  1. I basically covered this in the first part of this article. Yes, no one likes getting rejected, but also literally no one can ever avoid rejection in life. The most important thing, though, is how someone reacts to the rejection. We're not talking about serious rejections in life today, but rather how fast some guys change colours as soon as they get rejected. All the self-proclaimed 'nice guys' who think that women don't like them because they're too nice and women always end up choosing the jerk, we're talking about them today. As a way to call out guys who just turn hostile after no reply from the girl, or just getting rejected, a Twitter account is here to talk about everything. The account called 'She Rates Dogs' posts a bunch of screenshots that they receive and rates the guys, which is usually in the minus, of course: 2/10 for the determination, -2/10 for the creepiness When you block him so he makes fake Instagram accounts to try to get you back (-1/10 dog) pic.twitter.com/5ENqsbkxV0 — SheRatesDogs (@SheRatesDogs) December 18, 2018 Do people not know what a left swipe on Tinder means? 2. India is a rich land of culture, multiple languages and even better food. Now, the government is trying its best to ensure that every sort of tourism and every cultural aspect of this melting pot of our rich history is glorified and promoted. So, as per the latest plan of schemes, the government wants to focus on the development and the promotion of the beautiful Urdu language in India, and to do this, it is tapping into the power of Bollywood with SRK, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif being considered to do the needful promotion. © Instagram The decision is being steered by the Ministry of Human Resource Development's autonomous body National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) but the people of the nation are divided over it. A lot of people are opposing this idea, trashing it and ridiculing the actors, claiming that having Salman and Katrina promote Urdu is like ensuring it dies a natural death. Katrina Kaif promoting Urdu! This has to be the biggest joke of 2019 https://t.co/xVLO9S2oFa — Iqbal Grewal (@IqbalGrewal1) March 18, 2019 Didn't know Katrina Kaif spoke Urdu,, let alone promote it... https://t.co/b1cwc4gfJd — shantanudutta (@shantanudutta) March 18, 2019 Now, the problem with trolling is that the target here are the actors who have not given a final word, made no announcement or even endorsed this idea on their own personal social media accounts. Sure, we are all entitled to have an opinion and this is a fair point that just by the virtue of being a Bollywood actor, it doesn't mean that they can actually promote a language, which they probably don't even speak themselves. However, trolling them to be the choice of a decision-making body is actually silly. While various memes and jokes are being generated on social media, there have been some sensible internet consumers who have tried to understand that a Katrina Kaif or a Salman Khan is not a problem , but maybe the people choosing them are making a weird decision, which is not suitable for Urdu lovers across the nation. © Instagram Some people have very respectfully suggested the name of Javed Akhtar and even Salim Khan (Salman's father) to be the endorsers and that makes perfect sense. So the next time one decides to troll, maybe it will be a good idea to think twice before doing it?
  3. Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 crashed soon after taking off on Sunday morning from Addis Ababa killing 157 people onboard. The plane was enroute Nairobi, Kenya and last contact was six minutes after take-off. The flight was operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8 and the aircraft was delivered to the airline just a few months ago. Aviation is considered to be among the safest industries for decades and the crash of a brand new jet is alarming. Just five months back, another 737 MAX 8 operating for Lion Air crashed into the sea off the island of Java shortly after take-off, killing all 189 people onboard. Two crashes of the same jet within a short span has gotten everyone worried and Boeing, along with local regulators are scrambling to find answers. © Reuters Boeing's safety record is now under serious threat and with hundreds of MAX 8's flying all over the globe, airlines aren't keen on operating them until proper investigations are completed. The circumstances of the two crashes remain under investigation, and Boeing has presented no evidence to suggest the two disasters are linked. The similarities may be a coincidence. Ethiopian Airlines has grounded its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet until further notice. The airline has a reputation for being one of the best airlines in Africa. It has a good safety record and the newest fleet of planes on the continent. © Utkarsh Thakkar / @vimanspotter (Ethiopian Airlines A350 in Mumbai) In India, Jet Airways and Spicejet operate the MAX 8 and Spicejet is operating them normally (13 in fleet) based on the schedule. Jet Airways is undergoing a period of financial instability and FlightRadar24 suggests it has temporarily stopped operating them (5 in fleet) for weeks due to payment issues with lessors. The narrow-body Boeing 737 has been a workhorse on short- and medium-haul flights for decades. Thousands of 737 NG (737-700/800/900) continue to fly with a spotless track record. The MAX 8 is an improved version with better engines and increased cabin comfort. The planemaker is expected to build 59 MAX 8's every month this year. Jet Airways has ordered 225 of these, followed by Spicejet at 200. © Utkarsh Thakkar / @vimanspotter India's aviation regulator DGCA has sought information from Boeing after the Sunday crash. "A Boeing 737 Max aircraft flown by Ethiopian Airlines has crashed. Our two airlines (Jet Airways and SpiceJet having these aircraft) and DGCA officials are in touch with Boeing for information. Further safety measures shall follow that," DGCA chief B S Bhullar, told the Times of India. China's civil aviation regulator has ordered all Chinese airlines to suspend commercial operations of MAX 8. Chinese airlines currently operate 96 MAX 8's. No other country has grounded the aircraft completely yet, but airlines say they are closely working with Boeing and monitoring their fleet.
  4. If you're a big Marquez fan, like me, then the headline has probably already left you beaming with joy and with a little bit of scepticism of 'but how'?. Well, it's true. Netflix is officially turning celebrated author Gabriel García Márquez's iconic work '100 years Of Solitude' into a legit series. The best part about this development is that the project will be helmed and produced by his sons Rodrigo Garcia and Gonzalo García Barcha to ensure that the authenticity of the series is maintained. "For decades, our father was reluctant to sell the film rights to Cien Años de Soledad because he believed that it could not be made under the time constraints of a feature film, or that producing it in a language other than Spanish would not do it justice. But in the current golden age of series, with the level of talented writing and directing, the cinematic quality of content, and the acceptance by worldwide audiences of programs in foreign languages, the time could not be better to bring an adaptation to the extraordinary global viewership that Netflix provides. We are excited to support Netflix and the filmmakers in this venture, and eager to see the final product”, Garcia said. © Twitter The iconic and timeless tale of complex emotions embedded beautifully, showing through various character is probably his best work. The book follows the Buendía family which lives in the fictitious town of Macondo. Marquez was known for infusing the techniques of magic-realism in his work and bringing characters to life with his sheer brilliance. There is no official information on the cast and crew, but we trust the makers to do a fine job and do justice to one of the finest literary works ever.
