  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again secured the nation's throne with a thumping victory, as BJP single-handedly won more than 300 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. World leaders like US President Donald Trump conveyed his wishes over the phone and tweeted, “India is lucky to have him”. While some people are ecstatic about Modi's victory and are celebrating it the right way, some of his supporters are demanding that tech companies to immediately make the 'Lotus' emoji. Wow! © Reuters Yes, BJP supporters have decided to raise their voice on social media and are asking big names like Google, Apple, WhatsApp, and even Twitter to release a 'Lotus' emoji, which they can use to celebrate the party's historic victory and show their support. Dear @Apple & @WhatsApp We Indians want to see “lotus” symbol in emojis please - as soon as possible - its symbol of purity and today @BJP4India with its lotus symbol has purified #India from dynastic rule of @INCIndia (Like & RT to support please ðð») #ModiPhirSe — The Ordinary Indian (@i_m_tomorrow) May 23, 2019 This isn't the only tweet asking for a Lotus emoji, There are a ton of other users who are going crazy across different platforms demanding a 'Lotus' emoji. While we agree that there's no 'Lotus' emoji on Android or iOS at the moment, and we understand the enthusiasm, it's worth pointing out that it's not that easy to make and release an emoji. There's a huge procedure that needs to be followed for getting an emoji released for public use. It has to go through the Unicode Consortium, which approves reviews and approves only about 50-100 new emojis every year. Well, let's just wait and see if these companies can make it happen and how.
  2. It has been long rumoured that Apple will be bringing one of its most beloved features on iPhones, but it will be different from what we are used to. There have been previous rumours suggesting that Apple will include an on-screen fingerprint scanner on the next iPhone and the company's latest patent confirms the plans. It may not come as soon as this year's iPhone, however, it is expected to come sooner or later. (c) Pexels According to the latest patent spotted by Patently Apple, the company wants to embed a pinhole camera being the display of the smartphone. This camera will be able to create a 3D map of your fingerprint regardless of where you place your finger. The new feature will be an additional form of biometric unlocking and the company will not be replacing FaceID anytime soon. The two methods will make the iPhone even more secure as current iPhones only supports FaceID. (c) Pexels The more exciting bit about this patent is that Apple has shown pictures of a prototype, which means that the company is already done with the development process. The new unlocking method is expected to go into mass production by 2020 and will be a feature on 2020 iPhones. The new unlocking method is not the first time we're something like this as Xiaomi has also developed a version which works similar to Apple's patent. Source: Patently Apple
  3. Anand Mahindra is one of those few multi-million business conglomerates who are active on social media, engage with their followers and make it a point to post about things that are not just related to their industry and work. Anand Mahindra's Twitter account is flooded with hundreds of inspiring posts, and including letters, tweets and emails that people write to him. And obviously his followers love him for keeping it real as well as giving a damn about things at all times. © Reuters Last evening happened to be one such day when a letter from an 11-year-old girl would make Anand Mahindra's weariness from a tiring day vanish within minutes. He shared a letter from an 11-year-old girl called Mahika Mishra, who asked him to consider her suggestions and ideas for Mahindra Group's cars. At the end of a tiring day, when you see something like this in the mail..the weariness vanishes...I know I'm working for people like her, who want a better—and quieter world! ð pic.twitter.com/lXsGLcrqlf — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) April 3, 2019 In the picture shared by Mahindra, the girl has written, "I've a suggestion that you can only honk 5 times in 10 minutes and the honk will last only for 3 seconds. In this way noise will be minimised, and our roads will be quieter." The letter struck a chord with Mahindra and he wrote, "I know I'm working for people like her, who want a better—and quieter world!" Honking on the roads, often unnecessary, is a nuisance we all are accustomed to. However, this little girl decided to do something about it and reach out to someone who could make a difference to this situation. Whether her ideas are feasible or not is debatable, however we would love to see if Mahindra mamanges to come up with a solid solution to this problem. Twitter is loving the man for taking up Mahika's concern and considering her ideas publicly. This is a fantastic idea and thought. I think changemakers like you need to seriously consider implementing this — Saji Kumar Krishnan (@sajik_krishnan) April 3, 2019 Aapki to baat hi alag he sir..