  1. Ever since their dismal outing at the ICC World Cup in England & Wales, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been hell-bent on fixing impending issues in the national team to prepare themselves better for future assignments. The PCB got rid of coach Mickey Arthur and the majority of the support staff. There have been noticeable changes in developmental cricket in the country and, there has also been a key focus on the diet of the cricketers. In a bid to bring in a major overhaul of the national team, the PCB recently took another key decision by sacking Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain of their Test and T20I sides. The cricket board has elevated the likes of Azhar Ali and Babar Azam to leadership roles in Tests and T20Is respectively. © Reuters Sarfaraz has been calling the shots as captain for Pakistan in all three formats for the last two years. He was at the helm of affairs when Pakistan sprung a surprise on arch-rivals India to win the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. But, his captaincy has come under scrutiny in the last two years. Under his captaincy, Pakistan has slipped in Test and ODI team rankings. And, more recently, a depleted Sri Lankan side whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in the T20I series at home. With his own form suffering with the bat, speculations were rife that the new head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq would bring in considerable changes, with many expecting an axe on Sarfaraz. While it's too early to comment on whether the move will aid Pakistan or not, the PCB found themselves in a peculiar situation after their recent decision. Right after announcing Sarfaraz's sacking, the PCB released a video of the Pakistan squad dancing during a training session. Here is â¦@TheRealPCBâ© tweet moments after Sarfaraz was sacked. Classy. (Background score courtesy my one-year old) pic.twitter.com/QuCqxQTDXJ — Osman Samiuddin (@OsmanSamiuddin) October 18, 2019 In a video shared by a journalist on social media, Pakistani cricketers can be seen dancing. The video was captioned: "Here is @TheRealPCB tweet moments after Sarfaraz was sacked. Classy. (Background score courtesy my one-year-old)". The PCB apologies for this post and accepts the timing of it was wrong. This was a pre-planned post as part of the one-year to go #T20WorldCup promotional campaign. The timing of this post clashed with the captaincy announcement for which the PCB offers its regrets. — Pakistan Cricket (@TheRealPCB) October 18, 2019 After being called out on Twitter, the PCB was quick to delete their insensitive tweet and rendered an apology. "The PCB apologies for this post and accepts the timing of it was wrong. This was a pre-planned post as part of the one-year to go #T20WorldCup promotional campaign. The timing of this post clashed with the captaincy announcement for which the PCB offers its regrets," the PCB tweeted.
  2. If you boil down a film to its fundamental parts, it's really a marriage between two things - sound and visuals, both of which happen to be seeing dialogue and plot on the side. It's no secret that David Fincher happens to be a proud master of them all - a title well-earned after his commercial failure and utter cult success as the director of Chuck Palhanuik's Fight Club. That's right. We're going to be diving into that thing we're not supposed to be talking about. Through its commentary on everything from emasculated 21st century men to the modern trap of consumerist culture, this film managed to capture the ethos and very spirit of pre-9/11, urban rat-race America. 20 years on however, we're provided with an interesting viewpoint to revisit some of Fincher's best scenes, especially considering how the subject matter has evolved over time - so here's four of the film's most iconic themes, and how we ought to look at them today. Insomnia & Consumerism (We don't order furniture from catalogues anymore, for a start.) The most overt and obvious theme in Fight Club is, well, overt consumerism and capitalism. The Narrator (Edward Norton), finds himself a prisoner of his own life - blankly staring into nothingness no matter where he is and what he is doing. At one point, The Narrator tells us 'when you have insomnia, you're never really asleep, and you're never really awake,' mirroring a very common sense of half-consciousness experienced by average people today. As he says this, the camera pans to reveal him mindlessly gazing at an infomercial for balding men which is unusual, considering 30-year-old Edward Norton's pretty full head of hair. The fact that he's so paralysed by this suggests that he's not just half-conscious due to lack of sleep, but that consumerist culture is also eating away at him. via GIPHY It's even more prevalent when you consider just how far he's distanced himself from the world and his dreary life - the very space required for Tyler Durden to sneak into existence. The lack of sleep, and said sleep replaced by an endless parade of advertising - you'll even find it right here while reading this article. There is no escape. When Life Gets Predictable While you may assume that the term 'Rationalism' is simply reliance on logic and reason, it also refers to a sociological concept - the replacement of traditions, values and emotions as social motivators with concepts grounded in logic, such as efficiency and productivity. It's pretty much impossible to avoid noticing this today - corporate email jargon and modern advertising have bleached the colours out of life for pretty much everybody. In the narrator's story, everything in his life is mass-produced and exceedingly predictable - right down to the colour of his boss' tie. It's after the narrator blows up his own apartment (while repressing the memory) and grabs a drink with Tyler, that he comes face to face with this problem. Tyler's answer? “The things you own, end up owning you.” Mind you, Palhanuik wrote this shit down ages before the first iPhones - although Fincher did pull a fast one on Starbucks. If you're rewatching this film, try and spot all the Starbucks cups he's included in this film - there's almost one for every single scene. How Toxic Masculinity Is Born Tyler Durden's purpose, statement and general idea is made pretty clear to the audience once the Fight Club itself is established - he wants to frame consumerism as the downfall of masculinity. Some of this is made clear from the very beginning, where The Narrator is portrayed as a perfect example of the emasculated male. He feels degraded by his job, he's psychologically weak and goes to support groups to hug strangers and cry - not exactly an example of peak masculinity, according to Tyler. As the group shares stories of being cuckolded and thrown aside, we meet Bob, introduced to us in the famous 'bitch tits' scene. Bob, once a bodybuilder, literally and figuratively loses his balls to testicular cancer, along with developing pseudo-breasts due to his hormone therapy. Along with his manhood, he ends up losing his family, his career and as a result, his sense of humanity. These men seek their answer by resorting to something they can never do in their dissatisfying everyday lives - reaching for one extreme of masculinity by being really, really violent. While Tyler ridicules the world of mass-produced masculinity, he sells them another, more visceral kind of manliness - one that changes them almost instantly. This isn't where the echo of emasculation ends, however. As the film goes on, Tyler reveals Project Mayhem - a scheme cooked up to demolish the consumerist nature of modern society. It's here that we see things coming full circle - as the men found meaning in Fight Club, Project Mayhem simply takes it away from them - this time turning them into identical, nameless soldiers willing to listen not to their bosses, but to Tyler Durden. (Note: The above clip contains a narration directly from the novel.) The emasculation is even more obvious when you take a look at Project Mayhem's punishment for interfering with the plan - straight up castration. In retrospect, this was a film destined to remain forever stuck in the 90s. It was a straight-up commercial failure during its release, and treads dangerous ground when we speak about modern portrayals of men and violence in cinema. Things don't attain cult status for nothing though, and despite every rewatch and reread of this story… there's something about blood, sweat and a penchant for chaos that resonates with every man who's sat in a cubicle, and thought about these words: via GIPHY