  5. After 'Gully Boy' happened, a number of artists came under the limelight - some for their acting chops, and some for their rapping gift. While Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Varma fall under the former, rappers like Divine and Naezy belong to the latter. One cutthroat rapper in particular who made the headlines, more so because of 'destroying' Raftaar in a rap battle, is Emiway Bantai. While people can't stop praising his fierce rap game, most don't know that his style game is inimitable as well. Here are 10 pictures which prove that. 1. 6. In a prime example of why and how politics adversely affects sports, the Pakistan blind cricket team found themselves stranded in Sri Lanka after they swept the ODI series clean (3-0) on their tour to the island nation. Blind Cricket Series: #Pakistan beat #SriLanka by 8 wicketshttps://t.co/4rclv6qZDa ððð — Radio Pakistan (@RadioPakistan) February 21, 2019 Due to the ongoing political and military tension between India and Pakistan, the Sri Lankan Airlines cancelled all flights going to the city of Lahore. As a result, the blind cricketers of the country are unable to go back home and are involuntarily bearing added expenditure due to the extended stay. “They have been forced to stay longer and also have to pay additional expenditure,” Chaminda Pushpakumara, the manager of the blind cricket team said. Even though the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council has requested the Sri Lankan government for assistance, the financial toll of the athletes, who earn a fraction of what the visually-able cricketers make, has been immense. As admitted by Pushpakumara himself, the visiting athletes had already paid for their flight tickets to Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the escalating border tensions have also led to the Pakistani government shutting down their entire airspace and cancelling all domestic and international flights, as a result of which players are finding it extremely difficult to travel to different cities for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Every PSL match that was scheduled to take place in Lahore too, has been moved to Karachi. This is why even the notion of war is always a bad idea. While the militaries are at each other's throats, it is the common and the unprivileged people who lose their lives or livelihood and are branded under “collateral damage”. If the people halted in Sri Lanka belonged to the country's national team, it still would not have been that concerning keeping in mind the fact that they are well paid and can afford additional expenditures, but our hearts go out to the these athletes who have been stranded on their own in a foreign land, without any information of what is going on in their nation where they have family.
  7. 'Gully Boy'opened to rave reviews and immense appreciation, both at the box office and by the audience. While it was already expected that Zoya Akhtar'storytellingng will kill it with the brilliance of Alia and Ranveer mixed together, what really stood out as a brilliant surprise was the character of MC Sher, played by actor Siddhant Chaturvedi. However, like most successful stories, Siddhant had his own share of blows and lows to reach where he is right now. He shared his story of how acting happened and what all he traded on his way up to reach this juncture with 'Humans Of Bombay'. View this post on Instagram “My father has always been fond of Cinema, so he'd take me to watch movies every Friday & my love affair with Cinema began. My dad would play Salman songs on tape & I'd dance! I even had Shahrukh's 'COOL' necklace! I was always inclined towards art-the first poem I wrote was for a girl in 9th grade. She turned me down, but I continued writing, not knowing where it'd lead. Still, my primary career option was to become a CA, like my father! So I studied, never once thinking about acting. That seed was planted when in college, I got into the drama team. I realised I loved it! But I had to leave it to focus on my CA exams. Between college & my classes–I barely slept! If you ask me, what my biggest achievement is–it's not acting. I knew I'd achieve that, but it's passing my exams, because that's something I never wanted to do. Later, before my finals, I asked my dad for time to focus on acting. I'd go with my friends to auditions. In my first audition, they told me to 'learn how to look at the camera first & then come back.' But through it all, my dad was my true MC Sher. He said, 'be patient & don't undersell yourself ever, to always chase my dreams & he'll give me food & a roof so that I could do what I wanted. He gave me the freedom to decide & dream. So after 4 years of struggle, with more auditions & more rejections, Inside Edge happened. Because the makers had a vision which my talent fit into! After which– I met Zoya Akhtar at the success party & danced with her on Gallan Goodiyan. As fate would have it, she asked me to audition for Gully Boy, for the role that changed my life. After the release, I received a letter from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan himself & when I handed that over to my father, the biggest Bachchan fan, it was the best moment of my life. His face said it all. 8. Since we live in more tolerant times where relationships are concerned (or so I'd like to believe), a lot of people are choosing to make peace with their past. That's mostly because the world is shrinking and social media's unprecedented outpour of information really never lets you forget things. So, in order to keep your mind more sane and calm, it's only relevant to make peace with your past and by past, I mean your 'ex'. © Pintrest Most of you would want to loosen up the knotted ties between you and your ex and the reasons could be many. You could either want to shed away all the malice you hold for one another, or you still want them in your life because inherently they are good people or you still may have feelings for them, in which case, it's better to let go than figure out ways of having them in your life. But if the first two reasons are keeping your thoroughly confused then we have ways to make sure you have a healthy relationship with an ex. Here are 5 ways to keep in mind if you're looking at refreshing ties with an ex: (1) Are They In The Same Place As You? Yes, I know this is an obvious point to ponder over, but we seldom think what the other person wants in order to satiate what we want. So, the first step is to ensure your ex wants to be friends too. Because if she doesn't, then you really can't force free will can you? You can just wish them luck and hope they're happy. © Pintrest (2) Can You Trust Them Again? If you guys ended on bad terms then you have to think about how you want to go about this. If she did something to break your trust, can you accommodate trust in your equation, again? Of course, it wouldn't be in the same capacity as before, because you're not trying to get back together, you're trying to be in a good space as friends. So, if you trust your ex enough to not engage in any negativity or turn around and start a fight, then you should go ahead with it. © Twitter (3) Do Either Of You Have Feelings For Each Other? This one's a tricky one only because you may think you're over her, but you're really not and that can be a bit blurry while you're making a decision to keep in touch with her. Maybe sit down and give it a thought about your feelings for her. If you think they haven't changed since you started seeing her then maybe give it some time. © Pintrest (4) Do You Hold A Grudge? You can hold a grudge against your ex for a number of things, that is why she's your ex, to begin with! But if the grudge is minor and not too vicious then perhaps you can work on letting it go, if you think friendship with her is absolutely worth it. If it's a major grudge and cannot be reversed, then there isn't a point in looking out for any association, because you'll never be able to let the grudge really go. © Eros International (5) Have You Had Enough Time Apart? It's practically impossible to extend an arm of friendship when you've just broken up. Ideally, it takes about more than half the time you've spent with your ex, to maybe be friends with them, after you two break up. If you've never been friends before then it's a tad tough and only time apart can make that possible. So, take some time away from each other. If the break up is mutual and amicable, then definitely take time away and start a new association as friends. If it wasn't an amicable break-up, maybe take a lot more time away, get rid of the negativity you hold against them and try again. © Pintrest Break-ups are fairly hard but if two people are ready and willing for a resolution and want to take the dynamic from a negative to a positive by starting a brand new friendship, there are ways you can work things around and move away from the bad things that have happened and be good friends with your ex.
