  1. Russo Brothers are super sadistic and we always knew that. We all watched 'Infinity War' and sure, that nearly killed most of us, but they're still continuing to mess with all the Marvel fans. I mean, their Twitter display picture is still this - © Twitter Now that 'Avengers: Endgame' is inching closer and closer, looks like their trolling is also getting more frequent. We all know that Captain America's potential death in the movie is a dark cloud that has been looming over us for a long, long time and even Chris Evans is not helping us feel better. Chris Evans already shared his emotional message with everyone the day he wrapped up the shooting of 'Endgame', basically telling everyone he's done playing the role forever. Now, the Russo Brothers are sharing an emotional tribute video for the beloved Captain America which was made by a fan. Cap fan tribute from iAmRookie...https://t.co/TzQnkbjvyQ — Russo Brothers (@Russo_Brothers) March 6, 2019 What does it mean?!?! Are they just subtly saying he will die in 'Endgame'? They aren't this dumb, obviously. Why do we have to wait for one-and-a-half months to find out what's happening? It's unfair. Okay, all the inner turmoil aside, it was a pretty good video, and even Chris Evans should see it at least once. 2. With their arch-rivals Manchester City temporarily at the top position, Liverpool had a great opportunity to dethrone Pep Guardiola's side and gain pivotal ground in the all-important Premier League title race when they travelled to Old Trafford to take on United on 24th February. With a game in hand, the Reds were eager to secure all three points and extend their lead with a potential win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men. But, in a match that was plagued by injuries, Liverpool failed to make the opportunities count and eventually had to settle for a point following their frustrating goalless draw. © Reuters The turn of events at Old Trafford already had the Liverpool boss frustrated, but an incident in the second-half turned his frustration into anger. Unable to beat United goalkeeper David de Gea, Klopp decided to take off club captain Jordan Henderson and deployed Xherdan Shaqiri in the 72nd minute. Bonus, where that happenedâð»#MCICHE match, this happened between #Klopp and #Henderson in the #LiVSOU match pic.twitter.com/tgAQ46ZCKK Iam sure this will be an afterthought on the day all considering. Angered by Henderson's snub, the Liverpool boss was seen giving a mouthful to his captain even as he tried to explain his actions. Later, the incident became the topic of great discussion on the social media with football fans expressing their views on the entire episode. 3. Captain Marvel is just about two weeks away and honestly we can't wait for it to release soon enough. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a movie about a superhero who is supposed to be the strongest out of everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, actually there are a lot of sexist people out there who are already trying to make the movie bomb on Rotten Tomatoes even before its release but the first reactions to it are here and it looks like the movie is so good, it's bound to shut all the trolls up. Yes, I'm going to ignore the fact a lot of people have already seen the movie - just like I am ignoring the fact that a few people have also already watched 'Avengers: Endgame' - and we're going to focus on how people are saying that Brie Larson has killed it! The movie acts as an origin story for Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel and it'll be great to be introduced to her character before 'Endgame' because we all know how important she will be in that movie. Remember that end credit scene from 'Infinity War'? Coming back to the movie, here are all the positive reactions it has already gotten. #CaptainMarvel has a great '90s sci-fi vibe w/ a tone unlike any other Marvel movie, really. It's retro & trippy, mysterious & dorky. It's funny in surprising places & badass in all the right places. It remains entertaining because it's always changing. It's got the right stuff pic.twitter.com/o7AvqYY63x — Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) February 20, 2019 I'm already pumped! I was worried he was just going to be one of those Marvel villains with alien makeup, but that's not the case at all. 5. We have come a long way since judging people on the basis of the colour of the skin and calling them out because of the way they look, or have we? South Africa, as a nation, has experienced probably the worst form of racism not too long ago when Apartheid was a part of their day-to-day life. Clearly, the memories of racism and discrimination continue to haunt them even now. Under such circumstances, the Pakistani captain and wicket keeper, Sarfraz Ahmed somehow got the brilliant idea to racially taunt the Proteas batsman Andile Phehlukwayo on Tuesday during the second ODI at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban. After the Pakistani batting order was totaled at 205 within 46 overs, it seemed like a cake walk for the South African batsmen to get over this below-average target but faced some early trouble as their openers Hashim Amla and Reeza Hendricks were sent back for cheap. While Rassie van der Dussen's 80-run performance at one-down was of huge significance, it was Phehlukwayo, who like a brick-wall, was glued to the pitch, determined to win this one for his side. Frustrated as the Pak bowlers were unable to get Phehlukwayo out, Ahmed let out a comment which would later get him into a lot of trouble. He said: "Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya padhwa ke aaye hai aaj?". (Hey black guy, where's your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?) Sarfaraz Ahmed to Andile Phehlukwayo: "abbay kaale teri Ami kahan bethi hoyi hain aaj, kya parhwa kay aya hai aaj" "black man wheres your mother sat? What have you asked your mother to pray for you today?"