  3. After legendary director Martin Scorsese drew flak from the entire human race for his criticism of Marvel movies, fellow director Taika Waititi stepped in to support the MCU's cinematic ventures. Scorsese sparked controversy after comparing Marvel films to theme park rides. In an interview with Empire published last month, Scorsese said that he had “tried” to watch movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that they are “not cinema.” “Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks,” he said. “It isn't the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.” Waititi, who's returning to the director's chair for Thor: Love and Thunder's 2021 release, happens to be one of the most-loved minds behind any of the Marvel films. His work on Thor: Ragnarok was universally acclaimed by critics and fans alike - many of whom were excited to see his laidback, easygoing onscreen persona of Korg. In an interview with Associated Press regarding his upcoming project, Jojo Rabbit, Waititi took a moment to address Scorsese's criticism - as nonchalant as ever. "Of course it's cinema! It's at the movies." Director Taika Waititi (@TaikaWaititi) of "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Jojo Rabbit" responds to Martin Scorsese's criticism of Marvel movies as "not cinema." pic.twitter.com/nawpRK6FTl — AP Entertainment (@APEntertainment) 15 October 2019 While Scorsese has been very much a demanding filmmaker without compromise, Waititi has played both sides of the game. With multiple projects in the commercialised comic book world as well as excellent indie efforts in his filmography, he's probably the most qualified name to comment on Scorsese's criticism - leading to MCU fanboys squealing in excitement: Marvel is at the top and everybody is pressed. When avatar n its crappy "pocahontas" storyline was at the top nobody had shit to say. — Vanroy (@vechris) 15 October 2019 Meanwhile, more discerning cinemagoers stood on Scorsese's side. No, they are not actual cinema. I like Taika and 'Thor: Ragnarok', but the rest and most of the Marvel movies are soap operas with Marvel superheroes. Very low quality. — John Sant (@JohnSant87) 15 October 2019 Either way, it's a debate that no one asked for, but everyone got, somehow. If anything, Scorsese should be pleased - making headlines a mere fortnight before his next film, The Irishman, hits Netflix, theatres and every one of us hungry for a good old-fashioned mafia flick.
  4. Bigg Boss 13 is all set for its first finale and yes, if you still don't know, there are going to be two finales this season. According to recent reports, it is said that the Bigg Boss house is ready for its first wild card entry. Mumbai Mirror has reported that Bhojpuri actor Khesari Yadav can be expected as a wild card entry on the show. It is also said that Khesari Yadav was set to participate in Bigg Boss 13 from the beginning, but due to his work commitments, his entry was revised. A report also suggested that he is set to enter the show around Diwali and so far, no wild card entry has won the reality show. Bigg Boss 13 recently had its first dual eviction, as two contestants Dalljiet Kaur and Koena Mitra were evicted from the house as part of the weekly elimination ritual. © Viacom18 As of now, every day is a new day in Bigg Boss house, it is a madhouse with actors Rashami Desai, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Siddharth Shukla, Mahira Sharma, and Shehnaaz Gill locked in the house with singer Abu Malik, model Asif Riaz, Paras Chhabra, and Shefali Bagga. The brainchild of two finales has been introduced in the show this season. The idea is to have a mid-season finale and a super finale. The show's first finale will be after four weeks and in Tuesday's episode, Bigg Boss announced a task that would take one female member of the winning team to the grand finale. Confused? We can imagine, keep on watching the show for a better understanding of what's going to happen next.
  5. Following their dismal outing at the ICC World Cup in England & Wales, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is leaving no stone unturned in a bid to restructure their setup. From changing their coach to employing a new diet, the Pakistan cricket team has undergone a major overhaul that is expected to improve their performances in major tournaments. While majority of the changes have been met with appreciation, the PCB's new model which has sought an overhaul of developmental cricket in the country appears to have drawn flak from cricketers and fans alike. On one hand, the PCB's latest model will focus in the development of 200 players, the other cricketers and management staff have now been left to fend for themselves. Fazal Subhan, a first-class cricketer in Pakistan, has been rendered jobless following the PCB's deployment of the new model. The 31-year-old cricketer has a double hundred to his name in first-class cricket and boasts of a strike-rate over 131 in T20s. He was considered a great talent for the national berth until the PCB's crackdown on departmental cricket culture forced him to become a mini-van driver in Karachi to earn a living. SAD STORY OF ðµð° ð Fazal Subhan was the player of HBL, he has played U19 & A side cricket for Pakistan, he was contender of Pak Test team, After closing of Departmental cricket he is driving drive “BHARE KE SUZUKI” His salary was 1 lac & now earning is less then 40k ð ð ð pic.twitter.com/nq22vPY55v — Shoaib Jatt (@Shoaib_Jatt) October 11, 2019 “Yes, I drive this (pickup) for bhara (fare). This is seasonal work. Some days there is a lot of work, and sometimes there is nothing for 10 days. I worked so hard to play for Pakistan. During departmental cricket, we were drawing a salary of Rs 100,000 but since the departments have shut down we are down to Rs 30,000-35,000, which is not enough to survive,” the cricketer, who played for Habib Bank Limited, was heard telling a reporter in a viral video on social media. “I am grateful that at least I have this job right now because of the way things are, who knows if I would even have this tomorrow. We have no choice; we have to do something for our children,” he added. Speaking about his career, Fazal said: “I played for Pakistan Under-19 team, and I also played for Pakistan A. I appeared in 42 first-class matches and was among the top five for two years. I played the home series in Lahore against India. I had played thrice in the series, and scored 39, an unbeaten 22 and once I was out for naught. Once I was in the frame for a Pakistan call-up. I was told by the board to get ready. I had my passport scanned and everything but then I don't know what happened". So sad Really , Like him & Many others r suffering, New system wil look after 200 players but 1000s of crickters & management staff r Unemployed bcos of this new model , I dont know who wil take the responsibility of this unemployment of cricket fraternity, ð¤²ð¼ for all the victims https://t.co/SaQfAKVFU2 — Mohammad Hafeez (@MHafeez22) October 12, 2019 Subhan's drastic situation has garnered a strong reaction from cricketers and fans. While Kamran Akmal called it "sad and heartbreaking", Mohammad Hafeez asked the authority to take responsibility. While Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, a former cricket captain, has asked the PCB to abolish departmental cricket saying it is a corrupt system that blocks talents, another former captain Javed Miandad was critical of the decision saying it served the livelihood for several cricketers.
