  1. "This is a new low in Indian govt?s repressive ?Hindutva? inspired majoritarian policy aimed at demonising minorities," says Foreign Office
  2. Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has enjoyed quite a lot of highs in the Bollywood business and similarly, he's also endured a hell lot of lows during the same time. And it is that very experience of being on both sides that has clearly made him what he is today. Sanjay, who will next be seen in the upcoming KGF Chapter 2 film, is someone who doesn't hold back from speaking his mind. © AA Films The actor speaks freely when talking about the industry, and looks like he's given his two cents on one important aspect of Bollywood. As seen in several Bollywood movies, superstars like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and so many others have romanced actresses half their age. © Prime Video We've certainly enjoyed a lot of movies with the actors doing just that. Well, it turns out that Sanjay has a message for everyone in Bollywood. The actor, while speaking ahead of the release of KGF: Chapter 2 featuring Raveena Tandon and Yash, said that he wants to take up roles suitable for his age. The 62-year-old actor spoke to Good Times and said that he 'can't dance with Alia Bhatt', debunking the current Bollywood trend. “Arrey ab hai to thodi main Alia Bhatt ke sath romance karunga. (I cannot be romancing Alia Bhatt at this age). Ya, so, I mean it's like that, you've got to move on.” said the actor. © Instagram Now, while we cannot confirm if this was a dig or not, I guess what we can assume is that Sanjay won't be romancing the likes of Deepika Padukone and other actresses anytime soon. 3. After the terrific Gurgaon in 2017, I was looking forward to Shanker Raman’s next film interestingly titled Love Hostel. And the icing on the cake was the casting of Bobby Deol, who is in the best phase of his career ever since his resurgence with Class of ‘83 and Aashram. Well, Love Hostel doesn’t disappoint. In fact, it makes for an intriguing watch. While the story of the film isn’t unique, the execution by Shanker Raman and the outstanding performances make it worth your time. © Red Chillies Entertainment Based on the subject of honour killing, the film is about a cold blooded mercenary named Dagar (Bobby Deol) who is hired by Jyoti’s (Sanya Malhotra) family to kill her and her husband Ashu aka Ahmed (Vikrant Massey). The screenplay keeps you engrossed right from its opening scene till the end. Even though at times it becomes convenient and displays some lazy writing. The narrative is brutal and disturbing with a tinge of dark humour. The editing is sharp and pacing is quite good. The atmosphere created by Raman blends in well with the film’s tone. However, there are a couple of choices that Shanker has made with his characters that didn't quite make sense. For example, how people in this film behave so casually while their family members or loved ones are being killed. © Red Chillies Entertainment Coming to the performances, Bobby Deol is outstanding. While he has played characters with grey shades in the past, Dagar in Love Hostel is at the extreme end. It is quite clear that while sketching his character, the filmmaker took a lot of inspiration from Javier Bardem’s Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men. Dagar is like a ghost who doesn’t flinch before going on a killing spree and he kills a lot of people… a lot. However, in a few scenes, he also displays the pain that he has been through. He believes what he is doing is for the betterment of the society. It is his Dharma as he says. But in reality, all he needs is a psychiatrist. If John Wick was evil, you will get Dagar. © Red Chillies Entertainment Vikrant Massey is a complete natural and performs well. However, the character he plays does nothing to challenge him as an actor. This is the kind of role he can ace at any given day. Sanya Malhotra once again proves why she is one of the most promising young actresses in the Indian film industry, currently. Even though I had an issue with the way her character is written (read: dumb), Sanya was first rate. Raj Arjun delivers a fine performance but his character is not fully fleshed out. In fact, in the larger scheme of things, he doesn’t even matter. © Red Chillies Entertainment Overall, Love Hostel is one of the better films to release on OTT in the last two years. It’s entertaining, engaging and a bit disturbing. View the full article
