  1. First dates are special but have high stakes too. It’s not alway what you do and the circumstances that don’t work in your favour (happens to all of us), but sometimes it’s the little things like picking the wrong place that can kill your chances to score a second date. © iStock While a dinner at an expensive restaurant or a coffee date might be too cliche for some people, make sure to not go too overboard to make it unique and one-of-a-kind because date ideas that might sound perfect in theory (or movies, damn you, SRK and your irresistible charm), these could actually end up in a disaster. © iStock Here are five places that sound romantic but are not good for a first date and why they could be an epic fail. 1. To The Movies © iStock For two reasons, this is a bad date idea. First, you are not in high school. And, secondly, you don’t get to see each other, hear each other and know since you’d spend the time all staring at a screen in the dark. 2. A Sport Or Anything Adventurous © iStock Ice skating, river rafting, camping or trekking with no network in phone, sure are fun and exciting but are also dangerous and not fit for the first date since it’s too soon for both of you to trust each other if anything goes wrong. Plus, on the first date, you hesitate to say no to anything spontaneous to look cool and not a wuss, which can make things uncomfortable even if one of you isn't up for anything. 3. A Stand-Up © iStock Sure you could see what makes this person laugh and offends them but it would hardly give you any time to have a chat. What’s worse than taking a girl to a stand-up when you are meeting her for the first time? Sitting with her in the first rows. There are high chances you two would be picked up and roasted baaddd! While it could be fun, the smart thing is to play safe and save it for a later date. 4. Anything With Your/Their Friends © iStock A group activity like bowling, video games at someone’s place, getting drinks at a bar with the squad is a really bad idea. It can put a lot of pressure on them to impress your friends and there can be expectations, judgments from either party even if they don’t say it out loud. Plus, your date also might feel left out and the same goes otherwise for you. 5. A Music Concert © iStock Yeah, you could groove, be sweaty and things can get really romantic when your song or your jam is played. However, it rules out any chances of conversation between you two. Expect a lot of yelling “WHAT!?” and “Yeah, sure” (even when you aren’t sure of what they said) which you don’t really want to hear on the first date. View the full article
  2. One of the most iconic moments in a father-son relationship is the “first shave”. Sharing the same mirror with dad, learning how to maneuver the razor and trying your level best to get the “papa waali moochh”- every man relishes these warm memories. Gillette But there’s a twist. While our dads stood for crew-cut hair and clean shaven faces that show off a chiseled jawline - GenZ had other plans. We like horseshoe moustaches, lumberjack beards and funky goatees - but does dad approve? This Father’s Day, I asked papa to comment on GenZ’s favourite beard styles - and his reactions were absolute gold! Number 1 - The Lumberjack Beard via GIPHY “It looks creative but I’m unable to see that man’s face - it’s covered in beard! And how does he deal with it in the summer heat? Oh and, is that beard allowed at work?” Number 2 - Klingon Beard via GIPHY “Now that’s something I’d like to see on my face too! Slightly high maintenance - but definitely worth trying…. *thinks if he should grow his beard*...Okay, show me Gen Z’s next favourite beard style” Number 3 - Pilot Moustache via GIPHY “This takes me back to our days - a classic moustache, clean shaven face & style max. Now that’s more like my style. Why do today’s youngsters want to grow a garden on their face?” Number 4 - Brad Pitt Goatee via GIPHY “Okay, I’ll give this one a 9/10! So pleasant to look at. It’s a subtle beard with classy cuts...and very well trimmed. Your generation is not all funky, eh? Nice!” While this exercise with dad was heartwarming, celebs too have decided to hit the memory lane on Father’s Day this year. Check-out Manjul Khatter's emotional ode to his pilot dad on Father’s Day! It’ll remind you all of your first shaving experience with dad. View this post on Instagram A post shared by MANJUL KHATTAR 🔥 (@manjullll) Samay Raina also took to Instagram to share a nostalgic (yet funny) Father's Day story! Take a look - View this post on Instagram A post shared by Samay Raina (@maisamayhoon) Neeraj Chopra too shared a touching Father’s Day wish. Take a look! 3. It has been eight years since the iconic show, “The Office” aired its final episode, but so far people still cannot seem to get enough of it. Fans of the mockumentary sitcom still watch the episodes repeatedly to relive hilarious moments from the show, especially surrounding the goofy, hard not-to-like boss at the Scranton-based Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Michael Scott. © Amazon Prime While the overly dramatic, the attention-loving boss made us laugh with and at him over the years, there are reasons to believe that he was actually a true desi parent in disguise. © Amazon Prime 1. MICHAEL LOVES DIWALIDesi parents are big on Diwali! And they are not, I repeat, not afraid to show it to the world. This obviously includes their kids who must follow the protocol of being dressed in a traditional kurta-pajama, while also abiding by the religious ceremonies. © Amazon Prime Well, Michael Scott was no different. In the Diwali episode of the series, not only does the boss invoke his inner “Hindu spirit” by encouraging his entire office staff to take part in the festivities for their Indian colleague Kelly Kapoor, but he also ends up dancing to the groove of Bollywood music, and munching on a Samosa, the most popular desi snack EVER. If that was not all, he also ends up discussing marriage with Kelly’s actual desi parents. Isn’t that what all desi parents do? Have a Diwali party only to end up talking about marriage while gulping down Samosas. Well, Michael, you are a true desi parent. 2. LIKE YOUR DESI PARENTS, MICHAEL CHOOSES TO BE “A LITTLE STITIOUS”Ever seen a black cat cross your path, a diya go off, or a glass bowl shattering on hitting the floor while you are doing something and your parents go like, Abort Mission! Abort Mission!! Well, guess what? The spirit animal of a desi parent found a new home in Pennsylvania’s most adored boss, Michael Scott. As if we did not have enough hilarious Michael Scott quotes to lead our lives by, the Dunder Mifflin Regional Manager came up with an absolute banger during the fourth season of the Fun Run episode, when he said: https://68.media.tumblr.com/602d0a45c2d67b358b196f50092104e8/tumblr_on3pitShzX1um2igbo2_r1_540.gif A computer crash, the death of Angela’s cat ‘Sprinkles’, and a car hitting Meredith (driven by Michael himself. Ouch!) was all it took for Michael to believe that his entire office was cursed. Well, checking from the symptoms, Michael, we believe you have been diagnosed with being an ideal desi parent. 