  6. The ICC World Cup 2019 match between India and Pakistan saw two very different kinds of reactions from people from all around the world. The Men in Green were bashed online for their lack of fitness, their casual attitude towards a match with the kind of stature that 'India vs Pakistan' normally possesses and the horrible team management and decision-making by the skipper to bowl first after winning the toss. After a certain point, the match become so one-sided that it was almost hilarious. Credit to the fans of Pakistani cricket, who took this loss in good stride and did not shy away from comically criticising their own players for the debacle of a match that they had just played. On the other hand, after the kind of domination the Indian cricket team displayed against Sarfaraz Ahmed's side, the fans of the Men in Blue did not hesitate in complementing their prowess in both batting and bowling as well as Virat Kohli's brilliance as the leader of a powerful team. However, after the match was over, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh shared a one of a kind video that perfectly depicted what every fan of the Bleed Blue army was feeling after defeating their cricketing rivals for the seventh straight time on the World Cup platform. Hahaha this is amazing.. super funny ðð have a look @imVkohli @ImRo45 @msdhoni @imjadeja team india https://t.co/9NcNEwqtcz — Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) June 17, 2019 Uploaded by a fan with a Twitter handle '@malick_priyesh', the video has the faces of Team India's playing XI morphed upon the faces of the dancers of the song 'Malhari' from the movie 'Bajirao Mastani' with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh's face being replaced with that of Virat Kohli. What makes the video exceptionally interesting and hilarious is the expressions of players like Kedar Jadhav and KL Rahul in the background as Kohli celebrates defeating the opponent by dancing in the centre. Ever since Harbhajan Singh retweeted this video, Twitter can't stop talking about it: Superb man... 7. Break ups are bad and seemingly the one advice you always get post your break up, is keeping your distance from your ex-girlfriend. Have you heard your friends always tell you "whatever you do bro, just don't hook up with your ex, move on man"? Well, that advice is valid and legit only because you want to forget the past and move forward and maybe give someone else a chance. But there is a lingering feeling deep inside you, which probably still connects to your ex, and it's kinda inevitable and there is nothing you can do to contain that feeling really. © MensXP There may come a time where you will bump into your ex at a party or a bar, and if you haven't seen each other for long, you'll either ignore each other's respective presence or rekindle long lost conversations. Most likely, it's the latter and sometimes, those conversations could bring about latent feelings and the sexual pleasure you both derived from each other. Yes, sleeping with an ex is as common as the common cold and many of us indulge in it, and feel either ashamed or angry the next day or know for a fact that feelings for them still remain. But what if I told you, sleeping with an ex is not that bad, after all? Yes, you read that right. According to some recent research from Wayne State University, having *** with your ex might not be such a bad idea, in fact, the research argues that it may even be a 'good' idea. © MensXP The study was conducted in two parts and it analysed the daily experiences and activities of 113 individuals who'd recently broken up or were going through a break-up. Two months after the break-up, they were given a questionnaire to fill. The questionnaire asked if they'd tried to have physical contact with their ex and if they were emotionally attached to them and how they felt, every day, after they'd had some form of physical contact with their ex. The second part was somewhat similar, where 372 participants were asked to take a survey, which asked them similar questions about physical contact with their ex's and their level of attachments with them. The result was quite fascinating actually. Rather than expecting that sleeping with an ex is emotionally turbulent and can leave feelings to linger on, hindering your ability to move on, while prolonging the heartbreak, the researchers found that sleeping with an ex really didn't stop the day-today healing process. The participants who pined after their exes were more likely to have *** with them and even after that they didn't feel heartbroken or emotionally stunted, or even upset. In fact, hooking up with their ex, left them feeling more positive, every day. © MensXP "This research suggests that societal handwringing regarding trying to have *** with an ex may not be warranted. The fact that *** with an ex is found to be most eagerly pursued by those having difficulty moving on, suggests that we should perhaps instead more critically evaluate people's motivations behind pursuing *** with an ex." - the lead researcher, Stephanie Spielmann said in an interview with an international publication. But that being established, it's always necessary to know where you stand with your feelings and your emotions. There may have been research conducted to establish that *** is good with the ex but more often than not, it's subjective. If you feel mangled up and distraught after any form of physical contact with them or if you feel that physical intimacy with an ex acts as a deterrent for you to move on successfully, then you have to weigh your decision well. But if you think like the rest of the subjects from the research, your feelings are intact and you feel good about it, then, of course, go for it. But remember, don't have any expectations. if you're sleeping with an ex, in order to win them back, it may lead to more complications later and leave you more heartbroken than before!
