  1. When it comes to loungewear shorts, the wilder the pattern, the better the pair looks. While men tend to play it safe with mainstream colours like dark blue or a brown or even more predictable with a colour like black, there are people who are open to the exciting options that exist out there. Case in point, Saif Ali Khan. © Viral Bhayani Recently, he stepped out with Taimur in the most exciting shorts we've seen in a while. These shorts had all sorts of candies and ice creams printed on it in vibrant colour tones. Saif Ali Khan looked like he was stepping out for grocery shopping, and honestly, we think this is probably the best grocery shopping outfit that we've seen in a while. © Viral Bhayani Besides, this is the sort of pattern that men should ideally dip their toes in, just like quirky socks, quirky patterns are a great choice for a casual Sunday stay-at-home-brunch outfit. This year has been great for Saif Ali Khan as Netflix original Sacred Games' second season came out. This was followed by his film Laal Kaptaan, wherein he plays the role of a Naga Sadhu. Besides, the trailer for his film Tanhaji came out, in which he plays the role of a warrior. Just like his outfits, clearly, Saif Ali Khan has been taking up diverse roles. View the full article

  3. Ali Fazal is, without a doubt, a star that aspiring actors look up to. There was no looking back for him after his movie Fukrey became a massive hit at the box office. Slowly and gradually, he made his mark in the industry and now, he is all set to entice his fans with his upcoming movie Death On The Nile, where he will be sharing screen space with a bevvy of stars including Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot, Russel Brand, Rose Leslie, Armie Hammer, and Letitia Wright. Fazal's new look from Death on the Nile is out wherein he is seen sporting a pencil-thin moustache, wearing a black striped suit with black gloves and a striped muffler. Fans are looking forward to seeing the actor nail this character as well. © Kinberg Genre Talking about his look, a source close to him told Mid-Day, “The actor who was earlier sporting a prominent facial fuzz has shaved off his beard. His look for the last month has been with a pencil moustache. Ali is the kind of actor who believes in sinking his teeth into his character completely. Because of the representation of Indians in movies, Ali is extremely particular about his look in films he does internationally. He categorically picks parts where acting is a priority over the race of his character. For the longest time, Indian actors in the West had stereotypical imagery, and Ali is cautious to not allow his characters to suffer from similar issues. He is imbibing the traits of his character, taking a step ahead of what the script had. He even started reading the original material at the start of the shoot, keeping the script as his bible all along.” View this post on Instagram Abide! A post shared by ali fazal (@alifazal9) on Dec 1, 2019 at 2:25am PST The film is a follow-up to the 2017 blockbuster Murder on the Orient Express by the same studio, 20th Century Fox. It was also an adaptation of Christie's novel of the same name. Death on the Nile is slated for an October 9, 2020 release. Are you excited for this one? Let us know in the comments section below. 14. Ever since their dismal outing at the ICC World Cup in England & Wales, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has brought in noticeable changes in a bid to prepare better for the future assignments. From changing the coach to bringing in healthy diet, Pakistan cricket team has undergone a major overhaul. More recently, a crackdown on Sarfaraz Ahmed's captaincy saw the PCB opting for split-captaincy. While Sarfaraz remains Pakistan's captain in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), the likes of Azhar Ali and Babar Azam have been handed the responsibilities of leading the national sides in Tests and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) respectively. © Reuters Following a 3-0 whitewash in the T20I series against Sri Lanka at home, Babar was looking forward to lead Pakistan's charge as the great Australian challenge beckoned. But, while many thought it was premature move which could affect the form of arguably Pakistan's best batsman at the moment, Babar sought inspiration from successful leaders like Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli. Leading Pakistan in the three-match T20I series against Australia, Babar was looking solid with his gritty fifty in the first match before incessant rain ruined the opening contest as a 'No Result'. In the second T20I at Canberra, Babar carried on his fine form and recorded his second consecutive fifty in the series. While his resurgent innings kept the scoreboard ticking, it was Iftikhar Ahmed's blazing 34-ball 62 that powered Pakistan to a competitive total of 150 runs at the loss of six wickets. Though the popular perception over Babar's form, owing to the added responsibility of leading Pakistan, was put to rest by the right-hander with his fifty, the captain of the visiting team witnessed a moment of frustration during their innings. Don't make the captain unhappy... ð³#AUSvPAk pic.twitter.com/VZO9QwbOEK — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) November 5, 2019 In the 12th over, the visitors had already lost three wickets with their run-rate not as flowing as one would have expected. While Babar was looking to stitch a partnership in a bid to stabilise the innings, his partner Asif Ali witnessed a rare lapse of judgement which led to his dismissal. Facing only his fifth delivery of the match, Ali, rather than looking to rotate the strike and let his skipper take charge, went for an unnecessary slog-sweep which went straight into the hands of Pat Cummins for a simple catch at long on. As the hosts rejoiced in a huddle, Babar was seen venting out his frustration with a hand gesture at his partner's poor shot selection. As soon as the video of Babar's hand gesture, drawn out of frustration, surfaced on social media, cricket fans across the globe took the opportunity to sympathise with the new Pakistan captain. 