#SAvPAK pic.twitter.com/vw6yuE73OE — Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) January 22, 2019 Not that Phehlukwayo was able to understand what Ahmed said, but as fate had it, his racially motivated taunt got picked up by the stump mics and was immediately brought to shame by the Twitter world. Sarfraz Ahmed should be punished by @ICC @TheRealPCB for his raciast comments against South African Player — Farooq Murtaza (@farooqmurtaza1) January 22, 2019 Sarfraz Ahmed is nothing more than just another sorry excuse for a Kaptaan. Pathetic sportsman.#PAKvSA #SAvPAK — Ruffles (@aliakberhabib) January 22, 2019 Sarfraz Ahmed might be in trouble after his comments. He might have said it jokingly, but at present, such remarks are taken seriously. The world of sports don't take racist remarks lightly boy! #SAvPak — Faisal Caesar (@faisalyorker1) January 22, 2019 Hey @ICC, That's a gross racist remark by Pakistan Team's Captain Sarfraz Ahmed to Andile Phehlukwayo. Hope you'll take strict action against him. #SayNoToRacism #SAvPAK #PAKvSA https://t.co/H8wFmMJbCl — Sir Jadeja (@SirJadeja) January 22, 2019 Ultimately, Phehlukwayo not only succeeded in winning the match for the Proteas, he was also crowned the Man of the Match for his crucial 69* in 80 outing to win the second of five ODIs within 42 overs.

  7. Indian Women's National Cricket T20I team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur was named the captain of the ICC World T20 Team of the year. Fellow Women in Blue, Smriti Mandhana and Poonam Yadav were also voted to be in the ICC World T20 and ODI squads. As an annual honorary ritual, the International Cricket Council (ICC) votes upon some of the best performers of the year, from all around the world, to form titular teams to acknowledge their outstanding achievements. Last year, making the cut were Indian ODI captain Mithali Raj (ODI), Ekta Bist (ODI and T20) and Harmanpreet Kaur (T20). This year, however, things have been a lot better for the Indian T20I skipper as Kaur has improved on an already impressive career, especially during the ICC Women's World T20 2018 when she led her team to the semifinals. "In that tournament, (Harmanpreet) Kaur scored 183 runs at a strike-rate of 160.5, while in the 25 matches in the calendar year, she accumulated 663 runs at a strike-rate of 126.2. Kaur is ranked third in the MRF Tyres ICC Women's Player Rankings for T20I Batters," read a statement issued by the ICC. 8. We all knew Captain Marvel was the last resort and also the last saving grace for the Avengers, when a disintegrating Nick Fury 'paged' her in the end credits of 'Infinity War'. Her importance in the upcoming 'Avengers: Endgame' shot by leaps and bounds following the incredible trailer of 'Captain Marvel', where we got a fair sense of what she is capable of – which is basically mind-blowing, boundless power. Even though I have been following Captain Marvel for a long time through comic books, and am fully aware of her powers, I can't help but confess that I was a wee bit doubtful if she would be of any help at all. Especially with Thanos now in possession of all the Infinity Gems- Soul Stone, Reality Stone, Mind Stone, Space Stone, Time Stone and Power Stone. However, Brie Larson, who is playing Captain Marvel just said something insanely awesome to put my doubts to rest and also confirmed that she is definitely going to bring the pain right to Thanos' doorstep. In an interview to TNT Brasil, when asked that even though Captain Marvel was among the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe, Thanos could probably give her a run for her money, Larson simply shrugged and said with a nonchalant expression, “he looks kinda shrimpy to me.” OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! MIC DROP!!!! Look at that face! Look at the confidence! That's the face of someone who KNOWS she is gonna kick some purple ass! Look at the choice of her words. 'Shrimpy'! I mean, come on. This is Thanos we are talking about. The dude who single-handedly wiped off like half of the MCU. Even Thor's Stormbreaker had zero effect on Thanos when the axe was embedded in his freaking chest (why didn't you go for the head? Goddamnit Thor!) So, given Larson's statement, I have no trouble believing she has something seriously terrible planned for the Mad Titan and is probably just counting the days for her encounter with 'shrimpy'. What do you guys think? Captain Marvel can take on Thanos? Or, is she also going to turn to crumbs? Let us know in the comment section.