  8. Whenever neighbouring countries India and Pakistan lock horns on the cricket field, the excitement around this massive fixture tends to reach an all-time high. The fans on both sides of the border are seen taunting each other on social media and, every now and then, Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza finds herself caught in the crosshairs. Cringeworthy ads on both sides of the border 𤮠seriously guys, you don't need to 'hype up' or market the match anymore specially with rubbish! it has ENOUGH attention already! It's only cricket for God sake, and if you think it's anymore than that then get a grip or get a life !! — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) June 12, 2019 Ahead of the Indo-Pak encounter at the ongoing ICC World Cup, Mirza had tweeted her frustration over the unnecessary hype around the much-anticipated fixture which also saw a distasteful video coming to the fore. "Cringeworthy ads on both sides of the border 𤮠seriously guys, you don't need to 'hype up' or market the match anymore specially with rubbish! it has ENOUGH attention already! It's only cricket for God sake, and if you think it's anymore than that then get a grip or get a life," she had tweeted. But, despite the extensive build-up, the so-called mother of all battles failed to live up to the billing. In what turned out to be a one-sided affair, Pakistan were overshadowed in almost all facets of the game by a rampant Indian brigade during their 89-run loss (D/L) at Old Trafford in Manchester. Witnessing their national team lose to arch-rivals India, the Pakistani fans wasted no time in expressing their feelings on social media. While some slammed captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for yawning behind the stumps, others questioned the fitness of Pakistani cricketers after a video of them eating junk food went viral. ðThat's the video you shot without asking us,disrespecting our privacy even though we had a child with us?& got told off for doing so,& u came up with this crap?FYI 'outing' was dinner & yes ppl are allowed to eat if they lose a match!Bunch of fools!Try better content nxt timeð https://t.co/51gnkMWUYu — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) June 15, 2019 There were also some tweets targeting Mirza, who was seen in the company of her hubby Shoaib Malik alongside his teammates. Tired of the criticism, Mirza hit back at the trolls by tweeting: "That's the video you shot without asking us, disrespecting our privacy even though we had a child with us? & got told off for doing so,& u came up with this crap? FYI 'outing' was dinner & yes ppl are allowed to eat if they lose a match! Bunch of fools! Try better content nxt time". But, amidst all that, Veena Malik joined the chorus and probably took it too far by schooling the Indian tennis star on parenting. Sania, I am actually so worried for the kid. You guys took him to a sheesha place isn't it Hazardious? Also as far as I know Archie's is all about junk food which isn't good for athletes/Boys. You must know well as you are mother and athlete yourself? https://t.co/RRhaDfggus — VEENA MALIK (@iVeenaKhan) June 17, 2019 It all began when the Pakistani actress tweeted out: "Sania, I am actually so worried for the kid. You guys took him to a sheesha place isn't it Hazardious? Also as far as I know Archie's is all about junk food which isn't good for athletes/Boys. You must know well as you are mother and athlete yourself?". Veena,I hav not taken my kid to a sheesha place. Not that it's any of your or the rest of the world's business cause I think I care bout my son a lot more than anyone else does :) secondly I am not Pakistan cricket team's dietician nor am I their mother or principal or teacher". To know when they sleep, wake up and eat .. thank you for your concern though .. means a lot âð½ https://t.co/R4lXSm794B — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) June 17, 2019 Mirza also mentioned the Pakistani actress' scandalous magazine cover but deleted the tweet soon after. Reconsidering her words, Mirza excluded the magazine taunt and tweeted again: "To know when they sleep, wake up and eat..thank you for your concern though..means a lot". But, despite deleting her tweet, Mirza, who had blocked the Pakistani actress by then, couldn't stop Veena from revealing the screenshot of her tweet on the microblogging website. Have some guts & don't delete ur tweets.Fortunately the technology has progressed so much that people can't deny their acts.Oh the magazine's cover u mentioned had morphed images. Also I can bringup all the controversies U have ever had bt I would rather not divert the discusion. pic.twitter.com/8qednFvEBz — VEENA MALIK (@iVeenaKhan) June 17, 2019 "Have some guts & don't delete ur tweets. Much Love Veena Malik," she tweeted. Retweeting a reply, Veena then left a piece of advice for the beloved 'bhabhi', bringing it to her attention that personal attacks will not take her anywhere. "Dearest Bhabhi, Attacking someone personally and reaching new heights of being low will not take you anywhere. Love, Veena Malik," she wrote on Twitter.
  9. Ranveer Singh was at Old Trafford in Manchester for the India vs Pakistan match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Singh was trending throughout the game due to his crazy appearance and even crazier antics. 10. The past two days have been tormenting for the cricketing fans of Pakistan. First, the Men in Green faced a rather disappointing loss at the hands of Virat Kohli's Indian cricket team at Old Trafford, Manchester and were blasted online by their own supporters. The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side were criticised on a lot of levels from the lack of strategic management to poor captaincy by Ahmed to even eating junk food a few hours before the match began. Former legendary cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar went on an 11 minute+ rant of himself, criticising everything bad about Pakistan's performance during the game and did not spare even the finest, more experienced athletes on the roster including Shoaib Malik. On the other hand, their South Asian rivals in Team Bangladesh came out strong against the West Indies successfully chasing a huge total of 321 in less than 42 overs thanks to monstrous innings played by Shakib Al Hasan (124*) and Liton Das (94*), further increasing the points difference against Pakistan. The Tigers have been performing deceptively well during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. While not a lot of people expected them to be a front runner for the World Cup trophy this year, the Mashrafe Mortaza-led side is currently fifth on the points table, just one point away from making it to the top four with four matches still to be played two of which are against Afghanistan and Pakistan themselves. Keeping in mind the way in which Team Bangladesh have emerged as the ultimate underdogs of the tournament, Pakistani fans are thinking of switching sides to Bangladesh, recalling the history the two countries have shared and calling them 'East Pakistan': Supporting east pakistan from now on.... ðððð#BANvsWI pic.twitter.com/NhBNdz06Ua — pukhtoon (@beingpukhtun) June 17, 2019 That's how you play for your nation and chase 321 target like a champion . 