  1. Salman Khan, or 'Bhai' as he is lovingly called in Bollwood, is not only known for his movies but for his extravagant habit of indulging in expensive assets. Here are 9 such assets owned by 'Bhai' which is making us fel very poor compared to him: 1. Gorai Beach home Mumbai beaches do not provide the Khan family with any exclusivity towards the beach so Salman 'bhai' has a legit gorgeous 5 BHK beach home which he bought on his 51st birthday. The insane property is spread across 100 acres and has a gym, a big swimming pool, a theatre, and the sea-facing bungalow also reportedly has a dirt bike arena for some more fun. As per reports, this cost him close to a Rs 100-crore hole in his pocket. © Instagram 2. Panvel Farmhouse This place is the resident party place for the family's parties for their friends. This place is spread lavishly over 150 acres of land and besides the usual gorgeous room, a gym, a swimming pool and all that jazz, this farm also house horses and other domesticated animals. Reportedly, this came with a price tag of some Rs 80 crore. 3. Triplex Flat In Bandra The Khan family currently resides in the famed 'Galaxy Apartments' but Salman Bhai invested in this 11-storey building which is currently under construction. Rumour has it that the family might shift into this Rs 30 crore abode here once it's done. 4. Private Yacht Obviously, all the jet set getaways to Alibaug and travelling to their beach homes require a wonderful private yacht by the Khan family. Reportedly, Salman and his bhais have a yacht which cost him a whopping Rs 3 crore. © Instagram 5. Fleet Of Cars Salman has a wonderful collection of cars, courtesy his travel in Mumbai and the entourage that travels with him. His garage is overflowing with cars like the Mercedes Benz GL Class (approx. Rs 80 lakh), Mercedes Benz S Class ( approx Rs 82 lakh), an Audi A8 L (approx. Rs 1.13 crore), the BMW X6 (around Rs 1.15 crore,) a Toyota Land Cruiser (approx Rs 1.29 crore), the Audi RS7 (approx Rs 1.4 crore) and a Range Rover (over Rs 2.06 crore), an Audi R8 (costing around Rs 2.31 crore) and also a Lexus LX470 (approx Rs 2.32 crore). PHEW! 6. Crazy Expensive Bikes Salman Bhai owns the gorgeous Hayabusa which cost him over Rs 16 lakh. Along with that, he owns the Yamaha R1 which is around Rs 15 lakh, the Suzuki GSX-R 1000Z which costs Rs 16 lakh and the Suzuki Intruder M1800 RZ which is around Rs 16 lakh. 7. Super Expensive Bicycle Bhai is often spotted on Mumbai streets bicycling his stress away. Now, one would wonder an expensive bicycle would cost around a lakh or so but his Giant Propel 2014 XTC is over Rs 4 lakh. Yepp, 'shauq badi cheez hai'! © Instagram 8. Being Human Brand The brand has Salman Khan as the prime owner and is estimated to be valued for over Rs 235 crore. © Instagram 9. Production Company Salman ventured into production with his movie 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and launched his banner SKF. He has co-produced numerous movies since then.
  2. Netflix is a Pandora's box which keeps spoiling us with a million options to choose from. This week, if you're in for a bit of a sci-fi kick just like us, then here are 5 show recommendations that will give you a pretty edgy visual experience: 1. The OA If you didn't watch the first season when it came out around 3 years ago, then please prepare to binge-watch that first. For everyone else who was left on a cliffhanger with that weird metaphysical ending and hated Prairie for not letting us in on her fate, the second season is finally here and is supposed to be crazy. 2. Love, Death + Robots This is probably the most trending sci-fi show that everyone is talking about even if they haven't really watched it. This animated series has episodes with major underlying themes in all of them and is supposed to be worth your time. 3. The Order Consider this as a borrowed Harry Potter concept twisted with the sci-fi world. The series follows a college student who discovers a whole new world of scary creatures and is surrounded by only werewolves for company. 4. Russian Doll Not that it's a new addition to Netflix. It's been there for a while, but if you still haven't watched it, save it for a weekend binge. It will make you cringe and boggle your head when you follow the lead character's life span cycle which is like a roller coaster stuck on repeat. If you want to question scientific multidimensional reality and also like a bit of existentialism like 'Waiting For Godot', then just watch this. 5. Travellers This show follows a bunch of travellers who send their consciousness back in time to actually save the society from a downfall. A secret time travel show with a heroic mission thrown in? sure, sounds like a good watch.
