  1. Sometimes in order to look for some real-life inspiration and motivation to do big in life, one needs to look away from the Bollywood crowd of star kids or big names in the world who are an heir to an ocean of wealth awaiting their reign. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon and therefore, there is a strong magnetic force in the stories of some real life self-made people who fight all odds to make it big in life. Here are 7 self-made Indian billionaires under the age of 40 who are a source of inspiration to every millennial out there: 1. 2. A 25-year-old Sanju Samson may have over 3000 T20 runs under his belt but just two international appearances. Having played his very first match for the Indian cricket team all the way back in 2015 in Harare, Zimbabwe, the cricketer got his second and seemingly last chance in the time to come, to don the blue kit on Friday, January 10, 2020. Sanju Samson finally gets to play his second T20I; his first came in 2015. Three changes for India, while Angelo Mathews and Lakshan Sandakan are back in Sri Lanka's XI https://t.co/vYyCfFtg1i #INDvSL pic.twitter.com/fU1zLKE02O — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) January 10, 2020 This atypically long gap between two international matches made Samson the owner of an unwarranted record for most T20Is missed between two appearances. By the looks of it, Samson's misfortunes as a Man in Blue continue to haunt him as the team has decided to drop him yet again ahead of the five T20Is to be played against New Zealand on foreign soil. India's T20I squad for NZ tour announced: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), KL Rahul, S Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, W Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Navdeep Saini, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur — BCCI (@BCCI) January 12, 2020 Emotions were flowing at full strength during the third and final T20I between India and Sri Lanka when Samson was promoted to bat one-down in the batting order by skipper Virat Kohli. There was a feeling of desperation in Samson's eyes when he approached the pitch. He wanted to show the world that he belonged on the ground, he wanted to show the world that he was good enough. The first ball that he faced, the Trivandrum favourite smashed the delivery for a maximum but the second delivery by Wanindu Hasaranga trapped him with a clear LBW and that was it for the glorious return of the wicket-keeper batsman. #INDvsSL Pic 1: Samson first ball six Pic 2: Samson out LBW pic.twitter.com/5qFRpDc8bz — Akshay Batra (@theakshaybatra) January 10, 2020 “With time and experience I have come to realise that I need to have a very clear head and a balanced state of mind,” Samson had told me back in November, 2019 but at that moment, his mind was pacing and his face gave away the frustration like a bad poker player. Was this how his international career had to end? Will he be remembered as nothing but a tiny spec of dust in the vast history that Indian cricket boasts? “What was that cricketer's name who had a lot of potential but never made it big,” is this how the future generations were going to address the man? It's actually little unfair on Sanju Samson, he didn't do anything wrong. The only opportunity he got after 4 years in which he had to go from very first ball! They should've selected him for 5 long T20Is against New Zealand.#SanaWorldWide #SanjuSamson # pic.twitter.com/3kAyu48IXw — Rahul Nath (@Rntk____) January 12, 2020 Even though age is on his side and the fact that he will continue to earn a ton of money given his brilliance in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League, there is not a bigger honour for an athlete to represent their nation but by the looks of it, Samson might not receive that honour anytime soon. 3. Arguably one of the biggest Twenty20 (T20) competitions in the world, Big Bash League (BBL) has struck a chord with fans for its knack to produce exciting contests over the years. From great batting performances, majestic bowling spells to spectacular fielding displays, the BBL has got it all. The ongoing ninth edition of Australia's T20 tournament has proved to be no different as the city-based franchises, comprising of some of the biggest names in international cricket, continue to outsmart each other in a bid to clinch the coveted trophy. But, during the clash between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat on 9th January, the BBL, once again, became the talk of the town owing to a unique fielding effort by Matt Renshaw. The 15th over during the Hobart Hurricanes innings saw their captain Mathew Wade lofting Ben Cutting in what initially looked like the left-handed batsman's third six of the match. However, great awareness by Renshaw, who was patrolling the boundary, saw