  1. Apple has been long rumoured to be launching a new affordable pair of AirPods this year and according to Jon Prosser, the YouTuber who accurately predicted the launch date of the iPhone SE claims that the cheaper AirPods are ready to launch. According to Prosser, Apple is planning to announce the new AirPods alongside new products next month which were scheduled to be announced in late March 2020 but got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. New AirPods (which were supposed to be at the March Event) are now ready to go. Probably alongside the MacBook Pro next month. â Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) April 19, 2020 The new AirPods are expected to have a similar design as the AirPods Pro, but will lack certain features like noise cancellation. A refresh to the design of the classic AirPods is long overdue and this could be the iteration Apple has been planning for a while. The new AirPods may also not come with a wireless charging case in order to curb costs and price of the upcoming accessory. © MENSXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple is also expected to announce other products such as a new MacBook Pro, wireless charging pads and AirTags. Of course, we advise you take this information with a grain of salt as plans of releasing new products may have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we could face delays that werenât expected before. Apple is also expected to announce new over-ear headphones at Appleâs virtual WWDC conference later this year. View the full article
  2. 2019 has been a kickass year for Realme. The company launched a ton of phones this year, along with some really good pair of earphones. Their Realme Buds Wireless, the ones that are tuned by DJ Alan Walker are one of our favourite pairs of earbuds to come out this year. Now, Realme is looking to wrap up the year on a strong note with the launch of a pair of truly wireless earbuds. Called Realme Buds Air, the new pair of earbuds look a lot like Apple's AirPods. Although Realme will be launching them in three different colours, so that's great. © Realme There's still a lot that we don't know about the Realme Buds Wireless, but we do know enough to be super excited to try them out. Realme says the Realme Buds Wireless will support instant pairing via Bluetooth 5.0 and will automatically connect to your device as soon as you open the charging case. Yes, it exactly how Apple's AirPods work. Besides that, Realme has also confirmed that the earbuds will house a 12mm driver and comes with touch controls for music and call management. Looks like you'll also be able to activate the Google Assistant with just a single touch. That's also pretty neat and very convenient. © Realme As for the pricing, well, Realme has confirmed the pricing, but a premature Flipkart listing of the buds may have revealed the price. Now, we're not sure if this will be actual pricing. For all we know, it could just be a placeholder for the product reveal. The Flipkart listing, which has now been removed from the website at the time of filing this story, revealed the price tag of Rs 4,999. Yes, that's quite a bit more than what the company launched the Realme Buds Wireless for. That being said, it's worth making a note that these earbuds are a lot more sophisticated. And besides that, the Realme Buds Air still cost a lot less than the Apple AirPods. We don't know how good the Realme Buds Air are since we haven't gotten our hands on one of them yet, but we can't wait to try it, so keep your eyes peeled for more info. View the full article
  3. Apple's AirPods Pro is the company's biggest upgrade in the wireless earbud portfolio ever since the regular AirPods were launched alongside the iPhone 7. The AirPods Pro comes with one important and necessary feature: active noise cancellation (ANC). While most earbuds face the issue of blocking out ambient noise around you, only a handful of wireless earbuds can achieve ANC and AirPods Pro are the only ones available to buy in India right now. We reviewed the AirPods Pro with a brief background on how the feature works but there are different ways to turn on or control the feature. The AirPods Pro uses a set of two microphones to block ambient sound. This comes handy when you are around noisy people, on an aeroplane or at taking the metro to work. The feature works the moment you plug your AirPods Pro in your ears, however you do much more. Here are the different ways you can control the ANC feature on the AirPods Pro and make the experience even better. But before we get started, you must do the ear tips test from the Bluetooth settings to find the best ear tip fit and seal for your ear canal. The process doesn't take too long and it uses a short snippet of music to determine the right seal for you. After you've done that, you're ready to start using the AirPods Pro and these are some ways you can control the feature: Use The Force Touch Sensor © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Using the sensor on the stem of the AirPods Pro is the most convenient way to fire up the Noise Cancellation feature. There's a slight grooved flat surface which you can hold to cycle through the three different modes i.e. noise cancellation, transparency mode and off. If you hear a chime when holding the stem, it means the Noise Cancellation mode has been turned off. You can do it on either of the stems. However, if you wish to customise one of them you can do so in the Bluetooth Settings by tapping “i” next to the listing for your AirPods Pro. Use Siri The other convenient way to turn on noise cancellation is by simply asking Siri. Since the AirPods Pro come with the H1 Chip, you can simply call for Siri to switch on or off the mode. You can say, “Hey Siri, turn on/off noise cancellation" or "Hey Siri, turn on/off transparency” to use the feature. Using Control Center © Apple The third best way to control the noise cancellation settings is using the Control Centre on your iPhone. After opening the Control Center, look for the AirPods Pro icon and tap to get into the settings, At the bottom, you can toggle between the three modes according to your liking. The Long Method © Apple This is by far the longest and most inconvenient method to toggle between the three different settings. You need to go into the Bluetooth Settings and then tap on “i” next to the listing for your AirPods Pro. There will be a “Noise Control” menu where you can choose one of the three modes you want to pick. This is not the most convenient way to do it, but it is one of the methods to use. 4. Apple has revolutionised wireless audio ever since the company removed the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and instead started offering AirPods. The most common issue with wireless Bluetooth earphones is that they are unreliable and pairing can be a tedious process. Apple made it easier for iPhone, iPad and MacBook users as we can connect AirPods seamlessly with Apple products. