  2. Android 12 beta is now available to test on a number of smartphones so that you can check out the changes for yourself. While the public release of Android 12 isn’t slated to happen before September this year, Google is giving advanced users and enthusiasts a chance to try out the latest version for themselves. The beta build of Android 12 is slightly more stable than the developer preview and has more features to check out that were announced last night. If you want to know which features we recommend checking out, here’s a list of the most important changes. Android 12 Beta Compatible Devices © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Android 12 Beta is compatible with over 20 models from 11 different OEMs including the Pixel devices by Google. Installation process for each device will be different and we recommend following the steps provided by your smartphone’s OEM. These are all the models that can currently run the Android 12 Beta: Google Pixel 5Google Pixel 4a 5GGoogle Pixel 4aGoogle Pixel 3Google Pixel 3 XLGoogle Pixel 3aGoogle Pixel 3a XLAsus Zenfone 8OnePlus 9OnePlus 9 ProOPPO Find X3 ProRealme GT (China)Nokia X20SharpTCL 20 Pro 5GTecno Camon 17Vivo iQOO 7Xiaomi Mi 11 UltraXiaomi Mi 11Xiaomi Mi 11iXiaomi Mi 11X ProZTE Axon Ultra 5GWhat To Expect © 9TO5Google Android 12 introduces many facelifts to the overall design of the Android OS, however it also focuses on customisation, privacy and security. Google calls it the new ‘Material You’ design language and there are quite a few changes Google is planning for Android devices. We will start seeing new Android changes from September onwards, including a redesigned notification shade, customisable quick settings and a privacy dashboard as well. Other optimisations include under-the-hood improvements that will result in better battery life, smoother animations and faster performance. Android 12 is expected to release for Pixel devices later this year and other OEM models soon after. View the full article
  3. What to expect Beta releases have not had extensive testing, therefore you may encounter issues with this release. You should only use Invision Community 4.6.0 Beta 1 on a test site. If you choose to test this release on your main site, please ensure you backup your site first. While we endeavour to support minor issues with this release, we would not want you to lose any data if you had to revert back to a stable release. Please report all bugs into our bug tracker. 4. Apex Legends is currently one of the most popular battle royale games on PC and Consoles with over 100 million players. Now, the game will be making its way to mobile phones developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. EA announced the game will be making its way to mobile platforms for free and will have a slightly different experience than the main games on PC and consoles. © EA “Beginning later this month,” Game Director for Apex Legends said in a blog post, “we’re kicking off the first regional beta tests for Apex Legends Mobile. […] Apex Legends Mobile is specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimisations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone. It’s a new version of Apex Legends, but it’s true to the original.” From what we’ve seen so far, the mobile version of the game will look similar to the main game but we expect it to have certain tweaks to make it playable on mobile platforms. EA has not given a glimpse at the touchscreen controls or the interface either. There is also no word whether the game will have support for controllers and gamepads either. What we do know is that the mobile game will not have cross-play with PCs and consoles. © EA Apex Legends Mobile will be available via a limited closed beta in India and the Philippines for Android Devices only at the time. The developers plan to extend support to iOS devices later and include more regions in future tests. We have not received an official release date for the game as of yet. If you would like to pre-register for the game, Android users can visit the registration link here. © EA Battle-royale games like PUBG have been extremely popular in India and it could be the reason why EA is looking to beta test in India first. It is possible that the game might fill the void left by PUBG mobile as it was banned in India last year. The game was banned due to its association with Tencent Games, a Chinese gaming company that faced blanket bans from the Indian Government over national security concerns. 5. Since the process of rolling out the feature to beta versions is very slow, some users might not be able to see the feature despite updating the app.
  6. This is the first beta release of Invision Community 4.5.0. Please note: While Invision Community 4.5.0 Beta 1 has limited technical support, we recommend testing an upgrade on a copy of your site. It is likely that any custom themes will need adjusting and any third party apps or plug-ins will need updating to be 4.5.0 compatible. The marketplace application is also not available in this beta. 7. Since we announced native Invision Community apps for iOS and Android, the response has been incredible. Hundreds of customers registered interest in joining the testing process, and for the initial round we selected around thirty users, roughly split between iOS and Android. Thank you to those testers for their work in reporting issues and providing feedback over the past couple of months. Open Beta I'm pleased to report that we are now ready to begin an open beta of the app, allowing everyone to install it and test it. See below for information on installing the apps. As this is still a testing process, we'd welcome any bug reports or feedback you have. Instructions on doing that can also be found below. The app going into open beta today is essentially a 'white label' version for our own community here. This enables us to test the basic community functionality more widely before we release the free 'multi-community' app that customers will be able to use with their own communities. Already signed up for beta testing via our survey? Thank you! Once we begin testing the multi-community app we will select a new group of testers from those that signed up, and invite them to offer the app to their own users on their own communities. This stage will come once Invision Community 4.5 is released later this year. Installing the app iOS iOS users will need to install TestFlight from the App Store. This is an app provided by Apple that allows developers (such as ourselves) to issue test versions of applications. Once installed, sign up for the beta test by going HERE on your iPhone. Android Android users should go HERE on their device to sign up for the beta. Reporting issues/providing feedback If you would like to report an issue with the app, we are managing issues via a special GitHub repository. You will need a free GitHub account to report new issues, if you don't already have one. Click the Issues tab, then the New Issue button and follow the steps. Please provide as much information as you can. If you'd like to provide feedback via a private channel, or if you have a sensitive bug to report, please email us at a dedicated email address: mobilesupport@invisionpower.com Disclaimers The app you will be installing is a beta version and we offer no guarantees with it. If you are not comfortable using beta software and the inherent risks in doing so, please don't install the app yet. We reserve the right to suspend testing or exclude individual testers at any time if necessary.

