings' isn't as complicated to understand as, say, 'Game of Thrones', but there's still a lot to look forward to. It tells the tale of a Norse hero Ragnar Lothbrok on his journey to becoming a Scandinavian king. The story is set in a medieval era, and the show does a phenomenal job of representing it with costumes and sets. Also, the cast has done a commendable job and the character development is on point too. Where to watch: Netflix 2. Outlander © Netflix 'Outlander' is yet another period drama, which should definitely be on your watch list. It's based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon, and it follows a World War II nurse who finds a portal (yes, a portal to travel in time) to 1743 Scotland. It's a show which combines historic action and drama with some interesting tidbits of time travel. Unlike the 'Game of Thrones' series, the books are a quick read, which makes this show all the more interesting. If you end up missing something on the show or you feel like getting a better understanding of the things happening on the show, then it's very easy to catch up. Where to watch: Netflix 3. Westworld © HBO 'Westworld', when it came out back in 2016, was one of the most-discussed shows. Literally, it was everywhere. In case you don't know, it's a sci-fi series set in a futuristic theme park where celebrities and wealthy people show up to bring their wild west fantasies to life. We're two seasons in, and the show just keeps on getting more interesting. Guess what? It looks like it's only going to get crazier from here since it looks the life-like host robots are up to something. The show is due for the third season, but it's not coming anytime soon. So, you still have a lot of time to catch up. Where to watch: Hotstar 4. The 100 © Netflix What do 'Game of Thrones' and 'The 100' have in common? They both are shows in which no one is safe. So, if you're planning on watching this show, then make sure that you don't get attached to any of the characters. That, however, is the fun part. 'The 100' is based on the Kass Morgan young adult series, but it's no longer following the original storyline and has now become a thing of its own. The show is about a nuclear apocalypse, where the remaining bunch of people are living in a space station. When the station's life support starts showing the signs of failure, they send 100 young prisoners to determine alternate safe shelters. Where to watch: Netflix 5. Frontier © Netflix Honestly, you can watch this show just for Jason Momoa. As Khal Drogo, he got killed off fairly quickly in 'Game of Thrones' and you can get your Khal Drogo fix from this show. 'Frontier' is essentially a show about the 18th-century North American fur trade, where the protagonist takes on Hudson's Bay Company. Where to watch: Netflix
  5. “Oh, did you watch MS Dhoni enter the field last night to challenge the umpires?” “Oh! Oh! Ashwin 'mankaded' Ben Stokes and now, his English teammate, James Anderson shredded Ashwin's photo! OMG!” “Sunil Narine had evil plans to 'mankad' Virat Kohli but our hero was too smart for him.” C'mon @circleofcricket, that was such a cheap idea 4 likes 'n cmmnts. Love that some Narine give back to Kohlið#IPL @IPL #KKRvRCB pic.twitter.com/wL5QTuYl57 — Shan Kamarudheen (@ShanKamarudheen) April 19, 2019 *Sigh* With the kind of drama and plot twists the twelfth season of the Indian Premier League is producing, we might as well start calling the daily matches “episodes” of a cringey but superhit Indian soap opera that literally millions of people watch on a regular basis. Along with all the lights, the music, the dancing, leagues like these are most definitely making the sport a lot more exciting and with the T20 format taking over the world life wildfire, cricket has never been more popular amongst the younger generations. But, maybe that's not enough. They want people to talk about controversies and rowdy behaviour by the players and disrespecting the officials like highschool bullies. I was alive when I saw Dhoni angry. #RRvCSK pic.twitter.com/ZCawlEqqKA — Akash Jain (@akash207) April 11, 2019 The battles of “he said, she said” do not help either. Well respected men of cricket, people like Harsha Bhogle and Shane Warne are fighting on Twitter over something like Ashwin's 'mankading' just to add a tinch of masala to the piping hot mess this season is turning out to be. Harsha you are missing the point completely & I'm disappointed in you as you always push the spirit of the game - now you condone this behaviour ? Ashwin's actions were simply disgraceful, and I hope the BCCI doesn't condone this sort of behaviour in the #IPL ! #spiritofthegame https://t.co/BsIKDBN51X — Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) March 25, 2019 The point is that IPL is famous, yes. Cricketing fans from all over the world are glued to their smartphones and televisions to watch the four-hour-long matches on weekdays and double the amount on the weekends. The viewership and continued to grow through the years thanks to channels like Star Sports 1 Tamil and Jalsha Movies providing match commentary in the regional languages and the male-female contribution in the exponentially growing views has remained consistent, according to a report shared by the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India. In other words, business is good and that should be enough, right? So, what is the need to add such controversies and disputes to the sport?
