  1. Sonam Kapoor confirmed she is pregnant with her first baby with husband Anand Ahuja
  2. There was a time when Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty were two of the biggest action stars and together delivered several iconic hits including films like Dhadkan, Waqt Hamara Hai, Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana among others. However, in terms of the box office, their biggest hit remains the 1994 action entertainer Mohra directed by Rajiv Rai. © Trimurti Films The film was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and catapulted Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar to superstardom. It was around the success of Mohra that Anil Kapoor, who was a major box office pull back then, reportedly took a dig at the two action stars. According to a 2005 report in India Glitz, Anil Kapoor mocked Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar by calling them “two half-heroes” who joined forces to fill in for a single hero. © Twitter He further attributed the success of Mohra to the presence of “two half-heroes” in it. Anil Kapoor’s snarky remark didn’t go down well with Suniel and Akshay and they hit back by attributing the success of Anil Kapoor’s 1987 cult hit Mr India to “zero hero” since Anil’s character goes invisible in the movie for the majority of the screentime. © Twitter These jibes made headlines back in the early ‘90s, however, the three decided to bury the hatchet and a decade later Anil Kapoor worked with Suniel Shetty in Vivek Agnihotri’s Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets (2005) and with Akshay Kumar in Dharmesh Darshan’s Bewafaa (2005). Over the years, Anil has starred with Akshay in films like Welcome, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Tashan. © Yash Raj Films And with Suniel Shetty in films like No Problem and Darna Zaroori Hai. As for the iconic duo of Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, the two last worked together in the 2009 film De Dana Dan. Ever since there have been several reports of the two reuniting for the third instalment of Hera Pheri but there is no confirmation. View the full article

  7. When actors Anil Kapoor and Akshay Kumar came together for Welcome, there were rumors of some sort of post-movie animosity around them. While some reports claimed it was over creative differences, a TOI report claimed that a jocular comment made by the actor was perceived to be a sly dig at Khiladi Kumar. © Instagram In an interview with a magazine, Anil Kapoor was asked about whether he’d turn a producer and he explained that he cannot run after stars and likes to stick to his own work. “Once Akshay Kumar had asked me why I wasn’t asking him to work with me. I told him, ‘ Dekh bhai, main kisika chamcha nahi hoon. I need the same kind of passion in an actor. If we have that, we'll work together.' I can't beg and plead neither will I lick an actor's feet to cast him,” he said. It was reported that this comment had actually taken Akshay by surprise and later their common friend clarified to TOI that Akshay was not running after anyone. Rather Anil Kapoor had expressed his wish to work with him. © firoz nadiadwala “I don’t know how Anil will gain from taking potshots at Akshay. Akshay has no animosity toward anyone but if someone treats him as an enemy, there is hardly a thing he can do about it,” the source quoted. Akshay Kumar is a successful producer himself and interestingly, even Anil Kapoor later turned producer with Aisha. Source: The Times Of India View the full article
  8. Bollywood controversies are way too murkier than one can fathom and due to great PR strategies in place, we usually never get to see the dark side of the cinema world or it’s rare that we get to read about celebrity spats. However, that doesn’t mean that miscommunications or arguments don’t happen even between the most well-behaved celebrities. © Anil Kapoor Films Company Back when the Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol starrer Aisha was released, there was a buzz about the actor not being okay with the Kapoors, who were also the producers of the film. In an interview once, Abhay Deol spoke about how his film was supposed to be inspired by a Jane Austen novel but ended up becoming a 2-hour fashion show. He was apparently not happy with his role and the way the movie has turned out to be. The rumours of him being miffed were further fuelled when he was mostly absent from the film promotional activities, claiming he was filming ZNMD at that time. © Excel Entertainment In an interview with TOI, he said “I would like to say today that I will never ever be part of a film like Aisha in my lifetime. It’s not the kind of film I’d like to do." His co-star Sonam was upset at the remark and soon, a cold war began. When the father-duo came on Koffee With Karan in season 4, Anil Kapoor went on to say “Abhay Deol needs help”. On Karan asking in what way, he replied "in every way! There's something terribly wrong with the guy." © Star World The war of words further escalated when Abhay Deol made a comment on the statement. “He's right about me doing "all the wrong things". Aisha is the biggest proof of that. And yes I do "need help". Help not getting affected by people like him. He's a waste of my time." According to IBT Times, Abhay was also upset over the fact that the producers paid more attention to spending money on Sonam’s wardrobe over other aspects of the film. While the animosity was loud and clear post this film, fans were surprised when Abhay and Sonam worked together in Raanjhana. Guess that’s called being mature and professional. 