  3. Period dramas are one of the most fascinating things on Earth. Period. I have always been intrigued by these dramas set in a time which we don't know very well. A better time in a sense, a simpler time for sure. Ever felt like it would have been such a better life had you been born in a different era? Ruminating about how things would have been had you lived in another period, another era. No school, no need to slog for hours on at an end on a computer for peanuts, idyllic hours where you can sit and relax and think about the complexities of life and ponder nature's mysteries. Glitzy parties with good-looking men and women, kings, queens, a lot of dancing, balls, huge mansions, pristine cottages, women in intricate gowns (wearing body-numbing corsets), men in suave suits. Articulate speeches (which rival your limited vocabulary), romances which knock you off your feet and make you feel whole, clandestine affairs which shouldn't be known to a soul. Oh, the beauty of it all! So, if you are a period drama enthusiast (read fanatic who tries to appear normal by using the term “enthusiast”), here are six shows which right up your alley: 1. Downton Abbey (2010-2015): © ITV Studios/ITV/Carnival Films Set in 1912, tragedy strikes the affluent Crawley family of Downton Abbey when their only heir drowns while aboard the Titanic. With no heir apparent to bequeath the title and the fortune to, except his daughter Mary (Michelle Dockery) who can't inherit as per law, the Earl of Grantham, Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville), has no other choice but to find the next heir. As a shock to the family, the heir happens to be a middle-class solicitor, Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), Robert's third cousin (once removed), which doesn't go down well with the patrician family. Meanwhile, Robert's wife, Cora (Elizabeth McGovern), and Robert's mother, Dowager Countess Violet (Maggie Smith), unable to witness the years of Robert's meticulous work for Downton go down the drain, hatch a plan to challenge the rules of the will so that Mary may inherit the fortune as well as the estate. Parallelly, the series also focuses on the help, the servants of Downton Abbey, headed by the butler, Mr Carson and the housekeeper, Mrs Hughes and how they make the mansion a home for the people upstairs while dealing with their own problems. Spread over six seasons, the series intelligently includes momentous events from the early 20th century: the sinking of the RMS Titanic, the First World War, the Spanish Influenza, the Marconi Scandal, et al and how these events change the lives of the characters; rich and poor alike. An exquisite drama centring on the beauty of human relationships; because at the end of the day, everyone is human, social stature notwithstanding. USP: The exceptional cinematography is sure to take you back to the turn of the century. Splendid performances by the ensemble cast; everyone is perfect in their role! Maggie Smith as the Dowager Countess, Violet Crawley; with her acid tongue, cutting remarks and sarcastic wit encased in one-liners is a treat to watch. Penelope Wilton as Mrs Crawley and Maggie Smith make an iconic duo which only a few fictional pairs can match! No. of Seasons: 6 2. Mad Men (2007-2015): © Weiner Bros./Silvercup Studios/Lionsgate Television/AMC Centring on the mercurial rise of advertising in the early 1960s in America, this series focuses on the Madison Avenue firm “Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency” in New York. Enter the swinging sixties with glittering parties, scandalous affairs, fabulous fashion and excessive smoking as Don Draper makes his way in the bad, bad business of advertising. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series focuses on the lives of the characters, both personal and professional, mainly on Don Draper, as they traverse New York's bundling love for advertising. As we witness Don Draper's rise to becoming one of the best advertising minds of the era, his crumbling personal life with numerous affairs, punctuated with chain-smoking, adds to the drama. A case study in how the business world works, the series presents a new perspective on the era gone by, cleverly depicting the politics in the workplace and how people stop at nothing to achieve success. The 1960s also changed the perspective of the world regarding working women; they were no longer just the secretaries but moved on to better roles as managers and copywriters, as showcased by Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) and Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks). An epic drama which lays bare the real nature of humans: selfishness. The man-eat-man world is wonderfully portrayed through Don, who can go to any level to secure his position in the company and is unafraid to use his charm and aura for getting his way and things done. His need to succeed eventually leads him to a path of self-destruction and later, redemption. USP: The opening credits is a marvellous depiction of life; the rise and fall of humans. Jon Hamm as Don Draper makes a convincing 1950s man, the quintessential megalomaniac who can't let anyone get ahead of him in any aspect of his life. No. of Seasons: 7 3. The Tudors (2007-2010): © Reveille Eire/ Sony Pictures Television/ Showtime Networks A charming history lesson; written and produced by Michael Hirst, based on King Henry VIII and his unconventional lifestyle, The Tudors is a fictionalized version of the Tudor family's most notorious member, most importantly remembered for his multiple (six!) marriages and the changes he brought about in the manoeuvrings of the English Throne. Coursing through the life and times of Henry VIII, set in the 16th century, we follow him as he sets on the quest to make divorce legal in the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church, after falling in love with Anne Boleyn while being married to Katherine of Aragon. The series then focuses on the English Reformation; the separation of the Church of England from the papal authority and the eventual annulment of his marriage to Katherine. His