  1. The only day the world becomes absolutely unreliable is on April Fool's day because you never know if the content all around you is trying to prank you or not! And that's what most publications, websites and TV channels tried to do on the 1st, including Comedy Central. While scanning channels I stopped on Comedy Central to watch the most popular sitcom on television since the early man- 'Friends', and to my sweet horror, it wasn't a delight anymore to watch the series. They'd planned to air the show for 12 hours, from 6 pm till 6 am and the prank they played on us was harsh af! © Warner Bros Television They'd taken one character from each episode and dubbed his/her voice in Hindi, while the rest were speaking in English, as it was originally and let me tell you this-watching Friends being dubbed in Hindi is certainly an acquired taste! For instance, the first episode I put on was where Joey goes on a date with a girl who keeps fishing food from his plate, and then he says his iconic line "Joey doesn't share food!". Well, the only difference was that Joey's character was speaking in Hindi, while everyone else in English. So instead he said 'Joey khana nahi banthta!'. Well, all this seemed alien but that's not all! After a little while, it seemed like Joey's voice seemed very familiar, like I've binged heard his voice all through my 90s. Then the realisation donned on me- Joey's dubbed voice was actually Shah Rukh Khan! I wasn't sure if I should've been ecstatic or pissed off actually. © Warner Bros Television Well, CC went on to dub every character's voice for one episode each, till the crack of dawn. So Monica's voice was dubbed by Kajol, Pheobe's was dubbed by Kangana Ranaut, Chandler's by Saif Ali Khan, Ross's by Amitabh Bachan and Rachel's by Sonam Kapoor and they all took turns to speak in Hindi. While Comedy Central was creating a laugh riot all across the country by showcasing an absolutely new avatar for the world's most loved sitcom, I actually found it to be a little bit of a nightmare! It probably went on as planned but the stars dubbing the voices scrupulously, like they're still in the 90s, trying to make sure the audience knows it's them was a bit too much to handle. As I said, it was an acquired taste and after a while, I got used to Saif Ali Khan saying 'Mein hoon Chandler, aur mere paas sirf hasi mazaak hai'. It felt very familiar and endearing by the end of it TBH. © MensXP Head of programming, English Entertainment, Viacom 18's Hashim Dsouza made a statement and said: “Comedy Central has been the home of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and we've continually presented this iconic show through fresh and innovative programming that week-on-week keeps it at the pinnacle of most-watched shows in English entertainment. Delving deep into the spirit of April Fools, we're giving viewers a unique and bizarre version of their favourite sitcom, ensuring they enjoy this ultimate prank-day. For the longest time, Indian fans could only imagine and hope for a Desi F.R.I.E.N.D.S, but now that wait is over as we give them a glimpse to a whacky Hindi-speaking avatar of the show.” © Warner Bros Television That's quite a lot of work, to be honest, Comedy Central. Some parts did make me laugh though, parts that I got used to and didn't find funny in the past, seemed funny in Hindi for some reason. It could be the way they were dubbed and the Bollywood actors trying to embed their humour through their own style for each character. All in all, it was a good watch and something completely unexpected. If you missed out on it, I am not sure how you can watch a re-run of the same again but I do know Comedy Central doesn't lack innovation and they'll be back with something super fun, once again.
  2. AR Rahman is a great musician and composer, no one can deny that, but he may have missed the mark on his latest release big time. The 'Avengers Anthem' dropped yesterday and well, turns out it was the biggest joke this April Fool's day. From not being able to differentiate it from, say an IPL song, to just basically the entire desi fandom being so disappointed, I would just like to say, 'Avengers: Endgame' deserved better. Some people are still convinced that the song was just an elaborate prank for April 1st and the real song will come out soon because let's be real, this can't be it. People on Twitter are not holding back when talking about how much they actually hated this 'Avengers Anthem' and who can blame them? After listening to "Avengers Anthem" of A R Rahaman Me:- pic.twitter.com/7kSeEMyhiV — Rahbar Raza (@RbRaza007) April 1, 2019 It better be. That Avengers anthem by AR Rehman is an April Fool's joke, right? — Shriti ð¼ (@Zugambi) April 1, 2019 Okay. Cringe-worthy......ARR lost it completely....song is nothing special to marvel .....@Russo_Brothers @arrahman #MarvelAnthem @MarvelStudios — Vivek Swaminathan (@thetreadster) April 1, 2019 Drop the real one. Haha.. nice April Fool joke.. you got us ðð Now release the actual anthem.. — Vinit Tibrewal (@vinittibrewal) April 1, 2019 Another comparison. I was looking forward for this anthem.. But it Sounds like upcoming elections promo.. ð #generalelection2019 — Sandesh Sawal (@sandeshsawal) April 1, 2019 Here's hoping. After listening to this Thanos will wipeout the remaining half of the universe ðð#MarvelAnthem — suru (@nomad_soul_) April 2, 2019 It's not a sports event. Someone pls add a dislike button on Twitter. I survived no longer than the first 30 secs of the song. For someone who has been reading Marvel comics for almost 15 yrs, this is the opposite of special. @Russo_Brothers c'mon guys !!! This is a world cup anthem, not Avengers. — Saptarshi Chatterjee (@Saptarshi8290) April 2, 2019 Not a fan. That DC comment tho.