  9. February seems like a dreaded month. The month of love. Dreaded, if you have no one to share it with, and the most fabulous one if you are in love. Being single is never a piece of cake, is it? Especially around Valentine's Day which seems to be growing grander, as if on steroids, with each passing year. via GIPHY Somehow, with each year that goes by, the definition of being single is changing and evolving. It is no longer that sequestered thing, a fact to be hidden away, a status to shy away from, a shameful condition. But is it as good as it looks? We are in the 21st century, the world is constantly altering, yet people still seem to have a terrible problem with someone who is single. via GIPHY If we look closely, being single in 2019 is better than doing so in say 2009, but the stigma attached to it is still a long way from being completely eliminated. According to popular perception, being in a relationship has always been the celebrated goal of one's life. © Fox Searchlight Pictures In today's whirlwind world fueled by social media, the relationships that people have seem to be just for the sake of Instagram and Facebook. It doesn't matter how much love there is, the more important factor is the number of likes and comments it gets. Apparently, in today's era, the number of likes decides your compatibility and the length of your relationship. Being in a relationship has become a fad, a status symbol, something to be flaunted or people won't believe you. It is a world where you put up a mushy, cheesy, romantic message for your current S.O. which garners a lot of social media validation and then changes once the relationship comes to an end; either the message gets erased or the name of the person in it changes. via GIPHY Has the meaning of love changed in 2019? Look around you. People hook up and break up in an instant, their relationships change more frequently than Katy Perry's hair colour. Relationships today seem to have lost their meaning; we flit from one to another like a bee collecting honey. Maybe, we just don't want to be alone. via GIPHY Today, two people know that there's a certain expiry date to the relationship. Everything does. It is a deal; you get someone to hang around with for a few days and they do the same. No matter how short or bad it might be, we are jumping from one relationship to another. Just for the sake of it. But aren't we selling ourselves short? It feels realistic to start a romance knowing that nothing lasts forever but not giving ourselves the benefit of the doubt is what is making us unhappier. © Focus Features Why can't we let ourselves be? Maybe breathe a bit before launching ourselves into a new relationship just for the sake of it. Are we really that lonely that we need constant attention from others or someone to give us a sense of approval all the time? The constant pressure to be seen with someone, to seek love from someone is enveloping our lives; when was the last time you had a conversation with yourself? via GIPHY Yes, I get it, it is one's own life, we can live it any way we want but shouldn't we stop and ponder a bit on whether that is how we are living it or is it the way someone else wants us to live it? A “Couple” Thoughts! “How are you still single?” Heard it somewhere, haven't you? © Pinterest Being single is a choice. It is as simple as that. By your own choice. © Universal Pictures Chances are that if you have been single for a long time, you must have heard whispers all around you; mellow ones which hush when you appear, louder ones which are blatant and acerbic and are mostly from people you know. Sometimes, the people closest to you can hurt you; your relatives with their constant hankering and hounding about your personal life, that best friend who unintentionally judges you, or that friend who changed once they got into a relationship. You must have observed it in your friends. Once a person begins to lead a “couple” life, their opinion about single people completely changes. We all know “that couple” who believes that marriage and kids put them on a pedestal; a higher one than people who are not engaged with someone. via GIPHY There are all sorts of people out there. Over the years, I have come across a lot of people and I, being the organizer that I am, have categorized the couples into three groups: 1. The Power Couple: I have a lot of friends who are in a relationship; some slyly let that fact rub into other people's faces. via GIPHY If one is happy being a couple, it's fantastic but it is hardly veracious for anyone to force one's happiness on other people who are not as fortunate as they believe they are. These “power couples” constantly crop up in your social networking feed with their numerous (way too many posts than normal) mushy romantic photos and articulate posts or just can't seem to keep their hands off each other in someone else's presence as well. My advice: a) Get a room; b) tell me the name of your Internet service provider ( because posting cutesy stuff from remote areas is a feat in itself) Love, like air, is a feeling; not seen or heard but felt with the heart. 2. The No-Nonsense Couple: Just like everything else, people also come in good and bad. I know a lot of couples who are the best people I have ever met. Unlike the prior set, they do not judge you for not having a significant other and are not coercing other single people to get married or rush into a relationship just for the sake of it. The goodness of their hearts doesn't need the constant validation of other people or social media. Nor does their love. via GIPHY 3. The Do-Gooder Couple: Which brings me to those couples who think it to be their personal Hercules' Labor to find someone for their single friend. They keep on telling you how fabulous and marvellous it is to be in a relationship; to be able to share your life with someone you love. via GIPHY Guess what? We'll figure it out. Whether one needs to be in a relationship or not is a decision only one can make, so thank you for all the help and all your good intentions but we would love it if you channelled your goodwill somewhere where it is actually needed like saving the rain-forests or conserving water. :P This patronizing just makes you annoying. If these couples did this out of the fondness for a single person, it wouldn't be a problem, but they do it to feel good about themselves. The Present Dear Single People, When was the last time you received a present from someone? Just like that, out of the blue. Still thinking, right? Other than your birthday, a person who is single never gets any presents or gifts. What about the money you spend on the gifts for other people: on someone's bridal shower, bachelor party, birthday, wedding, engagement, the list goes on? What does a person who is single get from other people? Quick math. Just do a round-up of the gifts you have bought for a friend; a friend who you won't meet often or one who won't return the gesture by being gracious enough to apologize for a mistake. Surprised? via GIPHY We all spend a lot of money just to be cordial and be in tune with the societal norms. We don't get a gift for celebrating all the right choices we have made, do we? No one gives you a present for being a good friend or a wise advisor or not falling for the wrong person. (And you shouldn't expect it as well.) I know, calculating the amount of money you spent on gifts is an abomination. Ah, so materialistic! No one asks you to pay a certain amount for giving away presents but still, gifting being the social convention, we adhere to it. And to be completely honest, who doesn't like receiving presents? But isn't it being pragmatic, to see how much you have spent on a person and will that person return the favour? We all do this, don't we? We gift people things but hardly ever do we estimate the cost of the gift. I do not say that we need to give over-the-top gifts to everyone, but we should factor in the relationship we have with the person. It may sound wrong, but in the long run, it helps. Why be disheartened by giving a person something of value and get nothing in return? Would you give away a part of your body to someone for free? Judge-y Judgerson! For a society which takes years together to give out a fair verdict on cases, we don't take more than a jiffy to judge someone and the choices they make. We all judge other people, all the time. I do, you do, we all do. It is human nature. The people who say that they don't judge anyone are lying (because they judge you for judging someone else :P). People will judge you no matter what you do. Single? Judging you! via GIPHY Committed? Judging you! via GIPHY Married? Judging you! via GIPHY Marriage or getting into a relationship doesn't mean getting tied down. It just means that you have found another person whom you have chosen, who understands you and respects you for the fact that you are your own person. Just like being single, having kids; getting married; being in a relationship are individual choices. None of it makes you better if you choose to do one of these. Yes, demeaning someone because of the choices they have made does make you an atrocious human being. via GIPHY Being single is completely normal. It doesn't make you desperate, nor does it make you a loser. It is just you, being you. It means you are comfortable with who you are, you do not need another person for it. The people who judge you for taking time and trying to find