  7. While the BJP losing the West Bengal elections to TMC was met with celebration by a section of people, what happened post elections is something that left everyone in a state of complete shock. In the last few days, it was been reported that there has been major violence in the state, as both the BJP and the TMC have been accusing each other consistently of brutality. © Twitter/FAM4TMC Recently, West Bengal BJP released a video using a photo of Abhro Banerjee, a journalist from India Today and claimed that it's Momik Moitra. According to BJP, party workers Momik Moitra along with Mintu Barman were killed in Sitalkuchi in the post-poll violence, but the identity and existence of 'Momik Moitra' could not be verified. © Twitter/Abhroh Banerjee The video was posted on the official page of West Bengal BJP, which has now been taken down but is still there on the BJP4India handle. The video has been watched innumerable times now by people on Twitter. Following the gaffe, Abhro Banerjee took to Twitter himself to clarify that it's not him in the video. He wrote "I am Abhro Banerjee, living and hale and hearty and around 1,300 km away from Sitalkuchi. BJP IT Cell is now claiming I am Manik Moitra and died in Sitalkuchi. Please don't believe these fake posts and please don't worry. I repeat: I am (still) alive" I am Abhro Banerjee, living and hale and hearty and around 1,300 km away from Sitalkuchi. Even before I could check what happened, my friend, Arvind, told me that the BJP IT cell has used my picture in place of Manik Moitra who had allegedly died in Sitalkuchi." "I was shocked as I am 1400 kms away and the kind of misinformation can be quite damaging," © Facebook/Abhroh Banerjee In the violence that took place in West Bengal, at least six people died and BJP claimed that TMC people killed at least 14 of their party workers. In the video, BJP showed clips of the alleged attacks on the workers. But, instead of adding pictures of 'Momik Moitra', a picture of Abhro Banerjee was put up. This has now become a topic of wide discussion on Twitter and here's how the people reacted to it. Bhai take care. If they come to know you are happy and still alive, this combination entitled only for 2 billionaires, you are calling for trouble. 8. We all know about how horrible, certain bosses can be, especially if you’re a freelancer, working on a contractual basis. Career experts always say that having a good boss is the most important blessing a potential employee can ask for. © iStock Well, it seems that the internet has found out the Karen (or Ken, for that matter) of bosses. A CEO of a tech start-up paid his freelance employees using cryptocurrency, back in August 2020. However, now he’s demanding that his employees return the cryptocurrencies they received as salaries. The reason? The meteoric rise that cryptocurrencies have seen. © iStock All this came to light, when one of the employees, wrote into Marketwatch, a stock aggregating and financial news website, asking for advice, as to how to deal with the situation. The employee in question, says that he did some business development work on a contract basis, in which he was told that he would be paid using crypto. Once the job was done, he raised an invoice, and he was paid accordingly. © iStock Meanwhile, since he was paid, the value of this particular crypto (might be BitCoin or Ethereum) stands at 700 per cent of the amount that he was paid. © iStock Seeing this, the CEO sent him an email, asking him to send back those bitcoins, and regenerate an invoice, only this time, he would be paid in American dollars. That’s not all, though. The CEO also stated that since the employee’s work did not generate revenue, nor did he perform any “complimentary follow-ups” he shouldn’t actually get paid at all and that the employee was lucky as the CEO was generous in paying him something for his “efforts.” © iStock If there ever was a classic Karen move, this was one of them, for sure. Luckily, one of the financial experts came to the rescue, posting this on Twitter, and roasting the CEO. He said that the CEO could be opening himself to a lawsuit, adding, "If the value of the cryptocurrency had fallen by 100% to zero since August 2020, would he want to pay you in dollars? A reader also chimed in saying "If the value decreased, would they be paying you the difference? My guess is - NO!" Another added, "It is an unconditional payment for a job done! Nobody can ask for it back.” "This is not the kind of employer you want to be working for," said another user. © iStock What do you guys make of it? Also, do you think it is a wise idea to pay employees using cryptocurrencies, or such incidents will only come up far too often? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  9. Joe Root is considered to be one of the most deadly and technically sound batsmen in the longest format of the game there is in today’s era of international cricket. As a red-ball skipper for the England side, he has a sense of responsibility towards his country, his team and the millions of fans from all over the world. Such expectations that come with the job often restrict the person from casual banter or having fun with his teammates and friends on the field and may lead to the formation of a serious personality around the athlete. View this post on Instagram However, in a video recently shared by the official Twitter handle of England’s Barmy Army (the supporters of the English cricket team), Root can be seen doing something many would have never imagined him do - depants someone! In the hilarious footage, the batsman could be seen crouching up behind veteran pacer Stuart Broad, and pulling his pants down in one go. Quickly realising what was happening to him, Broad managed to protect his “reputation” but not before the entire episode was caught on camera. #TBT to @root66 pulling a fast one on @StuartBroad8 🤣 @englandcricket pic.twitter.com/UCHGne521i — England's Barmy Army (@TheBarmyArmy) May 6, 2021 Pulling his pants up again, Broad began to chase his captain all over the ground but to the surprise of many, was unable to catch him, despite being one of the fastest cricketers in the team as of now. Root will next be seen in action during the two-match Test series between England and New Zealand scheduled to start from June 2, 2021, with the first clash at the Lords’ cricket ground, followed by the second one at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. Virat Kohli and the Men in Blue will be touring England for a five-match Test series in August and September later in the year. View the full article