him pulling off a great relay catch which was eventually galloped by Tom Banton. Matthew Wade has to go after this spectacular effort from Matt Renshaw that will lead to plenty of debate about the Laws of Cricket! #BBL09 pic.twitter.com/wGEN8BtF5u â cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 9, 2020 Running in from long-on, Renshaw caught the ball high above his head. But, realising that he was going to step over the ropes, Renshaw tossed the ball in the air before jumping again, beyond the fence, and pushing it straight into the hands of Banton who had come to the aid of his teammate. While Renshaw's unique relay catch left the Gabba crowd at the edge of their seats, it left the match officials in a fix. The on-field umpires gave a soft signal as out, but the third umpire claimed it was not out before overturning the decision to eventually give the marching orders to Wade. The confusion encouraged everyone to take notice of a Laws of Cricket rule change made over six years ago. In October 2013, the Laws of Cricket were updated to deem catches similar to Renshaw legal. According to Law 19.5.2, a fielder who is not in contact with the ground is considered to be grounded beyond the boundary if his/her final contact with the ground, before his/her first contact with the ball after it has been delivered by the bowler, was not entirely within the boundary. Iâve got no problem with where he left from. Itâs where he ends up. After he touches the ball he needs to end up back in the field of play. If thatâs not the rule then the whole thing is farcical and the rule needs to change. https://t.co/Y797AsxP5G â Jimmy Neesham (@JimmyNeesh) January 9, 2020 Additionally, the Law 33.2.1 states that a catch will be fair only if, in every case either the ball, at any time or any fielder in contact with the ball, is not grounded beyond the boundary before the catch is completed. Also, note Laws 19.4 (Ball grounded beyond the boundary) and 19.5 (Fielder grounded beyond the boundary). Renshaw's presence of mind clearly made the difference as Heat managed to send swashbuckling Wade back into the hut after scoring 61 runs which, in turn, saw Hurricanes bundling out for a mere 126 runs and eventually losing the contest by five wickets. But, Renshaw's unique relay catch had cricket fans and pundits divided on social media. With that logic, a fielder can just stand outside the rope and just jump and push the ball back on field and save sixes. Itâs just a dumb rule. â Rehan Azhar (@S_R_A11) January 9, 2020 what law of cricket? standing outside the field of play n hitting it back to a team mate and being called out? what a joke. â Braedon (@carree6_) January 9, 2020 They need to correct this rule . Ridiculous â Sushil Acharya (@ach_sushil98) January 9, 2020 Literally one of the more stupid rules makes no sense â Tim cahill's son (@Jmac191919) January 9, 2020 Player can now sit in the stands jump up catch the ball , throw it back and the batsmen will be out. Absolute crap rule â Jason Camac (@Egrange2080) January 9, 2020 It always makes me giggle to think that a player can keep bobbing the ball up and go into the stands and get a hotdog â Rylan Dawson (@Dawso26) January 9, 2020 Thereâs many laws of cricket that are stupid & that are also written stupidly. This one fits into both of those categories. â jayw (@puntfiend) January 9, 2020 View the full article
  4. Photo: FileLOS ANGELES: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker continues to rule the cinematic universe, keeping its top ranking in North American theaters this weekend with $34.5 million, industry watcher Exhibitor Relations said Monday. That brought the three-week domestic total for the Disney film — marketed as a grand finale of the nine-film Skywalker Saga — to $451.6 million. It has taken an additional $468 million overseas, as it inches closer to the $1 billion mark overall. Holding onto the second spot again was Sony's Jumanji: The Next Level, an action sequel with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart, which took in $26.2 million for the Friday-through-Sunday period. Overall, it was an impressive weekend for Sony, which had three films in the top five. Its Little Women moved up from fourth last weekend to third, with a take of $13.6 million. The Greta Gerwig-directed version of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel has drawn strong reviews from critics. Many were irate that it missed out on nods for best director or best film at the weekend´s Golden Globes. Saoirse Ronan did get a best actress nomination for her role as Jo March, but lost to Renee Zellweger (Judy). Disney grabbed fourth spot with Frozen II. The animated musical about Queen Elsa and her gang took in $11.9 million in its seventh week out. With an accumulated global total of $1.3 billion, it has become the top-grossing animated film of all time, surpassing The Incredibles 2, Disney said. Yet another Sony movie, new release The Grudge, placed fifth at $11.4 million. The supernatural horror film is a remake of a 2002 Japanese movie. The movie got a rare "F" rating from audiences — the lowest possible grade. It is only the 20th film in 40 years to do so, according to the CinemaScore website. Rounding out the top 10 were:Spies in Disguise ($10.4 million) Knives Out ($8.9 million) Uncut Gems ($7.6 million) Bombshell ($4.1 million) Cats ($2.6 million)