  4. Upset with the BCCI’s decision to tell him that he will not be considered by the selection committee while deciding on Team India’s Test cricket squad, Wriddhiman Saha has revealed some major information about a tough discussion that he had with the Indian head coach, Rahul Dravid. The Indian selection panel made many significant changes to the Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka, including the removal of four veteran players. Former vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Wriddhiman Saha were all dropped by the committee. View this post on Instagram According to chief selector Chetan Sharma, the four players were told of their dismissal ahead of time, and the selectors wanted them to participate in the Ranji Trophy. Ishant will be eligible for Delhi from the second game of the red-ball competition, in which Rahane and Pujara are playing for their respective states. Saha will not be competing in the competition. Appalled by the selectors' decision to remove him, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has shared a major moment amid all the chaos. Saha stated to The Times of India that he was notified of his dismissal ahead of time, and that Rahul Dravid had recommended the veteran player consider retirement. View this post on Instagram "Yes, the team management told me that I would not be considered henceforth. I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India team setup. Even coach Rahul Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement," he revealed to TOI. "When I hit an unbeaten 61 taking a pain-killer in the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur last November, Dada (as Sourav was referred to by Bengal players) congratulated me over Whatsapp. He even mentioned that I should not worry about anything so long as he is at the helm of the BCCI. Such a message from the board president really boosted my confidence. But I failed to understand why everything changed so fast." Saha (in TOI) said "Team management has told me that I would not be considered henceforth - I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India setup. Even coach Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement". — Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) February 19, 2022 It was Saha’s conversation with the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid, that has attracted the attention of the fans of the Men in Blue. Some suggest that Dravid’s bluntness was highly uncharacteristic of him and rather surprising. However, others felt that ‘The Wall’ was only trying to show some tough love to the wicket-keeper batter and make him face the reality as soon as possible so that he could start looking for alternative means to continue his dreams of playing cricket at a high level. Wow, that's really harsh to tell directly take retirement pic.twitter.com/xC89jXtngF — Bully Maguire (@BullyMaguire_69) February 19, 2022Rude behaviour by Dravid,if this same thing told by shastri then the entire media would have ripped him apart. — aditya (@aaditya23_) February 19, 2022Good to see Coach Dravid atleast giving clarity to him. Anyway we should appreciate Saha for what he has done to Indian cricket but TBH he doesn't fit in the current test setup with lots of youngsters like Rishabh, Bharat performing much much better than him. — Raj Aryan (@RajAryanTrue) February 19, 2022Just imagine if Shastri did this He would have been called arrogant How can a Coach ask his player to retire permanently Coach work is to tell player how can he improve and make Comeback not to tell him to give up cricket Very poor from Dravid — Virarsh (@Cheeku218) February 19, 2022This is quite obvious with Pant present and KS as backup . Atleast he has been given clarity of his career . Well done Rahul Dravid — Kaygee18 (@Kaygee1803) February 19, 2022Saha has now been substituted by KS Bharat, who has kept wickets at the top level in a few matches. Although, he has never played international cricket. After MS Dhoni's retirement from red-ball cricket, Saha, who made his India debut in 2010, became a permanent member of the team. Following Rishabh Pant's debut, his stock dropped. Rishabh has secured a place in the Test squad for the 2020/21 season. During the South Africa tour, Saha sat on the bench. Despite the fact that the senior players have been benched for two Test matches, Saha's prospects of returning to the national team remain slim. View the full article

