  1. We know about people not getting their due credit for the work they put in and it sucks. But, what about getting credit without even working on something? No, we're not here to talk about your boss and their credit-stealing ways. In a hilarious and 'shocking' mix-up, Javed Akhtar has been given credits for being a lyricist for the upcoming biopic 'PM Narendra Modi' based on the Prime Minister's life starring Vivek Oberoi. The only problem is that Javed Akhtar never even worked on the movie! Sharing his shock on Twitter, he wrote about not having been involved in the movie whatsoever. Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it ! pic.twitter.com/tIeg2vMpVG — Javed Akhtar (@Javedakhtarjadu) March 22, 2019 Has this ever happened? Like, I remember controversies with people not getting credit, but this has to be a first. Did someone copy-paste the names from somewhere and Javed Akhtar also accidentally ended up there? I need some answers, and so does Javed Akhtar, it seems. Since the movie is a hot topic for today, this new development also got some reactions online. Here's what people are saying: Okay, then. à¤à¤°à¥ à¤à¤¬ पà¥à¤°à¥ फिलà¥à¤® à¤à¤ फसाना हॠतॠà¤à¤ª à¤à¤¸à¤®à¥à¤ सà¤-à¤à¥à¤ à¤à¥à¤¯à¥à¤ ढà¥à¤à¤¢ रहॠहà¥à¤à¥¤ — 1World (@kafkaaz) March 22, 2019 Umm. 2. The revolution that 'Gully Boy' brought into the film industry goes beyond the intricacies of storytelling and film making, great casting, as well as a show of talent shouldered not only by lead actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, but even the supporting cast of the film which included names like Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Varma, Vijay Raaz, Amruta Subhash and Srishti Shrivastava, amongst others. © Excel Entertainment The film has been a massive hit at the box office; however commercial gains aside, 'Gully Boy' has also managed to gather a crazy and loyal fan base that is here to stay for a long time to come. From avid movie-goers to ardent hip-hop fans, 'Gully Boy' has built a strong fan following with everything it had to offer. If you also happen to be one of the many loyal fans 'Gully Boy' has succeeded to bag, there is an awesome news for you all. Less than a month after the release of 'Gully Boy', director of musical drama, Zoya Akhtar made an exciting announcement. 3. On 22nd January, the Pakistan cricket team was eager to extend their lead in the five-match series when they took the field against South Africa for the 2nd ODI in Newlands. Defending just 203 runs, Pakistan were seen dictating the terms when they had the hosts reeling at 80/5 in 15 overs. But, a 127-run partnership between Rassie van der Dussen (80) and Andile Phehlukwayo (69) for the sixth wicket dashed Pakistan's hopes and handed the Proteas a five-wicket win. While the two South African batsmen were hailed for their resilient knocks, the match will now be remembered for the racist remarks fired by Sarfraz Ahmed at Phehlukwayo. "Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj (Hey black guy, where's your mother sitting today? What have you got her to say for you today)?," the Pakistani skipper was caught saying on the stump-mic. Sarfaraz Ahmed to Andile Phehlukwayo: "abbay kaale teri Ami kahan bethi hoyi hain aaj, kya parhwa kay aya hai aaj" "black man wheres your mother sat? What have you asked your mother to pray for you today?"#SAvPAK pic.twitter.com/vw6yuE73OE — Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) January 22, 2019 The 31-year-old's racist comments sparked a massive outrage on the social media. There was an apology from Sarfraz but it came a tad too late. Taking note of the incident, the International Cricket Council (ICC), later, found the Pakistani skipper guilty of breaching its code of conduct and banned him for four matches (2 ODIs and as many T20Is). Forced to return home, Sarfraz was apologetic in his media interaction. But, he minced no words in slamming Shoaib Akhtar for his "personal attack" on the Pakistani captain. "He (Shoaib Akhtar) is attacking me personally not criticising," Geo TV quoted Sarfraz, as saying. "I accepted my mistake and received the punishment. I want to thank PCB for handling this case and fulfilling requirements. I will improve myself and my performance in the future and I thank my supporters for their backing," the 31-year-old added. Sarfraz must explain himself to Media & public regarding his comments to batsman.. pic.twitter.com/Ocx74ry4IW — Shoaib Akhtar (@shoaib100mph) January 23, 2019 Akhtar, former Pakistani speedster, had earlier slammed Sarfraz for his demeanour on the field. “I strongly condemn it (Ahmed's racist comments) as a Pakistani. In my opinion, it was absolutely disgusting what he's said. I think he should publicly apologise for it. As a Pakistani captain, he should lead by example and inspire others as well,” Akhtar had said. While Sarfraz has been away from the field, the ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa is evenly poised at 2-2 with deciding clash scheduled in Newlands on 30th January. Following the ODI series, the two teams will also face-off in three T20Is slated to begin from 1st February.