ð — Chowkidar Dheeraj sharma (@dheeraj8959) April 4, 2019 Depending on the initiative of Industry, we are fully equipped to make this kind of Horn which supports #NoHonking We can even make a Pre-Paid Horn filled with limited no. of blows. We at Hella will be proud to do so on your direction @anandmahindra , being your supplier partner. — Ramashankar Pandey (@pandeyrs) April 4, 2019 More than an idea the concern if the kid must be applauded. I also congrats young girl for such deep thought at this age. — Chowkidar Ajay Kr Rathi (@rathi_ajay) April 4, 2019 Touched by the letter !! Well said and explained the point on honking unnecessarily — mayank lunawat (@LunawatMayank) April 4, 2019
  4. For the most part, Ranbir Kapoor seems like quite a private person since he's not really on social media and isn't always directly interacting with his fans. Well, that's probably what he prefers, but it's a shame since we don't ever get to see his personal side more often and couldn't even tell how relatable he actually is. Until now. Today, when he arrived at the Mumbai Airport, he was obviously surrounded by paparazzi and seemed like he was in a fun mood since he basically started making small talk with the photographers present there. While walking outside, he asked one of them, “Yeh chappal kahaan se li?” to which, the photographer replied, “Andheri Station.” View this post on Instagram #ranbirkapoor says where did you buy these chappals? Next, I really, really want to see pictures of Ranbir going to the Andheri Station and finding the chappals, that would be hilarious. This is the type of quality content we deserve and even Anand Ahuja is enjoying it. The chappal is having a viral moment now. Probably the real reason.
  5. Looks like the 'Shaheshah' is looking for a job and before he can even find one, the 'Baadshah' has already asked him to recommend him for a job. Confused? We'll sort it for you. Two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, are now looking for a job. At least, their Twitter banter hints at that. In case you missed it, Amitabh Bachchan's 'Badla' that also stars Taapsee Pannu released yesterday. It has only been a day, but the movie has already stirred storm at the box office, thanks to the brilliant acting and storyline. 6. Well, you can hate them or love them, but you know you've never been able to ignore them because we've had no option but to keep up with all the Kardashians and the Jenners. The women from these two powerful clans have carved an iconic name for themselves in the world and Kylie Jenner has done much more than that, as she has basically created history. 7. Following a crazy bidding war last December, the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to enthral cricket fans as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening clash on 23rd March. With the opening match pitting two of the biggest cricketers Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni against each other, the fans have already begun placing their bets on their favourite team on the social media. Despite the general elections coinciding with the upcoming IPL season, the fact that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has carefully ensured that the matches are played in India, further cheered the home fans. With IPL 2019 just a month away, the buzz amongst the fans in anticipation of the upcoming season appears to be at an all-time high. ð¨ Announcement ð¨: The #VIVOIPL schedule for the first two weeks is out. One such hilarious incident has been brought to the limelight by Ishant Sharma's wife Pratima Singh on social media. After going unsold at the auctions last season, Ishant's improved performance with the Indian team in Test cricket helped him in finding a suitor in Delhi Capitals who fought with Rajasthan Royals in the bidding war to secure the services of the seamer for Rs 1 crore. But, while Ishant is busy preparing to live up to his price tag this season, his wife Pratima - a professional basketball player - has found herself tackling the absurd requests of fans. Log Tickets le liye phone karenge (people will call for tickets, Tickets maangege (ask for tickets), tickets - tickets - tickets," Pratima captioned the picture. With Ishant being one of the few experienced Indian players who'll not be seen playing in the forthcoming ICC World Cup in May, the Delhi paceman will be eager to reaffirm his credentials with a fine showing for his new franchise in the upcoming IPL season.