  9. Ahead of their much-anticipated tour of Australia, the Indian cricket team knew they had a potential chance of creating history Down Under. While they were heavily favoured in the limited-overs series, the biggest test for the visiting side was undoubtedly the Tests where the hostile conditions posed a major threat for the Indian cricketers. But, contrary to popular perception, the Indian team put their best foot forward in the first Test and showed everyone why they are the No. 1 side in the longest version of the game. Showcasing great temperament and maturity, the visitors checked all the boxes in what eventually turned into a brilliant 31-run win at the Adelaide Oval. If the batsmen appeared responsible against the Aussies, the bowlers showcased versatility as the game progressed through the days. It's needless to say that the Indian side looked convincing in almost every session over a span of five days to eventually script a memorable win. And, as India took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series, skipper Virat Kohli, too, etched his name in the history books. © AP For a man who has witnessed a marauding run this year, Kohli couldn't do much with the willow as he managed to score just 3 & 34 across two innings. But, even if his bat couldn't breathe fire, Kohli, with his impeccable leadership skills, still clinched the unique feat of becoming the first-ever Asian captain to win a Test match in at least South Africa, England and Australia. Kohli-led India, that also became the first Indian side to win an opening Test in a series on the Australian soil, started the year on a promising note when they toured the Proteas. Despite losing the first two Tests in Centurion and Cape Town, the out-of-sorts Kohli brigade made a noticeable comeback and went on to win the third game at Johannesburg. Their next big stop was then in England where Kohli had witnessed a dismal outing back in 2014. As many would have anticipated, India began the Test series poorly, losing the first two games. But, as witnessed in South Africa, the Indian team bounced back in the third Test at Nottingham where an emphatic 203-run win once again proved what this side was capable of. Though Kohli's men lost the Test series 4-1, their outing in English conditions was still far better than those of their predecessors. © Reuters Apart from his team, Kohli himself had a brilliant run in both South Africa and England. Proving his class against the Proteas, Kohli emerged as the highest run-getter amongst the two sides in the Test series, scoring 286 runs in 6 innings at an average of 47.67. In England, Kohli silenced his naysayers by scoring 593 runs in 10 innings at a brilliant average of 59.30, showing how far he has come since his forgettable outing last time around. Though there are still three more Tests to go Down Under and Australia, despite the absence of their stalwarts Steve Smith and David Warner, still pose threat to India, the Kohli brigade, for now, can bask in the glory of a brilliant team effort that has allowed them to take a crucial 1-0 lead in what promises to be an exciting series.