18. Ibrahim Ali Khan has everything to make it big in Bollywood. Drop-dead good looks, genes from the quintessential royal family of Bollywood, and a family name that almost certainly guarantees a huge fan following. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla Even before his Bollywood debut, Ibrahim is a favourite among designers, who are lining up left, right and centre for him to showcase their latest collections. And if Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are an example of the zeitgeist in tinsel town, Ibrahim is doing a pretty good job. Recently, Ibrahim shot for Abu & Sandeep and their latest collection, called Mard, which had a really awesome collection of striped sherwanis and bandhgalas. Here, take a look. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla The striped jacket and trousers with accents really go well with the patterned mules. Furthermore, the abstract manner in which some of the areas have been made to clash with the generally horizontal stripes should allow for an interesting visual aspect. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla The bandhgala also, with its frilled neck and bejewelled cuffs, look classically regal, all the while carrying a modernistic undertone with it. The array of medallions that are being used as brooches, further add to the aristocratic appeal of the bandhgala. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla The brooches in themselves are a work of art, replete with traditional designs and motifs. Another bandhgala from the collection that's worth mentioning is this one, with a simpler aesthetic. The striped placket, and the similarly striped lower half of the bandhgala have an understated appeal. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla But our favourite piece from the collection has to be this shacket. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla The stripes and the silhouette, combined, give it a very kitschy feel. The ultra-large pockets and the stripes flowing in the opposite directions give it a very militaristic or utilitarian appeal.
  19. Laal Kaptaan is one of the few films that have noticeably raised eyebrows this year, not just because it follows an unconventional narrative following the life of a naga sadhu played by Saif Ali Khan, but also because of Saif's grand persona in the film. © Eros The character required Saif Ali Khan to grow out his hair and beard before even initiating his transition into the get-up of what could remotely resemble the look of a naga sadhu. So, we spoke to celebrity hairstylist Darshan Yewalekar to understand the process behind this elaborate transformation. Director Navdeep Singh and Darshan collaborated together to execute the vision of bringing an authentic naga sadhu look. "The vision was to create a look that comes across as genuine required detailed research. So, I went to Varanasi where my friends had rare pictures of them," Darshan said. © Eros © Eros "To create the look, we needed to understand that a naga sadhu is essentially a man who renounces worldly life. These sadhus are always covered with ash and because they follow the divine path, they do not care for grooming or even the clothes that they wear. They seldom cut their hair or groom their beard, so the dreadlocks are organic and common. This is where the inspiration for the look came from. We had to incorporate elements like bhabhuti — the white powder, dreadlocks, scruffy beard, and red tikka all things central to the identity of a naga sadhu," says Darshan. View this post on Instagram A post shared by डॠ(@darshanyewalekar) on Oct 13, 2019 at 4:24am PDT In fact, it was indeed challenging for Darshan to create this look. "Reading the script is very important to me as it gives me a proper understanding of the film, and the look I'll have to create. Laal Kaaptan had characters ranging in varying geographical regions with polarizing characterisations." Darshan says that he was handed over 46 folders of thoroughly researched e-documents by the director that laid his groundwork. This included not just for Saif but for characters of The Hunter, Rehmat Khan, The Widow in the film, for which he had to take into account the hair texture, the clan each character belonged to, their hierarchy, history of each character, age, and their identity. © Eros To the comparison on social media with Jack Sparrow, Darshan responded by saying "when you'll see Laal Kaptaan, you'll see him for what he is, a naga sadhu. Just because he has dreadlocks, he is being compared to the Pirates of the Caribbean, so the comparison is in fact pointless." In fact, creating the look each day on set would take about two hours to make sure that each detail looked authentic. © Eros Laal Kaptaan, co-produced by Eros International and Aanand L Rai's banner Colour Yellow Productions, was released on October 18, 2019.
