  1. Hollywood star actress Gal Gadot has been over the moon in recent years, especially after landing the role of Amazonian superhero warrior Wonder Woman. The actress, despite the failure of Zack Synder's Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice film, truly made the role of Wonder Woman her own, adding her own personality to it in a way that gained huge popularity. © WB Now, having done two standalone Wonder Woman films already, you'd feel that a top star like Gal Gadot must really be having things easy in Hollywood. Well, to everyone's surprise, this was far from the actual case, with the 36-year-old actress revealing that she was threatened on the sets of the Warner Bros' Justice League movie by filmmaker Joss Whedon. © Reuters Whedon had taken up the Justice League movie shortly after Zack Snyder stepped down from the project, and as per Gadot, he had been a nightmare to work with. Opening up on the horrors faced during the filming, Gadot admitted that she was actually shaking and felt dizzy when Whedon threatened her. "Oh, I was shaking trees as soon as it happened. And I must say that the heads of Warner Brothers, they took care of it... Going back to the sense of righteousness that I have... You're dizzy because you can't believe this was just said to you and if he says it to me, then obviously he says it to many other people. I just did what I felt like I had to do. And it was to tell people that it's not okay." she said. The actress also questioned whether Whedon's attitude towards her would have been different had she been a man. "I would've done the same thing, I think if I was a man. Would he tell me what he told me had I been a man? I don't know. We'll never know. But my sense of justice is very strong. I was shocked by the way that he spoke to me. But whatever, it's done. Water under the bridge," she told Elle © WB As per a witness on the sets of the movie, Whedon had actually gone on to brag about making Gal his own puppet. "Joss was bragging that he's had it out with Gal. He told her he's the writer and she's going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie." the witness said. Gal had earlier spoken up about the incident on how she actually decided to take a stand and do something about it. "What I had with Joss basically is that he kind of threatened my career and said if I did something he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot," she said. Well, it seems like Gal Gadot is not just Wonder Woman on the screen but actually chooses to stand for good in real life as well. Kudos to her! View the full article

  3. It has been years in the making, and it's finally here. Well, almost. There hasn't been a more highly-anticipated movie in recent times than Zack Snyder's Justice League. After months and months of campaigning, the fans made it happen and we'll actually get to see the movie the director intended, instead of the Justice League we saw in 2017. © Warner Bros. The first trailer of Justice League: The Snyder Cut is finally here and it feels almost the exact opposite of the 2017 movie. The movie feels dark, the movie feels exciting, the movie looks pretty cool, to be honest, and it does look like the years of hype surrounding the Snyder Cut is well worth it. © Warner Bros. Opening it with Lex Luthor’s “The god is dead” and ending it with Jared Leto’s Joker saying "We live in a society", this alone is enough to make all the fans go crazy. All the superheroes - Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg - are once again teaming up to save the planet, and going by the trailer, it's going to be a hell of a lot better than the first time around. While we won't know if the Snyder Cut actually improved the movie until it starts streaming on HBO Max on March 18, it does look like it's ready to redeem itself. Obviously, people are extremely excited about it and are going crazy over the trailer. #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague isn’t a cul-de-sac...it’s an eight lane superhighway!!!#Snydercut pic.twitter.com/O9xvzfZAXP — Ray Fisher (@ray8fisher) February 15, 2021 No one's more ready than Zack Snyder himself. Holy shit they unironically had the Joker say "We live in a society". I can't believe this is real. — Mumboejumboh (@Mumboejumboh) February 14, 2021 Can't wait. This man is incredible! Cannot wait! #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #SnyderCut https://t.co/xwheyvvM32 — Christopher Thiel (@C_THIELgd) February 14, 2021 So excited. WE ARE BEYOND EXCITED TOO ADAM!!! #SnyderCut https://t.co/BAOz2b0RXz — #SnyderCut ♎ MARCH 18TH (@RTSnyderCut) February 15, 2021 That is the case with almost everyone. Never been more hyped for a film than I have for the #SnyderCut https://t.co/ptfBArq2Do — adam (@ajclerck) February 14, 2021 Hmm. You are probably spot-on, and I'm 100% ok with it! — Sky! (@SkyFlygare) February 14, 2021 Yep. This sequence is so perfect. #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/O8gnRWl4F1 — Stephen M. Colbert (@smcolbert) February 14, 2021 Definitely. Zack adding the “we live in a society” line was a stroke of genius. That line alone is doing absolute wonders in the promotion of this film, especially on Reddit. They are going crazy over it. #SnyderCut #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague — Fabrice 🇨🇲 Black Lives Matter (@freshyrosay) February 15, 2021 Okay then. I think today's trailer shows why they didn't want Snyder to do this in 2017. It's not a cul de sac, it's a point of no return. And they didn't want people to demand more of this. #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #SnyderCut https://t.co/YLeWmJ87wR — Stephen M. Colbert (@smcolbert) February 15, 2021 Sure. #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague is going to be a filmmaking lesson for everyone to not cut out the meat from a film just to fit a certain runtime. One criticism against Snyder has been that it's "all style, not substance". Zack's style IS substance and the visuals tell you the story. pic.twitter.com/XG6pmuCT6J — Krypton Caged ™ ⚒ | 03.18.21 (@kryptoncaged) February 14, 2021 View the full article