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla However, it was launched in December 2016 and needed a much-required redesign for users who wanted more from their wireless audio devices. Apple recently launched the AirPods Pro that comes with active noise cancellation (ANC); a feature that has been a staple on headphones but only a handful offer them on earbuds. Even though Apple introduced a newer version of the classic AirPods, the new AirPods Pro is the real upgrade everyone has been wanting. I've been using the AirPods Pro in various scenarios to test its sound quality and noise cancellation abilities. Here's what we think about the new AirPods Pro and why I can't go anywhere without them for a single day. Design The biggest difference one will notice is the major difference in design when compared to the AirPods. It now comes with a silicon tip that makes the fit in the ear canal much more tighter and gives a better seal than the regular AirPods. The overall shape of the earbud is now more oval than before and the stem is now shorter as well. The stem of the earbuds now also comes with a sensor that is also flat and can be used to control playback, switch between ANC, transparency and ANC off modes. The new AirPods Pro's design is a bit more subtle than the regular AirPods but is still quite distinctive. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla For people who didn't know, the regular AirPods aren't meant for use while working out, will love the fact that the AirPods Pro is sweat and water-resistant and make a great gym accessory. It comes with an IPX4 rating which means you can use them without worrying about damaging them in the gym. The AirPods Pro are also perfect for runners who want the better sound quality and want a tighter seal so that it doesn't fall off while running. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The AirPods Pro also come with a different charging case; i.e. larger, wider and shorter than the AirPods' charging case. Like the newer version of the AirPods, the Pro variant also supports wireless charging. The case itself may be bigger than the original AirPods, it is still small enough to fit in your pocket. I personally own the new Sony WF-1000XM3 and in comparison, it is much smaller in size. When comparing the two earbuds sizes, the AirPods Pro are less bulkier than its Sony counterpart. How It Works Like the AirPods, the Pro variant also connects and pairs with your phone as soon as you open the lid of the charging case. As soon as you are paired and connected, you can find additional features in the Bluetooth settings of the iPhone. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The AirPods Pro comes with three different silicone tip sizes and in order to find the right size for your ear canal, you need to do an ear tip test. The AirPods Pro has two microphones to adjust the ANC level for the earbuds. It uses the one microphone on the outside to detect ambient noise and the other microphone detects any other remaining noise to calibrate the optimum noise cancellation level using the on-board software. This way, the AirPods Pro can always monitor your environment and adapt the noise-cancellation level. Apple says that the AirPods pro scans and adapts the ANC level 200 times per second. The AirPods Pro also comes with the H1 Chip that uses 10 audio cores to make the adjustment in real time. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Using these techniques, the ear tip test scans and tells you if your seal is good enough to use ANC on the AirPods Pro. If the seal isn't good enough, the test will ask you to adjust the earbuds or change the tip altogether. The test is carried out by playing a small portion of Tycho's “Awake" track. However, what we would have liked to see is a prompt of this test as soon as you connect the AirPods Pro to your iPhone for the first time. If you don't know what you are doing, you may completely miss the ear-fit test if you don't go digging into the Bluetooth settings. Performance and Sound Quality © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla I used the AirPods Pro in various scenarios to test the noise-cancellation ability. I tested them in our office where it can get very loud especially during heated debates. I tested the AirPods Pro in one of the busiest markets in Delhi, India surrounded by traffic, street vendors and loud music blasting from speakers in stores. I even tested the AirPods Pro at a busy Delhi Metro station to test out the noise cancellation features. In all scenarios, we can confidently say that the AirPods Pro can block out most of the sound in each of these scenarios. The AirPods Pro cannot block everything and I think that is by design so that you have at least some sense of your surroundings. Having the ANC work like advertised and also helped us in keeping the volume lower. This is, in turn, reduces the risk of ear damage in the long run and you can still enjoy your music by blocking out nearby noise. What we found impressive about the ANC feature was that it was also effective for Podcasts. While music can generally block out a lot of sounds, when listening to the spoken word, the AirPods Pro did a really good job in blocking out the ambient noise as well. You can still hear some ambient noise, but we were quite surprised to see them perform well even when hearing radio shows. I mentioned earlier, one of the modes that can be controlled by the Force sensor on the AirPods Pro is the Transparency Mode. This mode basically lets you switch off the ANC mode and let the ambient noise come through the earbuds. It is a very handy feature to have if you want to talk to someone face-to-face or just want to get a sense of your surroundings. I would recommend people to use this feature when running on the street so that you are aware of oncoming traffic. This mode can be activated by simply holding the force sensor on the stem to switch between the different modes. When it comes to sound quality, you will instantly notice the difference from the regular AirPods the moment you hear the first track. The vocals sound punchier while the sound stage makes you feel closer to the music than ever before. The AirPods Pro mid-range frequency is probably the star here as the lower frequencies (bass) also sound a lot clearer and more impactful. This is partly because Apple employs Adaptive EQ which tunes these frequencies according to your ear. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla While sound quality preference can be subjective, the AirPod Pro probably offer the most balanced sound you can get from wireless earbuds. The kick drums on any Hip-Hop track sound much more defined and you can even visualise it if you've ever seen a music producer's arrangement window or a mastering mixer. For electronica, the synths, panning automation and different filter effects feel very much lively. To test the AirPods Pro, I listened to Synkro's “Images” and “Realize” tracks that have all the elements an electronica track needs. The soundscape is way more layered when listening to a proper mastered track. Most new-age Hip-Hop tracks are shabbily mastered due to which the sound experience can differ on differ headphones. However, Synkro is known for making tracks that are generally better mastered and have enough room in the layers for you to notice every instrument and effects. After listening to the two Synkro tracks, I can confidently say that the AirPods Pro is the current king of mid- and low-range frequencies in the wireless earbud segment. The last thing we need to mention is the average battery life on the AirPods Pro. With ANC turned on, you can expect it to last around 4 to 4.5 hours, however, when turned off it can last up to 5 hours. When using the AirPods Pro for making calls, you can expect the battery to dip down to 3.5 hours. With a fully charged case, you can use the AirPods Pro for up to 24 hours in total listening time. The Final Say If you are looking for wireless earbuds that can block out outside noise, deliver great sound quality and aren't very bulky, the AirPods Pro is the best ANC device you can get right now. It may not be perfect but it sure comes close. If you are an iPhone user, this is a must-have accessory that will probably come in handy more than you can imagine. After using the AirPods Pro, I can confidently say I cannot go a day without using these wireless earbuds no matter where I am. View the full article
