  1. Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are without doubt two of the most successful captains to have led the Indian cricket team. They are also elite batters and have managed to turn their names into globally recognisable brands. Despite all the money they earn in the world, these cricketers tend to remain grounded and simply wish to spend their daily lives like casual human beings. However, when it comes to their fans, the case is not the same. View this post on Instagram Recently, Virat Kohli fans decided to fake ‘Goat Hastags’ on Twitter to create the illusion that the micro-blogging website had decided to honout him with a hashtag of his own, as it does for special people, organisations and events. For the uninitiated, ‘Goat’ is an abbreviation for ‘Greatest Of All Time’ and is often used by followers of different athletes from different sports as a means of support and placing them at the pinnacle of their respective games. Wow , Virat Kohli got a GOAT Symbol hashtag on Twitter GREATEST OF ALL TIME ... #ViratKohli𓃵 pic.twitter.com/SEWcjgZdaH — Cric-Crazy Lad (@CricCrazyLad) February 23, 2022Born to Rule #ViratKohli𓃵https://t.co/GPuHUZJpw4 pic.twitter.com/wd6zjOIcWx — ANUSH CHIKU𓃵 (@VK_addictor) February 23, 2022While Twitter does create specific hashtags on special occasions, attacking Virat Kohli’s name with the Goat emoji was not the doing of the social media platform. Instead, some of his followers simply added the animal’s emoji next to Kohli’s name in a hashtag and spread the false news all over the internet that Twitter had come up with the form of salutation. Surely enough, it did not take long for the rest of Kohli’s fans to believe the false narrative and within a couple of hours, the hashtag got trending all over the world. He has been a GOAT and always going to be. — V.Bakshi (@VivaanBakshi) February 23, 2022— Sandeep (@atomicsandeep) February 23, 2022The Goat .. — Seemant Sahu (@seemant_sahu_) February 23, 2022When some of the MS Dhoni fans caught wind of the hashtag business, even they started doing the same with the Chennai Super Kings skipper’s name. Shortly after, Rohit Sharma fans joined the gang and then it was simply a fiasco around Twitter and how all three of the Indian icons got the same emoji attached to them. It is incredible how all of these cricketers wish to be a part of each others’ success and have mentioned more than once of their camaraderie and chemistry on the field. Even then, practically every single day of the year, their fans managed to find one way or the other to draw comparisons between them and get into the fight about who is the better player.