3. MICHAEL HATES LIKE A TRUE DESI PARENT:Neighbors are an important element of our Indian society. Apart from occasionally asking for “ek chammach cheeni or ek cup doodh”, they are Desi parents’ partners in crime for everything, be it gossiping, evening walks, or whatnot. © Amazon Prime However, if a neighbor gets on the wrong side of a Desi parent, there’s no turning back. Unfortunately for Toby Flenderson, the divorced HR representative of Dunder Mifflin, he is that one neighbor that Michael loves to hate. And he has a reason for it. https://relatablefriends.tk/post/139377772055/michael-vs-toby Seems like Michael really “hates him like he loves him” (Delhi Belly, anyone? No? urgh, fine). 4. MICHAEL BELIEVES IN INTERNET SCAMS, JUST LIKE YOUR MUM:Ever had your mummy or papa come up to you in the morning, saying that you are finally rich because they received an email or Whatsapp forward stating that they’ve won a lottery? To be fair to desi parents all over, you are not alone as Michael Scott too is a huge believer in internet scams, so much so, that he ended up losing out a ton of money in a scam. However, he did have a hilarious badass reply to it. © Meme Generator 5. LIKE DESI PARENTS, HE REFUSES TO UNDERSTAND:Remember the good times when you would have a heated argument with your parents and they would agree to understand your point? Yeah, neither do we. One of the most common reasons why your average Indian friend has had to cancel his or her Goa ka plan is because parents ‘nahi maan rahe’. Well, is there a logical reason for it? No. It is just because after a certain point, your desi parents choose to channelize their inner Michael Scott by saying, © Amazon Prime View the full article

  5. Paul Michael Levesque aka Triple H is known for boasting one of the most imposing bodies in the world of pro-wrestling. ‘The Game’ has maintained phenomenal muscle mass over the decades and is surprisingly agile and athletic in movement, despite the large frame. © WWE This only adds credit to his work ethic and the serious effort that he puts in keeping himself healthy, as he is one of the fittest WWE superstars even in his early 50s. Having said that, Triple H is only human after all and considering the fact that it is extremely difficult to maintain the physique, it's no surprise that his body hasn’t always been this way. Triple H’s Bodybuilding Career Before Pro-Wrestling: © India Times Ever since Levesque was a small kid, he was mainly focused on two things, one was pro-wrestling and the other was bodybuilding. He watched his first match at the age of five and was immediately hooked. Paul wanted to look like his idols that he usually watched on screen and so, he decided to take up bodybuilding at the age of 14 while also playing basketball and baseball during his school days. While his dedication to the craft was limitless and it also won him the 1988 Mr Teenage New Hampshire competition at the age of 19, his physique - the most important aspect of a bodybuilder’s career, wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing as it is now. In his fitness book Making The Game Triple H has talked about how he weighed around 60 kgs during his initial days as a bodybuilder and his physique looked like he tried gaining a lot of weight quickly in order to bulk up and then cut down for heavy density muscle mass. Triple H’s ‘Dad Bod’ Phase:never forget when triple h was a fat **** pic.twitter.com/rmcuquNt7r — 2004’ John Cena (@YouuCantSeeMee) April 3, 2017 With an extremely strict diet regime and relentless weight training, even though Triple H successfully maintained an impressive physique through the prime years of his pro-wrestling career, a sudden slump in his body was seen in his latter days when he’d acquired the job of a WWE executive and wrestled part-time. Although there wasn’t a lack of effort on The Game’s part, it was just his body that refused to go through the intense compound exercises and a daily basis. His joints started to ache with his knees and a torn bicep being the biggest causes of worry. Having an aesthetic body wasn’t the primary objective anymore and he knew that it was time for him to switch things up. That’s when he got in touch with Joe DeFranco and took up a most athletic approach towards fitness. Triple H’s Strong Comeback At 47: View this post on Instagram‪The injury: a torn pectoral muscle.‬ ‪The date: November 2, 2018‬ ‪The return: April 7, 2019‬ ‪5 months, 5 days.‬ ‪Thanks to @dugasmd1, @andrews_sports_medicine, @wilk_kevin, @DeFrancosGym, and @durlancastro for getting me ready for #WrestleMania.‬A post shared by (@tripleh) With a loose and flabby torso, Triple H started training with DeFranco and made some significant changes in his diet and workout routine. He added exercises like vertical jumps to platforms and HIIT training for better agility, lateral quickness and a higher basal metabolic rate. He also took up boxing essentially for warming up ahead of some serious functional training. He also suggests that boxing is a lot more entertaining and engaging than simply running for 10-20 minutes on a machine, so that’s working in his favour. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@tripleh) Finally, arguably the most important aspect of getting an impressive physique - the diet. With time, Triple H has developed a liking for Keto which requires you to get most of your calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates. Also Read: Understanding Keto Diet However, his nutritionist Dave Palumbo makes him put a lot of carbs in his body a few weeks ahead of a big event such as the WrestleMania in order to make his body look well-defined and ‘hulky’. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@tripleh) Triple H is a great example of following one’s passion. He knew from a very early age what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and he did everything to the best of his abilities to get there. He is not only a WWE Hall of Fame but also a successful businessman and one of the most humble and compassionate people you could come across and that’s what makes him such an inspiration. 6. It's Father's Day tomorrow and while a social media post doesn't quite suffice for thanking the most important man in our life, it won't hurt to let him know that you love him. Since fathers are the source of our inspiration and the light of guidance for all of us, here are 5 TV characters who played the role of absolute badass fathers and nailed it: 1. Walter White in 'Breaking Bad' A chemistry teacher going through a mid-life crisis and fighting deadly cancer turns into a complete badass when he realises that selling drugs is his only escape to make ends meet for his family to survive. 2. Brad Wolgast in 'The Passage' Brad Wolgast is a federal agent who, even though is not the biological father of Amy, loves and protects her like his own. He saves her from being a pawn in a medical experiment, which is being conducted in a medical facility aided by the government. 3. Logan Roy in 'Succession' He gives his kids a hard time but that is because he believes they need to go through it, as the world is unfair and you have to be strong. Logan makes sure his kids know the value of what they inherit. 4.David Budd in 'Bodyguard' A war veteran suffering from PTSD works in the police protection force as a bodyguard, and he knows how to protect his kin, fiercely. His kind yet strong personality makes him a great onscreen dad. 5.John Winchester in 'Supernatural' John was blinded by revenge and spent most of his time hunting and drinking. He sometimes looks like he's a callous dad but he is very protective of Sam and Dean and even gives up his life for his sons. It's that very tough upbringing that made Sam and Dean one of the finest hunters in the world.
