  1. Salman Khan has always maintained that he does not give much credit to the reviews by the critics, instead, it's the box office collection which is the key validating factor to a movie's success. Salman's latest release 'Bharat', which is an official remake of the South Korean film 'Ode to My Father', started off on a great note but then lost its pace at the box office market and now, it looks like it has run out of steam. The movie has managed to earn Rs 188.65 crore at the ticket windows and is struggling to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics, as some called it bland while some termed it the perfect Eid blockbuster. We wonder if the movie will be able to make Rs 200 crore at the box office. 'Bharat' was released on 4,700 screens in India and on over 1,300 screens overseas. In one of the group interviews, while promoting the movie, Salman said, “My validation comes from the box office collections... that the people have liked or not liked a film. It doesn't make a difference if someone (a critic) has given it so many stars (ratings) or ridiculed the film. It's their bread and butter. God bless them, give them two more (slices of) bread.” View this post on Instagram Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown towards 'Bharat' #BharatAudienceReactions @bharat_thefilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife #BhushanKumar @katrinakaif @tabutiful @apnabhidu @sonalikul @dishapatani @whosunilgrover @norafatehi @iaasifsheikhofficial @nikhilnamit @reellifeproduction @skfilmsofficial @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Jun 13, 2019 at 3:03am PDT Now that the movie is struggling to touch the Rs 200 crore mark, we wonder what Salman has to say seeing the current scenario. 'Bharat' is produced by Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. The film also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. Have you seen the movie? Let us know in the comments section below.
  2. A Salman Khan movie on Eid is what we call 'sone pe suhaga'. Salman has always managed to block the occasion of Eid for his big releases and this time is no different either. We have 'Bharat' releasing on June 5. Fans are eagerly waiting as Salman is coming back with Ali Abbas Zafar. Considering 'Sultan' and 'Tiger Zinda Ha' were hits, there are a lot of expectations from this film too. For the uninitiated, the film is an official remake of the Korean drama, 'An Ode To My Father' and will see Salman sporting 5 different looks over the span of 70 years. View this post on Instagram When Bharat & crew went aboard on an actual ship! #BharatInMalta (Link in bio) @bharat_thefilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife #BhushanKumar @katrinakaif @tabutiful @apnabhidu @sonalikul @dishapatani @whosunilgrover @norafatehi @iaasifsheikhofficial @nikhilnamit @reellifeproduction @skfilmsofficial @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on May 29, 2019 at 10:30pm PDT Well, a Salman movie does come loaded with star power but last two Eid releases, 'Tubelight' and 'Race 3', didn't work well. Clearly, the wave of cinema is changing and content is the only winner. Yes, Salman has that star power but can he help the cause of a movie if the content is not what the audience appreciates? You know the answer. View this post on Instagram âª#Bharat #Eid2019 ⬠A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on May 21, 2019 at 6:16am PDT But you can't ignore the fact Ali is the captain of the ship and you can trust that 'Bharat' would do well. Before the big release, MensXP got in touch with the Trade Experts to know if Salman Khan's 'Bharat' would be a blockbuster or if it would be a dud like that of 'Tubelight' and 'Race 3'. Here's what they have to say: Atul Mohan Let's not ignore the fact the highest grossing Eid release was 'Sultan' with Ali Abbas Zafar in 2016. 'Tubelight' (2017) and 'Race 3' (2018) were not really great films. Salman coming back with Ali is surely one of the highlights and this would be their third collaboration after 'Sultan' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai'. Both films have been blockbusters. This Eid, you have a successful actor-director Jodi. I think this time I feel you have the factor of Ali Abbas that will come into play. I feel the buzz is in general low because of the two back-to-back failed Eid releases. The excitement level is not high, but at the end of the day, it all depends on the content. Ali has always represented Salman very differently and it would surely help to get the viewers to come to the theatres. This time, we will get to see Salman in different avatars. It's an official adaptation of 'An Ode To My Father' which is also considered as landmark cinema. Talking about box office numbers, I am sure they are very confident about their content and that's why they are releasing on June 5. According to me, the movie will mint around Rs 25 crores on Day 1. Salman has an altogether different aura. At the end of the day, the content should be good and nothing can stop it from being a hit. View this post on Instagram Come witness an extraordinary Journey of an ordinary Man #ZindaSong (Full Song Link in bio) @bharat_thefilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife #BhushanKumar @katrinakaif @tabutiful @apnabhidu @sonalikul @dishapatani @whosunilgrover @norafatehi @iaasifsheikhofficial #JuliusPackiam @vishaldadlani @nikhilnamit @reellifeproduction @skfilmsofficial @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on May 17, 2019 at 1:58am PDT Girish Johar See, expectations from the film are quite high because of the two factors. First, because it's Salman's