  1. The ICC World Cup 2019 has come to bit of a halt in the birthplace of cricket as the rain showers have decided to take over the tournament and ruin it for everybody from players to match officials to the fans. In the past four days, the viewers of the Cricket World Cup have only been able to enjoy less than a game and a half in total with some of the exciting contests being washed away, thanks to the non-stop downpour in the English cities of Hampshire, Bristol and Nottingham, one such matchup being between the two unbeaten teams of this year's tournament in India and New Zealand on 13th June 2019, Thursday. Ardent fans of both sides only got to their favourite cricketers in casuals rather than their formal jerseys and that too only when one of two players popped out of the dressing room to check the weather conditions before disappearing behind a door. © Reuters However, Indian bowling all-rounder, Kedar Jadhav did contribute towards the day by coming out of the dressing room and sending out a video message that has been making the rounds on social media ever since the covers were put on the field. Haha Kedar Jadhav asking rains from England to shift to Maharashtra ðâ¤ï¸ #INDvNZ #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/ZcdoKcypkT — Saurabh (@Boomrah_) June 13, 2019 In the video, the 34-year-old can be clearly seen begging the evil Nottingham rains to move away from the city and instead move to his home state of Maharashtra, which is currently facing immense drought conditions with only 7 percent of water left for consumption that has affected the lives of the locals living there. Jadhav was not only applauded for his quick wit but also the fact that he remembered the struggles of his people back home even though he is thousands of miles away. Boss for this tweet @mipaltan should pick you up for not less than 15 koka the next IPL... 2. Earlier this month, a heinous crime jolted the entire nation when a three-year-toddler was brutally murdered in Aligarh over a matter of a loan. Soon, a cry rose from across the country demanding justice for the little girl, and Bollywood joined the chorus. From Sonam K Ahuja to Rajkummar Rao, celebs took to Twitter to express their anger. However, some of the Twitter users pointed out the absence of Swara Bhasker, whose tweet was visibly missing the whole time. Swara, at the time the news was setting social media on fire, was on a break in Russia and her tweet on the matter came a little later, but it only ended up becoming fodder for trolls. "Just back From #Russia after a break. Including social media break! Aligarh news truly horrifying- the brutal murder of 2yr old #TwinkleSharma, devastating! Killers must be punished, a precedent set so that such a crime NEVER repeated. My solidarity, sympathy & support to the family,” read her tweet. Soon enough, trolls descended on her for not tweeting about it on time, as she has always been pretty vocal about such issues. Some users even attacked her for not using a placard this time, as she had done for the Kathua rape victim. One of the users tweeted, “Having trouble in specifying the religion of rapist like in Kathua case where u were very proud mentioning words "devi-sthaan" "Hindu" "ashamed". Aren't you ashamed now, where is your placard Mention rape happened during" Ramzan.” Check out some of the reactions: How social media break?? You kept on uploading pictures changed your dpð¤ Btw where is the Placard?? Written- I am Hindustan , I am ashamed?? Does the placard comes out when the victime is a Muslim and rapists is a Hindu?? — Riya ð¥ (@Red__Wine1) June 10, 2019 What a liar. I saw you post so many pics from your vacay. Here u r lying to us that u were on a break. Lol. Anyway..go get those.placards woman, u got some work to do now. Let me know if there is a candle light March? I think no movie of yours is coming. — James Bond (@007BondOffice) June 11, 2019 Yes. Swara did use a placard when she was demanding justice for the Kathua Rape victim, but one must keep in mind that at the time, she was also promoting 'Veere Di Wedding', a movie about feminism and women openly voicing the issues they had with society. Not just Swara, a majority of the main cast also posted messages with placards. While it is another matter altogether if Swara should have used a placard while addressing the Aligarh murder case or not, one thing is for certain: no one has to right to tell her in what manner she should or should not express her views, especially a bunch of nameless and faceless trolls. First of all, it is completely her choice if she wants to speak out over a matter or not. She is a celebrity, not a politician, and it is not her sole responsibility to bring about change. Instead of coming down on her, maybe the trolls should direct their time and energy towards questioning the concerned authorities over the safety of women and children in the country. What do you have to say about this? Let us know in the comments below.