  3. 1st April a.k.a April Fool's Day has always been the day on which all brands try to put their best foot forward and lie to us for the sake of, well, comedy. You definitely shouldn't be believing what you see or hear on April Fool's day, but it's also the day that brings out the best in the tech space. Well, 2019 was no exception, and we got to see a lot of interesting stuff from big name companies. But here are the best April Fool's Day pranks, which we wish actually real: 1. Notifications That Literally Follow! Duolingo's pesky notifications bugging you every day to take your language test can get super annoying, which is why we're sure you end up ignoring them. But this April fool's day, the company took a step further by introducing the idea of having a large green owl appear in real life and follow you around to remind you to practice your language lessons. Heck, they even come in three modes - encouraging, disappointed, or passive aggressive - and it's downright hilarious. Check it out - 2. A Smart Assistant For Gaming? Sure. Nvidia also took it a step further by announcing a GeForce RTX smart assistant called R.O.N. The company claims it can give you cool tips when you play games like Apex Legends, telling you to hide, etc. R.O.N. can also use its brains to leave comments on sites like Reddit and Twitch for you. But be careful, R.O.N. can become a serious troll. The best part, however, has got to be the device itself, which throws a really cool holograph. Check it out - 3. RGB CPU, Anyone? Newegg's new CPU for April Fool's day makes us wonder - “How much RGB is too much RGB?” Seriously, the company showcased an RGB CPU for people who just can't have enough RGB in their life. It costs a hefty $4,999.99, and it comes with a whopping 100 cores and 200 threads. Its base clock is a supposed 1.4 Petahertz and overclock, well, if you overclock it, Newegg says you “might create a small black hole inside your CPU.” It's not something that we want, because the CPU will anyway be tucked inside a cooler, but it's a hilarious idea. Check it out here - 4. Do You Like Cup Noodles? Yes, that's what HyperX and Nissin came up with. Needs no explanation we suppose? They even claim that you can detach the fork and slurp some noodles while gaming. Sounds just about right. © HyperX - Noodles 5. Like Sharing Your Music? If you don't like HyperX's idea, then how about something more practical? Like this Jabra Earbud(dy) headphones, with which you can share the music that you're listening to. It apparently comes with an ultra-light headband that can be extended “seamlessly to accommodate the perfect fit for every pair of buddies.” © Jabra 6. An App Find Your Lost LEGO Bricks? LEGO's “Find My Brick”, as the name suggests, is a parody of Apple's Find My iPhone app. It will help you find your bricks for you in a pile of miscellaneous blocks. Image how simple your life would be with such an app, and that's exactly why we think this should actually be real. The long search is finally over... ð± #FindMyBrick pic.twitter.com/3yBIPJ2OPk — LEGO (@LEGO_Group) April 1, 2019 Well, that wraps our list of April Fool's pranks. Of course, there were countless other pranks by the likes of OnePlus, Razer, Tinder, etc., but these are the ones which we truly wished existed in real life, especially the Nvidia R.O.N. and LEGO app.