Eid release and the second is that he is coming back with Ali Abbas Zafar. Ali has been a winner at the box office. The trailer and the songs have been doing pretty well. But, at the end of the day, it's based on the content that the audience would decide if it matches their expectations or not. On the face of it, it is not going to take a huge start. Salman Khan fans would be thronging the theatres as it's Eid release. I am sure people would at least watch it once. It's positioned itself well but if the content is not as great as that of 'Kalank', nothing really can be done. I, somehow, feel the movie might earn around Rs 35 crores on its first day. View this post on Instagram 'Journey of a man and a nation together' #BharatTrailer Trailer link in the Bio! @bharat_thefilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife #BhushanKumar @katrinakaif @tabutiful @apnabhidu @sonalikul @dishapatani @whosunilgrover @norafatehi @iaasifsheikhofficial @nikhilnamit @reellifeproduction @skfilmsofficial @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Apr 22, 2019 at 1:30am PDT Akshaye Rathi Traditionally, we believe that movies don't work on Ramzan but then you had 'Baahubali' that's one of the biggest hits that released during Ramzan. Nothing matters if the content has its own merit and Ali has already proved it through his movies. He has instilled that faith in us. To me, Ali is the strongest link despite Salman being the terrific actor that he is. If the script is weak like that of 'Tubelight' or 'Race 3', even a Salman Khan beyond a point can't do much to save the film. It's more about content and classic example is of Vicky Kaushal's 'URI'. The star only adds to the opening figures because of the stardom. The producers of the film are lucky to have Ali Abbas on board as a director. Seeing his track record and not just with Salman, we can say that the magic would work. Considering all the factors in mind, I feel the movie should earn nothing less than Rs 35 crores on Day 1. What's your bet? Are you planning to watch 'Bharat' on June 5? Let us know in the comments section below.
  3. It's almost time for one of the biggest launches of the year and there's now a new leak which has nothing to do with the phone. Instead, we get to see everything that will be launching alongside the new OnePlus smartphones. The leaked images look more like the reviewer's box which includes everything from the smartphone to the accessories. © Twitter_Ishan Agarwal The leaked image gives us a glimpse of everything else OnePlus is planning to launch. At first glance, you see the OnePlus Wireless Bullets 2 which is rumoured to be a triple-driver Bluetooth earphone similar to what 1MORE makes. Apart from the wireless OnePlus bullets, the Chinese company is also looking to launch a Warp Charge 30 car charger. © Twitter_Linus Tech Tips The OnePlus 7 Pro also reveals that the in-car charger will be based on the Warp Charge 30 charger that was introduced with the McLaren edition of the OnePlus 6T. This also kind of confirms that the wall charger will be the same as the McLaren edition as well. © Twitter_Ishan Agarwal The leak of the images came from an accidental tweet by Linus Tech Tips and more were shared by Ishan Agarwal on Twitter. The images shared by Mr Agarwal show more details about the packaging; however, the actual device has not been pictured yet. The packaging has the 'Go Beyond Speed' tagline we've seen in previous rumours. However, the accessories in the box are what impressed us the most and we can't wait to check them out ourselves.
  4. There's no need to bet on the fact that 'Avengers: Endgame' is surely one of the most anticipated films of the year 2019. Just two days are left for the release and the fans can't keep calm. If you have booked your tickets well in advance, then you're probably bubbling with anticipation over how the movie will turn out. There's a rush among fans to see the movie on the very first day and if you are a hardcore Marvel fan and you have not been able to book the ticket, we can totally understand your pain. It's common knowledge that the barometer of any film's success rate is the box office opening. The more the movie mints, the more it attracts the audience to watch it on the big screen. Interestingly, 'Avengers: Endgame' will wrap the storylines that have been shown in the last 21 films. It's the ultimate finale and that's why the craze. Since the box office is one of the biggest parameters of the success rate of a film, we got in touch with Trade and Film Expert, Girish Johar, to know the Day 1 prediction for Endgame. © Twitter/girishjohar "The craze for 'Avengers: Endgame' is unprecedented. It's not only in India but we can see it globally. In China, the midnight screenings broke the record of 'Fast and Furious' by three times and that's not really a small thing. It has crushed the previous records and the same is expected in India. Advance bookings have gone berserk and fans have gone crazy. I, honestly, expect mayhem at the box office. They have already cloaked in a million tickets in advance which is great. It will shatter the old box office records and new ones will be set with 'Avengers: Endgame'," Girish said. "The screenings are yet to be locked by today. I envisage around Rs 50 crores plus on Day 1 including all the languages. The screens are being increased by each passing day. The audience is hungry and wants to see it. Even after ticket pricing being high, fans are still thronging so it shows the craze the people have for the franchise," added Girish. Are you excited to watch 'Avengers: Endgame' this weekend? Tell us in the comments below.