  7. Signed for a then-record transfer fee of 105 million euros, Paul Pogba's arrival at Old Trafford was expected to be pivotal in Manchester United's rise under former manager Jose Mourinho. But, his lack of discipline and regular run-ins with Mourinho made him the subject of immense criticism from pundits and fans alike. His World Cup-winning run with France in Russia gave his United career a second wing. And, after the sacking of Mourinho last December, Pogba was looked upon as the befitting leader who, having overcome his biggest nemesis in Mourinho, would take the Red Devils to places with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm of affairs. But, sadly, that day is yet to come. The 26-year-old United talisman has netted 13 league goals (shockingly the best goalscoring season of his career) and registered nine assists in a season that has been marred by poor and inconsistent performances. However, to everyone's surprise, the Frenchman has been included in the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Team of the Year. © Reuters Pogba is the only non-Liverpool or Manchester City player to have been included in the list. With Ederson finding his place between the sticks, Andy Robertson, Aymeric Laporte, Virgil Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold Trent made up the back four. Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho partnered Pogba in the midfield. And, the likes of Sadio Mane, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling forged the frontline. If the inclusion of Pogba shocked everyone, the fact that he was chosen ahead of Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah further made the fans pull their hair. While Salah has scored 19 league goals and boasts of 10 assists, Hazard has netted 16 goals and has 13 assists to his name this season. Paul Pogba has been named in the PFA Premier League team of the year. In other news, Theresa May has won politician of the year, and Bran Stark has won the inaugural Not Being A Massive Starey Creep award. — Paddy Power (@paddypower) April 25, 2019 On the other hand, the timing of PFA's decision to include Pogba at the expense of someone like Hazard and Salah couldn't have been worse. Despite a poor run this season, when City was getting ready to visit Old Trafford for what was being looked upon as the game that could potentially decide the title race, the United loyalists still believed in Pogba to come good. But, the Frenchman, once again, came up short. © Reuters For someone who is often labelled as the best United player on the field, Pogba's performance came to fully represent the home side's ponderousness against the defending champions' sharpness. As United's stretched and limited backline defended manfully in the first half, they were coming under increasing pressure because their teammates in front weren't able to create the chances, with Pogba, in his role as the main creator, failing miserably to get the ball to Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford quick enough. While the City midfielders required just one touch to get the ball rolling up front, Pogba was taking four which hampered his team's chances. The United talisman was too often too casual with no perseverance and nerve the fans would've seen from great Sir Alex Ferguson sides of the past. And, early in the second half, when Bernardo Silva burst past a number of United midfielders, with Pogba notably left in his wake, the moment of brilliance from the Portuguese summed up the gulf in class between the two teams. As a United fan there's no way Paul Pogba should be in the PFA team of the year! 2 months playing well and a load of penalties isn't anywhere near decent. Embarrassing to be honest — Mark Goldbridge (@markgoldbridge) April 25, 2019 A 0-4 drubbing at the hands of Everton was followed by a 0-2 loss at home for United. And, Pogba's consistent failures on the field, not to mention his casual attitude, continues to prove Mourinho right, making everyone question whether he is the right character and a man worth building a team around. And, United legend Roy Keane couldn't have summed it up any better. © Reuters Going all guns blazing at the Frenchman, Keane minced no words while claiming: "I wouldn't believe a word he (Pogba) says, there's no meaning to it. If you're going to be a good team-mate you have to run back and defend. They said it was heated against Everton – I heard they threw their hair gel at each other". Paul Pogba in PFA team of the year. Seriously ? — Ian Darke (@IanDarke) April 24, 2019 "He's a talented boy, but we've seen him not sprinting back. He's a mature player who's won big trophies and I don't think he leads by example from what I see. I don't know what he's like on the training ground or when they travel. He mentions body language and pride but I don't see it. He's a really talented player but you need more than talent. The really top players make their team and their team-mates better. He doesn't do that. He plays for himself," Keane concluded.
  8. Have you ever felt frustrated when your girlfriend, during an argument, tells you that you are not a good boyfriend? Have you ever felt intense jealousy when she compares you to a fictional character and sighs, ruing the fact that why can't you be as romantic as them? If your answer to the above questions is “Yes”, then this post is just the one for you. Often, while rolling your eyes when something romantic happens on screen (with your girlfriend slyly pointing out how great a boyfriend the character is), you contemplate whether the term “good boyfriend” is a myth. © Pinterest The truth is that you can hardly compare to a fictional boyfriend; the charm, the intensity, the articulation, the good looks, everyone is not blessed with all of these. And even though your girlfriend is well aware of this fact, people can hope, can't they? (Don't act like you have never compared her to Hermione or RobinScherbatsky :P) © 21 Laps Entertainment/Netflix Oft-misunderstood and perpetually trying to achieve the perfection required by the girlfriend, being a boyfriend seems like quite a job, eh? :P But that doesn't mean that every character in fiction, or to be precise, every fictional boyfriend is the stuff of dreams and are faultless. They, like real people, make wrong choices, have fights, do the wrong thing. © Warner Bros. Television/Alloy Entertainment/ The CW In fact, all these years, through various series, novels and movies, we have seen a parade of superficially great fictional boyfriends who get the girl. And the girl seems happy with him. © NBC/ Warner Bros. Television/ Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions After multiple viewings and thorough character analysis, this is the truth we arrive at: All this while, they have been masquerading as perfect boyfriends who can do no wrong while in reality, they are terrible human beings. © Elizabeth Meriwether Pictures/20th Century Fox Teevision So, the next time your girlfriend accuses you of being a bad boyfriend, you can tell her that there are still worse ones out there, and you have fictional characters to back you up. Here are 12 of the worst boyfriends in fiction: 1. Ted Mosby (How I Met Your Mother): © CBS/Bays and Thomas Productions/20th Century Fox Television Intense, dedicated, romantic. He is the most relatable guy on TV. Could there be anything wrong with Ted Mosby? Unfortunately, yes. Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) is one of those people who keep whining because they are not in a relationship and when they are in a relationship, they whine about how it was better being single. He is that proverbial nice guy who makes you feel bad about yourself. Ted is the textbook definition of obsequious; he lets people walk all over him in a relationship just so they continue to be in one with him. No doubt that Ted loves with passion and no one else can love as Ted does, but he lets his emotions get the better of him. His ambition to be perfect always comes in the way of his love. Moreover, he tries to manipulate the person he is dating in his own way and throws a tantrum every time they don't concede. He is sweet, but he tries too hard to prove that he is good and better than the rest of the men on the planet. He is narcissistic in the worst possible way, which overshadow his good qualities. In his quest of becoming the “Best Boyfriend Ever,” he hardly thinks about others, in fact about the girl he is dating. His over the top gestures might seem romantic but he but it just comes across as annoying. The biggest problem is he knows what's wrong with him but conveniently chooses to ignore it. 2. Mr Big (*** and the City): © HBO Oh, where can I start on Mr Big (Chris Noth)? He is perhaps the modern equivalent of Mr Darcy, but a very abominable one. He is handsome, smart, rich and articulate. But all these have no value when you are a douchebag. After proclaiming to Carrie that he is no ready for a serious relationship, he ends up getting married to the next woman he runs into. He is commitment-phobic; he finds relationships stifling and he has no qualms in starting an affair with Carrie when he is married. He is unsure of his own feelings and never says what he means, tries to hide the fact that he is dating from other people because others may judge him for the person he's dating. He never seems to care for Carrie or any of his wives. He loves Carrie but is never sure about it and brings out the worst in her (leaving aside the fact that Carrie is terrible herself) and even after a long, long, long courtship leaves her at the altar. 3. Joe Goldberg (You): © Netflix/Berlanti Productions/Alloy Entertainment/Warner Bros. Television The personification of the “Nice Guy Syndrome”. The more you say about Joe (Penn Badgley, who seems to be cursed to play bad boyfriends, but he does it so well), the less it is. He may be the guy next door, but he is the type who doubles up as a murderer/stalker (talk about multi-tasking :P). He seems to take the notion of loving someone to death quite literally, that“someone” usually turning up dead. Yes, all of it is not his fault, Beck isn't completely innocent, but killing another person isn't justifiable. Doesn't really qualify him to be “Boyfriend of the Year”. Worse is he thinks himself to be the victim and justifies his murdering people with being a “protector”. He is a sociopath: he schemes all his movements to the tee and tries to show himself in the best light possible and can lie with élan. He sweet-talks, fakes the good boy act and gaslights with alarming ease. He is delusional; after only a chance meeting and superficial flirtation, he believes that Beck is meant for him and they met because of some plan, that she belongs to him, then tries to manipulate everything in order to achieve that, eventually even choosing violence on the way to get her. 4. Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries): © Outerbanks Entertainment/ CBS/ Warner Bros. Television Sexy vampires cannot hold a candle to the suave and debonair Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). He is a different kind of bad boy: the supernatural bad boy; not only is he wicked but he also is a vampire (what more can you ask for, right? :P) This does not change the fact that Damon is not the perfect boyfriend material. He is selfish, possessive and fights dirty, is abusive (*drinks blood*) and has the worst possible track record in dating. To his credit, he is not afraid to declare it and that is where the problem is; he is too invested in his interests to care about his partner or anyone for that matter. He loves Elena with a fierce intensity which quickly transforms from compelling to dangerous. His desire for Elena stems from the fact that his brother also wants her; he fights for her, not because he loves her but because he hates to lose. To him, Elena is a prize to be won over, not an equal partner. That is hardly the foundation of a good relationship. 5. Don Draper (Mad Men): © Weiner Bros./Silvercup Studios/Lionsgate Television Don (Jon Hamm) is possibly the king of bad boyfriends, a poster child of what a fuckboy should be. He continually cheats on his wife (because why not, it's the '50s, right?), lies to her and treats her with as much respect as people give to a doormat. A true womanizer, one who would put Casanova to shame, he has a string of girlfriends whom he does not care about and are mostly for his sexual gratification. He tries to run away from responsibilities and can hardly be true to someone. He thinks that money solves all his problems and just spending it or throwing it around on people makes up for all his mistakes. To be true, he is a *** addict and a psychopath, with little regard for the feelings of the person he is involved with. Moreover, he is dominating (again the '50s) and can never let the woman have the upper hand or her opinion for that matter. His dangerous charm, good looks and devil-may-care attitude seem good on paper, but does it hold up in real life? He might be the best advertising mind out there (his only redeeming quality), but an advertisement about his skills as a boyfriend won't take off in the market anytime soon. 6. Jess Mariano (Gilmore Girls): © Warner Bros. Television/Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions Ah, the messiah of bad boys! Brooding, hot and a lover of books makes Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) the perfect fictional boyfriend, but nothing can be further from the truth. Of all of Rory's boyfriends, he is the brashest and most uncouth. He is rude to everyone; his teen angst is misplaced, and his self-assuredness is annoying. His rebel without a cause attitude seems appealing only to Rory, who is blind to his emotional manipulation. He is perhaps the worst “bad boy” trope out there: exasperating the girl he is interested in until she gives in. He makes Rory break up with Dean, with his apparently nonchalant run-ins and woos her by showing how much they have in common, but once he makes her his girlfriend, he takes her for granted and starts ignoring her, doesn't call her back and becomes increasingly rude. To top it off, he tries to force her to have *** with him and gets angry when she declines and runs off to California. Though he seems to have finally turned a new leaf in the reboot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. 7. Rhett Butler (Gone With The Wind): © Pinterest Well, we all know that Rhett (Clark Gable)“frankly doesn't give a damn”. And he means it. A roving eye, a cavalier attitude and a megalomaniacal nature hardly come together to make a good boyfriend. But he is glib, a smooth talker and says what he means and yes, that is very sexy. That's what makes him so desirable to Scarlett O'Hara. Then again, talking is so much easier than doing, isn't it? He is prejudiced, he belittles Scarlett throughout the novel/movie, demeans her (Scarlett isn't exactly the faultless heroine either) and worries only about himself. Just like his slippery talk, his qualities and personality are also “gone with the wind”. 8. Nate (The Devil Wears Prada): © Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer/Selznick International Pictures The most annoying character in “The Devil Wears Prada” has to be Nate (Adrian Grenier), Andy's seemingly perfect (with a slight clothing fetish), saintly (*ahem*) boyfriend. He sulks around the screen like a petulant 5-year-old whose candy has been snatched away. His tantrums are worse than Miranda Priestly, he can easily give her a run for her money in that department. He ridicules Andy every chance he gets; about her job, demeans her job, never supports her and masks it with a veil of fake concern for her. He keeps telling her that she has changed, like that is a bad thing, because she doesn't cater to his every need like she used to. He tries to make her feel bad for choosing her career over him though he has no problem in doing the same and is angry with her when she stands up for herself. He seems very sweet and encouraging but that's a façade for his insecure personality. 9. SteveHarrington (Stranger Things): © 20th Century Fox/Fox 2000 Pictures/Dune Entertainment Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry) is the best babysitter in all of Hawkins. Fashion expert par excellence. Dedicated mother hen to the Stranger Squad.Awesome big bro to Dustin. But as a boyfriend, he is a jerk. Though he does realize his mistake later on (sadly after Nancy has moved on), his abysmal treatment of Nancy (and Jonathan) in the first season makes one's blood boil. He is one of those entitled jocks who run around making others miserable. Also, when Barb dies, he is flippant about it and his lack of emotion is appalling. The indifference about it plays a major role in Steve and Nancy's break-up. He loves Nancy but he has an odd way of showing it; he pushes her to be cool and let down her inhibitions, but he also wants to control her. He wants Nancy to be more free about herself, loosen up, but forgets that she is a reserved person and they need time to open up. As of Season 2, he has redeemed himself as a person, but not as a boyfriend. Ah well, there's still the next season. 10. Ross (Friends): © Netflix/21 Laps Entertainment Ross “We were on a break!” Geller (David Schwimmer) is the epitome of the “Nice Guy Syndrome” (A well-natured cousin of Joe Goldberg in that way). He suffers from intense jealousy, can't seem to comprehend that his girlfriend can have a life which does not revolve around him. He hangs on for Rachel for 10 years, until she gives in. People might call it persuasive and romantic, I say it is borderline stalkerish and psychopathic. He tries to justify his atrocious behaviour by blaming the people around him and tries to prove himself right on a technicality. He does not trust his girlfriends, even though he is hardly perfect. He is extremely conflicted about the possibility of being wrong and thinks himself to be blameless. Touchy about his masculinity is just another feather in his boyfriend's cap. His goofy ways are supposed to be endearing but they don't come across as extremely childish and irksome (at least to me :P). Even when he is not in a relationship with Rachel, he keeps sabotaging her relationships and behaves abominably when he finds out that she is dating Joey. 11. John Willoughby (Sense and Sensibility): © NBC/ Warner Bros. Television/ Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions John Willoughby (Greg Wise) is handsome, chivalrous, classy, eloquent and can make girls go weak in the knees. He can read poetry with dramatic intensity and gusto, he can be effectively charming and speaks with unnatural grace and economy. Granted everything, that doesn't change the truth that he is a flake; a spineless gold-digger who would rather be married to an heiress than to the supposed love of his life who is penniless. He leads Marianne on, takes her on wild horse-rides, is extremely romantic with her, makes her feel that he loves her but does not tell her the truth about himself. Instead, he breaks her heart and goes off to London and ceases communication. When they meet in London again, after Marianne's unsuccessful but relentless attempts to communicate with him, he is cold and acts aloof. The reason? He has been engaged to Miss Grey, who has a formidable fortune and tells her that there was nothing between them. Classic case of “literary fuckboy”: leading on for personal gain. Not only that, he impregnates Eliza, Colonel Brandon's adopted daughter, and runs off leaving her pregnant and helpless. Not so gallant after all! 12. Lucas Scott (One Tree Hill): © Warner Bros. Television/Tollin/Robbins Productions One word: Indecisive. A total and complete jerk! No doubts on this one, please. Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) is like a child with a shiny, new toy: He knows what he wants but doesn't want to work for it. Once he gets what he wants, he doesn't want it. He cheats on his girlfriend repeatedly; does so just before proposing to Lindsay and pulls the quintessential “sleeping with the best friend” when he is with Brooke. He knows that he wants Peyton, but when he finally ends up with her, he behaves in a weird way with her. He has no remorse and is selfish, he just needs what's good for him and does not care what happens to others. Moreover, he thinks that making a grandiose speech about how he loves someone is enough to make the other person forgive him. So, there you have it. Who's the worst according to you? Tell us in the comments!