  10. After giving us some brilliant films like 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran' and 'Satyameva Jayate', actor John Abraham is back in action and gearing up to kick some balls (quite literally) on the big screen. In this list of upcoming sports biopics, let's add another exceptional movie that has the potential to beat every other big release of 2019. The movie is based on the iconic 1911 football match that rewrote the Indian sports history. Wikimedia Reportedly, John has roped in Nikkhil Advani to direct this film, where he will play the role of Shibdas Bhaduri, captain of the Mohun Bagan team. After 'Gold' this will be another sports biopic set in the pre-independence era. Nikkhil thanked John on social media for this opportunity and wrote, "Totally honoured that John Abraham entrusted me to tell the story of 1911. Truly an inspiring story of an iconic event in our country's history." Totally honoured that @TheJohnAbraham entrusted me to tell the story of #1911. The honour is all mine @nikkhiladvani #1911 https://t.co/o1GWGoYUjj — John Abraham (@TheJohnAbraham) November 26, 2018 '1911' will narrate the story of late Indian football legend Shibdas Bhaduri, who was the captain of Mohun Bagan during the historic 1911 IFA Shield final, when they defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment and created history by becoming the first Asian team to win the competition. The film will also touch base with how the match played a crucial role in India's freedom struggle. John had earlier mentioned in interviews that he might cast some real footballers in the movie. Nikkhil Advani and John Abraham are currently working together on the upcoming movie 'Batla House' where he plays a cop. '1911' will reportedly go on floors in November 2019 and will be shot in Kolkata and is expected to release in 2020. Of all the genres, it's sports in particular that has turned out to be the dark horse of this race at the box office. The killer line-up of movies such as '83', and biopics of Major Dhyan Chand, Pullela Gopichand, Saina Nehwal and now '1911' only goes on to prove that sports biopics are going to be make it big at the box office in future as well.
  11. Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs no introduction. Neither is there a need to mention why his fans love him so much and continue to call him 'Captain Cool' till this day. He is one of the coolest and remarkable cricketers whose ideologies and charm rub off on his teammates too. From sleeping on the field during a match, to pulling over his car to meet a young fan; Dhoni's fans love him for his down-to-earth attitude and after learning that he once drove a bus after being appointed Test captain, we can't help but agree with it more. Reuters Reportedly, former Indian batsman VVS Laxman recently revealed in his autobiography '281 and Beyond' that back in 2008, Dhoni himself drove the team bus to the hotel. It was Laxman's 100th test and Anil Kumble had announced his retirement from cricket, making Dhoni the 'Test in charge'. Reuters He wrote, "One of my abiding memories is of MS (Dhoni) driving the team bus to the hotel in Nagpur, during my 100th Test. I couldn't believe my eyes — the captain of the team driving us back from the ground! It was his first Test in charge after Anil's (Kumble) retirement, and he didn't seem to have a care in the world. But he was like that, playful and grounded. MS never lost the joy, the playfulness. I have never met anyone quite like him." Reuters Laxman further revealed that Dhoni always remained calm and was never agitated even when the team wasn't performing well. Talking about his calm, he wrote, "MS Dhoni's calmness and equanimity are legendary. He had seen nothing but success until the tour of England in 2011. We had lost 4–0 in England and had already lost the first three Tests in Australia by the end of that year, and were heading for another whitewash." He further mentioned, "I was a mess, as were most of the guys, but MS was unbelievably composed. Not once did he lash out, and at no stage did he give the impression that he was frustrated or helpless." Probably, it's this calm and composed nature of his that sets him apart from his fellow players. After all, there's a reason why his fans call him 'Captain Cool'.