  12. Apple finally announced the new iOS 13 for iPhones and iPod Touch during the WWDC 2019 keynote yesterday. Yes, iOS is no longer available for iPad and that's because the company announced a new OS for iPads called iPadOS. iOS 13, in case you don't know, comes with a bunch of new features like Dark Mode, a couple of redesigned apps, faster app loading times, faster FaceID and more. © Apple According to Apple, the first public beta of iOS 13 will launch in July. But if the curiosity to try out the new OS is killing you, then you can actually install and check out the iOS 13 beta right now. Yes, it's possible and here's how you can do it. How To Install iOS 13 Right Now In order to install iOS 13 on your iPhone right now, you'll need a paid Apple developer account. That's because this isn't a public iOS 13 beta rollout. The beta software is only available for the developer to play with the OS and make compatible apps. If you're not a developer and don't have a developer account, then you can enroll for one right here. Do make a note that not all users are eligible to have a developer account, so you might not be able to create one right away. If you have a paid developer account, then you visit this page of the Apple Developer site to download the beta software right now. Again, do make a note that this won't be an OTA update, so you'll have to manually install the update. Wait For The Public Beta While the developer beta is out right now, we suggest you wait for the public rollout next month. For one, it'll be free to download and can be loaded via an OTA update. It'll also be slightly more polished than the developer beta that's out right now. Also, before you proceed, it's worth pointing out that it's best to create a back up before installing the beta software. Failing to do so will force you to be stuck with the beta version of iOS 13, which may or may not be very stable for daily use. Supported iPhones & iPods © Apple According to Apple, these are devices that can take part in the iOS 13 beta - iPhone XS, XS Max iPhone XR iPhone X iPhone 8, 8 Plus iPhone 7, 7 Plus iPhone 6s, 6s Plus iPhone SE iPod Touch 7th Generation Well, now that you know everything about iOS 13 beta, go ahead and check out all the new features that are available.

  17. We all sustain our beliefs on different theories to function a certain way. For instance, nature vs. nurture, left brain vs. the right or even the 'flat earthers' theory (idiots) and many more. But the one theory I can never wrap my head around, is that of the alpha male vs. the beta male. Why? Because I think it pre-defines a man's journey to become a certain way, and how is that even remotely okay? I am not here to diss the alpha male syndrome. But I surely think I can debunk a few myths about why alphaism or forced alphaism, is just a wrong notion to follow, for the rest of your life. © Pinterest Let me simplify this for you. The theory states that there are two prominent personality types for men- the alpha and the beta. The alphas are supposed to be on top of the social status of hierarchy and they're believed to be the stronger and dominant pack. They have greater access to money, power, friends and women are easily attracted to them. A power suit with a power play, that apparently is a more inherent trait of an alpha male. The beta, in contrast, is more submissive and sensitive in nature. They're your typical 'nice guys' most women don't want to date, but maybe settle with and get married to, because they're more accepting and aren't constantly competing for what's best out there. © Thinsktock The concept of the alpha male emerged in the 70s when a researcher studied a group of wolves in the wild. The wolf pack showed very dominant traits or that's what he thought and believed. But his theory was proven wrong when a new theory emerged dismissing the last one. Wolves are predominantly family oriented creatures. If you notice, they always roam about in packs. Well, you will see that through the street dogs in your cities, who are direct descendants of wolves, and are also found in packs. The theory negates any alpha traits the wolf might have, be it male or female. In fact, they pair up often and show alpha traits they may have as 'parents' and not individually, to protect their offspring's. © Sam Raimi films So, if we do talk about an alpha male, the theory dismisses itself because the origin of the story is phenomenally wrong! Yes, it's true we look for a mate to procreate and much like the wolves, we work in pairs to protect our offspring, but the fact that boys are fed the notion of the 'alpha, dominating male', preconditions them into believing they have to be a certain type, to achieve any kind of success in life. This is not just unhealthy, it's a very wrong way to perceive the concept of upbringing. A boy should be brought up in an environment where he recognises all his emotions and learns to deal with them healthily. When mothers disperse the idea of 'boys don't cry' from their child's mind, they (boys) automatically think to show any form of emotion is a sign of weakness, something a beta male would often indulge in. © Sony Pictures Releasing The truth of the matter is, every alpha has the trait to be a beta and every beta can be an alpha if he wants to. And to bust even a larger myth is saying that yes, women are easily attracted to alphas more because of their dominating nature or their display of power and prowess, but eventually they don't want to be with a man who cannot interact with kindness or can't display emotions when he needs to, or even be an emotional support for her when she needs one. While women do choose