  3. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is one of the most well-renowned engineering institutions of India and is known to add a little bit of fun to its gruelling study-structure from time to time, in order to prevent the students from getting overwhelmed. However, when the teaching staff of the Institute decided to add the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season to their end semester exam of Material and Energy Balances, IIT just became a lot cooler, in my personal opinion. The exam was held on 6th May 2019, that is a day before the playoffs of the twelfth season of the league began with the first match destined to take place between two of the most successful teams in the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The students were in for a pleasant surprise when the first question of the exam required them to hypothetically help the Chennai skipper make a crucial decision after he wins the toss. © IIT Madras The question read, “Dew can play a major role in day-night matches. Excessive dew in the outfield makes the ball wet. For spinners, the challenge is to grip the wet ball and get it to impart spin. For fast bowlers, it is difficult to hit the desired length. Hence, this can put the fielding team at a disadvantage. During IPL 2019, Chennai Super Kings are likely to play a qualifier at Chepauk Stadium on May 7. As per the weather forecast on May 7, the relative humidity in Chennai is expected to be 70 per cent. The temperature at the start of the game is expected to be 39 degrees. At the beginning of the second innings, the temperature is expected to drop to 27 degrees. Based on this info, if Dhoni wins the toss would you recommend batting or fielding first. Justify your answer.” Ever since the exam concluded, the question-paper went viral and ended up with the Twitter handle of the International Cricket Council, who even gave a shoutout to IIT Madras' Professor Vignesh “for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues!” Shout out to Professor Vignesh at @iitmadras for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues! Can anyone help @msdhoni and @ChennaiIPL make a decision before the toss tomorrow? (and show your workings ð) pic.twitter.com/8fp7rGI5BG — ICC (@ICC) May 6, 2019 Some of the other fans of the game, who did not have the opportunity to answer this question for marks, took to Twitter to do their best in helping Mahi make the decision: It's obvious whoever win the toss will elect field first. Dew will play crucial role , fielding second will definitely become challenging. Though Chennai has a spinning track , spinners in second inning will be in trouble to control the ball. Win the toss , win the match. — Patel Meet (@msp_011) May 6, 2019 @msdhoni will bowl first as the temperature is 39 in the beginning and in second innings it will drop to 27, hence major chances of due because of 70% humidity as the humid air will turn into water (due) on cold surfaces. — Durwas Mohite (@DurwasMohite) May 6, 2019 *Outside the box thinking* Since Chennai pitch is supporting spin and since we have quality spinners than quality pacers, it is better to chase. Bcz if dew comes, we will be in disadvantage. And even if dew doesn't come, chasing will be better for a heavy-batting unit like #CSK — Sai Krishð (@bsk5496) May 6, 2019 As the dew point is around 32 degree Celsius , by the time the second innings starts the dew would have already fallen ... Hence whichever team wins the toss should bat second !! pic.twitter.com/924JUEW3GB — The accidental researcher (@vijayathithan) May 6, 2019 I'd recommend bowl first, if there is dew on field, it is difficult bowlers to grip the ball and that will eventually help the batsmen.. So bowl first and chase comfortably!! — MSD Zealot! (@Vidyadhar_7) May 6, 2019
  4. There hasn't been a crazy PUBG Mobile news about people getting arrested, or someone losing their life playing the game in a long time. Yes, we thought the PUBG Mobile addiction storm had settled, until we heard the news about this crazy woman who's now seeking a divorce from her husband. Why, you ask? Well, it looks like he attempted to stop her from playing the game. As bizarre as it sounds, we hate to admit that it's a real thing. A woman in the UAE has sought a divorce from her husband over a battle royale game. Welcome to 2019? According to Gulf News, the director of the social center at Ajman Police, Captain Wafa Khalil Al Hosani told that they recently received this case where a woman in her 20s wanted to divorce her husband over not being allowed to play PUBG Mobile. Apparently, the husband noticed his wife's increasing addiction to the game. He then decided to stop her from playing it so she could focus on the family. The woman, according to the captain, justified her demand for divorce by saying that she was being deprived of her right to choose her means of entertainment. She said, “she derived pleasure and comfort from the game”. © Tencent She also noted that her game timings were well under limits, and she had disabled the chat option to stay away from strangers during the games. The man, however, maintained his stand and noted said he wasn't trying to deprive her of anything. He just wanted to take the necessary measures and keep the family together. He clearly didn't see the divorce coming, did he?
