  3. Brazil's football legend and three-time World Cup winner Pele admitted that despite being married three times, he has had more affairs than he could count and isn't even aware of how many kids he fathered while often being unaware of their existence. Yes, you read that right. “In all honesty, I’ve had a few affairs, some of which resulted in children, but I’ve only learned about them later,” Pele said in the most-awaited Netflix documentary on his life titled Pele. © Netflix Among all the known kids, Pele fathered seven kids including daughter Sandra Machado whom Pele didn't recognise as his child despite the court's ruling in 1996 that said she was his daughter. For the unversed, Pele fathered five kids from first two marriages — wives Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi and Assiria Lemos Seixas — and the kids were namely Kelly (50), Edinho (50), Jennifer (42), and twins Joshua and Celeste (24). Pele further claimed, in the controversial documentary, that all his wives and girlfriends were aware of his infidelity. He said, “My first wife, first girlfriend, knew about it. I never lied.” © Reuters Sandra, who died from cancer in 2006, was the result of an illicit romance with housemaid Anisia Machado. An affair in 1968 with journalist Lenita Kurtz produced his daughter Flavia, 52. “My first wife, first girlfriend, knew about it. I never lied,” Pele revealed. While that may be true, playing the field was a one-way street for Pele. © Twitter Maria da Graca Xuxa — a 57-year-old former model who started seeing Pele when she was just 17 — revealed last month, “He said it was an open relationship, but open only to him.” In the Netflix film, simply entitled Pele, the South American legend has candidly revealed several details of his life which could be a bittersweet experience for his fans. 9. It's 2019, a year to introspect where you're going and what you want to become in the very bright future, that's lying ahead of you right now. But to get there, somethings should be easier said than done and by that I mean, 2019 is the OG year for all you lads, who want to change certain things about yourselves and make something more remarkable out of the remainder of your life left. (c)Getty Images The 'fuckboi' culture was at a peak and still is in our country and the wave is slowly disseminating a little less voraciously, due to the recent ongoing #MeToo movement but it's still there. But the culture stands appropriately acceptable, as long as there is undulated respect given to the person you're involved with. By definition, a fuckboy is a 'man' who has many casual sexual partners, but in practicality, the meaning goes a little beyond that definition. A fuckboy is usually classified as manipulative, shrewd, inconsiderate and assertive and sometimes, these things can and should be put aside to have some fun and casual, unadulterated ***. Although #MeToo hasn't put a demarcation on the fuckboy culture, but because of its prevalence, it does raise a a lot of questions with regard to the conditioning aspect of someone who is ardently trying to be a fuckboy and fit in. (c)Pintrest So, to put aside playing with fire in 2019, we've come up with ways you can still be a fuckboy, but be sensitive, aware and considerate, all at once and it can only happen if you change certain pertinent patterns and turn the entire wave around, while still enjoying casual fuckboy ***. This one's classified as 'fuckboy with a conscience' and it's the truest anthem of 2019! (1) Tell Her First Hand You're A Fuckboy Usually fuckboys don't like to narrate they are fuckboys because then what's the point? But truth be told, a woman of 2019 would rather know your intention than play your wicked games. Men who love to score make up enthralling stories for women about their longings, desires, vulnerability and the fact that they're damaged (a term casually used by men nowadays), to get her into bed. Instead, just tell her you're in it just for *** and she'll respect you for that and sleep with you, if she wants to. But getting into her pants after spinning a yarn and then disappearing is just frowned upon now. (c)Eros International (2) Texting Etiquette A fuckboy's known trait is his texting habit and ritual. While in talks with most women who've encountered one too many, they revealed that most fuckboys they were involved with would take hours to text back, because they could. Honestly, it's a habit garnered out of showing lack of interest in knowing someone personally. Which is fair. If it's just casual ***, why do you need to text all the time, right? So, let that sink in while you decide to keep it a bit more real. Making someone wait and substantiating the fuckboy culture even more is just not something women are looking forward to this year. (c)Twitter (3) Playing With Insecurities Is So Passé Telling her she's over-exaggerating every time she calls out on something, lying to her about why you disappeared, texting her after hours for her to ask you 'are you there', manipulating her into thinking you're in it for the long run, when you're not are all classic fuckboy signs you need to change because this is directly hampering someone's security about themselves or about the situation as a whole. Let's go back to point no.1 and emphasise on how you can be honest about what you really want out of this semblance and let these games completely go. Give it a shot. (c)UTV Motion Pictures (4) Fuckboys Don't Need To Hide Their Feelings Fuckboys, or men who don't confront their feelings