  5. Apple recently announced the AirPods Pro that comes with new features and capabilities which were not available on the original AirPods before. While the AirPods are still available to buy, the Pro version comes with unique features that are exclusive to them. Today, Apple has made the AirPods Pro officially available in India for Rs 24,900. © Apple Currently, the AirPods Pro are available via Apple Authorised Resellers across the country. It comes with noise-cancellation features that use special microphones which can detect external sound and cancel the noise appropriately. Apple says that the noise cancellation can be adjusted to 200 times per second. This new mode is called transparency mode and requires Apple devices running iOS 13.2 or later, iPadOS 13.2 or later, watchOS 6.1 or later, tvOS 13.2 or later, or macOS Catalina 10.15.1 or later. The ambient noise can be cancelled out by using the transparency mode which in turn is activated by “force sensor.” This sensor can be used to control music playback, fire up Siri and a host of other features that will be detailed in our review later this week. The AirPods Pro also come with “Adaptive EQ” that “automatically tunes music to the shape of your ear.” © Apple The AirPods Pro offers three different sizes of soft, flexible silicone ear tips that provide a better seal to cancel ambient noise. Unlike the AirPods, the Pro model is sweat and water-resistant which comes in handy for gym enthusiasts. If you want to know more about the features on AirPods Pro, you can read about it here. 6. Apple announced the latest addition to its existing Airpods family and boy, they look gorgeous. The latest Airpods will cost you around Rs 25,000 in India and also come with the much-awaited noise cancellation feature as well. While they might be steeply priced for some, a lot of fans are already excited to buy it. 7. Apple surprised everyone by dropping a new version of AirPods called the AirPods Pro. The new AirPods Pro, as you can see, looks quite a bit different from the older ones. The new ones are a little bit smaller, they now have silicone ear tips to keep them in place, unlike the old ones which won't stay inside most people's ears. The new AirPods Pro is also quite expensive when you compare them with the older ones. In India, the new AirPods Pro will be available for a whopping Rs 24,900. Whether or not they're worth it is a question that we'll only be able to answer once we test them. But for now, we're here to tell you about all the new features of the AirPods Pro. © Apple Note: This isn't a review of the AirPods Pro. We're just comparing its feature with the second generation AirPods to tell you what's new. Physical Differences The first thing you'll notice about the new AirPods Pro is the physical difference. The charging case itself is short and squat, which makes it immediately noticeable. Well, that's because the stem of the AirPods Pro itself is short. That's how people will know if you're wearing the old AirPods or the new AirPods Pro. It's also worth pointing out that the case is slightly heavier, but you probably won't notice it all that much. © Apple The shape of the buds is also different and Apple has now included silicone tips that can be switched between three different sizes for proper fit. This is a welcome move because a lot of people had trouble keeping the original AirPods in place. Also, the ear tips will also provide the required seal for Active noise cancellation. Besides the ones we mentioned above, there's hardly anything that's different from the outside. They'll still play/ pause media as you put them on and off, you still have to throw them inside the case to charge them, and they probably sound the same, which is great. Main Differences © Apple Besides the physical differences that are mentioned above, the biggest change this time around is the Active Noise Cancellation. The new AirPods Pro can detect external sound to determine the environmental noise and create an equivalent noise to cancel it out before it reaches your ear. So the new AirPods Pro includes an additional microphone that faces inward and cancels out any remaining noise. Additionally, the AirPods Pro also offers something called "Transparency Mode" with which users can hear the environment while still listening to music. The AirPods Pro has a new 'Force sensor' which is used to switch between the full ANC and Transparency mode. © Apple Apple has also introduced Adaptive EQ which promises to make music better for its users. It'll automatically tune the low and mid-range frequencies of the music to the shape of the ears. The Adaptive EQ, combined with a custom high dynamic range amplifier and a high-excursion, low distortion speaker driver, makes us believe the AirPods Pro will offer superior audio quality. The older AirPods don't have any of these features. Battery Life As is the case with any other Apple products, we don't exactly know how big or small the AirPods Pro batteries are. But Apple says that the AirPods Pro will last you for 5 hours on a single charge, which is similar to the older AirPods. However, with ANC, you'll be looking at 4.5 hours instead of 5. With charging cases, Apple says both models offer "more than 24 hours of listening time" in total and "up to 18 hours of talk time". For AirPods Pro, Apple says 5 minutes of charging will result in around an hour of listening time, but that's similar to the older AirPods since Apple used to say they'll last for around 3 hours with just 15 minutes of charging. © Apple Sweat Proof This time around, Apple is boldly claiming that the new AirPods Pro offers a level of sweat and water resistance with an IPX4 rating. There was no such mention of a rating with the regular AirPods. The silicone tips are probably helping here to seal the openings and making it more suitable for activities like running. A Worthy Upgrade? Well, this isn't our full review of the AirPods Pro, so we'll save our verdict for later. But the ANC was the only missing feature in the regular AirPods and we're glad Apple has added it. The other features like the Transparency mode and Adaptive EQ are also there in addition to the existing ones like wireless charging support, Siri support and more. In India, the AirPods Pro will be available from tomorrow for Rs 24,900. You'll be able to pick one up online from popular e-commerce platforms or from the authorized Apple resellers. 