  4. When it comes to overly hyped-up movies, Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League has almost every other movie beat, maybe even Avengers: Endgame. The movie is one of the most anticipated movies in recent times, just because of how much people hated the 2017 Justice League and are living in hopes that Zack Snyder's cut would be a million times better. © Warner Bros. While the journey that this cut has taken really shows the power of fans as they were the driving force behind it, did the hype for the movie, actually, go beyond the reasonable amount? Yes, people are going to watch the movie, and yes, people are desperately waiting for it, but with so much waiting and anticipation, a lot of people fear that the expectations are too high and maybe, the movie won't be able to meet them, and that's me sugar-coating it right now. 5. DC fans have been waiting for nothing else other than the highly-anticipated Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, ever since the movie actually released in 2017. And finally, their wish is coming true. The entire 'release the Zack Snyder cut' campaign online actually worked and a new, probably better, version of the movie is all set to come out in 2021. © Warner Bros He elaborated further, "There's one scene where Batman drops an F-bomb. Cyborg is not too happy with what's going on with his life before he meets the Justice League, and he tends to speak his mind. And Steppenwolf is pretty much just hacking people in half. So [the rating would be due to] violence and profanity, probably both." View the full article
  6. LOS ANGELES: Disney-Pixar?s ?Coco? handily won the Thanksgiving holiday box office over the second weekend of Warner Bros.-DC Entertainment?s ?Justice League,? with $71.2 million at 3,987 North American sites during the Wednesday-Sunday period. ?Justice League? pulled in $60 million at 4,051 locations during the same timeframe. The superhero action-adventure, the fifth in the DC Extended Universe, has totaled $172 million in its first 10 days. ?Coco? posted for the third-best Thanksgiving holiday opening ever, trailing three other Disney titles -- ?Frozen? with $93 million in 2013, ?Moana? with $82 million in 2017 and ?Toy Story 3? with $80 million in 2010. Audiences surveyed by comScore?s PostTrak gave ?Coco? strong ratings with 66% calling it ?excellent,? and another 23% rating it ?very good.? Surveys also showed 77% of viewers saying they would ?definitely recommend? the movie to friends and 20% saying they would watch it again in a theater. ?Coco,? directed by Lee Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina, is based on the traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead holiday in Mexico and centers on a 12-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a musician and explores his family history in the Land of the Dead. The studio has not released a price for the movie. Disney-Pixar titles are usually budgeted in the $175 million to $200 million range. ?Justice League,? which teams up the DC characters in the same manner as Disney-Marvel?s superheroes, is already in the top 15 of titles released in 2017 and has opened with a B+ CinemaScore. It?s been the lowest performer among the DC Extended Universe. ?Wonder Woman? grossed $206.3 million in its first 10 days in June and ?Suicide Squad? took in $222.6 million in its first 10 days in August 2016. Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman along with Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as the Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg as the superheroes team up to save the world. Warner Bros. has not disclosed the production cost, which is believed to be as much as $300 million. Lionsgate?s family drama ?Wonder? continued to show impressive traction in third place with about $32 million at 3,140 locations for a 10-day total of more than $69 million. The film, which stars Jacob Tremblay as a fifth grader with a facial deformity, has a modest $20 million budget. Disney-Marvel?s ?Thor: Ragnarok? finished fourth with about $24 million at 3,281 sites, lifting its 24-day domestic total to $277 million. It?s topped ?Despicable Me 3? as the sixth-highest grosser of 2017. Fox?s ?Murder on the Orient Express? and Paramount?s ?Daddy?s Home 2? tied for fifth over the five days, both with $18.6 million. ?Orient Express? has totaled $74.2 million domestically in its first 17 days while ?Daddy?s Home 2? has earned $72.7 million in the same period. Sony Classics saw stellar returns from its platform release of coming-of-age drama ?Call Me by Your Name? with $404,874 at four venues in Los Angeles and New York since its Friday launch for an impressive per-screen average of $101,219. That?s the best limited opening of 2017, topping the ?Lady Bird? launch with $364,437 on four screens, and the highest since ?La La Land? opened with $881,104 at five venues last December. Focus Features? ?Darkest Hour,? starring Oldman as Winston Churchill, opened strongly with a $248,000 at four theaters for the five days. The well-reviewed film -- which centers on Chruchill?s early days as prime minister in 1940 with a possible Nazi invasion of Britain looming -- is playing at the Arclight and Landmark in Los Angeles and the Union Square and Lincoln Plaza in New York City. The holiday weekend is one of the busiest moviegoing periods of the year. According to comScore, this year?s five-day Thanksgiving weekend saw total grosses his $268 million -- $7.5 million better than last year?s when ?Moana? opened with $82 million, and ?Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? taking in $65 million in its second weekend.