  6. Theories may come and theories may go, but this one goes on forever. Ever since 'Avengers: Infinity War' came out last year, all Marvel fans have spent all their time watching and rewatching everything from Marvel, trying to find out clues and form theories for 'Avengers: Endgame'. Some seem spot on, some are too big to reach, and then some theories are so ridiculous, they become so iconic they even reach back to the cast and the directors. If 'Ant-Man going up Thanos' ass and expanding' didn't immediately come to your mind, I'm sorry but you're not a true Marvel fan. This is the theory that has formed a life of its own and has probably haunted Paul Rudd, and Josh Brolin, of course, for months. The theory is so simple yet so complicated, so ridiculous but ridiculous enough to actually work. And, we're not the only ones advocating for Ant-Man to go inside Thanos; turns out, even Robert Downey Jr is a fan. While doing press for the biggest Marvel movie yet, two of the OG Avengers - Jeremy Renner and RDJ - talked about all the crazy fan theories. Jeremy kept it professional and said, “I just love the creativity that comes from theories. They're hilarious, they're pretty crazy… but it means people are invested in the stories.” RDJ, on the other hand, was just being, well, RDJ. He would obviously bring up the viral theory. He said, “My favorite [fan theory] is Ant-Man goes up Thanos' butt and then makes himself big. And that's exactly what happens.” Robert Downey Jr talks about his favorite #AvengersEndgame theories... ð ð pic.twitter.com/BExlNXFUjM — EB Games Australia (@EBGamesAus) April 15, 2019 Well, the Russo Brothers were already on board with this theory and now that they have RDJ's support, it can only mean one thing - Thanos better watch his back...and his butt. I wish I could say this was photoshopped but the Russo brothers really did that pic.twitter.com/U7zW1fYznN — mila â¡ (@voiidmarvel) March 29, 2019 Paul Rudd right now, probably!
  7. Donald Trump and Tim Cook have been making headlines all day today for a hilarious reason. During a conference at the White House, the US President accidentally referred to Apple's CEO as 'Tim Apple', instead or Mr. Tim Cook. ... here's the president of the united states calling tim cook, ceo of apple, "tim apple." pic.twitter.com/RTc45RFm5e — fake nick ramsey (@nick_ramsey) March 6, 2019 Goes without saying that it soon became a meme and social media is having a field day joking about it. 8. It feels like cricketer-turned-sledger Virender Sehwag has taken over the job of rubbing every loss Team Australia incurs in their faces. What started out as a skit based on the 'Babysitter banter' between the Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Aussie Test Captain Tim Paine during India's tour Down Under, converted into a full-fledged promo for the ongoing T20I and ODI series going on between the two cricketing titans. Acting as the babysitter to infants who enter the dressing room wearing the Australian kit, Sehwag challenged Aaron Finch and team in the most unique manner. 'We will babysit every single member of the Australian cricket team', said the former opener. The promo was on point, it was hilarious and garnered a lot of attention on social media. There was just a slight problem with it. Expecting to continue with the winning streak after India destroyed the Aussies on their soil a month ago, India went head to head with them in the two-match T20I series and were absolutely dominated in both bowling and batting during the same. Cricketing legend Matthew Hayden had warned the Men in Blue to not take his side lightly and calmly reminded Sehwag (and the rest of the world) that they were the reigning World Champions. #BeWarned Never take Aussie's for a joke Viru Boy @virendersehwag @StarSportsIndia Just remember who's baby sitting the #WorldCup trophy https://t.co/yRUtJVu3XJ — Matthew Hayden AM (@HaydosTweets) February 11, 2019 However, we underestimated them and faced the harsh consequences. This led to another Sehwag promo in which he literally begged to presumably Virat Kohli's men to make a comeback during the five-match ODI series. Thankfully, the Indian cricket team as a whole found their form and have won both the ODIs (although not too comfortably) thanks to the heroic 141-run partnership shared between MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav in the first and Virat Kohli's 116-runs innings in the second. As expected, Sehwag is back at it, talking about the brilliance of the Indian batting order during the last two games in a new promo. “He's asking me how to dismiss the Indian batsmen,” a visibly happy Sehwag says while holding a baby Aussie. “Oye! Why should I tell you?” The thing is, a pattern has occurred between these promos (that are hilarious, by the way) and the winning and losing of Team India. Every time Viru has called out the Aussies, they have replied with a great performance and Kohli's guys have lost. We just hope that Sehwag has not jinxed the winning streak and that the pattern breaks this time as Team India (leading 2-0) will be playing to win the ODI series, during the third match in Ranchi.
  9. 2018 was a tough year for West Indies batsman and former skipper Chris Gayle, especially when it came to becoming a part of his national team to represent his country in international matches and tournaments. Bad form, injuries and controversies infested the cricketer's career to the point that he wanted to say goodbye to the sport for good back then. What made him stay in touch with the athlete in himself were the league-level tournaments that are now being hosted by most of the top cricketing nations after the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh Premier League, you name it and Gayle was there. However, 2019 brought the hitter some good fortune as the selectors decided to give him one more chance with the ODI series against the visiting England cricket team and another opportunity was all the self-proclaimed 'Universe Boss' was looking for. Playing on a superhuman level Gayle has scored 135, 50 and 162 runs in the first, second and fourth ODI matches against the Englishmen, not only becoming the first person in the history of international cricket to hit more than 500 sixes but also only the second West Indies cricketer to have more than 10,000 runs. What a record! ð³300 sixes and 10,000 ODI runs for the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle! ð´ð´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿#MenInMaroon #ItsOurGame #ChrisGayle #GayleForce pic.twitter.com/aM3nDeduSa — Windies Cricket (@windiescricket) February 27, 2019 Even though Eoin Morgan's side is turning out to be way too much of a competition for the Windies, Gayle on his own, is reaching for the stars with his new-found form. Having publicly announced his decision to seek retirement after the ICC World Cup 2019, Gayle is now having second thoughts about his farewell. Overruling their own decision to part ways with the game they love isn't something new as players like Sachin Tendulkar and Shahid Afridi (obviously) have also done so in the past. And clearly, for somebody with Gayle's need to stay in the limelight, the thought of retirement has to be short-lived. "I just have to work on the body, and then maybe you can see a bit more Chris Gayle. Things change quickly,” Gayle said after losing a nail-biting fourth ODI against England. “Hopefully, the body can change in the next couple of months and we can see what happens. What's the matter with the body? I'm nearly 40. But could I un-retire? We'll see. We'll take it slowly." Never change, Universe Boss.