  5. Remember PewDiePie's 'Bitch Lasagna' and the more recent 'Congratulations' diss tracks against T-Series? Yeah, those videos have now been taken down from YouTube. Why? Well, T-Series filed a petition with the Delhi High Court against those music videos. The court reviewed the videos and found them to be offensive, following which it asked YouTube to pull them down. (c) Youtube According to a Bar&Bench report, the Delhi High Court gave strict orders to YouTube, directing them to remove the two songs published by Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie from its platform. “The interim order was granted by a Single Judge Bench of Justice Jayant Nath in a suit preferred by T-Series owner Super Cassettes Pvt Ltd., seeking to permanently restrain Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, from uploading the songs titled 'T-Series Diss Track/Bitch Lasagna' and 'Congratulations'," said the report. The High Court apparently found the content of the video and even the comments on the video abusive, vulgar, and also racist in nature. Hence, the court decided that it would be best if those videos were taken down.
  6. It's been three years since 'Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' and Zack Snyder is so done with people still asking for an explanation of one specific thing. Batman kills people and for him, that's that. No more questions, everyone just needs to find a way to deal with it. Recently, while answering questions about 'Watchmen', he also talked about how fans still come up to him to talk - or criticize - the dark tones of his movies and the fact that both Batman has killed people. For this, he just has one response - 'Wake the **** up and move on already'. Here's the actual quote, and boy he did not hold back. “Once you've lost your virginity to this fucking movie and then you come and say to me something about like 'my superhero wouldn't do that.' I'm like 'Are you serious?' I'm like down the fucking road on that. It's a cool point of view to be like 'my heroes are still innocent. My heroes didn't fucking lie to America. My heroes didn't embezzle money from their corporations. My heroes didn't commit any atrocities.' That's cool. But you're living in a fucking dream world.” Well, oh wow. Zack went the eff off! Obviously, this got a reaction out of people, some favourable, some not so much. Well, he sure did. Gilbert (@SpencerJGilbert) March 26, 2019 Well, you're not wrong. Zack Snyder: “That's cool. But you're living in a fucking dream world.” People Who Need Superhero Stories: “That's the whole idea, guy.” https://t.co/KdFWHzJ3Zn — Dean Trippe (@deantrippe) March 25, 2019 Yep. Zack Snyder talks a big game but not ONCE in any of his films did Superman punch someone into the sun — Cam Williams (@MrCamW) March 26, 2019 Good points are being made. I wish Zack Snyder would have woke the **** up and realized you can't just alter everything Batman stands for and think people will be happy. https://t.co/sveya9JN4D — Frederick Joseph (@FredTJoseph) March 26, 2019 Well. Batman intentionally going out at night to commit murder makes him just as bad as the psychos he fights. This change that Zack Snyder introduced was the first straw that ended up breaking the DCEU's back. — The Excellent Adventures of Eric (@EricShotFirst) March 26, 2019 Okay, then. I want to note that although Zack Snyder is wrong about every single other thing, he's definitely right about the silliness of a Batman killing prohibition in movies — Dad (@fivefifths) March 26, 2019 my guy is driving a car with tomahawk missiles on it through the middle of a large city. There's gonna be some casualties. — Dad (@fivefifths) March 26, 2019 I think you either get camp Batman or accept that Gritty Realism Batman has probably broken a neck or two — Dad (@fivefifths) March 26, 2019 There's more criticism. there's a difference between a sensible "death is an inevitable consequence of my war on crime" and snyder's "real heroism is shooting someone in the face" — b-boy bouiebaisse (@jbouie) March 26, 2019 I'd say logically, the lines are again kinda blurred to the point of ridiculousness when you're talking a guy who's blowing buildings up — Dad (@fivefifths) March 26, 2019 Which is wrong. that's fair! i just think that the problem with Snyder isn't that he thinks Batman kills but that he thinks the killing—and the violence broadly—is what