an alpha male for a casual fling, it's the beta, more prestigious and sophisticated male they go for to procreate with. And that's not a conscious decision, that's an inherent need, biologically. An 'alpha' so to speak can draw their attention with style and status and of course, power but a beta category will still win their hearts and psyche. © MensXP But since we're debunking and dismissing the concept of alpha and beta, there is an easier way to do this. There is an easier way to be the alpha in your life, by being assertive when you need to, showing power where you have to and being macho when you want to, but you can also condition yourself to carry forth some beta traits, which could pendulum from showing emotions when you need to, being kind when you have to and being submissive when you want to. © Eros International So, to say you're a certain type of a male is innately wrong. You're what you condition yourself to be. The conditioning that allows you to foster your own belief systems and aspirations turns you into the man you want to become. Ideally, doing away with the alpha and the beta personality types and structuring your mind to inherit both the qualities assertively, is what makes a man both dominant and sensitive, at the same time.
  18. You know why you clicked on this story, don't you? If you are not sure, then let's just say that perhaps something about this article's headline resonated with you. Or maybe you came here to confirm your notions on the subject or even to critique it. All the same, for a major percentage of you reading this, the most pressing reason would have been the four words written in quotes in the headline - which is something every other Indian guy has grown up listening to, a number of times, from a number of people. © Vinod Chopra Films Frankly, no one's to blame for this passion that plagues most of the middle-class households in the country, regardless of where you are located. This statement is a loose translation for middle-class aspirations, to climb up the social ladder based on the “pride, respect and financial independence” this career offers/ed and promises/ed. However, when we look around at our engineer friends and acquaintances, or even the job market for that matter, each of them paint a very different picture. Yet, our elders somehow always manage to overlook these realities or rather manage to “look at the brighter side of things”, as they say. © Vinod Chopra Films But we are not here to discuss the pros and cons of this career choice, rather we are here to set a premise as to why our society needs to move beyond its obsession with scientific intelligence and instead, give equal encouragement to a healthy philosophical and literary bend of mind amongst the youth. While there's no denying the fact that scientists and engineers may be one of the major building blocks of the society, it also needs to be acknowledged that civilisations would cease to exist if creative fields are to be disregarded and the expressions curbed. © Thinkstock So, when we say that parents should take a break from “humara beta toh engineer banega”, what we are also trying to say is that, it's time they stopped saying things like, “arts toh below average students lete hain”, “actor banke nautanki karoge?”, “baker matlab halwai banna chahte ho?”, yada yada. What this implies is that anybody who is more inclined towards science will somehow be more successful in life, while any other alternative choice of career cannot be trusted to stand the test of time and help build a life of comfort and abundance. © Pexels Yes, times are changing. Yes, we have come a long way and yes, it is true that lots of parents have now become more accepting of alternative career choices, but the majority of them are still not convinced. So while they continue to overlook the perpetual need and the growth prospects of the creative fields, let's consider taking a look at the facts that might convince the likes of them. It is no news that the creative fields expand people's horizon. They allow us to look beyond the obvious, dig deeper and not go by the face value of things. People in these fields like to question everything and build strong instincts by expanding their knowledge. © Pexels Moreover, every society needs people who can think clearly, accommodate multiple perspectives and rise above the differences to reach a consensus that suits them all. Creative fields encourage critical thinking and equip people to unearth the layers of meaning hidden behind an obvious looking artefact and prove their point too. Not just that, people in such fields are also more welcoming of other cultures and beliefs, because they wish to know more and take all the positive aspects of different cultures to share with the world. © Pexels A lot of poignant pieces of literature, cinema, paintings, culinary explorations and the likes have constantly opened gates for interactions and exchange of ideas across borders and even continents, stepping over language barriers and cultural differences. These are other forms of discoveries which help the society to grow and evolve into a wholesome and compassionate entity. So, perhaps it wouldn't be wrong to say it's high time the break was announced, and we witnessed more transformations like Viru Sahastrabudhhe's character underwent in '3 Idiots'. © UTV Motion Pictures This would not only save hundreds of lives burdened by societal (at times parental too) expectations and from eventually crumbling under it, but also prevent the ruthless murder of thousands of dreams, something that is so prevalent in many households in the name of job security and future prospects.

