  1. On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navmi, two young Indian cricketers Rishabh Pant and Anuj Rawat, currently plying their trade for different franchises in IPL 2022, shared their greetings on the micro-blogging site. In their posts, both the cricketers wished their followers on the auspicious occasion and prayed to Lord Ram for their peace, prosperity, and well-being. Wishing everyone the best on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. May Lord Ram, a symbol of sacrifice, bring you and your family joy, peace, and prosperity. Jai Shri Ram. #RamNavami — Rishabh Pant (@RishabhPant17) April 10, 2022 “Wishing everyone the best on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. May Lord Ram, a symbol of sacrifice, bring you and your family joy, peace, and prosperity. Jai Shri Ram. #RamNavami,” read Pant’s tweet. Aap sabhi ko Ram Navami ki shubhkamnaye. — Anuj Rawat (@AnujRawat_1755) April 10, 2022 The RCB opener, who played a match-winning knock in their last match against Mumbai Indians, wrote a simple message in Hindi, which read: “Aap sabhi ko Ram Navami ki shubhkamnaye (Wishing you all a Happy Ram Navmi).” These were simple greetings on a festival that is widely celebrated throughout the country as it marks the birth of the Hindu God Ram, but, still, some people were not happy with it. A user seemed pretty pissed with their tweets and he attacked both the players and warned them not to “spread Hindu-Muslim hate”. © Twitter Anuj Rawat Reacting to Rawat’s post, he wrote: “Bhai cricket pe dhyan de, hindu muslim hate mat faila (bro, focus on cricket, don’t spread hindu-muslim hate).” © Twitter Rishabh Pant Replying to the Delhi Capitals skipper’s post, he added a few more words but the crux of his message was the same. “Hindu muslim hate failana band kar. Tu cricketer hai cricket pe dhyan de. Ye sab politics mein mat aa (Stop spreading hindu-muslim hate. You are a cricketer, focus on cricket. Don’t get into politics).” However, when the people started bashing him for his useless comments, he had no option but to delete his tweets. This is a result of Nehruvian secularism for 75 years. pic.twitter.com/4ZAtg0lsrF — Varun Kumar Rana (@VarunKrRana) April 10, 2022 But by the time he did that, people had already taken screenshots of his senseless replies and they went viral in no time. Rais Pathan, who as per his Twitter bio is a member of the Central Waqf Council, shared the screenshot on his account and raised a very pertinent question. How wishing people on your very own festival is Hindu-Muslim hate? A new chapter in the school of Secular Liberal Fabric of Hindustan? pic.twitter.com/HlEGTECQ8H — Rais Pathan (@PathanRaisKhan) April 10, 2022 He asked: “How wishing people on your very own festival is Hindu-Muslim hate? Not a single word in their post was against any particular religion but a moron misconstrued attacked them for no reason at all. © IPL Even a blind person could tell that it was this person who was spreading the hate between the two communities, not the cricketers. It’s because of people like him that social media has turned into a toxic space and people are finding it hard to breathe. View the full article

  3. The reigning champions of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings are buried deep in the IPL 2022 points table and are at the 10th spot. They have lost all four of their matches so far and also own the worst Net Run Rate in the tournament. Most of the time, they have not been able to score big but on the rare occasions that they do, their bowling line-up completely shatters and fails to defend the big totals. Batters look out of form, bowlers look out of breath and the fielding has been abysmal from the first match. IPL 2022 points table: pic.twitter.com/yuqKSlZIKr — Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) April 9, 2022 And even though their position in the points table reflects a bad look to the entire team and each member of the roster, it sucks especially for the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was made captain by Mahendra Singh Dhoni mere days ahead of the tournament as the latter decided to step down without giving much of an explanation. If you manage to kill your ego, ride out the cringe and somehow end up watching an entire CSK match, you will get a feeling that even though Jadeja’s name has a capital “C” adjacent to it on the scoreboard, it is the man behind the wickets, who continues to command the squad. View this post on Instagram Amid what is arguably the worst start to the IPL season in CSK franchise history, a lot of the blame is falling on Jadeja’s head but is he the right man to be isolated from among a team of misfits? First of all, Jadeja was given the captaincy only two days before the CSK camp was set to get over. He did not get the time to establish that kind of relationship with the squad and did not get the time to create game plans that he would have personally liked to follow. And then there’s the fact that Dhoni continues to command the team, just without the official label this time around. Please don’t blame Jadeja . 