  4. The Indian cricket fraternity is in recovery mode after the former captain of the Indian cricket team and one of the most successful leaders of the Indian Premier League, Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to step down as the Chennai Super Kings skipper ahead of the 2022 season. And while different people have different ways to cope with shocking news, the CSK manager Russell Radhakrishnan, who has been a part of the Chennai franchise ever since the beginning of the tournament in 2008, decided to tattoo an avatar of Dhoni’s on his arm and immortalise his legacy forever. Forever in my heart and my soul #Respect #myThala pic.twitter.com/iPLbph96I2 — Russell (@russcsk) March 24, 2022 The CSK official shared a picture from his official Twitter handle in which he can be seen showing off a massive tattoo-work on his skin. It is a carbon copy of the CSK logo. Underneath the logo are mentioned the years in which the team had won the IPL tournament. However, in this picture shared by Russell on the micro-blogging website, a little addition has been made. In what is clearly a lot more recent tattoo, ‘2021 Thala’ can also be seen on his body representing CSK’s extraordinary journey during IPL 2021 hat led to their fourth title in franchise history and all of them coming under the captaincy of Dhoni aka ‘Thala’. View this post on Instagram The rest of the CSK fans were highly impressed by Russell’s dedication and love for the franchise that he has been a part of for so long and wished him well for inscribing Dhoni’s name on himself for the rest of his life. But there were a lot of people who had no idea who Russell was. Watching the manager’s official Twitter account was verified, many believed it was the West Indies cricketer Andre Russell who had tattooed the CSK logo and made upgrades to it after Dhoni announced stepping down as the captain. 5. Tara Sutaria, who is happy with the positive response she received for Milan Lutharia's Tadap opposite Ahan Shetty, recently got a pleasant surprise after a fan got the actress' face tattooed on his hand. Well, fans sometimes do such crazy things to get the attention of their favourite stars. However, social media fans trolled Tara's fan because he was snapped with Katrik Aaryan too in a viral video, earlier this month. View this post on Instagram The exact reason behind netizens trolling the fan is because he used the same trick in Katrik's case as well. While interacting with the Pati Patni Aur Woh star, the young fan had flaunted a tattoo of Kartik's face on his chest. Yes, you read that right! At that time as well, people had called him an attention seeker. Well, he is the same guy and social media users have again called him out for using such tricks to get "attention". In the video, Tara is all smiles as she poses with the fan who is seen flaunting the tattoo. She sweetly thanked him for getting her tattoo on his hand. Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram As soon as Viral Bhayani, a well-known paparazzi, posted the video on Instagram, netizens started trolling the young guy. A user wrote, "He’s the same guy who got a tattoo of Kartik Aryan ! And now of her. People not realising it’s just a temporary tattoo and he is just trying to get famous". Another comment reads, "Bad obsession!! Is se better padhai karo, army join karo!! Inka tattoo banwa k kiya mila!" "Ye kuchh zada hi ho gaya," wrote another Instagram user. Here are the reactions: © Instagram © Instagram On the career front, Tara currently has Heropanti 2 and Ek Villain Returns in her kitty. While in Heropanti 2, she will be seen reuniting with her Student Of The Year 2 co-star Tiger Shroff, Ek Villain Returns also features John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, and Disha Patani in the lead roles. 7. On Monday, with the return of the Indian contingent from Tokyo Olympics 2020, also came back Ravi Dahiya, who bagged the silver medal in the men’s freestyle 57kg category as he went down fighting against Zavur Uguev of the Russian Olympic Committee in the final. And while his disappointment of not bagging the top-spot at the podium became a huge talking point highlighting the athlete’s fighting spirit, a more controversial story had taken place during his semi-final clash against Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev. In the semi final, when Ravi Dahiya was pinning his opponent wrestler #NurislamSanayev he started biting on his arm. " लेकिन दांत खट्टे कर दिए #RaviDahiya ने.. See the picture and share #Cheer4India #GoForGold pic.twitter.com/mXMXfgMHsu — KaviNeeraj (@kavi_neeraj) August 5, 2021 In the final moments of the match, the cameras had caught Dahiya’s opponent digging his teeth into the Indian athlete’s arm