  8. Any sane person knows that sending unsolicited 'dick pics' is straight up sexual harassment, there's no doubt about that. Actually, every single person should know this now, especially after the MeToo movement, but I guess some people still haven't gotten the memo. Today, renowned journalist Barkha Dutt shared the screenshot of an unsolicited dick pic she received on Whatsapp. Yes, it was great for her to call out such creeps and it was the right thing to file a complaint and take official action. However, the problem that a lot of people are having with her tweet is that she seems to have politicised the rather sensitive subject of sexual harassment. Also, everyone's asking the same question right now- how do you tell someone's a nationalist by just looking at their dick? This is terrible @BDUTT. This man shd be caught and punished. Not sure how you could identify political ideology based on genitalia though? ð¤https://t.co/rfo7lw2pLr — Anuraag Saxena (@anuraag_saxena) February 18, 2019 We're all with her when it comes to calling out these horrible trolls. .@BDUTT is being viciously trolled. 9. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been adversely affected by the 14th February 2019 terror attack on the CRPF bus in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The loss of over 40 of India's finest and bravest soldiers in what is considered to be the biggest terror attack since Uri has left the Indian public in sorrow, sympathetic and irate. Amidst such times of chaos and upheavals, one must show as much support to the victims as they can. The idea of promoting yourself or your team should probably be the last thought in your head right now and the people seemed to feel the same way when they set the Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli, straight. While the world was mourning on the huge tragedy that took place on Valentine's Day, Virat Kohli decided to put out a couple of tweets asking his fans (essentially the entire nation), to vote for the Indian sports honours for the best cricket club and the best fan club of the year. While celebrities from all over the country including Priyanka Chopra came out to empathise with the families of the martyred jawans and the CRPF soldiers that were injured in the blast, Kohli's tweet felt ignorant, unsympathetic and really just out of place. Absolutely shocked by the attack in #Pulwama...Hate is NEVER the answer!!! Strength to the families of the martyred jawans and the CRPF soldiers injured in the attack. — PRIYANKA (@priyankachopra) February 14, 2019 My deepest thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the Pulwama attacks and their families. — Karan Johar (@karanjohar) February 14, 2019 There's no doubt that if the situation was even remotely different from what it is right now, Kohli's Twitter fans, all of 28.2 million, would have hopped onto the bandwagon to vote for their favourite cricket club and fan club in a instant as their leader had asked of them. But in the wake of something as devastating as the Jaish-e-Mohammed attack on J&K, the followers had to hold the torch for the Indian skipper to see things clearly, as they let Kohli know all about their displeasure with his tweets: This is what the cricketer had uploaded but later removed after getting a lot of flak: And here's how his agitated fans responded: Virat aapke team sea jo bhi aapka Social Media Account handle karta hai Wo Bahut Bada Pagal hai — Raja â¤ï¸ (@RaghurajPrSingh) February 14, 2019 Promotional tweet regarding sports honor awards voting. 10. No matter how many promises people make on a daily basis, we still have trust issues. Why? Because not everyone is as dedicated and committed as the Zomato's customer care team is, when it comes to building trust. Every foodie will relate to me when I say that we take our food delivery orders very seriously, more than anything else in life. So, it definitely is a huge deal if something goes wrong with it, especially when our money is hanging in the middle of the process. Recently, something similar happened to this guy who ordered food online and something went wrong with it. So, as expected, he contacted the customer care team and the conversation he had with one of the executives, is now making the internet laugh their hearts out. This picture was shared on Reddit. Reddit In order to ensure that he will get his money back, he asked the Zomato guy to swear on his mother's life, which we desi kids remember as 'Maa Kasam'. He said, "Maa kasam khao" and the guy happily obliged. Seriously, we don't know when was the last time we used 'Maa Kasam' to believe someone's words. Honestly, this is the level of commitment that we need in our lives.