8. The next set of AirPods have been long rumoured to launch and some sources speculate that it may launch sooner than expected. We've seen some leaked images before, but those images looked like they were shot using a potato. A new leak has finally surfaced that shows us a clearer picture of the charging case and what it will store inside. © Slashleaks Previous rumours have suggested that the new AirPods will have noise cancellation feature and will be called AirPods Pro. The new leak from Slashleaks shows the charging case that will come with the AirPods Pro. It is larger and wider than what you get with the AirPods that are currently on sale. The charging case is larger than before, probably because the new design of the AirPods Pro will require the additional space. The AirPods Pro case is also probably going to support wireless charging like the new case on the refreshed traditional AirPods. The case also comes with the markings “Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in China” that is also see on iPhones and other Apple products. © Slashleaks The launch of the new AirPods is imminent and some retailers have already started selling protective cases for the charging case. The new AirPods are probably going to be a little bit more expensive than the current generation due to the new noise cancellation feature. Will you be getting the new AirPods? Also, how important is noise cancellation for you and when will you use it the most? Let us know in the comments what you think about the AirPods Pro. Source: Slashleaks
  9. It's no secret that Apple has been rumoured to be working on the next iteration of the AirPods. It was reported earlier that the new AirPods will launch sometime next year. Now, however it seems like it will come sooner than that. The new AirPods are rumoured to be called the AirPods Pro and will have a noise-cancelling feature as reported earlier. © SlashLeaks A new report by China Economic Daily suggests that Apple will be releasing the AirPods Pro later this month. It is expected to cost $260 (~Rs 18,500) and will also have basic water resistance for gym use. Earlier, the design of the upcoming AirPods was leaked and it shows that the overall design language will remain the same with subtle changes. It was also disclosed in the iOS 13.2 beta and the same update also had a tutorial about how users can adjust the noise cancellation on the new AirPods. © Twitter/RieplhuberGD The new AirPods will compete with Amazon's newly announced Echo Buds and the upcoming Pixel Buds. The noise cancellation feature on truly wireless earphones is expected to work similarly to the Sony WF- 1000XM3. It will adapt the sound in the earphones according to your surroundings and will block out ambient noise when needed. Sony uses its own 'Headphones' app to enable the feature and it will be interesting to see how Apple will implement its version of noise cancellation on the AirPods Pro. Of course, there is no certainty whether the earphones will launch later this month even though there are have been rumours of Apple hosting an event in October. Having said that, we are now approaching the end of the month and it looks highly unlikely. Source: China Economic Daily
  10. The most commonly requested feature by Apple users, is the ability to share music with their friends. In fact, since Apple removed the headphone jack, it has become harder to listen to music along with your friends. Wired earphones let users share music with each other by sharing each earbud. However, sharing AirPods or any wireless Bluetooth device is a big pain but it seems like Apple has already found a fix. © Apple Currently, iPhone and iPad support multiform audio via AirPlay 2 and it works on speakers that support the feature. I use the multi-room system on my Sonos setup using Apple's AirPlay feature. However, a new report by Macotakara spotted by 9to5Mac says that Apple will be adding dual Bluetooth audio support for the iPhone 11 or whatever it will be called. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Dual Bluetooth output has been a long requested feature which essentially means that two people can listen to the same audio content from one iPhone. For example, if you and your friend both have AirPods, you will be able to listen to the same music simultaneously from an iPhone on your own set of AirPods. Currently, the iPhone only supports connecting one audio device at a time which makes it harder to share Bluetooth devices to listen to music at the same time. © Apple The iPhone, however, does support multiple Bluetooth connections already as the iPhone can communicate with the Apple Watch and transmit music to the AirPods simultaneously. Dual Bluetooth audio output is not a new concept as some Android devices already support this feature and it would be great to see this on the iPhone as well. Having said that, using dual Bluetooth audio output has its own drawbacks as it often leads to unstable connections and synchronisation. It would be interesting to see how Apple would tackle this issue. There's a good chance that Apple may refresh its W1 chip for this feature to work. Of course, this is a rumoured feature that we may or may not see on the next iPhone and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Having said that, the AirPods are one of Apple's most successful products since the iPhone and are more of a social phenomenon today. It would be logical for the Cupertino giant to make this feature available on the iPhone for AirPods users to enjoy music together. Source: Macotakara
  11. 1More is one of the pioneers when it comes to audio equipment, and they've made some stunning pairs of headphones and earphones over the years. Now, the company has launched its first pair of truly wireless earbuds called 1More 'Stylish True Wireless Earbuds'. These new pair of earbuds have a sleek water-drop design, and they come in four different colours. Much like their other headphones, even the Stylish True Wireless Earbuds are tuned by Grammy-award winning sound engineer, Luca Bignardi. So, you can expect the audio quality to be on par with other 1More earphones, if not better. © 1More The 1More Stylish True Wireless Earbuds comes with a charging case, just like every other truly wireless earbuds on the market. This particular charging case can also keep your earbuds charged, thanks to the built-in 410 mAh battery. According to 1More, the earbuds can last for up to 6 hours on a single charge, which is not bad at all. As for the earbuds themselves, they're packed with a 7mm dynamic driver with a titanium composite diaphragm that balances powerful bass with exquisite detail. The result is crisp audio in an ultra-compact form factor. Additionally, the earbuds also cancel out environmental noise, which is always a good thing. The 1More Stylish True Wireless Earbuds supports Bluetooth v 5.0 technology featuring aptX and AAC transmission compatible with Android and iOS. © 1More The new 1More True Wireless Earbuds are priced at Rs. 5,499 in India and you can pre-order them from 1More's official website or from a bunch of other online stores starting next month. On the other hand, if you're not particularly looking for a pair of truly wireless earbuds, then be sure to check out 1More's other offerings such as the 1More Quad Driver Earphones or the 1More Stylish Dual Dynamic Driver BT.