in desperation as he saw life getting squeezed out of him while being floored on the mat. Once the match was over and the referee was all set to raise Dahiya’s arm to signal his victory, a massive and rather unnerving bite mark was visible on his right arm, which began to get highlighted on social media channels from the next moment onwards. According to the rules framed by the world governing body UWW, the chapter Prohibition and Illegal Hold article 48 states that wrestlers are forbidden to pull the hair, ears, genitals, pinch the skin, bite, twist fingers or toes of their opponents. If found guilty, the wrestler can be penalised and even banned for participating in future events. However, it was ruled that Sanayev’s bite was unintentional and therefore the Kazakh walked away with a loss but without any penalty. View this post on Instagram Upon his arrival, Dahiya reveals to The Times of India how he dealt with his semi-final’s biting rival once the match was over: “When I came for the weigh-in the next day, Sanayev was already there. He came and shook hands with me. I greeted him too because I had already forgotten everything. He hugged me and said – ‘sorry brother’. I smiled and hugged him back. We are friends. We also shared a few laughs on other topics,” the Olympic medallist said. View this post on Instagram “I am happy with the silver medal, but I wanted to win the gold. Our wrestlers have won silver and bronze medals in the past and the only medal left to win was gold. I wanted to win that. For some time I was sad, but then I told myself that there will be the next time again for me,” Ravi Dahiya told TOI. “I am promising this – I will win a gold medal in Paris. I am just 23 and have a lot left in me. After going home, I will spend some time with my family and then will start practicing and get back to my daily wrestling routine. Paris is my next target,” he added. View the full article
  8. With Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma getting dismissed early in the math during the second ODI between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, skipper Virat Kohli shared the pitch with KL Rahul in the middle. Trying to establish a strong and long partnership, Kohli did not wish to take any chances of getting distracted or end up throwing his wicket off a poor shot because of external influences. View this post on Instagram So when England’s trump card Ben Stokes was given the duty to bowl to the two Indian batsmen, Kohli went on to request the all-rounder to remove the white sleeve he was wearing on his bowling arm which was merging in with the colour of the limited-overs ball. Being an elite-level batsman himself, Stokes understood Kohli’s concern and obliged without a revolt. He handed over his sleeve to the on-field umpire and went about doing his business at the pitch. © Twitter/England Cricket However, some of the fans of the England cricket team felt that Kohli’s request was too “bizarre” and felt the need to call him names for his actions. was that kohli complaining to the ump about stokes’ bowling arm sleeve? lmfao little bitch — who do you think you are i am (@charmada) March 26, 2021So India have asked bowlers to remove plasters from bowling hand. Fair enough. ....just about OK. But what's the umpire allowing India to get Stoke's upper arm bandage removed??? What if it was a long sleeve game? Would Kohli be asking for Stokes to take his shirt off??? — Ross Priestley (@rustybrass) March 26, 2021If Rahul’s allowed to ask Stokes to take his sleeve off, is Stokes allowed to ask Rahul to take his helmet off? Bizarre request. #INDvENG — The Googly Cricket (@officialgoogly) March 26, 2021As competitors, Ben Stokes and Virat Kohli have had numerous ‘not-so-friendly’ exchanges on the field with Kohli getting in his face on the field while Stokes deciding to take potshots at him during the post-match press conference. But considering how Stokes didn’t question Kohli’s request twice before acting on it shows that the ask was legitimate and well within his rights to do so. After winning the first match by 66 runs, the Men in Blue look to win the second of three matches for booking the series in their favour early on. England, on the other hand, will wish to win the match to give themselves a fighting chance of winning the series in the final match on Sunday, March 28. So far, India have won the four-match Test series between Chennai and Ahmedabad, and the five-match T20I series hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Kohli, who had struggled to put up runs on the board for long, rediscovered his form during the latter innings and went on to win the ‘Player of the Series’ award as well. View the full article