often, hide them in fear of the simplest revelation about themselves. It's how they manicure the whole image to make them feel unbreakable, when they're not. But sometimes they're broken and that addressal is important, but it barely happens. So, if you're using *** as a coping mechanism and hiding the most gullible bits about yourself, it's time to start addressing the way you feel and making changes with emoting yourself better, rather than hiding behind a garb of relentlessly trying to make an impression on the women out there. Something to think about? (c)Eros International (5) Toning Down On Being Selfish Helps If you really want to reincarnate the way the world perceives your image, then start with your flaws, which you've ignored for a long time. The biggest one being the selfishness that comes with playing the fuckboy. And that's unnaturally built and not an inherent flaw, so you can weed it out when you're in for an image makeover. Most fuckboys think about their carnal needs before thinking about the other person involved. How about, put your needs aside or balance your needs with the other persons. If the other person does not fancy a fuckboy and she's not in the knowing about you being one, then don't go ahead with the plan? (c)Shemaroo Entertainment This isn't an attempt to call out ridiculous behaviours men try and immortalise and continue to do so in 2019. I was a fuckboy too till I realised my life is passing me by and all I have gained is excessive amount of karma for making a mockery out of how other people feel. In 2019, with the advent of the #MeToo movement, it's time to start fresh and change the way you perceive actions and inactions and make these changes more pronounced. *** is the need of the hour and you can find it without creating an unnecessary image for yourself in the market. You know what's in demand right now though? Just being yourself, that's what.
  10. Currently ranked No. 1 in Tests and No. 2 in both ODIs and T20Is, the Indian cricket team has been busy hammering their opponents and scaling new heights under the tutelage of Virat Kohli as captain. The players are performing in their respective roles, the bench strength looks good and Kohli seems to be in the form of his life. That's probably why India are dubbed as favourites going into the 2019 ICC World Cup in England and Wales. But, while things have looked ominous for the Kohli & co on the field, the same, sadly, cannot be said for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the administration front. The unceremonious exit of Anil Kumble, appalling appointment of Ravi Shastri as coach and the alleged harassment charges against BCCI's CEO Rahul Johri have all combined to tarnish the rich history of Indian cricket. Concerned the by the sorry state of affairs, Sourav Ganguly recently wrote a scathing letter to the BCCI, expressing serious concerns over the future of Indian cricket. Speaking out on the many issues that had surfaced recently, the former Indian captain minced no words while bringing the matter to the attention of the Indian cricket board. © BCCL Ganguly was a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee that appointed Shastri as India's coach after the controversial exit of Kumble. First, the deadline for the application was extended, allowing Shastri to apply. After the interviews, Ganguly said in a press conference he wanted to give Kohli some time to think about his demand. However, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the BCCI announced Shastri's appointment the same evening. The first press release said Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan had been appointed batting and bowling consultants, but neither Dravid nor Zaheer ever got to work with the team. "My experience in the matter of coach selection was appalling. The less said the better," Ganguly wrote in his letter to the BCCI. Ganguly is also the head of the BCCI technical committee which has framed rules, regulations and playing conditions for the domestic tournaments. However, their recommendations on how to include north-eastern state teams into Ranji Trophy were also overlooked. "Cricketing rules are changed in the middle of a season, which has never been heard of. Decisions made in committees are turned around with complete disrespect," Ganguly claimed. © BCCL Then, the allegations of harassment against the BCCI CEO and the manner in which the CoA has handled the case, too, left Ganguly disappointed. After an anonymous sexual harassment complaint against Johri popped up on Twitter on 12th October, Johri was first given a week to explain himself despite Diana Edulji - one of the members of the CoA - wanting Johri to resign before any such probe. But, CoA chief Vinod Rai constituted the independent committee to probe Johri's case. "I don't know how far it's true, but the recent reports of harassment has really made the BCCI look very poorly. More so the way it has been handled. The committee of CoA from four has come down to two and now the two seem to be divided," Ganguly opined in his letter. The former Indian cricketer continued to use strong language to highlight the state of cricket administration in India. "I write this mail to you all with the deep sense of fear as to where Indian cricket administration is going. Having played the game for a long period of time, where our lives were ruled by winning and losing, and the image of Indian cricket was of paramount importance to us. We wake up looking at how our cricket is faring even now," he wrote. © BCCL "But with deep sense of worry, (I used the word worry) I beg to state that the way things have gone in the last couple of years, the authority of Indian cricket to the world and the love and belief of millions of fans is on the way down," he added. "Indian cricket with its massive following has been built over the years of hard work from superb administrators and greatest of cricketers who have managed to bring thousands of fans to the ground. I, at the present moment, think it's in danger. Hope people are listening," Ganguly concluded.

