Actor Radhika Apte is not only known for her unconventional, brilliant roles, she is also known for never mincing her words when it comes to saying things, and she happily stays away from being politically correct. The actor was last seen in ok computer in 2021 has been missing in action. She has also starred in several films down South but her experience in Tollywood was not great. Back in 2018 when she appeared on a chat show, she opened up about her foul experience. View this post on Instagram “My first day in a Telugu film. There is a scene where I am lying (down), because I am unwell. There are a lot of people; everything is set. And the (male) actor walks in – and we’ve been rehearsing – he walks in… I don’t even know him, and he starts tickling my feet!” she further elaborated, “He was a big actor… I was told he is powerful. But [the person] who I am, I got up and I snapped at him in front of everybody – the whole crew, the junior artists, everybody. And I looked at him and said, “don’t ever, ever do that to me.” I was so angry, I told him “ever, ever!”. He was so shocked, because he didn’t expect that. But he never touched me again.” She also spoke about gender disparity in Tollywood and exclaimed that there is a big difference in how an actress is treated vs how an actor is treated. Whether it is her performance in Sacred Games, Andhadhun, Lust Stories or Badlapur, Radhika is considered an actor who takes her profession very seriously, by putting in stellar performances in films as well as OTT series. © Netflix Now, having been around in the industry for some time, Radhika once revealed having to do something very crazy to get the part in a Bollywood movie. Speaking to Neha Dhupia in an interview a few years back, Radhika opened up that the weirdest audition she had to give for a role was for one where she had to actually do 'phone ***'. "The weirdest audition was when I had to have phone *** for Dev D. I had to tie my hair or eat a lollipop or something. And I used to live in Pune, and I never had phone *** till then ever. But I did it and it was great fun. Although I didn’t get the part…clearly." said Radhika. Yep! That's right. The role was for the movie Dev D which was directed by Anurag Kashyap and had starred actor Abhay Deol. © Netflix The movie obviously went on to do very well at the box office as well as critically. However, unfortunately for Radhika, she did not get the part with the role eventually going to actress Kalki Koechlin. In the film, Kalki played the role of Leni who lands herself in the middle of an MMS *** scandal. © Netflix Later on, after the MMS gets leaked online, Leni's father ends up committing suicide. During the course of the same interview, Radhika also opened up on what happened in the aftermath of her leaked nude clip from Clean Shaven. “When a nude clip of mine leaked, while I was filming Clean Shaven, I was trolled badly, and it did affect me. I couldn’t step out of the house for four days, not because of what the media was saying but because my driver, watchman, and my stylist’s driver recognized me from the images," said Radhika. They shared one of the scenes from Parched. For the unversed, Parched was released in 2016 in India. But before the film would hit theatres, there was already a buzz due to a leaked n*de scene featuring Radhika Apte and Adil Hussain. People had the meanest comments to say to her and even landed up saying she has been promoting nudity and obscenity. One of the users wrote, “When it comes to Kathua entire #Bollywood gang was with Placard. During this time, a video from one of her movies, Clean Shaven got leaked. The movie was made under Ajay Devgn's banner and directed by Leena Yadav. If you take some of the best talents in the country, which includes names like the legendary Jackie Shroff, the super-talented Radhika Apte, the versatile Rasika Dugal and the brilliant Vijay Verma, and then claim to make India’s first sci-fi comedy series, then naturally the mountain of expectations is pretty high. © Hotstar OK Computer, helmed by Anand Gandhi, finally released after creating a lot of buzz and like an expired can of beer, fizzled out way too quickly as well. The reviews are out and mostly, the audience is not vibing a lot with this newly-released series. The story of this series is about the future. It is 2031 in Goa and a driverless taxi crashes into a pedestrian which then turns into a crime scene. The inspecting officers are robots along with some humans with Saajan Kundu ( Vijay) playing the cop. © Hostar Radhika Apte is a private investigator who researches the ethical treatment of robots. Jackie Shroff is Pushpak, who believes that humanity is being destroyed by technology. The veteran actor took method acting to another level by going au naturel for his role and baring it all. Also, interestingly, the victim here is called ‘pav bhaji’. © Hotstar So I feel that dystopian future is something that is not easy to portray on the big screen and perhaps the transitioning of scenery and plot depiction didn’t aesthetically appeal to the audience. So, while the experimental series was a great idea to dish out for viewers because we are hungry for good content, it is possible that the execution was something that got rejected by most people who set the bar of expectations too high. Chawla's upcoming crime movie 'Baazaar', which is largely based on stock market and the trailer of which just dropped. In case you're wondering, Netflix has no connection whatsoever with this movie (at least, not as yet). © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures To begin with, the 48-year-old actor is playing a Gujarati businessman called Shakun Kothari, who appears to be an intense and ruthless businessman who puts money above everything else and wants to make it big in the world. Looks like Saif Ali Khan has decided that he will rule the box-office this year with his kick-ass performances. Honestly, we got major Jordan Belfort vibes from Saif's character. This trailer belonged to him...and newcomer Rohan Mehra. Rohan plays Rizwan Ahmed, a street-smart young man who dreams of working with Shakun Kothari. Rizwan's journey and experience in the vicious business world weaves the rest of the plot. This tagline, "Bada aadmi bann ne ke liye, line cross karni padti hai" is surely going to be one of the most powerful dialogues of this year. The movie also stars Radhika Apte and Chitrangada Singh. According to reports, since the movie is based on the stock market, the trailer was launched at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today. 'Baazaar' is expected to release on October 26.