relationship and treaties with the French kingdom and the intrigues of his court also form the crux of the series. The series also focuses on his term as king, the problems he had to face in order to retain his title and prove his effectiveness as king As we witness the various marriages and the aftermath of them, we get to see the human side of the oft-mentioned, infamous ruler. USP: The sensual tone of the show and the beatific locations will leave you spellbound; who could think that history could be so enticing? :P Jonathan Rhys Meyer's portrayal of King Henry VIII is commendable. Don't miss Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn, before she captivated our hearts as Queen Margery in 'Game of Thrones'! No. of Seasons: 4 4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017-): © Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions/Amazon Studios/Amazon Video Comedy works because of two things: it's funny because it's true and it's funny until it happens to you. Midge Maisel's (Rachel Brosnahan) life is the perfect American Dream in the 1950s. Her slightly eccentric and funny disposition only adds to her charm. But her seemingly perfect life goes for a toss when her husband, Joel, leaves her for his secretary. Bewildered, confused and drunk, she ends up in a downtown café, The Gaslight, and does her first impromptu stand-up while being completely unaware of it and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Midge wakes up to a talent she had been sleeping on for so many years. Guided by Susie (Alex Borstein), the perpetually angry bartender of The Gaslight, and armed with her exceptional humor and wit, she starts her new secret (from her strict Jewish family) life as a comedienne in the male-dominated stand-up scene of 1950s New York. Will she succeed? Only time will tell! USP: A beautiful, melodious soundtrack heavily influenced by Jazz, which will transport you back to 1950s New York. Rachel Brosnahan as “Miriam 'Midge' Maisel” is phenomenal, you need to see her to believe it. The way she owns the character is admirable and she makes you relate to Midge at the most primal level. The series drives home the fact that we always don't know what we are capable of until we are tested. The humour in the show is top-notch, the jokes are funny and organic, and the comedy timing of the characters is impeccable; a testament to Amy Sherman-Palladino's iconic style. No. of Seasons: 2 (Season 3 to be released in late 2019) 5. Anne with an E (2017-): © Netflix/CBC/Northwood Entertainment Based on the “Anne of Green Gables” books by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and produced by Moira Walley-Beckett, this drama is an updated and darker take on Anne Shirley Cuthbert. Anne (Amybeth McNulty) is over the moon when she finds out that she has been adopted by a family in Avonlea. But her happiness is short-lived as her adoptive guardians, brother-sister duo Matthew (R.H. Thomson) and Marilla (Geraldine James), refuse to take her in because they had asked for a boy from the adoption agency. Heartbroken, she pleads with them to keep her on because she doesn't want to return to the horror-filled memories of her past. Charmed by her loquacious nature, Matthew Cuthbert decides to add her to their family but is initially opposed by his sister who doesn't bode well with the creative pursuits of Anne. Eventually, Marilla gives in and they start their life as a family. The series then follows the adventures of Anne, as she moves on from her orphaned/social pariah status to becoming the darling of the village, courtesy of her creativity and presence of mind (things which had once made her ostracized). The series beautifully depicts the struggles of starting life anew, especially for a person who has never known love and how delightful human relationships can become over time with trust and love. USP: The series is not heavily dependent on the novels, deviating from the books to shed light on many relevant issues like racism (by introducing a black character who isn't part of the books), discrimination, sexual understanding, LGBTQ+ representation among others which are important in today's era. The performances by the lead cast, especially by Amybeth McNulty who plays Anne, are wonderful. The homely feel of the series is just one of its charming qualities. No. of Seasons: 2 (Season 3 to be released in mid2019) 6. Pride and Prejudice (1995): © BBC1 Based on the eternal love story by Jane Austen featuring the perfect dreamboat for women since 1813, Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy and the opinionated and intelligent Miss Elizabeth Bennet, the series is perhaps the best adaptation of the novel till date (Sorry Keira Knightley!). Mrs Bennet's sole ambition in life is to see her five daughters happily married into rich households. And she won't stop until she achieves that! When Mr Bingley, the new bachelor in town sets up home in the Netherfield estate near the Bennet's neighbourhood, Mrs Bennet pushes her eldest daughter Jane towards the gentleman who is smitten by her. Mr Bingley's friend, the mysterious and arrogant Mr Darcy (Colin Firth) takes an interest in the second daughter Elizabeth (Jennifer Ehle), but both seem to clash with respect to their ideals and their thinking, leading to verbal arguments and an intense dislike for each other. She thinks him to be too proud, he decrees her to be prejudiced. An ongoing battle of wits, peppered with dislike masking their true feelings, this period drama is what a typical romance ought to be. USP: Andrew Davies' stellar screenplay (especially the iconic lake scene :P). Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. The series propelled Colin Firth to superstardom and a yardstick with which future portrayals of Mr. Darcy(s) would be judged. No one has even come close to Colin's portrayal, making him the living embodiment of Mr. Darcy. The intricately written episodes, with graceful and eloquent dramatization make the series a comforting safe haven in this ruthless world. :P No. of Seasons: 1 (Six Episodes) So, which one are you planning to watch?