  14. US President Donald Trump listens as David Shulkin, the US Secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs, speaks during a Department of Veteran Affairs Telehealth event at the White House in Washington, US, August 3, 2017. REUTERS/Joshua Roberts/Files WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump ousted Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin on Wednesday in response to heavy criticism and nominated his personal physician, Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, to replace him in the latest turnover among Trump?s team. White House officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Shulkin had become a distraction due to a constant wave of speculation about his future and said he would be leaving in the next day or two. They said an undersecretary at the Department of Defense, Robert Wilkie, will be the acting secretary. Shulkin had drawn fire for a damning report from the inspector general of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It found that during a trip to London and Denmark he improperly accepted tickets to the Wimbledon tennis tournament and his chief of staff made false statements so Shulkin?s wife could travel at government expense. One official said the criticism of Shulkin was ?making it harder for him to carry out the duties of secretary of the VA, which is something the president has made clear is a big priority for him.? Jackson, a rear admiral of the US Navy, has been working as a presidential physician since the George W. Bush administration and has been the lead doctor monitoring Trump?s health since Trump became president. Jackson gave Trump a clean bill of health early this year after giving the president a physical. He put him on a diet to lose some weight and directed him to get some exercise. Aides said Trump has been eating more fish and fewer cheeseburgers lately. A Texas native who has been on active duty since 1995, Jackson served during the US-led war in Iraq as an emergency medicine physician in Taqaddum, Iraq. ?Admiral Jackson is highly trained and qualified and as a service member himself, he has seen firsthand the tremendous sacrifice our veterans make and has a deep appreciation for the debt our great country owes them,? Trump said. A White House official said Trump warmed to Jackson and had been aware that Shulkin had sought to make Jackson the VA undersecretary last year. ?The president wants somebody who gives him the best possible care to go over and give that same care to the veterans. That?s how strongly he feels about getting them represented properly,? the official said. Trump said he appreciated Shulkin?s work, including passage of the VA Accountability Act.?He has been a great supporter of veterans across the country and I am grateful for his service,? Trump said in a statement. US Representative Phil Roe, a Republican who chairs the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, said he hated to see Shulkin go but respected Trump?s decision. ?At the end of the day, cabinet secretaries serve at the pleasure of the president,? he said. Will Fischer, director of government relations for the VoteVets lobby group, said his group hopes Jackson will oppose any attempt to privatize the VA or its health services, a concept that Republicans talk about occasionally. ?If Dr. Jackson can do that, immediately, he will do a lot to help his chances at confirmation,? Fischer said. The VA oversees health care and benefits going to roughly 20 million US military veterans. The Veterans Health Administration, the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States, provides care at more than 1,200 facilities, including 170 VA Medical Centers, to more than 9 million veterans. Trump praised Shulkin as ?fantastic? when he chose him to head the VA in January 2017. Trump, who promised improved veterans? care during his presidential campaign, last year said the department had made ?tremendous progress? under Shulkin. But support for him at the White House eroded quickly in recent weeks as Trump grew weary of the drumbeat of negative headlines about him. Shulkin said after the release of the inspector general?s report that he would comply with its recommendations, including reimbursing the government for his wife?s $4,312 airfare and paying his friend for the Wimbledon tickets. The department announced two days after the report was issued that Vivieca Wright Simpson, Shulkin?s chief of staff, would retire. Shulkin joins a long list of senior officials who have either resigned or been fired since Trump took office in January 2017. Others include Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price, FBI chief James Comey and FBI No. 2 Andrew McCabe, Trump?s chief strategist Steve Bannon, national security advisers H.R. McMaster and Michael Flynn, White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, communications directors Hope Hicks and Anthony Scaramucci, and economic adviser Gary Cohn.