  9. After what is considered to be one of the greatest comebacks in cricket, Hardik Pandya is here, making a statement and hungry for runs and wickets as he returns from a lower-back injury which he suffered in September 2018 and a suspension for the notorious comments he made on the popular talk show 'Koffee with Karan'. In a heroic return against Kane Williamson's New Zealand in the third ODI, Pandya displayed his greatness as a fielder when he evoked his inner Superman to take Williamson's catch at the mid-on to send the skipper back to the locker room. Pandya also proved his brilliance as a bowler against the Kiwis as he scalped two wickets in the third and fifth match while having a moderate economy rate in the fourth. Finally, the allrounder let the elite batsman in him take over when he wreaked havoc all over the New Zealand bowlers including the in-form pacer Trent Boult, as he thrashed their deliveries left and right to go out of the field and into the stands. However, Pandya's highlight came in the 47th over when he drubbed leg-spinner Todd Astle for three consecutive maximums all around Westpac Stadium. Make no mistake, this isn't the first time Pandya has gone 6-6-6 against the bowlers to become the Devil of their dreams. Here are the five times Hardik Pandya hit a hat-trick of sixes in his career: 1. Vs Pakistan - ICC Champions Trophy 2017 (Group Stage) After Yuvraj Singh was called out for an LBW appeal by Hasan Ali, Pandya entered the field to play alongside skipper Virat Kohli and when Pak captain Sarfraz Ahmed chose left-arm spinner Imad Wasim to deliver against Pandya, he knew this one could be big. 2. Vs Pakistan - ICC Champions Trophy 2017 (Final) This time against Pakistan, Pandya reached the pitch in crisis with six wickets falling before the score of 80 for India. In a failed attempt to bring home the Champions trophy, Pandya humbled Pak leg-spinner Shadab Khan with three straight sixes in the 19th over. This performance also led to Pandya making the fastest half-century in a world ODI final. 3. Vs Sri Lanka - Test Series 2017 (3rd Test) In the third of the three-Test series against Sri Lanka, Pandya decided to play the longest format of the game in a hurry and welcome debutant Sri Lankan bowler Malinda Pushpakumara in a grand gesture. Starting the over with back-to-back 4s, the batsman determined to step it up a little with three consecutive sixes after that, while finally ending the over with a dot, making it the most number of runs scored by an Indian in an over. Pushpakumara to Pandya, 26 runs from the over! pic.twitter.com/QeOgWxBvd6 — Cricking (@CricKingApp) August 13, 2017 4. Vs Australia - ODI Series 2017 (1st ODI) Sending Aussie spinner Adam Zampa for three sixes one after another earned Pandya the name of 'Excitement Machine' by Cricket Australia during the first ODI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Pandya's 83-run innings helped India win the match by 26 runs (DLS method). 5. Vs New Zealand - ODI Series 2019 (5th ODI) And finally, Pandya made a return to his batting ways with a bang against Kane Williamson and the rest of the Kiwis, as he absolutely ripped apart Todd Astle's bowling going 6-6-6 in the 47th over to help Kohli's Indian cricket team win the series 4-1.
  10. Whenever I ask someone about their favourite Indian author before they answer, there is a certain smirk on their face; somehow Indian readers find Indian authors to be not at par with their international counterparts, which is heartbreakingly appalling. Other people respond with the robotic "Chetan Bhagat", “Durjoy Dutta”. Though these authors might be good at what they are doing (I hardly agree), their hogging of the limelight results in the dismissal of their much eloquent contemporaries. I do not believe that Chetan Bhagat's novels contribute or even account to good literature. Unfortunately, most people wouldn't agree with me on this, but everyone is entitled to their opinion (however wrong it might be :P). My guess would be that most of these people haven't read quality Indian literature, if they have read Indian novels, their scope has been limited to the likes of Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta or Ravinder Singh, whose writing is mediocre at best. Contrary to popular belief, India has the finest talents for writing across the globe. It is upon us to explore these authors and be enlightened by their amazing literary works. © Wikipedia International novelists have more appeal in India compared to Indian ones because these feature on the cover of every other bookstore you see, also foreign authors have a charm notwithstanding. Indian media and most reviewers don't cover the work of budding, intelligent writers or post favourable reviews about their work extensively. Only some popular or celebrity writers seem to be the toast of the town even though their writing might be shoddy at best, while the other unrewarded Indian authors get feted at international events but are looked down upon by the home public. © Alamy No wonder most prolific authors move to countries where their talents are better valued. My point is that one should certainly read novels by international authors but should not get stuck on just American or British writers, as Indian authors have a lot to offer. Widen your horizon; Mr. Rabindranath Tagore didn't just get a Nobel for writing a book of poems, he put his heart and soul in it, try to admire the work that goes behind it. You'll be surprised by the gold you can find in the heart of India's literary culture. Though all is not dreary, recent literary festivals and efforts by publishing houses have increased the interest of young readers to read more material written by quality Indian authors. Here are six such prolific Indian authors who have carved a niche for themselves in the literary world with their soul-stirring writing: (Note: These are Indian/Indian-origin writers who write in English) 1. Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni: © Twitter Born in Calcutta and now based in the United States of America, Chitra Banerjee is an accomplished writer, poet and a professor of Writing at the University of Houston. She writes on themes of myth, religion, realism, fiction and most of her novels are based around South Asian protagonists who have immigrated to a foreign land or about the real value of knowing one's true self. Her dreamy prose and lucid writing are some of the best things about her novels. Her novels are beautiful love letters to a reader's heart. Her Popular Works: . The Palace of Illusions: Mahabharata, through the eyes of Queen Draupadi, the novel charts the epic with a new perspective. Written in an uninhibited tone, the writing is clear, and you will feel as though the protagonist is talking to you directly, as a friend does. Some passages are sure to give you goosebumps and Krishna is sure to hit home with his wisdom. One of the best mythological-fiction novels, it traces a tragic romance between Draupadi and the ever-doomed, handsome Karna with the backdrop of the greatest war of all time, asking the age-old question; what is more important: love or duty? You will be left guessing whether it could really have been. . The Mistress of Spices: When Tilo, a spice mistress from a magical island, moves to Oakland, California to help fulfil the destiny of the people who visit her shop with help from the spices, she is unaware of the predicament she will fall into when she starts developing feelings for an American man. How it'll change her role as the spice mistress and will the spices ever forgive her will keep you hooked till the end. The crisp way in which the lead character talks and handles situations is one of the highlights of this one. 2. Jhumpa Lahiri: © YouTube Jhumpa Lahiri is a British-American author of Indian origin, but it is her writing that is so true to her Indian roots that makes her more relatable to us. Born in London as Nilanjana Sudeshana