  4. A few days ago, Netflix teased us with a post that something big is going to happen in 14 days. Netflix tweeted, "Calendar nikaal. Tareekh likh le. 14 din mein kuch bada hone wala hai." This one tweet was enough to send all the 'Sacred Games' fans in a frenzy and giving them sleepless nights wondering if season 2 of 'Sacred Games' is finally dropping. Calendar nikaal. Tareekh likh le. 14 din mein kuch bada hone wala hai. — Netflix India (@NetflixIndia) March 19, 2019 Today, just a few minutes ago, they dropped another major bomb on all the fans in a series of cryptic posts. If there's anything more powerful than "Sab marenge sirf Trivedi bachega", it is this announcement, "Bolo 'Aham Brahmasmi.' 6 din mein sab kuch dikhayi dene lagega." © Netflix If you look closely, you might realise that there's a major hint hidden in the post, about the second season that all Gaitonde fans are desperately waiting for. There are four pictures and each one have titles like Bidalah-A-Gita, Katham Asti, Antara Mahavana and Unagamam. So MAYBE, there will only be four episodes in the season, but we aren't sure about it. View this post on Instagram Bolo 'Aham Brahmasmi.' 6 din mein sab kuch dikhayi dene lagega. A post shared by Netflix India (@netflix_in) on Mar 26, 2019 at 10:31pm PDT But, you know what else is coming in 6 days...April 1 which is April Fool's Day. So, we hope all this hype does not turn into a prank that no one saw coming. We'll only get to know all this after 6 days, when they drop more details about the season or the whole season. All these cryptic posts and our increasing excitement make us wonder that "Kabhi Kabhi lagta hai Netflix hi bhagwan hai."
  5. In 2017, Marvel associated with the legendary singer Baapi Lahiri for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'. Well, technically Bappi Da aka the man with a golden voice and a golden wardrobe wasn't a part of the movie. It was his song 'Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba' that was featured in the trailer. Fast forward to the present and another legendary artist is all set to associate with the upcoming movie 'Avengers: Endgame'. Instagram Reportedly, Marvel and music maestro AR Rahman are teaming up to create a special anthem for all the Indian fans of 'Avengers: Endgame'. The song that will come out in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu will be releasing on April 1. We hope it's not an April Fool's Day joke. According to Hindustan Times, the Oscar-winning composer said, "Being surrounded by Marvel fans in my own family, there was too much pressure to come with something really satisfying and apt for Avengers: Endgame. I hope Marvel aficionados and music lovers enjoy the track." Marvel Studios With only a month left for the release of one of the biggest superhero movies, we desi fans can't wait to hear Rahman's 'Marvel'ous track and Thanos snapping his fingers to the tune. Directed by the Russo brothers (Joe and Anthony), 'Avengers: Endgame' is releasing in India on April 26.
  6. In an avalanche of political biopics this year, there is a new surprise entry which no one knew about. After 'The Accidenal Prime Minister' and 'Thackeray' creating a major buzz in the nation, the trailer for a biopic on Rahul Gandhi dropped today, completely unannounced. Before we even begin to dissect it, let's just have a look at it first. The trailer follows a young Rahul swimming while his grandmother Indira Gandhi looks upon him dotingly. It is established that he shares a very warm relationship with his grandmom and his father and the death of the PM affects him more than others. 'My Name Is Raga' Trailer Out: Rahul Gandhi's Biopic Unveils First Look #MyNameIsRaGa @RahulGandhi @INCIndia @WithPGV @rahulgandhi2020 @rupeshpaul @priyankac19 @BJP4India @AjayLalluINC @SaralPatel @Chiranjeev_INC https://t.co/jOavO0AOLD pic.twitter.com/erMQskqHap — News World India (@NewsWorldIN) February 10, 2019 The trailer then shows a caricature (if I may call it that) of ex PM Manmohan Singh and an agitated Modi Ji as well. We see the grown up leader form of Rahul Gandhi who ends up winning hearts of everyone. The trailer ends on a very vague note and while the acting and dialogue delivery is quite questionable, we wonder why couldn't the direction be a bit more serious? This looks more like a parody and that's exactly what social media is wondering about. Brace yourself, biopic on Rahul Gandhi is on its way. The trailer is terribly cheap, it's as poor as his political ability.. Such a third class making & what a director is chosen who has made legendary movies in the past. ðð #MyNameIsRaGa @RahulGandhi https://t.co/gUzml5VEe1 — Vikram Joshi (@vikramajoshi) February 9, 2019 Trailer starts with "tumne hume jeetna sikhaya hai"ð Is this movie made by @RahulGandhi haters to troll him under the pretense of a bio pic?ð#MyNameIsRaGa https://t.co/28x8JqR24d — Voice Noteswali Krutika ð¹ð (@certifiedKruti) February 9, 2019 People are wondering if this is some sort of an elaborate joke and if the movie is releasing on 1st April. When is it getting released 1st April 2019 it seemsðð https://t.co/OeKTyveCgM — RAKESH KUMAR SINGH (@Hanibals) February 10, 2019 Bahut ho ghatiya cast and dialogue delivery hai. Full paisa barbaad trailer and would be movie. Ye @RahulGandhi ko badnaam karne ki saazish hai. — तनà¥à¤®à¤¯ à¤à¥à¤¨ (@tanmaygoon) February 9, 2019 The man deserves better than this for sure. Let's just hope the movie is better than this trailer.