  4. I don't know exactly when this meme started, but I'm so on board with the entire 'spoiler without context' thing. It's so simple and genius, if you've seen the movie, you'll get the joke and that's fun and if you haven't yet watched a certain movie, congrats nothing is getting spoiled! I think the first time I saw the movie spoiler without context tweets, was right after the release of 'Avengers: Infinity War' and since then I've seen more and more people tweet this for different movies. Along with 'Infinity War', we've seen some hilarious spoilers for movies like 'Deadpool 2' and 'Antman And The Wasp'. Now, another Marvel movie is all set to join the list. Yes, 'Captain Marvel' basically just released and well, a lot of people still have to watch it, but you know that Twitter works fast. There are already a bunch of spoilers without context floating around the website and they're hilarious. 5. All the desi grooms out there, there's a piece of great news for all of you. A multi-millionaire father is looking for a groom for his daughter who he says is single, virgin and can speak multiple languages. Meet 58-year-old Arnon Rodthong, a multi-millionaire from Thailand, who owns a huge durian (yep, the smelliest fruit on the face of the earth) farm in a province in southern Thailand. © Facebook Just like any other father in the world, Arnon too is concerned about his 26-year-old daughter, Karnsita Rodthong's marriage and future. So, he decided to take the matter into his own hands and made a bizarre and inescapable offer for his future son-in-law. Arnon has announced to offer 10 million baht (Rs. 2.19 crore approx.) as well as his entire estate to the man who marries his daughter. In fact, he is even willing to waive off the 'dowry fee' that a groom is expected to pay to his future wife (it's a part of the custom in some parts of Thailand). © Facebook According to Arnon, Karnsita helps him run the family business, can speak fluent English and Chinese and is a virgin. "I want someone to take care of my business and make it last. I don't want a person with a bachelor's, or master's or philosopher's degree," he said. He further added, "I want a diligent man. I just want someone with a hard-working attitude. That's all." What's more, there are no restrictions on the future groom's nationality, as long as they 'work hard and make Karnsita happy'. © Facebook While the dad has plans of giving it all to his future son-in-law, his daughter seems to have plans of her own on how she wants to use that money. Reportedly, Karnsita, who is overwhelmed by all the attention she is getting after her father's offer, hints that her future husband might have to struggle to take out money from her father because she would "like to use it herself for plastic surgery in Korea." Well, now we're curious about that lucky guy who will get Karnsita, 10 million baht and huge durian farms.
  6. At the beginning of this month, Apex Legends was announced, a Battle Royale game that is free-to-play just like PUBG and Fortnite. The game is developed by Respawn and Electronic Arts and is available for download on PS4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC. © KnowTechie Last week, Respawn revealed that the game has hit 25 million total players and had "well over" 2 million concurrent players during the weekend. If we compare, Fortnite took four months to achieve the same numbers and the game currently has 200 million players. Today, the developer has revealed that it has already banned more than 16,000 accounts for cheating. The company also asked users to capture proof of cheaters, such as a screenshot or video clip and send it to them. Even if the proof isn't available, they are urging players to report the cheaters' ID and it shall be taken up for investigation. © Respawn The game currently lacks an in-game reporting tool and the developer has acknowledged that it's a "good idea". Though, there isn't a timeline on when the feature will be rolled out. Given the massive popularity of the game, we expect the reporting system to drop soon since a manual complain filing is bothersome for players as well as the company. A cheater who goes by the name of Mengiez on Twitch was caught cheating in his own broadcast. Viewers noticed that he's asking a wall hack to keep an eye on his opponent's location. Another Twitch streamer going by the name Dharyxd was caught using an aimbot. The videos have since been deleted, but the cheating cost them their accounts. © Respawn The game will have a second patch this week, but we don't know what to expect with the upcoming Apex Legends patch. So far, Respawn has been doing pretty well with their response to player concerns. Many players have been complaining that PUBG has a huge issue with hackers and the developers aren't doing enough to curb it. Using hacks to score points ruins the fun of the game because no player should have an undue advantage. In December, PUBG received a new anti-cheating tool called BattlEye, and it helped in 30,000 cheating accounts.