  5. Salman 'bhai' is back with his 'Eid' gift for fans all over the globe. The trailer of his much-awaited 'Bharat' finally dropped a few minutes ago and before we talk about it, let's have a look at it. Ali Abbas Zafar is back with Katrina and Salman as a team in a tried and tested formula which looks like it will be a super hit. The movie also stars Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles and is a remake of the Korean hit, 'An Ode To My Father'. The movie follows a chronology of India over six decades and Salman Khan will be donning five different looks in the movie. Salman's character is also named 'Bharat' which is like a metaphorical representation of the country itself. SKF The trailer stays true to a typical Salman 'bhai' movie. It has good background score, the enigma of Salman himself, lovely ladies to add more value to the script and a whole 'over the top' vibe. Fans are absolutely loving the trailer already. #BharatTrailer is out now Owesome trailer...it could be the biggest blockbuster of the year Please go and watch pic.twitter.com/3ClMkR2HHU — SalmanKhanfc (@itsSalmanKhanfc) April 22, 2019 Going by the merits of #BharatTrailer, BONAFIDE BLOCKBUSTER is a given. Seems @beingsalmankhan has delivered his most fervid performance till date. Trailer is Perfect blend of mass & class. Katrina nails it. @aliabbaszafar “does whatever it takes” https://t.co/QlsxPYJIpW — Sumit kadel (@SumitkadeI) April 22, 2019 Salman's last spell at the box-office was a dud in the form of 'Race 3' but knowing the actor, he always bounces back, thanks to the kind of movies he makes, which have many takers out there. The movie is releasing on 5th June this year, so we have something grand to look forward to this Eid, like every Eid. Get ready to witness the journey of a man and a nation together.
  6. John Abraham's second innings as an on-screen spy in espionage thriller 'Romeo Akbar Walter' has finally hit the theaters today. After his successful streak of good luck with a number of patriotic films in the recent times, the audience was looking for a similar experience even this time around. © Viacom 18 The audience was looking for a film with a good plot, strong characters, and a direction that's capable of driving the story, but unfortunately, the initial Twitter reviews have called Abraham's 'RAW' a “raw” deal. A disappointment across the spectrum. © Viacom 18 The recurrent complaint related to the film was that the plot's dullness, and that the film seems to just drag on and sluggish to the point of boredom. While John Abraham has often been called out for this stoical acting, of lack of it, in front of the camera, this time film-goers seemed to have found better things to bash in the film instead of John's acting calibre. © Viacom 18 Movie-goers have found worse elements that plague the film. 'RAW' director Robby Grewal is being bashed by Twitter users for his unsatisfactory vision and execution. The screenplay and even the theme is said to be questionable, and people are simply not buying into the makers' half-baked nationalism. After seeing disappointing reviews of #RAW I can now understand why it took Robby Grewal 10 years to direct another film. His last movie as a director was Aloo Chaat in 2009. It took him a decade to get producers for his new movie.#RomeoAkbarWalter #RAWreview — Chowkidar Vivek Sharma (@TheVivekSharma) April 5, 2019 Here is what Twitter users have reviewed John Abraham's 'Romeo Akbar Walter': Slow and predictable Story Good as one liner but present poorly.. However, with the rest of the weekend ahead of us, things are expected to get a little better. We hope it doesn't bomb as terribly as it is being predicted.