makes Batman (or any superhero, really) heroic. — b-boy bouiebaisse (@jbouie) March 26, 2019 Save it. Okay, but did Zack Snyder not read Under the Red Hood? Like, the entire conflict of that story is that #Batman DOES. NOT. KILL. And before any Snyder fanboys come at me with "he used guns in the 40's" save it. — Ready for Bloodlines 2 (@deathandsaints) March 26, 2019 Exactly. which is why it is so important to him that he doesn't. Batman would rather see a maniac who killed, essentially his adopted son and maimed a friend, live to serve his code of not killing that he lets The Joker go... MORE THAN ONCE. — Ready for Bloodlines 2 (@deathandsaints) March 26, 2019 Probably not. Does Zack Snyder know Batman is pretend? — Benjamin Bailey (@BenHBailey) March 26, 2019
  7. It's a good day to be alive because we have a fresh new batch of tweets from Uday baba, who's done a good job in the past keeping us entertained with his witty (or not) Tweets. (c)Pintrest This time Uday Chopra was deliberating one real profound and existential question we've all tried to seek answers to, in the past. His question was pertinent to the fact that is it okay to not believe in God in a country that's always exposed to a great deal of religion, rituals, languages and mythologies that are believed to stand true. He tweeted his query directly to his Twitter fans and said: “Are we allowed to be Atheists in India?” Are we allowed to be Atheists in India? — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) 22 March 2019 Well, to be absolutely honest, that's a fair question to ask if you're thoroughly confused if a bunch of beliefs are thrown at you on a daily basis, when you know you don't want to be a part of them. It does leave someone who is conflicted about his or her views on religion and God, a tad confused and if they want to seek an external opinion, so be it! (c)Pintrest Upon reading Uday's Tweet, actor Farhan Akhtar gave his little witty remark, which was probably befitting to his question. He said: "God Knows", with an eyes rolled-up emoticon. God knows. ð — Farhan Akhtar (@FarOutAkhtar) 23 March 2019 Well, that's funny but Uday Chopra went on to deliberate a little more on the topic. He wrote: “People are fighting over each other's unproved imaginary beings and yet that's all ok but the moment one says I don't really believe in an an imaginary unprovable sky daddy, I'm the weird one.” People are fighting over each other's unproved imaginary beings and yet that's all ok but the moment one says I don't really believe in an an imaginary unprovable sky daddy, I'm the weird one! — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) 22 March 2019 Did he just call God 'Sky daddy'? Well, yes, people are fighting over the unproved, imaginary sky daddy and I am sure that's created quite a conflict in the actor's head as he obviously doesn't believe in a so-called 'sky daddy'. Here's a thought: you can hold a gun to my head a force me to believe in your god. I'll even say yes I do...cause let's face it I want to live, but how do you know what I really believe in my head? I don't think even your god knows, most likely cause it's imaginary — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) 22 March 2019 It's been quite an existential day to deliberate over certain dilemmas in Uday's baba life. Although, his point is fair and reasonable, it could have been better articulated we feel. Even so, his Twitter fans definitely replied to his Tweet and shared their perspective. If you are strong enough to handle dirty looks thrown at you or the frequent eye rolls, be one. — Varsha Patil (@DrVarshaa) 23 March 2019 Pick your battles wisely, some are not worth it. — Jolie Sohi (@jolie_sohi) 22 March 2019 Did you come to India today? — Sudip Dhiren (@sudipd_ABpos) 23 March 2019 Yes, we can be.. problem arises when we boast it!! ð — Murali Nair (@MuraliCRNair) 23 March 2019 under the current regime, you're not allowed to be anything but hindu — cool and good (@TheHedgehog123) 22 March 2019 You can be what you like as long as you don't announce it on social media! — Mini Ribeiro (@MiniRib) 23 March 2019 It is allowed but u'll have to be hard in listening abuses — Shubham Khandelwal (@shubham_2107) 22 March 2019 Well, this has been an entertaining thread Uday baba and we hope you keep giving us these small doses of thought-provoking conversations, every now and then.