  15. RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is on an official visit to Brunei Darussalam, on Monday held meetings with the country's to civilian and military leadership, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. The COAS held a meeting with Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, wherein the two figures discussed matters of mutual interest including bilateral defence cooperation and military-to-military ties between both the countries, the statement said. General Bajwa also met Deputy Defence Minister Major General (Retd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Mohd Yussof, it said. Later, the army chief met with the military leadership of the country including commander of Brunei's Land and Royal Air Force, according to the ISPR. The two military commanders discussed mutual interest affairs, including training and security cooperation at the meeting. During the meetings, the political and military leadership of Brunei acknowledged Pakistan?s achievements in fight against terrorism and efforts for regional peace and stability.
  16. KOLKATA: Police on Friday charged Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami after his wife filed a formal complaint alleging assault, domestic violence and infidelity. Shami's wife Hasin Jahan, a former model, filed a written complaint with the police in Kolkata just days after going public with claims that Shami had affairs with other women. The controversy has already cost Shami as India's cricket board has put the 27-year-old bowler's annual contract with the national team on hold while an investigation is conducted. "Police have charged Indian pacer Mohammad Shami and his brother with sections related to rape, domestic violence and causing hurt with poisoning after Jahan's complaint," Kolkata police joint commissioner Praveen Tripathi told AFP. "She has specifically complained about being tortured by her husband and in-laws, and about her husband having multiple extra-marital affairs," Tripathi added. Jahan made headlines by making public on Tuesday a series of messages Shami allegedly sent to women during their four-year marriage. "I managed to access the security code in his phone and saw (the) chats last night. I was shocked and could not sleep," she said. "He tortured me physically and mentally over and over again. Shami assaulted me after returning from the South Africa tour," Jahan told journalists on Friday. Shami has dismissed the accusations of infidelity as a campaign to defame him. "What is being said about my personal life is completely false," he wrote on Twitter Wednesday. "It's definitely a part of a big conspiracy against me. This is just an attempt to defame me." The Board of Control for Cricket in India dropped Shami from a list of contracted players unveiled Wednesday, which saw skipper Virat Kohli and other top Test players awarded salaries just above $1 million. A supervisory committee overseeing BCCI affairs said the allegations against Shami put them in a difficult position and that his contract was on hold pending review.
