  1. Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was the show's most-watched episode ever. That's right, it was watched by a record 17.4 million viewers when it aired. But you know what? That number could have been much higher if more people would have watched it, you know, legally. According to a digital-piracy analytics company Muso, the “Winterfell” episode was pirated 54 million times globally in just 24 hours. The pirated views easily dwarfs the legal views that came on the day it was aired. Of course, the number will likely go up in the coming days as more people start watching it, but so will the pirated views. © HBO MUSO's data also shows that the most pirated views came from India. Roughly 10 million views out of the estimated 54 million came from India. MUSO speculates that the piracy in India was higher due to the difficulty of accessing the show there. China, on the other hand, airs a censored version of the show, so 5 million pirated views came from there too. United States, despite having the easiest access to the show via HBO, came third in charts with close to 4 million illegal views. So yes, it looks like people are not ready to pay to watch 'Game of Thrones' after all. Anyway, the next episode of 'Game of Thrones' season 8 airs Monday, April 22 at 6.30 AM on Hotstar in India. So, you still have some time to catch up if you haven't already.
  2. From artsy nooks and streets, renaissance architecture, beautiful museums, picturesque landscapes to the breathtaking alps and lakes, Switzerland is hands down the most beautiful country in the world. As for those with calculators in their hands and the perennial question on their minds, yes it is one of the most expensive countries, but trust me it's totally worth it. You get what you pay for. After all, it ain't called 'Heaven on Earth' for no reason. And I am not talking to those who click selfies in traffic while coming to Gurgaon and post it with '#wanderlust'. I am talking to those who actually love to travel and are willing to go to any place to experience new things. Just like most of you people, my dream of travelling to Switzerland finally came true two weeks ago. Thanks to Switzerland Tourism and their fine hospitality, I got to experience how beautiful Luzern, Engelberg and Mount Titlis are and how there's so much more left to see than what meets the eye. MensXP You can find innumerable pictures of Switzerland on the internet, but what I captured on my phone is something you get only when you experience it all on your own. Switzerland is so beautiful that even these pictures I clicked on a phone look like the works of a professional photographer. MensXP If you ask me, I will say March is the best time to go. You get to experience surreal things and lots of winter sports activities. MensXP You can watch the sudden rain showers turn into a sunny day, while sipping hot chocolate in a boat cruise in Luzern (aka Lucerne). MensXP MensXP MensXP You can just stand in the snow and the backdrop will make you feel like you've entered Narnia. MensXP MensXP And, you can travel to Mount Titlis in minus 20 degrees and come back alive to talk about it. MensXP You can walk through the Glacier cave and manage to capture its beauty, despite your phone covered with frost. MensXP MensXP Switzerland is one place where you cannot crib about bad pictures, and if these pictures did not convince you, then here are some more that will make you fall in love with the place all over again. 3. Yes, the need for protesting the gross and infamous terror attack in Pulwama is the utmost right now. Throughout history, India's 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' ideology has been stretched, moulded and abused on a global stage in the most disturbing manner ever. For years, India's stand on not being the first one to go on the attack in a bilateral rivalry, has been understood as our weakness instead of our political maturity and we are running out of patience really fast now. However, this does not mean that we lose our ability to make rational decisions. While the BCCI officials were taking their time deciding how they'd deal with the rival Pakistani squad during the upcoming World Cup 2019, if they would boycott them during the points-round or campaign for a complete ban on the Pakistani cricket team, another lead on BCCI's unrealistic measure towards the Pakistan Cricket Board came to the fore recently. According to Indian Express, BCCI had plans to isolate Pakistan by putting all the foreign players in a 'Us Or Them' situation, forcing them to choose between playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL). What needs to be realised is that while the IPL is more of a gold mine for these international players, (some of whom earn double of their annual salary by playing for 6 weeks here), Pakistan's security concerns, on the other hand, has led to their hesitations towards playing in the country. However, South African cricket legend AB de Villiers was one of the most influential stars to have publicly announced his willingness to play there in order to bring in more such stars. A special message from our mentor and player @ABdeVilliers17 “Main Lahore A Raha Hun” ð¤©#DamaDamMast #MainHoonQalandar pic.twitter.com/Ye8j65Jwxl — Lahore Qalandars (@lahoreqalandars) January 14, 2019 BCCI's plan to, therefore, make things difficult for PCB to bring in international cricketers and grow their viewership, seemed highly opportune but insensitive. According to the report, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) officials along with BCCI CEO Rahul Johri gathered to draw a conclusion of this idea. Thankfully, the authority decided against the notion deeming it inappropriate to force the international players to choose between the two cricket leagues. Why? Simply because of the fact that it is the IPL franchises (that are privately owned) and not the BCCI that take up the players during the auction. Putting the players under such predicament would, therefore, lead to disappointed team owners. Basically, the whole facade boiled down to the fact that any action taken in favour of this plan would have been bad for business.