  12. Apple has already launched an updated version of AirPods, however, new reports suggest that another version is all set to launch later this year. The report also suggests some upgrades that have been expected for a while. © MensXP The next-generation of AirPods are said to have active noise cancellation and may launch before the end of this year. The minor update on the new AirPods comes with a new H1 Chip that lets users launch Siri by simply saying 'Hey Siri'. We can be sure that the next-gen AirPods are expected to come with a similar chip. According to the report by Digitimes, sources in supply chain say that the new AirPods will offer a better audio experience for customers who don't mind paying a premium. The new AirPods are not said to replace the current generation of wireless earbuds but may just be another offering in Apple's audio portfolio. © Unsplash If the rumours are true, the new noise-cancelling AirPods will be more expensive than the current models. Active Noise Cancellation feature generally adds to the cost and rivals like the Sony WF-1000X is also priced higher. This is not the first time we've heard about noise-cancelling AirPods as rumours have been floating around for a while. Previous rumours have suggested that the new AirPods will come with heart rate and body temperature tracking along with other health tracking features. Other rumours suggest that the new AirPods will also come in a black variant which we really want to come true. Needless to say, these rumours cannot be verified until the new AirPods are officially launched by Apple. Having said that, the rumours about noise-cancelling AirPods have been consistent with previous reports. Source: Digitime
  13. Apple's AirPods have become a cultural phenomenon and has become an icon when it comes to audio gear. It may not be the best earphones on the planet but it's surely the most convenient. AirPods 2, with a wireless charging case, is set to launch in India soon and many of you would want to use them with your Android smartphone. In fact, there is a way to use some of the AirPods features that are available natively if you use the earbuds with an Apple device. AirPods 2 offers some new features and familiar tech which has not been easy to replicate. You can read our full review here if you want to know more. How To Pair AirPods With An Android Phone © MensXP Pairing AirPods with an Android smartphone is fairly simple as it works similar to other Bluetooth earphones. At the back of the case of the AirPods, you need to long press the small button to make it discoverable. Once you can see the AirPods in your phone's Bluetooth settings, select and pair with the AirPods. It's easy and does not have any issues while connecting. How Can I Use Airpods 2 Features © Akshay Bhalla_MensXP The AirPods have neat features such as double tapping the earbud to skip songs and play/pause music with a single tap. You will be happy to know that this feature works with Android smartphones as well and works just like it does on the iPhone. Check Battery Life & Setup Google Assistant The AirPods 2 natively gives you battery levels when connected with the iPhone when you start using them or via the batteries widget. You can even use Siri without any additional setup on the iPhone. Having said that, making these features work on an Android smartphone is a bit more complicated. You will need to download third-party apps to take advantage of these features on an Android smartphone. © Google Play You can download AirBattery via the Google Play Store as it lets you interact with AirPods and see battery levels of each earbud and the charging case. You can alternatively use AssistantTrigger which essentially lets you do the same thing but also lets you set up Google Assistant functionality. You can fire up Google Assistant by double tapping on the earbud thanks to AssistantTrigger.
  14. AirPods is now more of a cultural phenomenon than any other product from Apple's portfolio. It was Apple's solution for removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and since then, it has taken the world with storm. Apple has now offered a new version of the AirPods that offers a lot of features which it already did along with a few incremental upgrades. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The new AirPods offer more talk time and have a new H1 Chip that enables quicker Siri access. It comes with a wireless charging case that can be charged using any Qi-wireless charger. The new updates may not be enough of a reason to upgrade if you already own AirPods, but the new iteration still holds the throne of wireless earbuds. Setting It Up Is Easy And Flawless © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The one feature I love the most on the AirPods is the easy setup process that nobody has been able to match up to so far. Each time you open the case, the AirPods automatically connect to your iPhone. Being an integral part of Apple's ecosystem, the AirPods also automatically pair with other Apple devices, thanks to iCloud. You can easily switch between devices without the need of setting it up for each said device. It works with the iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and even Android smartphones (without the support of easy setup). When pairing the AirPods with other Apple devices, you don't need to press a button or wait for it to be discovered. It just connects and works. So, What's The Difference? © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Visually, not much has changed on the new AirPods apart from the new wireless charging case. It now has an LED light on the front instead of inside the case. The case can be charged via a lightning cable or wirelessly using a Qi charging pad. The case has the same amount of battery reserve as the previous case i.e. it offers up to 24 hours of total battery life. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Like before, if you take one of the earbuds, the auto-pause feature kicks in, however, it only works with Apple devices. As for usability, the new AirPods offer the same controls as the previous generation where you can assign actions like double tap to skip a track on any of the earbuds. You can play/pause with a single tap and also fire up Siri by saying “Hey Siri.” Instead of giving volume controls on the AirPods, you can now ask Siri to turn down/up the volume. You simply have to say “Hey Siri, turn it down” and Siri will do the rest for you. We prefer this feature over manual controls as it prevents accidental touches which in turn would either pause the music or skip the track. What Does The H1 Chip Do? © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Apple H1 chip is one of the upgrades on the new AirPods that enable users to bring up Siri. The new chip can do a lot more such as extend the call time by 50 per cent. The chip also enables lower gaming lag and offers a faster connection for phone calls. The chip also improves call quality, especially in windy conditions. The H1 chip is capable of eliminated distortion caused by winds which makes your voice clearer. We tried this feature on a few phone calls sitting right under a speedy fan and no one heard any breeze on the other end of the call. Sound Quality © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Even though Apple says that there is no difference in sound quality, we felt that the sound on the new AirPods was much crisper. Maybe our previous AirPods began to age and we noticed the stark difference in sound quality, however, it's still among the best hearing wireless earbuds. Of course, there is some sound leakage simply because of the design of the earbuds. We would have preferred a better fit on the new AirPods which in turn would also prevent sound leakage. In terms of sound, the new AirPods have warmer undertones with a slight emphasis on bass. AirPods are best used for listening to track with vocals as the midrange and treble are clean and balanced. The overall sound does lack definition, however, that's due to the sound leakage we mentioned before. The overall sound may not please audiophiles, but the AirPods 2 is a matter of convenience over performance. For better sounding earbuds, we would recommend you something from Senheisser but it lacks all the bells and whistles such as good battery life, ease of connectivity and accessibility. The Final Say If you're already deeply embedded in the Apple Ecosystem, the new AirPods are your best bet at convenient audio. It offers old and new tech for Rs 18,900 and will be available to buy in India soon. The new AirPods, in our opinion, is still the king of wireless earbuds as it offers balanced features such as good battery life, respectable performance and decent sound. The competition may be getting harder but it's still hard to beat the AirPod's convenience and accessibility. The Galaxy Buds are a strong contender for the new AirPods and we will compare them soon to let you know which one is better.