someone who will understand you are the ones who are driving on the wrong side of the road. Why should we have to explain and defend ourselves for not being a relationship? Single And Fabulous! I believe a fortunate few are meant to be single because they are enough for themselves. Single, after all, is just a term; a word. It depends on you how to view it: crying behind closed doors because of it or indulging yourself with happiness just because you can. via GIPHY It's surprising that the society makes you think that being single is an appalling thing, popular culture doesn't do justice to the thrill of getting to know yourself and working on yourself. Apparently, according to them, single people can only be two things: sad or desperate. © Focus Features Hardly ever are there any fictional characters which are shown to be single and content with it. Romance is mandatory. Why? Because that is what brings in the audience. © New Line Cinema The freedom which being single gives is hardly comparable to other experiences. You can sleep as long as you want, have as many crushes you want, eat what you want without guilt, and you are not answerable to anyone for the choices you make. via GIPHY What is wrong with being single? The Sun does not need anyone else to shine. The biggest challenges in your life are faced by one person; you. Celebrate who you are. No one will be around for you forever, except you. © 20th Century Fox Television We need to break the stigma of self-love. Why should someone be judged for loving themselves more than another person? Don't we have better things to look out for? via GIPHY Maybe, you will find a person who completes you later in life, but for the time being, enjoy your own company, because only we can know ourselves the best. No one is asking you to be a hermit; know yourself better before letting someone else into your life. Don't let other factors bully you into feeling guilty for being single. © Focus Features Everything takes time; breathe. The best thing about being single? No one to judge you as you proceed to eat that tub of ice-cream, chocolate sauce all slathered across your face as you watch your favorite show on Netflix. :P via GIPHY Do not fall prey to the social convention or someone else's judgement. Elizabeth Bennet did not, nor did Sheldon Cooper. And who needs another person, as long as you have got pizza. Just saying. via GIPHY P.S.: Will most certainly be judged for writing this! :P
  10. Until yesterday, Barbados, the island nation in the Caribbean, used to be known across the world for being the place where 'Friends' character Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) hooked up with Joey (Matt LeBlanc), but the Windies' 'Universe Boss', Chris Gayle, decided to change that last evening when he caused it to rain sixes on the island against the visiting England cricket team. WHAT A KNOCK. Chris Gayle makes an incredible return to international cricket, reaching his 24th ODI hundred with a single off of Chris Woakes. It's come from exactly 100 balls. Clinical.#WIvENG | FOLLOW â¬ï¸ https://t.co/pQbWOWuEQM pic.twitter.com/0uUFCPJK4h — ICC (@ICC) February 20, 2019 If 'Balls Lost' was a stat maintained by the International Cricket Council (ICC), it would have to be Chris Gayle's name on the top of the charts. In a comeback match of his extremely successful career, the 39-year-old was able to get his 24th ODI century. He scored a massive 135 runs off 129 balls while having three 4s and 12 thunderous 6s to achieve this feat. What is crazier than these numbers is the sheer strength Gayle continues to command. There are sixes that just make it beyond the boundary line and then there are the 'Gayle Storm' sixes that disappear somewhere on stadium rooftops or even go out of them. Yesterday, Barbados experienced one such storm. During the beating he put on the Englishmen last evening, Gayle's 12 sixes included a monsterous maximum that travelled for more than 120-m with the ball nowhere to be found. However, the 'ball-finding' experts believe that it may quite possibly be resting on the decks of a ship docked in the adjacent port. But that was just one of eight incidents when the umpires had to introduce a new white ball into the game because of Chris Gayle. Running out of balls in Barbados#ENGvWI Gayle ð¥ð¥ — @RavitejaFan (@asisht84) February 20, 2019 Gayle looked like a batsman fresh in his prime during the first ODI between England and West Indies. Beating Shahid Afridi's record for the most number of sixes (476), Gayle got the top spot in that category when in the 14th over, Gayle sent another one out of the park on a Moeen Ali-delivery. His new found form has come up after a couple of days since the athlete had publicly announced that he would be retiring from One-Day International cricket post ICC World Cup 2019. Although Joe Root and the rest of the English squad was able to chase down the Windies' mammoth total of 360 runs to win the first ODI, Gayle's return to the Caribbean roster in such fashion, just a couple of months before the world cup is nothing but good new for his team. 11. Once upon a time, a few centuries ago around 1631 AD, a man decided to make the memory of his wife immortal, and thus the Taj Mahal was created. The monument became emblematic of the love and devotion Shah Jahan felt for his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal, and over the years the monument turned into the epitome of undying love. But even though things are a lot different today in the 21st century, and especially the way we love and express it has undergone some major transformations since the 17th century of Shah Jahan, some essence has remained the same. © MensXP People continue to fall in love, and though they have even found some of the strangest ways of expressing it, some things, such as a husband's love for his wife and concern about her well being continues to remain a constant through the years. Vikas Bagaria's love for his wife Srijana is proof of one such modern act of love, which may not involve erecting a marble monument for the beloved, but involves launching an entire movement to improve the personal hygiene situation for not only his wife but lakhs of others women too. Who Is Vikas Bagaria © MensXP Born into a family of businessmen, Vikas Bagaria is an entrepreneur and angel investor, who holds a MCA in Electronics from Jadhavpur University, Kolkata. He started his first venture right out of college in 1997, but is better known today as the founder of female personal hygiene spray 'PeeSafe'. However, Vikas has also been an angel investor in over 15 startups so far. The Backstory Vikas often finds himself in the company of men and women who are curious as to why Vikas takes such personal interest in the area of female personal hygiene, and Vikas is quick to establish the moment that gave birth to this venture. “My wife Srijana and I were on a road trip from Gurgaon to Gujarat. But when be reached Ahmedabad, she fell sick and had to be admitted into a hospital. She was diagnosed with acute Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)." © MensXP This diagnosis made the couple look at their entire journey more closely. They had stayed in the best hotels and eaten in the best restaurants, and yet Srijana contracted UTI. This made Vikas realise that clean doesn't mean sanitised, and became a cause of personal concern for him. “This gave us the idea of making a product that could be sprayed on a toilet seat, would kill germs and reduce the chances of UTI all at once for women. That is how PeeSafe came into being when I was looking for new ventures to soothe my investor's impulse.” PeeSafe Then & Now © MensXP There once came a point in Vikas' journey with PeeSafe, when he wanted to go back to his older projects, which were doing well and were professionally managed at the time. He was almost about to sell PeeSafe when his friend Dheeraj Jain came on-board as the co-founder of a new company called Redcliffe Hygiene which now owns PeeSafe. But the biggest challenge were people's mindset. Vikas' friends and relatives simply couldn't wrap their heads around why a man would want to create something related to women's hygiene. But Vikas only had a plain and simple response to that, “why can't men make a product for women? Why can't he for she?” © MensXP Past this initial challenge, PeeSafe is today available at across 3000 stores around India, and the brand has also launched internationally in countries like Nigeria, Singapore, Kenya but now they are planning to go all out and launch production in first world countries too. What's Next The expansion plans are in top gear, and with their hygiene partnership with 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' and with famous faces like Akshay Kumar and ace shooter Manu Bhaker as their ambassadors, the brand plans to achieve a lot more in the times to come. © MensXP With close to 65 people on and off the ground associated with the brand directly, PeeSafe wants to become “a generic term for female hygiene”. And if there was one piece of advice Vikas could lend to budding entrepreneurs, it's that “keep doing what you are doing, be honest to yourself, be a job provider, that is the biggest satisfaction. And when it comes to funding, don't celebrate funding, celebrate exit because that's where all the money is.” Learn more about the trade secrets and valuable lessons, from the man himself in this video.