  12. For a country that boasts of a little over 4 million in population, Ireland undoubtedly packs a punch when it comes to sports. The small-but-proud nation has given the sporting world many stars including the likes of Conor McGregor in UFC, Rory McIlroy in golf and Roy Keane in football. While the nation has established itself in many sports, Ireland is also taking huge strides in international cricket. Their women's cricket team is currently slugging it out in the ICC World T20 in West Indies. But, things haven't been going the way Irish fans would have expected. Plying their trade in Group B, the Irish side was massacred by Australia in their opening game, where they suffered a massive nine-wicket loss. Eager to bounce back in the tournament, Ireland, then, ran into Pakistan in their second match. A three-wicket haul by Lucy O'Reilly restricted Javeria Khan-led team to 139 runs, allowing the Irish fans to dream on for a win. But a mediocre batting performance eventually spelt the doom for Ireland. © Twitter/@WorldT20 In a game that Ireland probably fancied winning, Pakistan held their nerve to notch up a 38-run win. Clearly, the Irish cricketers and their fans were left disappointed - something that was in full display during the post-match press conference. Talking to the reporters after the game, Ireland skipper Laura Delany broke down in tears while expressing her frustration over their dismal batting show. "If we were professional I wonder what the score would have been out there today to lose the match by 40 runs," the 25-year-old said. "If we were professional I wonder what the score would have been out there."@IrishWomensCric's captain Laura Delany was understandably quite emotional after her team's loss to Pakistan. Watchð pic.twitter.com/25tjIeMMOR — ICC World Twenty20 (@WorldT20) November 14, 2018 “I think 120-130 would be par on this wicket, unfortunately, we didn't have enough partnerships in the middle and that cost us the game,” the Ireland captain added. A brief video of her media interaction was shared by the official Twitter handle of the ICC World T20 and it was great to see the cricket fraternity and fans across the globe consoling the teary-eyed cricketer. Should be proud of what you guys achieve. Punch well above your weight constantly! — Alyssa Healy (@ahealy77) November 14, 2018 Genuine love! Let me reciprocate the beautiful gesture. We in Pakistan saw the match & as we cheered for our team we also commend your efforts. Already enough has been lodged onto a woman's life in today's world. We wish more strength, humbleness and gratitude to you all.#WT20 — Hassan Arshad (@HassanA46409700) November 14, 2018 This is what sucks about a majority of women's sports. 13. While we're still lucky to get to see Chris Evans as Captain America on the big screen one more time, the actor has officially retired from playing this iconic character. It was a sad day for all of us when he tweeted an emotional tribute to Cap. Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful. — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) October 4, 2018 Now, Chris has also opened up about what his last day on set was like, so yeah, it's final, he really will be gone after 'Avengers 4'. Talking about his last day on set, he said, “That last day of filming really was a very emotional day. It was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies — this unbelievable tapestry — and you feel a lot more emotions than I think even I thought I'd feel, and I felt it was appropriate to share the gratitude. I know it had a ripple effect, but I am neither confirming nor denying anything.” He has played this amazing character for years but turns out, his final scene as Cap was nothing special. It was a reshoot, some minor scene that needed fixing. That's a little disappointing but it's okay; I'm sure he has so many more memories playing the character that will stay with him always. He even went on to say his last line was not that proud of a moment. He said, “It was something really stupid, it was something really dumb. Which I also probably can't give away. Well, you know, it was reshoots, so you're doing these little picks and pops, and it's just little things that they need. It might have been a line to Paul Rudd. He wasn't there, but it was a stupid line. The line wasn't memorable to me [laughs]. The day was more memorable than the line.” Well, it still sounds exciting to me! We should all try to figure out which line it was when the movie is finally out next year. Also, I'm just going to leave this here. chris evans on his first day on set and on his last shoot ð pic.twitter.com/KMEkztvcI8 — captain* (@iamgeekingout) October 13, 2018 Coming back to Chris' tweet, he promised everyone he did not, in any way, give away any spoilers. Yes people, he's not Mark Ruffalo or Tom Holland, he's a part of the small group of actors who get the entire script beforehand. Let's all begin preparing for Captain America making his last appearance in MCU now. Goodbye Cap, we'll miss you!