  15. Shah Rukh Khan is surely one of the most tech-savvy stars in Bollywood, and he really loves his gadgets. He has previously expressed his love for mac instead of PCs, and he's also been spotted using Amazon's Kindle. Now, Shah Rukh Khan's current favorite gadget appears to be Apple's newly launched AirPods. Yes, he took it to Instagram and made a post about how the new AirPods are amazing. Khan posted a selfie with AirPods in his ears and wrote, “@apple ups it's game with every new product. Don't use earphones much but these new #Airpods are amazing. Thanks for adding to my collection Apple,” he wrote as he posted a photo of himself with the Airpods. Here, take a look at the picture yourself - View this post on Instagram @apple ups it's game with every new product. Don't use earphones much but these new #Airpods are amazing. Thanks for adding to my collection Apple. A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on Apr 10, 2019 at 8:50am PDT Well, we don't blame our Bollywood superstar for falling in love with the AirPods. The new ones are really good, and they bring a lot of improvement to the table over the older ones. The new AirPods are powered by Apple's new H1 chip, developed specifically for headphones. The company claims that they deliver power-efficient performance, more talk time and hands-free Siri support. And of course, you can also charge the new AirPods wirelessly, provided that you get the new wireless charging case. The new AirPods, in case you are wondering, comes with a starting price of Rs 14,900. You can get your hands on the variant with the wireless charging case for Rs 18,900. © YouTube If AirPods are not your thing, though, then you can also check out Apple's new Powerbeats Pro. They're also supposed to be good, and recently even Lebron James was spotted wearing them.
  16. Earlier this week, the Powerbeats Pro were spotted in an iOS update and has now been made official by Apple. The company's Beats division is now making its mark in the true wireless earphones market and will be available to buy from this May. The Powerbeats Pro is going to be more expensive than the AirPods i.e. $250 (Rs 17,200 Approx) and reportedly offers better sound quality. The Powerbeats Pro is also expected to last longer than before and comes with Apple's new H1 chip that can also be found on the new AirPods. The H1 Chip enables the new AirPods to fire up Siri by simply saying the command “Hey Siri”. The wireless earbuds also offer a more secure and comfortable fit as compared to the AirPods. © Apple Beats This reduces sound leakage which has been the only known issue with AirPods. It works similar to the AirPods with the ability to control volume and tracks with any of the two earbuds. The earbuds also automatically play/pause when they are removed from your ear. © Apple The Powebeats Pro is expected to last for up to nine hours or up to 24 hours of playback time with the charging case. The charging case also has a fast-charging feature that can give the earbuds an additional 1.5 hours of usage after five minutes of charge. As of now, there is no word whether we will get to see the Powerbeats Pro launch in India.
  17. Even though Apple announced an updated version of the AirPods, the company accidentally revealed a brand new true wireless earphone that is expected to launch soon. According to a report by 9to5Mac, the company is expected to launch its second true wireless earphones. Apple mistakenly left animations and images inside the iOS 12.2. update which shows off the new Powerbeats wireless earphones. © 9to5Mac The new earphones will be called 'Powerbeats Pro' and will replace the Powerbeats 3 which has better sound quality than the AirPods. It will have a tight seal which is a major missing feature of the AirPods and also has swappable tips. These tips will add better water and sweat resistance for the earphones and keep them in place. The new AirPods come with Apple's H1 chip which could also be included in the Powerbeats Pro. The new chip enables the new AirPods to have an always-listening feature which simply allows users to activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri” © 9to5Mac The Powerbeats 3 offered 12 hours of battery and we could only guess what the Powerbeats Pro is expected to offer. The pricing of the unexpected wireless earphones is also unknown but could be a bit more expensive than the AirPods. The Powerbeats are also expected to launch in two colours i.e. white and black which should be a saving grace for many users. Black AirPods have been one of the most requested product by Apple Fans, and we may just see it on a different set of wireless earbuds for now. We can only be sure of the price and battery life once Apple announces the Powerbeats Pro officially. Source: 9to5Mac
  18. Apple announced the second generation of the very popular AirPods that was first launched in 2016. The new AirPods has a new H1 chip that has been developed exclusively for earphones and promises faster connect time, longer talk time and can now also launch Siri with a simple “Hey Siri” prompt. The new AirPods also comes with a Wireless Charging Case that will be available to order through Apple Authorised Resellers later this spring. It can also be bought separately for older AirPods. (c) Apple “AirPods delivered a magical wireless experience and have become one of the most beloved products we've ever made. They are powered by the new Apple-designed H1 chip which brings an extra hour of talk time, faster connections, hands-free 'Hey Siri' and the convenience of a new wireless battery case.” The new H1 chip is the star of the new AirPods that can basically let the AirPods switch between an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch seamlessly and twice as fast. It can also deliver 50 per cent more talk time compared to the previous generation. (c) Apple The charging case can hold an additional 24 hours of charge and the wireless charging case is compatible with any Qi-wireless charger. It has an LED light at the front of the case that basically shows the status of the battery charge. 