5. After the success of A Thursday, Yami Gautam is all set to entertain fans with her latest release, Dasvi. Co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles, the film premiered on Netflix and JioCinema today (April 7) and is getting a positive response from fans. View this post on Instagram While celebrities always look forward to the reviews of their films, Yami isn't too happy with one of them. Taking to social media, the Vicky Donor actress slammed a portal over Dasvi criticism and stated the platform "keeps trying to pull you down consistently" and that's why she decided to speak about it. She also shared a screenshot from the portal's Dasvi review which states that Yami's combative smile is starting to get repetitive. Expressing her disappointment on Twitter, Yami wrote, "Before I say anything else, I’d like to say that I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it". I would request you not to 'review' my performance henceforth ! I'll find grace in that & it'll be less painful. — Yami Gautam Dhar (@yamigautam) April 7, 2022 For the unversed, Dasvi is directed by Tushar Jalota and revolves around the importance of education in today's times. 6. There are a lot of reasons why actor Arshad Warsi is the absolute best. He is a great comic, a brilliant actor, a humble person and well, he is Circuit (from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S). However, his honesty tops it all. He recently demonstrated how cool he is in an interview where a journalist called his latest release Bachchhan Paandey, a box office success and he called out the 'lie'. © Instagram/Arshad Warsi “Don’t lie, it is not a success,” he said quickly, correcting the journalist. If there was any other actor in his place, he would have just gone with it but Warsi is too grounded to let it pass. In a world where stars throw success parties for their flop films (*coughs*Gehraiyaan*coughs*), here is one who doesn’t have to hide behind the superficial success. © Instagram/Arshad Warsi He added, “It was a good film, but unfortunately it happened, some things work, some things don’t. I feel it just went through a bad patch, there were various things that made it not as successful as it should have been. It is a big film, it should’ve made a lot more money, but it is still not a loss, it covered its money.” View this post on Instagram Warsi plays Vishu Kant Mhatre, Kriti Sanon’s friend in the action flick who helps her in tracking getting close to gangster Bachchhan Paandey for her movie. It was his first film after a two-year gap after Durgamati. View this post on Instagram Upon being asked if the reason that the film didn’t do well was that it was released in theatres and not on OTT platforms, Warsi said, “No, I don’t think it is the OTT effect. Okay, I’ve got an answer for that, but I’m not going to say it. Let's not get into it, it is a different space.” View this post on InstagramWe wonder what he was going to say about why the film didn’t work. Maybe being too honest is also not good and Arshad Warsi knows it all too well. View the full article
  7. Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, Team India has achieved some great results in the last few weeks. After registering a clean sweep over the West Indies in both the limited-overs formats, the Men In Blue have now turned their attention to the T20I series against Sri Lanka. A 56 ball 89 from @ishankishan51 followed by a 57* off 28 from @ShreyasIyer15 propels #TeamIndia to a formidable total of 199/2 on the board. Sri Lanka chase underway. Scorecard - https://t.co/RpSRuIlfLe #INDvSL @Paytm pic.twitter.com/xNGtggaIWK — BCCI (@BCCI) February 24, 2022 The Rohit Sharma-led side began the three-match series with a thumping 62-run victory. Skipper Rohit, his opening partner Ishan Kishan, and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer were the star performers with the bat as the hosts posted a mammoth total batting first. That's that from the 1st T20I.#TeamIndia win by 62 runs and go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Scorecard - https://t.co/RpSRuIlfLe #INDvSL @Paytm pic.twitter.com/S2EoR9yesm — BCCI (@BCCI) February 24, 2022 Throughout the match, the fans loved the strokeplay of all three batters but there was one peculiar thing that caught the attention of the Indian supporters. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was making a comeback after a long time, was prompted up the batting order to bat at number four position, ahead of someone like Sanju Samson and even Venkatesh Iyer, who had grabbed the limelight with his all-round performances in the previous series. © Twitter/BCCI When the southpaw came into bat, the hosts were on the ascendency and many thought it was just an experiment, nothing more than that. However, Rohit’s comments at the post match presentation presented a completely different picture. Speaking about the move, the skipper said that it was a well thought-out decision and he wanted him to bat higher up the order. © Twitter/ICC Not just that, the 34-year-old leader also said that it wasn’t a one-off move and fans would see this happening in the many more games in the build-up to the T20 World Cup in Australia. “Very happy with Jadeja's return. We want more from him that is why we asked him to bat higher. You will see that happening more and more in the games that he plays for India. I want him to bat up the order more,” said the India captain at the post-match presentation. © Twitter/BCCI Praising Jadeja’s batting skills, Rohit said that the southpaw has improved a lot as a batter and he is “very clear” with his game plan regarding him, especially in white-ball cricket. “He