  5. We all have tried to capture the moon in our phones and cameras and the pictures come out nowhere even close to what we look at in the sky. However, astrophotographers have the right equipment and skills to take images that are even beyond the human eye. A young student and aspiring astrophotographer has managed to click the clearest snapshot of the moon ever and even professionals are stunned by the breathtaking photos. © Instagram/Prathamesh Jaju Prathmesh Jaju, a 16-year-old student from Pune is an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer whose latest photo series of the moon is going viral for all the right reasons. His snapshots are incredibly detailed and the clearest of the moon. © Instagram/The Unorthodox Indian He took more than 50,000 photos of the third quarter Mineral Moon and stitched them together which took him a day and a half to process. In an interview with ANI, Jaju said, “I captured the image on May 3 at 1 am. I captured for around four hours with videos and images. It took 38-40 hours for processing. The reason behind 50,000 pictures was to get the clearest picture of the moon.” © Instagram/Prathamesh Jaju He learned to stitch the photos together from YouTube videos and also learned processing. He said, “I stitched them together and sharpened the image to see crisp details of the moon. The raw data was 100 GB and after processing it, the data turned bigger so it was around 186 GB. When I stitched them together, the final file was around 600 MB.” © Instagram/Prathamesh Jaju He posted some images on his Instagram account and shared in the caption, “I captured around 50,000+ images over 186 GigaBytes of Data which almost killed my laptop with the processing.” Jaju has more than 4,3000 followers and keeps on sharing his work on his social media account. © Instagram/Prathamesh Jaju He also talked about the different colour tones seen on the moon in the pictures. They depict different areas and the amount of ilmenite present in them. He wrote on social media, “Our eyes cannot resolute the colours of the minerals on the moon. The blue tones reveal areas rich in ilmenite which contains iron, titanium and oxygen. While the orange and purple colours show regions relatively poor in titanium and iron. The white/grey tomes refer to areas of greater exposure to sunlight.” © Instagram/Prathamesh Jaju Talking about his future plans, he said, “I want to become an astrophysicist and study astronomy professionally but astrophotography is just a hobby for me right now.” We wish him all the best! But, so many of us were robbed of observing this incredible thing because of the pollution in the sky but we still have pictures to marvel at. One such picture that managed to capture not just the two planets, but also our largest moons of Jupiter was clicked by an Indian photographer. View the full article
  10. Owing to his scary eyes, throbbing veins and a chainsaw celebration, Dale Steyn established himself as one of the most feared fast bowlers in the modern era of cricket. His intimidating physical attributes are adequately backed by extreme pace, pin-point accuracy and ability to swing the ball both ways - the pivotal elements that saw him getting the better of some of the best in business. However, the persistent drive to bowl quick took a toll on Steyn's career that has been plagued by injuries. For almost an eighteen-month period - between the end of 2016 and mid-2018, the South African paceman could only play one Test due to repeated injuries. While the South African fans were worried, others contemplated the end of Steyn. © Reuters But, contrary to popular perception, Steyn returned to the field and is now nearing his best. During the Pakistan's recent tour of South Africa, Steyn was consistently clocked at speeds in the mid-140kph range, for the first time in years. And, now against Sri Lanka, the 35-year-old has not only been seen bowling the long, fast spells he was once associated with, Steyn took it a notch up by claiming an individual record. Most wickets for pace bowlers in Test history:@jimmy9 – 575@glennmcgrath11 – 563@CuddyWalsh – 519@DaleSteyn62 – 437@StuartBroad8 – 437 pic.twitter.com/QX1xQpmB8g — ICC (@ICC) February 14, 2019 With his outswingers humming and bouncers looking menacing again, the South African wreaked havoc against the hapless Lankans to record impressive figures of 4-48 in the first innings of the 1st Test at Durban. While the right-arm seamer couldn't bag a five-for, he did manage to break Kapil Dev's all-time record of 434 Test wickets. The legend continues on his upward rise. Dale Steyn currently sit's in 7th position on the all time leading test wicket taker list. He is only 15 wickets from 450 test wickets. Supreme fast bowling from the 'Phalaborwa Express'#ProteaFire #SAvSL pic.twitter.com/7F3lvmy4jW — Cricket South Africa (@OfficialCSA) February 14, 2019 Overtaking India's first World Cup-winning captain, Steyn is now the joint 7th highest wicket-taker alongside England's Stuart Broad in the all-time list of Test cricket. He is now behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708), Anil Kumble (619), James Anderson (575), Glenn McGrath (563) and Courtney Walsh (519) in the coveted list. Despite rising in the all-time list, Steyn is just happy to return to the field, doing what he enjoys the most - bowling fast. "After not playing for two years (through injury), I feel like it's a blessing to just be playing again. I've almost had to start over. I'm not on 430-odd wickets, I'm on 20 since breaking Polly's (Shaun Pollock's) record. It's nice to finish a three-match Test series against Pakistan and not have someone write: 'He's an injury away from retiring'. It's nice to contribute again. It feels like I've started over," Steyn was quoted as saying by icc-cricket.com. #Steyn still controlling his raw & searing pace even if he has been playing for #SA over decade across formats. #Steyn is #SA team delight. When he gets going #Steyn is ruthless, merciless, makes batsmen sleepless!!! — @Iam MmReDdY$ (@mmreddys2020) February 15, 2019 He is the Greatest of all time — Thapedi (@thapedi_moshabi) February 15, 2019 Legend!