19. There has been a lot of hype surrounding Apple's second-generation AirPods as they're expected to be significantly better than the original AirPods that debuted back in 2016. The new ones are said to have improved sound, always-on Siri support, and wireless charging, among other features. © YouTube/Airpods Yes, there's quite a lot of buzz around the wireless charging support, but a new leak suggests that the new AirPods could also support rapid charging which will allow you fully charge them in just 15 minutes. A tweet sent out by XDA member Max Weinbach claims that the battery level of AirPods 2, both the carrying case and the AirPods themselves, can go from 0-per cent to 100-per cent in just 15 minutes. It's way better than the current generation AirPods, which take hours to get charged. © Reuters The charging case is said to use Qi charging, although that can't be confirmed just yet. In his tweet, Max also noted that the case will be both bigger and heavier than the current one. As is the case with any other leak, there's no way to confirm this, so we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt. Apple's first press event of the year is scheduled to be held on March 25 at Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus. Additionally, the company is also expected to make a few more interesting announcements like a video streaming service to compete with the likes of Netflix, Hulu, and more. Source: Twitter
  20. Apple's AirPods have been due for a refresh for quite some time and we've been hearing about a launch every now and then. Last year, we expected Apple to announce the second-generation earbuds alongside the iPhones, but it didn't materialise. AirPods have been extremely successful since its launch and are still among the most preferred. With 2019 setting in, we're hearing even more about the upcoming AirPods 2. Thanks to MySmartPrice (https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/apple-airpods2/), we know the AirPods 2 will look similar to the previous generation, but pack a set of new features. Improvements will include improved bass and a grippier, non-slip coating, and new sensors. © Apple Previous reports have pointed out that Apple is very serious about health and shall include a host of new sensors like heart rate scanner and enhanced fitness trackers. The wireless earbuds shall also feature water resistance, better battery life, and improved audio quality. The AirPods 2 shall come in two colours -- black and white. The price is expected to be around US$ 200 (Rs 14,100), instead of the current US$ 159 (Rs 11,250). © Reuters Secondly, the same report also sheds light on Apple's AirPower mat. The wireless charging mat was first announced in 2017, alongside the iPhone X. But we haven't heard anything official about it since then and the company still seems to be finding a way to mass produce it. However, since the product was first teased, AirPower seems to have undergone some adaptations. The production-ready mat is said to be "slightly thicker than originally expected" due to a multi-wireless charging coil configuration. Earlier reports have indicated that the product wasn't ready since it produced an exceptional amount of heat, thanks to multiple coils. The AirPower itself may come with some 'exclusive features' but those will come to play only with iOS 13. © Apple The AirPods 2 is expected to launch in the first half of this year, while the AirPower mat is expected to come by the end of 2019. We expect the company to announce the two together during a press conference in the coming months.
  21. Using AirPods always comes with the general fear that one day it will slip out of your ear, fall to the ground and you'll end up losing them. AirPods are small, don't have anything to hold it together and losing them is far easier than finding Waldo. Ever since we've been using AirPods since its release, there's always that fear that we might lose it while using it on a busy street or simply misplace them. That's exactly what Gabrielle Reilly feared and made her AirPods into something more useful than we ever expected. She modified her wireless earbuds into earrings so that she doesn't misplace them even when it falls out of her ear. © Instagram Gabrielle Reilly told BuzzFeed News, "I absolutely refuse to lose them. My cat ate through two pairs of Beats Bluetooth earphones, and all my other earphones. So I got the AirPods because there was no wire for her to chew, but I still needed something to connect them.” I made airpod earrings lmaoooo i didnt want to post this till i had better pics but whatever here it is pic.twitter.com/4pHnc8wvfv — pop (@bloodorgy) January 26, 2019 Her AirPods are now more a pair of dangling earrings that ensures they are always safe and don't fall to the ground. She can pop them out from the earring whenever she wants to charge them or pop them into her ear whenever she wants to listen to something. Reilly has also created a chain necklace to connect the AirPods and is now selling on her website for others to take advantage of her creation. You can order different types of hoops and customers can even choose the length of the earring. These earrings are aptly named 'Airings' and cost $20.00 per pair. Even though this may sound as bizarre as it could be, Reilly's earrings are nothing but ingenious. Maybe Apple could look into expanding into the jewellery department and sign her up for design ideas (Kidding).