is a very improved batter, so we will try and see if we can promote him going forward. We are very clear with what we want to achieve with him in white-ball cricket,” he added. View this post on Instagram Fans, however, were not too pleased with Rohit’s announcement and they expressed their frustration on the micro-blogging site. Many argued that India’s already has an intense competition going on for a middle-order spot, with Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer competing against each other. © Twitter/BCCI Promoting Jadeja would only create more selection headaches for the team management rather than solving them. Hence, he should be confined to finishing the games, batting at either six or seven. Please donot **** up Ro After so many years of struggle finally he is a beast in LOIs in batting in the death. Please keep him at 7 and let him play according to that position — L.A. (@YUPTHEAUGUSTGUY) February 24, 2022If I see Jadeja come up the order during the World Cup this year in AUS. I’m gonna stop watching cricket — Kane Basu (@notacricketfan) February 24, 2022 pic.twitter.com/jrCzppPOkh — Harminder (@21harminder) February 25, 2022Just to give game time then fine..but let him play as finisher ...we have enough talent in middle — Sandy Sandeep (@imsandy466) February 24, 2022Leave him as finisher . If you promote him up the order who will be your finisher? Venkatesh Iyer?? Definitely not — Bhavesh Sv (@BSV57) February 24, 2022Wrong decision toh batsman like venki, Hooda, Sanju, sky, pant udhar Makhi marenge dugout mein Beth kar — Riki Bains (@bainsriki) February 24, 2022India don’t have enough experience lower down the order and the Men In Blue could benefit immensely by assigning the finisher’s role to a season campaigner like Jadeja. 8. Actor Radhika Apte is not only known for her unconventional, brilliant roles, she is also known for never mincing her words when it comes to saying things, and she happily stays away from being politically correct. The actor was last seen in ok computer in 2021 has been missing in action. She has also starred in several films down South but her experience in Tollywood was not great. Back in 2018 when she appeared on a chat show, she opened up about her foul experience. View this post on Instagram “My first day in a Telugu film. There is a scene where I am lying (down), because I am unwell. There are a lot of people; everything is set. And the (male) actor walks in – and we’ve been rehearsing – he walks in… I don’t even know him, and he starts tickling my feet!” she further elaborated, “He was a big actor… I was told he is powerful. But [the person] who I am, I got up and I snapped at him in front of everybody – the whole crew, the junior artists, everybody. And I looked at him and said, “don’t ever, ever do that to me.” I was so angry, I told him “ever, ever!”. He was so shocked, because he didn’t expect that. But he never touched me again.” She also spoke about gender disparity in Tollywood and exclaimed that there is a big difference in how an actress is treated vs how an actor is treated. We wonder who she is talking about though? View the full article

Allu Arjun replies , “Gongura Mutton or anything else, Zomato is there for you”. The ad ends with his Pushpa dialogues and his famous gestures. “Manasu korithe, thaggedele (when your heart desires, don’t just settle)”. 10. As the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri achieved some great results on the field. Be it winning the back-to-back Test series on Australian soil or being the number one Test side in the world for five straight years, the results that Team India delivered under Shastri’s tenure exceeded all expectations. View this post on Instagram But ever since he has moved away from the Indian dressing room, he has been making some explosive remarks about various things that concern Indian cricket which end up creating huge controversies. Recently, one of his comments that caused a huge uproar in the Indian cricket community was when he said that Kohli could’ve easily carried on leading the Indian team in the longest format for a couple of years, if not more. The part that many found problematic and raised quite a few eyebrows was when he, without taking any names, indirectly accused the BCCI office bearers, including president Sourav Ganguly, of being jealous of Kohli’s incredible record as a Test captain. Shastri had stated that had the 33-year-old cricketer carried on leading the Test side he would have added more wins to his name and ‘some people wouldn’t have been able to digest it’. View this post on Instagram Kohli fans praised Shastri for his unfiltered opinion on the matter while the rest discarded his comments saying it was totally unnecessary. Not just fans like me and you, even pundits like Sanjay Manjrekar who know Shastri closely, find his comments baffling and stupid, something which they don’t pay too much attention to. Speaking to CNN-News18, the former Indian batter Manjrekar said that since they both have shared the same dressing room, he has a huge amount of respect for Ravi Shastri – the cricketer, who always took the players under his wings while leading the side and supported the, through thick and thin. #IndianCricketWar Former Indian cricketer @sanjaymanjrekar in an exclusive conversation with @ShivaniGupta_5 speaks on Indian Cricket churn. He says, 'This is like a