  7. Though 2019 belongs to the horror genre, some of the greatest horror films have been made in the past 50 years in Hollywood. Picking the 10 best in the category is surely a task, we have it simplified for you. Read below to find out which films land in our list of the 10 greatest horror films of all time. Get ready to get spooked: The Shining (1980) Stephen King once used to be an alcoholic novelist. It was his visit to the 'The Stanley Hotel' in 1974 which inspired him to come up with his first bestseller 'The Shining' in 1977. Only three years later, the novel was adapted into a film by the same name, 'The Shining' has remained at the top of the critics' list since then. Jack Nicholson plays Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and recovering alcoholic, who puts his wife (Wendy) and son's (Danny Torrance) lives in danger as he goes insane. The supernatural element in the film is the quintessential representation of the horror genre. 'The Shining' is an avant-garde example of Stanley Kubrick's masterful storytelling. The film is a representation of pop culture and makes the modern day viewer get a good taste of psychic terror. We have to mention here that Kubrick made the actors work extremely hard after a year of indulging them into the film. And maybe this was the reason why we saw the madness coming out of Jack. We simply can't get over the 'Here's Johnny' bathroom scene in the film. Psycho (1960) During the beginning of the 60s, master storyteller Alfred Hitchcock redefined the narrative around Hollywood films. 'Psycho' turned out to be huge and became not only one of the greatest horror films of all time but one of the greatest films ever made. The infamous story of the Bates Motel later inspired many film-makers to revive what Hitchcock created. Viewers have not only seen and rated the film on the basis of the terror it offers, but also for the fact that 'Psycho' happened to be a cinematic marvel. It inspired generations of directors and writers to come up with something that matches the craft of the virtuoso. Starring Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, John Gavin, Vera Miles, and Martin Balsam, 'Psycho' remains a film unravelled and a phenomenon of its kind. The Exorcist (1973) William Friedkin's 'The Exorcist' is a film recommended by every horror lover. The very phenomenon of exorcism became a subject matter for many films after 'The Exorcist' was released. The film is adapted from the 1971 novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty. 'The Exorcist' is well constructed and chronicles the story of a possessed girl, her troubled mother and two priests who ultimately carry on the exorcism, while one of them dies during the process. It scares you to the core and can be compared to the 'Exorcism of Emily Rose'. 'The Exorcist' happened to be the first film that was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in the horror genre. It remained the highest grossing horror film till 2017, when 'It' took its position. The air about the film's sets being cursed gave it much hype during the time of its release. The film has got all the elements that make it an unusual horror film. Halloween (1978) 'Halloween' is a movie that truly falls in the must-watch list especially on every Halloween. This film completely redefined the career of Jamie Lee Curtis (the babysitter) who later went on to appear in multiple films in the 'Halloween' series, the latest one being 'Halloween' (2018). The film depicts the story of how resident boogeyman popular as Michael Myers causes terror and killings in the neighbourhood leading to lifelong trauma to Laurie Strode, who escapes his attacks. The nerve chilling slow paced story of the film is so gripping that one can't avoid digging into what happens in the subsequent parts. John Carpenter's tour de force remains a classic in the horror genre. Get Out (2017) 'Get Out' is too good to be ignored for the list of 10 best horror films of all time. When Jordan Peele's directorial debut swept the Oscar for the Best Adapted Screenplay in 2018, it left the fans with excitement as the turnout for 'Get Out' was highly positive. Daniel Kaluuya's stint as an African-American man becoming the victim to extreme horrors has received positive reviews from the critics, earning him his first Oscar nomination. 'Get Out' was not a regular horror film, it contained brutal aphorisms and gave the audiences some bloodcurdling moments. The film reformulated horror genre and took it to an all new level. Hereditary (2018) Toni Collette's feat of strength made 'Hereditary' an unforgettable horror saga so powerful that it can give you creeps in daylight. Director Ari Aster carved the film into a tale, profoundly haunting. 'Hereditary' depicts the story of a mourning daughter who begins to face unusual incidents, ultimately leading to the death of her family members. Her children and husband succumb to the cult established by the dead matriarch of the clan. The film has been nominated for two Critics Choice Awards this year. If you plan to get scared to the core, there is no better modern day movie other than 'Hereditary'. It (2017) What can one expect from the highest grossing horror film of all times? 