  14. All good things come to an end, that's the rule of life, even if we don't want it that way. Excuse us for getting all sentimental, but we have good enough reason. Chris Evans, who has been an integral part of Marvel, has announced his departure from the franchise. It's beyond difficult to imagine the Marvel Cinematic Universe without Captain America, but his exit from the world of superhero movies was inevitable. We had expected Steve Rogers to die in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and were kind of prepared for it (not really), but Marvel pulled one on us and killed everyone except for the OG Avengers. But now that 'Avengers 4' has wrapped up shooting, it's finally getting real that this will be the last movie with a lot of our favourite characters. Fans can't help but get a lump in their throats. Chris Evans' heartfelt tweet isn't helping with all the feels right now either. Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. 15. Ever since we saw the symbol of Captain Marvel blinking on Nick Fury's pager in a particularly traumatic post-credit scene of 'Infinity Wars', we knew what was coming and could smell the impending awesomeness. Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel is MCU's newest superhero, and we would be lying if we told you we're not psyched to see her blow our brains out in the upcoming movie. The stand-alone 'Captain Marvel' movie will be a period film set in the 1990s, tracing the journey of Carol Danvers and her transformation into becoming a superhero. Those of you who are not familiar with her story, you'd better read this quick roundabout of 17 important facts about the most powerful superhero there is. Besides the fact that she is pretty much the strongest superhero in the MCU, what makes Captain Marvel so important is that she is a crucial link between the 'Avengers' and the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' films. Also, this is the first solo, female-led movie in the MCU. The hype for this movie is only increasing by the day, mostly because of its significant role in the MCU. And now, a newly-released bunch of photos from the film and the first look of Oscar winner Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has left fans salivating. The future is female! Here's your exclusive first look at @BrieLarson as @CaptainMarvel, the galaxy's newest — and most powerful — star: https://t.co/EKfHhGIhUa pic.twitter.com/xhD00bdfF0 — Entertainment Weekly (@EW) September 5, 2018 Brie looks brilliant and badass as expected, and six months seems too long a time to wait to see her in action. Entertainment Weekly released 10 exclusive pictures giving an in-depth look into the story of Danvers, along with other significant characters from the movie. 1. Carol Danvers In All Her Glory As Captain Marvel © EW She looks pretty pissed, doesn't she? We wonder if this is from a scene right before a fight. 2. The Military Team 'Starforce' On The Kree Planet Hala © EW “The film sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She's left her earthly life behind to join the elite military team Starforce on the Kree planet of Hala. (Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck describe Starforce as the SEAL Team Six of space.) Its members include Carol, Korath (Djimon Hounsou, returning from Guardians of the Galaxy), and Minn-Erva (Crazy Rich Asians' Gemma Chan).”- EW 3. Meet Carol's Mentor: Mar-Vell © EW “These extraordinary powers she has, he sees them as something of a blessing and something that she has to learn how to control. That's a motif throughout the piece, the element of learning to control one's emotions and to use your powers wisely.” EW quoted Jude Law, who is playing the role of her mentor, as saying. 4. The Invasion Of The Skrulls © EW These shape-shifting aliens are one of Marvel comics' 'nastiest and most notorious baddies', according to EW. Talos, their leader is played by Ben Mendelsohn, who also takes another form in the movie. 5. Talos' Human Form As He Infiltrates S.H.I.E.L.D © EW What makes the Skrulls so dangerous is their supreme ability to shape-shift, and in this behind-the-scenes picture, Talos has easily transformed into a human which allows him to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. 6. Mar-Vell & Ronan Are…Friends? © EW Ronan became an extremist bad guy only after almost two decades after 'Captain Marvel', so it would not come as a surprise if these two characters as working together. Ronan, who hails from the Kree race which was introduced in the 'Guardians of the Galaxy', still a high-ranking member of Kree society, according to EW. 7. Carol Danvers Looking As '90s As It Gets On Earth © EW Given that the movie is set in the nineties, we are sure all the fans from this generation should be prepared for major references from that era. 8. A Young Nick Fury With His Eyes Intact © EW “This Nick is a lowly S.H.I.E.L.D. desk jockey (who hasn't yet met any superheroes). He's younger than we've ever seen him (Jackson was digitally de-aged for the role), and perhaps most shocking of all, he's missing his signature eyepatch,”- EW. 9. Carol Danvers- The Badass Air Force Pilot © EW “Even before she became Captain Marvel, Carol was an accomplished Air Force pilot, and Larson spent time with actual pilots for research.” – EW 10. Another Possible Superhero? © EW “The film also introduces Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, one of Carol's oldest friends. She's a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign “Photon,” and she's also a single mother to a young daughter.”- EW.
