  1. âAgar aap focused aur dedicated hain toh raaste apne aap bante jaate hain, Google ki zaroorat nahi padti navigation ke liye.â - Pankaj Tripathi This statement completely sums up Pankaj Tripathi's career and how, with time, his achievements have only grown bigger. He has now bagged a lead role in a movie titled Kaagaz that is backed by Salman Khanâs production house. Pankaj Tripathi entered the film industry with Run and Omkara in 2004 and has every time made his presence felt on the big screen. From Sacred Games to Stree, he has proved his versatility too. And now, with him getting the center stage in Kaagaz, we can safely say how he has redefined the role of a hero in Bollywood. Today, we honour the story and its requirements," said the actor stating his happiness as he is playing the lead role in Kaagaz that is based on the real-life story of Lal Bihari, a farmer who was declared dead on paper. âWhen I joined the movies, I had never imagined that any of these wonderful things were possible for me. I came to the movies with modest expectations, looking for good work. The very fact that the audience welcomed me with so much love is humbling. Kaagaz is my first solo hero project, and there's nothing more fulfilling for an actor than the after-feeling of being part of such a strong story,â added the actor. Interestingly, he is also a part of Kabir Khan's '83 and the makers shared a poster featuring him, today. The actor would be playing PR Man Singh, the manager of India's cricket team in 1983. Singh led the Indian cricket team as its manager both in 1983 and 1987 when the team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup tournament. Fans have been loving the first look and are looking forward to watching him in the movie. What's all the more admirable is the fact that he has also stayed true to his roots and is thankful for the support he has been getting from the audience. 2. It's no shame that so many people see relationships as the best part of their lives. Finding a boo for yourself and swinging to the tunes of romance is magical and mesmerising. You must have friends who are obsessed with crawling bars and clubs in search of their significant other stating that everything will be alright when they have one. But certainly, being single has its own significant identity to treasure. MensXP brings to you five reasons to acknowledge singlehood and embrace it: © Pinterest 1. You Are 100% Yourself Being single provides you with a great opportunity to be and feel yourself as you are. You save yourself from an identity crisis, which is mostly seen in a relationship in order to make the other person happy or satisfied or modifying yourself so that your partner can easily accept you. You can expose your weaknesses, strengths, insecurities that help you to find who you really are. © Twitter 2. You Breathe Freedom Being single doesn't mean no one wants you; it's about loving and finding yourself enough for you. It can be a choice to give yourself time to decide who you really want to be with. Singlehood is about having the freedom to explore what you really want and expect from your life. In singlehood, you are accountable to just yourself and you need no permissions or think of the repercussions before leading the journey of self-discovery. © Twitter 3. You Are Your Own Master Your single years can be the most liberating and productive days of your life. You are the boss of your own life, the whole and sole commander of your own actions. You need not to answer anyone where you were, why you were late, not to worry about what the other person will think about you, your outfits, the mistakes you make, the food you eat, the way you sit, blah blah... You are your own boss! © Twitter 4. No Bars On Your Friendships To your significant other, your friends are mostly the 'snakes' and you are the ' innocent admirer'. According to them, they are behind all your fights, silly arguments, parallel decisions etc. to your girlfriend your female friends are the troublemakers and vice-versa. Hence, in singlehood, you can do what your heart desires and be friends with anyone whom you like without always being conscious about the boundaries drawn by your bae. © Pinterest 5. Less Of Silly Quarrels/ Disagreements While most people around the world feel that they are strong enough to take on anything, when it comes to conversations or the dreaded “we-need-to-talk”, they are the foremost customer of escapism. Those silly arguments presented in a PDF file by your partner, including facts and figures like the exact date, time and dialogues you spoke, are no less than mental torture, as half of the time it's illogical. Being single saves you from all those emotional traumas and additional baggage. Singlehood has perks exotic enough to applaud your decision or condition of not being in a relationship or be under any emotional commitments and attachments. Hope the above-mentioned list helps you to make better decisions in life and be happy with what you are surrounded with.