'It' has got it all – A good story, utopian direction, and most importantly Stephen King's involvement. The evil clown Pennywise stirred intense fright amongst kids and adults too. The conviction portrayed by the members of the 'Losers Club' is something that makes the soul of the film, as the journey of finding Georgie unfolds, Pennywise (played by Bill Skarsgård) keeps coming back in diabolical forms. Though the clown finally disappears, leaving the children, the end credits of the film says 'It: Chapter One' thus hinting to one more chapter from Stephen King's novel. 'It: Chapter Two' is finally coming to the screens this year with more twists and turns and the film is highly awaited. Rosemary's Baby (1968) The 1968 film directed by Academy Award winner Roman Polanski is one of the most talked about horror films in the world. The cast features Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, Sidney Blackmer, Maurice Evans, Ralph Bellamy, Angela Dorian, Clay Tanner, and Charles Grodin. The film is centred on the life of Rosemary Woodhouse who during her pregnancy discovers shocking truths about her husband and family. Rosemary's baby ultimately gets snatched from her and her husband turns out to be a follower of the devil. In 2017, a similar film titled 'Mother' was made, however it failed to create an impact. Poltergeist (1982) Tobe Hooper's 'Poltergeist' has remained one of the highly notable films in the horror genre. A moving story by Steven Spielberg turned out to be huge for stars JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, and Beatrice Straight as the film earned three Academy Award nominations. This is a story of a house that ultimately scares the shit out of its residents as they discover it to be possessed. There are a good number of special effects in the film, excellent for the audience of the 80s. The film offers many spine-chilling moments and keeps the viewers bound to their seats. The Witch (2016) This is the last film in our list and the one that makes your blood run cold. Unnerving and jaw-dropping, 'The Witch' leaves the audience gripped in fear as they slowly process the dread that follows majorly in the second half. Set in the 1630s, the period piece runs slow and once it takes its full form, it scares you to death. 'The Witch' by all means may be thoroughly dark, as it revolves around the lives of a farmer's family and the lost baby. Director Robert Eggers promises to leave you with a pounding heart and a very sinister image especially that of the last scene in the film.
  8. Italy is probably the dream country for so many people, and the pizza and the wine are not the only excuses one might find. Now Locana, a tiny beautiful ghost town in Italy near the Turin region, has yet again offered the same. The government there is offering around 9000 Euros to anyone willing to relocate. That's approximately Rs. 73 lakh but then there's a catch there as well. The amount will be paid in a period of over 3 years, and the prerequisite for this is that you must be married with a kid (they want to populate the place with families). “Our population has shrunk from 7,000 residents in the early 1900s to barely 1,500 as people left looking for a job at Turin's big factories,” Locana's mayor Giovanni Bruno Mattiet told a newspaper. Initially the offer was open just for the residents of Italy but the poor response has made them believe that people from other countries are also welcome to apply, if the applied conditions are fulfilled. Would you take up an offer like this? As dreamy as it may sound, in terms of practicality, I think it's logistically kind of impossible for us to move there permanently.

And when it does, we are more than sure it'll be national news, and if Bhai's powers are to be believed we might even get blessed with a national holiday the following day, for celebratory purposes! (Oh, how we wish!) Wayward hopes apart, let us tell you something about Salman Khan's wedding plans that have come from the man himself. Recently, Salman was part of the latest episode of 'The Kapil Sharma Show', and following popular demands, Kapil ended up posing the same query to Bhai in the guise of enquiring about his upcoming film 'Bharat'. Salman took the question to heart and decided to answer it for all to hear. This doesn't sound like good news to his fans either, does it? However, while Salman may be shying away from tying the knot anytime soon, he did have his fair share of affairs to make up for it. But did you know that Salman follows a personal "no kissing policy" wherein he stays away from kissing his co-stars on-screen? Well, when this was brought up, Arbaaz pointed out that he can follow such a policy so easily since he has kissed most of them off-screen. Ahem, that's some scoop, eh?