9. Anil Kapoor has defied the rules of ageing and is one of the fittest actors even in his 60s. As he turns 65 years 'young' today, his friends from the film fraternity and family are wishing him. And even they cannot help but ignore the fact that he is only getting younger with each passing year, rather than looking older. © Instagram/Anil Kapoor Actor Arjun Kapoor took to Instagram to wish his chachu. He shared a series of photos taking a dig at Anil Kapoor being ageless. He posted a few pictures from his childhood through different years and a photoshopped Anil who remained the same, fit and young. © Instagram/Anil Kapoor However, it was his caption that was weird but hilarious. He wrote, “Youth ka Khazana Joshila Jawaani ka Namuna. Sirf Evergreen hi nahin, Aisi Everlasting beauty kabhi dekhi hi nahin. He ages like fine wine And makes all other actors whine. Din-b-din young hote rehte hain toh inka kya kasoor, It’s the curious case of Anil Kapoor! P.S. : Happy Birthday to my Jhakkas chachu. What a playa! @anilskapoor (sic).” He is not wrong though. © Instagram/Arjun Kapoor Watch the post here. View this post on Instagram Arjun’s dad, director Boney Kapoor also wished his younger brother via a throwback post from the sets of ‘Judaai’ on Instagram. He mentioned how he still looks young after all these years and wished him youth for the future too. © Instagram/Boney Kapoor He wrote, “This was on the sets of ‘JUDAAI ‘ in 1995 When he was 39yrs of age & I was 40. Today in 2021 24 th December, he looks better & fitter as he celebrates his birthday. Many happy returns of the day, stay blessed & continue to look younger with every passing year.” © Instagram/Anil Kapoor The secret to Anil Kapoor’s youth is none other than an active lifestyle, regular workout and a strict diet. He has shared his mantra to being fit and young even after crossing 60s. © Instagram/Anil Kapoor Call it genes or self-care, the actor does make people in their 20s and 30s (including his nephew Arjun) quite envious. 11. The Indian cricket team is about to go through some major changes in the dressing room and coaching staff in the next few months. One of the biggest developments regarding the Men in Blue is the discussion around who will be appointed as the head coach of the squad after Ravi Shastri declined the news of returning to the position after the T20 World Cup 2021 concludes. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had expressed his desire to bring back Anil Kumble as the leader of the coaching staff, however, the rest of the BCCI board members do not share the former Indian skipper’s enthusiasm towards Kumble. View this post on Instagram In a conversation with IANS, a senior BCCI board member spoke about why they think having Kumble return as the head coach is not only a bad idea but also highly unlikely. “Well, neither Kumble wants to return, nor the BCCI officials, other than president Sourav Ganguly, are or were interested. The board is looking for a foreign coach now. Kumble knows that he will have to face the same old team members (Virat Kohli and others in the team), nothing new, then why would he return? And moreover Dada (Ganguly) has recommended his name but other officials expressed their disagreement on it," the official said. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/eF5qVzdBRj — Anil Kumble (@anilkumble1074) June 20, 2017 “VVS Laxman also will not be able to get the post. However, there’s still a month left, so let’s see what comes or some change of minds! Also look at Kumble’s record as coach, it is not that impressive. See what is happening with Kings Punjab in IPL," he added. PBKS, the IPL franchise that is being currently coached by Kumble, has struggled to have any significant impact, despite having one of the most devastating opening duos in the league with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal and a fierce pacer in Mohammed Shami, leading their bowling attack. At the moment, PBKS is at the sixth spot in the IPL 2021 points table. View this post on Instagram Under such circumstances, it is more likely that the Indian cricket board will look to appoint a foreign coach for the job. Earlier this month it was speculated that Mahela Jayawardena was approached by the BCCI for the job. It was alleged that the Sri Lankan had declined the BCCI’s offer stating that he was interested in coaching his own national team, which also allowed him to keep his job as the head coach of the Mumbai Indians. However, Jayawardena shot down these rumours with a tweet, calling out the baselessness of such an incident. Was I or did I get interviewed by the indian express?? why @ThePapareSports using my picture for a quote… don’t fall in to the gossip section https://t.co/kqOyThGe9G — Mahela Jayawardena (@MahelaJay) September 18, 2021 View the full article