  8. For all who swear by Uber India, another episode of verbal harassment killed the sweet joy-ride for a woman and her husband, who'd taken the cab on a hot sultry day in the national capital. The woman, Amrita Das, who is a Delhi-based-journalist, experienced lewd comments and misbehaviour from the Uber driver, while she and her husband were travelling in his cab. She took to Twitter to share her ordeal. © Twitter "Rude and creepy driver. I demand action. First, he refused to turn on the air conditioner, then says garmi lag rahi hai to aage mere godi me baith jao [If you are feeling hot then come and sit on my lap]. He also ended the trip, moments after starting to drive and forced me out. This is when I was with husband," she tweeted. @Uber_Delhi @Uber @Uber_Support rude and creepy driver. I demand action. First he refused to turn on ac then says garmi lag rahi hai to age mere godi me baith jao. He also ended trip moments after starting to drive and forced me out. This is when I was with husband. @DelhiPolice pic.twitter.com/qE40ib3B5d — Amrita D (@amritadas) 19 March 2019 And yes, Uber did respond to her Tweet but it was not the kind of response we were hoping for. They said: "We're so sorry to hear about this. Our team has recently responded via email. Please reply there if you have additional questions." We're so sorry to hear about this. Our team has recently responded via email. Please reply there if you have additional questions! — Uber Support (@Uber_Support) 19 March 2019 This isn't the first time an Uber driver has shown misconduct towards a female passenger in Delhi. There have been numerous cases reported of women being molested or being talked back rudely to, while riding an Uber. Just recently Mallika Dua encountered an Uber driver who chose to abuse her when she asked him to increase the temperature of the air conditioning. But this incident with Amrita Das is a new low altogether, wherein the Uber driver isn't just insulting her request, he's being lewd and inappropriate with her as well. Although, Uber has received the complaint, just like always, their complacency over this matter will also rule the roost, just like the rest of them have in the past. They probably won't take action against the driver and he'll carry on driving in the city, passing horrible remarks to other women who hail his cab. © Twitter The need of the hour is for Uber to step up on their hiring operations and also take vital responsibility towards several complaints they receive about their drivers. The drivers should be thoroughly scanned before they are hired and if they misbehave, they should definitely be fired, on the ground. We're not sure why Uber dictates such apathy towards these issues but we're hopeful they'll change their ways soon before something more drastic happens. Meanwhile, Twitter came out in support of Amrita and this is what most of them had to say: Worst part is..Uber doesn't have an emergency contact number in India.. happened to us as well...hope you are okay.. — Naren (@shipsdeet) 19 March 2019 This is serious. No response from @DelhiPolice @DelhiTrafficPol ? Don't hesitate in filing a police complaint. @Uber_Support Do you not verify drivers' credentials before hiring? @Uppolice and @uptrafficpolice also need to look into the matter, since the car has no. plate of UP — Half Expert (@akul_nishant) 19 March 2019 @Uber_Support Taking this particular driver as reference, I'd like to know how do you ensure something like this does not happen again? Is he going to be let off with a warning? Or sacked? Or sensitised? What are the concrete steps you're taking to make your riders feel safe? — Abhishek Sinha (@raptorhands) 19 March 2019 Sick and tired of @Uber_Delhi drivers. No action taken even after having multiple harrowing experiences. Sack this driver! — Dylan San Delo (@theparambhole16) 19 March 2019 Uber has gone worst in NCR. If u'd ask to turn on AC, they'll lecture you on whether. Cab drivers in their 'prime category' are even worst. — Piyush Hans (@HansPiyush) 19 March 2019 That's why girls still hesitate to travel alone.. When will this change ð — Divya Sharma (@DivyaSh92292336) 19 March 2019 Why @DelhiPolice u aren't responding U must learn from @MumbaiPolice who are prompt in responding to public calls, they respond to even every smallest tweet — âsâ (@arieotic) 20 March 2019 Sorry from @Uber_Support isn't an answer. @DelhiPolice must take action against the driver. https://t.co/ENCI3ty20t — Mohd Mustaquim (@Mustaquimm) 20 March 2019 This is genuinely a very common occurrence. Uber should definitely suspend such drivers. — AARUSHI005 (@Aarushiwith2As) 20 March 2019 The most pertinent question though is when will women feel safe in this city? Put aside single women travelling alone, even women travelling with male companions face such threats too. Unless Uber India decisively takes action against their drivers, the situation's not going to change for sure.