  12. Ranveer Singh is one of the most eminent personalities of Bollywood. The man has an almost unbelievable hit-to-flop ratio and is married to one of the most beautiful and successful actresses in the country. It's practically impossible to dislike him (although, as a guy, you could feel a tad bit jealous sometimes), simply on account of how grounded, and funny he is. But the one thing that sets him apart from all his contemporaries is his asli-pan ('Gully Boy' reference, guys, catch up). He is real, he is raw, he is bahut hard, and that's the sort of attitude Ranveer Singh exudes. Here are all the times he has proved that we need to be more like him, which is more real, more asli: 1. Display of Affection Pinterest Whether it's a public display of affection or private, Ranveer has shown time and again that he is not afraid to express his love for his wife, Deepika Padukone. From coming down on the media for being unreasonable in reporting her life to flying to LA to be with her on her birthday amid tight filming schedules, he has done it all. 2. Fashion Style Pinterest If there's one guy in Bollywood who wears whatever he wants to without giving two hoots of what others think of him, it's Ranveer. Every time he has worn an outlandish piece of clothing, he has managed to set not just fashion goals, but also major confidence goals. Dare to be like him? 3. Trying Out New Things Pinterest If you've followed Ranveer's career, you will see the versatility in his choice of work. From playing a chocolate boy in 'Band Baaja Baarat' to a con man in 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl', from a soft-spoken poet in 'Lootera' to the animalistic Khilji in 'Padmaavat', he has done it all! We need to emulate this urge of trying new things in life ourselves. Because what's life without experiments? BORING, that's what it is. 4. Being Humble Pinterest Ranveer Singh is a superstar. He is a brand in himself and yet when you see him talk to people, you realise how grounded he is. He actually catches up with the paparazzi instead of shunning them away, as most celebs do. And you know it's real when you see it. 5. Excitement Over (The Best) Little Things In Life Did you know that KFC has launched a bunless burger in India? Now, that's a juicy piece of news has got me super excited and turns out, Ranveer is psyched about it too. His unapologetic excitement on finding out about the Double Down burger is absolutely contagious. And understandably too, I mean, KFC is taking the crispiness (and chicken-ness!) of their burgers a notch higher by completely removing the bun. Have a look: Well, Ranveer surely knows that one's love for tasty chicken is forever and nothing, absolutely nothing, should get in the way; not even the bun!
  13. Stupid and smart, at its extremes, are the two things that co-exist on the gym floor. There will be a guy who understands strength progression and would be tracking his training, whereas the other would be stacking plates on the bar for a squat PR, where the maximum movement he will achieve is his knee moving a bit. Funnily enough, the latter guys would happily post their videos on social media with the #neweeeknewpr (LOL). Keeping such guys in mind, here are a few things you shouldn't be proud of doing at the gym: 1. Leg Press PRs © YouTube Set 1 - 2 plates each side Set 2 - Add 3 more plates Set 3 - Add 2 guys Set 4 - Just hope you don't land at the hospital Leg press is the most common exercise that gives people a false sense of strength. Mainly because they hardly have any range of motion there. Annoyingly, some trainers promote this nonsense even when they know their clients cannot handle much weight. I've written a piece on it here 2. Ab Punches © Tnation I thought this stupidity had worn off until I saw it again recently. A guy doing hanging leg raises and his gym partner punching him when his legs came down! When doing leg raises, you're working on the function of spinal flexion. Punching is plain stupid. It doesn't make any sense. Oh, but what it does is increase your chances of injury. 3. Training Away To Failure © Thinkstock Images There is consistent data that shows that regular training to failure leads to: a. Impaired recovery b. Higher risk of injury c. Lesser gains d. Lesser adaptations to training Still, you will see bros shouting 'lightweight baby' and taking every set to failure. *facepalm* 4. Being Sore After Every Workout © Pixabay This is the USP that bro-splits have. Bro-split - 1 body part a day training. Guys who train this way will do 10 exercises for a body part and be sore to even move that body part for a week. How does that training make sense? The one that makes you feel disabled? And yes, there is data that shows that even when the number of sets and reps are equated, exercising the body part 2x a week results in greater strength and hypertrophy. 5. Running Like A Maniac On The Treadmill © YouTube If your goal is to build an impressive physique, weight training has to be your bread and butter. Not cardio. Then there are those who will run marathon distances on the treadmill. By doing this, you're just hurting your joints that will impact both your gains and health long term. Enjoy running? Do it outdoors. And yes, you should not only stop being proud of these 5 ridiculous things, but try and stop doing them completely. 14. If I look back into time, I remember being a chronic alcoholic. Right from diabetes to thyroid and to high blood pressure, I had everything. Even low testosterone was a huge problem. The doctor told me if I don't change my lifestyle I will never be able to start a family. Sure, addiction to food is a real thing but let me tell you that addiction to alcohol will ruin your life. This is exactly what happened with me. This is how I came out of alcoholism and reclaimed my life back. How I Ate Before anything, let me make it very clear that diet is the first step. I counted my calories, keeping the protein high (150 -250 grams), low fat (50 Grams) and least carbs diet. I reefed myself to keep away from binge eating. What I realized are the rules that apply to staying sober and quitting alcoholism also fit perfectly with weight loss and clean diet. Cutting Alcohol Was A BIG Task Now I was pretty much sorted with my diet. Next step was something that would completely change my life—quitting alcohol. This was harrowing for me to start with. I used to drink regularly. Now I had to stop. But here again, I didn't take any leaps. I took one step at a time. It was tough but I didn't give up. So What Did I Learn? One Day At Time First Apply this motto - When you wake up in morning say this- I WILL FOLLOW MY DIET TODAY NO MATTER WHAT. Don't think about tomorrow or day after, do justice to your diet today. Take it one day at a time. These are certain things I fixed about myself. 1. Serenity Of The Mind Either you are quitting alcohol or trying to be disciplined with dieting in your life. The serenity of the mind is most important. If your mind is not at peace then you cannot concentrate on anything which includes having right meals. So if you want to lose weight or improve your health, then the most important thing is the serenity of your mind. 2. Hardcore Honesty First step is about understanding your problem areas. It can be alcohol or eating junk food. To identify this, you have to be completely honest about it. Don't lie to yourself. If you are fat, you are fat. My alcoholism was killing me but I would tell myself that I will quit it soon. This hardly ever happened though till the time I was warned. 3. Become Selfish If you are not selfish, then you stop caring about what is best for you. If you are selfish you consider your health, your life and your progress before anything else. If you are selfish about your body then you do what is best for it. Most importantly, be selfish about your serenity. How Far I Have Come After years of hard work, now I stand completely sober. I literally came out of the claws of death to becoming one of the hardest workers in the gym and in the kitchen too. To do this, I didn't look at any shortcuts. I believed in myself, ate a structured diet and worked an intelligent training program that was the best for me. If you are also going through addiction, trust me, the solution is right inside you. Find it before it's too late.