  8. Amazon will be using self-driving robots to deliver packages in the near future but testing has already begun in Seattle. It was developed at Amazon's R&D lab and is designed to avoid pedestrians, pets or anything else in its path. In theory, it works similar to the suitcase that follows you around. It sort of resembles a small Ice Box which will house packages inside it for Amazon customers. © Amazon Amazon says “the devices will autonomously follow their delivery route but will initially be accompanied by an Amazon employee. We developed Amazon Scout at our research and development lab in Seattle, ensuring the devices can safely and efficiently navigate around pets, pedestrians and anything else in their path." © Amazon The robot is called “Amazon Scout” and can roll on sidewalks that can navigate around obstacles. At the moment, Amazon will use six robots to make deliveries this week; although it will be accompanied by an Amazon employee. The robot will have a few hurdles to face such as extreme weather conditions, steep inclines, curbs and other engineering challenges, which is why it's not certain when we can see it being used in the mainstream places. Previously, Amazon was testing out drones for delivering packages; however, we have not seen that idea come to fruition as of yet. © YouTube Amazon already uses robots to move inventory in their warehouses. However, considering those robots have a pre-defined path, using robots in the real world can be risky. Having said that, Amazon is not the only company tapping into robot delivery as other startups are also looking into this technology. Amazon Scout, on the other hand, cannot replace trucks that carry loads of packages. However, it can be used at the last phase of delivery. If you want to know how the delivery robot will work, you can watch the video below:

The movie has received great reviews and has been hailed as a total “paisa vasool” movie of 2018. Not only that, but 'Simmba' also became Rohit Shetty's eighth consecutive 100-crore movie at the box office. © Red chillies Entertainment 2013 release 'Chennai Express' starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan was a super hit at the box office and was declared as a complete package when it came to thrilling entertainment. In 'Simmba', Ranveer Singh is seen essaying the role of a corrupt policeman called Sangram Bhalerao who undergoes a complete transformation after a life-changing incident. The film stars Sara Ali Khan as Ranveer's love interest Shagun in the film, while Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Siddhartha Jadhav also play pivotal roles in the movie.
  10. From Munna's 'jaadu ki jhappi' that became synonymous to every grateful/friendly hug we passed around amongst friends, to Rancho's 'aal izz well' that popularly transformed into a national emotion, every film under Rajkumar Hirani's direction bears an interesting sentimental connect, only few other Bollywood directors have been able to deliver. The Lesser Known Backstory Regarded as one of India's most successful and critically acclaimed filmmaker, Rajkumar Hirani is a commerce graduate, who became exceedingly interested in the films and theatre much against his parents' wishes. © Twitter An active participant in theatre groups during college, Raju Hirani's father got him enrolled in an acting school in Mumbai, but he ended up staying there for just 3 days. Later he ended up getting a scholarship for a film editing course, and thus began his filmy journey - or so he thought. Destiny At Play Destiny seemed to have a different path laid out for Rajkumar Hirani, as initial failures and rejections saw him shift base to the advertising sector. He tasted some big successes in the industry, but his passion to make films pushed him to break away from advertising. This is when he started working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra as an editor in films, but his big break came with 'Mission Kashmir' in 2000 where he was taken onboard as the film editor. © Twitter The Big Directorial Debut Rajkumar Hirani made his directorial debut with 'Munnabhai MBBS' in 2003, which was a major hit with the audiences nationwide, and became a classic cult movie of sorts. This was followed by 'Lage raho Munnabhai' in 2006, which brought Hirani a significant amount of critical acclaim. The cultural impact of the movie, which popularised Gandhigiri all across the country, put him on the national radar of directors to watch out for. What Makes Him Special When friends in the industry refer to him, their vocabulary comprises of words such as 'sincere' and 'modest' - he is known as the man who is unperturbed by the fame he enjoys. He is seems to enjoy his disconnect with the temporal world - the unworldliness which also transfers to the characters in his movies. Be it PK, Rancho or Munnabhai, all of them bear an air of unworldliness around them. Boman Irani was quoted by Business World as saying that, “He is no different on the sets than he is elsewhere. He is a great conversationalist. But the reason why he's a great filmmaker is that he considers the opinion of everyone. He's very open to criticism. There is nothing highfalutin about him, despite all the success." This only seems to reflect the larger opinion that people hold about the filmmaker. Not just that, Hirani's movies seem to be a manifestation of his personal ideologies that resonate with the masses. © Reuters No matter which movie you wish to consider, the well-crafted cultural bridges evident in Hirani's movies, along with the socially poignant messages that he throws in with his direction, screenplay and dialogues make for a stellar watch every single time. Film critic, Rajeev Masand also points out the ideosyncracies that are innate to every Raju Hirani movie, and had this to say about Hirani's style of direction as seen in 'Sanju', “In trademark Hirani fashion, the film is both moving and humorous,” which again is a recurring trope that marks most of his movies. Hirani's strength lies in building a connect with his audiences, and offering something for every audience age-group. The message and story that Hirani therefore translates onto frames is commendable and thus, it doesn't come as a shock when you find out he is one of the few directors who have the maximum amount of hits in the box office! The Best Of Raju Hirani Rajkumar Hirani carries the name of some of the best movies Bollywood has ever produced, under his belt. 'Munnabhai MBBS' based on the life and struggles of the goon who had his heart in the right place was an exposé on rampant discrimination in the medical sector. On the other hand, 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' is a rewriting of Gandhigiri in contemporary times, whereas '3 Idiots' was a scathing criticism of the India's current state of education. Similarly, 'PK' was a direct attack on India's obsession with religious fanaticism and love for superstitions. © Reuters More recently, 'Sanju' brought Hirani critical acclaim for his vision and more than perfect execution of it, to tell a story that needed to be heard. Whitewashing or not, the movie made for a good watch. Rajkumar Hirani has presented the Indian film-goers with marvellous stories that shall be cherished by movie enthusiasts for many years to come.