  9. "This is one of New Zealand's darkest days," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, as the country mourns the loss of people who were killed in the attacks on two Christchurch mosques. On Friday, the prayers of worshippers at a mosque turned into screams after a gunman mercilessly opened fire. According to the New Zealand Police, the death toll has risen over 40 and nearly 20 people have been injured. © Reuters However, this terror attack has landed famous YouTuber PewDiePie in trouble. Reportedly, out of the multiple terrorists who conducted the mass shooting, one of the gunmen live-streamed the attack and in the video he asked people to subscribe to PewDiePie. Yes, PewDiePie. The same YouTuber who has the highest number of subscribers and was recently in news for fighting with Ekta Kapoor on social media and competing with T-Series in the race for subscribers. "Remember lads, subscribe to Pewdiepie," the gunman reportedly said. © AP We're not saying PewDiePie is related to this attack in any way nor are we trying to troll or defame him. But, given his history of racist and controversial humour, people can't help but connect the dots. However, post the heinous attack and the mention of his channel in the live stream, PewDiePie has now reacted to it and says he feels 'sickened' that his name was uttered by the person. He wrote on Twitter, "Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch. I feel absolutely sickened having my name uttered by this person. My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy." Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch. My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy. — ƿ૯ωá«É¿à«¯Æ¿É¿à«¯ (@pewdiepie) March 15, 2019 According to a report in India Today, the gunman apparently visited 8Chan before murdering people on Friday and left this message there "Please do your part by spreading my message, making memes and shit-posting as you usually do." Our hearts go out to the families who lost their loved ones in this deadly terror attack and we hope that people of New Zealand get the strength to live through this dark time.
  10. Accused of corruption and spot-fixing in an internal inquiry held by BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit led by Ravi Sawani, during the sixth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013, S Sreesanth gets partial relief from the Supreme Court, that slashed the life ban imposed on the Kerala-born cricketer while urging the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) to revisit the punishment for his alleged crimes. A similar verdict was made public back in 2017 when a single-benched Kerala High Court which was spearheaded by Justice A Muhamed Mustaque, removed the BCCI-led lifetime ban on the pacer's cricketing career. However, the decision was reversed within two months as a division bench of the high court restored the life sentence following the Indian cricket board's appeal against Justice Mustaque's verdict. Now, after years of relentless appeals made by the cricketer to the Indian judicial system to override the Board's “completely unfair” punishment, the Supreme Court may have given him a second chance to make good of his career as an Indian cricketer. Having said that, the highest court of the country didn't fail to mention that they did not question the efforts put in by BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit nor did it challenge the authenticity of the findings made by the committee towards Sreesanth's guilt. "In the context of facts and manner in which these things have happened, this court should consider that it (life ban on Sreesanth by BCCI) is unfair. He has suffered for the last five-six years. People want him to play cricket. He was extremely loyal to BCCI," Sreesanth's lawyer and senior advocate Salman Khurshid, appealed to the bench. With Supreme Court providing the cricketer with a green chit to rejuvenate his cricketing career, the ball is in the BCCI's court. Having won the World Cup with the Indian cricket team in 2011, Sreesanth has often expressed his desire to officially return to the field. At 35 years of age, he even promised to give the youngsters a run for their money if the Board lifted the ban.