  7. In case you didn't know, the Golden Globes awards happened this morning. But who cares about anyone winning anything when 'Game of Thrones' fans ended up winning the entire thing. HBO released a 5-second video each of all the upcoming shows they have, and obviously GOT season 8 was a part of it. Just 5 seconds of Sansa Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow at Winterfell was all it took for the fans, who have been desperately waiting for the new season since the last one ended, to get even more excited for April and for the release of season 8. #GameofThrones returns to @HBO this April. pic.twitter.com/1muHcwJIFJ — Game Of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) January 7, 2019 The tiny sneak peek shows a pissed off Sansa Stark giving Dany major side-eye while saying “Winterfell is yours, Your Grace.” Honestly, I'm not even exaggerating when I say everyone is overwhelmed over this bare minimum footage that HBO has so graciously given to the fans. Everyone's screaming! I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING I'M SCREAMING #GameOfThrones #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/J4aJQsDxmX — Maximoff (@katnissenpanem) January 7, 2019 How to outshine an awards show. NEW GAME OF THRONES FOOTAGE THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! pic.twitter.com/Ys9y5lzHNP — osha (@oshawildling) January 7, 2019 HBO-Netflix romance is also there. I NEEEEEEED THE TRAILER SO BAD. COME ON ALREADY!!!! — Netflix US (@netflix) January 7, 2019 Everyone would look, tbh. Bird Box: one second of Game of Thrones season 8 footage Me: pic.twitter.com/qwKvPPr93c — Í (@sIytherinsss) January 7, 2019 Seriously, thank you. So the Starks spent years fighting to get winterfell back, then Jon just handed it over to Dany (mother of dragons) in one scene. Wow. I can see why sansa is not happy here. This is a mess, no matter how much we like Dany.#gameofthrones pic.twitter.com/KgZ7Rq25AP — BLJacksonð·âðð¤ (@JacksonBrittsny) January 7, 2019 Honestly, a mood. SANSA IS SO PISSED OFF, WHAT A MOOD #GameofThrones pic.twitter.com/w71PpnutUY — ella (@sanserya) January 7, 2019 It's the exact same thing. This is how Sansa handed over Winterfell to Danaerys in that new lil commercial ð #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/MPhtAGNF8g — Jazmine McCree (@j_jeanette14) January 7, 2019 Same. 8. For every heart that was broken when it was announced that 'Game Of Thrones' was taking a longer sabbatical and will not be returning until the third quarter of 2019, this is a sigh of relief. Everyone's favourite show is returning to our TV screens in April 2019 finally! Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death. All #ForTheThrone. pic.twitter.com/WReVt473SH — Game Of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) November 13, 2018 With winter finally coming back in our lives, fans are obviously excited. LITAF!! #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/MRxmQ1D4l6 — BillZzð¾ (@k_23patel) November 14, 2018 The sad news is that the final season will only have 6 episodes instead of 10 but the makers have promised that it will be worth the wait. People who are always quick to say "#GameofThrones is overrated" don't always have a better series to back their baseless argument. — Bhadmus Hakeem (@Bhadoosky) November 13, 2018 I am not a fan of #GameOfThrones and yes, it is overrated. Call your Police. ð¶ð¶ð¶ — Wale Adetona (@iSlimfit) November 14, 2018 What's so intresting in that #GameOfThrones i think d series is overrated. — Ridwan Damilola (@Damyte14) November 14, 2018 Who defeats the Night King, what is the fate of the dragons, will Khaleesi and Jon Snow unite in bliss and above all, who gets the iron throne? The plethora of questions have been piling up for way too long, and April seems like eternity.