11. After a fortnight of conjecture, Chelsea Football Club announced the exit of Maurizio Sarri as their manager through their website. The Italian will now join Serie A giants Juventus, penning a three-year long contract with the Bioncaneri. Unlike predecessors Jose Mourinho and Anotnio Conte, Sarri was never a popular figure at Chelsea. Despite a winning start and going unbeaten for the first 12 league games of the campaign, becoming the first manager in the history of the Premier League to do so, and a home win against champions Manchester City in December; a poor run of form and dip in results in the beginning of 2019 led to discontent among fans and higher level management alike. © Reuters In a club that is used to watching adaptive and reactive football, Sarri's stubborn and tactical approach did not sit well with fans. The Jorginho-Kante situation is a perfect example of this. The brilliant Frenchman was made to play away from his usual defensive midfield position to accommodate Sarri's system that needed Jorginho in the center of midfield to bridge the gap between defense and attack. This did not go down well with the fans. Even after securing Champions League football with a third place finish in the Premier League and the Europa League title, Sarri will not be the manager of Chelsea next year. It has since been debated whether the Italian was forced out of the club or he opted to seek greener pastures at Juventus. But it highlights a major problem for the West London club- the owner and board of the club never bought into Maurizio's philosophy and hiring a manger like him without believing in him is a poor decision, given Chelsea's previous track record with managers. Sarri joins Juventus as part of a clear project, to win the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy and to implement an attacking and possession based style of football while doing so. For Chelsea, however, uncertainty rings throughout Stamford Bridge regarding who will take up the role. Thank you and good luck for the future, Maurizio. ð pic.twitter.com/dGHzekBNPT — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 16, 2019 Former Stamford Bridge hero Frank Lampard is the bookmaker's favourite with former players Jody Morris and Petr Cech set to take up roles as Assistant Manager and Technical Director respectively. It seems likely that Chelsea will be bringing the old guard back but they will be in charge of the backroom operations rather than taking the field. The appointments might excite fans of the club but it also highlights two major concerns, a major change of approach from owner Roman Abramovich and the Chelsea board; and the lack of options at Chelsea's disposal to replace Sarri. Only one year into his management career with tier-two side Derby County, Frank Lampard may be a Chelsea hero, but he's a very inexperienced appointment which is uncharacteristic of Abramovich and Chelsea. Petr Cech, having just retired from football, filling the role of Technical Director is another massive risk. © Reuters With a particularly hard dressing room to manage that has gone through 4 managers in 6 seasons, the transfer of star talisman Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and a potential two-window transfer ban from FIFA due to the breaches concerning the transfer of players who are under 18, the problems are piling up for the Blues. Other managerial options such as former blues boss Jose Mourinho and ex-Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri are unlikely to take charge of such a problematic dressing room. Lampard and the old guard look like Chelsea's best option. After a successful campaign with Derby County, very nearly clinching promotion to the Premier League, Lampard has shown a Mourinho-esque swagger in his time at Derby and his promotion of youth and positive tactics are big reasons why Chelsea would consider the Englishman for the job. However, overwhelming questions still remain unanswered for Chelsea. Can Lampard do the job for them? If not him, then whom? How will they cope with the potential transfer ban? How will they balance a problematic dressing room with an up-and-coming academy? All things said and done, however, the appointment comes at a time when a legend like Lampard's appointment could be the bounce that Chelsea fans need to reignite their passion for the club as they will kick-off their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford on 11th August.
  12. Ahead of the ICC World Cup in England and Wales, as soon as the schedule was announced, the date 16th June was earmarked by cricket fans on their respective calendars, as they rearranged their schedule to accommodate for the highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan. A little over two weeks into the tournament, the mother of all battles was finally there, pitting arch-rivals India and Pakistan against each other. While inclement weather was expected to disrupt the proceedings at Old Trafford in Manchester, the fans were still unnerved with anticipations of an exciting contest. But, what eventually unfolded on the 'D-day' was hard to fathom. Despite their dismal record against India at the ICC events, the Pakistani cricket team was expected to put up a good show against their arch-rivals, especially after getting the better of them in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. But, contrary to popular perception, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side failed to negate the Indian challenge and fell flat in what proved to be a one-sided affair. On a big day, India's big-name batsmen delivered. Here are their best shots! #INDvPAK #CWC19 #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/kIta58HmAc — ICC (@ICC) June 16, 2019 Rohit Sharma's blistering knock of 140 runs had powered India to a formidable total of 336 runs. And, in reply, Pakistan were humbled by the Indian bowling unit, even when they lost frontline bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar to an untimely injury in the fifth over. Poor shot selection, lack of temperament and failure to stitch key partnerships, all added to the downfall of Pakistan in their forgettable 89-run loss (D/L). If losing to their arch-rivals wasn't enough, the poor performance by the Pakistani cricketers further left their fans baffled. Guiding his team to a famous win on the back of a 'Man of the Match' performance, Rohit was visibly happy in the post-match press conference. But, after winning everyone over with his formidable show with the bat, Rohit took the social media by storm for his response to a journalist's query. 15. Me Too Movement in India came in when Tanushree Dutta finally broke her silence and narrated her ordeal in front of the public eye. She said she was sexually harassed by Nana Patekar on the sets of 'Horn Ok Pleassss'. Post this big revelation, there was a cascade of allegations that followed. Big names like Sajid Khan and Alok Nath also couldn't escape the wave of this movement. In Tanushree and Nana's case, there was a big development yesterday. Nana Patekar walked out freely with a clean chit as cops couldn't find any evidence against the veteran actor. Due to lack of evidence, allegations levelled against Nana have been claimed as false. Many supporters of Nana have been rebuking Tanushree for framing Nana in this case. But, Tanushree is clearly not in favour of the judgement. She is rather feeling disgusted to know that such a development has been taken in her case. My client is innocent and justice will be served." (file pic) pic.twitter.com/c2zjRcZFzP — ANI (@ANI) June 13, 2019 She told Bombay Times, “This is disgusting because Nana Patekar has been trying to get a clean chit for a while, now. I have also mentioned this earlier in an interview that our witnesses have been getting threat calls, and they are being intimidated and pressured in every way so that they do not record their statements with the police. We have 10 witnesses, out of which only one-and-a-half statements have been recorded. The others have not even come forward, as they have got threat calls.” Tanushree added that she isn't much disappointed because she didn't expect much in this case. According to her, Nana is desperately trying to get back to doing films and wants his name to be cleared in the harassment case. She also added that the witnesses that the police have recorded the statements (in his favour) from are his friends. Tanushree is not giving up and will continue to fight. “My only hope of judgement now is from God. I will continue this fight,” said Tanushree. Interestingly, Nana has not even given a single statement justifying his innocence. We wonder if the whole case against Nana is farce or we are ignoring the cries of a woman in this world of men and are trying to brush a man's ego. What's your take? Let's us know in the comments section below.