  10. MWC saw quite a few interesting and weird smartphones, however, the show was stolen by all the foldable smartphones that were announced. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold at its Unpacked event, followed by a more practical foldable smartphone by Huawei called the 'Mate X'. As of now, foldable smartphones have been teased by various companies like Xiaomi, OPPO, LG, Motorola and others. Apple has considered making a foldable smartphone in the past and has also filed a patent that covers “Flexible Display Devices”, however, we have not seen anything from the Cupertino giant as of now. Even though Apple may just be the only manufacturer that has not flirted with a foldable prototype, it didn't stop Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak from wanting one. © LetsGoDigital Speaking to Bloomberg, Wozniak said that he really wants to get his hands on a foldable iPhone and wants Apple to be a leader in this segment of smartphones. “Apple has been a leader for quite a long time in a few areas such as Touch ID, (Face ID) and easy payment with the phone,” Wozniak said during the Bloomberg interview. “They're not the leader in areas like the folding phone, and that worries me because I really want a folding phone.” Apple is known to have surprises up its sleeve and we cannot be sure whether the company is already working on a foldable smartphone. Even though the Mate X and Galaxy Fold have been announced, the two smartphones are not yet ready for consumers. It's still quite expensive and is in the initial stage of development. Apple, on the other hand, is known to launch devices that just work and it may be too soon for the company to unveil its own foldable device. © LetsGoDigital Even if Apple does make a foldable iPhone, there's a good chance it may look like the image above. It's a render based on the patent filed by Apple and developed by LetsGoDigital. Do you want a foldable iPhone in the near future? Let us know in the comments. Source: Bloomberg
  11. If you have a beer belly bulge that you're not very proud of, then you've come to the right place. The annoying commute of everyday life might leave you with no time to work out and take care of yourself. This means you might end up with racoon eyes and a particular bulge that you're not very proud of. While long term solutions might range from taking care of yourself, your skin and adopting a healthy work out sesh, the short term solution is simple, which is to dress in a way that completely hides the bulge. Here's how you can do that. 1. The Posture Matters © livestrong Firstly, before we start telling you what to wear and what to avoid, you need to get your body posture right because that greatly impacts the visibility of your bulges. So nix crouching and slouching like a couch potato and start sitting up straight and standing upright. 2. Nix Tight Fitted Clothes © manhoodtv If you've gained weight recently, it possibly also means you've outgrown your current size that you wear in clothes which means you should nix wearing tight fitted clothing. It's time to get your sizes right and wear the right size that helps hide the belly. So avoid wearing those tight tees that highlight your belly or tees and that lift from the back when you sit or bend and display your handles. It's really that simple. 3. Nix Extremely Loose-Fitted Clothes Also © Getty images At the same time, you don't want to wear extremely loose fitted clothes also. These can be counterproductive in the sense that they exaggerate body fat instead of hiding it. It's very important to get measured and stick to your size. 4. Stop Believing In Myths About Belly Fat © Getty images You can pull off anything as long as it suits your body. It's a myth that light colours won't suit you. If you get the right size of these colours and combine it with a fitted counterpart, they will definitely work. For example, a light blue shirt would work for you if you pair fitted trousers with it. However, if either of the sizes is off, the pair can be counterproductive. 5. Always Choose Mid-Rise © Getty images When buying trousers, choose mid-rise that fits well around your navel. This will attempt to conceal your belly fat by pressing it in. 6. Layering Helps © Getty images You must've heard this one before but layering is a really good technique to conceal belly fat. So, a shirt over a t-shirt or a scarf in the Summer work great. In the Winter, choose shrugs, jackets, long coats that streamline your figure and conceal the fat.
  12. Samsung has officially unveiled that Galaxy S10 in which there's also a 5G model for the upcoming services that will be rolled out in the U.S. soon. As 5G becomes more readily available, we will see more smartphones with new wireless tech including in phones from OnePlus and other manufacturers. © YouTube However, this is not enough for the U.S. President Donald Trump as he urged wireless carriers to deploy G and "6G" networks "as soon as possible,” What President Trump forgot to check was that 6G tech does not exist at the moment. "I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible," Trump wrote on Twitter this morning. "It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind.” I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind. There is no reason that we should be lagging behind on......... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 21, 2019 In a second tweet, Trump said that 5G and 6G are "so obviously the future.” 5G is being rolled out sooner than expected and users on a 5G network can download an episode of Game of Thrones in minutes. 5G will also enable users to stream games from the cloud on their devices without any lag. 5G will also let users communicate with each other via 4K video. © BCCL Trump's tweet comes after concerns that Chinese companies like Huawei are ahead of US companies at developing 5G tech. However, Trump's demand for 6G technology is quite baffling as 6G doesn't even exist as a concept, not even in theory. 6G wireless technology, if it even exists, is years away from being implemented in real life. However, Trump's tweet me just be a subtle push for US companies to get a head start on 6G tech.