  22. The AirPods have been one of Apple's most successful and groundbreaking product that is due for an update by the Cupertino giant. The AirPods have been selling like hotcakes ever since its launch and it seems like a brand new version is on its way. It was revealed a few days ago that component suppliers believe that the successor to the wireless buds is on its way. Suppliers believe that it will likely be called AirPods 2 and will be launched in the first half of 2019. We've already reported about new biometric capabilities that may be a feature of AirPods 2. In fact, you can read about previous leaks and speculations here. © 9to5Mac Having said that, there's now a new leak that may point towards a feature we've always wanted on the AirPods. The leak was spotted by 9to5Mac and comes from a very unlikely source — Apple itself. The latest beta version of iOS 12.2 was rolled out to developers and in the setup screen, 9to5Mac discovered the new upcoming feature. In the set-up screen, it clearly says: “Talk to Siri with your AirPods or iPhone by saying 'Hey, Siri'.” © 9to5Mac This tells us that you can now access Siri by simply saying “Hey, Siri” which means the new AirPods will be smart enough to hear the prompt. It will work similar to how it works on the Apple Watch and on iPhones. In fact, just like other Apple products, it may be able to recognise your particular voice. It could be possible that this new feature may also be coming to existing AirPods however we aren't entirely sure if the onboard chip will be able to do so. © Pexels The new AirPods 2 is also expected to come with a new wireless charging case that will work with Apple's wireless charger called 'AirPower'. It is very likely that Apple will launch the new AirPods, the new wireless charger and even new iPads at an event scheduled for March 2019. Source: 9to5Mac
  23. Apple's AirPod wireless headphones have been one of the firm's most successful products - and a much anticipated new version is in the works and expected to be launched in the first half of 2019. Patent filings suggest the company is pretty much ready with the design and mass production is just around the corner. Reports by DigiTimes and 9To5Mac indicate the new AirPods 2 are just on the way. Up till now, we've barely heard about the second generation earbuds and many expected Apple to launch them last year. According to 9To5Mac, a "Hey Siri" configuration tool found in Apple's latest iOS 12.2 beta suggests the new AirPods are coming soon. © 9To5Mac If Siri setup has AirPods inclusion, it means the second generation AirPods could bring in "Hey Siri" functionality. In this case, the audio processing shall be done by the AirPods itself, and not the connected iPhone. The new AirPods are expected to have a heart rate sensor, enabling tracking of fitness activities. Since the launch of the Apple Watch, the company has increased its focus on health tracking and slowly started integrating everything in the Health SDK. © Apple "If you zoom out into the future and you look back and you ask the question: 'What was Apple's greatest contribution to mankind?' It will be about health," Tim Cook said in a recent interview to CNBC. According to a fairly old report from Bloomberg, the new pair of earbuds are also going to be waterproof and house better Bluetooth connectivity than their predecessors, thanks to the inclusion of the W2 chip. The same chipset has also been used onboard the Apple Watch Series 3. © Apple Lastly, the AirPods 2 are expected to have wireless charging capabilities. Since the launch of the iPhone 8, Apple has committed itself to going completely wireless. Though, the company still hasn't been able to launch the AirPower mat that can charge multiple devices at once. Rumours suggest the brand could finally launch the AirPower mat along with the AirPods 2. Keep in mind, much of this is speculation and based on informal reports. There has been no official confirmation from Apple about the AirPods 2 development.
  24. Apple's AirPods have been a huge success even after having a hefty price tag. The wireless earbuds are extremely easy to use and can be exclusively used with Apple products only. Continuing the tradition of keeping a closed eco-system, the AirPods are compatible with iPhones only. No other brand has managed to even come close to the AirPods output and sales, the success even prompted Google and Samsung to come up with a pair of their own. Apple did remove the headphone jack but made sure users have a better alternative, that's obviously after ignoring the price. © Xiaomi via MySmartPrice Now, Xiaomi has launched the AirDots Pro. It comes with designs nearly identical to the AirPods, including a Bluetooth-friendly carrying case that doubles as a charger to keep the AirDots charged. Like Apple's earphones, AirDots offer touch controls for music, calls and activating voice assistants -- and they work with both iOS and Android. Xiaomi actually released its original AirDots last year–but they looked nothing like Apple's AirPods. With its new AirDots Pro, that's all changed, however. Xiaomi is expected to host a press event on Jan. 11. The company will likely unveil the AirDots Pro there and provide details on availability. © Xiaomi via MySmartPrice The earbuds are being marketed with multiple names like the AirDots Pro, Freedom Buds Pro, as well as Mi Air. It is possible the product could have a different name depending on the market. They can function independently of each other, and can reportedly run for up to 10 hours on a single charge. According to MySmartPrice, "The Mi Air Bluetooth earbuds utilize a 7mm neodymium driver with a titanium sound chamber for impressive audio quality. Xiaomi's latest earbuds also support the AAC codec and come with ENC noise reduction technology to suppress environmental noise." The earbuds are lightweight at only 5.8 grams and support IPX4 water resistance. It comes with a USB Type-C charger and boasts support for AAC codec. They have Active Noise Cancellation for improved sound and call quality. While the AirPods cost Rs 12,900 in India, the Xiaomi AirDots Pro are priced at CNY 399, that is approximately Rs 4,000. The company has launched them only in China right now, and there's no word on a local launch.
  25. AirPods have been a huge success for Apple and it seems like the company is bringing a brand new version of the wireless earphones soon. According to trademark filings and reports, the new AirPods will have more advanced features than the current generation. The filings were made from Hong Kong and Europe a few days ago, where new details about the next AirPods were leaked. © MensXP The filings were spotted by Patently Apple and the next version of AirPods are expected to have health-related features. The new features are expected to track and monitor heart rate via the biometric sensors inbuilt into the wireless earphones. The filing detailed the featured it may cover i.e.: “namely, health, fitness, exercise, and wellness sensors, monitors, speakers and displays for measuring, displaying, tracking, reporting, monitoring, storing, and transmitting biometric data, heart rate, body movement, and calories burned; hearing aids; medical apparatus and instruments; apparatus for use in medical analysis; testing apparatus for medical purposes; pulse meters; thermometers for medical purposes; spirometers [medical apparatus]; dental apparatus; heart rate monitoring apparatus; earplugs [ear protection devices]; feeding bottles; non-chemical contraceptives; hair prostheses; plaster bandages for orthopaedic purposes; suture materials.” © MensXP The new filing also mentions that there will be a mechanism to transmit biometric data such as heart rate, body movement and calories burned. According to the report, the AirPods will work closely with other Apple products such as the Apple Watch. We aren't entirely sure when Apple will launch the new AirPods, however, these filings make it extremely exciting thanks to the new features. There are other reports that suggest AirPods may also support noise-cancelling features which is a highly requested feature by AirPods users. Source: Patently Apple