Lahiri, currently based in the United States of America, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Jhumpa Lahiri is one of the best authors on the block. She dabbles with essays in English and Italian as well. Her prose is lucid, eloquent and elusive; just as a boat travels on a swift current of a stream, Jhumpa's words set up the reader's soul on an orgasmic journey of happiness and self-realization. She writes with dexterity and her aptitude for human emotions is unmatched. You will be left pondering over the words long after you have stopped reading, there's a certain nostalgia in the way she writes. Her Popular Works: . The Namesake: When the newly-wed Ashima moves to America with her husband, Ashok, it sets into motion a journey of adapting to a new way of life, not just for her but for both, and the family that they make for the rest of their lives. A struggle to be true to one's roots while trying to fit in a new place full of strangers is what makes this novel a compelling read. . Interpreter of Maladies: Containing nine short stories, this collection which earned her the Pulitzer Prize, touches upon subjects of importance, mostly stressing on immigrants staying in a new environment and their fight to have it all. All stories are beautifully poised and written with the utmost perfection; each story strikes a chord with your heart. 3. Amish Tripathi: © Wikipedia The author who started a revolution with his avant-garde novels; featuring gods and goddesses who start off as humans and reach a state of divinity through their deeds, is a fresh take on mythological fiction. An IIM-educated, former investment banker, he is a full-time, much-awarded, versatile author who is changing Indian writing and the perception of Indian readers. Owing to his financial acumen, his promotion strategies are top-notch like the video trailers for book releases and social media hashtags. His novels give a new perspective on old stories and break the stereotype attached to divine beings. The main theme of his novels is that on the road to divinity, everyone needs to walk the path of humanity. No one starts off heavenly, its one's deeds and actions which make them divine. Another great part of his writing is his liberal ideas and gender equality which is present throughout his novels. His Popular Works: . The Shiva Trilogy: The trilogy charts the journey of Shiva, a gifted human who is fated to be the Neelkanth and his ultimate attainment of the status of God. It also follows his struggles and the trials and tribulations he must face along the way and the politics of the land of Meluha, with the mastermind behind it being Daksha. Superbly written, it turns old fables and stories about gods we have heard from our grandparents into a novel par excellence; be it the infrastructure of the land of Meluha created by Lord Ram, the story about Sati or the tale of the Vayuputras. All the elements of the epics have been incorporated so well, with a storyline so elegant and streamlined, and well-etched characters that it is sure to become one of your favourites. . The Ramachandra Series: Serving as a prequel to the Shiva Trilogy, this series will focus on Lord Ram and how he created Meluha and overcame his shortcomings, it will also focus on Lady Sita and Raavan. The Scion of Ikshvaku follows Ram's birth, his education and eventual exile. It shrewdly observes Raavan's influence on India, following his win over King Dasharth. 'Sita: Warrior of Mithila', reimagines Sita as a skilled warrior princess who oversees the workings of Mithila. The novel follows her through her childhood, marriage to Ram and eventual kidnapping during the exile. 'Raavan: Orphan of Aryavarta' will focus on Raavan and is yet to release. 4. Salman Rushdie: © Pinterest Born in Bombay during British India, Sir Salman Rushdie is regarded as one of the best authors of all time. Though his prose is a bit tedious, with his affinity to use grandiose words, his plotlines are exceptional and formulate quality literature. 'Midnight's Children', his second novel, garnered him the Booker Prize in 1981 and a lifetime of accolades. Not only is he an effusive writer, but he has also dabbled in copywriting; his best work being the tagline “That'll do nicely” for American Express. His debonair charm and colourful personality are well-documented; he can sweep women right off their feet with his wit and wordplay. His Popular Work: . Midnight's Children: It follows Saleem Sinai, who was born at the stroke of midnight on 15th August 1947, at the exact moment when India became independent. The novel charts out the life of Saleem, who is blessed with telepathic powers, and his life after India's independence; his ability to communicate with other gifted children born at the same time and how he starts a “Midnight Children's Conference” which discusses the problems of a newly-freed India. With the main theme of magical realism, this novel is a case-study on politics and how it affects human emotions. 5. Kiran Desai: © Facebook Born in Delhi, the Man Booker Prize- awarded author Kiran Desai is another feather in India's literary cap. The daughter of Anita Desai (a thrice Man Booker Prize-shortlisted author), Kiran's fulsome writing and poised prose has garnered her praise from the likes of Salman Rushdie. A knockout first novel 'Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard' followed by the awarded 'The Inheritance of Loss', Desai is a reader's delight. Her Popular Work: 1. The Inheritance of Loss (2006): With the Gorkhaland movement as a backdrop period, the novel focuses on Biju, an undocumented immigrant in the USA and Sai, an Anglo-Indian girl in India. With themes of colonialism and cultural differences which furthers a sense of loss, the novel puts forth the fact that humans inherit not only genes but the losses of the previous generations as well. It brings forward the unrestrained nature of human emotions; apparent by the characters' demeanour, some who mock Indian traditions, others who are still angry with the British for ruining their lives. 6. Vikram Seth: © Twitter Who hasn't seen the ginormous novel, 'A Suitable Boy', perched upon the high shelves any bookstore with Vikram Seth's name embossed on it? Vikram Seth is one of the most intelligent writers when speaking of Indian writers; his writing style is impeccable. Not only is he a great writer, but his poetry is also heart-warming; which is apparent in his collection, 'Mappings'. If that is not enough, he is also one of the foremost gay rights activists in India who started a campaign against Section 377. Felicitated with numerous awards like the Sahitya Akademi Award, Padma Shri, Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, et al; Vikram, born to Indian parents in Kolkata, currently lives in London. His recent work includes the long-awaited sequel for 'A Suitable Boy', called 'A Suitable Girl'. His Popular Work: 1. A Suitable Boy (1993): Spread over 19 parts, this 1349-page novel encompasses Mrs. Mehra's quest to find a suitable boy for her daughter, Lata. 19-year-old Lata is a headstrong, opinionated young woman of a post-partition, newly-independent India, who doesn't want to settle down. Her diffidence is looked down upon by her mother and her insistent brother, Arun. Set against the backdrop of the elections of 1952, Hindu-Muslim riots and feudal caste systems; Lata is caught in a dilemma to choose between her three suitors: Kabir, Haresh and Amit. Keep guessing on who she will end up with! Written in rhyming couplets, each part has a different subplot focus and major themes of the abolition of the Zamindari system, caste-differences make this a magnum-opus whose grace can only be understood by people who read it. Frequently compared to the likes of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, this is one novel you must read. So, go get hold of one of these novels; it will surely change your perception of Indian authors.