  11. Remember how much outrage there was when it became mandatory for all movie theatres to play the National Anthem before every movie? Well, Air India is also now doing something slightly similar. According to an Air India advisory, that was issued to all the crew members yesterday, they now have to say 'Jai Hind' with a “slight pause and much fervour” after every single announcement that is made. Yep. The patriotism is all set to take off. Air India crew now needs to announce "Jai Hind" on all its flights as per a new order today: pic.twitter.com/2Adtr34eTK — Tarun Shukla (@shukla_tarun) March 4, 2019 As expected, it got a lot of reactions online with people making fun of it, to straight up calling it forced nationalism. Here's what everyone is saying: Maybe. Now with this new move, I'm sure Air India will soon become profitable. Jai Hind! pic.twitter.com/5Am6UyiQPe — Harsh Goenka (@hvgoenka) March 4, 2019 Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also had some inputs. Air India announcements now end with "Jai hind" - was this always the case it is it new? 12. In a one of a kind incident, the first of five ODI matches to be played between India and New Zealand was temporarily halted as the setting sun was adversely impacting the batsmen's sight, causing them discomfort. Meanwhile in Napier...#NZvIND pic.twitter.com/3p5j18O3hg — ICC (@ICC) January 23, 2019 "The setting sun is directly in the eyes of the batsmen. So we got to consider the safety of the players, umpires. So we have decided to suspend play until conditions improve. This is the first time in my 14 years that I have seen something like this happen on a cricket field. Good news is we have 30 minutes extra time. We are hoping to be back in 30 minutes and it will still be a 50-over game," umpire Shaun Haig explained. The problem seems to be with the orientation of Napier's McLean Park cricket ground in which the wicket runs from East to West unlike a typical pitch running from North to South. After the match, when Bill Dalton, Mayor of Napier was asked about the uncanny incident by local press, he said: “To be absolutely honest with you, my view is that these guys are sportsmen who play outside. If they get a bit of sun in their eyes that's part of the game.” “It's an outdoor sport and they've got to toughen up… It's all a bit weird to me,” said the unsympathetic mayor. To be clear, the mayor was not targeting the Indian cricketers in particular. The decision to pause the game until sunset was that of both sides and Kane Williamson's silent agreement to the umpire's suggestion to delay the game was enough to prove the legitimacy of the issue. Clinical. #TeamIndia start off the series with a 8-wicket win against New Zealand in the 1st ODI. 1-0 ð®ð³ð®ð³ #NZvIND pic.twitter.com/P4lLKjoCvu — BCCI (@BCCI) January 23, 2019 The hold-up had little effect on the game as only one run and one over were reduced following the Duckworth-Lewis method. India won the game comfortably with eight wickets in hand while Mohammed Shami won the Man of the Match who scalded three wickets to become the fastest Indian to take 100 wickets in One Day Internationals.

Be it the Manyavar advertisements with her husband and Indian skipper Virat Kohli, or her long standing association with Pantene. We have also witnessed that Anushka has been very vocal about her stance on certain endorsements, and declining those that do not align with her personal ideologies. When Karan Johar told Vicky on the show, he pretended to faint in disbelief. But, during a recently held award show when he met Katrina, he made sure that he made good use of the opportunity and her previous confession. He further explained, "The season of weddings is on, so I thought, you too would want to do the same and so I thought I ought to ask you." Katrina, pretending that she didn't get his point, asks him "What?" and to this Kaushal asks her, "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?" with the song playing in the background. Katrina couldn't help but blush and replied, "Himmat nahi hai (I don't have the courage)." Instagram But, that's not the best part. All of this was happening in front of Salman Khan and his priceless reaction that was caught on camera, has left the internet in splits. Check out his epic reaction here. On the work front, Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for his next movie, 'Uri' which is based on Indian Army's surgical strikes. Katrina and Salman are busy shooting for 'Bharat'. Karan Johar and the sixth season of his show 'Koffee With Karan' should take immense pride in turning matchmaker for Bollywood celebrities. Karan's rapid fire questions not only compelled celebrities to be at their candid best, but also helped break the ice between the younger crop of actors.