  13. Innovation doesn't come easy and Samsung managed to pull off a working foldable smartphone and calls its the “Galaxy Fold.” It's a phone that can fold and can be bought for a lot of money. There's no doubt that the Galaxy Fold is an engineering marvel; however, it has one very obvious caveat. The Galaxy Fold may look different from anything you've ever seen, but it's too damn thick when folded. © Samsung The device itself has a screen size of 4.6-inches when folded and turns into a 7.3-inch display when unfolded and becomes a tablet. It's probably the most refined foldable smartphone we've seen yet. The one feature that sets the Galaxy Fold apart from others is its app continuity feature. Currently, it works with YouTube, WhatsApp, Google Maps, YouTube, Netflix and Facebook. © Samsung On one hand, the Galaxy Fold is a device that lets you fit something in your pocket that is as big as a tablet. On the other hand, the Galaxy Fold is way too thick for it to sit comfortably in your pocket. Reports suggest that the Galaxy Fold is 17mm thick when folded and 6.9mm thick when unfolded. To put things into perspective, the Galaxy Fold is as thick as the Nintendo Switch and it is certainly not practical to fit something that thick in your pocket. On the brighter side, the Galaxy Fold does come with impressive specifications that makes it one of the most powerful and expensive smartphones yet. The Galaxy Fold comes with 12 GB of RAM and batteries on each side of the foldable phone. It has six cameras, i.e. three on the back, one on the front and two inside. © Samsung The rear cameras are a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. On the inside, the two cameras are a 10-megapixel selfie camera and an 8-megapixel depth camera. As for the front-facing camera, the Galaxy Fold has a single 10-megapixel selfie camera. Even though the Galaxy Fold is probably the most exciting thing made by Samsung yet, it's sheer thickness can be problematic for users who want a practical device. The Galaxy Fold also costs $ 1980 (Approx Rs 1,40,670) which is a fair price for something that's innovative. Whether folding phones will be a thing of the future remains to be seen. Maybe, future iterations will be thinner and more affordable.
  14. There isn't much that hasn't been said about the greatness of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a player. He is one of the greatest batsman, knows how to win games for his country, is the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team and probably has the best reflexes as a wicket-keeper too! But MS Dhoni, in person, is equally phenomenal. From running a charity for the betterment of the financially backward students to showing his support to the Indian Army by holding friendly matches, the proceedings from which contribute to the better conditions of the 'jawans' at border, Dhoni has checked all the boxes for the prerequisites of being India's favourite son. Patriotism for the former captain is deep ingested in his heart. Prided with the position of Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army, Dhoni had once said: Once my cricket career is over, I would definitely like to serve in the army”. The love for his country seems to be guiding every action of the cricketing star as on Sunday, during the third and final T20I match between India and New Zealand at Hamilton, Dhoni's (almost) reflexive actions prevented the Indian tricolour from staying on the floor. Fan gives flag to Dhoni...!! pic.twitter.com/yxlNzXcsZ4 — Videos Shots (@videos_shots) February 10, 2019 Watch as one of Dhoni's millions of fans was able to rush past the security and onto the field just so he could fall on his idol's feet in love and respect. The fan happened to have a small Indian flag with him which Dhoni instantly picked up as the fan dove to the cricketer's feet, preventing the disrespect it would have meant. What's more is that while other sportspersons get finicky about fans running towards when with an object (which is totally understandable), Dhoni greeted the fan in white properly before he ran away clearly overflowing with joy as the security guard followed him in pursuit. Used to praising MSD for something or the other almost every single day, people once again took to Twitter, this time, to commend Dhoni's patriotic gesture: Dhoni never keep Flag on his helmet as he had to put it down for sometimes sums up this â£ðð»!! 15. They say falling in love with someone, at first sight, is something you only watch in the movies. It never comes to life anymore. I agree it's hard to compare falling in love with someone at first sight to knowing someone for years and then falling in love with them. But love, at first sight, does exist and in reality, it's one of the strongest bonds that barely deters in spirit. (c)Instagram Today's generation is a little sticky with this phenomena though. That's also because a lot of people don't know that the real concept of 'love at first sight' came from our forefathers and ancestors when love was a lot simpler and malleable. Relationships survived without the advent of the 'next right swipe'. (c)Instagram But nowadays, men and women alike, need the clarity to adopt love as a feature in their lives, to pursue one another to look for happiness. No one trusts love anymore, everyone is either rooting for 'the perfect match, after 20 swipes' or looking for 'the one'. Gone are the days, when you'd just meet someone and you know, they're the one for you. Well, not entirely gone though. Meet Ankita and Amish, the only real-time couple we've come across in a long time who've survived beautifully for six years after they fell in love with each other at first sight! I fell in love with her in one night flat- Amish (c)Instagram And that was that we're guessing. All it took for Amish was to spend a few hours with Ankita and be absolutely head over heels in love with her. And she with him. Amish and Ankita first met at a karaoke bar, where Ankita, much to her dislike, was setting her friend up with Amish, but little did she know, Amish already had his eyes set upon her and the rest of the night was just the two of them getting along like a house on fire. Although after her friend's insistence, Ankita decided to approach Amish to pursue him for her friend, instead she found what she was looking for, all along, right at that