Kangana Ranaut alleges Amir Khan is behind the 'Laal Singh Chaddha' boycott
ADMIN posted a blog entry in Geo News Blog
Kangana Ranaut believes that Aamir Khan has curated negative buzz around his new film Laal Singh Chaddha -
Early in his career, there was a time when even Aamir Khan used to do multiple films in a single year. However, in the late ‘90s, he decided to go for quality over quantity and by the ‘00s, he opted to work on only one film at a time. Since he made this change in his career, Aamir has been unstoppable at the box office. So much so, that in the last 22 years, Aamir has delivered only three duds - Mela (2000), Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005) and Thugs of Hindostan (2018). Often touted as a perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan is now returning to the big screen after four years with Laal Singh Chaddha, an official Hindi remake of 1994 cult Hollywood classic Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. However, a lesser-known fact is that Laal Singh Chaddha isn’t the first Hollywood remake that Aamir is starring in. It is probably the first official one because Aamir has a long list of popular films that were copied from Hollywood starting from the early ‘90s. Here’s a look at 12 popular Aamir Khan starrers that were Hollywood remakes: 1. Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991) © T-Series Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin starred Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt and was an unofficial remake of the 1934 Hollywood film It Happened One Night. 2. Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992) © Nasir Hussain Films One of Aamir Khan’s most loved films of all time, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was inspired by the 1979 Hollywood film Breaking Away. The Hindi remake was directed by Mansoor Khan and also starred Deepak Tijori, Ayesha Jhulka and Pooja Bedi. 3. Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993) © Tahir Hussain Enterprises Aamir Khan co-wrote the screenplay of this Mahesh Bhatt directorial that was an unofficial remake of the 1958 Hollywood film House Boat. The film also starred Juhi Chawla and Kunal Kemmu as child actors. 4. Baazi (1995) © Aftab Pictures Before the Academy Award-nominated Lagaan, Aamir Khan worked with director Ashutosh Gowariker in this 1995 action thriller that took inspiration from the 1988 cult hit Die Hard. The film also starred Mamta Kulkarni, Paresh Rawal, Ashish Vidyarthi and Mukesh Rishi. 5. Aatank Hi Aatank (1995) © Suyash Films Pvt.Ltd Aamir Khan also starred in the remake of one of the greatest films of all time The Godfather (1972). Directed by Dilip Shankar, Aamir played the character inspired by Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone. The film also starred Rajinikanth in a prominent role. 6. Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995) © Venus Movies It seems like 1995 was a year of Hollywood remakes for Aamir Khan as he starred in Mansoor Khan’s Akele Hum Akele Tum alongside Manisha Koirala. The film was an unofficial remake of the 1979 Academy Award-winning film Kramer vs Kramer. 7. Ghulam (1998) © Vishesh Films Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the much-loved film starred Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Sharat Saxena. Produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Ghulam was a remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s 1988 film Kabzaa starring Sanjay Dutt, which was a copy of 1954 Marlon Brando starrer On The Waterfront. 8. Mann (1999) © Maruti International Starring Aamir Khan, Manisha Koirala and Anil Kapoor, Mann was directed by Indra Kumar. The film was heavily inspired by the 1957 Hollywood film An Affair To Remember. 9. Rang De Basanti (2006) © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures Well, not exactly a remake but the basic plot of the film where a group of students create a play/ documentary seems to be inspired by the 1989 film Jesus of Montreal. The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial also seems to have taken inspiration from the 1948 film All My Sons. 10. Fanaa (2006) © Yashraj Films Starring Aamir Khan and Kajol, the second half of Fanaa seems to be inspired by the 1981 Hollywood film Eye of the Needle and the 1999 Korean film Shiri. 11. Ghajini (2008) © Geetha Arts Starring Aamir Khan, Asin, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat, Ghajini was a remake of a Tamil film of the same name that was heavily inspired by Christopher Nolan’s breakout film Memento (2000). 12. Dhoom 3 (2013) © Yash Raj Films The third instalment in the Dhoom franchise took inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s 2006 film The Prestige. View the full article