  16. On the back of hard work and dedication to the sport, Virat Kohli has managed to establish himself as one of the most consistent batsmen across all formats in international cricket. If his batting prowess and envious levels of fitness makes him a nightmare for the opposition bowlers, Kohli's leadership skills has adequately aided Team India since he took over the reins from MS Dhoni. More importantly, Kohli is understanding as a captain and shares a good rapport with his teammates who seem to have happily adopted his aggressive brand of cricket. Apart from his duties on the field, the Delhi lad has also been seen having a gala time with his Team India mates away from the field. It is Kohli's ability to not only deliver with the willow, but also care for his teammates that has allowed him to earn everyone's respect. However, it seems that there is one Indian cricketer in particular who is probably not happy with his pragmatic captain. © Reuters Rohit Sharma has been an integral part of the Indian cricket team over the years. He has established himself as his side's go-to opener in limited-overs cricket. When it comes to his relationship with Kohli, the duo has often been seen spending time together. In fact, their respective wives Anushka Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh have also been seen joining the Indian cricket stars on lunch dates and candid outings. But, despite all that, something seems terribly wrong between the two cricket superstars. Speculations are rife that Rohit has unfollowed Kohli on both Twitter and Instagram which further instigates theories of a potential rift between them. The Mumbai Indians captain has 12.4m followers on Twitter where he follows just 46 individuals - a list that surprisingly no longer includes Kohli. The case is pretty much the same on Instagram where Rohit has 6.8m followers, while he follows a total of 84 people - a list that once again excludes Kohli. © Reuters Rohit, who scored two hundreds during the recent limited-overs series in England, was dropped from the Indian squad for the five-match Test series. The 31-year-old was apparently unhappy with his axing and minced no words in expressing his disappointment when he took to Instagram. Sharing a photo of himself from a vacation when India were busy playing the 2nd Test against England, he wrote: "Would have preferred to be in the Lords balcony with a view of the ground but I'll settle for this for now (sic)". Would have preferred to be in the Lords balcony with a view of the ground but I'll settle for this for now A post shared by Rohit Sharma (@rohitsharma45) on Aug 10, 2018 at 3:09am PDT After India's shambolic display at Lord's, Rohit - at a promotional event - had even suggested that he was ready to open the innings for his side if they wanted him back. But, no one really paid heed to Rohit's comments. While we aren't sure if Rohit followed Kohli in the first place or what really instigated his decision to unfollow his captain on two of the social media's biggest platforms, the move undoubtedly left the Indian fans confused and a bit tensed. 17. Inarguably one of the most popular and consistent batsmen in the modern era, Virat Kohli continues to rule the batting charts on the back of memorable performances in all three formats of the game. His artistry with the willow has made him a vital cog in the Indian batting line-up and often leaves the opposition bowlers scratching their head. But, despite all his records and batting prowess, Kohli, now, faces the formidable test of proving his worth in the English conditions. The Indian skipper will be eager to right the wrongs of the 2014 tour where he managed to score just 134 runs at an average of 13.50 across 10 innings in Tests. © Reuters If Kohli is looking to bury the demons of his last outing in England this time around, the Englishmen are busy devising cunning plans and tactics to ensure that the Delhi-born cricketer suffers the same fate in the upcoming five-match Test series. Stuart Broad, who will be one of the key bowlers alongside James Anderson for England, has revealed that the hosts have plans to halt Team India's talisman Kohli. "I really don't agree with the theory that one particular bowler can target a world-class batsman," Broad was quoted as saying by the International Cricket Council (ICC) website. "You have to have that pressure and theatre at both ends against that sort of quality - that's when you get mistakes. If he's able to really watch Jimmy (Anderson) and play carefully but score off me, you're taking away any advantage as a team. As a bowling unit, we will just have to make it as hard for all of their batsmen to score early runs, but particularly a key player like Virat. We have to try and create pressure that way," he added. © Reuters Broad is returning to action after recovering from an ankle injury. His ability to use the conditions well and provide crucial breakthroughs to his side will be key to England's success in the much-anticipated Test series. On the other hand, Broad's bowling partner Anderson, who had Kohli's number in the 2014 tour, will also be expected to deliver the goods in the conditions favourable to swing and seam bowlers. For the sake of Indian fans, let's hope that our country's run-machine Kohli answers the England bowlers and critics with a fine outing when India lock horns with the Englishmen in the first Test slated to begin from 1st August at Edgbaston.