  7. It might have scored top of the box office, but Justice League didn't have the super opening weekend predicted, falling short of expectations with takings of $96 million, according to industry estimates released Sunday. With an all-star cast including Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, Justice League ? based on the DC Comics superheroes team ? sees a mash-up of classic characters fend off the threat of supervillain Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds). The big-budget Warner Bros production ? which fared better internationally, taking $185 million ? was forecast to earn $110 million in North American cinemas, according to Variety. Meanwhile, in at second ? earning $27.1 million ? was Lionsgate's newly-released Wonder, according to box-office tracker Exhibitor Relations. Starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jacob Tremblay, Wonder follows the journey of August Pullman, a young boy with facial differences, as he enters the fifth grade at a mainstream school for the first time. After thundering to the top spot last week, Thor: Ragnarok slipped into third place in its third weekend in cinemas, taking $21.8 million. Featuring the self-mocking humor of Chris Hemsworth as the powerful Norse god alongside Cate Blanchett as Hela, goddess of death, Thor has raked in an impressive $247.4 million since its release in North American cinemas. Meanwhile, Paramount's Daddy's Home 2 halved its earnings from last weekend, dropping to fourth place with $14.8 million. The festive comedy stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as Brad and Dusty, who join forces to give their kids the perfect holiday ? an effort challenged when their own fathers show up. In at fifth was Fox's Murder on the Orient Express, earning $13.8 million. The fourth television or cinema adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic detective novel, the murder mystery was directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also stars as part of an A-list cast including Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Judi Dench. Rounding out the top 10 were: 1. The Star ($10 million) 2. A Bad Moms Christmas ($6.9 million) 3. Lady Bird ($2.5 million) 4. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri ($1.1 million) 5. Jigsaw ($1.1 million)
  8. LONDON: Saving Metropolis and Gotham City from the clutches of super-villains might be enough pressure for the average caped crusader but the cast of the forthcoming Justice League film also face another equally-terrifying foe: film critics. The film is the latest instalment from the DC comics stable of super-heroes - a series which, with the notable exception of this summer?s ?Wonder Woman?, has met with a less than positive critical response and has failed to match the box office of rival Marvel?s biggest super-hero offerings. The film features a host of major DC characters and box office stars including Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as the Flash. Gadot won both critical plaudits and box office success for ?Wonder Woman?, which was directed by Patty Jenkins, and she is confident that the experience from that film helped her reprise the character in ?Justice League?. ?I had almost no transition from Wonder Woman because I finished Wonder Woman and the next day I went to set to start working on Justice League,? she told Reuters. ?I was already in the character and I only had to serve the story and the context of every scene and just you know be there and serve the director?s vision.? Momoa was hopeful for the film?s prospects, telling Reuters ?I really hope that the fans enjoy what Zack (Snyder, the director) and I have done with Aquaman.? The film?s predecessor, 2016?s ?Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,? grossed just over $870 million at the global box office according to film revenue website Box Office Mojo, but received a 27 percent rating on film review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. Another recent entry in the DC franchise, 2016?s ?Suicide Squad,? opened to an equally poor critical reception, and took around $745 million at the global box office. While both totals are not insubstantial, they are dwarfed by Marvel?s big hits - 2012?S ?The Avengers? and 2015?s ?Avengers: Age of Ultron,? which took $1.5 billion and $1.4 billon respectively. Audiences in 2017, however warmed to ?Wonder Woman,? which grossed over $80 million more at the US box office than ?Dawn of Justice,? as well at proving a hit with critics, garnering a 92 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