crisis, but the problem can be solved easily.' Manjrekar also speaks on Ravi Shastri & #ViratKohli, Listen in! pic.twitter.com/BMyCjlum46 — News18 (@CNNnews18) January 25, 2022 But despite knowing him so well on and off the field, he fails to understand this new version of Shastri, who keeps on making “unintelligent comments” due to his hidden “agenda”. “I was a huge admirer of Ravi Shastri. I played under him, he gave players support, a great fighter and senior to have around in the dressing room. But this Shastri 2.0 I don't understand,” Manjrekar told CNN-News18. “What he says in public is expected, I don't react to it. I don't want to be disrespectful. He doesn't make very intelligent comments, you can see the agenda behind it. It's not an accurate cricketing observation,” he explained. Owing to the respect that he has for Shastri, he didn’t say a lot of things but from whatever little he said, one can easily comprehend what he meant. View this post on Instagram Shastri and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly don’t look each other in the eye because of how the former was sidelined for the India head coach position and was replaced by Anil Kumble back in 2016. When he was inside the Indian dressing room his hands were tied but now that he is not part of the set-up, he isn’t bound to behave in a certain manner. He had been wanting to say these things for a very long time but couldn’t. And now he is letting everything out, without giving any second thoughts. View the full article
  11. The Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Indian cricket team are both in the middle of a rather dodgy controversy in which nobody knows whom to trust. For starters, Virat Kohli’s recent press conference before leaving for South Africa suggested that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly lied in the face of media when he said that he wanted Kohli to remain the T20I captain. I personally requested him (Kohli) not to give up the T20I captaincy :Sourav Ganguly "I was never told that I should not leave T20I cricket captaincy" - Virat Kohli (press conference) #shameonganguly #KickOutShahGanguly #BCCI #viratkholi pic.twitter.com/Fvt393KiwI — Sk Kaizar (@KaizarSk) December 15, 2021 Furthermore, the fact that there are various leaks within the Indian cricket board who have been sending out highly confidential information like the date and time for Kohli’s resignation as a captain, also suggests that internal discrepancies are at an all-time high within the organisation. Also, there have been numerous lies coming from within the BCCI, for instance, Ganguly declining all rumours of Rahul Dravid being appointed as the new head coach and Kohli being permanently removed as white-ball captain, only to make it official through their social media channels a couple of days later. #EJSports | #ViratKohli's fiery press conference in Mumbai. For instance, “reports” of Kohli making himself unavailable for the ODI series in South Africa were making headlines and were adding fuel to the fire around a speculated rift between Sharma and him. These rumours were quashed by Kohli himself, who not only condemned them but also called those publications “not credible”. Virat Kohli Was smiling when he was replying "I am available for the selection all this time (ODI Series vs South Africa). Should be asking me these question, you should ask this who are writing these stories and sources, they're not credible." pic.twitter.com/N4afCq3yW9 — CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) December 15, 2021 Another “report” suggested that the infamous and mythical rift between Kohli and Sharma had once again come alive in the middle of the chaotic mishandling of the latter’s firing as white-ball captain. This was again refuted by Kohli in the press conference when he emphasised the fact that he was tired of justifying his relationship with Rohit Sharma. Amid the surge of such not-so-accurate reports from all over the country, an old and rare interview with Mahendra Singh Dhoni has once again come to light in which the former Indian skipper dealt with false news about his alleged relationships with humour. "Please don't change my girlfriend every two days. It's tough to keep track as I am linked to a new girl so often. If you are forcibly linking me to someone, then at least the alliance should last a little long," he responded with a smile on his face. People weren’t spending so much time online, getting involved in controversies and even creating some of them out of their own imagination. View the full article
  12. The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is nearly half-a-year away but the franchises have already started laying out the groundwork. With the mega auction coming up, the preparations for the tournament are in full swing, with the teams finalising the list of players they want to retain and sending the rest of the names to go under the hammer. © Twitter/IPL According to reports, reigning IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) () have almost made up their mind about four players who they want to save from the bidding war. As expected the franchise has decided to defend their title next year under the captaincy of their talismanic leader Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Besides Dhoni, the four-time champions have decided to retain this