  6. Asim Riaz, who became a household name after his stint in Bigg Boss 13, is continuously trending on Twitter since last night due to a cryptic tweet. In the controversial post, Asim has taken a sly dig at people dancing soon after losing their loved ones to death. The tweet made SidNaaz fans angry who claimed that he apparently taunted Shehnaaz Gill as a few videos recently went viral on social media in which the Honsla Rakh star is seen dancing and enjoying herself after a long time post Sidharth Shukla’s untimely demise. However, Asim has now finally clarified that his tweet was not directed towards Shehnaaz. Taking to Twitter, he issued a clarification stating that he lost one of his good friends from Jammu last month and the tweet was for some of his other friends from the same group who are currently partying in Goa. The statement reads, “Guys, I got your attention and I think I need to clear this now.. I lost one of my good friends last month from Jammu and few of my friends from the same group are partying Ryt now in Goa.. so I was actually telling them not who u all are assuming and remember if I wanna say anything I have those guts to come up and say it directly”. He added, “I have close ones too, I have my hommies around too so stop targeting stop taking out loopholes and stop taking sympathy”. pic.twitter.com/MRaDk8h3Dd — Asim Riaz (@imrealasim) December 28, 2021 Well, it is great that Asim has finally cleared the confusion. For the unversed, TV star and Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla passed away on September 2 after a cardiac arrest. The news of his demise came as a shock to his family, friends, and fans. Shehnaaz too wasn’t in the right state of mind and took a break from work. View the full article

  8. September 24 is a special day for every fan of the Indian cricket team as it was on this day back in 2007 when the Men in Blue lifted the very first T20 World Cup trophy after defeating Pakistan in the final. It was the first major ICC tournament which MS Dhoni had won as the captain of the squad and established himself as one of the most likeable players in the history of the game in the country. When your FAITH become stronger than your FEAR … then your dream can become a reality #champions #T20WorldCup2007 #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/fuOWN2VLba — Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) September 24, 2021 So when Harbhajan Singh shared the image of the team celebrating the victory at the podium with the iconic World Cup trophy in their hands and the fans couldn’t spot the skipper in the frame, they automatically assumed that the spinner had cropped him out of the picture. “Nice Bhai Nicely Croped MSD Photo (sic),” wrote one of the Twitter users on Bhajji’s picture while being sarcastic about not having his captain feature in the picture. He was hinting at the trophy emoji Singh had pasted at the bottom right corner of the picture while thinking that it was done to cover up Dhoni’s face. This tweet has not been deleted. Singh, who is very active on social media decided to teach the presuming fan a harsh lesson and replied to his comment with the original picture which showed the cameraman bending over in right in front of the frame. Now u can lick what u see in the picture I cropped https://t.co/K5m8mHU2go pic.twitter.com/LRrLf2LsME — Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) September 24, 2021 To add salt to the wounds of the fan, Singh added a caption in which he said: “Now u can lick what u see in the picture I cropped.” It didn’t take long for the brutal response to go viral and many even felt that the Bhajji had made a typo and accidentally wrote “lick” instead of “look” or “like”. But the others, who wanted to believe that there was no typo and that Harbhajan really was that savage, had the time of their lives commenting on the post. Holy shit you killed him dude https://t.co/cqBxsW4Ker — Lavil Saldanha (@LavilSaldanha1) September 24, 2021Ha..ha. Aptly said. Being a commoner does not mean one can run away after commenting. Well done @harbhajan_singh Always a fighter.. https://t.co/1PxdigCUvn — Rishi M (@Rishi_MST) September 24, 2021I don't know why fanbois think players are as petty as they are. https://t.co/UuJJ9Thy0U — Baalak Bakait (@AJ99_atul) September 24, 2021There is nothing wrong in @harbhajan_singh sir's tweet. Dhoni was behind Uthappa and Harbhajan. He even tagged #Dhoni in the original tweet. Why would he hate Dhoni? Have some sense before posting such kind of filthy replies. Grow up #Dhoni fans. https://t.co/DBiv0UDPZU pic.twitter.com/vyHP5SQhqp — Shiv_The_Stoic (@shiv_stoic) September 24, 2021While the two legends of Indian cricket were teammates in international cricket, Bhajji is no more an active member of any cricket squad, despite being picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 auction for Rs 2 crore, whereas MS Dhoni continues to lead the Chennai Super Kings as an elite skipper in the IPL. 9. On Monday, the 19-year-old Avani Lekhara created history when she became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics after dominating in the R-2 women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event in Tokyo, Japan. The Jaipur-born shooter’s final score of 249.6 was not only equal to the world record but also a new Paralympic record. Phenomenal performance @AvaniLekhara! Congratulations on winning a hard-earned and well-deserved Gold, made possible due to your industrious nature and passion towards shooting. This is truly a special moment for Indian sports. Best wishes for your future endeavours. — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) August 30, 2021 Avani Lekhara’s Journey To Tokyo Paralympic Gold In Tokyo As a child, Avani was a talented dancer who would bag trophies and awards in dancing. However, a horrible car crash in 2012 caused serious injuries to her spinal cord and the wheelchair became a prominent part of her life. View this post on Instagram Without regretting the changes that were brought into her life after that one horrific incident, Avani decided to try out different sports that she thought she would be good at. She even considered archery before finally taking up shooting after reading India's first Olympic Gold Medallist Abhinav Bindra’s autobiography A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold. Her first experience with a rifle came back in 2015 at the Jagatpura Sports Complex in Jaipur and with the kind of work and effort she put into her craft, it took her just two years to make her international debut at the Para Shooting World Cup in Al Ain in UAE (2017). View this post on Instagram She started her international career with a silver medal too. She bagged another silver at the Para Shooting World Cup in Osijek in Croatia in 2019. And earlier this year in March, the Avani got her first gold medal at the inaugural National Para-shooting championships in the women's R2 10m air rifle women's SH1. View this post on Instagram “It is every athlete’s dream (to win gold for their country at the Olympics) and it was the same for me as well. For the last five years, I have been looking forward to representing India at the Paralympics and I finally got the chance today. I did not care about the medal tally, I just wanted to focus on my performance one shot at a time and now I am feeling as if I am on top of the world,” Avani told Sports Tak (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zLvNhx9enA) shortly after winning the top spot at the podium. 10. Unmukt Chand, once touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, has decided to call time on his career in India at the age of 28. The right-hand batsman has signed a multi-year deal with Major League Cricket in America, where he will be playing and mentoring the next generation of cricketers. Chand’s story is a perfect example of how not every story has a fairytale ending. It also tells us just how difficult it is to become a top-class cricketer in the country, where players are found in every nook and cranny. © BCCL He was still in school when he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Delhi. He showed great promise early on and scored a terrific 151 in his fourth match. He was only 17 at the time. However, his moment of glory came when he guided India to an Under-19 World Cup title in 2012 which made him a household name, just like Kohli. They both had many similarities that made people believe that Chand would be the next Virat Kohli of Indian cricket. Opening the innings in the final, Chand blasted an unbeaten 111 runs as India defeated Australia to become U-19 world champions. Along with the World Cup title, Chand also returned home with the Man of the Match award. T3- On to the next innings of my life #JaiHind pic.twitter.com/w84kWeCqhM — Unmukt Chand (@UnmuktChand9) August 13, 2021 The way he dominated the bowlers throughout that tournament made him the most sought-after young cricketer in the country but unfortunately, his career never shot up like he would have expected it to. He played 67 first-class games and scored 3369 runs at an average of 31.57, with the help of eight centuries. He was a much-better white-ball cricketer as he scored over 4,505 runs at an average of 41.33. He posted a detailed note on his official Twitter handle where he thanked the BCCI, the DDCA and all the teammates who were part of his cricketing journey in India and helped him grow as a player and as a human being. T1- On to the next innings of my life #JaiHind pic.twitter.com/fEEJ9xOdlt — Unmukt Chand (@UnmuktChand9) August 13, 2021T2- On to the next innings of my life #JaiHind pic.twitter.com/8yK7QBHtUZ — Unmukt Chand (@UnmuktChand9) August 13, 2021 "I can proudly look back at my cricketing