  5. The world may not think much of Abhishek Bachchan the actor, but nobody can challenge the fact that AB Jr has delivered some really good performances over the course of his Bollywood journey, so far. For many of his admirers, one such memorable performance of the actor was in Guru and undeniably, it is perhaps one of his best performances on the silver screen. For anybody who has watched the movie, it would surely be difficult to imagine somebody else portray the role of Gurukant Desai than Abhishek. © Madras Talkies His powerful and more-than-convincing performance in the film won him much-deserved acclaim, and with the recently-shared first look of Abhishek's next film The Big Bull coming out, we have an inkling that it wouldn't be wrong to expect a Guru-like reboot from this film inspired by one of India's most infamous scammers and broker Harshad Mehta. Now, let us tell you why. Right from the very subject of The Big Bull, to the genre that the film is set to deal with, it's pretty much in keeping with a Bildungsroman, or simply put, a narrative that traces the rise of a protagonist. © Quora That brings us to the most important part of this article. Who da fcuk is Harshad Mehta. Who Is Harshad Mehta On the surface level, suffice it to say that Harshad Mehta was the brightest stockbroker India had seen in the 80s, who fell from grace at the end of the 20th century after having acquired a colossal wealth and fame through his trading secrets. Until one fine day, Harshad “Big Bull” Mehta turned into India's 'king of scams' who was served with 27 criminal charges against him. Before his sudden death, while in police custody due to a heart ailment in 2001, Harshad was convicted in four of the twenty-seven criminal charges against him. The (In)Famous 1992 Security Scam © Twitter It was journalist Sucheta Dala who exposed Mehta and his accomplices' scam in 1992 through an article that was published in The Times of India. In her own words, this is what Mehta had been doing to hike up stock prices and make truckloads of money by fooling small-scale banks and stock buyers. © Twitter “The crucial mechanism through which the scam was effected was the ready forward (RF) deal. The RF is in essence a secured short-term (typically 15-day) loan from one bank to another. Crudely put, the bank lends against government securities just as a pawnbroker lends against jewellery. The borrowing bank actually sells the securities to the lending bank and buys them back at the end of the period of the loan, typically at a slightly higher price. It was this ready forward deal that Mehta and his accomplices used with great success to channel money from the banking system.” The Perfect 'Bollywood' Subject © Twitter Before the exposé, Harshad channelled the perfect 'Pied Piper' of the Indian stock market, who succeeded in fuelling the greed and aspiration of millions of middle-class Indian in the 90s. His rise made for the perfect 'rags to riches' story that people are eager to grab a bite of - a small-town boy who turned into the “Sultan of Dalal Street” until he was overthrown. With Abhishek on the forefront of The Big Bull, we are hoping to witness the journey of Hashad Mehta the way we saw Gurukant Desai's. View the full article

  7. Australia's Big Bash League feels more like a fun day off work with everybody from the fans to the players and even the officials having a great time amidst a game of cricket. But on Sunday, umpire Greg Davidson took the 'fun' to the next level when he caused massive confusion on the field on an LBW appeal. During the match between Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers on the weekend, Afghanistan bowler Rashid Khan shouted for a call when his delivery hit batsman Beau Webster's pads in front of the stumps. Responding to Khan's appeal, Davidson slowly raised his finger, obviously to signal the final decision but he realised midway that there was a tiny inside edge and affirming Khan's call would be incorrect. So what does the umpire do with his finger raised halfway? Well, just like any other intelligent man, he puts that finger beneath his nose and starts rubbing it. ð Greg Davidson with a bit of an itchy schnoz at Marvel Stadium #nosegate #BBL09 pic.twitter.com/m3M772Atox — KFC Big Bash League (@BBL) December 29, 2019 Davidson did this while Rashid was already celebrating the wicket with his teammates and he suddenly shouts: “I did not give him out,” while imitating that he was just rubbing his nose as one does. Eventually Khan and the Strikers went on to win the match by 18 runs and it was the Afghan who was named the Player of the Match. During the most-game ceremony, the cricketer as asked about the incident and he said: “I had started my celebration as well, I was shocked that the umpire changed the decision.” While this looks like something that would not have taken place in the past, some seasoned fans of Indian cricket would remember one such incident taking place over two decades ago in 1997 to be exact. Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja's wicket got saved in the most unusual way possible when umpire Raman Sharma raised the finger to show him out but changed his decision midway and fixed his hat instead. That happened to be the last match Sharma officiated. ð² pic.twitter.com/vdXNynDDs9 — Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) March 19, 2017 And even though the umpire did a good job switching it up at the last moment, he didn't fool anyone: A surprise for both batsman and bowler: Pleasant and annoying, all at once, and fun to witness. — Rohit (@newsbelly2) December 29, 2019 This is one of the funniest things I've seen in cricket! 9. Samsung usually launches a new Galaxy flagship every year in February and we are only months away from the official release of the next Galaxy S series smartphone. Most people would assume that the next smartphone would be called “Galaxy S11”, however it seems like Samsung is going to ditch the annual nomenclature and instead call it the Galaxy S20. © MensXP/Akshay-Bhalla This information comes from renowned Samsung leaker Ice Universe on Twitter who tweeted "Galaxy S20, Next year is 2020, and 20 is a new beginning." Ice Universe has been accurate with leaks in the past and this new naming scheme could turn out to be true given the reasons behind it. It seems like the start of the new decade would also mark the inception of the Galaxy S20. Next year is 2020, and 20 is a new beginning. — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) December 24, 2019 Smartphone companies tend to jump numbers when naming their smartphones as Apple never released an iPhone 9 and instead jumped straight to the iPhone X. Similarly, Samsung also never released the Galaxy Note 6 and jumped to Galaxy Note 7 even though it didn't work according to the plan in the end. © MensXP/Akshay-Bhalla Having said that, skipping to Galaxy S20 might be confusing to many consumers if the messaging is not on point by Samsung. Regardless of what it is called, the Galaxy S11 or S20 will be packed with powerful specifications if the rumours are to be believed. It is rumoured to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor and 5G capabilities. In terms of cameras, the next flagship is expected to come with 108MP primary sensor and other cameras for different modes. Sooner or later, these specifications will be confirmed when the smartphone launches in February. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will call it the Galaxy S11 or Galaxy S20. 14. NASA's Voyager 2 probe has reached a destination that we can only dream of. The probe has reached the interstellar space, a space outside the Heliosphere. It's worth pointing out that it's the second craft to reach the interstellar space, despite setting off a month ahead of its twin, the Voyager 1. But you know what? Voyager 2's journey has given us a never-seen-before image of our solar system. It's the most detailed look yet at the edge and we know what it really looks like. Here, take a look: © NASA What you see above is an illustration showing the positions of both the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 outside the heliosphere. Can you see the boundary that surrounds our solar system? Well, the Voyager 1 had confirmed that it existed, but the new measurements sent across by the Voyager 2 has now given us more insights like its shape, thickness, and more. For those of you who don't know, the heliosphere is sort of a boundary that surrounds our solar system. As the folks over at The Guardian noted, it's where the charged particles rushing outwards from the sun at supersonic speeds meet a cooler wind blowing in from supernovae that exploded millions of years ago. © NASA The finds and the relevant measurements sent by the Voyager 2 have been published in five separate papers, each one detailing a different finding. Looks like the heliosphere boundary is much thinner than what the Voyager 1 informed us about. It's also worth pointing out that the shape of this bubble appears to be something like a blunt bullet and it's said to be symmetric