  13. The very popular comedy group AIB is a bag of controversies, and once against it is trending on social media for all the wrong reasons. AIB comedian and YouTuber Utsav Chakraborty has been accused of sending sexually explicit and obscene messages and texts to women, some of whom were minor. It all started with a Twitter thread, where a female comedian shared stories of several women, who claimed to have recieved explicit pictures from the comedian. In fact, he has been accused of asking women for nude pictures too. Instagram She wrote, "I want everyone to know @Wootsaw is a piece of sh*t. He sent me a d**k pic, was creepy, then cried saying I'll ruin his career if I tell others." She further mentioned that she told "two of the most influential men in comedy in India" but nothing happened. Saw this on my tl. Also, until any result comes out from the investigation, they have delisted all the videos featuring Utsav, from their channels. Statement pic.twitter.com/eLpthXifwf — All India Bakchod (@AllIndiaBakchod) October 4, 2018 Screenshot Utsav hasn't been exactly silent on these allegations against him but he hasn't accepted them either. He wrote, "I don't know what to say here and fight back (or even if I should). Literally everyone I know turned against me and I don't blame them for that. But the whole thing is far more complicated than it appears." Statement 1/n pic.twitter.com/sIouz4UsaR — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 To be honest, from all accounts, I've been a piece of shit. And I will try to do everything I can work past that. There was no excuse. I know inconsiderate and entitled. Even in this narrative, when this whole thing started, I kept looking at myself as the victim. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 I tried to talk to Mahima (@agirlofherwords) & sort it out way back in 2016. She would have none of it and why would she? She has never known me in real life, and even if she did - how is that for a respite? Even if my intention wasn't to make her feel shitty the truth is, I did. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 And yes I did grovel. Tell her my career would be over before it began. That I have medical issues that I have to deal with for life. And those are expensive issues. But to use my illness as a crutch is stupid. But it's not like it's not relevant to this whole debacle. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 To me, getting nudes from a person was an instant rush. I was not in pain for that brief moment. Someone trusted me with that information. I would feel honoured and not ugly. But this caught me into a weird spiral. Where I would ask anyone who was nice to me in the slightest. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 How can I be a misogynist when I call it out constantly? Even if I was entitled I would think that life has been unfair to me, it gave me a disease without a cure. And I wouldn't give it a second thought. I would go from one painkiller haze to another and keep messaging. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 And as for asking for nudes from underaged people, I cannot and will not ever do that. The person in question can pull up screenshots and I would be proved forthright. But again, it doesn't mean I wasn't an entitled piece of shit who asked out everyone in his know. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 There were instances where I would have a long and intimate conversation with one person and then continue the same conversation with a whole different human being. I wouldn't realise till the other person pointed out. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 But now I know I have been the exact monster I've been trying to fight all my life. And I would like to do everything I can to make this better for everyone who has been hurt. Everything short of killing myself. And trust me, that has crossed my mind so often today. — Utsav (@Wootsaw) October 4, 2018 In fact, he has since posted a series of tweets where he tried to justify his actions and in all honesty we are equally confused and clueless like everyone out there.
  14. If you are a regular at the gym, you would very well know that injuries are a part and parcel of the game. If you have been training for more than a year without even pulling a muscle once, either you are a god or you do not train hard enough. Injuries can happen to the best of us and they suck because they make you quit something that you like doing. Getting back to lifting sooner than later depends on how quickly you get correct treatment from the person who is supposed to treat you. That person is certainly NOT your gym trainer. Now, I have seen trainers acting like physiotherapists claiming to know anything and everything about human anatomy and injury rehabilitation. No matter which gym you go to, you'll see trainers who cannot even pronounce the body part correctly trying to help people “stretch” their muscles. Especially when it comes to ladies, these trainers turn into physios, chiropractors, osteopaths and physical therapist, all wrapped into one. However, the fact of the matter is that you should never ever turn to your gym trainer for either advice or treatment when it comes to injuries. No matter how knowledgeable your train says or acts like he is, it is not his area of expertise and, in most of the cases, he won't have a clue what caused your injury. Treating it is a whole different ball game. They just do not know what to do. It is the same as asking your milkman to fix your car's engine. Every person is different, and thus every case is different. This means the tests and treatments that will be recommended will be different. © Thinkstock Images No, Even If He's A Certified Nutritionist He's Isn't Qualified To Treat Injuries Now, if you are thinking that your gym or personal trainer is “certified” and is somehow different from those “uneducated” trainers out there, let me assure you that he/she still does not have the expertise to treat an injury. It does not matter how many courses or certifications your trainer has amassed; he is still just a trainer which means he is an exercise expert and not an injury rehab or treatment expert. © Thinkstock Images How do I know this? Well, because I am a certified trainer myself and I know what my area of expertise is and what isn't. So, while I can spot a difference between a shoulder and a thigh injury, I do not know how to manipulate or massage any of those joints, and so no “certified” trainer in this world would know how to do that. What To Do When You Get Injured? If you get injured, you should go and see a specialist. By seeing the person or a therapist under whose area of practice your injury falls, you find out exactly what's wrong and what to do to recover and rehabilitate. Most therapists will be happy to pass on recommendations and corrective measures to your trainer. That way your trainer, who is an exercise expert, can help you do those exercises correctly.