  17. KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Saturday issued notices to Secretary, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Director General (Maritime Affairs), Shipping Master of Government Shipping Office, Director General (Immigration Wing) Federal Investigation Agency, and Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan and Deputy Attorney General on a constitutional petition filed by a Mariner Syed Murawat Haider through his counsel Agha Zafar Ahmed. The court summoned the respondents to appear on the second week of March. The counsel for the petitioner submitted that Pakistani Shipping Master is violating Pakistan Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 2001 with particular reference to Sections 123 & 127, in which it is demanding the agents to force Pakistani seafarers joining foreign ships to sign Pakistani article of agreement at shipping office and two yearly medical checkup at port health Karachi so that his staff could blackmail seafarers to get illegal gratification. The petitioner said that the illegal and unlawful demands of the respondents are a major cause of loss of thousands of jobs and millions of foreign exchange remittances, adding that the present antiquated system is not only against the clear wordings of the MSO, 2001 but also against the spirit of the MSO, 2001. According to petition the act of the Shipping Master of requiring the Petitioner to sign-on Pakistan Article of Agreement under section 125 of MSO, 2001 for joining foreign flag ship is illegal, without lawful authority. The provisions of 125 or section 126 of MSO, 2001 applies only to Pakistani ships and not for foreign ships. It said that the Secretary, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Shipping Master have no jurisdiction over foreign flag ships while they are not in any Pakistani ports and the rules/laws of the ?Flag? state applies to such foreign vessels. In terms of section 127 of MSO, 2001 it is not necessary for the Pakistani seamen to sign-on Pakistani Article of Agreement to join foreign flag ship when the Master, or Owner or Agent of a foreign ship engages a Pakistani seaman, from any port or place in Pakistan. The act of officers of Director General (Immigration Wing) Federal Investigation Agency posted at the Airports not permitting Pakistani seamen for boarding any aircraft for joining foreign flag ships, despite that the Petitioner (and other seamen intending to join foreign vessels) have all the relevant documents including Employment Agreement of foreign flag ships in their possession, on the alleged ground that the Petitioner has not signed-on Pakistan Article of Agreement before the Shipping Master under section 125 of MSO, 2001 is illegal, unlawful and against the law. The Immigration Ordinance, 1979 does not apply to the departure of a person who is engaged as a crew on board a foreign vessel in accordance with (erstwhile Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1979) now MSO 2001 as per section 27(iv) of the Immigration Ordinance, 1979. The aforesaid act of the Respondents also violates Articles 18 and 25 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which fundamental rights are guaranteed by the Constitution.
  18. RAWALPINDI: US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here on Monday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The meeting was held at the Pakistan Army's General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the ISPR said in a statement. The two figures discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security, at the meeting, it added.
  19. Jeffrey Feltman speaks during a news conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 3, 2015. REUTERS/Dinuka Liyanawatte/Files UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations? political affairs chief will visit North Korea this week, making the highest-level visit by a UN official in more than six years as tensions grip the region over Pyongyang?s nuclear and weapons programs. Jeffrey Feltman ? a former senior US State Department official ? will visit from Tuesday to Friday and meet with officials to discuss ?issues of mutual interest and concern?, the United Nations said. He will meet with North Korea Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and Vice Minister Pak Myong Guk, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said, adding the visit was in response to ?a long-standing invitation from the authorities in Pyongyang for a policy dialogue with the UN?. ?He will also meet with the United Nations Country Team and members of the diplomatic corps, as well as visit UN project sites,? Dujarric told reporters, adding that Feltman was also visiting China. Feltman would be the first senior UN official to travel to North Korea since his predecessor Lynn Pascoe visited in February 2010 and former UN aid chief Valerie Amos visited in October 2011, the United Nations said. The United States and South Korea went ahead with large-scale joint aerial drills on Monday ? a move North Korea had said would push the Korean peninsula to ?the brink of nuclear war?. Russia and China wanted the drills called off. The exercises were conducted a week after Pyongyang said it had tested its most advanced long-range ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States. North Korea has been under UN sanctions since 2006 over its missile and nuclear programs. At a UN Security Council meeting last week to discuss the missile test, UN Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that while Washington does not seek war with Pyongyang, ?if war comes, make no mistake, the North Korean regime will be utterly destroyed?. Dujarric said North Korea issued the invitation for Feltman to visit on the sidelines of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations in New York in September, but the visit was confirmed only late last week. When asked if Feltman was paving the way for a visit by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Dujarric said, ?We hope to have more afterwards.? There are about 50 international staff working for six UN agencies in North Korea ? the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN children?s agency UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP), the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the UN Population Fund.