moment, right there and then. (c)Instagram We found love in a hopeless place, where the world was a drunken mess and looking to have a good time. It was almost like a weekly Wednesday meet up for subscribers of hedonism where winning mating game and detachment ruled the roost. And there he stood with his thick black glasses bobbing his head to a song. That night I realised I had found my co-conspirator, the worshipper of mush and cheese, the love for greasy food, wanderlust, believing the world was made of marsh-mellows and buttercream. He was my kind of boy - Ankita (c)Instagram That's how love swings, or is supposed to, isn't it? It doesn't wait, it never recedes at the perfect moment and it lets you know you can't control it. Falling in love, at first sight, is actually a long lost scientific battle. There is a science involved in every realm of it and while the chemicals balance in your brain, you keep falling deeper in that feeling. It's true, while you are falling in love, your brain is creating dopamine and serotonin, and the composition is a real rush. (c)Instagram But inadequately so, most young people today have learnt to consciously alter that immediate response by judging their own reaction while rejecting the other person's. It tough to let your feelings flow, when you're constantly rushed by numerous 'options' at hand, not giving yourself a chance to experience the purity of that rush. There's Incredible Strength In Just Getting To Know Someone From Scratch We sat across the table, ordered for wontons and beers. Dipped one in the hot sauce, took a bite like it meant life, made disgusting sounds, panted with a chilly breath and washed it down with pints of beers. It was almost like Wonton chomp, chilly pant, glug, hysterical laughter, awkward silence, butterflies and then repeat. I even chose a yellow muffler over a purple jacket for my date, not the quintessential LBD. I was my messy best but Amish always felt like home to me, so it was very real there was no need to pretend - Ankita (c)Instagram Their first date was somewhat like that. Their dynamic was built on the nuance of barely knowing each other. They'd just happen to meet at a bar and they started talking, so there was a lot to find out. But that's the best part about falling in love with someone instantaneously, isn't it? You want to know every little aspect of their existence till it fills your subconscious to the brim. Post their little encounter at the bar, the two spent a good amount of time together to find out who they really were and what made them fall in love, in the first place. (c)Instagram She's incredible. The human being she is, the power to give, the power to love beyond self-love, the power to stand against the tide or a cyclone or both, the warrior she is- Wonder Woman's got nothing on her, her innocence, her morality, her feminism. I am proud that a being like this exists in this humanity-is-secondary world - Amish Amish and Ankita finally tied the knot 3 years ago and because both met as total strangers in love, they started imbibing the best qualities from one another, just to be comfortable around each other. The likes of respect, equality, understanding, faith and trust was an autopilot derivative of that. Amish graceful took her last name after marriage because he realised love shouldn't succumb to your identity as unequal's, rather it should stand out in true equality and unity of one's mind, body and soul. (c)Instagram Amish believes in equality, I dig that about him. It's a simple virtue but easier said than done. When we got married he decided to take my sir name and said- 'why should you have all the fun and celebrate me, I want to celebrate you too - Ankita Relationships based on 'Love at first sight' are long-lasting. That's because they create an illusion of positivity in your head about accepting each other, through a myriad of reasons and making it works against all odds while starting from scratch. And every time Amish and Ankita talk about how they first met and fell in love instantly, their connection certainly deepens in time. (c)Instagram So, if you're looking for a love that's fulfilling and deep, keep your mind and soul open, you never know who you might meet and spend the rest of your life with, at that very moment! I have learnt to be a more aware and honest human being, who can accept his weaknesses, weigh his insecurities and be proud of his strengths. But the most important thing it has taught me that the fairy-tale ideal kinda love does exist but for it to prosper, you work on it selflessly every day - Amish
  16. Opens Instagram Sees a picture of a guy with a six-pack abs The bio reads Fitness Influencer/Lifetime Natural Checks posts All ab shots Closes Instagram and feels bad about self. How often have you found yourself doing this? See, going on a diet to get abs is not a bad thing at all. Losing fat generally is healthy for you and putting in the work to get lean is rewarding. But there is a difference between lean and shredded. Let me break it down for you: . Lean and athletic - 8 to 14% body fat . Shredded - Below 8% body fat The problem is that there are these enhanced and drugged bodybuilders who keep posting pictures of themselves looking shredded with rock-hard abs all year round, making you feel bad about yourself, even when you are lean. You are in a constant battle against yourself to stay shredded all year round like them. If you are building a physique without using any drugs for assistance (aka anabolic steroids), here are five reasons why trying to be shredded year round is plain stupid: © Pinterest 1. Your Testosterone Levels Will Take A Hit Dieting to a very low body fat percentage impacts your testosterone levels. Your hormones dip. It will impact your recovery, mood, and sexual health negatively. The reason guys on anabolics do not face this problem is them taking the hormones externally. They inject testosterone in supra-physiological doses on a weekly basis. Natural testosterone levels do not mean shit to them. 2. Constant Hunger Low body-fat means your hunger and satiety hormones are at a whack. Your leptin or satiety hormone is at an all-time low and your ghrelin or hunger hormone is at an all-time high. You are in a constant bad mood and cranky all the time. People around you do not like this side of you as well. 3. Too Restricted You will have to micro-manage every single meal that goes into your body to stay shredded. You will have to count every macro, weigh every food item, completely cut out every delicious food from your diet to be shredded. After a point, this becomes super stressful. You cannot focus on other things in life. You will be food obsessed. 