  16. For a team that shocked hosts England earlier in the tournament, Pakistan looked a mere shadow of themselves during their disappointing 41-run loss against Australia in their fourth match at the ongoing ICC World Cup. From poor fielding, wayward bowling and irresponsible batting, Pakistan were overwhelmed in almost all the facets of the game. For a team that was tipped to scare the other teams by captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan's off-day didn't just leave their skipper red-faced, but would have left their fans really disappointed. After their loss, there was a lot of criticism aimed at Pakistan on the social media by the cricket fans. But, during the game, a Pakistani fan rose to stardom after his emotionless picture in the stands surfaced on the social media. Asif Ali had already become a subject of immense criticism after dropping Aaron Finch in the slip cordon in the 13th over. But, it was his second attempt at another opportunity that left Pakistan loyalists baffled. © Reuters In the 37th over, David Warner had already notched up his hundred and was looking set to accelerate the innings. But, his decision to play the upper-cut off Wahab Riaz presented an opportunity to Pakistan to send him back into the hut. But, to the sheer horror of Pakistani fans, Ali dropped an absolute sitter. As the cameras panned over him, Ali cut himself a sorry figure, appearing apologetic with hands on his hips. As the cameras remained stationed on him for a few seconds, the reaction of a Pakistani fan in the backdrop perfectly captured the mood of the team. Struggling to come to terms with the fact that Ali had dropped a regulation catch, the fan simply stood there with hands on his waist before turning away. After Australia's innings, a Pakistani reporter tracked down the man and sat with him to know why he reacted the way he did. “It was just a straightforward catch. It was really disappointing to see it happen right in front of me getting dropped. It probably showed all over my face," he said. But why didn't he heckle the cricketer, especially when Ali was stationed metres away from him? And I couldn't say anything because he had just come off a family tragedy, so I didn't shout at him,” the Pakistani fan added. The fan was referring to Ali's 19-month-old daughter's demise earlier this May, after which he was recalled to the side for the World Cup tournament. While Pakistan lost the match, their fan won a lot of praise for his thoughtful gesture in the stands.
  17. Exactly a week from now will mark the one month anniversary since the last episode of 'Game of Thrones' was aired across the globe. While fans have not yet been able to get over the shocker that was the final season of 'GOT', it seems that the makers are not in the mood to let the fans get over the pain and disappointment any time soon. © HBO After HBO submitted the dissatisfactory final episodes from its highly criticised final season of 'Game of Thrones' for Emmy consideration, fans have been left furious. 18. Winning two matches in as many outings, the Indian cricket team is undoubtedly in scintillating form in the ongoing ICC World Cup. Giving South Africa a run for their money and then, getting the better of Australia, the 'Men in Blue' are surely living up the reputation as one of the top contenders for the coveted title this year. But, after a fairly successful start in the tournament, the Indian team was dealt with a major blow after it was announced that Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out for about two to three weeks owing to a hairline fracture on his left thumb. After some nervy starts, the Indian opener rediscovered his form on the back of a match-winning knock of 117 runs against Australia. And, his injury surely comes as a setback for both himself and his team. © Reuters In a bid to fill the void left by his injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to fly in swashbuckling Rishabh Pant to England but it's still not clear if the youngster will actually get a chance to break into India's playing XI anytime soon. On the other hand, the BCCI is keeping close tabs on Dhawan, who has been given a week to prove his fitness. It all seems like a bad dream for the Delhi batsman who is one of the most successful batsmen for India (with six hundreds) in ICC tournaments, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. He may be down, but surely not out (just yet) - something Dhawan highlighted in his recent post on social media. Kabhimehekkitarah hum gulon se udtehain... Kabhidhuyeinkitarah hum parbaton se udtehain... Ye kainchiyaanhumeinudne se khaakrokengi... Ke hum paron se nahinhoslon se udtehain...#DrRahatIndori Ji pic.twitter.com/h5wzU2Yl4H — ShikharDhawan (@SDhawan25) June 12, 2019 In an inspirational tweet, the 33-year-old shared a verse from Dr RahatIndori's poem, signalling his intentions. "Kabhi mehek ki tarah hum gulon se udte hain...Kabhi dhuyein ki tarah hum parbaton se udtehain...Ye kainchiyaan humein udne se khaak rokengi...Ke hum paron se nahin hoslon se udte hain...#DrRahatIndori Ji," Dhawan tweeted. While fans hope Dhawan recovers in time to lead the charge for his team, Virat Kohli-led India will be eager to continue their fine run when they lock horns with New Zealand at Trent Bridge on 13th June.
  19. Going into the ICC World Cup, the Indian cricket team was tipped as one of the favourites to lift the coveted trophy in England & Wales this year. Staying true to their reputation, Team India made their intentions pretty clear by defeating the likes of South Africa and Australia to post consecutive wins in the ongoing tournament. Apart from their victories, it's the domination of the Indian team in almost all facets of the game that has allowed them to establish themselves as serious contenders this year - something that was validated by Michael Vaughan after their triumph over Australia. But, just when you thought all was going well, the 'Men in Blue' were dealt a major blow after the disclosure of Shikhar Dhawan's injury. The Indian opener, who rediscovered his form with a brilliant knock of 117 runs against Australia, has been ruled out for about two to three weeks owing to an alleged hairline fracture on his left thumb. The left-hander was struck on his left thumb by a Nathan Coulter-Nile's bouncer during India's 36-run win over Australia on 9th June. © Reuters The news has surely got the Indian team in a spot of bother. For a team that relies heavily on their top three, India will undeniably miss Dhawan at the top especially after his return to form following some nervy starts earlier. But, that's not the only thing that has got the Indian team management and selectors in a fix. Dhawan's absence is bound to disrupt Team India's batting line-up and team balance. His injury means that India will now have to find someone to replace him at the top while ensuring the middle-order stays intact. And, as the Indian selectors and team management consider viable options, the chorus on social media seems to be in support of Rishabh Pant. The Delhi batsman has been one of the finds for India in the past few months. His breathtaking strokeplay and aggressive batting style is not only capable of taking on the best bowling attacks, but also looks pleasing to the eye - something that has made him a fan-favourite in a short period of time. © Reuters But, despite his heroics on overseas tours and the IPL earlier this year, Pant was overlooked for Team India's 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup - something that caused quite an uproar on the social media. Two matches into the World Cup, Dhawan's injury has got the Indian selectors facing a similar situation where the fans are gearing up to slam them if they overlook Pant again. But, is he worth it? Going by his form and ability with the willow, any team would be lucky to have a batsman as capable as Pant in their batting line-up. But, the current situation is not about Pant or his batting capabilities, it's about Team India and maintaining its balance. Don't agree? Allow us to help you understand. With Dhawan leaving a void at the top, the Indian team management is likely to push KL Rahul to the opening slot alongside Rohit Sharma - an obvious choice considering he's well acclimatised to the conditions. Now, Rahul's ascension in the line-up leaves the no. 4 slot vacant which holds key to Indian batting order's stability. © Reuters Now, Pant cannot just walk into the Indian team and open the innings. That's just too big a risk in a tournament of World Cup's stature. He can surely be vital for the middle-order, but being one-dimensional is not going to help his cause. With MS Dhoni being an immovable object in the wicket-keeping role, Pant cannot be included just for his batting skills. If you take a look at India's middle-order, the likes of Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya are capable of contributing with both bat and ball. Thus, when it comes to finding a potential replacement following Dhawan's injury, Vijay Shankar, and not Pant, appears to be the perfect fit in relation to the team balance. Shankar is a versatile batsman who is capable of batting anywhere in the middle. He is more than capable of holding the fort at one end in case of a collapse, and his wide array of strokes adequately allows him to accelerate the innings at the death overs. And, that's not all. Shankar's inclusion in the Indian team will not only bolster their batting, but will also add teeth to their bowling line-up - something that has left Pant in the shadows lately. In case of a bad day for frontline bowlers, Shankar can ease the pressure off by bowling in some of his medium-paced deliveries and giving his captain an extra option with the ball. In all fairness, Pant is a cricketer Team India can surely use, but cannot afford owing to the team balance. And, right now, given the situation, India needs Shankar who doesn't just fit the bill, but can prove to be crucial in India's dreams of clinching their third World Cup title this year.