  15. 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile' - the name of the movie about Ted Bundy precisely sums up the serial killer but some people are not sure about his portrayal in it. As soon as the trailer of the much-anticipated movie starring Zac Efron as the notorious killer dropped, people had concerns about the makers trying to humanize Ted Bundy and turning it into an almost rom-com, instead of showing him as a cold-blooded murderer, who killed 30 or more women. It's here! First Teaser Trailer for #ExtremelyWickedShockinglyEvilAndVile pic.twitter.com/AyHc3J26jC — Zac Efron (@ZacEfron) January 25, 2019 The main concern comes from the glorification of his crimes and how it would affect the people who were impacted by his crimes. However, a lot of people argued that Ted Bundy was supposed to be this charming, charismatic guy and that's exactly how he got so many of his victims. While no one can judge the movie by just its trailer, everyone agreed that the music was too inappropriate and made it seem like a superhero movie instead of a creepy crime story. Here's what everyone's saying: Yep, the music was bad. That music choice was awful. It should be creepy. People should feel disgusted watching this trailer. You already ruined people's first impressions on the movie... ð https://t.co/NNDTkAfcC2 — syzahmd (@syaza_hamid_) January 27, 2019 Is it romantic, tho? I feel so bad for the families of the victims that have to sit there and see their terrors revived as a witty romantic thriller https://t.co/uP4y03XSBU — anime yitties (@peachesfrfr) January 26, 2019 He was a monster, for sure. i mean it looks good but why the music? this film is portraying a literal serial killer that existed and did horrible things in real life at least make it seem that way instead of romanticizing a monster. https://t.co/uGKbl67eC1 — Nah (@Jullian1402) January 27, 2019 Way to go. The music makes me feel ill. How you gonna play fucking action music with a film about ted bundy who raped and killed "over 30, perhaps as many as over 100" women. Barely touches on it in the trailer lol. Way to go https://t.co/we8aH2HOe0 — eva i guess (@evaiguess) January 27, 2019 Just read the title to see how horrible he was. why did they market this like it's a super hero movie and not a movie about someone who kills humans for fun. https://t.co/Wb2sfU5WJb — honeybð (@KalliyahDejesus) January 27, 2019 Anyone could be a serial killer, tbh. Yall fr getting mad because they're showing what he was like instead of maybe thinking that not all serial killers look like monsters and they actually could be the cute neighbor? None's gonna think of him as daddy while watching him drag a corpse, use your head https://t.co/C0PzS0nNh4 — KTH1/TXT/ITZY are coming (@idlearity) January 26, 2019 Can't assume that, obviously. I feel that casting a teenage hearthrob as a serial killer was to really show that even the most charismatic normal ones can be sadistic,,,that being said the music for this trailer was a horrible choice, although one can't just assume jovial will be the tone of the film. https://t.co/3K8NddkECo — professional whiner (@shalini_vs_) January 26, 2019 The movie's director came out to clear some things. Exactly! https://t.co/V9KsCxldh6 — Joe Berlinger (@joeberlinger) January 26, 2019 I don't see it. and in this moment, watching the ted bundy tapes, i realized just how spot on casting zac efron as ted bundy was......this is unsettling pic.twitter.com/07lsdQBDZW — JOANNA (@Jobazzle) January 24, 2019 Exactly. Zac Efron as Ted Bundy is kinda perfect casting cause you can't believe that he could possibly play a terrifying serial killer in the same way that you couldn't have looked at Ted Bundy and believed that he *was* a terrifying serial killer. https://t.co/kew3IpkvVf — John Squires (@FreddyInSpace) January 25, 2019 We can never ever forget Troy Bolton. Instead of sexualizing zac Efron as ted bundy, let's applaud him for being such a great actor and being able to go from playing a singing basketball player to a serial killer — Liz (@ultralizzete) January 27, 2019 Okay, this is just bad usage of words. Can we not sexulize Ted Bundy? He raped, murdered, and decapitated women and had *** with their dead bodies. Not here for this hyper-sexualized Zac Efron film. I know the youth of twitter will obsess over him, and I'd prefer not to read thirst tweets about a serial murderer — Kayla Stetzel (@KaylaStetzel) January 26, 2019 While sexualizing him online is wrong on so many levels, this is just spot on. Ted Bundy: *used his charm to lure his victims* Film about Ted Bundy: *shows his charm* People on the internet: how DARE They romanticise a murderer of women who MURDERED WOMEN!?!?!? — Taylor (@finejostens) January 27, 2019 A much deeper point. 16. Tonight's 'Koffee With Karan' will have two amazing actors who are a fresh breath of self-made success stories in this world of nepotism. Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao will be gracing our screens and the little snippet from the show has already got us excited. Rajkummar's Hidden Talents Sure, he is a handsome guy and a great actor but not many are aware that he consciously chooses his roles over money, he is a fantastic dancer and is also trained in martial arts. View this post on Instagram To all my brothers and friends & to the most amazing #Fukreys. #HappyFeet with @patralekhaa A post shared by Raj Kummar Rao (@rajkummar_rao) on Dec 12, 2017 at 9:09pm PST 2. Bhumi's Struggles With Her On-Screen & Off-Screen Avatar Now the pretty actress has obviously surprised her fans with her choice of strong roles in movies like 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' and 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' so we have mostly seen her in home grown, 'desi' avatars. Bhumi will reveal some hilarious reactions she gets from her fans when she is out in public. She revealed that people are surprised to see her speak fluent English and it doesn't bother her at all because that means she did full justice to her characters. © Star World 3. Bhumi's Experience As An Assistant Director Not many are aware but Bhumi started her career as an AD in YRF and was behind the debuts and auditions of many successful actors today. She revealed on the show that she has auditioned the likes of Ranveer Singh, Kriti Sanon, Parineeti Chopra, and even Rajkummar Rao. She also revealed that she was impressed with Parineeti's audition for 'Ladies Vs Ricky Behl'. 4. Bhumi And Rajkummar's Take On Being An Outsider The two actors will debate on the favourite subject of nepotism and how was their respective struggle as an outsider in the show business. She started her journey as an AD while Rajkummar struggled to be an actor so naturally their perception was different as well. Bhumi expressed that she has never felt like an outsider and was always appreciated for her work. “I don't think it's got anything to do with where you belong. It's just the same thing as, when you start a new thing it's going to be alien at first and then eventually people are very accepting, they're so nice to me”. Rajkummar begged to differ and spoke about life post 'LSD'. “Probably if I was an insider, people would've pushed me more, that's the only thing I feel. 17. I started as an extremely fat guy with some really messed up eating habits. My cravings for sweet and savoury food were high all the time. I can still remember myself in the college canteen munching on patties, Tandoori Momos and soft drinks on a daily basis. Health Issues All of this started giving me major issues in my stomach. I had to take injections for this reason too. During regular check-ups in my school, I used to feel ashamed after seeing the weight scale going overboard. My weight had reached to 115 Kgs then. This made my friends tease me and call me names. Due to his, I had to visit a family doctor who rightly stated my poor eating habits as the reason for my abnormal weight gain. My Source Of Motivation I was forced to go to the gym, but it was against my own desire. The concept of training and working hard did not attract me. All of this changed when I met a girl who told me the hard truth – “You don't look attractive!” Uneducated Start To My Journey That hurt me deep inside but motivated me to start my journey of transformation as well. I started to run on the treadmill for countless hours and neglected weight training in the initial days. This made me lose 10-12 kgs but also made me look weak. I just ran on treadmill without thinking anything about the diet. Self Awareness The tables were turned when I changed my location to Pune and started watching videos on diet and training. I got aware on basic topics like calories, macros and macronutrients. Measuring my food and counting calories with the combination of heavy lifting made a lot of differences in my body. I used to get goosebumps seeing biceps popping out of my arms. My supplement stack only contained following two things: 1. Whey Protein 2. Multivitamin What Worked For Me? Apparently, the combination of these things worked for me: 1. Caloric deficit (Eating less calories than my bod requires) 2. High protein diet 3. Walks to the gym adding to Energy Burn (I didn't have my vehicle in Pune. This made me walk to the gym) 4. Educated and Science Based Training methods 5. Real Food and not meaningless Supplements What Didn't Work For Me? I followed the Ketogenic Diet in between which obviously got me results. Later on, I realized that this diet could not be followed for long because of limited food options. My Final Message To All When your loved ones see your efforts and hard work, they start recognizing and supporting you. Girls who didn't know my name, drool over me now! My parents have started appreciating my fitness goals. Also, our decisions and choices dictate our progress. I'm that one guy in the group who chooses diet coke over a regular soft drink. These small choices can add up in the long run and make us achieve our goal sooner.