4. Cannot Make Gains To gain muscle, you need to be in a calorie surplus and gain weight slow and steady. You will gain body fat. To be shredded and maintain your abs, you will need to be in a constant caloric deficit or at best, at your maintenance calories. As you see, these are two sides of a coin. You cannot have both. It is one or the other. Again, enhanced guys get bigger taking steroids is the hormones injected externally. © Pinterest 5. Body Image Issues A lot of well-known bodybuilders and fitness models have come out and spoken about this. Once you see your body look a certain way and you always desire to look that way, the obsession takes an ugly turn. A lot of athletes have admitted to being in a state of depression due to this. Attempting to stay shredded all year round is not just harmful to your physical health but also your mental health. 17. Smartphone makers have been trying really hard to distinguish themselves from the rest and often leave aside practicality. Last year, we witnessed OPPO and Vivo's short stints with sliding camera modules, forceful addition of the notch, and even devices with a display on the back. A prime question that they often forget is, do we really need this? Meizu has decided to take this a notch further with the Meizu Zero. It is the world's first phone with no holes. That's right, the company has stripped everything down and created a near-perfect enclosed phone. To start with, it has no charging port and you'll have to completely rely on wireless charging. Secondly, there's no SIM tray and you'll have to use the built-in eSIM technology to get cellular services. © Meizu Lastly, it doesn't have a headphone jack. We've got used to this removal and while there are many good alternatives available to solve this issue, not having a charging port sounds monstrous. Yes, wireless is definitely the future, but forcefully pushing it forward now isn't rational. In Meizu's defence though, they've managed to equip the phone with 18W wireless charging, which is really fast. This would surpass Apple's 7.5W and Samsung's 9W wireless charging speeds by a huge margin. © Meizu The traditional speakers have also been removed and replaced by Meizu's "mSound 2.0 In-screen Sound Technology" that allows the display to behave as a speaker. The phone also skips the notch or a punch-hole camera. On the front is a 6-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and the glass curves towards the edges. It runs on a Snapdragon 845 processor along with LPDDR4X RAM. For the cameras, there's a pair of Sony's IMX380 + IMX350 dual camera setup while the front has a 20-megapixel selfie camera. © Meizu Considering it's a hole-less phone, it gets IP68 water and dust resistance and there are no physical buttons. Meizu is using a haptic feedback system to offer virtual buttons on the side to turn the phone on and off and to adjust the volume. While I've been critical about the use of such a phone, these devices aren't meant to be hot sellers. In fact, the Meizu Zero comes close to a concept phone that depicts how gadgets will evolve over the coming years. The concept is way ahead of its time and just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should do it.
  18. If you're completely relying on a particular ecosystem of products, you'd expect them to have easy connectivity options, at least among each other. While Apple has among the best in-sync mechanisms on the software end using iCloud and AirDrop, the company has some serious issues with hardware. Anand Mahindra, CEO of Mahindra Group, bought himself an iPad Pro and realised a normal iPhone lightning connector no longer works with it. To charge the new tablet, a USB-C connection has been provided and you need to carry a separate connector for the device. This fact annoyed the Indian billionaire and he expressed his disappointment on Twitter. © BCCL In a tweet, Mahindra said that he will have to buy a new charger as well as earphone which will add to the list of accessories he needs to carry while travelling. The business tycoon added that this is why most people are sticking to the existing model of their device. When Apple released the lightning connector in 2012, it was supposed to be the de facto option for devices like mobiles and tablets. Don't get us wrong, USB-C is equally advanced and in many cases even better thanks to compatibility with non-Apple devices. But, Apple has been pushing the new port very selectively, coercing users to carry two cables at a given point, one for the iPhone and one for the iPad. Got a new iPad & found that the lightning connector's been https://t.co/UmJpsLysGo need a new charger which doesn't work with my iPhone&new earphones too.More junk when I travel. Great strategy to boost accessory sales, but not surprised more folks are sticking to existing models — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) January 18, 2019 If Apple is serious about pushing USB-C in all its devices, it should also upgrade the port on iPhone's. Over the years, Apple has been as frustrating as it is innovative, especially when it comes to changing chargers on its devices. Apple also removed the MagSafe port from the Mac line-up and added a USB-C instead. This led to even more problems for the end user since the laptop completely eliminated USB-A, forcing users to depend on multiple dongles for SD cards, HDMI, and more. © iMore Buying a new cable for an Apple device is also significantly expensive, leaving users with no option but to spend or perish. He also expressed unhappiness over the matter that the accessories like earphone for iPhone is also not compatible with iPad Pro. When Apple removed the headphone jack from iPhones, it provided small lightning to 3.5mm dongle in the box. With the latest iPhones, even the dongle isn't available out of the box. © The Verge The point is, Apple is a premium brand should stop ignoring basic user requirements. While these actions are getting them some more cash in the short term, pissing off buyers is never a good idea in the longer run.

