Unlike popular opinion that folks wouldn’t want to vacation in India if they had a chance to fly abroad, claiming that India doesn’t have as many picturesque views as countries around, I believe that India is a lot more beautiful than we give it credit for. In fact, it’s not at all that India isn’t scenic, it’s just that we don’t let it stay scenic for too long, especially with people around who don’t give a care in the world while destroying natural beauty, just for the purpose of their thrill. Shocking behaviour and hooliganism shown in Ladakh by some tourists. Shakun Batra's Gehraiyaan, starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa, is one of the most awaited movies and has been in the news since its inception. As the makers dropped the trailer, people were impressed with how the filmmaker has decided to decode the millennial language. Deepika plays Alisha, who is in a relationship with Dhairya’s character. Ananya plays her cousin, who is engaged to Siddhant’s character. But relationships get complicated when Deepika and Siddhant’s characters start falling for each other. In the end, they even asked a rather important question if they are messed up people. For those people who saw the trailer have been calling it a tale of modern love that has its own darkness. Here’s the trailer: Some people on social media are not happy with the trailer as they think the movie will land up glorifying infidelity and will promote cheating. Here are the reactions: © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter We totally loved the trailer and have a feeling it’s more than what people are perceiving of it. We would suggest to watch it before making a perception. Deepika did talk about the intimate scenes and gave us an idea that it’s way more than just infidelity in the movie. Talking about the intimate scenes, she said, “I don’t think it would be possible without the comfort that he (Shakun) has given all of us. You feel you are working in an extremely safe and secure environment because intimacy is not easy. It is not something that we have ever experienced or explored in Indian cinema before, in the way we have in this film. So, to go down that route of intimacy, of vulnerability, is only possible when you know that the director is not doing it for the eyeballs, but he is doing it because that’s just where the characters are coming from, through their journey and their experiences.” View this post on Instagram She said, “All I can say is that I have not done something like this before. I have done films and a lot of characters that are love stories or relationships dramas. I want to say that my character in Gehraiyaan is bold. I also don’t want to say bold because (of) the way we understood bold in our films and the characters that we’ve seen. So, I’d say raw. I think, for me, this character is a lot more raw and a lot more real than some of the other characters that I have played. Emotionally, it is completely stripped and naked in that sense, and completely vulnerable. I think to be able to do that on screen, it has to come from a very deep place. It is not to say that I haven’t experienced that before. But, not to this extent, where I have to really dig deep and go to the places that aren’t really that pleasant, and are not really pleasant experiences from my own life, as well as dealing with mental health issues.” Here’s the link to the full press conference: Her statements do suggest there is a lot more than meets the eye! Karan Johar also added, “At the face of it you might think it is a film about infidelity-based relationships but it is not just that. It is talking about so much more, choices and consequences of so much more.” He went on to add, “It is a film that you have not seen. It is a film about the power of love, lust and longing by the millennials and how they react to love, lust and longing and how it is about the choices that they can make. Sometimes lust takes precedence over love, sometimes love takes the bashing for its innocence.” View this post on Instagram Expressing his point of view, Shakun said, “In those films what always used to happen is we used to talk about finding a soul mate and then call it infidelity. I don’t think love stories or relationships happen like that. It is not infidelity under the garb of finding the one or finding the true love. We are trying to understand and explore relationships that are outside the conventional boundaries. In today’s time how relationships unravel today, it is people looking at love differently, it is not always finding the one but what you feel in the moment.” In our opinion, the movie is addressing the chaos we have within us and the choices we make. People judged Sara Ali Khan's Atrangi Re and bashed her and Akshay Kumar for romancing each other but their story was altogether different. It’s probably better to watch the movie before you judge it! Originally scheduled to release at the end of January, Gehraiyaan was pushed by some days. It is Dharma’s second major release on Prime Video, following last year’s successful war drama Shershaah, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. It will now release on February 11. Olympic gold medalist and javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has once again created a huge amount of buzz around himself but not for his brilliance as an athlete but as an actor, while starring in a hilarious CRED commercial advertisement. The credit-card payment application company, which runs unique advertisement campaigns with the most unlikely brand ambassadors, had Chopra address all the issues and questions he had come across in the Indian community ever since he bagged the top spot at Tokyo Olympics 2020. © YouTube - Cred These included things like a marketing team portraying him as the “Youth Icon” of the nation, reporters shoving the microphone in his face asking him about his personal relationships, marriage plans and whether or not he had a “biwi or a girlfriend” and even contemplating selling his gold medal for a hefty price. However, the funniest bit of this 40-second video was Chopra portraying the role of a film director offering to make multiple films on his career. “Neeraj Hua Maddham” and “Medal Le Chuke Saman” were two of the film titles he was offered. This was an obvious jab against the fans who were already requesting biopics and films based on the life of the 23-year old. © YouTube - Cred The advertisement also highlighted the typical Indian mentality about the need to pursue an MBA degree despite being phenomenal in another field and practicing cricket shots with a javelin depicting the preference the game of cricket gets in the country, even if there are other athletes who are topping world charts in different sports as well. Watch the full advertisement here: Additionally, the javelin Chopra used to win the Olympic gold has been put on auction by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The spear has already received a bid for over Rs. 10 crore with the event still open for higher bids until October 7. Last week, a report shared by YouGov SPORT, a research consultancy firm, suggested that due to the constant buzz around the Olympian