  20. Going into the tournament, fans and experts had identified a handful of players who would go to play a crucial role in Team India's campaign at the ICC World Cup. The first and most obvious candidate is of course captain Virat Kohli whose batting prowess and leadership skills are expected to get his team all the way. Amongst other probables who were expected to make a mark, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal were also looked upon as key players for India. While everyone expected Bumrah to do the damage with his searing pace and precision in line and lengths early on, Chahal was bestowed with the responsibility of doing the damage with his cunning variations in the middle order - a script that dictated South Africa's fate in their clash in Southampaton on 5th June. Winning the toss and deciding to bat, the Proteas were, to an extent, conned into believing that the conditions were suited for batting and posting a formidable total upfront. But, popular to contrary perception, the South African batting unit was picked apart by a spectacular show from Bumrah and Chahal. Reuters It all began in the fourth over, when Bumrah's tight angle got Hashim Amla (6) stuck into a stop-shot, eventually forcing an outside edge that went straight into the hands of Rohit Sharma at second slip. In his next over, Bumrah's cunning plan - with adequate support from Kohli - led to the dismissal of Quinton de Kock (10). With their side reeling at 24/2, South Africa needed a strong partnership which eventually came through the efforts of and Faf du Plessis (38) and Rassie van der Dussen (22). With the two Proteas batsmen rebuilding their innings by adding 54 runs for the third wicket, India needed to counter the potential threat. And, that's when Chahal's spin wizardry came to the fore. Reuters In what arguably turned out to be one of the deliveries of the tournament, Chahal's drift and rip on the ball turned Van der Dussen into a laughing stock after his reverse-sweep led to a dismissal. It was undeniably a vital breakthrough, but Chahal wasn't done yet. In fact, the Indian leg-spinner had another gem of a delivery up his sleeves for opposition captain Du Plessis who was outfoxed in a classic spinner's dismissal. pic.twitter.com/UjzhO7fCFc — Maqbool (@im_maqbool) June 5, 2019 pic.twitter.com/8i5QmbkmHa — Maqbool (@im_maqbool) June 5, 2019 At the other end, his spin-bowling partner Kuldeep Yadav, too, joined the party and dismissed JP Duminy (3) in the 23rd over after wrapping him in front of the stumps. Though Duminy went for the review, but even the DRS couldn't save him following his poor shot-selection. Reuters Despite two wickets in his kitty, Chahal's breakthrough act continued as he once again helped his side in breaking the partnership. David Miller (31) and Andile Phehlukwayo (34) had added 46 runs for the sixth wicket when Chahal removed the former in a simple caught and bowled dismissal in the 36th over. Few overs later, Chahal struck again to send Phehlukwayo back into the hut after foxing him in the length to allow MS Dhoni to complete a regulation stumping. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, too, got his name under the wickets column after claiming the scalps of Chris Morris (42) and Imran Tahir (0) in the final over as the Proteas crumbled to 227/9 in 50 overs. Reuters While every Indian bowler contributed in their own way, it was undoubtedly Bumrah and Chahal whose impressive figures of 2-35 and 4-51 respectively earned them plaudits from fans and pundits alike. Fantastic effort by the bowlers to restrict South Africa to 227. Bumrah began exceptionally and the wrist spinners capitalised, Chahal was superb in his 10 overs and I back India to chase down this total. #INDvSA — VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) June 5, 2019 Jasprit Bumrah is simply sensational. — Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif) June 5, 2019 on chahal TV tonight chahal will have so much to ask chahal #CWC19 #INDvSA — Gaurav Kalra (@gauravkalra75) June 5, 2019 23 days ago some mercy and amazing gesture for DeKock, but today no mercy . 21. iTunes is regarded as one of the most iconic music applications, that has been a part of Apple's ecosystem for 18 years. It was initially used to manage music for Apple's iPod and iPhone products and later became a comprehensive store for selling music, movies and TV shows, that was later expanded to devices such as the iPad and Apple TV. However, reports are now suggesting that the Cupertino giant is now going to bid goodbye to the iconic application and replace it with existing applications that support subscription services. © Apple Bloomberg reports that Apple is expected to announce three separate apps for music, TV and podcasts that will basically replace the iTunes store. The move is said to come to streamline content on separate platforms. Apple has already announced a new Apple TV+ service and it seems like it may be the reason for the shutting down of iTunes. The move is expected to be announced tonight at Apple's annual WWDC event. Currently, the iTunes application is only available on MacBooks and iMacs as iPhones and iPads already offer separate applications for TV, Music and Podcast. By streamlining these apps, Apple will become a multifaceted service provider as well. © Apple Due to this report, Apple users have already responded with concerns on Twitter. However, Apple has assured that music, movies and TV shows that have already been purchased by users from iTunes will still be available on the Music app with an Apple Music subscription. Users who have redeemed iTunes gift cards will also be credited to the Apple ID balance. This balance can be later used on the App Store, upgrade iCloud storage or for buying one of the subscription services from Apple. Source: Bloomberg
  22. Ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 matchup between West Indies and Pakistan, we called both the teams two of the most unpredictable sides of the tournament who could either do exceedingly well and look like world champions or crash and burn like test dummies. Now, after experiencing the way things went down during the game, it would be an educated guess to say which side played like the kings and the other, their squires. Sarfaraz Ahmed's squad began their 2019 World Cup journey with one of the worst performances in cricketing history for the country. Scoring a total of 105 runs before getting all out in the 22nd over of their innings and thanks to Chirs 'Universe Boss' Gayle's crackling start to the Windies innings, the Carrabean stars were able to wrap up the game quickly and enjoy their evening celebrating the easy win. Credit: Reuters With some of their top batsmen like Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Sohail and the skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, himself returning back to the pavilion with their score in single digits, it seems as if, Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, is their only hope. The 