  9. Day 4 of the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy saw the Indian cricket team do some early and much-needed damage to the Australian batting lineup in the early sessions, dismissing the top order at 123 runs. Shardul Tharuk has been a vital cog of the Indian bowling attack in the second innings, dismissed opener Marcus Harris and remains one of the most economical bowlers for the squad. However, his bowling prowess isn’t the only ability coming to use for the Men in Blue in the second innings. In a Twitter post shared by cricket.com.au, Mayank Agarwal can be seen hilariously rubbing the red-ball against Thakur’s sweaty forearm after the latter had just finished his 11th over. Modern-day shining techniques Live #AUSvIND: https://t.co/IzttOVL3j4 pic.twitter.com/enApdJ7MTW — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 18, 2021 Under normal circumstances, fielders could use their spit to remove any dirt from the surface of the ball or for shining one of the sides to get swing in the deliveries. However, with the coronavirus pandemic still a critical global threat, cricketers have been specifically instructed to not use spit, a common carrying agent of the Covid-19 virus, on the ball in order to maintain safety inside the bio-bubble created for the athletes. Having said that, they are allowed to use sweat for similar purposes. But not all viewers were convinced that that’s all the Indian fielders were up to. Professor 🅺🅳🆁 (@KDRtweets) January 18, 2021The Indian cricket team has struggled to build a decent Playing XI for the Gabba Test. With the number of top-tier injured players in the dressing room now in the double digits, skipper Ajinkya Rahane had to dig deep into the talent pool to rope in important help. His call was answered by bowling all-rounder, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar, who have not only contributed with the ball, scalping names like Steve Smith and Tim Paine in the first innings, but also shared a heroic 120-plus run partnership in the reduce the gap against the Australian total significantly. In an attempt to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian cricket team will certainly require Washington to stay on top of his game and continue to deliver for the team in the second innings as well. 10. Rishabh Pant’s injury has become a big point of discussion in the latter half of the Border Gavaskar Trophy especially after he played the best red-ball innings of his international career in the second innings of the Sydney Test. Taking a blistering Mitchell Starc delivery to an unprotected left elbow while batting in the first innings of the previous Test, Pant was in visible pain and ended up throwing his wicket because of not being able to focus properly. Rishabh Pant has been taken for scans after having been hit on the elbow while batting. Wriddhiman Saha will keep the wickets for India.#AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/Ije2erkuzU — ICC (@ICC) January 9, 2021 Rushed to the hospital for scans and medical assistance shortly after, Pant had to sit out during Australia’s second batting innings and was replaced by Wriddhiman Saha behind the stumps. Under any other situation, Pant might not have been given the permission to be on the field considering the severity of his injury however, due to the evident loss of players and lack of good enough talent to even build up a decent Playing XI, the 23-year-old continues to play. Pictures and videos from Day 1 of the Gabba Test shows a loud and vocal Rishabh Pant keeping the wickets and keeping the morale of the rest of his teammates high. He is having fun, chatting with the Australian batsmen and is doing a good enough job gloving the ball so far. What nobody seems to notice is exactly how heavily padded up his left arm is. #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/Y6NY8kWGHj — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 15, 2021 Underneath his white uniform, Pant’s elbow is guarded tightly which can restrict the movement of the arm extensively, while making the wicket-keeper’s job so much more difficult. But the man doesn’t seem to be complaining. Even then, there have been certain fans on the opposite side of the pitch who continue to call him out for being a cheat and for faking injuries to get out of trouble. Weird to see him out there with the gloves. Guess it's probably harder to fake an injury before you bat — Jase (@JRumbol4) January 15, 2021But feigning injury so you can sub in a better keeper and then going out to bat 5 is well within the spirit of the game. — Maxwell Charles (@Max_well5810) January 11, 2021Ikr indians r clearly cheating and their fans are backing them — maxtreemax (@maxtreemaxtree) January 11, 2021 View the full article