Aamir Khan and the crew of his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha were criticised for littering Wakha village in Ladakh after the shoot. Aamir, in particular, was accused of having double standards as he speaks of environmental cleanliness but in reality, he polluted the beautiful land of Ladakh. “This is the gift Bollywood star Amir Khan’s upcoming movie Lal Singh Chada has left for the villagers of Wakha in Ladakh. Amir Khan himself talks a lot about environmental cleanliness at Satyamev Jayate but this is what happens when it comes to himself,” wrote a Twitter user named Jigmat Ladakhi and shared the clip wherein one can see the plastic bottles spread across the area. Some felt these were just rumours while some said that Aamir’s team should clean the place every day. Now, Aamir Khan and his team have denied all these allegations in a statement. In the statement, Aamir Khan Productions team said, "To whomsoever it may concern: AKP (Aamir Khan Productions) would like to clarify that as a company we follow strict protocols for cleanliness in and around our shooting spaces. We have a team which makes sure that the location is kept trash-free at all times. At the end of the day there is a re-check of the entire location. Replying to a statement shared by the team, Jigmat Ladakhi took to Twitter and wrote, “Our main concern was to protect the fragile environment of Ladakh not to defame anyone. I tweeted on the basis of eye witnesses of many people who went to the location to see the shooting but many of them came home with sad eyes. The video itself is the proof.” He also added, “However, the area has now been cleaned. For those who have been waiting for Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, they will have to wait a tad bit more as the actor has himself updated that they are planning for a release closer to the year-end. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Hollywood star Tom Hanks's 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump. In the original film, Tom Hanks played the role of a slow-witted guy who witnessed some historical events of the United States in the 20th century. In the movie, we are getting to see Aamir as a Sikh guy and people have been waiting to watch him on the big screen as his look from the movie was very well received. The film will span over five decades in the life of the main character. View this post on Instagram With the rising cases of COVID in the country, the entertainment industry was severely hit as filmmakers had to push their release dates. Updating about the release of the film, Aamir shared a video on Aamir Khan Fandom’s YouTube channel. He said, “So we’ll see where it lands but so far things are going well and for now, things seem to be in control. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we should see the film.” While everyone had to deal with Corona, Aamir Khan highlighted that he was dealing with Kareena Kapoor Khan too, who is the lead lady of the movie. On the movie’s delay, he said, “While the rest of the world was dealing with Corona, we were dealing with Corona and Kareena (Kapoor) who was the heroine of the film, she got pregnant, another complication so we are like one more gust of wind has pushed us in another direction.” View this post on InstagramThis was indeed hilarious but we wonder how Kareena would react to this. Aamir announced Laal Singh Chaddha in a media interaction on his birthday in 2019. “I have always loved Forrest Gump as a script. It is a wonderful story about this character. It is a life-affirming story. It is a feel-good film. It is a film for the whole family. It’s a wonderful film so I really like it,” he had said. The film was scheduled to be filmed in dozens of locations around India. Describing the character, Aamir had earlier told Hindustan Times, “This character is very lovable. He’s so innocent… he has got this different way of looking at things. He’s someone you immediately empathize with when you connect. Unless I perform it badly (laughs), then it’s a different game. As a written character, it’s such that you’d fall in love with him straight away.” We are waiting for this big release really eagerly. What about you? View the full article

View this post on InstagramThe exciting part about the movie is that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will be seen in cameos for Aamir’s movie. Fans have a reason to celebrate as three Khans are finally coming together on the big screen. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Shah Rukh discreetly shot for the cameo in Delhi last month. A source told the daily, “The screenplay weaves in iconic moments from each decade and since we love our matinee idols, Chaddha’s journey would be incomplete without certain top stars. So, during this journey of self-discovery. Aamir lands on the sets to Shah Rukh around the release of DDLJ and sharing his personal experiences, engages with the wonder world. He’ll go back to 1995 and look like a younger version of himself with the use of prosthetics and VFX.” The report further stated that Aamir has also been trying to lock Salman for the movie. Salman too will add the 90s flavour as he will reportedly play Prem. “His Prem wooed the audience in the ’90s, from Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hai Koun! to Hum Saath Saath Hai and Aamir is keen to get Salman back as Prem in his social dramedy. There’s a track set in 1989 that depicts a change in audience taste, from action to romance, and a craze around Salman. There are expected to finalize the details soon,” added the source.