  11. Have you as a kid or, scratch that, even as an adult wondered if you could be in top shape like the athletes out there? Ok let's be honest, we all have, and some of us dream about it even now. When it comes to the NBA, the players, apart from being immensely talented, maintain a level of fitness which is almost second to none. After all the speed, agility and endurance on the court does not come out of thin air. Years of commitment, hard work and practice are needed. What we see is the final result, what we often ignore is the effort put in behind achieving that result. So having seen how fit NBA players are, we as fans of players and basketball in general have certainly asked ourselves this question - can we be fit as them? Well, I have got news for you guys, yes we can! No, this is no joke or a pep talk to make you feel better. It is possible. NBA players don't stay in shape by some divine intervention. In fact, they do so by following a set of exercises. Now of course workout regimes, gym sessions and methods vary from player to player so there is no fixed set to follow. Nonetheless, here are some common ones you can include in your routine if you want to maintain that level of fitness. Let's take a look: 1. Split Stance Sprinters One literally has to stand in a split stance and then sprint a certain distance. The key is to keep the body alert so that the adjustment can be easily made. This improves sprinting speeds as well as the ability to jump higher. Core strength is the key for any athlete and your speed is always a major factor. 2. Jump Rope As the name suggests, just jump over the rope and keep it in motion so that the jumps are timed in sequence. This is the perfect workout to get the blood flowing in the knees. It can be done almost anywhere in the gym. The footwork of a player improves and also the knee muscles are enhanced. However, when jumping rope, one must ensure that it is not on a hard surface like cement as that can do damage to the knees over time. 3. Weightlifting Going to the gym at least three days a week is a must. Ensure that weight lifting sessions are distributed equally between light and heavy to avoid the risk of too much load. This builds body strength, particularly in the arms. 4. Power Lunge Rope Slams Slam a rope constantly on the surface of the floor and keep on doing it until a rhythm is maintained. This has to be done at a fast pace and requires both physical and mental endurance. The exercise is good for both upper and lower body strength. 5. Flexibility Exercises One can improve the flexibility of one's body by performing stretching exercises. This helps during more intense workouts to build muscle and burn a lot of fat which is a key factor to stay in shape. 6. Ball Handle Lunges Engage your core, standing hip width apart with shoulders relaxed. Holding a medicine ball a few inches in front of the chest, step forward into a lunge with the right leg. This does wonders for body strength. 7. Dumbbell Press This one is using two dumbbells to perform a hand exercise while lying on one's back. It's not an easy task as both dumbbells need to be balanced as does the body. This is good for the biceps, shoulders and also upper body endurance.
  12. Horror movies are supposed to scare the sh*t out of you, but Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are coming out with a scary movie that will leave you rolling on the floor laughing. The movie is 'Stree' and thanks to the recently released trailer, we've already seen a glimpse of how brilliant it is going to be. Maddock Films If Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao didn't entice us enough to go and watch this horror-comedy, Kriti Sanon with her on-screen skeleton boyfriend and Badshah have further intrigued us all with their 'Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe' invite. Maddock Films If 'Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe' doesn't ring a bell to you, trust me you don't deserve to be on social media and might as well start using owls for communication. YouTube It was one of the most viral memes for most part of 2017 and early 2018, and the makers tried to cash in on the same meme by creating a whole song on it with a twist of spooky romance between Kriti and a skeleton. Maddock Films It's a peppy dance number by Nikhita Gandhi, Badshah and Sachin-Jigar, and begins with Kriti as a corpse who suddenly becomes all glamorous after swiping right and matching with a skeleton on a dating app. Maddock Films She invites him to the haveli for a romantic date and soon Rajkummar and Badshah join in too. Honestly, this song is fine but Amrish Puri's 'Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe' invite was and will forever be the most iconic thing ever. 'Stree' is a movie about a witch who preys on male villagers at the same time every year during a particular time. The movie is expected to release on August 31.