  20. With kohl-lined eyes and long, wild locks, Saif Ali Khan created a rabid curiosity among people to watch his latest movie Laal Kaptaan on the big screen and the verdict is in. Over the years, Saif has evolved as an actor and his idea of experimenting with roles has clearly been working for him. After watching the trailer of Laal Kaptaan, viewers were left wanting and waiting to see what new element the actor is bringing to the table this time. The movie has already hit the screens and as expected, people have some rather strong opinions. While some are saying the movie is most certainly worth a watch as the concept is something new and brave which has been attempted before, some found it to be an absolute waste of Saif's talent. Saif has gone the extra mile to look convincing for the role that he had taken up in Laal Kaptaan. Talking about the physical transformation he underwent to play the role of a revenge-seeking saadhu, Saif had earlier said, "I even got my ears pierced for the role, which I was worried about initially. My hair has grown a lot. It bothered me throughout summer when I was shooting in Rajasthan's sweltering heat. It took me 40 minutes to two hours sometimes to just get into hair and make-up for the part." Apart from this movie, Saif will be seen next in Taanaji: The Unsung Hero, which co-stars Ajay Devgn, in Dil Bechara, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and in Jawaani Jaaneman, which will mark the Bollywood debut of Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaia Furniturewalla.
  21. Ali Fazal is one actor who is not just making waves in Bollywood but has also found his calling from the shores of Hollywood on the basis of his insane and sheer talent. © Excel Entertainment The Mirzapur actor, who has had to work very hard to prove his mettle, is currently on an all-time career high. With Victoria And Abdul giving him a pretty solid exposure in Hollywood, Ali is currently busy shooting with none other than Wonder Woman Gal Gadot for Death In the Nile, which is based on an Agatha Christie novel. The cast and the crew is currently on a shooting schedule in London, where Ali also called in his 33rd birthday, courtesy Gal, who threw a private and a surprise dinner bash for him. Ali took to social media to share the pictures and videos from his birthday, along with a 'thank you' note. I wish everyone wisdom in these dark times - words are often thrown about like shredded paper and so i ask of you to stop and ponder on the ones you use in lets say one day. They can change the world . I kid you not. My two bits. HAVE A GREAT OCTOBER . (I mean i'll stil post its just.. sounded like a nice end so oct isnt over ð³ ) bye. A post shared by ali fazal (@alifazal9) on Oct 16, 2019 at 1:20am PDT While still in London, he also decided to catch a movie at the ongoing film festival where he also, in what one might call an event of pure serendipity, got the chance to meet his idol, the legendary Al Pacino. Ali happily shared his selfie with him along with a long note about this wonderful encounter which read as follows: "I post this today. My best gift of 2019, hell actually my whole life as ive known it because the people who know me know very well what this meant. I told him i pirated his movies just to catch up at one point. Id neva do that now but we all done bad things. We spoke a little about my work and then for some reason i remembered my two mamu's and my mum being great fans of him as well.. so, i told him they were the ones who got me hooked on to you. My first fairytale i remember as a child is a story about an italian family in newyork. And years later i asked my mom why she did that. Who tells a kid about the godfather and she said - “i thought it was a nice story but i dont think i told it right. Go Watch it “. Anyway.. this was long overdue. And it happened at a private screening for the irishman with Mr De niro, Martin scorsese, harvy kietel, anna paquin and Al ofcourse. The movie? Flawless and if i can say the perfect film. Now u must understand an actor can never say that but it is. Its long tho.” Wow. Talk about the ultimate birthday gift. Death On The Nile follows the story of detective Hercule Poirot, who is trying to solve the case of the mysterious death of an Egyptian princess.
  22. Saif Ali Khan usually keeps his public appearances subtle. But when he is in the mood for it, he certainly can spice things up when it comes to his personal style in the quirkiest of ways. For his film Laal Kaptaan, Saif Ali Khan has been making quite a few appearances off late. One of these recent appearances included a head-to-toe, back to school outfit. Take a look here: © Instagram/Viral Bhayani © Instagram/Viral Bhayani The outfit included a vibrant pink t-shirt along with equally vibrant Hollister orange shorts. The outfit was so bright that one could easily spot it from a distance. To finish the look, he added a pair of sunglasses and white socks, near-knee length shorts along with white shoes. Now, the fact that he had paired the white shoes along with white socks, lent the look a back-to-school vibe. It looked like Malaika Arora was so impressed with the look, that she ended up complimenting Saif Ali Khan on his unconventional outfit. However, it is interesting to note the fact that this look is in stark contrast with his aesthetic for Laal Kaptaan, a film that is set to release on 18 October 2019. We wonder if he's going to serve us with more unconventional looks like these.