  3. Hard work pays off. If not today, then tomorrow and Akshay Kumar is the living example of it. It's hard to believe but the man who won a national award for his film 'Rustom', was once termed as a 'furniture actor.' The arduous journey from being an action hero to an actor wasn't easy for him. Before Akshay Kumar, he was known as Rajiv Bhatia, who wasn't very good at academics and was always more inclined towards sports. His father, Mr. Hari Om Bhatia, was well aware of this fact and hence, sent him to Bangkok to study martial arts. There, along with learning martial arts, our Khiladi worked as a waiter & a chef, not knowing that one day he'll be hosting Master Chef of India. © Warner Bros After he learned Muay Thai there, a form of arts, he came back to India and started teaching martial arts in Mumbai. One of his students suggested him to try modelling. But he didn't have a portfolio and didn't have any money to make one. So he worked as an assistant to a famous photographer, Jayesh Seth, for around a year and a half for free to get his first portfolio shot. Then came modelling gigs and he became quite fond of it as he made more money as a model in the first couple of days than he did in an entire month as a martial arts teacher. On one such occasion, he missed his flight to Bangalore for an ad shoot. Devastated by this, he went to a film studio along with his portfolio to look for work. Luck played its part and he got signed as a lead role for the film 'Deedar.' Maybe it's true when they say, whatever happens, happens for good. But this wasn't his first film. His first film was Aaj (1987) which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. He had a 4-5 second role of a karate instructor in it and Kumar Gaurav was his co-actor. The interesting part is that the name of Kumar Gaurav's character was Akshay in it. One morning, Rajiv Bhatia decided to change his name for no reason whatsoever and then born was our beloved Akshay Kumar. © Tridev Arts Akshay's first release was 'Saugandh' which was released in 1991. 'Deedar', which he signed before 'Saugandh', was released in 1992. His first couple of films didn't do great, but then came 'Khiladi', which did quite all right at the box office. His first hit, however, was 'Mohra', which came in 1994. Akshay has given many flops in his lifetime, including 14 back to back flop once, but he still always managed to bag movies because he was a producer's man. Akshay was punctual on sets, didn't throw any tantrums and never misused the producer's money. Apart from his action skills, this was one of the major reasons he was loved by his directors and producers. There came a time in Akshay's life where he was called a furniture actor as the man himself realised that all he is doing is action, and nothing much. In one of the interviews he said, "Whenever someone used to make an action film, they would say 'take this guy called Akshay'. When it came to acting, nobody used to take me." That's when he started looking for films which could bring out the actor inside of him. And then no one could stop him! He proved his mettle in comedy, drama, romance and almost every other genre. In 2000, he did 'Hera Pheri' & 'Dhadkan', which were a comedy and a romance film respectively. Both the films performed well at the box office and everyone applauded Akshay's acting skills. Hera Pheri is still considered as one of the best comedy films of Bollywood. Since then, Akshay has worked in more than a hundred films and has even done negative roles. For 'Ajnabee', he has won Filmfare in the category of Best Villain. © YouTube Akshay's personal life has also been quite happening until he met the love of his life. He had affairs with the likes of Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon. But our hero finally fell in love with Twinkle Khanna, which actually started as a fling. On 'Koffee With Karan', Twinkle revealed, “I had come out of a long-term relationship and for the first time in my life I wanted to just have a fling. And there he was, sitting 6 feet of chocolate ice-cream. So I decided I am going to have a fling with him and it's going to last 15 days. That was my plan.” But the relationship grew and Akshay proposed to Twinkle for marriage. She didn't say yes right away and put a condition. She told him that if her film 'Mela' wouldn't perform well, then only she would marry him. She was actually quite sure that it would do well and marriage was the last thing on her mind. © Star World Luckily for Akshay, 'Mela' turned out to be a disaster. But Twinkle didn't say yes that easily even then. Instead of asking for his Kundali, she asked Akshay what diseases ran in his family, at what age did his uncles go bald, what did his aunt die from, and everything related to his genetics. Basically, she wanted to confirm their children would be perfectly healthy and good looking. She even made a list of pros and cons of marrying Akshay. (Tell your boyfriend this when he complains that you over think.) © YouTube Even Twinkle's mother, Dimple Kapadia, was sceptical about the marriage. She asked the duo to be in a live-in relationship first as she had heard that Akshay might be gay. What a cool mom, eh? But in the end, everything turned out well and Akshay tied the knot with Twinkle in 2001. Seems like some flings do turn into something great! Akshay is one of the most famous Bollywood actors, arguably THE most famous since he's the first Indian male actor to have 20 million followers on Instagram. This fan following came from all the hard work he has done to make himself stand where he is. © Twitter/Akshay Kumar He's known to wake up at 4 in the morning and go back to bed at 9. His schedule and punctuality are the reasons that he releases around three films in a year. Even at 50, he's fitter than most of us. He is also known for playing pranks with his co-actors on sets. Akshay is also a philanthropist since he actively promotes women empowerment, women's safety, the importance of the army, and also helps farmers whenever needed. © Excel Entertainment Most of his films are quite inspiring which gives a strong message to society. His recent film was on Independent India's first gold medal in hockey. Though being a teetotaller himself, he played the role of an alcoholic in this film and if you ask me, he nailed the role, like always! His upcoming film is '2.0' in which he'll be playing an antagonist and will be seen in an all-new avatar. © Lyca Productions We hope he keeps making inspiring films and keeps on entertaining us.