In this video, the actor mentioned that Vineet Kumar and Irrfan Khan were being considered for the role as well. However, Ram Gopal Varma has now come forward to clarify that Irrfan wasn't a part of the race. © Twitter/Ram Gopal Varma The filmmaker took to his Twitter handle and unveiled that Irrfan never registered or auditioned for the movie. He wrote "Just to set the record straight I was meeting quite a few actors at that time and Manoj caught my eye because of Bandit Queen. I never registered Irrfan and I consciously remembered seeing him only much later when he came to the set of some other shoot.’ In an interview with YouTube channel Lallantop, back in 2018, Manoj said in the video "We were being considered for Paresh Rawal's right-hand role in the movie Daud. Kannan Iyer, who made Ek Thi Daayan, was assisting Shekhar Kapur in Bandit Queen. He was writing Daud movie for Ram Gopal Varma. 11. People find love in the most unimaginable places and that’s exactly what happened with this girl from Lucknow. Nupur Gupta and a boy from the Netherlands, Attila Bosnyak, met in Goa and fell in love. According to CNN Travel, the couple met in Goa in February 2019. Nupur was in Goa for a two-week period to teach Yoga. One day, in between her yoga practice she went for a swim in the ocean and didn’t know that the tide was too strong for swimming. © Instagram/Attilla She swam further away than usual and was caught amidst the strong waves and also felt that she was getting pulled into the ocean. She then tried to swim away but couldn’t reach the shore and was soon gasping for air. Then she saw a man coming towards her. It was Attila who tried to swim to her and grabbed her hand. He tried to pull her out of the ocean but wasn’t able to do that alone. © Instagram/Attila He then waved to the lifeguard and he swam along with Nupur and brought her to the shore. When the two reached the beach, Nupur saw that Attila was bleeding from his back, thighs, and fingers. She said, “My heart sank when I saw that because it just made me realize that what this man just did to help someone, to help me.” Since then they both started meeting and kept on seeing each other for the time they were in Goa. They later also kept connected on WhatsApp and video calls and later decided to meet again. © Instagram/Attila Then Attila arrived at the Delhi airport to meet Nupur and they traveled together to Lucknow, stopping at Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. And in Agra, in front of Taj Mahal, Attila went down on one knee and proposed – not for marriage, but to be in a committed relationship and make it work. Nupur agreed. Later, both got married to each other in March 2020 in a small wedding in the Netherlands. © Instagram/Atilla What do you think of this love story? Let us know in the comments section below! 12. Yesterday it was announced that 5G trials in India have commenced, however the Government did not grant permissions to Chinese companies for the same. Beijing has now expressed deep concerns over the move and said that it would not be "conducive to the innovation and development of related Indian industries." © Unsplash The Indian Department of Telecommunications granted approvals to a dozen companies to conduct six-month trials for 5G technology. Companies like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and MTNL were given permission to test equipment made by companies such as Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT. Notably, Chinese telecommunications giants Huawei and ZTE who have been operating in India’s telecom sector for years were not part of the picture. In reaction to the move, Wang Xiaojian, spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, said in a statement that showed, “concern and regret that Chinese telecommunications companies have not been permitted to conduct 5G trials with Indian Telecom Service Providers in India.” “Relevant Chinese companies have been operating in India for years, providing mass job opportunities and making a contribution to India’s infrastructure construction in telecommunications,” Xiaojian said. “To exclude Chinese telecommunications companies from the trials will not only harm their legitimate rights and interests but also hinder the improvement of the Indian business environment, which is not conducive to the innovation and development of related Indian industries”. © Unsplash This is not the first time a country has left out Chinese players in the expansion of 5G networks. The US and UK have previously banned companies from using equipment from the two Chinese giants and many in India are demanding the same. Xiaojian said that China hopes that “India could do more to enhance mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries, and provide an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory investment and business environment for market entities from all countries, including China, to operate and invest in India”. 13. With the rising cases of COVID in India, people have become more vulnerable and helpless as the country’s health care infrastructure and the medical system seems to have completely collapsed at the moment. Many celebs have been infected with the virus and the latest star to contract it is Deepika Padukone. Padukone's family members including her mother Ujjala, father Prakash Padukone, and sister Anisha have also tested positive for the Coronavirus. Popular Indian paparazzi Viral Bhayani, took to Instagram to share that the actor has also been tested positive. View this post on InstagramHowever, in a bizarre turn of events, people were quick to pass their judgments and mocked her because she is 'privileged'. They went on to say that she will be treated properly as she has the money for it and it’s only the less privileged ones who are not getting proper treatment. One of the users even slammed her for not helping people who are in need. © Viral Bhayani Instagram © Viral Bhayani Instagram © Viral Bhayani Instagram Is it fair to mock her this way? Meanwhile, Prakash Padukone's close friend Vimal Kumar spoke to PTI and said, "Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive." He also added, "They got themselves isolated but after a week Prakash's fever didn't come down, so last Saturday, he was admitted to a hospital here in Bengaluru. He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days." Speaking about Deepika Padukone’s professional front, she will be next seen in 83 that explores the story behind the Indian Cricket Team's historic 1983 World Cup victory. View the full article