  11. When it comes to superheroes, most of us have our favourites from either Marvel or DC. This is a rivalry that was created long back and will always be open to debate. When it comes to movies, Marvel is the clear winner, if we consider box office performances, while DC is struggling with scripts. The last movies of a DC superhero that I truly loved was the Batman Trilogy, although they weren't the part of DC cinematic universe. Despite the below par performance of DC movies, I still enjoy them more than I enjoy the ones by Marvel, though. Following are the reasons which strengthen my argument that DC is better than Marvel: 1. Character Depth It was a delight to see the transformation of Bruce Wayne from the 'Batman Trilogy to 'Batman vs. Superman'. Where Nolan's Bruce was younger and more optimistic, DCEU's Bruce was mature and slightly darker. This transformation was brilliantly scripted because usually when we see a superhero, there's hardly any change in the character. But the character development here was astonishing and overwhelming. © Warner Bros. This is where Marvel lacks. Except for suits & the beard of Captain America, Marvel has barely changed anything in its superheroes. The cocky-ness of Iron Man is great but eventually, it gets boring seeing it again and again. 2. Toughness I would like to blame Disney for this one. Remember 'The Incredible Hulk'? He was scary! One would think twice before messing with him. Then Disney came into the picture & suddenly the Hulk turned into a PG-13 version of his former self. © Universal Pictures What we saw after that was a soft Hulk and a series of 'childish' movies. Apart from Logan, no other movie of a Marvel superhero is good enough for an adult fan. They are soft, the storyline is not deep, and they barely scratch the surface when it comes to dark villains. Against the entire MCU, just one guy from DC is enough – Superman. 3. Posters Posters from Marvel movies are, well, boring! They are clean, quiet & again, lack the depth. On the other hand, posters from DC movies are stirring and dark, like the franchise itself. © Marvel From the Marvel posters, we get the feel of a family film which we should watch with kids. And that is certainly not a compliment if you're a diehard superhero fan. 4. Embracing The Dark Side Marvel is all about fighting against villains and saving the world. DC is much more than that. DC openly shows the struggles of superheroes. Remember 'Justice League'? Batman knew he was old now. Contrary to his popular belief, he accepted he can't work alone. © Warner Bros. Remember 'Wonder Woman'? The movie was more about her internal struggle to stay home or to be set free in the outside world and less about defeating the villain. You don't see such depths in Marvel movies. Maybe in 'Infinity War', but it was still an 'Ohh, there's a bad guy. Let's defeat him' kinda movie. Marvel needs to grow up! 5. TV Series If we compare the first season of 'Arrow' and 'Daredevil', the former was way better. I'll tell you why! 'Arrow' developed the character from scratch. There was a background associated with each and every move that he learned. A flashback where we got to see how our superhero learned various techniques and his struggles to survive torturous conditions. © The CW When I watched 'Daredevil', all I found was some blind guy who trained some blind kid. That's it! There was no 'how.' That's why I found Season 1 of 'Daredevil' to be one of the most overrated seasons. To sum it up, Marvel lacks maturity. It is no longer the world where superheroes are just for kids. I can't say that I could ever find Iron Man better than Batman, but at least Marvel can try to make films keeping the adult audience in mind.