  23. For a team that shocked hosts England earlier in the tournament, Pakistan looked a mere shadow of themselves during their disappointing 41-run loss against Australia in their fourth match at the ongoing ICC World Cup. From poor fielding, wayward bowling and irresponsible batting, Pakistan were overwhelmed in almost all the facets of the game. For a team that was tipped to scare the other teams by captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan's off-day didn't just leave their skipper red-faced, but would have left their fans really disappointed. After their loss, there was a lot of criticism aimed at Pakistan on the social media by the cricket fans. But, during the game, a Pakistani fan rose to stardom after his emotionless picture in the stands surfaced on the social media. Asif Ali had already become a subject of immense criticism after dropping Aaron Finch in the slip cordon in the 13th over. But, it was his second attempt at another opportunity that left Pakistan loyalists baffled. © Reuters In the 37th over, David Warner had already notched up his hundred and was looking set to accelerate the innings. But, his decision to play the upper-cut off Wahab Riaz presented an opportunity to Pakistan to send him back into the hut. But, to the sheer horror of Pakistani fans, Ali dropped an absolute sitter. As the cameras panned over him, Ali cut himself a sorry figure, appearing apologetic with hands on his hips. As the cameras remained stationed on him for a few seconds, the reaction of a Pakistani fan in the backdrop perfectly captured the mood of the team. Struggling to come to terms with the fact that Ali had dropped a regulation catch, the fan simply stood there with hands on his waist before turning away. This Guy is the Mood of whole Awaam watching the teams fielding.... pic.twitter.com/RK9OTGQlXb — Taimoor Zaman (@taimoorze) June 12, 2019 The International Cricket Council (ICC) also shared a gif of the Pakistani fan's reaction on the social media which struck a chord with the netizens. After Australia's innings, a Pakistani reporter tracked down the man and sat with him to know why he reacted the way he did. “It was just a straightforward catch. It was really disappointing to see it happen right in front of me getting dropped. It probably showed all over my face," he said. But why didn't he heckle the cricketer, especially when Ali was stationed metres away from him? We found him! ð Interview coming soon... pic.twitter.com/u2pFYvUrUm — ICC (@ICC) June 12, 2019 “I could see it land on his hand and then he dropped it, so it was really disappointing to see it happen right in front of me. And I couldn't say anything because he had just come off a family tragedy, so I didn't shout at him,” the Pakistani fan added. The fan was referring to Ali's 19-month-old daughter's demise earlier this May, after which he was recalled to the side for the World Cup tournament. While Pakistan lost the match, their fan won a lot of praise for his thoughtful gesture in the stands.
  24. While Sara Ali Khan maybe the new talk of the town when it comes to Bollywod, she's certainly an old timer where traffic rules are concerned. We say that because a few days ago Sara was spotted in Delhi, with Kartik Aaryan during the 'Love Aaj Kal 2' shoot. 25. Saif Ali Khan has been pulling off a rather suave formal style game since a couple of years now, and honestly, no one does it better in our opinion. The inherent 'Nawabi' swag is something that he clings to even while going out wearing shorts, so clearly, when he does go out in public all nice and proper, very few people can steal his thunder. However, that takes effort, and it shows in the way he sagaciously picks out every piece his outfits entail. He just stepped out wearing a smart semi-formal ensemble with a blue shirt and blue jeans, but the one piece that gave the outfit its inimitable edge is the belt he decided to wear with it. © Viral Bhayani From a distance, it looks like a regular brown leather belt with some embellishment and embroidery, but it's a lot more. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani The belt has a charming floral pattern with flowers of different sizes across the length, and some of them are studded with silver buttons. This one right here is an accessory that will instantly amp up any formal/semi-formal outfit. © Viral Bhayani We're digging how Saif chose to stick with a pair of classic bell-bottoms instead of skinny jeans, and his leather shoes go perfectly with the belt. © Viral Bhayani Also, brownie points for that cool man bun. Let's just say Taimur is learning from the best, when it comes to matters of style.