year’s Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, while the fourth name is yet to be finalised. As per The Indian Express report, the franchise’s first-choice for their last retention spot is England all-rounder Moeen Ali but if he doesn’t agree then they will approach his compatriot Sam Curran with the same proposal. © Twitter/IPL After Dhoni guided CSK to their fourth IPL title last month, it was more or less expected that they would retain him for the next season. However, what has surprised the fans is the fact that the franchise wants to retain him for not just one season but next three years. However fit he may be, no one can deny that the former Indian skipper, who turned 40 in July this year, isn’t getting any younger and has lost the touch. He isn’t the same batter who used to instill fear in bowlers’ minds and it reflected in the way he struggled to score runs throughout the IPL 2021. © Twitter/IPL Even Dhoni’s die-hard fans were surprised to learn that the franchise is planning to spend a huge chunk of their money on retaining a player of his age, who is not a fraction of his old self. They could have easily made him their third or fourth choice retention and saved some purse and used that amount over strengthening their squad with an eye on the future. Ye log pagal ho gya kya sach me? But Dhoni publicly quashed his IPL retirement rumours saying that he intends to play his farewell match at his second home -- MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. © Twitter/IPL “I have always planned my cricket. My last ODI in India was in Ranchi. Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it’s next year or in five years’ time, I don’t know,” Dhoni said during an event organised by his franchise in Chennai. © Twitter/IPL Just to be clear, I am not against Dhoni’s wish of retiring in front of his home crowd. But let’s be honest, even a mind like him doesn’t know what the future holds for him in the next two-three years. By retaining him for the next three seasons, CSK are taking a huge punt and nobody knows if it will pay its dividend or end as a massive failure. View the full article

From meeting the US President (played by Meryl Streep) to leaking the news on the Internet, they try everything possible, however, no one believes them. 14. Three years ago, we all woke up to disturbing news that left all of us stunned and made us question all the beliefs of society. 11 members of the Chundawat family were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their home in Burari, New Delhi. Netflix has come up with a documentary based on these deaths titled House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths. If you have seen it, you would agree with us that it would have left you with anxiety and unanswered questions that were enough to keep you awake during the night. As we have seen the documentary, we can tell you that the access that the filmmaker Leena Yadav had to all the sources that were connected to these deaths is expansive and she chose to divulge into all the theories that were floating around on the internet about their deaths. She also focused on how the media handled the case. She also showed the perspective of the policemen who were investigating the case. The Police officials were under a lot of stress and pressure as this had become a very high-profile case. The Chief Minister himself went to the scene to get a ground report. In the documentary, you will get to see how police got hold of the registers from the house that showcased the family has been blinding believing one man in the house, Lalit, who was the mastermind of all the things that mysteriously happened in the household. For 11 years, Lalit was making the family do questionable things as he believed his deceased father used to guide him. The people who have watched the show have been sharing their opinions on social media. The viewers have shared how the documentary is not for people who can’t digest the gory details and how it has impacted the psyche of people who have watched the show. Here are the reactions: © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter In a conversation with Hindu, she shared, “This particular case really got my attention. I wanted to know the why and how of it, and I was not satisfied with the information around me. So when Netflix asked if I had a subject for a documentary in mind, this was on the top of my list. I wanted to investigate it myself as this case has so many layers and we haven’t learnt about a single one yet.” She went on to add, “I have tried to evolve my own style of a documentary telling in House of Secrets. The subject defines the style, and I find that when the visual language, the edit, and the structure serve the telling of the story, it elevates the experience.” Elaborating on the challenges she faced during the shoot, she said, “We [Indian society] are not very aware of documentaries, and as we genuinely live by the rule ghar ki baat ghar mein hee rehni chahiye [private matters should remain within the four walls of the house], getting people to open up was a bit difficult. But the fact is that people also want to talk about it. Additionally, it was a very emotional subject at various levels. It was painful — especially interviewing the friends and family — but the lessons learnt were many.” The documentary went on air on October 8 and is worthy of your time and attention.