  4. The day has come. The day has finally come where people got to roast the man who roasts people on a regular basis online. And, the best part is desi people got to do that. Yes, a Thai chef also did that last year, but this time it's special because it involves butter chicken. Basically, Gordon Ramsay posted a picture of what I feel like is the worst looking butter chicken I have ever seen. He wrote he was eating the dish at Heathrow and he can't get on a flight before enjoying this first. But, it doesn't look right - or appetizing at all, tbh - and you should know that, Gordon. Take a look yourself. Can't get on a flight from Heathrow without enjoying the butter chicken curry at @PlaneFood.... #readyfortakeoff @HeathrowAirport pic.twitter.com/OVsLtluRkl — Gordon Ramsay (@GordonRamsay) February 18, 2019 Where is the naan, or roti, or something? What is happening? But, this did give desi people a chance to roast him and honestly, you can't fight a desi person when it comes to something like butter chicken, you just can't. It died for nothing! Not fair to that chicken! #depressed https://t.co/fyyhFmT0GZ — Anubhav Dev (@Anubhav_Dev_AFC) February 20, 2019 Truly. You kidding, right? I watch your #KitchenNightmares and without a doubt if you was served that you would throw the 'green rubbish' off the plate ðð» — Christopher Logan (@CLCourtney82) February 18, 2019 It's really not. That just doesn't work. Yeah, bro, smh. It's papad btw.
  5. Want to know what's worse than an already weird pair of crocs? Turning a croc shoe into a bag! Nope, we're not even kidding. This is not a good start to 2019, fashion-wise. Already a much frowned upon sandal label and a big no-no when it comes to style, crocs have taken their shoe game to a whole other level of just plain weird. Croc's new collaboration with a streetwear label Pizzaslice has resulted in the birth of satan's prodigy itself, the crocs cross-body bag. Have a look without making a what-the-hell-is-that-thing face. © instagram/@pizzaslime © instagram/@pizzaslime The bag itself is a literal croc (one shoe, not a pair) of the label's infamous design with a polyester zipper pouch for storage where the sole usually is. There's also a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap attached to each end of the shoe which makes it a cross between a fanny pack and a cross-body sling. Either way, its absurd. © store.pizzaslime.com Apparently fashion loves the croc shoe. We don't , but that's a whole other story. First there were the Christopher Kane stone embellished crocs, then the Balenciaga platform crocs and now this. © store.pizzaslime.com © store.pizzaslime.com The bag (or shoe? we're still confused) is handmade in Los Angeles and comes with 7 detachable and customizable charms. It is available in two colours, black and yellow. © store.pizzaslime.com If anyone wants one of these, as a collectible or as an accessory, they would have to fight hard for it. It's a unisex accessory and the brand is just making 25 units of these (talk about a limited edition accessory) with each one being retailed at 300$ which is around Rs. 21350 only. © instagram/@pizzaslime Here goes another attempt by Crocs to make this infamous rubber shoe cool again, if it was ever one to begin with. You're still fashion's evil foe, Croc. Maybe 2019 is finally your year.