  11. If you grew up in the 80s and the 90s, there's no chance you don't know about Danny Denzongpa. He was just as renowned a villain as Amitabh Bachhan was a hero. Even back then, Danny was known to keep fit and was in top shape. Now guess what? Danny's genetics have very well carried over onto his son, Rinzing. Soon after the news about his upcoming Bollywood debut broke, I looked up his Instagram and was surprised. The dude's simply HUGE! It's very clear that Rinzing is a religious lifter and moves serious weight in the gym. Easily standing 6 feet or above, he is muscle bound. 12. Black never goes out of fashion. Considered to be the bread and butter of most Indian men, black t-shirts are a common fashion staple that, if done right, can make all the difference in making you stand out from the crowd. But simply wearing a black tee won't be enough to help you look good, you'll have to keep in mind a few external factors as well: 1. What you pair them with: As is the case with any other piece of clothing, what you pair your black tee with is absolutely essential in determining how good (or bad!) you look. And there is no 'one size fits all' mentality at work here - in other words, what may look good with one black tee might not necessarily look good with another. 2. Pay close attention to the neck: Whether you are opting for a polo collar, a round neck, a v-neck or a Henley neck will make all the difference in determining how fashion-forward you look. After all, what you pair with a v-neck may not work for a polo collar, or vice-versa. 3. Don't commit any fashion faux pas: While we all define our own sense of fashion, we should - at the very least - resolve not to commit any fashion faux pas. No black t-shirt will make you look good if you team it up with a pair of crocs, show off those boxers that NO ONE wants to see, or decide to wear sunglasses at night (you're not Bappi Lahiri!). To put it in simpler terms, wearing something black is probably the most tried and tested way of ensuring that you adorn an ensemble that'll be fashion-forward. So to help all young men out there look their absolute best, we at MensXP have compiled a list of the best black t-shirts for men that happen to be budget-friendly as well. 15. Are you a complete beginner who doesn't know anything about exercise but wants to work on his fitness? Don't worry, you are at the right place. We all start from somewhere, including m, as a skinny guy 10 years back. Even Mr. Olympia had his first day in the gym when he couldn't even figure out the names of the equipment. Here's some help for a complete beginner. I am going to provide you a sample workout program and a few basic tips that will help you to start your fitness journey from the scratch. 1) Decide Your Goal The first thing that you need to do, is to decide a goal for yourself. A target can only be achieved once you know what the target exactly is. It could be weight loss, better body composition, bodybuilding, better stamina or just general fitness. It is important to set a target initially so that all your energy and efforts can be channelized in the right direction. If you're training without a target then you're just wasting your energy in the gym. So for example, someone who is preparing for a marathon and doing weight training instead of a long cardio session, is doing counterproductive training. Therefore, be smart and train according to your target. © YouTube 2) Beginner's Workout For Strength Training I'll give you some guidelines and a Workout Program that will help in weight loss, strength training, and bodybuilding as well. So if it is your first day at the gym, please make it clear in your head that it takes a long time to see some noticeable effects on your body. It could range from weeks to months depending on your genetics and diet. So, from where should you start your Strength Training Program? Well, initially your training program should consist of more workouts on machines, complimented with cardiovascular workouts. The reason for this is that machines eliminate the balancing act of free weight movements. Initially, you need to grasp the correct movement and posture for exercises. Your core is not too strong and the joints are not too conditioned to handle the free weight compound movements. Therefore, with the use of machines initially, the muscles can be worked out in isolation and strengthened, to begin the free weight training later on. 3) Exercises To Be Performed Jogging on Treadmill/ Cycling on Spin Bike – 5 to 10 minutes Wide Grip Lat Pulldown – 2 Sets Seated Chest Press on Machine – 2 Sets Leg Press – 2 Sets Leg Curls - 2 Sets Military Press on Machine - 2 Sets Biceps Curls on Pulley - 2 Sets Pulley Pushdown for Triceps - 2 Sets Crunches - 2 Sets Planks - 2 Sets Guidelines For These Exercises © Thinkstock The above Workout Program covers the overall muscles of the complete body. The resistance should be light initially and progression should be made at not more than 5 per cent at a time. The initial focus should not be on the weight that is being lifted, but the movement that is being performed. Till the time you can comfortably pull off 12 repetitions in an exercise with the complete range of motion maintaining the correct posture, do not increase the resistance. Basic stretching, performed before and after the workout is beneficial for your joints and flexibility, so try to include the same if possible. Perform this workout thrice a week initially and once your body gains a little strength, increase it to five times a week. Make sure to get ample rest after your workout, as initially, the body needs more time to recover. Tips On Diet For a complete beginner, who is just trying to include fitness in his lifestyle, it is not advisable to start a high protein diet straight away. Your workout will not be so intense that your body can make use of twice the body weight of protein. Initially, just start with a balanced diet wherein you replace all your empty carbs like sodas, colas, chips etc. with whole grains like oats, whole wheat bread etc. Include healthy fats from walnuts and almonds in your diet. Start having more protein in your diet gradually. Make sure to have a protein meal after your workout to help you recover better. 18. Failure is a choice we make in life. You may confess it to or not, but we know it subconsciously but do not want to face it. Well, the good news is that if we become honest with ourselves and become vulnerable to the truth, then we might have a chance to look at the problems as it is and causing us to fail. Here are few times when most of us overlook the reason behind our failures. 1. We do not know what is causing the failure © Thinkstock/Getty Images Take this particular relationship for an instance. A partner in a relationship always acts as a victim and another one acts as the one who is given the responsibility to solve his partners' problem. Do you think this relationship can thrive? Can someone solve your problems for you? No. The person who is trying to solve the problem in such situations often fails as he is doing it for the sake of being acceptable or liked in favor of solving that problem. A better metric would have been asking his partner to solve her problems by herself while he is there for her. He should help with the intention of wanting to help and not just doing a favor. In such a toxic relationship, people often don't get to know why did their relationship fail in spite of doing everything in their capacity. The problem is with the metric you chose to base your relationship on, and nothing else. 2. We know what is causing us to fail but we do not act upon our mistakes Many a time we know what we should be doing in order to achieve something but still, we take no firm steps towards achieving it. It's clear lack of will and a habit of procrastination that is causing you to fail. 3. We lack discipline © Nightwriterpoet Discipline is the key to achieving anything in life. If you are not disciplined you are not taking yourself seriously, so then how could you expect the results to be in your favor. If you need to lose some weight and get fit, then you need to get up on time every day, work out and eat right. Instead, most of us become victims to our lethagy and just let it go. 4. We are addicted to making excuses © MensXP Excuses are like taking drugs, they make you addicted to them. It gives you a temporary and false pleasure of the problem being solved. But that is not the case. You gotta face the consequences of your doing sooner or later. 5. We are addicted to habits that act as an obstacle to our success If smoking reduces your efficiency at work, leaves you tired and makes your health worse every day, then you should at least attempt to break up with that bad habit. Addictions are not easy to leave behind but every single time you attempt to get rid of it, you are subconsciously preparing your mind to quit it soon. 6. We live around losers. © AZ Quotes There is a reason why exceptional people avoid mediocre friends. A recent study has revealed the following conclusion: If you have brilliant and creative ideas, can see things in a way most people can't, have an entrepreneurial streak, you will be at risk of abandoning those ideas or ventures, changing your beliefs if you surround yourself by them, such pessimist. On, the other hand if you surround yourself with like-minded people, who are full of energy, are risk-taking and have an entrepreneurial streak you increase the chances of your success. What it means is that you will still be aligning your innermost beliefs with the people around but only this time you will be doing it for the good. The crowd around you has the ability to alter your innermost beliefs and thus can change you too, so why not choose your crowd wisely that will make you a successful person? 7. We are okay being a failure. If you have made yourself comfortable being a mediocre person your entire life, then there is nothing much anyone can do to help you. You are destined to fail when someone else will be always there to take your place or take an opportunity from your hand.