  18. Going seven years back in time, as an average IT professional, I was working from 9 to 6 in an MNC with a very limited focus on my fitness and eating habits. With a very lean body type – 60kg and short height (5'6) my appearance was tiny. I was constantly made fun of and that resulted in low self-esteem, confidence impacting my performance across all functions of life. Poor Eating Habits Staying away from home, I used to eat whatever was accessible to me with zero attention to what type of food I was consuming and what it will do to my body. With ample free time after office and during weekends, I decided to join a nearby gym with the goal to become big and at the same time socialize with fellow gym-goers. Change In Job Locations I slowly started to do light to moderate workouts following traditional coaches and their techniques. After not seeing any significant results after 6 months, I was fortunate enough to come across a trainer who focused on natural diet and using correct form. But, as it usually happens in the IT industry I received a better job offer from a company in Gurgaon and hence had to shift my base from Noida to Gurgaon. I restarted my workout but this time I was constantly pushed by my trainers to take supplements from whey proteins to creatine. First Encounter With Steroids & Kidney Issues For personal benefits, my coach even tried to persuade me to go for Dianabol as well. Though I completely ignored his advice of taking steroids, I started taking supplements like whey protein and BCAAs. After a few months, I noticed some changes in my body structure but also observed that my gut health started to suffer. I got constant issues of indigestion, bloating etc. I got a full body checkup done and found that my creatinine levels were very high. Most of the aspiring bodybuilders, aspirants neglect these small issues which are very critical for your overall health. Changing The Coach At this point, I immediately stopped taking advice from this coach and hired an online coach whose fitness methodology focused on 100% natural transformation. By this time, the fitness bug had bitten me and I started to read a lot of online material on fitness and nutrition to increase my knowledge and did my ISSA certification as well. Managing Kidney Issues Also, I decided to train my body in 100% natural way with zero help of supplements. As an immediate step, I reduced my protein intake from 210gm to 130gm which was appropriate for my body needs and my creatinine levels became normal. At this time, I faced a major confusion on growing muscle while digesting protein ineffectively. I began to eat a lot of protein derived from natural or readily available sources like Paneer, Tofu, Legumes and Milk. Self Education & Learning Gradually with more research and time spent on reading online fitness materials, I became aware of my body type, its needs and correct form/technique of doing exercises. I created my own workout plan focusing on more than one body part every day. This was combined with a carefully planned diet plan with optimal calories, macronutrients and micronutrients. With progressive overloading and following a strict yet completely natural diet plan, I gained good muscle mass over a period of time. Now for further refining my Fitness Knowledge and bringing the physique to a next level, I have decided to work with a coach named Rachit Bir from BIRa Fitness.

In a traditional ceremony, the members of the historically prestigious community greeted the Men in Blue and the rest of the staff including the head coach, Ravi Shastri, with a wonderful performance which was later acknowledged and praised by the official Twitter handle of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI). #TeamIndia received a traditional welcome at the Oval Bay from the Maori community. According to the New Zealand Immigration, the Maori culture runs deep in the day-to-day lives of a great portion of the Kiwi population. For centuries, it has influenced the cuisine, language and even the attitude of the people living there. Coming back to the ODI series between India and New Zealand, Virat Kohli and his boys have had a remarkable start with a dominating performance by the bowlers led by the Man of the Match, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav while Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli managed to seal it after an initial bump to the batting order with an early Rohit Sharma wicket. With the Indian side pondering over a couple of changes in their middle order, a new addition to the squad is being considered. After the Committee of Administration (CoA) under the BCCI lifted the ban on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for their controversial comments on Karan Johar's show, 'Koffee With Karan', Pandya is on his way to the Kiwis' paradise to join the rest of the team on the Board's order.
  20. Actors transforming themselves to get into a particular character is nothing new, nor is making a biopic an unusual affair in Bollywood. But, what's new is how seriously Bollywood is taking its transformation game these days. 21. Do you often admire the athletic physique of your college friend? Wonder why your friend is obsessing with his or her diet during college hours? Most of us during our college days think that a good physique is merely for looks, getting girls and appreciation from fellow mates. Apart from these superficial aspects, a fit body can have many other positive effects in your life. Here are the benefits following a dedicated training regime and a balanced diet plan during your college years: Reduced Stress & Anxiety Levels: Lifting weights and having a decent cardiovascular endurance can help reduce stress and anxiety levels. Aerobic exercise has shown to elevate and stabilize mood. Enhanced Cognitive Function: Exercise has been demonstrated to have an impact on our cognitive(brain) functions and improve alertness and focus. This can help you with your exams and academic endeavours. Better Sleep: Daily Exercise will help you fall asleep faster, improve your sleep quality and regulate your natural sleep cycle. Health Management: Whether you are skinny, fat or skinny fat, a daily exercise routine can help you enhance muscle mass in your body and reduce the excess unhealthy fat over time. A Sense Of Achievement: Completing your exercise goals and achieving small chunks of progress gives us a sense of achievement and increases our motivation levels inside as well as outside the gym. Increased Positivity: Seeing your body change for good and putting efforts for something productive makes you feel positive and you become more positive about life. Enhanced Physique: Who doesn't feel good with a good pair of strong arms or shoulders? Who doesn't feel good when clothes fit them better? Who doesn't like a compliment or two? I think this point is self-explanatory and yes please don't skip your Leg Day! Being fit and healthy increases your sense of self-value and your perceived value (value given to you by others) both of which contribute to an enhanced persona and self-confidence. This confidence can be highly rewarding while giving a seminar or networking with new people. Apart from the confidence boost and other potential upsides of participating in daily physical activity, there are some people who fall prey to the downsides by taking fitness to an extreme, skipping social occasions, and being too restrictive. Please don't take this route unless you are a competitive athlete, as college time won't come back and in the long term, such short-term deviation won't matter much. That's it, folks! If you are a college student and are not participating in any form of physical activity on a daily basis, you are making a HUGE MISTAKE. This is one of the most perfect solutions for someone looking to increase their confidence in a holistic manner. 22. Looking back in time, I had always wanted to become a cricketer and my entire childhood was spent on the pitch. Then came the shock for me, as just like many talented young players, I could not clear the national trials and sadly had to put the bat down. My parents and teachers asked me to focus on the dreaded board exams. Back then I was extremely skinny. So skinny that my ribs were visible to the naked eye! People assumed that just because I was skinny, I was weak, which resulted in me getting bullied. This got to my head at times and I wanted to hit back but since I was way too skinny, they would often overpower me. This constant body shaming was bringing down my morale and confidence. Then I thought that if I would gain some weight, people will stop picking on me and I could stand up for myself. I joined a gym solely for this purpose. When I went in, I couldn't even lift a 2.5 kg dumbbell and even bodyweight exercises would hurt me. I was yet again bullied at the gym. I got frustrated within a week with all the bullying at the gym and decided to quit. Later that night, I saw Yash Anand's body transformation on YouTube. He was skinny just like me. Actually, even skinnier! But with consistency and hard work he built a great physique. This motivated me to forget about my bullies and just focus on my goal. Since that day there has been no turning back. Week by week, I overcame my weaknesses and got stronger. I learned from different Indian YouTubers and made my diet that fitted my lifestyle and budget. Training I usually follow two muscle groups a day routine and split it up into push-pull. Compound movements still are the core of my training. Progressive overload plays another big factor in muscle growth that I have always kept in mind. Eating I counted the calories that I needed in order to put on muscle mass and that was about it. I cook all my meals and keep a check on how much I am consuming and what all I am eating throughout the day. My ultimate goal is to build a physique like Hrithik Roshan, and I believe that in the last 2 years I have made some progress towards my goal. And I will continue to better myself each day.