  20. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's wedding became national news last year, and even a glimpse of their wedding photographs sent the entire nation into a frenzy. And now, 2019 seems to have started no differently for the couple, what with Ranveer's mega success making the transition to 2019 utterly memorable for the newly-weds. The pair doesn't seem to be able to stay away from the limelight for long, and lately, they made headlines for coming forward and declaring loud and proud, that neither of them will be changing their surnames post marriage. © Instagram In this case, the newly-wed couple was met with the same fate as any other Indian couple. That is, as soon as two people decide to tie the knot, the raging question that arises is, whether the woman will change her surname post marriage. Deepika shared a similar fate, and ever since her wedding in November last year, gossip columns were populated with artfully written pieces speculating if Deepika Padukone will thenceforth be known as Deepika Padukone Singh, Deepika Padukone Bhavnani or some such other variant. © Instagram But as we have already gathered from an HT report, neither Deepika nor Ranveer have any plans of changing their surnames, much against popular buzz doing the rounds. Calling her own comment in an interview, about Ranveer changing his surname pose marriage, a “candid joke”, Deepika further added that, “It's not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it's a conversation Ranveer and I've never even had. So, we haven't been like, 'oh, do you think you should change your surname?'” © Instagram She went on to explain that the question about changing her surname came as a surprise since she and Ranveer had never considered it important enough to discuss it. “It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked about it, I was like, 'oh, we haven't even thought about it'. Maybe because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my own identity and so has he. So, my question is, why would he have to do that?”, said the 'Padmaavat' star. At this point, I would prompt you to re-read that last statement by Deepika once more. I would have preferred to highlight that bit with a highlighting pen for you, if it was possible. But you get the point. I simply wish to draw your attention to the keywords here - “not important”, “own identity” and “why”. © Instagram And I have the same question, why is it expected from a woman to change her surname once she becomes someone's legally wedded wife? Also, why is it so that a man is seen as a submissive or less powerful when his wife decides to stick to her maiden name after getting married? Why do we as a society wish to meddle with others' personal choice to change or not change their surnames, so as to just carry forward medieval societal “norms and traditions” that secure patriarchal egos and position? © Instagram Changing the surname is often seen as a symbol equivalent of belonging to a community, family or household. Needless to say, the 9th-century 'Doctrine of Coverture' played a role in altering people's mindset in this regard, since such a practice was unheard of before then. But again, this is the 21st century and surely, we ought to leave behind such malpractices in our past and look at women as an independent, fully-functioning individual who is more than someone's wife, mother and daughter-in-law. © Instagram Why do we want to work ourselves up with this need to maintain that a woman must always “belong” to someone? That she needs to be labelled, which would then act as her marker should she get mixed up/misplaced in a country with a population spilling onto the 2 billion mark? Why do we as a society treat it as our birthright to overlook the identity a woman creates and maintains before she decides to get married and share the same with another human being, who also happens to have a 'unique identity' of his own? This is not to say that women who 'choose' to take on their husband's surname after getting married are bartering their identity, or furthering senseless patriarchal norms. Like anybody else, even they have the right to consciously and freely choose for themselves, regardless of the motivation behind it. So my point is, just like Deepika pointed out in her comments, that all of us, both men and women work very hard all our lives to create our own identities that are attached to our personal achievements and histories. And I believe it is utterly unfair for anyone to expect that a woman or a man should change that identity attached to their names, for any reason whatsoever. What do you guys have to say about this? Let us know in the comments section below!
  21. Ever since the so-called 'special' episode of 'Koffee With Karan' aired last Sunday, the lives of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have turned around for all the wrong reasons. Owing to their misogynist and sexist comments on the show, the two Indian cricketers have already faced a lot of backlash as they await fitting punishment for their actions on national TV. After the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai's recommendation of a two-ODI ban, the duo was charged with misconduct and indiscipline before being suspended from all forms of cricket pending a detailed inquiry into the controversy. The two cricketers were later forced to return home from Australia where the Indian cricket team is currently engrossed with the ODI series. Amid the uproar on social media, Virat Kohli made his stand clear and stated that the comments made by Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are not are not acceptable and the personal opinions are not the view of the India team. "We, definitely, as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and that has been communicated. I can definitely say that as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers we definitely don't align with those views and those are purely individual views," Kohli had said ahead of India's first ODI against the Aussies at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). BCCL Following Kohli's strong stance on the demeanour of the two cricketers, Harbhajan Singh, too, came out all guns blazing against Pandya and Rahul for tarnishing the image of the game and those who play it. even went on to add that he won't be comfortable having Pandya and Rahul around his wife and daughter. "I will not travel with these two guys in the bus if my daughter or my wife are travelling in the team bus with me. How would they feel? You are looking at women in only one angle and that is not right," Harbhajan told India Today. The veteran Indian spinner also pointed out that the duo's comments have now put every cricketer's reputation on the line. "We don't talk about all this even with our friends and they were talking on public television. Now people might think was Harbhajan Singh like this, was Anil Kumble like this and was Sachin Tendulkar," Harbhajan added. Instagram/@hardikpandya93 "Pandya has been in the team for how long to talk of the team culture in the manner he did. I think this is the way to go," the 38-year-old said, when asked about the suspension. "The BCCI did the right thing, and this is also the way forward. This was expected and I am not surprised," Bhajji said. Following the nation-wide outrage, Pandya and Rahul, in response to the BCCI's showcause notice demanding an explanation from the two cricketers, had regretted their actions and apologised for hurting the sentiments of people. However, the BCCI officials unanimously decided to suspend the Pandya and Rahul while ordering an inquiry into the row.

