  1. Apple's AirPods have been a huge success even after having a hefty price tag. The wireless earbuds are extremely easy to use and can be exclusively used with Apple products only. Continuing the tradition of keeping a closed eco-system, the AirPods are compatible with iPhones only. No other brand has managed to even come close to the AirPods output and sales, the success even prompted Google and Samsung to come up with a pair of their own. Apple did remove the headphone jack but made sure users have a better alternative, that's obviously after ignoring the price. © Xiaomi via MySmartPrice Now, Xiaomi has launched the AirDots Pro. It comes with designs nearly identical to the AirPods, including a Bluetooth-friendly carrying case that doubles as a charger to keep the AirDots charged. Like Apple's earphones, AirDots offer touch controls for music, calls and activating voice assistants -- and they work with both iOS and Android. Xiaomi actually released its original AirDots last year–but they looked nothing like Apple's AirPods. With its new AirDots Pro, that's all changed, however. Xiaomi is expected to host a press event on Jan. 11. The company will likely unveil the AirDots Pro there and provide details on availability. © Xiaomi via MySmartPrice The earbuds are being marketed with multiple names like the AirDots Pro, Freedom Buds Pro, as well as Mi Air. It is possible the product could have a different name depending on the market. They can function independently of each other, and can reportedly run for up to 10 hours on a single charge. According to MySmartPrice, "The Mi Air Bluetooth earbuds utilize a 7mm neodymium driver with a titanium sound chamber for impressive audio quality. Xiaomi's latest earbuds also support the AAC codec and come with ENC noise reduction technology to suppress environmental noise." The earbuds are lightweight at only 5.8 grams and support IPX4 water resistance. It comes with a USB Type-C charger and boasts support for AAC codec. They have Active Noise Cancellation for improved sound and call quality. While the AirPods cost Rs 12,900 in India, the Xiaomi AirDots Pro are priced at CNY 399, that is approximately Rs 4,000. The company has launched them only in China right now, and there's no word on a local launch.