in nature. With all that being said, it's safe to say that there's an extra layer outside our solar system, a mysterious finding that's only been made possible by the info sent by the Voyager 2. Obviously, it's hard to exactly pinpoint the findings sent across by the Voyager 2, but we're glad the NASA scientists have some new data to work with. We're also glad to hear that the signal from Voyager 2 is still beaming back and it takes more than 16 hours to reach the Earth. It's twelve billion miles away from us after all. It uses a 22.4-watt transmitter, which has a power equivalent to a fridge light. The beam, which fades by more than a billion times, is picked by a 70-meter dish down here by NASA. Let's hope we continue to get signals from the probe and get to know more about our solar system and beyond. View the full article
  15. Walking in line with other industry outsiders like Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu has become something of an unconventional hit amongst Bollywood fans. She also added that she's definitely a realist when it comes to relationships. “This concept of do jism, ek jaan is totally filmy and impractical. We should lead our own different lives but like each other's company, and should want to spend our lives as partners, not as one soul--that concept is something that I don't really buy.” View this post on Instagram Looking back at life be like... 17. The unfortunate news of Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan being ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2019 due to a fractured left thumb has left a huge hole at the top of the Indian batting lineup. Although, in the match against Pakistan, we did see KL Rahul step up to the occasion and form a great 100-run plus opening partnership, the void of the veteran lefty batsman is definitely going to be the most difficult to fill. Dhawan went down with the injury like a warrior. Having the base of his left thumb cracked, thanks to a deadly bouncer by Pat Cummins early on in the match between India and Australia at The Oval in London, the left-handed batsman went on to play a massive innings worth 117 runs, that not only made him the 'Man of the Match' but also led Team India to win one of the more challenging games of the ongoing tournament. View this post on Instagram ð¸ð¸ð®ð³ #TeamIndia A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam) on Jun 9, 2019 at 5:04am PDT The exit of the southpaw from the world championship got the team selectors in a bit of a fix, as they had to choose between an experienced and sturdy batsman in Ambati Rayudu and zealous and explosive Rishabh Pant. The management decided to go with the latter with the hopes of providing a fresh boost to the middle order. It is well documented that the only problem with Team India, is the weak and struggling middle order. Before the World Cup began, it was still being managed by former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni but even the Ranchi-born seems to have lost his form off-late. Whenever India have tasted success while batting in either of the innings, it only comes if the batting partnership in the initial stages of the match is formed. Rohit Sharma and Dhawan have been doing it for years and on Sunday, Sharma and Rahul did it as well. View this post on Instagram HITMAN ðð #TeamIndia A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam) on Jun 16, 2019 at 4:40am PDT However with some good games against teams with brilliant bowlers like England and West Indies still ahead of them, we can't be certain of a solid opening partnership, especially due to the lack of experience of Sharma and Rahul playing together at number one and two spots, which, by the way, was also evident during their previous fleet against Sarfaraz Ahmed's men. Under such conditions, Rishabh Pant, who would most probably take the crease as the fourth batsman after Virat Kohli, will be expected to take the lead and put up big numbers on the scoreboard for his side. An extremely skilled and talented batsman who is a natural hitter, Pant played his last ODI match against Australia on 13th March during which he found himself to be cheaply dismissed (16 runs) at the hands of Nathan Lyon in a losing effort. The 21-year-old has been put under the microscope and criticised for his inability to stick to the crease for long and play a 50-over innings. So, when Pant is being brought in to play on the biggest platform there is in international cricket with such little experience, the amount of pressure on his young shoulders has to be immense. View this post on Instagram Donning the blue for the nation is a feeling nothing else can even come close to ðð» Wishing Team India a killer run to the ð Bring it home boys !! Here's hoping all the success that Pant deserves and should get this World Cup.