  13. Today, we have a lot of choice in terms of sports to watch on TV. But, go back a decade or two and the choices were pretty limited. Of course, there was cricket and hockey. But, if you were interested in any other sport, the chances of finding Live programming on TV were slim. But, there were some other sports that were on the fringe, threatening to steal eyeballs every now and then. The NBA basketball games were among the prominent ones. The audiences for such sports were of two types, hardcore fans of the sport and hardcore fans of the personalities who played the sport. We're going to be focusing on the latter here. © Getty Images Even though you'd have to be up really early in the morning to catch an NBA game live, there are many who do it. They may say it's because their favourite teams are playing but, the truth is, the only reason anyone wakes up at 5 am, is to watch their favourite player. Watching their superstars tear through oppositions is well worth the effort. And just like that, these players become something much more than stars. They become household names. Names that we can't forget. Even if you've never watched these players play a single minute of basketball you'll recognize their faces and certainly recognize their names instantly. That's the kind of status they managed to achieve in India. So, without further ado, here's a look at some of the iconic NBA stars anyone will recognize no matter how young or old they are: 1. Michael Jordan Is there any other player we could start a list of iconic NBA stars with? The man has done it all. He is the first ever sports personality to become a billionaire. Makes sense that any and everybody would recognise his name. © Getty Images If not for his time on the court (and his forgettable time in baseball) people would certainly recognise him as the man behind “Air Jordans.” “His Airness,” is one of the best basketball players of all time and we can say with reasonable certainty, that there's not a single person on the planet who hasn't heard of him. 2. Yao Ming At 7'6” Yao Ming would stand out in just about any crowd. But, while this star's height made him a formidable force in the NBA, it's not the reason for his immense popularity. Tall guy in the NBA, not a game changer is it? Nah. © Getty Images Memes, on the other hand, is a universal language that every 20-something understands. So, when your face becomes a meme, you're certainly going to become one of the most recognised faces in the world. The meme originated from a 2009 press conference. We don't know whether Yao approved of his becoming a meme or not, but what we do know, is that now no one would fail to recognise him on the street. 3. LeBron James One of the most bankable stars in basketball today, LeBron is the perfect example of what Michael Jordan would have been, if he played in the modern day. From sneaker sponsorships to epic dunks, the man does it all. © Getty Images While some may say that LeBron is more infamous than famous, our point of contention here is, he's a major crowd puller for the NBA today, whatever be the reason. If 3 NBA titles, 2 Olympic Golds, 4 NBA Season MVP's and over 31,000 weren't enough, LeBron just moved to one of the most popular NBA teams ever, the LA Lakers. We bet everyone will recognise him now. 4. Kobe Bryant Since we're on the topic of the Lakers, let's move on to one of the biggest stars to ever play for them, Kobe Bryant. 5 NBA championships, 2 Olympic Golds and over 33,000 points at an average of 25 ppg (points per game) made Kobe a menace for his opponents. © Getty Images But, it's the amount of time he spent in front of the camera that made him one of the most recognisable basketball players in the world. Throw in a fiery rivalry with his teammate Shaq and you already know that Kobe was destined for great things. Many consider him to be the Jordan of his time. Yeah, there are a lot of comparisons to Jordan in the NBA. Deal with it. 5. Dennis Rodman When we talk of NBA stars who were in the news for all the wrong reasons, we can't help but mention Dennis Rodman. While some might consider Rodman to be nothing but a poor reflection of what a professional athlete must be, we can't deny the fact that he's won 5 NBA championships. He was such a popular player for the Pistons that they even retired his number in 2011. © Getty Images While he certainly was one of the most eccentric players to ever play basketball, we'd like to believe that he is remembered for his skills on the court rather than his antics off it. Either way, Rodman is not a name we will easily forget. 6. Shaquille O'Neal Big Shaq, one of the few NBA stars who managed to get into Hollywood. Whether Hollywood helped him increase his popularity or not, will never be known, but no one can deny the effect his incredible run, as a Center for the LA Lakers, had on his popularity. © Getty Images With a towering 7'1” presence, Shaq would be just as hard to miss in a crowd as Yao Ming. He even has NBA championship rings to show off. But besides all of this, Shaq's claim to fame for the average Indian citizen would be the time, when was a part of Wrestlemania. Not many could stand toe-to-toe with the Big Show. Big Shaq could. That adds to his iconic status in India for sure.

Whatever the situation may be, the mood demands for a killer playlist that ensures you have a night that you won't forget, and this list caters to that 'sasti masti' or what we may call, 'cheap thrills' feels and will get you dancing while you scroll down: 1. Kar Gayi Chull- Expect Badshah and his foot tapping numbers to be on this list. For additional dance moves, I am sharing the original and the revamped version as well. 3. Get Up Jawanii- Honey Singh and Badshah croon for a Rani. Nostalgia alert for beating that booty along with Kashmira Shah's moves. 4. Oh Ho Ho- Give me an instance of even a single Punjabi wedding where this song was not played, and I will start believing that the sky is not blue. 5. Lataka – Please don't ask for the meaning of this song, but if you tell me you don't like this bombastic number, then as Urmila sings 'tumko tada' ( I don't even know what this even means...but sounds lit!) 6. Chunari Chunari- The 90s were mostly about Bollywood's obsession with 'dupatta' numbers right? 7. Oh Laal Dupaate Wali- Seee, another 'dupatta' number. I can do a whole list of songs dedicated just to this particular floating object of desire. 8. Saat Samundar Paar- Love the tempo and how it catches up with your dancing pace. 9. Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye- 'Chalo Ishq Ladaye' while we just dance along? 10. Dil Tote Hogaya – Hans Raj Hans weaves his magic like no one's business and you end up dancing like it's definitely your own business. Hope your Sunday is as colourful as this list!