  4. Bollywood's superstar and veteran actress Sridevi's untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of everyone who loved her. Be it her family, the people who had the pleasure of working with her or her fans who worshipped her, this absence is something that needs more than time to heal. If you are a true fan, you'd probably know a lot about her already but in case you are intrigued, we have a list of lesser known facts about the beloved actress. 1. Sridevi's birth name was Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan. She adopted the name 'Sridevi', and eventually was known by this name only all her life. © Instagram 2. While many actors thought that making debuts at 16 or maybe 18 years was a big deal, Sridevi was probably born a professional. The gorgeous actress accelerated her film career at the mere age of 4 with the Tamil movie, 'Thunaivan'. 3. For someone who faced the camera at 4 years of age, Sridevi took the humongous task of playing Rajnikanth's step mother in 'Moondru Mudichu'. Just FYI, she was only 13 years old at that time but still 9 years deep in the industry. © RMS Films 4. Sridevi was awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2013, India's fourth highest civilian award. © Twitter 5. Not many are aware but 'Beta' and 'Darr', the movies which are now synonymous with the success of Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla, were initially offered to her. However, she refused them since she was already doing a lot of movies with Anil Kapoor at that time and she thought that 'Darr' didn't offer her much as an actor. 6. Not just Bollywood but even Hollywood loved Sridevi. Apparently in 1993, celebrated director Steven Spielberg really wanted to cast her for 'Jurassic Park' when Sridevi was already enjoying a superstar status in India. She politely refused because she felt the role wasn't 'meaty' enough for her. © Twitter 7. Since she wasn't very comfortable with the language, Sridevi started dubbing for her own Hindi films with 'Chandni'. The actress was just 54 years old when she passed away and her last movie will be SRK' s 'Zero', in which she will have a guest appearance. While the film fraternity lost a superstar, Sridevi was much more than just an actor. She was a wife, a mother and a role model for millions of women in the country. We hope her soul rests in eternal peace.
  5. George Clooney is one of the most famous actors in the world today. Three golden awards and two academy awards later, the suave man is gearing up to embrace fatherhood with his gorgeous wife. However, there is a side of this amazing actor that not many know of. © Twitter Besides being an actor and a producer, George is also a human rights activist. Founded in 2010, the ‘Satellite Sentinel Project’ was conceived by Clooney and John Prendergast , who is also the co-founder of the ‘Enough Project’ when they were on a trip to Sudan in 2010. © Twitter The idea was simple but great. George realised that if Google Earth could locate anyone’s house then why couldn’t space imagery be used to locate human traffickers? The satellite clicks images of target areas, send them to research analysts and the findings are made public for everyone to see. In 2011, the Satellite Sentinel Project was able to capture the images of grave sites in the Southern Kordofan state of South Sudan. The project is also trying to investigate the source of funding for the illegal trade in diamonds, gold and ivory. © satellite sentinel project In a speech explaining the whole idea behind SSP, Clooney explained, "Genocide and other human rights crimes are never just spontaneous events. They require planning, they require financing, and they require international indifference to succeed. Where is the money coming from, and where is it being hidden? To the extent we can, we want to make it more difficult for those willing to kill en masse to secure their political and economic objectives, and we want to move the needle away from indifference and inaction." The two NGOS that are the running mill behind this project are ‘Enough Project ‘ and ‘Not On Our Watch’ (George is a co-founder of this as well, and other co-founders include Don Cheadle, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.) © Twitter The project has gained immense exposure, with many international organisations supporting the cause. However, this stellar project has been openly denounced by Sudanese leaders like Omar al-Bashir, but that is not stopping Clooney from continuing this generous deed. The findings, current research and everything that the project is covering is accessible at the website, Satellite Sentinel Project. Do check it out!