  19. Once considered to be just a temporary fix unless one got a 'real job', bartending has evolved into a full-blown profession in India, so much so, that skilled barmen from all over the country are competing among themselves to see who the best in the business it. Scotch brand Monkey Shoulder decided to bring together some of the most talented and skilled bartenders to lock horns in a multi-level 'Ultimate Bartender Championship' for their fourth straight season in the country with the second leg of the contest taking place at AMPM, Cyber Hub, Gurgaon on Tuesday. The idea behind the competition is to help these professionals get better at what they can do and also have a little bit of exposure beyond the bar counter as well. After gruelling levels of testing the various aspects that make a great barman, 20 finalists will be selected from the major metropolitan cities with the ultimate winner getting the chance to perform at the London Cocktail Week in October. The highest-scorer from North region, Akhilesh Sheoran working with Together At 12th – Le Meridien, Gurgaon commented saying, “Bartending is a passion for me, and I am very excited to be competing at the globally recognized event.” © Top Scorer from Gurgaon - Akhilesh Sheoran with Pankaj Balachandran Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder We caught up with one of the leading bartenders of the country and the Indian brand ambassador of Monkey Shoulder, Pankaj Balachandran on the contest and what it takes to be successful in this highly creative, innovative and competitive industry: “The culture of bartending in India is growing at a very fast rate. In the last 10 years of my professional career as a bartender, I have travelled a lot of European and South Asian countries and I can confidently say that in the next five to ten years, India will be the leading destination for the cocktail industry and every brand in the world has their eyes on India. It is a good time to be in the bar industry in India.” “I think bartending is the best job if you have the passion for it. While a lot of people think that it is an easy job, I am here to tell you that it isn't. You have to work for a minimum of 10-12 hours, and you have so much prep work to do.” “You are working on the ingredients, you are serving the customers, you are regularly cleaning up your space and then, of course, you are preparing the drinks as well. So, basically, while making delicious cocktails, a bartender also works as a chef, a server and also the housekeeping.” “If you have the passion for it, the sky 's the limit for you. My parents said things like 'Oh! You are going to become a cleaner or a cook' because the profession was new and people did not respect the waiters or bartenders back then but the situation has changed drastically in the last 10 years. I have seen people who went to good colleges, who used to earn good money and had 'real jobs' leave everything and join bartending.” “When I started off as a Management Trainee at the Taj, I began with a pay slip worth 15 grand but that has changed. Good bartenders are now pulling massive salaries like 1.5 - 2 lakh per month, which is amazing! It almost feels as if they were hired by Google or NASA.” “The biggest lesson that I can give to aspiring bartenders out there is to stay humble and be open to learning throughout your life. A lot of barmen, if they do well in such competitions, feel like they deserve a salary double of what they used to earn and feel like they know everything and this is where they get stagnant in their career.” “Money will come but the limes still need to be squeezed.”
  20. Vivek Oberoi has become the hot topic of discussion over the meme he posted comparing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's personal relationships to the 2019 Exit Polls. 21. Be it 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' or 'Mary Kom', biopics based on sports stars are a sure shot formula for success and filmmakers are always eager to tap into this arena. Bollywood is increasingly looking to sports for inspiration for their stories, and with good reason too. We have had many biopics that have had a successful run at the box office. Earlier, reports stated that Tiger Shroff had been approached for the biopic on Indian football legend Bhaichung Bhutia, which will be helmed by Anand Kumar. Talking about the development, our source said, “Tiger had gone to meet Anand Kumar. Yes, he was approached for the movie and he did like the script. But, his dates and schedules are tightly packed. He might say a no to doing the biopic. That's what is known till now. Tiger is not saying anything official for now. 22. Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan in a movie together? It's surely a hard pill to digest but reports floating around suggest that the dimpled beauty has finally given a nod to sharing screen space with Khan in 'Kick 2'. Their pairing has been on the cards for a long time, but nothing really materialized. If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, the two will be seen in one frame now. For all their fans, it will surely be a visual delight. A source told the entertainment website that Deepika was the first choice for 'Kick' but things back then didn't really pan out. Jacqueline Fernandez stepped into the role and it was a turning point in her career. The source added that Deepika's role has been given full attention. "Deepika can't play just a typical Salman heroine. Her role has to be as powerful as Salman's. Sajid is working on it, injecting heft into the female lead," said the source. © Instagram/Colors Wondering why the two superstars possibly coming together for 'Kick 2' is a massive development? It's because the two have a history and not a particularly pleasant one. By history, we mean their statements about each other in the public domain weren't too pleasing. Salman, in a statement, had called depression a luxury and said that he can't afford to be depressed as it will work against him. This didn't go down pretty well with the 'Piku' actor and she gave it back saying, "Depression is sometimes perceived as a luxury... (But) It is important to break that myth." Deepika has rejected not one but six big movies with Salman Khan. But now, if this development turns out to be true, it seems like the two have let bygones be bygones. Are you excited to see Deepika and Salman in one frame? Let us know in the comments section below.