21-year-old seems to be ahead of the Pakistani cricket team in both, batting skills and the confidence to banter against a team like India. She displayed her prowess in both departments during the opening event of the Cricket World Cup 2019 during the '60-Second Challenge' in which two representatives from every participating nation were to score the maximum number of runs in a minute. Representing Pakistan were Malala and cricketer Azhar Ali and finished second from the bottom. The Indian duo of Bollywood fame Farhan Akhtar and former Indian head coach Anil Kumble were not in their top form and finished rock bottom at the event. Credit: Twitter “I really enjoyed playing here today. We were okay, not too bad… but India came last,” the Nobel Prize winner had said after the challenge got over. Now, the way the national team of Pakistan played against Jason Holder's boys, it might not be a bad idea to give Malala and her batting skills a shot in the next game and it is something the people of the Twitter world agree on, as well: Cant believe Malala Scored better than Farhan Azimi in Street Cricket Contest. #PakvWI — John Wick (@malikasimriaz) May 30, 2019 #PAKvWI @windiescricket will win definitely in style..â @TheRealPCB Need batting performance of @Malala to winðð — bhavesh kumar shakey (@Shakeybhavesh) May 31, 2019 Dont blame us for this batting performance. 23. Let's admit it, relationships can be pretty unpredictable. You may love and laugh one minute and all of a sudden find yourself in a heated argument over one of the most senseless subjects. Don't tell us it hasn't happened to you ever, because we won't believe it. But again, that's how any relationship is like, isn't it? It's just that the impact of the same is a lot more harsh when the argument or fight happens to occur in your romantic relationship. Heck, it becomes all the more difficult because we never know how best to patch-up after an argument with our partner. Now the key to this is communication, but that itself becomes such a start because we simply don't know how to initiate a conversation after a fight. But worry not, these foolproof ways of starting a conversation with your partner will not put you in a spot. 1. Text Her © Getty Images If you're too anxious about calling her, then drop her a text expressing how you feel or maybe ask them how they're feeling. That is sure to get you a response. 2. Call Her © Getty Images We always recommend calling over all else. Why? Because that's the easiest way of showing you care and also that you're thinking about them. If they pick up, that's half the problem solved right there. *Winks* 3. Seek A Middle-Ground © Getty Images That is until the argument/fight wasn't your fault. Because if it was, then there should be no hesitation in apologising for whatever you got wrong. 4. Forgive & Forget © Getty Images If it wasn't a great showdown or something major, consider the “raat gayi, baat gayi” route. No matter who is at fault, we suggest that (reasonable) forgiveness and moving beyond differences are the biggest requirements in a relationship. 5. Plan A Date & Ask Them Out © Getty Images Set up a date and then invite your partner to hang out with you. The fact that you wish to spend time with them even after the fight shows that you are making efforts and feel genuinely about reconciliations.
  24. The second half of the UEFA Europa League final between Chelsea and Arsenal has to be engraved in the heart and mind of Eden Hazard for the rest of his life. While teammates Olivier Giroud and Pedro provided a solid 2-0 lead to the Blues, it was the Belgian who put the final nail in the coffin for the Gunners when he scored a penalty and a cheeky grounded shot in the 65th and 72nd minutes, respectively. "I think it's a goodbye, but in football you never know," he told BT Sport to confirm what a lot of us were expecting for a long time now. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said: "I know he wants to leave and I have to respect his decision." "He is a wonderful player. It took two or three months for me to understand him as a man and now I do, he's a wonderful man." "He's an extraordinary player. He is a strange boy but when he understands it is extraordinary." Hazard has been phenomenal for the Blues ever since joining them back in 2012. He has made a total of 352 appearances for the club and his two Europa League final goals moves his tally to 110 and 92 assists while winning the Premier League (2), Europa League (2), FA Cup (1) and the League Cup (1). He was also honoured with the PFA Player of the Year award and the FWA Player of the year award as a member of the team. Flooded with emotions, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to show their gratitude for the 28-year-old boy wonder for everything he has done for the club and wished him luck for wherever he plays next (we know it's going to be Real Madrid, isn't it?). 132 seconds on Chelsea & Eden mutha-f*cking Hazard pic.twitter.com/aetZhNWDDh — Alex Goldberg (@AlexGoldberg_) May 29, 2019 2012 - Didier Drogba scores to win Chelsea the Champions League and leaves a legend. 2019 - Eden Hazard scores twice to win Chelsea the Europa League and is leaving a legend. 25. On May 24th, people working in and around sector 18 of Cyber City got the shock of their lives, when they saw a woman standing on the edge of a five-storey building's terrace. According to reports and the videos and pictures people clicked, the woman was threatening to jump off the building. © for representation Turns out, it was the woman's office building, and she took this extreme step because she was upset that she was fired. Reportedly, she works at a private consultancy firm and was upset and sad that she wasn't confirmed after her probation period got over. When her colleagues heard about it, they rushed to the terrace and tried persuading her to come down. She threatened that she will jump off if the office management didn't hire her back as a permanent employee. In some pictures and video, there's a man who carefully approaches her and convinces her to come off the edge. © Twitter Inspector Vivek Kundu, SHO of Sector 18 police station told The Times Of India, "On May 24, when she got to know that the company was not hiring her as a permanent employee, following the end of her probation period, she threatened to kill herself." The woman came down only after the company assured to hire her back. According to the company manager, she wasn't hired after her probation because her performance wasn't satisfactory. However, according to the woman she was being punished for standing up against the management since "they did not have the proper environment for women empowerment." To all those people reading this story, threatening to kill oneself is not a solution to any problem. If someone is unhappy with your performance, prove them wrong with your hard work, instead of taking such extreme measures to get your job back. Please do not try to recreate what this woman did, this is not cool at all.