  15. The latest season of 'Koffee With Karan' has seen some really fun celebrity pairings on the show, and the latest episode of Season 6 saw another such quirky pair of guests on the show. The episode which was aired last evening, saw Katrina Kaif and Varun Dhawan sharing the couch, and surely, the episode did live up to all the juicy scoops the promos promised. Amongst other things in the episode, such as Varun's 'I hate Katrina Club' and 'whether Katrina should marry Salman Khan', something else caught the viewers' attention. View this post on Instagram A post shared by koffee_with_karan_season_6fc (@koffee_with_karan_season_6fc) on Nov 10, 2018 at 7:48am PST With Tinseltown abuzz with the upcoming weddings of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as well as Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas', the latest episode saw Katrina Kaif admitting the fact that she's super excited about both the weddings, even though, as Karan rightly pointed out during the conversation that, she hasn't been invited to either of the weddings. Yes, very few other Bollywood celebs have been invited to the main event in either of the two weddings this season, but Katrina went ahead and admitted that “ "I'm really excited about all these weddings. I want to wear nice clothes and go to attend." © Star World She also added that, "I might not be invited for any but that's a separate thing. But in my mind, I'm looking forward to an invitation." Which only proves that her excitement is for real, and she is looking forward to some of Bollywood's key players tying the knot this year, whether or not she's there to witness it. The playful banter coming from Katrina is very much like her. Speaking her mind and letting the world know that invitation or not, best wishes and positivity weigh much more during such important moments in a couple's life.

While his announcement was met with thunderous applause, people on Twitter seemed to be divided about the second renaming in the state. While a lot of them are applauding the CM for this change, others are questioning whether renaming places is the only thing he does! Here are some of the reactions: Ok...another one now from Ajay Singh Bisht ( Naam Parivartan wale ) ... Faizabad will be known as AYODHYA from now onward . Utter stupidity technically . 17. Not too long ago, an Indian sportsperson made an emotional appeal when barely 2000 people showed up to watch him and his team play against Chinese Taipei (which India won by 5-0). Yes, you guessed it right! We're talking about captain Sunil Chhetri, who urged his fans to come and see the match and said, "Abuse us, criticise us but please come to watch the Indian national team play." © Twitter People were so moved by his appeal that the subsequent matches against Kenya and New Zealand were sold out. At times fans' support is all that our sportspersons need to boost their morale and we've already seen the amount of difference fans can make in the lives of their favourite players. Fast forward to the present time and another captain has now urged his fans to never give up on him and his team. We're talking about Indian skipper Virat Kohli who posted an emotional message on social media, after the Indian Cricket team lost against England second time in a row, in the ongoing Test series at Lord's. England won by an innings and 159 runs. Reportedly, it was the first innings defeat since the Oval Test (2014) and the first-ever innings defeat under Kohli's Test captaincy. © Reuters Victory or loss is part and parcel of every sport and owning up to it and taking a lesson from it is one of the hardest things to do and possibly the best way to go about the defeat. And Virat Kohli who is known for unabashedly expressing himself, did not shy away from facing defeat and wrote this message, which will make every fan fall in love with him all over again. He wrote, "Sometimes we win and other times we learn. You never give up on us and we promise to never give up on you either. Onwards and upwards." While people are busy bashing Kohli and his strategies, let's not forget that Kohli is standing against the English players like a wall and putting a tough competition in front of them. India will be playing the third match on 18th August at Trent Bridge.