journey in India and I feel so blessed to have made a mark in a cricket-frenzied nation. Big thanks to BCCI for giving cricketers like me a platform to express and showcase our skills through so many camps, age group and senior board tournaments and the IPL. Definitely the hallmark of the biggest cricket board in the world,” Chand wrote on Twitter. “Lastly, I would like to say that things have not been as smooth in the last few years and opportunities have been denied. Though a part of me is not at peace with the way things have unfolded in the last few years, I still choose to see the silver lining and with fond memories bid adieu to BCCI and seek better opportunities around the world,” he added. © BCCL Nobody knows how such a talented player ended up like this. Some say the reason why he failed to make a mark in the international arena is that he tasted success as a teenager and lost his discipline as a cricketer. Like Chand, we also hope that the path he has chosen is the right one and wish him luck for his future endeavours. View the full article
  11. Brutal - that is the only word to describe Indian Olympian Satish Kumar’s Tokyo Olympics 2020 quarter-final bout against Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov, who is the reigning world champion in the men's superheavyweight category, ranked number 1 in the world according to the AIBA rankings released in 2020. With a dominating 4-1 victory in the Round of 16, Kumar appeared to be yet another bright Indian prospect to compete for an Olympic medal. He may have even made it into the medal rounds had the world no. 1 didn’t come across him on Sunday. View this post on Instagram The face with which the 32-year-old had entered the ring and the face with which he walked out (barely) were very different from each other. Despite a gash on his face massive enough to become troublesome to just look at, the fact that the Indian pugilist, somehow, managed to stay on his feet for all five rounds in itself deserves all the respect in the world. But it was his message to his Indian fans with a gashed chin, a bloodied right cheekbone, and a swollen eye the size of a table tennis ball, that won the hearts across the boxing fraternity. “ Pre quarterfinal मैच के बाद मेरे चेहरे पर 13 टाँके थे।पत्नी ने मना किया। पिता ने कहा अब बस कर। कोई भी परिवार यही कहता ।पर मरता क्या ना करता ? लड़ना तो था ही और मैं लड़ा। हार के बावजूद इतने फ़ोन आए कि लगा कि चैम्पियन मैं बना। मेरे बच्चों को गर्व है मुझ पर “ -सतीश कुमार बॉक्सर pic.twitter.com/ptWeqLqe1C — Vinod Kapri (@vinodkapri) August 1, 2021 “After the Pre-quarterfinal match, there were 13 stitches on my face. My wife asked me to pull out (of the fight), and father asked me to give up. Any other family would have also asked for the same. Par marta kya na karta? I had to fight and I fought. Despite losing, I got so many phone calls that I thought I became the champion. My kids are proud of me,” he said, according to Journalist Vinod Kapri’s tweet. Fans from all over the country were overwhelmed by his efforts and did not hold back from acknowledging the courage and heart with which Kumar went down swinging. Combat sports are always cruel, especially boxing. It needs a very big heart n guts to get into games like boxing Satish stayed there till last with his guts. It's also a win. 12. Men landing in the friend-zone while trying to woo their crush isn’t something unheard of. It happens. Most women have their priorities clear and they don’t think twice before keeping their admirers in the most dreaded zone of a budding relationship. However, men have their priorities too, you know. And, turns out, some bravehearts have friend-zoned their ladylove because they refused to compromise on things that are important for them. © Yash Raj Films It may not be about looks or how much they are earning but things like music, food and movies that men take really seriously. It might sound funny but, if Joey Tribbiani from Friends could end a relationship because the girl wanted fries, it is only obvious that men IRL too would rather keep their distance from women who don’t see eye to eye with their favourite anime character or food choices than giving in for a lifetime. © Yash Raj Films So, if you have ever murdered your chances of getting a girlfriend by friend-zoning her for a silly reason, you are not alone. The hashtag #friendzoned was trending on Twitter India yesterday as desis were sharing funny things they got friend-zoned for or deliberately friend-zoned someone, because honestly, there are some things that are more important to us than anything in the world. © Dharma Productions What is the silliest thing you have friend-zoned a woman for?