  23. It's pretty hard to keep up with acquisitions in the tech world. A lot of companies change hands constantly, so it becomes very difficult to keep a track of everything that's happening. And in Apple's case, it's even more complex, because it's picking up companies all the time and Apple doesn't always tell the world when it buys another company. While playing for the same franchise, Pollard and Pandya, and Mumbai Indians, have been loyal to each other through the thick and thins of the team's 12-year-long journey and have reaped the benefits of being a part of the most successful IPL team with three championships (tied with MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings). © Twitter/IPL And while this season has not been MI's best, they are still on their way to qualifying for the top four spot of the IPL playoffs by winning 7 of their 12 matches and a total of 14 points in their hands and it is safe to say that on a lot of occasions, the MIPaltan needed some superhuman performances to get out of trouble and the duo of Pandya and Pollard got to work, especially in the death overs. “Even when he came onto the scene, if you remember, in a couple of games for Mumbai (Indians), he finished off with his big hits. He is a small guy but hits the ball a long way. And once he continues to practice well and continues to evolve as a cricketer, you can see him doing great things not only for Mumbai Indians but (also for) Indian cricket,” the Windies legend praised a 25-year-old Hardik Pandya. © Twitter/IPL Pandya, who was in a bit of a fix ahead of the league began as he suffered from a stiff lower back and a life-time of humiliation for his comments at a popular talk-show, has finally collated enough courage to go out there and let his bat do the talking. “It is matter (sic) of him having the confidence and you giving him the confidence for him to believe in himself, because he is one of those guys who is free-spirited and just goes out and tries to use his youthful exuberance to have an impact on the game,” said Pollard, who has been by Pandya's side for ages now.
  25. Last evening's Indian Premier League match between Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore produced some really incredible moments of the 2019 season of the league. The thrilling last-minute drama with the brilliant direct hit by the RCB wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel allowed his side to win the third game of the season in a nail-biter. However, the innings played by the former Indian skipper has to be the talk of the town. While scoring his career best in the IPL (83 not out), Dhoni looked and played like his old self when he was challenging the age-old techniques of some of the greatest batsmen of the game with his unorthodox style and brute power. Mahi came to play and was focused from the first delivery, scoring a boundary at the deep point. We also got to see the finesse and creativity of the batter that he gathered and evolved through the years and years of playing international cricket as he smoothly directed a wide ball towards the deep fine leg. This career best performance consisted of five fours and a barrage of sixes, one of which was the longest any cricketer had hit this season at 111 metres, with the ball going out of the M. Chinnaswamy stadium onto the busy roads of Bangalore. What looked like an out-of-hand game for the 'Whistle Podu' franchise, came to the final delivery thanks to the superhuman game played by Dhoni. However, with a dot ball and a failed single, his efforts did not lead to a win. Nonetheless, Dhoni's efforts were recognised by the world: Dhoni for PM. It's not just about striking, it's about backing himself & being calculative. Top innings from him.