  4. It was a dark day for the true fans of cricket who truly appreciate the diversity the sport aims to bring together, no thanks to the captain of the Pakistani cricket team, Sarfraz Ahmed, who racially taunted South African all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo during the second of five ODIs in Durban on Tuesday. After an underwhelming batting display put up by the Pakistani team who were all out on 205, Proteas all-rounder, Phehlukwayo won the match with an exceptional 69-run innings to tie the ODI series at 1-1 and was also declared the Man of the Match for the outing. However, during his innings, the Pakistani bowlers decided their level best to bowl him out but none of the six were able to send him away. A very furious and frustrated Ahmed eventually made a debacle of an attempt to sledge the batsman by saying: "Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya padhwa ke aaye hai aaj? (Hey black guy, where's your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?).” Sarfaraz Ahmed to Andile Phehlukwayo: "abbay kaale teri Ami kahan bethi hoyi hain aaj, kya parhwa kay aya hai aaj" "black man wheres your mother sat? What have you asked your mother to pray for you today?"#SAvPAK pic.twitter.com/vw6yuE73OE — Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) January 22, 2019 The unwelcomed comment was so random and exasperating even to the ears of the legendary Pakistani commentator Ramiz Raja who was on-air during the match, that he dodged fellow commentator Mike Haysman's request to translate whatever the stump mic had picked up for the English speaking audience, by saying that it was a really long sentence and was really difficult to translate. Hours after Ahmed took a firing by angry cricket fans on the internet, another Pakistani Hall of Famer, Shoaib Akhtar decided to publicly ridicule the skipper's comments in a minute and a half long video on Facebook. “I strongly condemn it (Ahmed's racist comments) as a Pakistani. In my opinion, it was absolutely disgusting what he's said,” said the pacer. “I think he should publicly apologise for it.” “As a Pakistani captain, he should lead by example and inspire others as well.” Akhtar said. Akhtar's video was appreciated by many who showed their support on Twitter as well: Standing against racist comments. . . Respect from India. — k pranai (@KPranai) January 23, 2019 Sarfraz is the weakest link in the team, gets under pressure too soon and starts blabbering...he should not be a captain rather he does not have any place in the team — Imran Akbar (@imakbar) January 23, 2019 Racism not acceptable in any manners @SarfarazA_54 these kind of Comment can let down the sports. Looking forward to strict action — FAHAD (@FAHADBILADIWALA) January 23, 2019 Captain doing such act.. what a shame.. disrespect — Shubham Tiwari (@Shubhamt208) January 23, 2019 There should be a suspension as these were very disgraceful comments passed by sarfraz. A captain should set the standards rather than being a disgrace himself — shehzad nasir (@nasir364) January 23, 2019 Shoaib bhai, this is not a heat of the moment thing. He had no idea what he was saying - these things are a part of Pakistani culture and language and he is ignorant. That being said, I agree, he needs to apologize and maybe be banned. — Zeeshan Anwar (@zeeshanwar_) January 23, 2019
  5. 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is one of Farhan Akhtar's best-remembered pieces of acting. However, his later performances have not only just received a mild reception but have also failed to leave a mark on the audience's mind. Be it as a lead actor in 'Lucknow Central' or as a supporting actor in 'Dil Dhadakne Do', Farhan didn't quite succeed in winning over his audience with his performance, which was the complete opposite to the phenomenal response to the biopic under Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's direction. © ROMP Pictures While fans have been waiting for Farhan Akhtar to reclaim the silver screen one more time with his acting potential, there's a piece of good news regarding the same that awaits them. After an earlier announcement stating the release of Farhan's first official Bollywood movie 'The Fakir Of Venice' this Friday on 18th January, the 'Rock On!!' star has now made another happy announcement about his upcoming acting project, which will be helmed by none other than Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra! According to the latest reports, Farhan is all set to essay the role of a boxer in the film. However, unlike their previous film, this character is said to be based on a fictional character. Farhan took to Instagram to break the news to his fans. Here is what he said exactly: View this post on Instagram Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @rakeyshommehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan .. a heartfelt story of a boxer. âªHope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey. Love A post shared by Farhan Akhtar (@faroutakhtar) on Jan 15, 2019 at 8:01pm PST According to a report by The Indian Express, a source has revealed, “It's not a biopic. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh again. The film should roll this year.” We really can't wait to see what the pair will whip up this time around.