  20. Now that iOS 12 Beta is now available to developers, it is open for them to poke around and find information that is not meant to be seen by the public yet. Guilherme Rambo was one of those developers who looked closer at the code and found something that has only been a rumour until now. © Twitter Face ID is coming to iPads as found in the video and screenshot found by Rambo in iOS 12. The screenshot shows the setup UI and other settings relevant to the new unlocking feature. These references show that a device is already equipped with Face ID sensors and has been credibly reported as a rumour for a 2018 release. This basically confirms an iPad with Face ID is definitely coming sometime in the near future. The Face ID setup UI is finally working on iPad. Clearly not done yet as can be seen by the descriptions mentioning "iPhone". But it's a start :) pic.twitter.com/PVQgfbne15 — Guilherme Rambo (@_inside) June 5, 2018 We already know today that iOS 12 is going to bridge gesture control between the iPhone X and the iPad as soon as the update starts rolling. At the moment, users can access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner, similar to the iPhone X. Once can also notice from the screenshot that the clock has been moved to the left corner, in order to make room for the impending notch. © Youtube Would you care for facial recognition on the iPad, it sure will make it easier to use the tablet simply because of its larger screen size. Let us know what you think about the much-rumoured iPad and whether it would be revolutionary or not. For more information on WWDC18, keep tabs on the MensXP Technology section.
  21. Google on Tuesday unveiled a lot more details about Android P, the next major update to its mobile operating system. While the developer preview was available for select devices some time ago, the search giant has now opened it up for public beta, while also expanding the number of devices for which the beta will be available. Android P is the temporary name for the next Android version, following Android 8.0 Oreo. We won't know what the “P” stands for until the final version is released likely in August. Aside from the Pixels, seven phones from the likes of Nokia, Xiaomi, and Sony are eligible to install the beta build. The new OS update is running on these phones so quickly because of a joint effort between Google's Project Treble and Qualcomm. Qualcomm said that they have worked closely with Google and have made Snapdragon 845, 660, and 636 Android P ready from the day one of Google I/O. The required drivers are already there in this chipsets to work smoothly with Android P. © DigitallyBones Hence, these devices are currently able to run the update: 1. Nokia7 Plus 2. Sony Xperia XZ 2 3. OPPO R15 Pro 4. Vivo X21 5. OnePlus 6 6. Essential PH-1 7. and all Pixel devices. © Innovation Village If you have one of these devices, here's what you need to do: 1. Open the browser and visit Android Beta 2. Scroll down to eligible devices and select Opt-in. 3. Click OK to confirm your device has been registered for the OTA (over the air) update. 4. Your phone will get an update notification in the next few hours. You can also manually check for its availability via Settings About phone System Updates and check for any available updates. 5. When the update arrives, download and install it. 6. Follow the simple instruction screen after installing and you are good to go! © PeteLau If you are facing any issues with the Beta update, you can also easily opt-out of the program. Simple visit the Android Beta website given above and select opt-out. Do keep in mind though, rolling back will completely reset your device and you'll lose all your data. Before installing the OTA update, it is also recommended you take a full backup of all your data. Not everything might work properly, it's always better to be safe than sorry. 24. When it comes to acting, Rajkummar Rao is a 'Sharma ji ka beta'. Give him any role and he will play the bejesus out of it. He is a rarity in Bollywood - an actor who can actually act. Of late, he has been paying attention to his style game as well, the results of which were evident in his latest appearance in a shiny brown suit. Our chests swelled up with pride, seeing him serve 'Sharmaji ka beta's accomplishments' realness with swag level 9000. © Viral Bhayani We love the outfit. Yes, it's a little unusual in its choice of fabric - but the retro look is getting back everywhere. The shiny fabric was quite the rage in the 90s and we honestly are happy to see it come back. It is the quintessential 'rich' looking outfit that Indian men across the length and breadth of the country have been in love with forever because of its 'fancy' appeal. © Viral Bhayani The black and white tie with its crisscross wine rack pattern looks exactly like a tie that Sharmaji ka beta's classy girlfriend would have gifted him for their three month anniversary. It goes with the suit perfectly, while making the brown pop. Plus, like a mature fashionista, Rajkummar used a tie-pin that goes with the tie. © Viral Bhayani We love how Rajkummar decided to crop his trousers at the ankle. That gives the suit a very modern, youthful edge while keeping its grace intact. Also, the fact that he understands fashion etiquette is evident, given the way he has undone the bottom button of his blazer while standing up. © Viral Bhayani The Oscars just went by. We are pretty confident Rajkummar will bring one of those golden boys home soon, and we don't have to worry about his red carpet appearance either because clearly, our boy is all ready for that. Kudos!