  23. 2018 has been Vicky Kaushal's year. The way the lad spiralled into the collective consciousness of everyone - right from the audience to the, well, women of the country, 'commendable' seems to be an understatement as an adjective. We are all looking forward to his next venture, 'Uri', the promotions for which he has been aggressively involved in. We have always loved his outfits, and it was expected that he would be wearing 'tough' clothes, for adhering to the theme of the movie. However, his latest appearance proved that 'tough' can be colourful, fun, and fashionable. Look at his footwear. © Instagram/amandeepkaur87 Usually, men's boots tend to be rather dull - having only brown, black, or olive as their colour. However, Vicky wore a pair from Woodland that is blue, and has a delightful red sole, along with red detailing. Plus, those extra-long beige shoelaces are adding to the overall playfulness of the pair. If that doesn't burst the bubble that tough boots are boring, we don't know what else can. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 We are in love with the casual layered outfit Vicky is sporting. The maroon shirt from Pero along with the Tommy Hilfiger Denim jacket gives him a super urban street edge, something that complements his height wonderfully. © Instagram/amandeepkaur87 All we can say is we can't wait to see him experiment more with his outfits, as he clearly can pull off anything.
  24. Fitness has become an in-trend profession nowadays, with every other kid in the street claiming to be a fitness expert. With fake YouTube subscribers, purchasable Instagram followers, and photoshop skills, a lot of these pseudo-experts easily get you trapped in their marketing gimmicks and steal your money. Taking away your money is one thing but harming your health is another. And when it comes to fitness, following wrong advice can easily land you in trouble related to your health. So here are some telltale signs that the fitness experts or gurus you are following maybe shit. 1. They Say Calories Do Not Count And It Is Old Science First things first, the rule of calories is derived from the laws of thermodynamics. There is a reason they are called laws and not the mythology of thermodynamics. It is the law, it holds universal truth. And there are enough and adequate studies and case studies that show that calorie restriction or energy balance is the primary component of weight loss. © Thinkstock 2. They Say Things Like Carbs Are Poison Carbohydrates are the primary source of fuel for the human body and though they may not be essential for survival, they do play a major role when it comes to performance. Saying things like they are poison and are killing you is outright retarded and stupid. This claim goes against the basic understanding of human metabolism. 3. They Are On Drugs And All Their Clients Are On Drugs When you do anabolic steroids, things become different. As a study had shown that the subjects who took steroids made 2x the gains without any training compared to a group who trained regularly for 10 weeks. So by injecting drugs into your body and building muscle do not have anything in relation with the knowledge you may have. There is actually a good chance that it will dumb you down as you will make progress irrespective of all the shit you do. Claiming you are an expert because you took a shortcut to grow muscle is like taking care of a sick person at home and saying that you are now a doctor. 4. They Make Bold Claims Without Backing It Up With Evidence A lot of these fake gurus at times make claims based on anecdotal evidence. Saying that so-and-so exists because I have experimented with on my clients and seen results are purely anecdotal. Especially if evidence suggests otherwise! For example, a fitness guru saying cut out carbs because it is making you fat. I cut out carbs from all my client's diets and they lost weight. The matter of the fact is that the clients lost weight because you cut out a food group altogether resulting in a caloric restriction. And there is evidence and studies done on weight-loss subjects that when calories and protein are matched, higher and lower carb diets provide similar weight loss results. Higher carb diets slightly outperforming the lower carb diets. But then if this 'guru' says that it is old science, maybe not a guru after all. © Unsplash 5. They Claim That They Know Some Secrets About Fat Loss Or Muscle Gain OH, COME ON! This is physiology and there are no secrets per se. They may have a secret. A secret concoction of drugs that they may be prescribing to their clients! But saying that their secrets go beyond science and are hidden gems is a pile of bullshit. 25. There is a famous training approach that all the gym trainers and desi gym gurujis have been married to since the dawn of time. It is the classic 'One body part a day' training approach aka the bro-split. Whenever a novice joins the gym with the goal to lose fat and get lean, they are often made to train this way by the desi gym trainers. © Pixabay Their training split looks like this: Monday - Chest Tuesday - Shoulder Wednesday - Back Thursday - Arms Friday - Legs Weekend - Off Reason? Pro bodybuilders train that way. Yeah, makes no sense at all. Now, if your goal is fat loss, the main thing that drives it is a caloric deficit. How do you create a caloric deficit, you ask? By eating lesser calories and by burning maximum calories possible. To understand the eating part, about what really matters, read this article.Think about it for a minute now, which exercise would help you burn more calories? Three sets of bicep curls or three sets of squats? Obviously, three sets of squats. And as you get leaner, those arms that you have been working on for a session straight will anyway show up. Better use them as accessory work than dedicating an entire session to it. If you want to burn more calories in the gym after reading this article, and if you are a beginner, you can follow this sample workout: © Pixabay Session A Leg Press - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Barbell Rows - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Machine Chest Press - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Lat Pulldowns - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Machine Overhead Press - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Triceps - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Biceps - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Session B Squats - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Seated Rows - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Decline Chest Press - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Reverse-Grip Lat Pulldowns - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Incline Dumbbell Press - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Calves - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Abs - 3 sets of 8 to 12 Your training split will effectively look like this: Monday - Session A Wednesday - Session B Friday - Session A Monday - Session B With this, not only you would be not going to the gym and wasting your time dedicating an hour of arm training, you will be able to do some other activity as well of your choice and enjoy training in general. And obviously, burn more calories. Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company.