  6. The worst nightmares have come to reality for Horacio Sala, the father of the 28-year-old footballer, Emiliano Sala after the Cardiff City striker's body was finally identified by the Dorset police. Shortly after the body was brought to the Portland Port, HM Coroner for Dorset declared to the public that it was recovered from amidst the plane's wreckage and was in fact that of Emiliano Sala, whose jet mysteriously vanished from the air traffic control's radar on 22nd January 2019. In what can only be considered as the final moments of Sala, the footballer got in touch with his father with a WhatsApp voicemail in which he sounded nervous and scared for his life. "If in an hour and a half you have no news from me, I don't know if they are going to send someone to look for me because they cannot find me. But you know… Dad, I am so scared," he had said. Horacio Sala had opened up to the press a couple of days after the voicemail came out when he said: “He (Emiliano) was so happy that he was going there (Cardiff), to an even bigger club… He was doing too well, he was playing so well, and then this news… There are no words to describe the feeling.” Sala was a talented young star was had just signed a major deal with an English Premier League team, Cardiff City FC and was supposed to join his new team for a practice session a day after his unfortunate disappearance took place. He was loved by fans from both his previous team, Nantes, a French Ligue 1 team and Cardiff, equally, who came out in huge numbers to show their condolences with candles, jerseys and big colourful banners. In one of the most heartbreaking moments ever since, Emiliano's sister Romina Sala shared a picture on Facebook of his dog, Nala calmly waiting by the door, for the footballer to come back home. Fans from all over the world came together to mourn over the untimely demise of the Argentinian: Emiliano Sala's last ever goal ð¼ðð¾ #RIPSala pic.twitter.com/XIL2wkprzy — SAMUEL (@SamOgun_) February 7, 2019 This very emotional video tribute to Emiliano Sala will hit you hard. 7. The wedding season is upon us and Shah Rukh Khan is out there blessing couples with warm wishes. No, I'm not exactly talking about Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal or DeepVeer and not even Priyanka and Nick for that matter, but I'm talking about how SRK made the best day of a couple's lives, even better. We all know that SRK is one of the most loved actors in the country, and his fans simply adore him unconditionally. All that love and admiration has also turned his house into a tourist attraction of sorts and it's a must-visit place when in one is in Mumbai. So, a lot of people do visit his house daily but a particular couple from Mumbai proved to be different. A newly-married couple ended up at 'Mannat' because “They say visit temple after you are hitched, We did it right”. So is his fitness and life partner, Ankita Konwar. © Instagram If you follow Ankita Konwar and Milind Soman on social media, then you must have come across these posts where you can see Milind and Ankita hanging from a giant glittering ball. 9. Think about your scariest memory, something that haunts you till date and gives you nightmares. Now multiply that fear 10 times and that's what it feels like to virtually be a part of 'The Conjuring' universe. © new line cinema Pick any movie, 'The Conjuring', 'Annabelle' or 'Annabelle: Creation'; every movie was a commercial and critical success and managed to scare the wits out of everyone, even the bravehearts. 10. The gut-wrenching ending of 'Infinity War' left us on a cliff-hanger that continues to knock the wind out of us. The climax came as a shock where half of the Avengers turned to dust thanks to a certain purple Titan. But what if we tell you maybe not everyone dies after all, and that there was someone who was resurrected? A crazy new theory has been floating around it has all of our attention. And no, it's not about a Stone but about a certain superhero who may have died and been brought back to life in the movie itself. Did we miss something important? © Marvel Cinematic Universe Let's go back to the climax when Thanos appeared in the battlefield of Wakanda, taking over every hero one by one with a single punch. From Hulk, Groot, Black Panther to the War Machine and the Winter Soldier, everyone was tossed around like a soccer ball by Thanos. © Marvel Cinematic Universe But Redditor Commander_wong brought a new name to our notice who was crushed in the worst way possible. He wrote, “Thanos ended his short battle with Cap with a punch to the back of the head. Many wondered how Cap recovered in mere seconds from a punch that even took out the Hulk and the most logical explanation is that he didn't. As Thanos used the time stone to bring Vision back, the surroundings also reverted: Natasha was no longer trapped under pillars of stone, Bruce was no longer fused to a rock, and Cap showed no signs of injuries from a blow that should've easily killed him.” © Reddit Check out the scene now: Hasn't that left everyone thinking? What exactly does Captain America's death and resurrection mean? Well, we know the news of Chris Evans saying bye already has left many heartbroken, as 'Avengers 4', will be his last film and that's pretty disappointing. © Marvel Cinematic Universe 'Avengers 4' will hit the screens around May 2019 and is said to bring a 'significant conclusion' to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as per the makers.