due to his victory in Japan, everything that had followed in his life ever since, Chopra’s social media worth has ballooned up to over Rs. 428 crore and that he had surpassed top-tier cricketers like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant in online popularity in this brief stint. The last couple of years have been phenomenal for Rohit Sharma. After dominating limited-overs cricket, the ‘Hitman’ has resurrected his Test career, piling up heaps of runs in different parts of the world. Rohit is one of the most technically gifted batsmen of this generation but the talent alone is not enough to succeed at the highest level. The reason why he is regarded as one of the best all-format batsmen is because he always wants to improve and works really hard on his technique. View this post on Instagram However, the expectation from Rohit is such that experts feel that there is still room for improvement in his batting, at least in the IPL. Former Indian cricketer and selector Saba Karim feels Rohit may have won back to back trophies but he hasn’t delivered with the bat to his full potential that we know he can. “There's a need for improvement in his batting. He's the captain and the Mumbai Indians are winning trophies under him, that's a different thing. They have a lot of match-winners so his performances don't get much attention,” YouTube channel Khelneeti. © Twitter/Mumbai Indians “His most important role in the team is as a batsman... This is a peculiar case. Every time he goes to the IPL he's in brilliant form in international cricket but fails to convert it during the tournament,” said the former wicketkeeper. “I sometimes feel that a player gets consumed too much into captaincy and it's possible his focus wavers from batting. If you are a batsman-captain, your first role is to make runs with the bat. Captaincy gets better with the confidence from batting which has happened in Rohit Sharma’s case as well,” he added. © Twitter/IPL Rohit has guided Mumbai Indians to back-to-back IPL trophies in the last two seasons and they are hoping to become the first team in the history to complete a hat-trick of IPL titles. Mumbai Indians are one of the most balanced sides in the tournament, with their highlight being their core group of Indian players. The fact that India’s T20 World Cup squad that was announced last week had six Mumbai Indians players in it only shows the quality of their India talent. © BCCL Having so many quality players definitely works to Mumbai’s benefit as the team is not dependent on a single individual but, at the same time, if a player is not performing his performance might not get the same attention as it would have in any other team. As for Rohit, he was in decent form when the IPL 2021 was postponed in May. With 250 runs from the first seven matches, he was one of the leading run-scorers. He was averaging nearly 36, which is way more than his overall IPL average of 31.49. © Twitter/IPL So, Saba Karim perhaps didn’t go through his record before passing on his remarks. He reminded us of typical Indian parents who, no matter how hard you work, are never pleased with your efforts. View the full article

"Not all men". This phrase is making more sense with each passing day. Why? Because there are stereotypes that are imposed on men as soon as they take their first breath and are seen from the same lens till their death. Statements like “all boys are into sports” or “he must be a car or bike fanatic” are casually thrown by people who think all men are built the same way. However, that is far from true. © Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions Not all men like action movies or think it’s cool to smoke just because society thinks it’s okay for a guy. Men have their own preferences be it movies, interests or anything in the universe. This is not the 1700s and men cannot be defined by or confined to a few macho things anymore. © Aamir Khan Productions A group of men recently discussed all the ‘manly things’ that they are supposed to like but in fact, find quite unappealing. From strip clubs to fights, not all men are into those things. And, this Reddit thread is one of the most relatable and wholesome discussions that men are having. © Bays & Thomas Productions Here are some manly things that men confessed to not liking, despite being expected to by society: 1. Strip Clubs Aren’t That Exciting For All Men"Especially strip clubs. The idea of having to pay for a woman to touch me is just a sad thought. Also being surrounded by a bunch of horny dudes doesn’t sound like a good time" 2. Hunting? Killing Animals Shouldn't Be Manly Or Fun “Hunting. I grew up in the country and hunted as a kid. As an adult, there are so many other things I'd rather do than go sit in the cold for several hours.” 3. A Man Is A Man Even If He Doesn’t Like To Smoke A Cigar"Cigar smoking. Every time I’ve tried it can’t get the taste out for days." © iStock 4. If You Are The Man, You Must Mow The Lawn. No!“Mowing the lawn. That shit is a chore, not a passion project.” 5. Beer. Or Any Alcohol Really“Guys are suppose to like Beer for some reason and to me it’s disgusting.” 6. Not Every Man Is Into Cars. And, That’s Okay"Cars. I will never understand why so many guys spent so much money adding large spoilers or loud exhausts or body kits...it always seemed like a huge waste of money IMO." © iStock 7. When Did Sports Become Gender-Specific?“I couldn't care less about sports of any kind and that often gets me some side-eyes from other men.” 8. Action Movies Are Fun. Not For Everyone, Though. "Action movies are boring as f**k, honestly. I know car chases and shootouts and explosions and plane crashes are meant to be exciting, but they're the total opposite to me." © iStock Do you relate to any of these? View the full article

There is no better feeling for an athlete than winning an Olympic gold medal. It’s hard to control emotions and the same happened with Australia swimmer Kaylee McKeown after she won the women's 100m backstroke gold at the Tokyo Olympics. The 20-year-old swimmer won the gold with a new Olympic record timing of 57.47 seconds, which was marginally outside her own world record timing that she had set during the Australian Swimming Trials earlier this year. The interviewer Nathan Templeton asked her what she would like to say to his mother and sister. Not realising that she was on Live TV, McKeown yelled: “**** Yeah!”. Realising that she had swore in front of the whole world, she covered her mouth the very next moment and said: “O Shit!”. McKeown’s reaction got mixed response on the micro-blogging site, some people criticised her for not setting the right example for kids, while others defended her saying her reaction was a typical ‘Aussie response’ and they understood it came out of excitement. A few people before the race came up and said to just have all the faith in the world that you have got this," she said during the post-event interview. © Reuters Despite suffering a huge loss last year, McKeown didn’t lose her focus and went from strength to strength, deriving motivation from the tattoo she got on her foot that read ‘I'll always be with you' in her father’s memory.
