ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsImagine travelling to an exotic island in California, United States and staying at a beautiful lighthouse-turned-inn, sipping tea or coffee from a cup while looking at the water as the sun sets. This thought is beautiful, but it's also giving me stress as I calculate the amount of money one will have to shell out to enjoy this kind of a vacation. But, what if I tell you that you can do all of this and instead of paying for it, you will get a salary in return? And when I say salary, I mean $130,000 i.e. Rs. 91.6 lakhs (approx). If this isn't the best job on the entire f**king planet, I wonder what is. © Facebook It's not a joke! The East Brother Light Station, located in the San Pablo Bay (part of the larger San Francisco Bay) is actually looking for two caretakers for a historic lighthouse, which dates back to 1874. Don't worry, it's not a haunted house, it's actually a bed and breakfast inn, which according to the visitors serves amazing food. © Facebook So, how can you apply for the job? According to their official Facebook page, it's a job for two people, and one of those two must have a U.S. Coast Guard-issued captain's license. If you don't have it, you can't ferry passengers to and from the island, which is a part of your job profile. Other job requirements are housekeeping and serving high quality food. Btw, you also need the right to work in the United States. The current lighthouse keepers are Jillian Meeker and Che Rogers, who have been living here for two years and are now ready to pass the baton to the new keepers. The new keepers will start working in mid-April 2019, after two weeks of training. © Wikimedia The lighthouse was established to "help sailors navigate the misty waters surrounding San Francisco." In 1960s, it was automated and is now owned by the US Coast Guard and maintained by a nonprofit group, East Brother Lighthouse Inc. If you fit the bill, who will you take along with you?