  11. Talking about superficial struggles, the most relatable one (I say relatable because I'm sure you'd agree) is dressing well when you're super broke. I'm not going to quote Carrie Bradshaw from SATC and say "When I first moved to New York and I was totally broke, sometimes I bought Vogue instead of dinner. I found it fed me more" because one, we're in India - a place where being broke is completely different from being broke in New York, and two, I need to eat. So, I realized the only way out is to cut corners. You know what's the word that fills up my soul with joy? 'Sale'. Well, who doesn't like discounts? Plus, I work in fashion and it's important for me to keep up appearances (sigh). But, doing what I do, I also learned how to look decently, err, 'well-to-do', while actually being broke most of the time. Today, I'm going to spill my secret, without any reservation whatsoever, and give you an actual demo of how I make my broke ass look pretty sorted by shopping smart. I decided to take up a shopping and styling challenge - where I'll curate maximum number of outfits under a budget. While it was scary to start with, I did strive hard and brought my inner Monisha Sarabhai out. I bargained, haggled, put notifications on my phone for app-based sales, did a PhD on how to use coupon codes to my advantage, kept a thorough check on every sale going on in every brand outlet - and finally managed to do the only thing in my life that my mother will probably be proud of - came up with 13 dope ass, expensive looking streetstyle outfits, by shelling out only 6,000 bucks. 'Proud' would be an understatement. You know you agree. Here, I will show you the looks, and also share where I got which piece, and how much I had to shell out for each piece. Of course, I did a whole lot of mix-n-match because hey, that's clever and I had a budget of 6K. Outfit 1: © MensXP You can never go wrong with a layered look. Plus, if that contains denim, that's probably the safest bet ever. Throw in the right accessories, and you're all set! © MensXP One of the most common elements in streetstyle is longlines T-shirts, because A - they look dope, and B - nothing is more comfortable. © MensXP Take off the jacket, and it almost looks like a different outfit altogether. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt - H&M - INR 433/- Grey Trousers - Sarojini Nagar - INR 300/- Denim jacket - Sarojini Nagar - INR 275/- Outfit 2: © MensXP My inspiration for this look was Diljit Dosanjh. The way he wears those oversized jackets is a fashion class in itself. Well, his mostly are Balenciaga and Gucci, but let's not talk about things that will make us sad. © MensXP The best thing about this look is that you can have multiple aesthetics with the same elements, just by putting in minor tweaks. Take the jacket off, and there you have it! © MensXP Or use it like a cape. © MensXP No matter how you choose to wear it, this outfit will make you look dapper. Where I bought it from: Oversized jacket - Zara - INR 990/- White trousers - Zara - INR 990/- Graphic sleeveless tank top - Max - INR 200/- Outfit 3: © MensXP This is my streetstyle twist to the most popular outift ever - white T-shirt and blue jeans. I just changed it to a white longline T-shirt, and a majorly ripped and distressed pair of jeans (I ripped it myself, ssshhh). © MensXP I added a black denim jacket, and that gave the outfit a really cool twist. You don't necessarily need to wear it, just carry it around like an accessory for nailing the look. Where I bought it from: White longline T-shirt - H&M - INR 250/- Blue jeans (that I ripped myself) - Sarojini Nagar - INR 200/- Black denim jacket (I added the patches on it) - Sarojini Nagar - INR 200/- Outfit 4: © MensXP A sleeveless frayed shirt is a must have if you want that raw, edgy aesthetic that's also very 'street'. Plus, it's a good incentive to look forward to 'arm days' in the gym! © MensXP Pair it with a well-fitting pair of trousers, cropped at the ankles, and you're good to go. Oh, and accessorize well. Where I bought it from: Frayed, sleeveless Shirt - Koovs - INR 333/- The trousers from Outfit 1. Outfit 5: © MensXP I have always had a major weakness for all-white looks. There's just something inexplicably classy about them. Of course I had to have one. © MensXP I paired the white longline T-shirt from Outfit 3 with the white trousers from Outfit 2 - and voila! Pro tip: Carry a sling bag across the shoulder for a contrasting edge. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 3. Trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 6: © MensXP Just like I love all-white looks, all-black looks have an equally special place in my lookbook. No, it's got nothing to do with the whole goth thing. Or does it? © MensXP Take your jacket off and hold it on your shoulder for a cutthroat, no-nonsense aesthetic. Where I bought it from: Black longline T-shirt - Koovs - INR 333/- Black trousers - Sarojini Nagar - INR 220/- Outfit 7: © MensXP Want a playful, yet sophisticated street aesthetic? Opt for pastels. © MensXP A relaxed baby pink T-shirt paired with a pair of well-fitted grey trousers. Add a fun cap for that playful element. I also added a long jacket, just as a prop here - but it can totally be worn if it's not that hot outside. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - H&M - INR 300 The trousers from outfit 1. The jacket from outfit 2. Outfit 8: © MensXP Pop colours are in, and the fact that pink is still demonized as a colour for some weird reason among men, is the reason behind my choice of T-shirt. © MensXP This, right here, is a cool AF outfit and you know it. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - H&M - INR 250/- The trousers from outift 2. Outfit 9: © MensXP Okay, so my love for all-white outfits is rather strong. © MensXP It's boiling hot outside and we need to embrace tank tops. And why not? Aesthetically too, I love this outfit. Where I bought it from: White tank top - Koovs - INR 250/- The trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 10: © MensXP Again, my love for all-black outfits is not ready to take a back seat. Déjà vu much? © MensXP I added a bit of colour by choosing a tank top with a huge logo, and carried my long jacket as a part of the outfit without actually wearing it. Where I bought it from: Black tank top - Sarojini Nagar - INR 100/- The trousers from outfit 6. Outfit 11: © MensXP I clearly am a fan of black and white. So why not mix 'em up? © MensXP Again, threw the long jacket as an accessory for an added street vibe. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 6. Trousers from outfit 2. Outfit 12: © MensXP You know what's a safe combination if you're not confident about your shuffle game? A black T-shirt with blue jeans. © MensXP It's a self-sufficient look. You don't need anything else to make it look good. Just accessorize right. Where I bought it from: Longline T-shirt from outfit 6. Jeans from outfit 3. Outfit 13: © MensXP A really basic outfit can look really classy, given you have paired it well. © MensXP I wore a bright parchment pink T-shirt with my trusted white trousers, and cropped it at the ankles for a comfortable, functional, yet classy look. I wore bright orange shoes, a yellow cap, and round nerd glasses to seal it together. Where I bought it from: Pink T-shirt - Max - INR 199/- Trousers from outfit 2. 12. Just a couple of weeks ago we faced the reality of how hard finding a job if when we saw a homeless guy go viral after he actually handed out resumes on the side of a road as a way to look for work. Today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out! pic.twitter.com/ewoE3PKFx7 — FullMakeup Alchemist (@jaysc0) July 27, 2018 People were so impressed with him and how he was doing everything he could to change his unfortunate conditions at the time. The power of internet helped him out immensely and he got offers from companies like Netflix and Google. Yep, really! See, these are the kind of heart-warming stories we need to distract us from all the bad things happening in the world. People helping out people, people trying their best to finding work and start living an honest life. Now, there's another similar story of the internet coming together to help out a stranger in need. Here's Mohamed, a rocket scientist who recently graduated from University College London with two degrees in space engineering, who needed a little help finding a job. I mean, it's comforting to see that everyone has to struggle after getting a degree, but at the same time, if a rocket scientist is finding it hard to find work, then what hope is left for all of us? Coming back to Mohamed, he came to Britain as a refugee when he was kid and after successfully completing his degree, he is now looking for a job in finance, and is roaming the area around London's Canary Wharf holding a poster looking for a job. I met Mohamed coming out of the tube at Canary Wharf this morning. He came to the UK as a child refugee and has two degrees in Space Engineering. He's looking for a JOB IN FINANCE. Please RT! DM me for his CV if you want to hire someone smart who thinks outside the boxð pic.twitter.com/cgQ1lBfBNY — Mary Engleheart (@MaryEngleheart) August 14, 2018 The International Rescue Committee's Mary Engleheart ran into him and then decided to tweet his picture to spread the word and help him out. That tweet was just the beginning. Soon, people started tweeting even more and doing everything they could to support him. What do we want? A job for Mohamed! When do we want it? As soon as anyone has a good one. Thanks. https://t.co/0zJlNgookC — Vix Leyton ð´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ (@PRVix) August 15, 2018 Good luck, indeed! I met him yesterday, very confident and polite young man. Good luck to him! https://t.co/dSF22tnO5I — Andrew John Hodge (@DasHodge) August 15, 2018 It is. I think this is fantastic and heartwarming. I also think it is a brilliant example of the recruitment challenge facing engineering. https://t.co/Br4LjgVhDB — Ben Verinder (@BenVerinder) August 15, 2018 Possibly an offer in Germany? Wow. Could you send me his CV. I do know some people. In Germany though ... — Olaf Dreyer (@olafdreyer) August 14, 2018 Soon, hopefully. For someone who has graduated from UCL in Rocket Science and is looking for a career in finance then he has proved to me that he is thinking outside the box. Good luck mate I'm sure youll get snapped up pic.twitter.com/l6TK26PT30 — Medtechcerb (@Medtechcerb) August 15, 2018 See, an offer already! Hi @MaryEngleheart, I work closely with the Growth and Economic Development team at Tower Hamlets Council. Canary Wharf is in our borough. Please DM me Mohamed's CV and I'll see if we can help. — Chris Humphreys (@C_J_Humphreys) August 15, 2018