  7. Farhan Akhtar, the multi-talented man also happens to be a jack of all trades in the Hindi film industry. An excellent director, talented actor and a superb singer, but those aren't the only things he is adept at. Farhan is also a screenwriter and a producer and has a number of top-notch films to his credit. It was back in 2008 when I first witnessed the man charm his way to the silver screen so effortlessly, in the musical drama 'Rock On!!'. Ever since I fell for his refreshing and relatable acting skills. Farhan has since sent great movies our way, be it 'Rock On', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', 'Dil Dhadakne Do, 'Rock On 2' or 'Lucknow Central' among many others. 9. Ever since emerging on the international circuit, Shoaib Akhtar quickly instigated the general consensus that he was going to become one of the best in the business. If his extreme pace left the opposition batsmen ducking for cover, Akhtar's fiery attitude turned him into one of the most entertaining characters in cricket. The right-arm speedster knew he was the fastest bowler and he made sure others knew it too. For a man who sprang into action as a natural successor to the legacy of famed Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, Akhtar, contrary to popular perception, eventually ended his career as one of the 'could've beens' in international cricket. Despite his impeccable skills with the ball, Akhtar's career was overshadowed by the long list of misdemeanours, bans and hefty fines. Don of cricket as they called me but never enjoyed hurting people but I must say when I was out there I just ran in for the love of my country & for the people around the world .. pic.twitter.com/be84Y2yYl5 — Shoaib Akhtar (@shoaib100mph) October 7, 2018 Thus, long after his retirement, there was no surprise to see the 'Rawalpindi Express' calling himself the "don of cricket". Taking to Twitter, Akhtar wrote: "Don of cricket as they called me, but never enjoyed hurting people. But, I must say when I was out there I just ran in for the love of my country and for the people around the world". © Twitter But, while the former Pakistani seamer was basking in his old glory, Indian cricket fans wasted no time in reminding him of the hammering the great Sachin Tendulkar dished out during the 2003 World Cup game in South Africa. Taking Akhtar to the cleaners, Tendulkar had blasted his way to a 75-ball 98 which paved way for India's six-wicket win over Pakistan. Here's a look at how Indian fans trolled Akhtar for his 'don of cricket' tweet: How can you forget this gem from @sachin_rt !! Smashing you my friend. 10. The world of cricket is well versed with the fiery rivalry shared between India and Pakistan. It entices fans, makes up for an exciting contest on the field and attracts limelight like no other. Thus, when the two teams locked horns in the 2018 Asia Cup recently, tempers were once again expected to soar. However, contrary to popular perception, their group game failed to live up to the expectations of fans, as Pakistan suffered a heavy eight-wicket loss at the hands of Rohit Sharma & co in the tournament. Bowled out for a mere 162 runs, Pakistan failed miserably to defend their total as India avenged their 2017 Champions Trophy final loss in style. © BCCL Sarfraz Ahmed and his boys were so poor, that it beggared belief. Irked by Pakistan's dismal show, their fans took pot-shots at the team and slammed them for their shambolic defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India. If the mood amongst the fans was damp, the state of mind of former Pakistani cricketers who witnessed their team's debacle, was even worse. Ahead of their Super Four clash, an Indian journalist tried to get an emotional response from Shoaib Akhtar by asking him if Pakistan was once again ready to get hammered by the 'Men in Blue'. Infuriated by the anchor's choice of words, the former Pakistani speedster minced no words in shutting her down. He asked the anchor to ask questions related solely to cricket before claiming that he isn't a state-level cricketer. He further asked her to maintain a sense of dignity and rethink who's sitting in front of her. Akhtar's comments came during a pre-match chat show that also included Gautam Gambhir and Sandeep Patil. While Akhtar eventually managed to shut the Indian anchor, he just couldn't save Pakistan from another hammering at the hands of India in the Super Four clash later in the day. Defending a mediocre total of 237 runs, Pakistan failed miserably against the marauding opening pair of Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan whose hundreds powered their side to an emphatic nine-wicket win. It was India's second successive win over Pakistan in the ongoing tournament.
  11. Fact-checking and double checking is very important and looks like a Bengali text publisher learnt that the hard way. Even if the mistake seems quite obvious, sometimes they aren't rectified, and the result is very, very expensive. So, what was the costly mistake of the day? A Bengali textbook put a picture of Farhan Akhtar portraying Milkha Singh in the hit movie 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' instead of the real 'Flying Sikh'. Ouch, that's one bad mistake, it's almost disrespectful. I mean, Milkha Singh has represented the country all over the world and this is how he gets thanked? That's not cool. image of @FarOutAkhtar is portrayed as milkha singh in west bengal text book. not at all shocked. its became regular incident here @ShefVaidya @ShankhNaad pic.twitter.com/xWfIqtgTWf — Lyfe Ghosh (@Lyfeghosh) August 18, 2018 Soon, this tweet came to Farhan Akhtar's notice and he quickly decided to make sure the 'glaring error' in the book was brought to the publisher's notice and it should be corrected and replaced soon. To the Minister of School Education, West Bengal. There is a glaring error with the image used in one of the school text books to depict Milkha Singh-ji. Could you please request the publisher to recall and replace this book? Sincerely. @derekobrienmp https://t.co/RV2D3gV5bd — Farhan Akhtar (@FarOutAkhtar) August 19, 2018 He also tagged TMC spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dereck O' Brien for good measure, and it paid off since he immediately got a reply. Appreciate your response. Tagged you since you take education very seriously. — Farhan Akhtar (@FarOutAkhtar) August 19, 2018 This is a valid point. Completely agree with you. No thorough review before the text goes to print ? Are we playing with the education of the future generations ? There's no point winning this game. — abhishek mantri (@mantri_abhi) August 19, 2018 Probably. Lol. You played the role so convincingly @FarOutAkhtar that you ended up in text books as Milkha Singh!! — Aisha Sheikh (@Aish61) August 19, 2018 Don't know if we should laugh or be shocked. This is comedy. Dark comedy. Satirical dark comedy. At first I laughed so hard.. Then I gave it some serious thought.. And then I laughed harder https://t.co/LA4TAZpRL3 — sanket porwal (@sanketporwal) August 19, 2018