  23. When I look back, what I remember the most was being bullied for being weak and skinny. I was just a thin kid and had absolutely no strength. My father was a star athlete during his school days and I looked up to him as my source of motivation. It was him who taught me about the importance of being fit. He got me into working out at home by making me do bodyweight exercises. I started my home workout with a pair of 5-kilo dumbbells and that was the beginning of my chase for a better physique. The Social Media Bug I craved for an aesthetic body mostly because I was hooked on to at looking at fitness influencers. This led me to join a real gym for the first time in my life. Though I did start working out, my diet was still crap. I was eating whatever I got my eyes on. I went in hard at the gym but since my diet was bad, I saw little to no results. Frustration followed suit and I quit hitting the gym. The Second Attempt College days brought me back to the gym. But I still lacked the needed diet and the desi gym trainers were still very misleading. Luckily, I got myself a separate room in the hostel. This helped me store my own food and not share. Still, I was bro-dieting and eating eggs. The trainers I consulted just took the money and never really helped me with the nutrition. Then came in the myths about whey protein, but my parents didn't let me buy it. Anyhow, I convinced them and bought a tub with high hopes. Again, I failed! The Luring World Of Steroids Some trainers tried to sell me steroids making baseless claims like only steroids will get you big and get you abs. The guys you see shredded are all on steroids. If you want to look like models, you have to get on steroids. Luckily, I was intelligent enough to not do it. The Turning Point The very first guy who actually helped me was my online friend. He was the one who told me about the importance of dieting and calorie counting. He saw my images and asked me to get on a bulk first and then cut out to see how much muscle I had actually put on. His help brought about a lot of visible changes in my body. Then I came across Pratik Thakkar, the co-founder of GetSetGo Fitness. He busted all the myths in my head and made me further understand the science of dieting. I trained under his guidance and got into the best shape of my life.
  24. Ever since my childhood, I was fascinated towards sports and cricket was my forte. The basic fitness required for playing demanded everyday drills. And to say the least, I was a champ at doing these drills. I still remember doing the maximum number of push-ups and running the most laps of the cricket ground. Soon into the first year of my grads, I was hooked onto building a physique. This is where my struggle started. All the regular push-ups that I did back in school did make me a bit strong but not as strong as I wanted to be. I decided to quit playing all sports and took up a gym membership. And just like any rookie, I started weight training twice a day. I slogged for hours on end six times a week. As far as nutrition was concerned, it was simply crap. I knew nothing about eating and protein intake. I ate what most gym bros ate- bananas before workout and eggs post-workout. Probably the stupidest thing I have ever done. The nutrition was just not there. Unsurprisingly, a few months into training, I still looked like shit. Pretty soon, somebody convinced me to believe that weight training before the age of 20 hinders height growth. I got so scared that I gave up weight training. Soon I was found myself drinking and smoking and soon, this became an addiction. Somewhere inside, I still had a dream of building a good looking physique. I joined a gym again and then again, as random trainers led me into doing stupid stuff. Yet again, there were no results and this time it tested my patience. Almost Got Into Steroids Tired of looking skinny fat, I looked at using steroids. A guy at the gym, of course, a regular user, advised me to do it. I gave it a thought but luckily due to being short on funds, I pulled back. I was almost convinced to invest in it but luckily I was short on funds, and later on, I simply quit the gym. My Job Made It Worse Soon after my MCA, I got into an IT job. As you would guess, it demanded me to sit for hours on end. Years passed by like this and my physique became worse. For one final time, I bucked up and looked through the internet and came across GetSetGo Fitness and trained under the guidance of Nagarjuna. Initially, I found it tough to cook all my meals and hitting the gym in the morning, since I came from being completely sedentary. But Nagarjuna guided me in preparing all my meals and answered all my questions. Hard Work Pays Off With the right guidance on nutrition and training, today I have a physique that I always wanted to have. Right now, I am training right and eating just as required. I have further set goals for the future as well.
  25. 'Andaz Apna Apna' is not just a great classic comedy movie but is considered a cult and an iconic movie from 1994. No forced laughter, subtle humour and a light hearted treat packed with a few punches in the form of dialogues. The movie starred Raveena Tandon , Karisma Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the lead. Years later when remakes are in fashion and from songs to movies, everything is getting a millennial spin of its own, then how can this comedy be far behind? According to a report in Filmfare, the iconic comedy is all set to be reprised with none other than Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. According to sources, “Producers Vinay and Priti Sinha are planning to do Andaz Apna Apna. It won't be a sequel or remake. Nor will Raj Kumar Santoshi direct it. While they have not decided yet what exactly it will be, they are sure it won't be a remake or a sequel but something as exciting. Raj Kumar Santoshi's Andaz Apna Apna, starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor, was a cult movie and one cannot mess with the original. One should not touch such a great film and that too 25 years later and destroy it by a remake or sequel. The director is yet to be finalised. AAA reloaded will be a big film and the makers are treading cautiously as they want to finalise everything before making an announcement. Ranveer and Varun, have been approached for their comic flair to play Amar and Prem – who again will be happy-go-lucky characters but not what we saw in the 1994 movie. Both are good friends off screen and will be able to carry off their roles with ease. This will be set in 2019 and promises to be another laugh riot yet with underlying emotions. While the iconic character of Crime Master Gogo (played by Shakti Kapoor earlier) will also make a comeback with a contemporary actor and his character will be more stylised and modern.” © Instagram Who will play the lead actresses is the main question and we really hope the makers consider Sara Ali Khan for one of the roles as the beautiful actress has already won hearts with her skill and looks. Though remakes are a risky business, we trust our 'baba' and Varun to do a good job.