  19. 'The Big Bang Theory' is one of my favourite shows, simply because it has some of the best characters and, of course, the one and only Sheldon Cooper. But just like any other sitcom out there, this one too has some rotten apples and there is one character in particular who makes me want to kill myself. via GIPHY I really did not have a problem with Penny in the beginning of the show. I mean she was the cute girl-next-door with a big heart, and seemed to be perfect for the shy and adorable Leonard Hofstadter. via GIPHY Then suddenly I got the feeling that Penny was getting too much power. Sure, when you are a hot chick surrounded by four nerds who clearly adore you, it must be a good feeling. But then the way she began to lord herself over the guys and constantly kept picking on them, their hobbies and interests, it did not sit well with me. via GIPHY Sure, it was fun watching Leonard woo Penny and try to get into a relationship with her, and I was even happy when they got together. But, oh God, what followed next was nothing short of painful and cringey. Watching Penny toss poor Leonard around her tune was just sad. I couldn't see the 'cuteness' anymore, and Kaley Cuoco's character started to piss me off like anything. via GIPHY Needless to say, watching Leonard lose himself and his self-respect was not an easy sight. Somehow, Penny made it look like a hot woman could get away with anything, and that was just wrong. Instead of being supportive, she made it look like she was doing Leonard a huge favour by being his girlfriend. via GIPHY So I have compiled 10 reasons why I feel that Penny is literally the worst girlfriend I have ever seen among sitcoms: 1. She Treated Leonard Like A Downright Dispensable Object via GIPHY 2. She Never Respected Leonard's Interests & Always Made A Point To Mock Him via GIPHY 3. Leonard Was Constantly Under The Fear That She Would Break Up With Him via GIPHY 4. She Continuously Kept Putting Leonard Down via GIPHY 5. She Never Gave A Damn About Leonard's Job & Took Him For Granted via GIPHY 6. She Knew She Could Get Away With Practically Anything When It Came To Leonard via GIPHY 7. She Always Kept Leonard Hanging Around & Ensured He Was On Her Hook via GIPHY 8. At One Point She Even Bragged About Making More Money Than Leonard, Completely Forgetting What He Did For Her In The Past via GIPHY 9. Kept Making Leonard Go Out Of His Comfort Zone, But Had Problems When It Was Vice Versa via GIPHY 10. Used Her 'Hotness' To Get Her Way As If That's The Only Thing A Woman Has In Her Arsenal via GIPHY
  20. Lurking in the shadows of their more consistent and effective neighbours City, Manchester United did manage to prove their mettle and repaid the faith of their fans when they defeated Liverpool over the weekend. But, their happiness was sadly shortlived. If Marouane Fellaini's abhorrent 'Mickey Mouse' hairdo made them a victim of social media trolls, Man Utd further attracted immense criticism after their elimination from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Sevilla - a team placed fifth in La Liga with a goal difference of minus six and the one that could only manage two wins in their six Champions League group games. Following a goalless draw in the first-leg in Seville, United found themselves staring down the barrel because of the away goal rule. The Red Devils knew that if Sevilla scored they would need two, something the EPL giants had not managed against the Spanish opposition since 2003 (home or away) in the European competition. Despite beginning the game with a good tempo, the inability of the home side to slow the contest down and retain possession was telling. As Sevilla settled pretty quickly in the first-half, United looked a bit lackadaisical passing out from the back. Such was Sevilla's pressing, that United was forced to look long each time they got the ball. Reuters The absence of injured Paul Pogba was evident as neither Nemanja Matic, nor Fellaini came close to controlling the contest. And, the fact that Mourinho's men could force just one save from the opposition goalkeeper pretty much summed up their sorry state of affairs in the first 45 minutes. At the half-time, fans must have been hoping for a Fergie-esque 'hair-dryer treatment' for United stars from Mourinho, whose piece of mind had inspired them to overcome Crystal Palace in the Premier League recently. While we don't know what the United manager told his players in the dressing room, but it clearly didn't change their performance in the second-half. A sloppy first-half was followed by more frustration for the hosts as Sevilla kept knocking on their door. Minutes into the second-half, Joaquin Correa came close to putting his side in front when he found some space in front of David De Gea. But, as he went on to shoot, Eric Bailly swooped and made a crucial tackle to clear the danger. Marcus Rashford, whose brace over the weekend shut Liverpool, was next to cede the ball cheaply and, just like that, United - who were marching forward in a bid to score - found themselves backtracking to avoid a potential threat from Sevilla's Luis Muriel who eventually rolled the ball wide of the left post. Reuters United's problem was as obvious as their inability to solve it: a lack of composure despite Mourinho having the interval to put this right. And, soon, the contest was bypassing United's midfield in the hope that Romelu Lukaku or Fellaini could make something happen from a hail Mary dropping on them from their box. After seeing enough of mediocracy, Mourinho sent on Pogba and withdrew Fellaini on the hour. But, while United did manage to improve on the possession, it was Sevilla who reaped the benefits at the other end. Raring to beat De Gea, the visitors finally found the back of the net in the 74th minute through their 'Super Sub' Wissam Ben Yedder who scored in just 87 seconds - fastest goal by a substitute in Champions League this season. With two goals becoming the need of the hour for United, Ben Yedder struck again in the 77th minute to put the hosts out of their misery. Feeding on Correa's cross, the 27-year-old, despite a weak header, once again got his name on the scoresheet in a span of just three minutes. Thanks to his second strike, Ben Yedder is now the second-highest goal-scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League this season. Five of his eight UCL goals have come against English clubs this season. In fact, he was Sevilla's savior in the autumn, scoring three against Liverpool across their two drawn group ties. Reuters For United, opportunities kept coming but the hosts just couldn't grab them. Chris Smalling was presented with the perfect chance to cut the deficit in the 80th minute, when all he needed was just some contact to beat Sergio Rico on Rashford's free-kick. But, it seems that Smalling was probably distracted by Ashley Young's Instagram post trolling Mohamed Salah. The goal finally came for the home side through Lukaku in the 84th minute, but the fact that there wasn't even a roar from the emptying Old Trafford reflects how bad Mourinho's men had been that night. There was no fluency, no pace and, definitely, no ambition from the Red Devils. It's safe to say that the hosts were second-best in all the departments of the game. Theirs was a wretched performance, a calamity for United, and one of the worst nights in their long European history. After progressing from the Round of 16 in five successive seasons, United have now been eliminated at this stage in two of their last three Champions League campaigns. And, the fact that Sevilla attempted 21 shots in the game - the most by any team at Old Trafford since March 2013 - sums up their forgetful night. Reuters And, if their performance wasn't enough to rile up the fans, Mourinho's comments after the game highlighted that maybe it was time for the Red Devils to find a new manager, because the Portuguese were definitely not the 'Special One' that night. "It is not something new for the club. I don't think the performance was bad, I think the intention and the way we started was really good and positive," he said. Clearly, Mourinho was talking about some other team or probably another match because United fans and the hallowed Old Trafford doesn't deserve a performance like that. And, for a club of United's might that allowed Mourinho to spend 300 million pounds in his two seasons, failing to reach the Champions League last eight is just unacceptable. Mourinho's failure to guide his team into the quarter-finals is further compounded by how the maligned David Moyes did take United through to the last eight four years ago. And, this dismal defeat that had Old Trafford emptying before the final whistle means United can realistically now claim only the FA Cup - a consolation that might help Mourinho save his job, but cannot justify the team's growing incompetence.
